I was getting pretty down in the dumps !! As I've written before, I was expecting 2 operations & had heard nothing to say when...... that was until yesterday. In the post was a letter from the hospital, asking me to go in next Wednesday for a pre-op appointment. The problem is, it (the letter) didn't say for which surgery the
pre-op is for !! At least now I've heard something - even if it's only half of the news I've been waiting for..... be careful what you wish for, it might come back & bite your butt !!
Anyways, that's next week. Today is another sunny, blue sky type of day - very cold, but dry & bright.... I don't like it cold & wet. Maybe I'm getting old, but the wet weather really gets to the bones in this old carcass of mine !! Never mind, life goes on.....
Today I'm here alone again. B has gone into town for a haircut, J has gone with her - something to do with his work - & ME is out at her Uni placement, which means I'm here with the old tapes, typing these words. I could of gone out with B, but I'm not up to it today...... when I finish this, I'm off to bed for a while. I feel a little 'drained' - it would be great to have a full nights sleep, just one in while !! Oh well......
The music of the moment is an old Deep Purple tape of their 'Machine Head' album. I could - or should - play the cd, it's here someplace, but I'm working thru' these old tapes & this is the next one on the list !! Up to 'D' now - only a 100 or so to go & I'll be on 'Z' !!
I did have a little treat a day or two back....... I had regretted getting rid of my old single collection for a while. But one of the tapes had all my old Canned Heat singles on it !! I thought they had gone for good, so it was great to find them again...... even if most of them are on cds here in front of me !
I just remembered something a friend said, about the time I bought the 'Machine Head' album - I'm guessing around 1972. I was walking home to my folks house & met him on the ways. He had a 'poke' at me for buying the album & that the group wouldn't be around very long & how bad they were... well, my old friend, I'm still listening to the album & as far as I know the group are still playing together !! Like me, they are getting old...... but !!
Oh well - I'm off to bed.........
