'JCS' and other old stuff....

How are you all getting along - this very wet & horrid Tuesday !! Here in England's South-West corner, it's really nasty outside !!

Unfortunately - I have to go out, to the local Dr's surgery, this afternoon - in itself, not something I'm looking forward to.... but, in the rain as well !! Not so good !!

Anyhoo - that's later....

As I type - I'm coming to the end of the Allman Brothers 2014 box set. It's taken a few days - to play them all, all the ways thru'.... but, I've enjoyed it. To me - some of my least favourite of the band's "studio" tracks, have taken on a brand new appreciation - listening to them live !! More of that later....

As I type - B is sat to my left, watching a "crafting" programme, on TV. It's not something she usually enjoys - but, for once, I've got her to sit down & just enjoy the show, for what it is !! I think, we both agree - the stuff they try & sell, is very expensive.... but !!

I'm not sure how long she will put up with it - she finds the presenters, a bit of a joke..... mostly interested in selling their goods, rather than just showing things, how to do things, just for the sake of it. Oh well - nevermind.... life goes on !!

Actually - staying with the above - the programme has been on for less than 15 minutes & already, they've plugged to death, at least, 5 different products !! As I say - lets sell the stuff & bugger the rest of the show.....

As for buying stuff & going back to last night.....

B & I decided we would go to a different supermarket, to pick up a few things.... big mistake !! We came out, after picking up what we wanted & it came to £48 !! That's probably the reason we don't go there very often - way too expensive !!

I know, where we normally go, is not the best in the World - but, at least it's not that bad, cost wise.... too expensive & that's a fact !!

That was last night.... this morning, the postman has been & gone.... nothing for us today !! I had hoped to get a couple of Cd's.... but, nevermind - maybe tomorrow. I've a couple of Allman Brothers DVD's in the pipeline + a couple of Cd's.....

.. one of which, is the soundtrack to 'Game Of Thrones - Season 5' !! I'm really hoping that will be worthwhile.... the first 4 seasons, were really good - music wise, sooooo here's hoping for the latest Cd !! If nothing else, it'll be worth having in the collection....

I didn't get around to posting yesterday..... and staying with the whole "soundtrack" theme. In the post yesterday, I - at last - managed to get a copy of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' !!

Ok - I already have 3 copies - but, the one that came yesterday, is the original version !! I bought it, many, many years ago.... mainly as it has Ian Gillan on vocals, in the part of Jesus !!

Since selling most of the Lp collection - as you may already know, if you've read my words before - I've gradually picked up, lots of, the albums on Cd..... so, this is another one !! I know, I will never replace all of the Lp's actually onto Cd, but, it's fun finding the various things.

Of course - B is not completely understanding, when it comes to some of the replacements. I don't mean, she minds what I buy - but, she can't understand quite why I want the "deluxe" versions of various Cd's !! As I say - she has never stopped me buying anything..... well, once she did...... but, it's understanding exactly "why" I want certain Cd's !!

She did stop me getting a Page & Plant bootleg once..... but, it was £450 !! I didn't really want the thing (honestly).... but, her face, when I said how much it was !! There was a very firm "No" !!

That's life !! I think the most expensive album, that I bought, was £250 - that was about enough...... for me, as well as My Wife & Dearest Friend !!

Staying with yesterday....

I had a 'Battle Of Waterloo' medal reach me !! Ok - it's not for everybody.... but, it's all part of the collection, for my relations, down the years, whoever they might be !!

It's made of bronze, weighs an ounce & is numbered, as part of a limited edition. I know - there are 37,500 in the collection - but this one is numbered at around the 11,000 mark. I'm not too worried about that - it's just a nice thing, to hand down to someone.

Having been raised, in the shadow of Wellington Monument, here in the South-West of England..... and it's 200 years, since the battle, it was nice to get one of the medals !! Oh well..... !!

Staying with "older" things.....

Yesterday, I went thru' my older posts...... that was kind of weird, especially seeing how my writing style has changed, over the last 5 years !! From just saying what i was listening to & what the family were doing - all thru' the emotions, that I've felt, going thru' the various surgeries !! As I say - it was very weird !!

Right I must go - I have a few hings I want to do, before heading down to the Dr's...... nothing too brilliant, but !! Sooooo - as always, I thank you for taking the time, to log in & read my words.... as I've said, many times, over the last 5+ years... it's good to know you are "out there" . Must go.... until next time...
