Wet Paint & 'Black Moon'.. Ho-hum

Greetings Home World !!

How has your day gone so far...... it's exactly 11.11am here in England - so, for some of you, the day is just starting & for my friends over in the East, your day is just winding down, I guess !!

Me - well.... I've been a up for an hour and a bit...... mainly as I want to try to give the kitchen it's last coat of paint. I'm just taking a quick break, as the stuff I've put on is drying & - to be honest - after doing this, for the last few days, my body is definitely giving up on me !!

Having just said that - I was just called in, to ME's room.... I am chief spider hunter & killer of the household, so my powers were needed !! Unfortunately - instead of calling me, as soon as she saw the spider - J & her went gonzoid & scared the thing into hiding. I can't see it - so, now... my lovely Daughter is emptying a tin of bug spray, into her room, in the hopes of killing it !!

Add this, to the tin of body deodorant, she has already let go, in the vague hope - I guess - the spider needs to cover up his under arm pits - well, lets just say her room, kind of, stinks at the moment !! Oh well - maybe the spider will die - or better still, come out, waving a white flag.... that would do !!

Just staying with my darling - spider hating Daughter - she went down to the Dr's last evening, as mentioned in yesterday's post.... and, it turns out she has another chest infection. The racing heart condition, which sent her into the hospital, on Thursday night, was just a side effect..... or something like that !! So - all is well, as far as that goes.... I'm glad to say !!

As for the rest of the family.... J is also here about, someplace...... and B, My Wife & Dearest Friend, has gone into town, to do a bit of shopping. I did consider going with her, but - well, once I got going on the painting, I decided to stay at home. Town's are nasty places - so, I'm fine, here in the country !!

Ok - not all towns are nasty places.... I just find it hard, going into the blooming things - too many people !!

Hopefully, there won't be too many people, in Exeter, next Saturday...... I really want to go down to the record fair.... I am completely out of cases now - so, it's kind of a "must do" thing !! I'll give Roy a ring on Thursday or Friday & make sure he's going to be there......... failing that, he can mail the things to me. Tho' he usually sticks another £6-£10 on top - to cover postage !! Bummer !!

I've just checked the paint.... it's been about 30 minutes & parts of it are drying really well !! I'll leave it a bit longer tho' - just to make sure !!

Just had a thought.... I'm glad ME is going out, to her boyfriend's tonight...... she wouldn't be too happy, sleeping in her room, knowing there might be a spider, someplace, living "wild"..... !! That would not be good - infact, I best forget all about it - other wise, the next time she is home, she'll be panicking about it, all over again !!

The music of the moment... well, it's the Mini Egg (again) and at the moment, it's playing 'Eva' by Nightwish... a lovely little song...... well, I think so !! The Egg must be playing a Nightwish album.... 'Meadows Of Heaven' has just come on...... so......

Right, my plans for the rest of the day.... well, the painting has to be finished - and then, well.... I'm not sure what I'm going to do really. Probably kick back & have a bit of a rest. As mentioned - my body feels like it's giving up on me, at the moment, so... it needs it's rest !!

I really hope we'll head towards Church, tomorrow..... it would be nice, to get there, at least once or twice, before going into the hospital, again !! Which - as I'm still counting down the days - will 30 days, from today !! Now... time really is moving on !! Monday will mark the 4 weeks & counting mark..... so, hopefully in about 5-6 weeks, I will be home again & getting used to all the "new stuff" the guys are going to do to me, this time around !!

We're still (obviously) taking things into account.... that if things go wrong, I will be in hospital longer... or, worse case scenario, I won't be coming home at all !! But - that's not going to happen.... I will be home... and that's a fact !!

Ok - I better get back to the painting....... what isn't dry by now, well..... it's like my style of driving (when I used to drive) "what is behind me, doesn't matter" !! It's going to be the same, with the wet paint - what isn't dry.... what the heck, it's going to need another coat anyhoo.... !!

Greetings Worlds...... another Tuesday !!

Greetings Worlds - How have you been spinning today ?!

Well, here I am once more..... sat here on my own, the music turned down to deafening & the TV on mute in the corner - there was a cat here just now, but I think it's gone upstairs to bed !!  Ho-hum.......

It's another Tuesday night here in England & it's blooming cold outside !!  They forecast for it to remain cold over the next few days... so with a bit of luck, it will stay dry & bright - I don't go much on it being cold & wet !!  We'll see what happens I guess......

I've been here all day today.... B did go into town earlier, but only to the gym, sooooo I stayed here in the warm.  She has gone out to weight watchers tonight, so all being well, she will be home in an hour or two.  J & ME are upstairs as I type......... they were here with me, but after their favourite TV show (of the moment)

'Pointless' finished, I put the music on & they went up to their rooms.  J is no doubt on his computer & ME is either watching TV or doing some Uni course work.  It's kind of hard for her to concentrate with my music blasting out !!

The music of the moment is Emerson, Lake & Palmer's 'Royal Albert Hall' show from 1992.......  I recorded it from the radio broadcast, at the time & transferred it to Cd a year or two back.  I also have the official release here abouts someplace...... not really sure where tho' !!

For most of the day, I was recording some more of our friends Lp's over to Cd, for them.  It's been a bit hard work really !!  the Lp's I'm doing are from a 1960 box set & are really in a bad condition !!  I've had to clean them up & listen to all the crackles that go with a 50 year old recording !!  I've enjoyed the music tho' - a great deal of it is - well, "popular classics" would be the right name for it..... lots of stuff by different people & orchestras, all a bit of fun, tho'....... as I say, kind of hard work - especially on the ears !!  I know Cd's can be scratched, but I don't miss the clicks & pops of old vinyl !!

As it's been cold, I'll probably stay in the house (again) tomorrow...... I'm not sure if we need anything in town - but, I need to avoid getting a chill at the moment !!  I'm still not 100%, so I want to avoid adding to the problems !!  I have to go in on Friday - to see a Consultant - so, if I need anything, I can sort it out then !!

I had a phone call, today, from my friend in Bristol.  He just phoned to have a little chat & ask how things were going.  That's a true friend - one who calls, just to see how you are !!  It was great of him to call & lifted my spirits up no end !!

He did wonder how we kept going - with my health getting worse - and he was well happy that we're supported by the Church & our faith in The Lord.... he didn't take us for being Mormons - as I've said before, we're not your everyday Latter-Day Saints.  We are what we are & that's a fact...... nothing will change that !!

Just back onto music - I had a look for some Led Zeppelin, from January 31st & found concerts from 1969 & 1975.  As the '75 show is one of my favourites, I've settled for that one - so, on this day in 1975, the band were in Detroit:

I really like this show - tho' I think I've got the tracks mixed up a bit !!  With-out playing the Cd's, I'm not going to be able to check - but, never mind !!  It's a good show tho'...... The 1969 concert is on one Cd - also as part of a two Cd set.... but, I settled for this show !!

I've had this Cd (set) for a goodly number of years now - I got it way back when !!  In the days when their were still Led Zeppelin concerts to collect !!  As my friend in Bristol said today - everything is just being re-packaged & produced !!  There are only sooooo many show out there & - sometimes - something 'new' comes to the front - but, not very often !!  As always - don't buy bootlegs !!

I hope soon to have the Allman Brothers Cd's from 'Hittin' The Note'.... I had a lovely e-mail from Lady V & I know I've not been forgotten..... just waiting on stock at the moment !!  I'll just have to work my way thru' the Beacon box set again !!  B will not be pleased !!

ME did give me a great set of 'Sennheiser' headphones for Christmas & I ought to use them a bit more.... but, I enjoy listening to stuff thru' the speakers..... so...... !!  I guess I could lose myself in the 'phones, but.. !!

I just had a nice surprise..... I went upstairs, to speak to ME & found both of them in J's room together.  He is helping her with some pictures that she can't get off a disc or something.....  it's great to know that they don't kill each other every night !!

I only went up to tell her the protesters have been moved from College Green in Bristol, where she goes to Uni..... they have been there 3 months & the council moved in this morning to clear them out - well, the few tents & stuff that was there.  Everybody should have the right to protest - but..... they have left a heck of a mess there !!  I'm not against the protesters - I'm not for them either.... I'm just a person in the middle.  each to their own !!

Right, that's about it for tonight - I think !!  I could go on & on about how good this ELP concert (the one I'm listening to) is...... but...... So for now I will away - I've no plans for tomorrow - just to stay in the warm, so I might be back 24 hours from now... give or take a minute or two !!  Until next time.....

The Allman Brothers Band.... again & again !!

Hi everybody.... may your World be as good to you as you are to it !!

Well.... here I am, just lit the fire to warm the place up - it was really cold over night - and once AGAIN, I'm listening to the Allman Brothers.  This time it's one of the 'new' concert recordings that came earlier in the week - I've been trying to listen to them, but today looks about right to give them a good going thru'.

B has gone out to a carers meeting, ME is at Uni placement & J is at work.... which leaves me here alone, playing music & typing these words - life IS good this morning !!  Better than yesterday at least............

I had to go into hospital for a pre-op & - once again - they're not sure if I'm well enough to have the surgery I'm booked in for !!  How can I be too sick to have an operation which, hopefully, will make me feel a bit better ????

OK, I know officially I've lost just shy of 23 pounds since November & that I'm not feeling too brilliant, but come on !!  I'm not going to worry about it - I'll keep flapping these old arms of mine - we'll just have to wait & see how I am on the day of the surgery.  Hopefully it'll go ahead, but time will tell !!

I spent a lot of last night wondering about it all & I've sort of came to the conclusion that it's out of my hands.  I'll have to see what the doctors say....... as it is, the little so & so's are keeping me in for a week after the surgery, so that's a bummer !! 

I was kind of 'upset' that they couldn't do the surgery under a local anaesthetic, that I had to be knocked out - now they tell me I'll be stuck there for up to a week afterwards..... what is wrong with letting me go home the same day ?!  Oh well - I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, I just don't feel too happy about being away from home - maybe you can understand that ?

Onto other things..... Yesterday evening I was going thru' some old tapes & I found a copy of 'Pictures At An Exhibition' by Emerson, Lake & Palmer - one that seems to be different to the official release.  So I

e-mailed a friend & used his knowledge of the band to try & tie down where it came from.  It is a bit of a strange one, as it's really well recorded - but, where it came from I have no idea !!  I love finding old tapes & this one is a good one..... now if I can find out more about it, I will be happy - happier !!
