Hi & Greetings World's !!
It's the last day of the year - and more than likely, my last post of the year.... 2014 is fast a coming to an end & 2015 is around the corner !! I see, on the BBC news, that New Zealand & Australia have already welcomed the new year in, with some really good fireworks.... great stuff !!
As I've mentioned before - directly behind our house, there is a 11th century hill fort... well, the remains of one. Anyhoo - on "New Years Eve" (or whatever it's called) you can go up, to the top of the hill & see the fireworks, going right up thru' the Bristol Channel... from South Wales - all the ways along !! It's quite a sight to see..... well good !!
Oh well.... I doubt that we'll be climbing tonight.... nevermind - we still get a good view out of the bedroom windows !! Moving on - to the family.....
As I type - B is sat, over to my left, doing some kind of cross stitch thingy..... We went into town, a short while ago - mainly to give me a bit of air + to drop off a letter, for our Daughter, ME. We went over to the M & M's house, but didn't stay.....
Hopefully, the 2 of them won't be upset - by my not staying..... I wasn't feeling too brilliant & I didn't really want to spoil their day !! I will go over & stay next time......
As I say - I wasn't feeling too brilliant & just wanted to go out, for a drive around & pick up a couple of things, from one of the shops. As it was - we went into Sainsbury's & bought a few things... but, forgot one, of the 2 things, we actually needed !! Oh well.... we can get them next time around !!
I did get some blank Cd's tho' - at a really good price !! I'm guessing that it was stock, brought in for the Christmas rush - but, in the end, didn't get sold !! Sooooo - they were marked down, I think to about half price... great stuff !!
Ok - I know I didn't really need any blanks - but, they will always come in handy, for one thing or another........ especially as, at the moment, I'm putting together another "mix tape" type of thing. If you don't know, what I'm going on about - read an earlier post (or 2) and you'll soon get the idea !!
That's what I'm trying to do, as I type - putting some Gov't Mule stuff, onto one of the blanks...... the track of the moment is 'Trying Not To Fall' - taken from their 'The Deep End Vol's 1 & 2' album.
It's just a bunch of random tracks - that I want to stick together..... it's just a bit of fun & I want to try & record it, the "mix tape" - before going back, into hospital, in February !!
Two things, that I best explain...
(1) I'm using Cd's - not tapes... so, "mix tape" is just an old term, for what I'm putting together.... we used to do tapes, for the cars & stuff - now, I use Cd's !!
(2) If I'm not going into hospital, until February... "why do them now"... well, mainly as it won't be as simple, as just putting together one Cd - the last one, that I put together - well, that worked out.... altogether, to be 18 Cd's !! Sooooo - I need time to put things onto Cd..... I'm just an old fart & I need time, to do things !! Oh well.....
Moving on - well, backwards really......
Earlier this morning, I had another dressings change.... either I'm getting used to the pain.... or, all of my nerve ends, in my back, have given up. No really - it still hurts, every time one of the nurses takes the old dressings off - but, this morning... it didn't seem to be too bad !! It's amazing what you can get used to, I guess !!
I will be sooooo happy, when (if) this all comes to an end !! B took a picture, this morning - to show me, how the wound is mending... I was kind of disappointed - mainly as I had hoped it would be a lot better, than it actually looked, in the 'photo.... nevermind !!
Compared to how it has been - the whole wound is sooooo much better, size wise, if not exactly pain wise !! It will all end - one day..... I just expected to have one surgery, in May 2013 & so far, it's coming up to 10 !! Ain't life great, sometimes ?! Oh well....
It's the end of another year.... and I refuse to make any kind of resolutions, for 2015 !! I've tried to do my best, over recent years - but.... I have failed completely, on most of them !! Honestly.... I've had some great idea's - but, only a very few of them have come to anything !!
As for what has gone by, in 2014.... ?! Ho-hum... I better just stick to music - tho' I don't think I have any favourite "album of the year" type of thing. I have - as usual - had far too many Cd's, to actually listen to, in all their glory..... as I've said before - too many Cd's & too few brain cells !!
I have enjoyed everything that I've heard, by Transatlantic - even tho' some of the Cd's are from before 2014 !! having said that - the other side of the coin.... away from "prog rock".... I've really enjoyed The Hooters re-release of 'Time Stand Still' - but, I don't really know when that was put on sale !!
Anyhoo.......
I will leave you all, to listen to your own music collections.... as long as you're all happy, with whatever you listen to - what the heck !! Life is good - so, have a great 2015.... I thank you all, for reading my words, thru' out the last 12 months.... Happy New Year.....until next time

'Like It Is' & 'Live At The Marquee' Ho-hum.
Greetings !!
It's a cold & dry Tuesday, here in England's South-West corner..... Ok - I've not been outside, at all... but, looking out, from our bedroom window, I can see the sea & coast.... so.... that's a bonus !! Usually, when it's wet - the sea & coast are lost in the mist - not today tho' !!
As I type, B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is upstairs, trying to sort out her "craft cave".... which used to be ME's old bedroom. For new readers - where have you been ?! - ME is our daughter & she moved out, several months ago. Her partner - M - and her, bless them, managed to get things together & boght their first house !! A lovely place it is, as
well !!
So - with two great jobs, a lot of love & happiness..... plus their very own kitten - the fantastically named Bruce... they're happy together. This was their very first Christmas, in their own home..... so, we could not be happier for them !!
Anyhoo - back to B's craft cave thingy..... Having done a bundle of Christmas cards & things, B decided it was time for a general tidy up..... so, that's where she is, as I type - trying to sort stuff out, putting things away & stuff. Occasionally, there is the odd bit of cursing, nothing too much.... but, I guess things are not always going the way she hopes !! Oh well.....
I'm duty bound, to shout up the stairs, when the washing thingy finishes. At the moment, it's on one of it's many spin cycles - lots of noise..... being drowned out, by the sound of Jeff Buckley - or, better put, the music of the moment !!
B has just come down... she brought back a book, that I thought she was going to use.... it wasn't needed, so she has given it back - for my safe keeping. Also - the washing machine has just finished - so, that will save me shouting up the stairs to her !! I didn't mind.... but, sometimes, I do not always hear when the thing comes to an end.... no biggy, it's all done now !!
Going back, 48 hours - being a Sunday, I had to head to the hospital, for a dressings change..... as you will all know, not my favourite past-time !! Anyways.... back to the hospital.
On the weekends, the district nurses run a clinic, for people like myself - who need things looking at. Sooooo, B took me in & we met up with a nurse, who has been here, to the house, before...... I don't mind, who changes the dressings - but, I'm a bit happier, when it's a nurse, that I know !! It took longer,. to drive into the hospital, than it did, to have the dressings actually changed - oh well.... that's the way of things !!
Because of the Christmas holidays - things got a bit mixed up... hence the need to go to the hospital, on the weekend - never mind.... it did mean, however, that I could skip going down to the local nurses yesterday. There was no point, in having myself pulled about, on 2 days following !!
It also meant, that we had more time, to sort ourselves out - as I had to return to the hospital, in Taunton - to see one of the Consultants...... for a 12 month checkup. As it turned out - I saw one of the nurses, sooooo, that saved a bit of time.
I had met the nurse before - last year..... so, things were all sorted out & life will go on & on... until my next check up, in a few months time !! I have to do a couple of things - so, that's no biggy..... a bit messy, but no biggy !!
I think, given everything that has happened, over the last 18 months or so - the Consultant was quite happy, for me to have a quick check over..... bless them all !! I could of done, with out having another blood test, but - it was nothing new !!
So, that was yesterday..... back to the "music of the moment !!"

The postman has been - I have a little gift, from B... it's a World map - courtesy of The national Geographic Society. B has given me another year subscription & the map was one of the freebies that came along with it !!
Also - we have a brilliant 'photo of two of the World's best people...... T & R, from Utah.... bless them, they look really happy & it's a lovely picture !! If you read these words guys, many thanks - you look really happy !! Thank you !!
Just looking over, in the direction of our TV - '1,000,000 Years BC' is playing.... I think that's what it's called...... it looks really dated, given how good movies look now, with their monsters & stuff !! It was good at the time tho' !!
Right - I best be on my ways.... things to do & stuff !!
Actually, one thing to do !! I have to wrap up the Yes Cd, that came last week.... 'Like It Is'. As I wrote, at the time - it came with 2 copy's of Cd 2.... and was missing the DVD - so, I have to return that, to Amazon. It's no biggy, I have a return label - so, I just have to put it in an envelope & get it sent off.
Amazon have already replaced the thing..... which was quicker than I expected - so, I better return the original thing, or else, I'll get charged for it !! It's not the greatest album, that Yes have released - plus, as I wrote last week.... why no new tracks ?! If you want to listen to it, or you want to complete your collection - good enough.... otherwise - I would give it a miss..... it kind of sucks really !!
So - I will be on my ways....

Max Webster & Dream Theater... again !!
Greetings World's !!
How has your bit of this fine Universe treated you,. over the last couple of days - since I last put finger to keyboard ?! I hope you had time to, not only have some fine fun & stuff.... but, in some ways or another, had the time to think about the previous 12 months or so !!
Me ? Well...... I have had a fine couple of days !! So, I'll start with the family & work forward from there !! It's been a couple of days - since I last posted anything...... so, it'll be a little bit of a catch up !!
The family !!
Well, as I type, I'm home alone........ unless you count the odd cat, up on the bed !! B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has just gone over to the M & M's house..... from there, our Daughter - ME - is taking B up to Bristol (I think) to do a bit of shopping !! One of ME's favourite past times & one of B's pet hates !! Nevermind.... I'm sure they will have a great afternoon together !!
I was due to visit the hospital, this afternoon.... but, to be honest, I didn't really want to go !! Because of the Christmas break, I was meant to go & have my dressings changed again...... but, I got B to cancel that - leaving her chance to go out with ME & leaving me chance to skip a bit of pain !! Ho-hum !!
I'm not sure if I'll go, to the hospital - as I was today - tomorrow.... but, I'll wait & see. I got sooooo fed up, with all of the pain & stuff, last night - that I took all of the old dressings off & B put a small one on - just a temporary thing, which will need changing at some point - not today tho' !!
So - that's the ladies.... leaving me home, playing music, really loudly !! I'll get onto music, in a short while....... but, to begin with, back to Christmas day itself !!
Actually - I just took a quick break... to watch Germany beat Brazil 7-1 in the Summer's World Cup !! I am sorry to say this - but, that has to be one of the greatest World Cup games of all time - unless you're from Brazil that is !! Oh well..... buck to Christmas day !!
For only the 2nd time, since B & I have been together - we were home alone !! It was kind if sad... but, we knew that, one day, this would be the case - so....... !!
I did get up & fetch B a cup of (what she calls) tea & - I think - some breakfast...... I can't really remember !! I know tho' - that we sat there & watch The Muppet's 'Christmas Carol' !! It has become one of our few Christmas traditions... to watch the movie, together, every Christmas morning..... it's just brilliant !! We know all of the jokes & all of the little scenes... but, we really do love it to death !!
I'm not sure, exactly what time we came down stairs - but, it wasn't too late !! Unfortunately - B knew exactly what I had given her, for Christmas - mainly as we had gone shopping together, the day before & that's when she picked out what she wanted !! Oh well..... we still had some gifts to open, so......
I had 2 pressy's that I did know about - and they are fantastic !!
On the music side of things, B bought me a fantastic 12 inch picture disc of Dream Theater's 'Illumination Theory' !! I thought it was going to split, over the 2 sides of record.... nope - it's actually on only one side - with side 2 being completely empty. To say the least - it's blooming brilliant !!
I know - I have the Cd.... but, listening to the vinyl version is really an experience !! All 20+ minutes of the track are featured, sooooo there are no edits, or anything, to complain about !! I've probably played the thing 10 or more times, so far - it's well good !!
The 2nd gift, that I knew about - well.... that was a poster. To explain.... for first time readers - old readers, please skip ahead, for a
paragraph(s) !!
When I was sick, in hospital, last year - I talked B into taking a 'photo of my back - where the main problem area was. I was amazed by what I actually saw - and, to say the least, so has everybody else, who has been "brave" enough, to actually see the picture !!
It has become known, as "The Wow Picture" !! Nearly everybody, who sees the picture, honestly just says one word "Wow !!" I kid you not !! The 'photo has become a bit famous - with people, who visit, asking to see it.... sometimes over & over !! It's all very sick really !!
Anyhoo - for a very long time - I have told B... "I want a poster" made up, of the picture.... and, bless her heart, that's what she has done for me !! I am now the proud owner, of a 24 inch by 36 inch poster, of "The Wow Picture" !! It's absolutely brilliant - it really is !!
I now have this fantastic picture - but, where I'm going to hang it, well.... I have no real clue !! It has to be out of the way - as I don't want to put people off of their Cornflakes (M) - but, it needs to be framed & then put someplace safe - so that it doesn't spoil !! It's fantastic...... maybe I'll show the Consultant, see what he thinks of it all..... not much, I doubt !!
So, that were the 2 gifts, that I knew B was giving me..... but, she also stuck a surprise in, just to give me something extra !! It's a really nicely bound book set, called 'Inside HBO's Game Of Thrones Seasons 1-4' !! It's really good - almost too good..... I'm afraid to look at it, incase I mess up any of the pages !!
Considering, that last year, I knew bugger all, about 'Game Of Thrones' - until the M & M's gave me 'Book 1' - which I read in the hospital... followed by books 2 & 3..... well, I'm well & truly hooked now !! This thing that B gave me, it really is nice..... it will give me something to read, over & over, during the coming months !! Great stuff...
Staying with 'Game Of Thrones' the M & M's gave me a T-shirt of 'Mr Tyrion' - which is based on the whole 'Mister Men' books & stuff...... it's really smart & I will enjoy wearing that, in the hospital, in February - it's really great !! I'll enjoy wearing that one.......
I also got a book of pictures, mostly taken by the Hubble space telescope & some chocolates - so, if you add in some things, that I have forgotten about.... it was a nice couple of days really !!
As for the music of the moment - I'm listening to some tracks, bt Dream Theater - which, for my sins, I'm putting onto the latest "mix Cd's". So far, I've listened to:
1) Battle Scar
2) Status Seeker
3) The YTSE Jam
4) Light Fuse & Get Away
5) Afterlife
6) The Ones Who Help Set The Sun
Ok - track one isn't by Dream Theater... it's the mighty Max Webster...... but, everything else (I think) is by Dream Theater !! I've written everything down, someplace - so, it'll all come together, at some point !!
I've recorded 3 Cd's - so far..... and, I'm sure, I will have some more to do... over the coming days. It's all a bit of fun & keeps me off the streets !! I have no real clue, just how many Cd's I'm going to record - but, that's part of the fun - not knowing what is going to happen
next ?!
I have just "clicked" - to day is a Saturday !! I have completely lost track of the days... I really have !! I can tell you tho' - on Monday, I have to report to the hospital, to see one of my Consultants. I really like this lady - she is brilliant & I think we get on well - as things are - together !!
I see her, when things get bad - or, when she needs to keep an eye on me & how things are going. Monday's visit is one of the latter.... just a check up, to see how thing are !! I have a couple of things to report on - but, those are mostly related to my problems, with my back wound & it's refusal to heal over !! It's all good & we'll get it sorted out, at some point in the future, I'm certain of that !!
So - I guess, that's about that.....
Today is December 27th - we are fast approaching another year's end. It's been quite a year really...... better than last year (2013) & hopefully worse that the new one (2015) !! It's been a real test of endurance... one I would have failed, had I not had B, to help me thru' the low times.......
So - I will away for now & try, once more, to tidy up this mess, on my computer desk !! I keep promising myself, that I will keep it clean & find a home, for all of the Cd's - that, from to time, find themselves in front of me...... maybe today will be that day, when they go back, to the shelves they should live on !!
So - I will away & - if I don't get chance, wish you all a "Happy New Year"...... I might drop a few lines, into this old blog of mine, before the start of the new one.... but, I'll see how things go...

I thought it was going to split, over the 2 sides of record.... nope - it's actually on only one side - with side 2 being completely empty. To say the least - it's blooming brilliant !!
I know - I have the Cd.... but, listening to the vinyl version is really an experience !! All 20+ minutes of the track are featured, sooooo there are no edits, or anything, to complain about !! I've probably played the thing 10 or more times, so far - it's well good !!
The 2nd gift, that I knew about - well.... that was a poster. To explain.... for first time readers - old readers, please skip ahead, for a
paragraph(s) !!
When I was sick, in hospital, last year - I talked B into taking a 'photo of my back - where the main problem area was. I was amazed by what I actually saw - and, to say the least, so has everybody else, who has been "brave" enough, to actually see the picture !!
It has become known, as "The Wow Picture" !! Nearly everybody, who sees the picture, honestly just says one word "Wow !!" I kid you not !! The 'photo has become a bit famous - with people, who visit, asking to see it.... sometimes over & over !! It's all very sick really !!
Anyhoo - for a very long time - I have told B... "I want a poster" made up, of the picture.... and, bless her heart, that's what she has done for me !! I am now the proud owner, of a 24 inch by 36 inch poster, of "The Wow Picture" !! It's absolutely brilliant - it really is !!
I now have this fantastic picture - but, where I'm going to hang it, well.... I have no real clue !! It has to be out of the way - as I don't want to put people off of their Cornflakes (M) - but, it needs to be framed & then put someplace safe - so that it doesn't spoil !! It's fantastic...... maybe I'll show the Consultant, see what he thinks of it all..... not much, I doubt !!
So, that were the 2 gifts, that I knew B was giving me..... but, she also stuck a surprise in, just to give me something extra !! It's a really nicely bound book set, called 'Inside HBO's Game Of Thrones Seasons 1-4' !! It's really good - almost too good..... I'm afraid to look at it, incase I mess up any of the pages !!
Considering, that last year, I knew bugger all, about 'Game Of Thrones' - until the M & M's gave me 'Book 1' - which I read in the hospital... followed by books 2 & 3..... well, I'm well & truly hooked now !! This thing that B gave me, it really is nice..... it will give me something to read, over & over, during the coming months !! Great stuff...
Staying with 'Game Of Thrones' the M & M's gave me a T-shirt of 'Mr Tyrion' - which is based on the whole 'Mister Men' books & stuff...... it's really smart & I will enjoy wearing that, in the hospital, in February - it's really great !! I'll enjoy wearing that one.......
I also got a book of pictures, mostly taken by the Hubble space telescope & some chocolates - so, if you add in some things, that I have forgotten about.... it was a nice couple of days really !!
As for the music of the moment - I'm listening to some tracks, bt Dream Theater - which, for my sins, I'm putting onto the latest "mix Cd's". So far, I've listened to:

Ok - track one isn't by Dream Theater... it's the mighty Max Webster...... but, everything else (I think) is by Dream Theater !! I've written everything down, someplace - so, it'll all come together, at some point !!
I've recorded 3 Cd's - so far..... and, I'm sure, I will have some more to do... over the coming days. It's all a bit of fun & keeps me off the streets !! I have no real clue, just how many Cd's I'm going to record - but, that's part of the fun - not knowing what is going to happen
next ?!
I have just "clicked" - to day is a Saturday !! I have completely lost track of the days... I really have !! I can tell you tho' - on Monday, I have to report to the hospital, to see one of my Consultants. I really like this lady - she is brilliant & I think we get on well - as things are - together !!
I see her, when things get bad - or, when she needs to keep an eye on me & how things are going. Monday's visit is one of the latter.... just a check up, to see how thing are !! I have a couple of things to report on - but, those are mostly related to my problems, with my back wound & it's refusal to heal over !! It's all good & we'll get it sorted out, at some point in the future, I'm certain of that !!
So - I guess, that's about that.....
Today is December 27th - we are fast approaching another year's end. It's been quite a year really...... better than last year (2013) & hopefully worse that the new one (2015) !! It's been a real test of endurance... one I would have failed, had I not had B, to help me thru' the low times.......
So - I will away for now & try, once more, to tidy up this mess, on my computer desk !! I keep promising myself, that I will keep it clean & find a home, for all of the Cd's - that, from to time, find themselves in front of me...... maybe today will be that day, when they go back, to the shelves they should live on !!
So - I will away & - if I don't get chance, wish you all a "Happy New Year"...... I might drop a few lines, into this old blog of mine, before the start of the new one.... but, I'll see how things go...

Have a great day tomorrow.. !!
Greetings World's !!
On the way here - if you come from the town - there is the cemetery, on the left hand side..... you can't really miss it. Anyways - near to the road, there is this little fenced off area.... where all of the children, who have died, are burred.
Ir's got this little wooden fence around it.... and, it's one of the saddest parts of the drive home.... as the little graves have balloons & teddy bears etc etc, all around them - left by the parents & what have you.
Each & every time, that we go by, I am reminded of a day, as we drove into town.... there was a funeral, and the little baby's coffin was being carried by a lady. The coffin was white & it was sooooo small.
It was as if, the Mother was carrying the baby, to it's resting spot, in the cemetery........ she had carried it, all the way, up it's birth & then she was carrying it, that last few yards, to it's grave. I'm always reminded of that day - especially when I see new things, left in the children's area.
So - why am I writing about it, today ?!
It's Christmas Eve........ and, altho' we feel (at times) that life has treated us badly - there are people, in our village & then on to the towns, who have had it far worse !! So, spare a thought - for all of those people, who have more problems than your self.
It's going to be Christmas, tomorrow - the day our Lord came into this World. It's a time to be happy & get together with those family & friends, who want to be with you. It's also a time, to think of those who have had it far worse than yourself !!
It's just a thought..... I just wanted to share it with you - as B & I went, into town, this morning.... and we went past the cemetery !! Oh well.... moving on !!
As I type, I'm on my own - apart from the odd cat. It's really cold, outside..... I know this, mainly as I've just come home from having my dressings changed again !! I made the mistake of not wearing a coat, when I went outside - sooooo, the cold really got a hold of me !! My fault - I should of taken a coat or something, rather than going down, in my T-shirt !! Nevermind !!
B has just left, to head off, into town - mainly to drop the M & M's Christmas gifts off + to pick up a couple of things, that we forgot this morning, when we went shopping !!
We went in, at about 9am.... to beat the mad rush, that usually happens, later in the day. Unfortunately, we forgot a couple of things... like you do !! Oh well - B will drop off the couple of gifts, then pick up the things - providing the supermarkets aren't too crowded !! She should be home, in maybe half an hour or so.... time will tell !!
As for the music of the moment... I'm listening to the last studio album, that Yes put out.... 'Heaven & Earth'. The new singer, Jon Davison, can carry a tune.... but, after all the years, with Jon Anderson on vocals - it really sounds a bit weird, hearing JD sing.... very much like JA singing - but, just a shade differently !!
I know they've had troubles, with singers.... but.... it's still a good album !! It also leads on, to a Cd, that came in the post today.... it's called 'Like It Is' and, as far as I know, is the very latest live album, by Yes !!
It was recorded on May 11th this year, at The Bristol Hippodrome.... which, I guess, is about 50 miles from here. It's not the World's biggest concert hall.... but, having seen a few bands there - most memorably Lynyrd Skynyrd - it's a great place for getting some atmosphere going, with the audience !!
I was expecting the Cd's.... but, I wasn't expecting the DVD of the show, that came with it !! I'm glad about that - mainly as, when I opened the polythene wrapping, it turned out that, instead of 2 Cd's & a DVD... I actually got 3 Cd's !! Unfortunately - I have 2 copies of Cd 2..... instead of the DVD !!
The thing came from Amazon - and, I don't think, I've ever had a cock up like this before !! All very strange !! I did check - to see if it was a DVD & not just a label problem.... but, nope... I have two copies of the same disc !! Bummer !!
So, this morning, I've e-mailed Amazon... mainly to check what to do with this package.... did they want to have it back, then send me a replacement - or do I get a credit note & have to re-order it ?! All very strange & very new to me.... it's usually a messed up Cd.. not something like this !!

I pick up lots & lots of 'live' albums... so, a new track or 2, on said 'live' albums, would - if I like it - set me on course, to buy the studio album, that went with it..... not this one tho' !! It's just a bunch of 11 tracks, which I think, are on various albums, released by the band, over the years !! Nevermind... it was a Christmas pressy.... sooooo - I've not missed out too much !! I will let you know, about the spare Cd.... I might give it away..... !!
Ok - I must be on my ways.... B has 'phoned, to say she is on her ways home.... so, it's time for me to get off of this keyboard & maybe make her a hot drink, for when she gets here !!

Joe Cocker RIP.
Hi again...
There has been some very sad news, on the TV - as I type, here in England... at about 6pm.
In Glasgow - a truck has crashed - killing at least 6 people & injuring many others. Our Prayers go out, to all of the families involve...... Bless them all.
I have also just heard, that Joe Cocker - one of the greatest singers, to come out of the 60's - and still playing, right up to June, in London (I think)....... Everybody has mentioned his version, of the Beatles hit... 'With A Little Help From My Friends' - but, he spent sooooo many years, playing shows & recording albums.
His place in "Rock History" will be forever - with his place, in the 'Woodstock' movie !! For a person of my age, Joe really did blast away the cobwebs !! He has now died, at the age of 70 - for me, he will be missed......
Thoughts & Prayers out to all, involved in any loss, this day....until next time.....

14, 998 & counting... ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
I am at a bit of a mile stone, as far as this old blog of mine is
concerned !! I am up to 14,998 page views.... 2 short of the magic 15,000 mark !! "Wow" !!
When I started this, back in March of 2010, I never dreamed my words would be read, by so many people & in so many countries, around this old World of ours !! I thank you all, for taking the time, to log in & read my words..... one day, as I've said before - I might actually write something worth reading !! That would be a first..... 15,000 !!
Ok - it's another Sunday.... I should be at Church - but, which one ?! The Bishop has made no effort, to contact me, since I last saw him..... a little over 18 months ago. Sooooo - as I still feel, that I'm owed an apology, for keeping me confined, in his office..... well - it's unlikely I will be ever welcomed back there, with open arms - I guess I will content myself, with my own personal happiness & leave things at that !!
We actually had an invite, to a Christmas party - that one part of The Church - held on Friday evening..... it was nice to be invited, even tho' - as far as I was concerned, it was not in our area !! Also - after quite a number of years, as members of The Church..... they still spell our name wrong !! Oh well - moving right along.....
Right - as I type... My Wife & Dearest Friend... B has gone over to a neighbours, for a hot drink & a bit of a chin-wag, no doubt !! So - that leaves me, home alone.... listening to Dream Theater's 'When Dream & Day Unite'.
As mentioned before - I'm putting together a bit of a "mix tape" collection & - I thought - I would use one or five of the tracks, on this album, The problem is - which 5 tracks ?! I've done too many of these mix thingy's, over the years - I honestly forget which tracks I've already used, on one or more of the others !! Nevermind..... I've decided to kick the Cd off, with Max Webster's 'Battle Scar' - I couldn't decide on a Dream Theater track.... so, this one will do !!
B has just back.... so, I'm no longer on my ownsome !!
A little later - our daughter, ME, is paying us a visit...... I'm not sure when - B seems to think she is going to be here, at some point "as far as she knows" !! Time will tell, on that one, I guess....... I've changed the music, over to Dream Theater's 'The Glass Prison' - it's rocking along, quite nicely !!
Ok - I better think of closing this down, for today at least !! I've not got anything special to do, this afternoon - but... I have all afternoon, to mess around with - so, life is good !!

Out of the mouths of babes..... Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
It's a warmish Saturday, here in the wilds of England !! The weather people, a few days ago, were saying it's been the warmest year, since records were started !! Ok - I must admit - the situation has changed.... but, last Summer - sitting in the hospital, with the windows open & a 12 inch fan blowing over me..... well, I think the Summer was cooler this year !! What do I know.... as I say, the situation has changed !!
Moving right along...
As I type, B is behind me.... doing a bit of housework. I did the dishes & odds & ends... but, B is just finishing things off for us. There are sooooo many/few things that I can do !! I don't mind - when I'm able - doing the dishes... I sit on my little white stool thingy.... it's quite comfortable really !!
Anyhoo - that was all done & dusted, a few minutes or so ago..... now, I'm sat here, listening to a Robert Plant concert - from the 'iTunes Festival'.... I think that's what it was called..... earlier this year - I'm not 100% sure of the date (?)... it's really been a good listen !! My thanks to a friend for sending the DVD to me.... the tracks are:

It's strange - in a weird kind of way.... I wasn't expecting too much... but, I was really surprised how good it was !! At the moment 'Whole Lotta Love' is playing.... with the 'Who Do You Love' section, stuck in the middle.... well, good !!
I must - at some point - put all of the Robert Plant stuff, that I have around & about the place, onto some form of Cd.... I just have to find everything & sort it all out. Apart from the 2014 stuff - I have some radio broadcasts, going way back thru' various years.... I just need to find them & put them together !! Easier said than done - mainly as I have no real idea, where the various things are !! Oh well.... I'll try & get around to doing it, over the coming months/years - depending how you think about it !!

Please, don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff instead.... but, this is a good show & one to put in the collection !! I've had the audience recording 'It'll Be Zep' for a number of years now.... so, to actually get the s/b recording, after all of these years - well.... it's really good !!
Add to the above - I've picked up copies of 'Heaven & Earth' - I think, the latest release from Yes... a 'Platinum Collection' by Alicia Keys - featuring 3 of her albums. 'Songs In A Minor' - The Diary Of Alicia Keys' & 'As I Am'..... as yet I've not played any of those.... plus... a must at this time of year 'We Wish You A Metal Xmas' - a collection of Christmas songs, featuring some of the World's great metal masters !! Heck - it's all good.... a bit of fun !!
I also managed to find a copy of Colosseum's 'Theme For A Reunion' - a live get together 2 Cd set.... I think I've done all of those tracks before... and will probably do them all again !! Anyhoo - I'll leave them, for today.... move onto one of the funniest & - in some ways - a bit of "I told you so" !!
As many of long time readers will know - I do not get on, with the neighbour, who lives over to our left. To be fair - she has fallen out with most of us, the people who live at this end of the close, since she moved in !!
A few years or so ago, she had a snap at our Daughter - ME - about her driving & the speed that she drove into the close. To say the least - she is a loud mouthed, bitch of a woman !! To also say the least - she is big & very "in your face" - especially when she gets angry, which (to be honest) seems to be her default setting !!
To have a go at ME - it made me sooooo mad - especially as her anger was directed at me. Earlier that day, after 3 weeks of finding our drive blocked by trucks, while they worked next door, I had a moan at the Husband about how fed up I was with the situation !!
So - after ME came in, I shouted, at the top of my lungs, that I was "fed up with the fat cow" !! She was at our door step, within seconds - threatening me, with court action & all kinds of hell !! Since that day - thankfully, she hasn't said 3 words to me..... if she did, I would probably ignore her.... she is that kind of woman !!
Anyhoo....... this week, she had a child, at the school, where she works, went up to her & said.... "You have to be the fattest woman in the Universe" !! I kid you not..... out of the mouths of babes, comes - as it goes - the honest truth !!
There is no reason, for her being overweight.... she is just huge !! If anything - since she's lived here - she has got bigger !! Sooooo - to have a child say that to her, no matter how much it hurt her feelings, has to have brought home "the truth" !!
The child was made to say "sorry" - which, I think, stinks !! Whoever said it, has to be less than 11 years old.... so, as we all know, children say what they think..... sometimes it hurts - but, more often than not - what they say, is exactly what they have on their minds !! Bless them !!
Maybe now - just maybe - she will "lighten up" in more ways than another !! Life goes on...... making the kid say "sorry"..... I think that was too much !! But - it has made us all smile..... ho-hum !!
Right... I better be on my ways..... things to do & all night to do them in !! No, really.... I'm just going to sit back & rest - I woke up, thinking it was Sunday ?! It turned out to be Saturday - so, I gained a day !! Life is really good...... I must go....

It's a warmish Saturday, here in the wilds of England !! The weather people, a few days ago, were saying it's been the warmest year, since records were started !! Ok - I must admit - the situation has changed.... but, last Summer - sitting in the hospital, with the windows open & a 12 inch fan blowing over me..... well, I think the Summer was cooler this year !! What do I know.... as I say, the situation has changed !!

As I type, B is behind me.... doing a bit of housework. I did the dishes & odds & ends... but, B is just finishing things off for us. There are sooooo many/few things that I can do !! I don't mind - when I'm able - doing the dishes... I sit on my little white stool thingy.... it's quite comfortable really !!
Anyhoo - that was all done & dusted, a few minutes or so ago..... now, I'm sat here, listening to a Robert Plant concert - from the 'iTunes Festival'.... I think that's what it was called..... earlier this year - I'm not 100% sure of the date (?)... it's really been a good listen !! My thanks to a friend for sending the DVD to me.... the tracks are:

It's strange - in a weird kind of way.... I wasn't really thinking too much, about the concert - I just wanted something, playing in the background, as I was doing the dishes.... however, after a really good version of 'Black Dog' & then onto 'Rainbow' - well, I really started to get into the whole thing !!
I wasn't expecting too much... but, I was really surprised how good it was !! At the moment 'Whole Lotta Love' is playing.... with the 'Who Do You Love' section, stuck in the middle.... well, good !!
I must - at some point - put all of the Robert Plant stuff, that I have around & about the place, onto some form of Cd.... I just have to find everything & sort it all out. Apart from the 2014 stuff - I have some radio broadcasts, going way back thru' various years.... I just need to find them & put them together !! Easier said than done - mainly as I have no real idea, where the various things are !! Oh well.... I'll try & get around to doing it, over the coming months/years - depending how you think about it !!

Please, don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff instead.... but, this is a good show & one to put in the collection !! I've had the audience recording 'It'll Be Zep' for a number of years now.... so, to actually get the s/b recording, after all of these years - well.... it's really good !!
Add to the above - I've picked up copies of 'Heaven & Earth' - I think, the latest release from Yes... a 'Platinum Collection' by Alicia Keys - featuring 3 of her albums. 'Songs In A Minor' - The Diary Of Alicia Keys' & 'As I Am'..... as yet I've not played any of those.... plus... a must at this time of year 'We Wish You A Metal Xmas' - a collection of Christmas songs, featuring some of the World's great metal masters !! Heck - it's all good.... a bit of fun !!
I also managed to find a copy of Colosseum's 'Theme For A Reunion' - a live get together 2 Cd set.... I think I've done all of those tracks before... and will probably do them all again !! Nightwish...... & other stuff !!
Greetings World's !!
How are you all keeping, in your part of this fine Universe ?! It's a Thursday - here in England... about 12 noon & I've been out of bed, oh... about 15 minutes !! I'm not being lazy - well, maybe just a little - I'm just catching up on some of my sleep !! It seems that, for night after night, that I'm awake around the 1am mark and, for the life of me, I struggle to get back to "noddy land" !!
How ever - last night, things seem to have got back to some kind of normal..... I feel like I actually got a good rest !! Mind you - taking my morning pills, well.... they always knock me right out..... hence, I've not been awake, overly long !!
The temptation, to just roll over & go back to sleep, was there - but, the "force was strong with this one" & I got myself up & dressed !! It helps, that in a couple or three hours, the Missionaries are coming around..... so, I needed to be awake for their visit !!
I'm home alone, for most of the day....... My Wife & Dearest Friend - B - has gone up to visit her Dad & Auntie. Being Christmas, in a couple of weeks, she has taken some small gifts up to them & to say hello. I'm not sure, exactly what time she will be home... but, I'm guessing it won't be for a couple of hours.
So - the music of the moment, is blasting away nicely !!
I've been on a bit of a Nightwish "kick" over the last couple of days.... at the moment, I'm listening to their last (I think) live album 'Showtime, Storytime'. I think it was recorded, last year, at the Wacken Festival...... I can't really remember !! Anyhoo - it has Floor Jansen on vocals, so.....
I did manage to clear up the table - putting most of the Cd's away - now, of course, it's loaded down again !! The usual suspects - Dream Theater, Within Temptation etc etc...... I will put them all away, again, at some point.... not today tho' !!
I have a few things to do.... sooooo, I will make this a short post & head off to the kitchen, where some dishes are waiting for me !! There aren't that many - but, I would like to get them done & dusted, before B gets home again !!

Monday & lots of music. Life is good !!
Greetings World's !!
How is your bit of the Universe treating you, this clear, cold day ?! It's the start of another week, here in our neck of England's South-West corner...... as I look out, over to the sea - the tide must be almost all the ways in, as the water is really bright !! Well - if you can call grey, with Sunlight, a colour resembling "bright" ?! Nevermind....
It's a Monday.... and there are just the 2 of us, at home, as I type. B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is upstairs, working on some more Christmas cards. It seems, from what she told me earlier - we might actually have some left over this year !! That will be a first...... usually, come the last minute, B is frantically finding odd cards, to send to people we have forgotten about !!
This past 7 months, give or take, B has had her "Craft Cave" up & running....... and, bless her, she has really got the whole card making bug, down to a fine art !! Altho' - we both miss our Daughter, not living here.... but, her bedroom has been converted over to B's craft room & she seems well happy with it !!
Talking of our Daughter..... the beautiful ME was here, yesterday, for a couple of hours. Being a Sunday - M's Dad went over to their place, to watch football - which left ME to come here & sit with us, for a few hours.
It worked out, pretty well.... B & her were able to grab Smudge, our oldest cat & they gave him a quick bath !! It must be getting easier - it only took 15 minutes !! The first time, when J was home still - well, it was a really long, drawn out process.... now, he is either getting used to it.... or, more likely, he has given up the fight !! Oh well - he sure does look better, for having his wash !!
I think, from what B was saying, this morning, ME is now working the rest of this week.... but, if all goes to plan, she will be off work, for the whole of the next week end. That's good - I always worry about her doing too much !!
I mentioned J - our Son..... he is still over in Wales, doing his Uni course. He won't be coming back this way, over the Christmas - or anytime soon..... I guess. It's his life - as long as he is happy, what the heck ?!
I'm pretty certain, that he still hates my guts - but, I can live with that !! He did say he would take his Christmas gift - rather than turning it "into another thing" !! That was kind of him...... if only he would realise, just how much he is hurting his Mum !! Oh well...... it's up to him !!
I did feel like letting rip & writing a warts & all kind of e-mail.... but, in the end, I pressed the erase button & didn't send it. There didn't seem to be any point - he hates my guts, he has his own life & that's all there is too it..... I had hoped 2015 would see a breaking down of the wall, that surrounds us - but, judging how 2014 is ending, I can't see that happening in anyway soon !!

It's Dream Theater's 'Black Clouds & Silver Linings' album !! I'm trying out a few things - a few tracks.... to see which ones are going to fit onto my next "mix" Cd's !! As I'm not doing too much, this afternoon - I'm just playing a few things & putting the timer, on them..... just to work out, which tracks are going on the final Cd's !!
It's all a bit of fun - but, I enjoy doing it & it really does take my mind off the various aches & pains I have !! Of course - so does the morphine..... but, I can only take just sooooo much of that, with-out feeling too stoned to concentrate !! Life is good !!
The actual "final" mix of Cd's - well..... they are bound to be a right collection of stuff !! From Dream Theater - thru' Within Temptation, Nightwish & some others, which - at the moment, I've not even thought too much about !! Ho-hum...

Oh - I forgot..... I actually transferred the DVD soundtrack of Dream Theater's 'Breaking The Forth Wall' over to Cd. I am still hoping the band will release it officially, but - for now - I will make do with the transfer !!
As I've written before.... I'm going back into hospital, on February 9th (I think) - sooooo, unless I can find the official Cd's by then.... I will put my copy, onto the Mini Egg & listen to that !! From what I've heard, it's come out really good - it landed up on 3 Cd's.... but, that's Ok.... as long as it plays Ok, I'm happy !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs.... buy the official stuff !! There are so many albums out there, so spend your cash on those !!
Going back, to last Friday night.... I made a complete cock-up of closing the living room curtains - which left me, with the whole curtain rail down, on my head & the 2 curtains, all over the floor !!
It was about 5 ish, when this happened - so, I talked B into helping me fix up a temporary curtain, using the rail & curtains, from J's bedroom. Ok - they were not long enough - but, it saved rushing into town, try in find a new rail & trying to fix it up, that night !!
On Saturday, we went into Wilkinson's (a general store) - found the rail we needed & when we got home, with the aid of far too many pain killers, I helped B sort out the replacement !! Of course - I've just remembered - I've still to put J's curtains back up..... but, that can wait for another day !!
I think - and I'm probably wrong - doing all of the above, with the curtains, pulled the dressings a bit..... so, B kindly put a temporary one, over the top of the old one....... which had only been fitted that day !!
I was all set, to say a "sorry" to the nurse, this morning...... for messing up her workmanship, but - as it turned out - she wasn't there !!
There are 4 nurses, who come to our local Dr's & do dressings... well, my dressings at least. One man, who only comes now & again, to fill in + 3 ladies, who I see on a regular basis - depending on what day it is.
Well, today - things must of been all out of order..... the Thursday nurse was there !! All kind of strange..... but, nevermind - she did the job & it didn't hurt any more, or any less than normal - for that, I was really pleased !!
Everybody seems to be happy, with the ways things are going - so...... roll on 2015 & hopefully, as I've said before - I can have my last surgery & put it all behind me !! Life is good..... I'm just a little greedy & want to have it, just a shade better !!

I'm not really sure about the name change - 'Lost Angel'/Lost Angeles' - maybe it's a bit of a typo ? I really don't know !! I will have to make some room, on the iPod thing - to fit everything in !! Ho-hum....
Oh - I forgot..... I actually transferred the DVD soundtrack of Dream Theater's 'Breaking The Forth Wall' over to Cd. I am still hoping the band will release it officially, but - for now - I will make do with the transfer !!
As I've written before.... I'm going back into hospital, on February 9th (I think) - sooooo, unless I can find the official Cd's by then.... I will put my copy, onto the Mini Egg & listen to that !! From what I've heard, it's come out really good - it landed up on 3 Cd's.... but, that's Ok.... as long as it plays Ok, I'm happy !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs.... buy the official stuff !! There are so many albums out there, so spend your cash on those !!
Going back, to last Friday night.... I made a complete cock-up of closing the living room curtains - which left me, with the whole curtain rail down, on my head & the 2 curtains, all over the floor !!
It was about 5 ish, when this happened - so, I talked B into helping me fix up a temporary curtain, using the rail & curtains, from J's bedroom. Ok - they were not long enough - but, it saved rushing into town, try in find a new rail & trying to fix it up, that night !!
On Saturday, we went into Wilkinson's (a general store) - found the rail we needed & when we got home, with the aid of far too many pain killers, I helped B sort out the replacement !! Of course - I've just remembered - I've still to put J's curtains back up..... but, that can wait for another day !!
I think - and I'm probably wrong - doing all of the above, with the curtains, pulled the dressings a bit..... so, B kindly put a temporary one, over the top of the old one....... which had only been fitted that day !!
I was all set, to say a "sorry" to the nurse, this morning...... for messing up her workmanship, but - as it turned out - she wasn't there !!
There are 4 nurses, who come to our local Dr's & do dressings... well, my dressings at least. One man, who only comes now & again, to fill in + 3 ladies, who I see on a regular basis - depending on what day it is.
Well, today - things must of been all out of order..... the Thursday nurse was there !! All kind of strange..... but, nevermind - she did the job & it didn't hurt any more, or any less than normal - for that, I was really pleased !!
Everybody seems to be happy, with the ways things are going - so...... roll on 2015 & hopefully, as I've said before - I can have my last surgery & put it all behind me !! Life is good..... I'm just a little greedy & want to have it, just a shade better !!
Back to music.... I'm playing the bonus disc, from 'Black Clouds & Silver Linings'.... the tracks are:

"Streets Of Boston" ?! Ho-hum...
Greetings World's....
I really hope your Universe is treating you well, this fine day ?! It's kind of warm here - just overcast & damp....... a bit of a bummer. I must admit, I kind of have a thing, about my ol' bones & wet weather - it seems they always ache more !! Nevermind.....
"The Family"
As I type, B is behind me, making the first batch of today's mince pies !! The smell, which is coming thru' the rest of the house, is really, really special !! I'm not sure how many she is cooking today - but, I know a few will be going to other people. It's something she does, at this time of year - giving away pies, especially to people, here in the close, where we live.
I know P - Murphy The Bear's owner will get some..... plus a lovely girl, who is coming around later, to cut our hair - well, the list goes on !! Remember tho' - Mince pies are for life - not just for Christmas !! We have them, all thru' the year - we really do !!
I think our Daughter - ME - is coming over, this evening - so.... I guess she will take some home with her, sooooo, no matter how many My Wife & Dearest Friend makes... they will all get eaten !! Life is good !!
Our Son - J - is over in Wales, doing his Uni course.... which is a big shame - mainly as he would help me eat the pies !! Oh well - if you read this J - they smell really good !! Take care.....

Well - for my sins... I am listening to Glen Campbell, doing a Beach Boys medley !! Honestly !! It's no biggy... I put it on the deck, mainly to give B a bit of a laugh....... she is smiling a lot, so I guess it's working !! It's all a bit of fun....
If you get, check out Mr Campbell's last studio album..... from about 2012/2013. It's called Ghost In The Canvas' or something - it's really, really good !! I'm not a great fan - but, as always, I'm ready to give anybody's music a chance !!
Which leads onto this morning's post bag & the arrival of Led Zeppelin's 'Texas Hurricane' bootleg, which a kind person - who I honestly don't know - has sent me !!
It was recorded in the Tarrant Convention Center, Fort Worth. Texas on May 22nd 1977. As yet - well..... I'll give it a listen, just as soon as Mr C's Cd finishes !! It's a small price to pay - letting B have a bit of fun, before the heavy stuff starts !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs..... if someone is out there, with a boot.... get them to give you a copy !! By the official stuff !! I'm pretty sure what this boot has on it.... but, I'll give it a listen first, before putting in a track listing !!
I just took a break.... time to top up on the morphine !! I keep telling B, "I need a new back" - to which the reply, always, comes back "You've had one" !! It might be new - but it still bloody hurts !! Not to worry.....
....... in 2 months, I will be in the hospital, having let the plastic surgeon do his best to cure the problems !! I knew the risk, when I went into the operating theatre, back in 2013.... it's just taking a bit longer to fix, that's all !! Hopefully, February's surgery will be the last - "oh look, a flying pig !!"
I might have mentioned this before - but M...... my Son-In-Law (Ok - I know they're not actually married) sorted out a new keyboard for me... it's really fantastic !! Giving my old age & lack of keyboard skills, this new one is brilliant !! It lights up & everything !! Brilliant - many thanks M !!
I must admit, compared to my old keyboard - well, anything would of been an improvement.... but, this one - well, it's truly brilliant !! Hopefully I won't break it - that would be a bummer !!
I've been messing around, with computers, for a goodly number of years - but, I'm still finding new things !! I don't have a clue, I really don't, as to what all of these "F" buttons do - but..... it's still a great keyboard, thanks M !! Sounds like someone of a James Bond movie !! Oh well.....
Just listening, to this Zeppelin bootleg.... unusually, the guys had to re-start 'In My Time Of Dying' !! That's a bit weird..... there aren't too many shows, where they've messed up !! I must make room, for it, on the Mini Egg....... my iPod thingy. I'll take some older stuff off & give some other albums a chance !!
At the moment, there are 30,210 tracks, on the Egg.... some of which are up to an hour in length, sooooo - I'll find some to remove & then I can play some "new" stuff, when I'm stuck in hospital again !! Great stuff !! Of course - it'll take me a while, deciding which albums to
remove !! I'll sort it out - one day !!
Just sticking with music... yesterday, bless her little cotton socks - B put a deposit down, on the complete Allman Brothers' '2014 Box' !! I really am one of the luckiest husbands on this 3rd rock from the Sun !!
I don't think it will be available, until January or February....... but, it's one heck of a gift !! I can't really take it in - with the guys calling a halt, after 45 years, to the band.... but, I can understand why. Like the rest of us - we've seen too many Moons & things aren't what they used to be.... still a great band tho' !!
Gregg Allman is booked, to do a one off show - towards the end of July 2015, down near Maidstone. Alas - I won't be making it..... seeing the guy, in 2011, was great.... but, it would be good to see him again - not this time around tho'........
I was just thinking.... dangerous, I know....... but, it's going to be a "New Year" soon - time to try & make amends, for all of the stuff, that I didn't do this year !!
I guess - the big one - would be, to try, to get things together, with our Son J !! That would be great.... but, you can lead a horse to water etc etc.
I also have a Son, from my first marriage...... he'll be 30 next year !! The last time, that we wrote to him, the letter came back "no longer at this address" - that was a bummer !!
But.... I've been back in contact, with my own Brother this year & my little Sister....... after quite a spell of not knowing how they were getting on, sooooo - maybe I can find out where my Son is !! I know it's over in Canada, somewhere.... but.... !!
Of course - I always decide, for New Year, to try & sort out all of the Cd's !! I make a start & usually get quite a ways into them...... but, never seem to finish the job !! Every year, there are more & more albums....... maybe 2015 will be the year, that things come together & they all get put in some kind of order !! Time will tell, on that one.... ho-hum !!
Right - I better think about doing something else !! With our hair cuts, this evening & ME coming around.... well, it's going to be a fun evening !! Sooooo - I must make a plan, on what I'm going to do, before it gets too late & I fall asleep again !!

Never Again !!
Greetings World's !!
It's been a few days - 4 I think - since I last posted anything..... so, I'm sorry about that !! To say the least.... well, more of that later - first the family !!
As I type, B.... My Wife & Dearest Friend..... is behind me, in our kitchen area. From time to time, the sliding door opens, mainly to let one or more of our 4 cats, go in & out..... I think, also, she is trying to keep this part of our homestead, a little warmer - it's really cold, in the kitchen, yet B is out there, just in a T-shirt !! Normally, it's me in the vest type things & B is all wrapped up...... not today tho' !!
So - where have I been & why "Never Again" ?!
Well - it's simple really & it's all my fault...... I made the stupid mistake of having a "flu jab" last Friday, while I was having my dressings changed. It made sense - I knew, at that time, that I was going back to the hospital, sometime.... so, as they would probably would of insisted on my having the jab, before going in - I went ahead & had it done !!
Now then, in the past - everytime I've had a "flue jab" - I have always felt like crap, afterwards.... well, once again, it's happened all over !! It's my own fault - I shouldn't of gone thru' with it.... !! By Saturday, I started to feel like crap.... so, I went to bed that night & - in all honesty - today is the first day that I've felt like getting out of bed & doing anything !!
Sooooo - once again...... "Never Again" !! I kind of knew I was making a dumb mistake, based on previous experiences - but !! Nevermind - it's over & done with now, but... I will know (again) for the next time !!
As for the hospital - well, I'm due back in Exeter, sometime in January.... just for a pre-op thingy..... followed by surgery, if all goes to plan, in February. We were talking earlier - if you go back, to last May - this will be my 10th operation. Hopefully, just on a hunch - the surgeon might get it right - this time around !!
I am not looking forward to the whole deal.... but, it either gets fixed, or...... !! Life will go on - but !! I am getting really pissed off about the whole thing... 10 operations !! Come on guys - please get it right, this time !!
I had to call the hospital, to confirm I would "give the go ahead" - which I did this morning..... so, I guess I can't really back out now - without causing a bit of a headache, with the surgeon !! Nevermind - it will give me something to look forward to.... ho-hum !!
I've just called the Taunton hospital - to cancel a February appointment..... it's all fun & games !! I can't be in 2 places at once !!

As mentioned before - at some point - I had a DVD of Canned Heat's 1973 Montreux concert reach me, a few weeks back...... well, I've transferred it over to Cd & I'm playing that copy, really loudly, as I type. Maybe that's the reason why B has the kitchen door shut ?!

I was in Leeds, at around the same time that this concert was recorded..... and, at almost the same time, on the same day, that The Heat were doing this concert - I bought a copy of their 'New Age' album. Looking back at it, with all that was going on, in my life, at that time - it's weird how things fall into place. There is an official release, of this soundtrack - so I'll buy that soon...... always buy official stuff, if you can !!
'The New Age' album was - to me, a real let down, after the previous album 'Historical Figures & Ancient Heads' which I really did like.... probably one of my favourites, by the band.
The tracks are:
1) Sneakin' Around
2) Hills Stomp
3) Rockin' With The King
4) I Don't Care What You Tell Me
5) Long Way To LA
6) Cherokee Dance
7) That's Alright
8) Utah
That album, as far as I can remember, came out around 1971 - the one & only time I got to see the band, actually in concert !! It was at London' 'Royal Albert Hall' and it will always remain, in my little mind, as one of those great concerts !!
I was really fortunate - having gone 150 miles to see the concert - to have a seat, right beside the stage, almost in touching distance of Henry Vestine's amps !! Great place to be.....
I was also, very, very lucky - as the concert finished quite late - to get on a tube train, over to the station, in time to catch the last train "home" that night !! Ok - I then got stranded to Taunton.... but, it was worth it.... even getting stopped by the police !! After all - it was the middle of the night - sooooo, they wanted to know what I was doing, on my own, walking thru' the town, in the wee hours of the morning !!
The buggers didn't offer me a lift home tho'.... oh well !!
I've just changed the Cd over, to a bit of Jon Lord's "tribute" concert..... the Deep Purple section - 'When A Blind Man Cries'.... a great track & I always like a bit of the Purp's !! Oh well..
My plans for the rest of the day....
For once, I actually have some odd things to do...... especially & for a start, trying to tidy up my computer table !! I will have a count - but, there are probably 30+ Cd's to put away !! Nevermind.... life is good....

For once, I actually have some odd things to do...... especially & for a start, trying to tidy up my computer table !! I will have a count - but, there are probably 30+ Cd's to put away !! Nevermind.... life is good....

More Dream Theater & other stuff....
Greetings World's !!
It's another Friday, here in the wilds of England... it's quite cold outside !! B took me down to the local Dr's - oh, about an hour ago.... it was really chilly out there !! Nevermind... one of the better nurses did the dressings today..... sooooo, things went - sort of Ok.
B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is here about, some place.... last time I heard, she was dropping the guitar amp, onto the bedroom floor !! That's - kind of - my fault... I had left it, on J's bed & it was quite close to the edge..... so, I guess it fell off, from there !! I will give it a look over, at some point, to make sure it still works !!
It - from what I can see - that one of our tabby cats has taken up residence, on J's bed.... right where the Sun comes in & warms the thing up !! Somehow - with the cat being there.... B knocked the amp & speaker off the bed & onto the floor. No biggy.... cat & amp/speaker are doing well !!
The news, is on the TV - over to my left - and they're still talking about the death of Charlotte Bevan & her baby. I think everybody is treating it, as a sad suicide & - I suppose - murder...... if the baby was still alive, when the lady jumped over, into the gorge.
I know that place, the area, where it happened.... not too well, but enough to know how dangerous it is..... how fatal it can be. Know one person will really know the whole truth - but, it's all very sad.
Going back, to our family.....
ME came over, last night, for a couple of hours & we had a bit of fun...... she always brightens up our home, when she comes here !! Especially when chocolate biscuits are involved !!
We bought a tin of them, supposedly to eat, over the Christmas holidays...... once we opened the tin, the things were all but gone, inside an hour !! They were very nice tho' !! Now - of course - we will have to buy some more !! nevermind....
She is coming back, later this afternoon....
B is meeting her, at the DR's surgery....... sooooo - I hope I'll see my "little girl" afterwards !! We'll see if she has time..
So - apart from J - our Son... who is over in Wales, doing his Uni course..... that's our family. The music of the moment - well, I've been experimenting !! To explain.....
As, I think, I wrote about yesterday - I was thinking of putting the DVD soundtrack, of a Dream Theater concert, over to Cd.... well -that's the music of the moment !!
I was hurting pretty badly, in the night - no matter how many painkillers I took, I couldn't shift what was going on..... so, I came down stairs & spent a couple of hours, transferring the soundtrack, over to Cd.... for my own use, I must emphasize !! Please do not write & ask for copies !!
Anyways - I did that last night, using the new TEAC recorder....... which, altho' I'm not 100% happy with it, I am getting use to it's little quirks & charms !! It's nowhere as good, as my older Sony & Pioneer recorders...... but, it does every thing it says it'll do - sooooo, I shouldn't moan too much !! I just have to get used to it, that's all !!
All I've had to do, this morning, is re-record the thing (Cd) over to the Sony deck, to increase the volume of the whole recording. For some reason, I didn't have the record level up high enough, last night, so - by re-doing the whole thing, I was able to improve that.... it sounds really good !!
The next time, that I do anything like this - well.... it's all a bit of a leaning curve really. I must of wasted sooooo many CDR's over the years, until I got things to record, in the way I wanted !! Oh well.
The postman has just been - dropping off 2 more 'Giant Warplanes' to add to me ever growing collection !! There were 4 - that I really wanted.... they were the B 17 - B 29 - B 52 & B 36...... so far, I've got the first 3...... along with countless others !!
Today, a C-97 Stratofreighter' came..... not something I was really expecting, but - they will all go, into the loft - one day, somebody will enjoy them.... I hope !! If I ever have Grandchildren..... some day, maybe..... Ho-hum !!

Earlier - by accident.... honestly !! I broke a picture frame...... As the frame was no good, I went to see if another picture, that we have of the guys, was the right size, for the glass. The frame was broke, but the glass was Ok..... anyhoo - I took the second frame down & we found a second photo'.... behind the front one, that has been on display for years !!
It was taken when ME was - probably - at playgroup, or something.... it's really nice - to have found it & what it's actually about !! Brilliant..... a really surprising find.....
As mentioned, yesterday - the lovely lady brought me over some new sticks, for my use. They are basically a pair of crutches, something I've shied away from - especially when I came out of hospital, last year - but, as the time has gone on.... it's become obvious, that I need some extra help, when I'm walking around & about..... hence the new sticks !!
I should of used them, this morning, going down to the surgery - but, I wasn't brave enough !! They will get used, especially when I'm back in hospital, after Christmas...... it will all be fun & games then !! Ho-hum & other stuff.....
Right - my plans for today ? None at all... !! I will no doubt, listen to some more music & stuff like that... I must try & tidy up my computer table, as well......... things need to go back on the shelves & what have you !!

Dream Theater & some new sticks.. Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
It's another Thursday, here in England - I have no idea, just what day it is, with you, when you get to read my words. I know - if you're over in the East, you are many hours ahead of us... just like, if you're in America, you are - at least - 3 hours behind us. So - greetings to you all... no matter what day it is in your part of the Universe !!
Sticking with the whole "Universe" type of subject..... I was watching NASA's web cam - the one they have pointed at their latest rocket launch. Unfortunately, the launch has been called off, for today at least..... I was hoping to watch it "live" - but, nevermind !!
First off tho' - the family...
At this very moment, My Wife & Dearest Friend - B - is behind me, sorting out the massive grocery shop, that we did earlier...... all in all, it came to £179 !! Luckily - and thru' some careful budgeting - we had saved £180, thru' out the year - in order to get some Christmas goodies.....
Every time, that we went into the store, we would buy some saving stamps - that ways, we were able to go a little mad & buy lots of stuff, withe out hurting our wallets - too much !! We did want a few other things... but, that can wait, until next week - when we do a regular
shop !!
Anyhoo... That's B.....
Tonight - at some point - our Daughter....... ME.... is coming over, for a visit. I'm not 100% sure what time, but it is always great to have her & our Son here. Ok - I know J is not here & has no plans on coming back, for a while, at least.... but, it's great to have them all here !!
I think - tonight - M (the other half of the M & M's) ME's partner is having a mate go over to the house... sooooo, ME is coming here for a while. They are a fantastic couple..... we love them both + J of course, no matter what happens - he is still our Son - you can not change how you feel, about someone... especially when they are your offspring !! Oh well.... moving on..
...... well, not really !! It's more like going back, rather than moving on...... I know what I mean - even if I can't explain it very well !!
I'm going back, to yesterday. As you might have read, in a post, on Tuesday - I had to go back, to the hospital, in Exeter - a happy day was had by all !! No - I'm messing around....
As it was a nice, dry, day... and ME had a day off work - we asked if she wanted to come with us.... so, the 3, of us headed South & got to the hospital... oh, I don't know - maybe around 11am. I can't honestly remember the exact time... but, it gave us a chance to get a drink & a bun, in the hospital cafe place. From there, we went down to see the Consultant.
I am pleased to say, he was actually there !! You will have to read some older posts, to understand what I'm meaning.... but, he was really there, this time, bloody amazing !! But - his being there..... well, that was the best part of the visit...
The other side of the coin - the low bit, of the visit..... I've got to have another surgery !! Bummer !! It's not going to happen, until the new year, so - I'll be home for Christmas & New Year celebrations.... but, he has decided, that the hole in my back, even after 9 or 10 operations, is not going to close, on it's own - hence the need to go back in & go thru' it all again !! I repeat - bummer !!
So - as all of this started, around about this time of year, in 2012.... I am looking at the new year, with yet another stay in hospital - and some more pain & stuff, that goes along with it all.... Never mind - who knows, this might actually be the last surgery !! I won't hold my breath, not just yet.... I have been "here" before.... if you follow my meaning ?!
Anyhoo.... At some point, the Consultant's booking agent - his office lady - will give me a call & give me a date, to work to. Hopefully, it won't be too far, into the new year.... on the other hand - I don't want it too quickly either !! I will need time, to get stuff together & also, get my head around the fact, that once again, I'm having to thru' some more time away from home & stuff like that !! Hopefully, not too much.... time will tell !!
It was fun tho' - going around the shops, in Exeter, with the ladies of the family !! ME always makes me smile... the way she goes around, here, there & everywhere !! She seems to have sooooo much energy, I wonder where she gets it all from ?! It was great fun tho' - even with the news of going in for surgery !!
I spent some time, in HMV - while the ladies went around some other shops..... I actually found the 3 Cd live set, from Yes's '35th Anniversary Concert'.... tho' - as I'm hoping to buy the Allman's 2014 box set - I didn't buy it, I was very good & put it back on the shelf !!
It's the first time, that I've actually seen it anywhere !! It looks good - and B did say I could buy it - but, I wanted to save the cash, for the Allman's box set..... There was also the little fact, after B said I could buy it - I couldn't find it, on the shelves anywhere !! Either I put it back, in the wrong place- or, as soon as I put it back, someone came along & picked it up !! Never mind.... as it turned out, I can buy it thru' the internet & save myself a few pounds in the process !! But - I really want to save my pennies......

Three bits of sad news today...
The great & often forgotten about keyboard player, with the Small Faces & The Faces... Ian McLagan has died. I think he was 69 - he was really good.... and very underrated !! Check out some of his work... well good !!
I've learnt, in the last hour or so, that the ex-MP... Jeremy Thorpe has past away, at the age of 85. He was one of those MP's - who thru' no real fault of his own, was dragged thru' the mud, thanks to the tabloid press & some jerk, who wanted to make a name for himself !!
Lastly - It's been announced, that the bodies of Charlotte Bevan & her baby, of only a few days of age, have been found, in the Avon Gorge, near to Bristol. That has to be one of the saddest stories, really, of the last year...... our prayers go out, to all of the families.
Ok - I best be on my ways.... a lady, who came to see me, last week, is coming back, with some new walking aids for me !! Those will really help me - especially as I'm going to need extra help, after the next surgery !! The timing is all but perfect - I will have a chance to get used to them, before actually going back into hospital !! Great stuff !!
Oh - I forgot.... in the post, today, I had a Z gauge model of 'The Flying Scotsman' - which, if you live anywhere near the United Kingdom, you might know as being one of our more famous steam locomotives. I've never had any train, in Z gauge - it's really small... even compared to my N gauge collection, let alone the OO gauge loco's I've been collecting over the years !! I'm really pleased with it... I'm not sure if I will continue to collect anymore of the collection, that is on offer...... as always, time will tell !!

'Images & Words'
Greetings World's !!
How is your bit of the Universe treating this fine, cold day ? It's a bit breezy, here in our part of England... tho' - having said that - I've not been out of the house, so far today !! It's really toasty, here in the homestead.... sooooo, I'm staying where the warmth is !!
Anyways - I'm home alone, at the moment.... B has just left, to do a bit of shopping + go to a meeting. I think her plan, from what I can remember, was to do the shopping first, then on to the meeting. That means she can come straight home, afterwards.... makes sense really - tho' I'm not really sure what time she will be back, nevermind....
As for the rest of the family - (as both of our "kids" have left home) - our family of 4 cats... well - the last I saw of them, they were all happily asleep, on various bits of furniture, around & about the place !! I can't blame them really... why go out in the cold, when there is a nice warm house to stay in ?! Oh well..
I've had a quiet day...
I was due to go to a meeting, at 12.30 - but, I've had a nasty bit of a night, sleeping, waking, sleeping... you get the picture ? Anyhoo - after all of that, I decided to call off the meeting.... there was no point in going, especially feeling like crap !!
The lady, that I was going to see, was really nice about it... knowing a bit of my medical history help, I guess !! I try & go to all of the meetings, if I can, but, sometimes things don't work out the way I want them to !! As it is - I will see her on Friday week... December 10th... where is the month going ?! I'm already making plans for next week & it's only Tuesday, this week !! Hopefully, I will feel a little better, for that "get together" !!
I was quite happy, earlier, in bed - trying to catch up on some sleep... but, the 'phone rang a few times, sooooo - I thought I best get my butt, out of bed & down to answer the bloody thing. But - you all know how it goes - you run, to catch the call, before it rings off - only to miss the call, by a matter of seconds !!
I did the dial back - and it was the lady, from this morning, trying to get hold of me..... so, I'm glad I made the effort & got out of bed - tho'... it was kind of nice, just catching up on my sleep !! Maybe next time - I'll remember to take the 'phone upstairs with me !!
As for the music of the moment - I'm listening to a bit of Dream Theater.... one of about 70 tracks, that I put on my last "mix" Cd's. If you have no clue, what I'm writing about - read yesterdays post !!
It's all a bit weird really.... I'm listening to one track, on my iPod thingy... and, on the TV, over to my left, there is a Dream Theater DVD concert playing. It's kind of weird, mainly as what I'm watching, doesn't match with what I'm listening to !! All very strange...
The DVD tracks are:

7) Take The Time

The DVD is called 'Images & Words - Live In Tokyo'... or something like that !! I'm not really sure that I've ever played it before !! I don't really remember !! Oh well... I'll give it a listen, at some point.... maybe put the soundtrack, onto a Cd... not today tho'... things to do & stuff !!
"Things to do" ? Well - not really... I just have to get myself together, ready for my visit to the hospital, in Exeter, tomorrow.. I've not got that much to sort out - I just don't want to leave it all until tomorrow. As it is - we'll be leaving home early enough - with out having to do this, that & the other, before we go !!

How is your bit of the Universe treating this fine, cold day ? It's a bit breezy, here in our part of England... tho' - having said that - I've not been out of the house, so far today !! It's really toasty, here in the homestead.... sooooo, I'm staying where the warmth is !!
Anyways - I'm home alone, at the moment.... B has just left, to do a bit of shopping + go to a meeting. I think her plan, from what I can remember, was to do the shopping first, then on to the meeting. That means she can come straight home, afterwards.... makes sense really - tho' I'm not really sure what time she will be back, nevermind....
As for the rest of the family - (as both of our "kids" have left home) - our family of 4 cats... well - the last I saw of them, they were all happily asleep, on various bits of furniture, around & about the place !! I can't blame them really... why go out in the cold, when there is a nice warm house to stay in ?! Oh well..

'When Dream & Day Unite' Ho-hum...
Greetings !!
It's a very overcast & cold Monday - here in England's South-West corner.... not very nice at all !! Nevermind.... I'm here, in a warm house - I've cheated & put the heating on, several hours ago... ho-hum !!
As I type - My Wife & Dearest Friend - B is sat over to my left.... knitting some gloves. It seems to be. a kind of Winter "ritual" - as far as B & knitting goes.... Each year, she will sit & knit a couple pairs of gloves.... and, by the following Winter, those have gone to better homes. Or - as more often happens - lost, someplace here in our little homestaed !! Never the less - B is doing another pair.....
As mentioned, last Friday, B went up to her Dad's place.... not only to visit the old guy - but, to go over to her Mum's grave. It's now been 9 years, since her Mum past away.... I gave a short talk, at the funeral - it had to be the one of the worst days of my life.
I'm used to talking in front of people - I gave a talk, at a get lunch, that the CEO of the company put together. That was hard - it had to be funny & to the point.... I worked for that company, well - for nearly all of my working life..... sooooo - to give a talk - it was pretty hard !!
I gave a talk, in front of about 600 people - at the college.... that was easy, compared to standing, in front of Mum's coffin, to a full Church of people !! Certainly one of the hardest few minutes in my life. I didn't realise, that it had been 9 years.... it's gone by, I won't say quickly... but.... !! Oh well..
It's a Monday.... and, since Friday, B has been the proud owner of her Dad's rocking chair !! She is sat in it, as I type.... rocking back & forward, as she knits !!
As long time readers may know - B has always hoped that her Dad would leave it to her, when he eventually passes away. Unfortunately, Dad decided he was going to sell it !! So - as soon as I found out out, I 'phoned her Dad & told him, that I wanted to buy it !! As it turned out, he actually gave B the chair, for free - which I thought was really good !!
Yesterday - Sunday - our daughter, ME, came over & - as I predicted to B....... she fell in love with it, as soon as her butt hit the cushions !! So, I'm guessing of course - as I expect to be long dead, before it happens - ME will hope that the chair will pass down to her... !! As long as B's got it - well, I'm happy - I didn't want Dad to sell it & have B lose it !! Oh well - we now have to move the various other chairs around, in order to make room...... life is good !!
Staying with family...... I've had an e-mail, from our Son, J... and he isn't going to come home for Christmas. It's up to him - but, he will always have a home here, should he decide to come back this way, sometime in the future.
It's going to a very quiet Christmas.... just B & I, here in the morning.... I think the M & M's are coming over, in the afternoon.... so, that's going to be good. Maybe J will change his mind.... it's all up to them. My family have flown the nest - so, B & I have to make do with what we have....... oh well !!
I was going to say, this morning, I had another dressings change...... that hurt !! The nurse who did it - well, she is not one of my favourites !! Even tho' I told her, it still hurt like mad - she just went on, sticking this, that & the other onto me...... not really taking any notice, about how much it was hurting !! I hope it will be a long time, before she does it again...... !!
On Wednesday - I have to return to the hospital, in Exeter. I hope, this time, that the Consultant will actually show up !! The last time, we had a 'phone call - while we waiting, in the hospital - telling us the appointment was cancelled, because the Consultant wasn't there !!
After a 50 mile car trip - we're told not to show up !! A bit bloody late, after making the journey, all the ways down there !! I'll see how things go... it's going to be interesting & that's for sure !! Time will tell, I guess.....
As for the music of the moment... well, I've not got anything playing -. we're actually watching the 3rd season of 'Game Of Thrones'.... the idea being, to watch all of the seasons, by the time the 4th season comes out. I thought it was due out, now sometime, in December. However - I've found out, that it's not due out, until next year sometime !! I'm kind of pissed about that... I was looking forward to seeing the new DVD's !! Hopefully, it will be out soon - I'm looking forward to watching it !!
A little earlier, I was listening to some Dream Theater albums.... mainly 'When Dream & Day Unite'... a really good album. The tracks are:
1) A Fortune In Lies
2) Status Seeker
3) The YTSE Jam
4) The Killing Hand
5) Light Fuse & Get Away
6) Afterlife
7) The Ones Who Help To Set The Sun
8) Only A Matter Of Time
I think the album came out in 1989 - not too sure about that !! Why I dug out - well.... I've been trying together a few "mix" Cd's.... using various group & albums, which I've enjoyed playing over the last few years.
I'm not sure, just how long - how many Cd's it's going to take, but it will be fun !! The last lot, that I did - well, that took 18 Cd's...... I'm guessing this new collection will probably be as long !! Nevermind - I'll have fun messing around & putting this, that & the other together. I will no doubt let you all know, just how long it turns out..... anything over 20 Cd's will be a bit of fun, if nothing else !!
Ok - my plans for today..... well, it's pushing towards 6pm - so, I will watch a bit more TV & then head towards bed. As always - I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words.... until next time...
