"It doesn't have any jambags".... Ho-hum !!

Hi again World's !!

How is your bit of the Universe treating you this fine day ?! It's a Thursday, here in England & I'm home alone - for a few hours at least. B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has gone for a drive...

Tomorrow marks the 10th anniversary of her Mum's death & B has gone to the Churchyard, to lay some flowers on the grave & to visit her Aunt & Dad (I guess)..... she should be home in a few hours - I'm not sure just how many, but when she gets here, that's when I'll see her again !!

I would of tried to have gone for the ride.... but, we both agreed, a journey in the car, over such a distance, well - it probably wouldn't of been too much. I'm still putting up with various pains, in my back....... where the wound is still healing, from my most recent surgery & I think sitting in the car wouldn't of been too good an idea !!

Plus - for some reason, I'm struggling with my various pills & potions this morning.... having played "The Game of Thrones" this morning !! Oh well - I'll take my lunchtime pills, in a couple of hours & try to keep them down.... time will tell on that subject !!

Sooooo - B is out.... as for the rest of the family........ I think ME is coming over, tomorrow - as M is going out for most of the day - so I'll see her then. I'm not privy to our Son's doings, so I can't tell you anything about him. Just assume he still hates my guts & I'll leave it at that !!

As soon as my back heals a bit more - I'll get into the spare room & throw' more of his old stuff away. I really want to get on with that little job - at the moment, things are in a state of limbo up there & I need to crack on with it !! Oh well.....

I'll need to get some more boxes, at some point..... it's amazing how many we've used so far - with the stuff in the loft & all the other junk, that I've put up there !! This week, alone, I've had 5 more models arrive...... all of which need to be boxed & put away !! The loft has never been so tidy !! Ho-hum....

While I'm typing these words, I watching/listening to the extended version of 'The Battle Of The Five Armies' on Blue-ray......... it's well good !! In time, I will transfer it over to Cd - to go along with 'The Lord Of The Rings' Cd's that I did some years ago.

While I was in hospital - I listened to, not only the Cd's of the 'LOTR's' movies - but also the complete BBC version of the same story. There are obviously some major differences in the 2, but, I spent a bit of time, just laying on the bed & chilling out..... great stuff !!

One thing, that I did find funny.... I also listened to the BBC version, of 'The Hobbit' - and on that, or in that (?) the people of Lake Town spoke with Welsh accents, just like Bard in the movie version of the book !! That was a good bit - did Peter Jackson get that off the BBC ?! I wonder....

Of course - not everything that happened in the last 4 weeks was funny. There were the horrible events that happened in Paris & Mali...... if anyone involved, is reading my words, well.... you are in my thoughts.

I did think that the Mother of Ibrahim Abdeslam - one of the suicide bombers - was being really naive, when she said "Ibrahim did not mean to kill anyone" and that he had probably "blown himself up, because of stress or because his suicide jacket went off by accident".

How fu++king stupid is that !! You don't put a bomb around your body, if you don't intend on using it.... dumb bitch !! That's going to get me some hate mail & that's for sure !! Never mind..... 130 or so people died in Paris.... isis (small letters) are a bunch of bastards & need to be sorted out - one way or another.

I was really pleased that Mohammed Emwazi was killed.... to quote a man on TV.... he was "vaporized" in a drone attack !! "Jihadi John" is no more..... thank the heavens above - he will not kill anyone else !!

I was also in hospital, when the news of Jonah Lomu came thru' - I hope I've spelt his name right - and his death on November 18th. He was 40 years old & one of the true giants in rugby !! Bless him... he was also a Latter Day Saint !!

...... Talking of "giants".....

One night, a guy came into the hospital and he was really big..... !! He was 6' 8" tall & built like a brick out house, to go with it !! A really nice guy, a "gentle giant" if there ever was one... we helped him out a bit.....

He was over here, from America & couldn't contact his American girlfriend. Sooooo - to help him, B 'phoned the ladies office, in New York (from home) and left a message for her, so that she could call her boyfriend in the hospital.

It all worked out really well.... once she got the message, she was on the 'phone right away !! Never let it be said, that a Latter-Day Saint family will not help those he need it !! I was really glad to help out..... he needed it !!

Lots of other things happened, over the last month..... but, those are for another day...... I'll go on about those another time, probably !! As for the music of the moment....

Well, I'm still watching 'The Battle etc etc' on the TV..... but, after it, I want to play 'Live At The Fillmore East - December 1969' by The Nice. I've played it, on the Mini Egg, while I was in hospital, but I want to give it a good listen, thru' the Bose..... the tracks are:

CD 1

1) Rondo
2) Ars Longa Vita Brevis
3) Little Arabella
4) She Belongs To Me

CD 2

1) Country Pie
2) Five Bridges Suite
3) Hang On To A Dream
4) Intermezzo: Karelia Suite
5) America
6) War & Peace

I'm not sure about all of the spellings - but, I think I've got it all right. It's a really good album, especially the version of 'America'.... well good !!

Right, my plans for the rest of the day.... I have a couple, none to special tho'. I want to tidy my computer table & put away some of my junk, that has built up over the last few months. Even tho' some of it has been put here, over the few weeks I was away..... I just have to go thru' it all !!

Sooooo - for now, I will be on my ways & get started on my little clear up !! I thank you all for logging in & reading my words - as always, it's good to know you're "out there" !! Try & watch 'The Battle Of The Five Armies' it's worth it, just to hear the "jambags" line - well, I think so at least...... until next time...

Bye Bye

Happy Thanksgiving !!

Hi again World's !!

I hope your bit of the Universe is treating you well.... not too bright or dull, not to harsh or lame ?! As long as you're all doing "Ok" in whatever bit of this glass bead we surround ourselves in !!

It's another Thursday & it's a little after 2pm, here in England's South-West corner..... so far, it's been a busy kind of day !! To explain...

Yesterday, I had my dressings changed... and that should of lasted until tomorrow. Unfortunately, things went a bit weird late yesterday afternoon & B had to take me down to the surgery, to get it looked at again. I won't bore you with too many details, but... it all got a little messy !!

The nurse wasn't there - but the Dr was "in the house" and he let B get on & do a re-dress & everything turned out Ok. But - because of the mess - I had to go back again today & have it dressed again. Bit of a bummer really.....

Not to worry - the job is done now, until tomorrow...... when, hopefully, things will get back to normal. Time will tell, I guess. If nothing else, I'll get to see one of my favourite nurses, sooooo - that won't be too bad.

Talking of B...

My Wife & Dearest Friend is upstairs, doing a bag thingy, for her Cousin. She wanted one made for her friend & B got a bit of custom out of it all. As long as she gets paid for it & is not expected to make it for free !!

Going back to this morning.... B bought me a copy of 'The Battle Of The 5 Armies' on Blue-ray... it's the extended version & completes 'The Hobbit' trilogy. As yet, I've not played it - I'll save that for later on. As it is, I'm working my ways thru' the complete 'Farscape' collection.

When I was in hospital - I decided to (when I got home) to watch all 40+ DVD's and now I've been home a couple of days, I've made a start !! So far, I'm onto disc 3.... it's good to watch them again, lots of fun !!

It's great to be home.... I'm still getting used to being here & away from the hospital "routine" (for want of a better word).... getting used to doing things in my own time. Being stuck in the place, for several weeks - well, it's just a bit of institutionalization !! That's a big word.... but, it's the only way I can describe how things go !! Oh well....

As for the music of the moment.....I was playing the latest Def Leppard album..... the M & M's bought it for me and I think it's only the 2nd album I have by them - so, thank you guys !! It's better than I expected.... the tracks are:

  1) Let's Go
  2) Dangerous
  3) Man Enough
  4) We Belong
  5) Invincible
  6) Sea Of Love
  7) Energized
  8) All Time High
  9) Battle Of My Own
10) Broke 'n' Brokenhearted
11) Forever Young
12) Last dance
13) Wings Of An Angel
14) Blind Faith
15) We Belong (American vocal version)
16) Let's Go (UK radio edit)

I saw the band once... they were really bad !! The Cd is good tho' - go & check it out sometime....

Right, my plans for today... well, none at all really !! I want to sit back & chill a bit more... until I can build up a bit more strength, but hopefully, in a few days I will be fitting fit !! For now tho' - I must be on my ways.

I thank you for logging in & reading my words.... well, the few I've written - not the ones I'm thinking - those will wait until I know how to put them into "print" - or whatever writing my blog & publishing my words can be called. Anyhoo.... it's all one thing or another.... until next time...

Bye Bye

Swallow The Sun & great to be home !!

Greetings again Worlds !!

It's been just shy of 4 weeks, since I last put finger to keyboard..... where does the time go, when you're having fun ?! If I'm right - it was 4 weeks ago, tomorrow, when I last signed off...... sorry about that !!

First tho'... the family.

As I type, B... My Wife & Dearest Friend... is sat over to my left. We picked up next weeks TV guide, this morning & she is looking thru' that.. Most times, she buys it on a Tuesday - along with a bar of my favourite chocolate, in order to keep me grounded, on what day of the week it is. It really does help !!

As for the rest of the Clan... well, ME is coming over a bit later. B is going to make something for the M & M's house & she is coming to lend support !! I've not seen M for a few weeks now..... but, we'll catch up at some point, I'm sure.

I would tell you about our Son - J - but, I've not seen him in a couple of years & - as he still seems to hate my guts - I doubt if that's a situation that is going to change, anytime in the near (or distant) future !! Oh well.....

As Marlon Brando said in 'Apocalypse Now'....... "I know my Son will not understand what I have tried to achieve" ...... well, each to their own I guess !!

Right.....

So - where have I been, over these past weeks..... Well, in a nut shell - stuck in the hospital again !! As I wrote, all of those days ago..... I went in on Wednesday 28th October and that's where I've been ever since !!

My health had steadily gone down hill & when my infection levels went over the 200 mark, so I called the Consultant up & basically said "Help" !! I went into the hospital & then had surgery number 11 on the following Wednesday....... November 3rd.

In a way, it worked out really well.... I was due to have the same surgery, today....... sooooo, I actually had it all done, 3 weeks early !! Had I gone in - today - and had it all done.... well, I would of been stuck in the hospital, in the weeks leading up to Christmas & I would not of been too happy with that !! It wasn't a great load of fun, as it was, being stuck in the place, for nearly 4 weeks..... with-out all of the build up to Christmas !!

Anyhoo - it's all done & dusted now..... the metal work is out of my body & all being well, most of the infections, linked with it, are behind me !!

I actually have all of the metal work here & I can now see, just how weird & wonderful it all is !! It might sound dumb - but, to have the stuff, in front of me, it represents a form of "closure". I - we - have gone thru' a shit load of stuff, over the last 30 months.... sooooo, to have all of the stuff removed & to be able to see, what was causing the problem.... well, it's over now & I'm already feeling a lot, lot better !!

I will no doubt go on about the hospital stay - in the coming days & weeks..... sooooo, be prepared to have lots of stories, especially about some of the characters I came across, during their stays !!

As for the music of the moment...

Well, I've only picked up 2 Cd's.... during my enforced stay, away from home. Those were....... another version of Nightwish's 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' album. Ok - I already have the original Cd release..... with the instrumental versions Cd, but this one has a very good DVD along with it !! It's really good - tho' so far, I've only played a small section of it......

The other Cd... well, that was a punt in the dark......

I've bought a 3 Cd studio album by a band called Swallow The sun & the album is called 'Songs From The North - I, II & III'. It's really strange, but it's kind of heavier than I usually buy - but, it's worth having in the collection !!

The tracks are:

CD I

1) With You Came All Of The World's Tears
2) 10 Silver Bullets
3) Rooms & Shadows
4) Heartstrings Shattering
5) Silhouettes
6) The Memory Of Light
7) Lost & Catatonic
8) From Happiness To Dust

CD II

1) The Womb Of Winter
2) The Heart Of A Cold White Winter
3) Away
4) Pray For The Winds To Come
5) Songs From The North
6) 60 Degrees 50' N. 28 Degrees 40' E.
7) Autumn Fire
8) Before The Summer Dies

CD III

1) Gathering Of Black Moths
2) 7 Hours Late
3) Empires Of Loneliness
4) Abandoned By The Light
5) The Clouds Prepare For Battle

Ok - I know it's heavy & the names don't do much for the tracks - but, considering I've never heard of the band - let alone heard anything by them, it was worth buying !! Check them out & go for it !!

Right, I may as well shut off for now.... my back is killing me - mainly as I've spent most of the last 4 weeks on a bed !! To be honest - the quicker I get some strength back, the better..... that won't be for a few days/weeks tho'. I need to let the wound heal, before I do too much !! Oh well......

Thank's for logging in & reading my words.... it's great to be home & writing again !! I will return in a day or two - probably tomorrow..... until then...

Bye Bye
