A trip to town & other stuff.....

Well "Hello" Again Worlds !!

It's Thursday, here in old England.... it's been a bright sort of day...... I even went out, into town !!  "Wow" !!

As I type - J is behind me, washing up the supper dishes.... we tend to eat early here, so I'm not sure if it counts as 'supper' - more like a late 'tea' !! Oh well.... with J here, ME is out at work & B has just gone into town.  It's her trip to see her hairdresser........ which is kind of good.  I don't mean that in any nasty kind of way !!  There was a time B wouldn't get her hair cut, until she really had to (like me)... now, she goes in regular.  enough of all of this.... she will be home in about 2 hours I guess, not really sure !!

The music of the moment is some of a Jimi Hendrix 4 Cd box set. B picked it up for me, today & so far, Cd one is pretty good !!  I have to be in the right  mood, to listen to Mr Jimi.... shame he died sooooo young !!  In a week or two, it will be the anniversary of Janis Joplin's death as well !!  Two great people, musically speaking, dying so young & so close together.

As mentioned - I went into town today....... a visit to the guy, who I started seeing last Thursday (I think it was Thursday) - anyhoo, today's visit went pretty well, or at least I thought it did !!  I've felt pretty poorly for most of the last week, so I wasn't sure how today was going to go, but..... As I said, to the guy, if my appointment had been 2 days ago, I probably wouldn't of made it !!

Never mind - I went, we met & if all goes well, I'll see him again next week.... onwards !!

As mentioned before - I've been taking old videos & putting them onto DVD.  well, apart from playing the Hendrix Cd, I've been watching 'Eddie & The Cruisers' !!  It's a great little film !!

I first heard about it, when I went to our friend's wedding.  It was in Rhode Island & a girl, who was there, had the Lp soundtrack & kindly gave me a copy of it..... when the film came on TV, here in England, I couldn't resist taping it !!

Anyways - I've been making a DVD of it.... then, I found it pretty cheap on Play.com - so, I'll more than likely buy a copy at some point & throw my DVD copy away !!  I didn't expect to find it anywhere's.... so, now that I have - why not get a copy !!

I'll check out if they have the soundtrack.... I would love to get a Cd of that !!  Not yet tho' - got to pay some bills & the money tree isn't that fruitful at the moment !!

Right what else is happening ?

Well, I found out today, that a lady I'm in contact with (in America) is a big Dr Who fan...... and there was I thinking I was the only one !!  It seems like the American TV station, where she lives, has just started showing it again..... great stuff - I'm glad I'm not the only idiot who watches the show !!

B says she is not a fan - but, she'll still sit & watch it with J & I !!  Bless her.... each to their own, but Dr Who has been a part of my life, ever since it first started, many (too) many years ago !! it still beats the heck out a lot of other TV Sci-fi !!  Well good.......

Oh yes.... I mentioned my friend was over here, from South America. Anyhoo - he was coming over, yesterday morning & I had to cancel, because I wasn't feeling too good.  As the day went on, I felt better, so I did his Zeppelin Lp, over to Cd for him.... then, last night, he came over for a short visit & collected the thing.

I was totally blown away, by the quality of the Lp !!  I just thought it was going to be a waste of time, putting it onto a Cd, but.... it came out brilliantly !!  So - if you get the chance to pick up any of the 200gm Lp's that have been released, go for it !!  The sound on them is fantastic..... I don't think my friend expected it to sound as good as it did !!

Mind you - a £400 deck, thru' a £600 amp & then onto £800 Bose speakers... well, it better have sounded good !!  I would of wanted to know why otherwise !! Oh well... he's gone up to London now, but he'll be coming around again, next week - then we'll see if he wants anything else transferred over !!

I guess the prices of my stuff doesn't really count - as I haven't bought anything new (except a stylus) for the system in several years.... but, hopefully you get my meaning !!

Right - my plans for tonight.... none at all really... just a quiet one, playing music & watching TV.

If all goes well, tomorrow - we're going to try & sort out the 'new' TV.  It's going to go up, into our room.  To do all of that, I have to run a wire from the aerial, down thru' the loft, into the room..... no problem !!  If I fall thru', it'll make it easier to thread the cable !!  Only joking - J said he would do it - but, even as I am - I still trust myself to it, better than J !! I'm sure there would be any trouble, with J - but, I would rather do it myself !!

So - that's tonight & tomorrow's plans...... sounds good to me, so I will be on my ways. Thank you for reading.... until next time....
