Well.... Greetings !!
It's another Friday & - apart from Archie - I'm truly "home alone" today !! As mentioned before... I think... the rest of the Clan have gone over to West Wales, to take J to Uni. They packed the car up & left, somewhere around the 11 or 11.30am mark this morning..... so, as I say - that just leaves Archie & myself to look after the fort.....
J is going to study at Aberystwyth Uni - doing something about computers & what have you... so, as my "Number 1 Son" I wish him well...... Hopefully he'll have a great time.....
To see them drive off, in ME's car this morning - you would think they were going off on some kind of round the World trip - the amount of stuff packed into the car !! Oh well.... as I say, I wish him well & he knows where his home is, should he feel the need to come back !!
So - what does one do, when left "home alone"... Well, that's simple - I turn the music down to deafening & kick back !! How else am I suppose to spend the day ?! Ok - I could get around to do a bit of the housework... maybe just a small bit, to help B out. After all - she has a multi hour round trip today... so, I'll try & tidy up, a little bit, after I finish writing these words to you, my dear readers !!
I see that quite a few of you, from the East of Europe have logged in, over the last few hours. As always, I thank you for your time !! I would be interested in what types of music you guys listen to - so, if you feel the need, you can always drop me a line !! I would be only too pleased to hear from you !!
As for my music of the moment... well, it's part of a 6 disc box set, that came yesterday, by the very underrated UFO !! It's called (I think) 'UFO On Air At The BBC 1974-1985' and.... at you might have guessed, features various concerts, recorded for the Beeb...... more or less, one concert per disc. I think there is an odd track taken from studio sessions, but - to be honest - I've not looked at it too much, so far !!
I really wanted it, for disc 5... which features their Knebworth concert from 1985. They were on the same bill, supporting Deep Purple. I have nearly all of the performances from the day, except The Scorpions... who, for some reason, didn't want their show
broadcast !! Oh well....
The tracks on this disc are:
1) Blinded By The Lie
2) Heaven's Gate
3) Wreckless
4) Love To Love
5) Night Run
6) Only You Can Rock Me
7) Lights Out
8) Doctor Doctor
It's quite a good selection of live stuff.... Ok, some of the tracks are repeated... but, what the heck - the price was right !! Along side the two 5 Cd sets, which I picked up a while back, I have a good cross section of their stuff now, so that's good !! Hey, it's all music..... !!
Going back to this morning - well, just a few hours ago, before the guys left... two of the nurses came to do my back dressings, again !! Things didn't go quite sooooo well today.... it hurts like crazy, when they do the dressing anyway... but, today - for whatever reason, the sticky stuff seem to be stuck on, just that little bit worse than
normal !! Nevermind - each time they change it is one less time & the closer I get to having the whole back healed up once & for all.
I'm not sure just how long it's going to take to finish - healing - but, I am getting, just a little, fed up with it all now !! Oh well - I'm going back to the hospital, to see the nurses in there, plus (I think) the Consultant who did the original surgery.... all those months ago !! Hopefully, they will be able to give me a better idea of what & when thing are likely to do !! Time will definitely tell on that one !!
Right - the UFO Cd is about to finish & looking around the room, I think I better sign off soon & get started on my bit of housework !! Where I'm going to start - well, that's another thing.... probably, in the far corner & work this way !! I'll see how my back holds up - and how tired I get !!
For now tho' - I must away... I thank you all for taking the time to log in & read my words... until next time...
Bye Bye

The Duracell Bunny Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
It's a wet & breezy Wednesday, here in old England..... and I think this post will probably be 2 or 3 parts. To explain....
I'm sat here, more or less on my own, at the moment.... B is out in the porch, come lean to - having a bit of a tidy up. ME, after working all thru' last night, is upstairs - I'm not 100% sure if she has gone to bed. Which just leaves J - who has just gone up the stairs, to his Hobbit Hole...... taking his lunch with him !! So, that's the family....
As for the 2 part thingy....
Well, this is part 2.... I had to take a break, a few minutes ago, to do something else - as I expected, so this is Pt 2 !! It's all very weird here at the moment - so, this post is going to take me a while !! Onwards - ever onwards !!
Part 3....
Yep - had to take another break... it's one of those days !! nevermind... it's now 10 minutes to 2pm & I am now completely on my own !! The rest of the family have all gone into town. J has his usual meeting to attend - so, B has taken him in, to save him having to make a 2 hour bus journey..... and ME has gone along for the ride. How that girl keeps going is beyond me - up all night working & she bops along like the "Duracell Bunny"... oh well !!
Right - it's been a funny sort of day !! As you might have guessed. For me, it stated about 3am, this morning, when I woke up & just couldn't get back to sleep... thankfully, I have a good supply of sleeping tablets, so I took one of those. I know I shouldn't have really... but, I need my beauty sleep & my back wound is really hurting these days, so.... I took the pill & had done with it !! B was awake at the same time - but, I think she nodded off.... not sure about that !!
I do know that I made her a cup of tea and she enjoyed that... oh - this was about 8am this morning, not in the middle of the night !! Anyhoo - she got up & I stayed in bed - thinking I would have an extra 30 minute lie in !!
At 10am - 2 hours later, the district nurse arrived to changed my dressings !! I couldn't believe it !! Nevermind - the 2 nurses came &, altho' it took them an hour to do everything, I now have a fresh dressing !!
The wound, or holes in my back now measure 14cm x 6cm for the big one & 4cm x 1cm for the little one !! Such a nice thing to have to put up with - it's Ok tho'.... the pain is kind of harsh at times, but apart from that, 'Rover' is the biggest problem !! I'm getting really fed up of having it attached to me, all the time !! Oh well - it's doing some good, I suppose.... but, it really is bloody annoying !!
I'm going back to the hospital, next Wednesday... so, hopefully I can lose the thing & go onto some kind of other dressing......... that would be really great !! After having dressings on my back, since May 28th - any progress would be good !! To lose the things altogether, now.... that would be something special, but... it's not going to happen for a long while yet !!
Right, onto music & once again, I'm playing some more Allman Brother's concerts.... I know - I have all of these other Cd's I could be playing, but I keep playing the Brothers !! This time tho' - it's another old concert, from December 31st 1973 (I think) and was recorded at 'The Cow Palace' which I have listed here, as being in Daly City. If anybody has any other info on this show, I would be grateful to you, if you could let me know !!
The tracks I have are:
CD 1
1) Wasted Words
2) Done Somebody Wrong
3) One Way Out
4) Stormy Monday
5) Midnight Rider
6) Blue Sky
7) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
8) Statesboro' Blues
CD 2
1) Southbound
2) Come & Go Blues
3) Ramblin' Man
4) Trouble No More
5) Jessica
6) Les Brers In A Minor Pt 1
7) Drums
8) Les Brers In A Minor Pt 2
CD 3
1) Whipping Post
2) Linda Lou - Mary Lou
3) Hideaway - You Upset Me
4) Bo Didley - Mountain Jam
CD 4
1) Save Your Life
2) Blues Jam
3) Will The Circle Be Unbroken
4) Mountain Jam
This has been an exciting find for me - as I didn't know I had this show !! I was looking to make room, for all of the new concerts that have come, over the last few weeks/months & I found it on the
shelf !! All very strange.... so, anyhoo... I'm enjoying playing it..... even tho' I don't remember where it came from !! Me & my lack of memory !! Oh well - shoot me !!
I had hoped another set would of reached me, by today....."No" not another Allman's show... this time a 5 Cd box set of live BBC recording done by UFO over the years. I wanted it mainly as there is a Cd full of their Knebworth 1985 set... which I have on tape - recorded from the radio, but I really would like to get an official Cd of the show !! Bootlegs are one thing - but, always buy the official
stuff !!
I think I will take another break, I'll get back, probably on Friday... thanks for logging in... until next time...

Star Trek & The Winterland Ballroom.... Ho-hum
Greetings World's....
It's another Thursday, here in old England & I'm here on my ownsome - typing these words to you & listening to yet another Allman Brothers concert !! I'm surrounded by thousands of Cd's - yet, I'm constantly playing the Allman's, over & over !!
Mind you - they are a really fine group & no matter how many times I play the concerts, I can always find something new !! The one I'm playing at the moment is part of the 'Brothers & Sisters' 4 Cd package, that came out, while I was in hospital....... I played it to death, over my last few days in the place, but... I think this is only the 2nd or 3 rd time I've played it, since being home !!
More of the above, a bit later - first, the family.....
As I say, I'm here on my own.... sort of. ME is in bed, after working yet another night shift.... J is upstairs in his hobbit hole.... so, in theory, I'm not completely alone !! B, however, has gone out for the day.... visiting her Dad.
Long time readers will know, that he moved into a new place.... and, I think, B has gone up to help him do a few odds & ends.... I'm not 100% sure - but, she won't be home until later on this afternoon. So, with the guys all doing their own thing - I'm sat here, on my own... playing music.... I couldn't be much happier really !! If I'm going to be on my own, at least I have my music to keep me going..... and life is grand !!
Going back a day or two........ to Tuesday, I had a bummer of an e-mail, from my bank !! To explain.....
Being stuck in the hospital, for 3 months, we decided we would like to have a small holiday.... once I'm a little healthier & up to travelling etc etc. So - to help us book hotels & stuff, we paid £1500 into my Bank's Visa account.... which served two purposes.... One, it reduced our monthly payments & two - it would give us holiday money, using our "flexible friend" !! It seemed like a great plan.....
.... however, the bank had other idea's !! I had an e-mail, at 11.34 on Tuesday morning, telling me that as of midnight, last night, my credit card was having it's limit reduced !! Guess how much by ? Yep - exactly £1500 !!
So - I actually called the bank, with-in 10 minutes of getting the e-mail & complained about it.... then yesterday, I had to make another 'phone call, to another of the bank's departments - but, it hasn't done any good !!
Sooooo - despite own best efforts & plans - the bank has kept our £1500 and by reducing my card limit, they have effectively stolen our holiday from us !! It stinks - it really does...... But, there seems nothing I can do about it, other than complain in writing, to which ever department deals with such things...... I'm just pissed about the whole thing...they tell you to use your credit cards, to book things & stuff... yet, they have taken our money from us & buggered up all of our plans, in the process !! Screw them........
Onto happier things....
Yesterday, I had to go back to the hospital, to see one of my all time favorite nurses, so she could check up on my back. As I've said before, I have a big hole, in my back - and she needed to give it a quick look, to see how it is going !! The nurses are still coming here, to the house, to change the dressings.... but, in a way, she "out ranks" them & needed to look at it herself..........
The good news is, hopefully, in about 2 weeks, I might be able to give Rover back to the hospital & go onto a regular type of dressing !! I know Rover has been a big help to me - but, it would be great, not to be tied to the thing all day & everyday !!
For example - a guy just came to the door, to give me a parcel.... I stood up, to answer the door, walked off - only to remember Rover.... which meant a quick double back, to stop myself ripping the tubes out of my spine !! All very messy !! Anyhoo - here's hoping all goes well, over the next 2 weeks !!
The postman has just got here, with 2 more editions of 'The Official Star Trek Star Ship Collection' !! That was a nice surprise, I didn't expect anything, in the post, today.... so... I am now the "proud owner" of 3 Star Ship models. For those who know about such things, or are slightly interested:
1) NCC-1701-D
2) NCC-1701(2271)
3) B'REL Class Klingon Bird Of Prey
I have no idea what all these numbers mean.... I like Star trek... but, I the technical side of things I'll leave to the real "die hard" fans. The models look good & hopefully, one day, one of my Grandchildren will enjoy having them !! What am I talking about "Grandchildren" !!
No, as far as I know - I don't have any Grandchildren..... but, the whole point of me collecting models, which I do from time to time, is put them away in a box & let them stay there, just incase, one day, I do have Grandchildren and the models can be past onto them !!
I must admit - nearly all of the models I've collected have been male orientated - trains, boats, planes etc etc - but, I wouldn't know what to get, model wise, for a girl !! Maybe later on, if God gives me the grace to live long enough to see Grandchildren, I will have a better idea on what to get !!
I just took a 20 minute break, to 'phone a friend, in Bristol - my first chance, to speak to him, since being out of the hospital !! He is a great guy..... we enjoy the same type of music & tho' we don't get to meet up too often, it's great to speak to him from time to time !!
Back to this Allman Brother's Concert.... I've probably done the track listing before, but here goes:
CD 1
1) Introduction - Bill Graham
2) Wasted Words
3) Done Somebody Wrong
4) One Way Out
5) Stormy Monday
6) Midnight Rider
7) Ramblin' Man
8) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
9) Statesboro' Blues
10) Come & Go Blues
CD 2
1) Southbound
2) Jessica
3) You Don't Love Me (Including Amazing Grace)
4) Les Brers In A Minor
5) Blue Sky
6) Trouble No More
7) Whipping Post
This concert has been circulating the bootleg scene, for many Moons... in one form or another, mainly as it was first broadcast on a radio station (I think)... hence, there were lots of tapes of the show !! Anyhoo - it's from the 'Winterland Ballroom' and was recorded on September 26th 1973.... for me, one of the best concerts I have ever heard by this incarnation of the band....... well good !!
I've never really had this show, in this complete form, before - usually a track or 2 have been missing - so, this is a great addition to the collection !! I've mention bootlegs, as always - don't buy the things - get the official stuff instead !!
Talking of which - I have about 18 official live albums by the Allman's in the pipeline.... so, that will be great fun, when they get here !! Some of them were only recorded a day or two ago, so I'll have to wait a while for those to get to me !! Nevermind.... it will give me something to listen to !!
Ok - my plans for the rest of the day... well, I'm going to give the rec room a bit of a tidy up.... lots of my stuff is just floating around, so I need to find homes for them !! Sounds like a plan to me..... so, for now, I will be on my ways & get to work !!
I thank you all for logging in & taking the time to read my words !! It's great to know my Russian reader had logged in this morning...until next time...

Hawkwind... and feeling like crap !!
Hi World's !!
How are you treating yourselves today ?! More to the point - how is the Universe treating you today ?! I'm doing pretty well.... tho'..... it's about 4.30 pm & I've only been out of bed around 30 minutes or so !! My get up & go has completely left me today.... a bit of a bummer !!
Nevermind.... onwards...
The family....... Well, J is here, up in his Hobbit hole. He goes to Uni in a few days, so I hope he's getting himself all prepared & stuff !! He is talking to me these days - which is an improvement... so, I wish him well !!
As for the ladies of the household..... I think ME was having her hair done today, so B went along for the ride. Which was kind of good - tho' it did leave me home alone, with the nurses !!
Being a Monday - 2 of them came to change my dressings (on my back)... so, that meant, with B on her ways out - I had to deal with it, on my ownsome !! Another bit of a bummer !! It was Ok - even tho' it hurts like hell, while they are doing it, there is very little B could do, as far as helping out.... so, in a ways, I was quite happy..... alone in my bubble !!
After they left - I went back to sleep & hence, I didn't wake up until around the 4 pm mark !! Oh well - life is good !! I won't see the nurse's now, until Friday - mainly as I'm back to the hospital on Wednesday.... where, I guess, they will have a look at my back & decide how things are going !! There is no way I'm staying in the place, so.... it should be just a day visit - I hope !! I'll let you know how all of that goes... ho-hum !!
Oh - my thanks to all of you, for logging in.... especially my American reader, who has logged in, as I write !! Many thanks to you all !!
The music of the moment is Hawkwind's 'Warrior On The Edge Of Time' Cd.... from 1975. This is a re-release, with one bonus track, nothing too exciting. The tracks are:
1) Assault & Battery/The Golden Wind
2) The Wizard Blew His Horn
3) Opa-Loka
4) The Demented Man
5) Magnu
6) Standing At The Edge
7) Spiral Galaxy 28948
8) Warriors
9) Dying Seas
10) Kings Of Speed
11) Motorhead
It's a bit of 1970's fun... and, at the time, a really great album !! I met the band in 1971 & they were a great bunch of lads - ahhhhh - all those many Moons ago !! Oh well... I better close this down - I can't seem to read my own typing !!
I thank you all for logging in... I will try & write more next time - at which stage I might feel a little better... until then...
Bye Bye
How are you treating yourselves today ?! More to the point - how is the Universe treating you today ?! I'm doing pretty well.... tho'..... it's about 4.30 pm & I've only been out of bed around 30 minutes or so !! My get up & go has completely left me today.... a bit of a bummer !!
Nevermind.... onwards...
The family....... Well, J is here, up in his Hobbit hole. He goes to Uni in a few days, so I hope he's getting himself all prepared & stuff !! He is talking to me these days - which is an improvement... so, I wish him well !!

Battlefield Earth & other love songs !!
Greetings World's !!
It's another Friday, here in England & I'm sat here wondering where another week has gone ?! Honestly - it's really weird - with my brain not working on all 6 cylinders - I seem to be missing more & more of what life has to offer !! Nevermind..... whatever I miss, life will go on.... with or with-out me in tow !!
Ok - it's Friday & it's about 12.30pm.... and I'm just about getting over another visit from the nurses !! As mentioned before - I think - 3 times a week, two lovely ladies pay me a visit, to change my dressings...... and, to be very honest, as it was in hospital - it really hurts !!
It's not their fault, but - if you can imagine - having a bloody big hole in my back.... well, it hurts like hell, when they pack everything into the blooming thing !! Luckily, I'm able to go into my "bubble" and try to put whatever they're doing, almost, completely out of my mind. It still hurts tho' - so.... thank The Lord above for the wonders of morphine !! Moving right along....
For once, the complete clan are here at home !! B is upstairs, changing our bedding... J has just gone upstairs, after coming down for a food top up... and ME is in bed, after working another night shift. So - we're all here today !! That's really unusual - it really is - but, it's kind of nice to have everyone here, around me - even if, at the moment, they are all doing their own thing !!
As for me - well, I'm here, alone, playing some music & listening to a really good Allman Brothers concert !! It's the first time I've played this one - even tho' it came over 3 months ago !! It quite honestly came a few days before I went into hospital & - as such - I didn't get to listen to it.... more fool me - it's one of the best I've heard in a while !!
The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Don't Want You No More/It Ain't My Cross To Bear
2) One Way out
3) Ain't Wastin' Time No More
4) Rockin' Horse
5) Good Clean Fun
6) Firing Line
CD 2
1) The Sky Is Crying
2) Instrumental Madness
3) Midnight Rider
4) Stand Back
5) The Weight
6) Statesboro' Blues
CD 3
1) Mountain Jam/Jabuma/Mountain Jam
2) No One To Run With
The concert was recorded at the Plain Dealer Pavilion in Cleveland, OH on June 21st 2006 & - as I said above - it's really good !! I would recommend to all of you, go to the 'Hittin' The Note' web site & indulge yourself..... buy a few of the shows & sit back & enjoy them !!
I've probably over "indulged" myself this week.... to explain !!
Before going into the hospital - I was able to get hold of all of the Allman's 2013 concerts, up to that time.... well, last night, I ordered another 11 - this time from the bands Summer tour.... as I say - I've probably over "indulged" myself - but, what the hell !!
To be honest - I want to get all of the 2013 shows... plus, after the crap I've put up with since last May - I felt like "treating" myself !! I'm not 100% sure when they - the concerts - will get here, as they are all on pre-order, at the moment. Some of them were only recorded a day or two back - so.... they might take a day or two..... Ho-hum !!
Hopefully, the band will do a few more shows, this year - I'm not sure if the tour has finished yet - so, I'll buy them, as & when I can... or as & when they are released !! It might sound like I do nothing but listen to & buy Cd's... well, that's kind of true !! But - I don't smoke or drink, so..... Cd's & music are my big vice !! It keeps me sane - or, at least, as sane as I'm ever likely to get !!
Talking about being sane... or insane, as the case might be.... I must tell you about "Rover" !! I might have done this already - so, if I'm repeating myself.... I'll say "Ooops" now !!
Anyhoo - "Rover" has become, over the last couple of months, my constant companion...... he is small & a complete pain in the ass !! At nights, just as I'm getting off to sleep - he will wake me up, with his constant "humming" - or what else you might want to call the booming noise he makes !! Sometimes, I will forget about him - and I'll try & walk to walk away.... only to be "pulled" back...... he is very adapt at making sure he is not left behind - no matter where I want to go !!
So - who is this fantastic, loyal "Rover"...... well, he or it, is the bloody bag I have to carry with me, everywhere I go - mainly as I'm attached to the thing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week- for the for see-able future, at least !! Honestly - being stuck in hospital for 3 months was one thing....... but, having to have this "thing" with me, all the time... well, I think it's some form of torture, made up - just so people like me, are kept reminded - if the pain in itself wasn't enough - that I have a hole in my back !! Give me a gun quick & I'll shoot the thing, before it completely takes over my entire life !!
Anyhoo - that's "Rover" - so, if I mention him, in the future.... you might remember who I'm talking about !!
Right - what else is new.... well, very little !! I mentioned that I was collecting the 'Star Trek' models..... well, a day or two back, I hired the latest 'Star Trek' film... 'Into Darkness'. It's very good - but, I'm going to have to watch it again, just to try & work out some of the plot !! For me, it was very complicated... but, that's just me I guess !!
Oh yes.... yesterday, J had to go into Taunton for a meeting, so we dropped him off & then went shopping - well, that is to say, I looked in a couple of record shops. I didn't find anything - but, B did buy me a DVD I've been looking for... 'Battlefield Earth' - a complete bit of trash, which came out a few years, or more back !! I watched a bit of it, last night... and it was fun, just to see how bad it really was.....nevermind - it was only £6... so..... !!
Ok - I must away - I've spent far too long writing today !! It's now (almost) 2pm !! I did take a break, part ways thru' - so, don't think it's taken me 90 minutes, just to write these few words !! But - anyhoo... I must away... thank's for logging in.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Allman Brothers & Led Zeppelin - Ho-hum !!
Hi Worlds !!
How are you all doing this fine day ?! It's quite warm here in South Western England - tho' a little cloudy.... so much for the weather, moving on....
It's another Monday !! The weeks seem to keep rolling along - with being "out of the loop" by being stuck in hospital for 3 months - I really am struggling to get my head around being home.... it's very weird !!
Take today, as an example..... It's now 3.30pm & I'm here - more or less alone - being able to sit at the keyboard, with-out any distractions !! There are no Dr's or nurses coming around to disturb me.... it's great !! It really is.... it's hard to put into words - other than to say "it's good to be alive - and home !!"
I'm actually wrong, on one thing at least.... I have had some nurses here today !! A short while ago, two of them were here to change my dressings..... so, there really is no escaping them !! They - or someone like them - will come at least three times per week, for the next few weeks (or months) to see how the wound is doing.
Tho' I can't see it - being on my back - I can tell them how it's
doing !! It bloody well hurts & I'm getting pretty fed up with the
pain !! That's how it's doing !! Oh well - I'm happy to be home - so, bugger the pain !! Nevermind.....
Back to reality... and the family of the clan.
At the moment, only J & myself are actually at home. The ladies of the household have gone out shopping, or something similar - I'm not really sure what... they left, just as the nurses got here - so, that wasn't too bad really. I'm not 100% sure when to expect them home.... time will tell on that one, I guess.
As for the music of the moment.... I've been playing one of the Allman Brothers concerts, that came a day or two, before I went into hospital.... as such, due to lack of time, I've not heard them before !! This one is from July 12th 2005 and has been a good listen... especially as it has some "early" run thru's of stuff from the 'Hittin' The Note' Cd !!
Back to yesterday... I was playing a "new" Led Zeppelin bootleg. Again, it came while I was in hospital - so, yesterday was the first time I got to listen to it !! Here's the track listing:
CD 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Sick Again
3) Over The Hills & Far Away
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) The Song Remains The Same
6) The Rain Song
7) Kashmir
CD 2
1) No Quarter
2) Trampled Underfoot
3) Moby Dick
CD 3
1) Dazed & Confused
2) Stairway To Heaven
CD 4
1) Whole Lotta Love
2) Black Dog
3) Communication Breakdown
It's a really good soundboard recording - but, I'm not exactly sure why it's put onto 4 discs ?! 'Dazed & Confused' clocks in at over 40 minutes - so, maybe there simply wasn't enough room to put everything onto the third disc..... I'll have to do some timings & check it out, at some point !!
'Communication Breakdown' has a good jam session - with Ron Wood joining the band on stage.... plus, as a bit of fun (I guess) Plant sings a line or two from 'Roll Over Beethoven' while they are sorting out the guitars & stuff..... a good boot to have in the collection !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs..... !!
Ok - my plans for today.... none at all really !! I'm actually going back up to bed I think..... as good as the nurses are - they have left me in a small bit of pain... so, I will go & sleep that off, for an hour or 3 !!
Thanks for logging in.... until next time...

Led Zeppelin - Nassau Coliseum 13-2-1975
Well Greetings Worlds !!
It's a bright Sunday afternoon, here in England..... B & J are outside, working on the front garden & hedge. Mainly the latter, as it was well due a trim !! It's not the biggest hedge in the World - but, J is able to sit on the top & trim it that way !! Whatever it takes I guess !!
Anyways - that's where 2 of the family are..... the 3rd one, ME..... well, she worked last night & as far as I know, she is now at M's place, spending the day with him. After working 5 nights (I think) on the trot, I'm guessing she is enjoying a bit of "down time" !!
It's very strange, as long time readers will know......... I've just spent 3 months in hospital & now, I have to "re-set" my whole body clock, away from the institutionalized way things were done there - to doing things here !! That might sound kind of dumb..... but, my whole day in the hospital, was mapped out. Here - well, I can please myself what I do - more or less & that's kind of hard to adjust to !! Nevermind - I've only been home a few days, I'll get used to it all !!
One thing that I am getting very used to.... and that's playing music thru' the system again & not thru' The Mini Egg (my iPod thingy) which I used in the hospital !! Don't get me wrong - my Sennheiser headphones are really really good..... but, to be able to listen to stuff, thru' the Bose speakers... well, it's hard to explain really !!
At the moment, I'm playing one of the 50 or so Cd's that were waiting for me, when I got home..... this one being a recording of Zeppelin's concert at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale New York. It's from February 13th 1975 & seems to be a complete soundboard recording..... which, I don't think, I've had before !!
I'm only on the 2nd disc of 4 - but, so far so very good......... tho' - I don't understand why there are 4 discs in the collection ?! I'll keep playing them thru' & see what discs 3 & 4 contain !! I like a good mystery.....
Something else I like... and that's collecting things. It might sound totally dumb, but over the years I've collected model aircraft, model trains & battle ships..... all of which are stored (kind of) safely in the loft. Now - this is probably the dumb part - but, I've never opened them..... by that, I mean, they are all still as they reached me, in their little boxes, unopened. My plan being, that one day I might - just might - have some Grandchildren & - if I do - they can have the models !!
Even if I never have Grand-kids..... there are still a nice bundle of models and someone might like them, at some point !! Time will tell on that one..... but, whatever happens - I've started another collection !! This time, for my sins - I've started buying "The Official Star Trek Starship Die-Cast Collection". In other words - every 2 weeks, I'm going to have a model space ship, based on the various 'Star Trek' TV series & films.
That really does sound pretty crap, but - I do have a soft spot for 'Star Trek' - so, collecting the various models should be a bit of fun !! The first model, for those of you who might be "nerd-ish" enough to know these things, is of "U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D"...... I've no idea what series, or film, it's from - but... it looks pretty good, even tho' I've not taken it out of it's box or anything !!
It'll be a little bit of fun, just collecting the things & storing them in a box, or something, for another day...... besides, if they turn out to be really crap - I can stop buying the things !! Time will tell on that one, I guess !!
Ok - moving along....... My plans, for the rest of the day.
Well, being a Sunday - and I've only just thought of this really - I didn't think about going to Church today !! In a way, that's really "bad" of me...... but, I'm still getting used to being home, that I didn't even think about Church !! In a way, that's a bit of a lie. Yesterday, B did mention about going - if I wanted to go - but, that was yesterday...... I'm not 100% sure if B asked me again today.......
Anyhoo - I didn't want to go today, especially to "our" Church..... I wouldn't feel very welcome there !! Well, that's how I would feel about going there. I e-mailed The Bishop, before I went into hospital & a couple of times since.... but, I never heard back from him, which has kind of "upset" me. I thought the least he could of done, was acknowledge my words..... oh well....
I've got it, in my head, to go to another Chapel.... up at Weston-Super-Mare. I don't really know why, but we were talking & the thought of having some fun, beside the seaside & maybe going to a service there, just seems to have lodged in my head !! Nevermind - maybe one day.... I'll see what happens !!
Back to my plans, for the rest of the day....... I've got a shed load of stuff to tidy up & go thru' !! Loads of magazines & Cd's... plus unsorted junk, going back over the last 3 months !! It's crazy just how much crap has built up in my absence !! It's be interesting to see what is actually worth keeping & what just needs throwing away !! That's my next job !!
Tomorrow - I'll give you a track listing for this 4 Cd set I've been listening to...... it's been fun, a good recording is always good to
hear !! For now tho' - I must away !!
As always, I thank you all for logging in & reading my words - it means a lot to me, that you take the time, just to read the junk I write about !! It's good to know you're "out there"... until next time..
Bye Bye
