Richie Havens RIP

Hi everybody !!

I hope you are all doing well ?! It's a really bright & breezy day, here in England....... there are too many clouds to look out, as far as the beach - but, from my brief experience, of the outside World, today.... it's not too bad !!

It's my Independence Day !! It really is - April 23rd not only marks St. Georges Day..... but, it's also the day when I..... well, I was going to say "celebrate" my Independence Day .... but, that's the wrong
word !! Never mind.... I might explain later - I'll see how I feel....

Right - as I type... it's boys home alone day, again !! B has gone out to a gym class & to pick up my chocolate & paper..... a little custom we have, to help me get a grip on the week & ME is working today. She will be home about 9pm - give or take..... so, I might be in bed, before then !!

J is here, about.... helping me, as & when I need it.... which is quite possibly going to be quite a few times, today.... mainly as I'm being a stupid bugger & trying to paint the kitchen !!

To explain.... I - a year or 2 back - decided I was going to paint a few parts of the house. Long term readers might remember all of this, but.... I will continue.

So, picture the scene.... I struggle to walk (hence I use my wheelchair to get about)... I have lost most of the sight in my right eye (tho' - that doesn't bother me too much) and, all in all.... I'm kind of mad - no, really I am !! So...

.... I started with the main hall & landing....... the funkiest part of that was having a ladder stuck across the stairs, to the highest landing wall..... and trying not to fall off !! ME was almost crapping herself - but, I managed it.

From there - I went and painted J's room.... and then, ME decided she would like her room done !! If you surf back thru' my posts - you will find the day, when holding a tin of pale pink paint, I fell off of ME's bed, onto the floor - and in the process - getting completely covered in the stuff !! It was not a pretty sight - me, covered in pink paint..... and unable to do anything, as I was dripping the blooming stuff everywhere !!

All of the above... well, it took quite a few weeks or so........ I couldn't do it very quickly, so - I did as much as I could, when I could !! But, that was my last go, at painting anything...... until now, as I paint the kitchen !!

At some point, in the past - I told B, I would do the kitchen, before I went in for the surgery..... well, today - I've made a bit of a start !! Yep - I am crazy - but, with B out, I can raid the pill & potion supplies  when I want.... so, as I get more & more stoned, the painting seems to get easier & easier.....!!

Great stuff........ and it beats thinking about what day it is & trying to kill myself !! No - I'm only joking....I really am. What would be the point of killing myself today, when the Consultants might do that for me, in 34 days or so !!

No - I really am joking, don't call the men in white coats, just yet !!

I had a letter, from the clinic... which basically said, to go & see my Dr, if I'm getting low....Well - at the time, I thought "No way !!" - but, when I saw the guy, last Friday... I did bring it (the letter) up & he urged me to go & see him, at any time I needed..... so, that wasn't so bad !!

Ok - the music of the moment... well, that's kind of hard, as I have the Mini Egg on shuffle & blasting away, in the kitchen !! At this very moment, it's Rush's 'Limelight' - but, a few seconds ago, it was something by Kate Bush.... so, it's really going thru' the changes !!

I was sad to read this morning, that Richie Havens has died, of a suspected heart attack. He was 72 (I believe) and has always been a a part of my musical journey, since I first heard him, on the 'Woodstock' 3 Lp set, back in 1971. His filmed performance was/is brilliant....... RIP old friend !!

That's 2 members of the 'Woodstock' film crew, to have dies this year - that I know of.... heck, we're all getting old !!

I just checked the kitchen... the paint is not drying too well - so, I will have to wait another hour or so, to do a final coat on the walls. That's a bit of a bummer - as I really want to get - the bit I'm doing - finished, so B can move some of the stuff back into place !! Nevermind.... if it takes a few more hours, so be it !!

Anyhoo - I better think about moving on... I'll give the News a watch, on TV, for a while...... see who has killed who today !! It's a mad World.... but, I thank you all for logging in..... until next time..
