Darwen, Lancashire... 1976. Ho-hum !!

Hi again World's !!

I've taken a couple of days off... for some reason, I never got around to posting anything, over the last couple of days. Sorry about that !!

Anyways - it's a very bright Monday "Bank Holiday" here in England. There is not a lot of blue sky, out thru' the windows, but... it's really a warm day. B & I went into town, just a short trip... and it was really great, to drive along, with the windows down & an old Dio concert, blasting out thru' the speakers !!

As for now - B has gone upstairs, to attack a bit of housework. I've tried to get her, to give up on it, for today.... but, no - she wants to get it done, sooooo....

To be honest - I didn't really wake up, until Noon !! I'm still finding, that my morning pills & potions, are knocking me sideways. It's been that way, for a long time now, which is not too good.

It's Ok - if I wake up, in the wee hours & take them then - but, if I land up, taking them too late, I'm right back to sleep !! Bit of a bummer
really !!

B said that I took a sleeping tablet, at 1am.... but, I've checked the box & it doesn't look like I took anything extra. I might be wrong, but... there are 6 missing & that works out right. I'm probably wrong - but, I don't remember taking anything in the night !! Oh well... moving on !!

Last night, we sat down & watched the first of the 'Die Hard' films.... It's been a while, since we had seen any of them, infact - according to the box, the film came out in 1988 !! I didn't realise, just how old it was !!

B bought me a box set of Blue-ray editions of the 5 movies.... sooooo - we're going to have plenty to watch, over the coming nights !! I know, that I've seen the 1st two & probably the 3rd one, as well... I can't really remember !! It makes no difference, we will sit & watch them all.... it's was a lovely gift !!

This coming week - if all goes well - I'm treating myself to a double, picture disc Lp set Of the last Nightwish album !! I saw it on the same web site, that I bought the 10 inch coloured vinyl singles, sooooo - I'm going to treat myself to the album !!

Ok - I have the album, 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' already, on Cd.... but, I can't pretend, that the picture discs haven't put a hook in me !! I'll see how things go, later in the week..... time will tell, as I often write !!

At the moment, I'm playing the 1974 'Live' album, by Barclay James Harvest. I bought it, some time back, at our local 2nd hand record shop. I've not been in there, for a while.... so, maybe the guy who owns it, might have some "new" stock in, by now.

I don't like going in, too often, because it's not always the case, there is anything "new" to buy. I sometimes come home, with a few gems... but, not always. I'll see how I feel, later in the week & I'll, maybe, pay him a visit.

I think, the first time, that I actually heard this album, was on a portable cassette player in 1976. I was climbing the hills, in Lancashire, towards the folly, that over looks Darwen. It was a very bright & warm August day.... and, considering, just how many times, I've been back to Darwen - it's the only time, that I've made the climb !!

Oh well.... if you're in that area & - for some reason - you're reading my words... give the folly a wave,  I doubt if I'll ever visit again, so say "Hi" for me !!

Right - I must go.... I've very little to do, but.... I need to crack on with it !! To my immediate left, I have 4 heaps of Cd's. My plan today, was to sort thru' them & put them back on the shelves... it might happen, but.. it's unlikely !!

Our prayers are with the people, in America, suffering from the floods...
