The Who.. 'Monterey Pop Festival 1967'

Hi again World's !!

I've only just realised, that I've not written anything since Monday !! It's time to take me out-back & give me a good whacking.... well, maybe not !!

Sooooo - it's another Friday & I've just come back, from having the last of this weeks torture sessions.... better known as a dressings change !! I suppose, if I was really sad enough, I could work out exactly how many times, I've had the bloody (literally) things changed !! I mean - it's been a n average of 3 times a week - for the last 2 years..... go figure, there is a number in there some place !!

Nevermind....

As I type, My Wife & Dearest Friend, B is behind me, in the kitchen, doing some dishes. In a while, she is going to start baking again - sooooo, she is starting with a clean slate & getting everything put away, ready for the new dishes, when the baking has been done.

I think there are going to be some small fruit cakes, followed by some cookies, of some description. The last ones - well, they were really good... so, hopefully, this new batch will come up, to the same high standard !! B's baking is always great..... I have to admit !!

Oh - talking about cooking...

In the week, we decided to have some sausages.... a new brand, to us at least. They were really awful - we couldn't eat them, they were that bad !! I said to B - we should send off a complaint... but, there is very little to gain, from doing all of that. We will know, next time, to buy something we know about !!

Going back, to the family..

In a while, our Daughter ME is coming over, for a while..... she has a day off, today & has decided to come & see us !! She came over on Tuesday, but it's always great to see her !! My little ray of Sunlight !!

As for the music of the moment - I'm playing Cd 3 of the Monterey Pop 1967 box set. It's meant to be a complete set - by the various groups - but, I don't think all of the Jefferson Airplane tracks are on the thing.

I can only work, from the old film - which I've not watched, in far too many Moons.... but, I think there is at least one track absent, nevermind. The tracks, by JA, are:

5) She Has Funny Cars

Towards the end of the Cd - there are a few tracks, from The Who's set... those are:

2) Summertime Blues

5) Happy Jack
6) My Generation

Eric Burdon, does the intro - which is kind of weird. I mean, The Who were a far bigger band, as far as this country was concerned.... yet, in America, Mr Burdon was the better known act !! Oh well..... times have moved on & that's for sure !!

Right, my plans, for today.....

Well, I'm still working my ways, thru' all of the Cd's..... I've done a shed load of them, already... but, there are still several 100's still to do !! It's all good - they will get looked at, in one way or another, over the coming weeks !!

For now tho' - as it feels like my back is going to break open & cause all kinds of problems, I will go up & lay on the bed, for a while. If nothing else - just laying, flat out - it helps to ease the pain, as I say, for a while at least !!

Plus - the morphine, that I've just taken, will help !! At life grand.... oh, that reminds me !!

On Tuesday, I went & saw my Dr. - as the back was hurting sooooo much.... well, more than normal. On Wednesday, I had a blood test done, to check my infection levels. They should be down, to below 20.... but - and this is the kicker - even tho' I've been on anti bio-tics, over the last few weeks, the levels have gone up, to over 100 again !! Great stuff !!

It's Ok - as B says... just because it's gone up, it doesn't have to mean, that my back wound has got worse. It could well be something else - I'm not sure what, but.... !! Time will tell, I guess !!

I must go.... 'Happy Jack' is playing.... how The Who went from playing overblown "pop" tunes, like this, to filling out stadiums, in the 1970's - well.... it's beyond me !! I must go....
