Well Greetings Worlds !!
Our thoughts & prayers go to all of you, in America & other countries, who are suffering from the effects of the storms. From what we've seen on TV, it's all pretty bad - so.......
Ok - it's a cold & dry Tuesday, here in England...... I've just waved B off, from the front door & it's not very warm out there, at all !! But, as is my want - I'm staying in the house tonight.... and as close to the heating as I can !! The bug - or whatever it is - is still with me.... so, there is no way I'm going outside tonight !!
B was going out, to the gym, this morning.... but, as I had another c**p night, she changed her plans & stayed home to look after me !! Bless her !! I actually spent most of the afternoon asleep - so, there wasn't much she could do..... but, it was good to know she was here for me !!
Tonight is her weight-watchers class thingy.... where she helps out, so..... she has gone to that.
Which just leaves J here to keep an eye on me... as I type, he is in the kitchen washing his supper dishes. There wasn't much to do tonight - ME is at work & as B & I didn't eat... well, he only had his stuff to put away !!
The music of the moment is the WASP 2 Cd live set... which I think I wrote about yesterday. It's called 'Double Live Assassins' & is good enough to blow the cobwebs out of my brain, so, I'm not
complaining !! Well, I should really.... the Cd sticks at one point, but that's no big deal....... I can't be fussed to mail it back !! It would cost more in postage than it cost... so, there is no real point !!
I think the only other Cd I've got by WASP is 'The Crimson Idol' and I've not played that in a long time... I'm not 100% sure where it is, to be honest..... probably buried on one of the shelves !! Never mind.....
Tomorrow, I have another visit to the clinic & my third visit to see the 'new' lady. So far it's been interesting - tho' I can't say I've enjoyed it too much..... I'll see how tomorrow goes - I don't mind really.... it's good & has to be helping, health-wise !! B says she has seen a change, in me... so.... if that's a good thing... well, I don't know - time will tell !!
Just back to music.... I tried - unsuccessfully - to move some of the tapes around today... to try & make space for some more Cd's...... in the process of doing that, I found a couple of old Zeppelin tapes I had been looking for !! Both were recorded in 1977, at one of the LA shows & I wanted to check them out - to see if they were different to the Cd's I have of the concert. As it turns out - they'r not... just the same tapes, re-hashed to make more money for the bootleggers !!
But - I did find the Zeppelin Cd, that I wanted to mention..... so, from October 30th 1969 & a concert recorded in Boston.. the tracks are:
1) Communication Breakdown
2) I Can't Quit You
3) Heartbreaker
4) Dazed & Confused
5) White Summer
6) How Many More Times
It's not a complete recording, with at least 2 tracks - 'What Is & What Should Never Be' & 'Moby Dick' - missing... but, it's still a good "record" of the group on the '69 American Winter tour...... As always - don't buy bootlegs....just the official stuff... more another time !!
For some reason, the TV stations tonight, are showing 2 Christmas films ?! Ok, I know it's nearly November... but, come on guys - Christmas films in October - please tell me this isn't going to carry on for the next 2 months ?! I know it's "the season to be jolly".... but not yet, surely !!
Right... my plans for tonight..... it's going to be an early one !! I want to make sure I'm up bright & early tomorrow - well, maybe not too early - to go to the clinic.... so, I don't want to be up too late this evening !!

Goodbye to our friend & a weekend in bed !!
Greetings Worlds !!
As some of you will have no doubt noticed - I haven't been posting for a couple of days.... to explain.
On Saturday morning, we took J into town to catch a train.... that was quite early, about 9 ish, I think. Anyways - we dropped him off & did a small bit of shopping.... then back home. We didn't have a massive amount to do, and - to be honest - I wasn't feeling 100%... so, it was going to be a quiet day.
It was certainly that - as the day went on, I became sicker & sicker - and - after a short visit by the Elder Missionaries, i headed to bed....... and I eventually got up late on Sunday afternoon !! Believe me - it wasn't thru' choice !! I don't remember too much about it.... just the odd bits, tho'... I do remember feeling like total c**p !!
Anyhoo - that was the weekend.... and, following a very horrid night, I decided to get up relatively early this morning & sit here - watching a recording of yesterdays "moto" events & staying in the warm !! Now, that's a plan & I'm sticking to it.....
So - I'm sorry I've not posted for a couple of days..... but, I'm back now, so......
As mentioned before - we had a 'phone call from the Elders, in which they told us about the possibility of them having scabies !! On Saturday, they came around - to explain what had actually happened....
It seems that, being very helpful kind of guys, they volunteered to help a family move house...... we think we know the people who they helped.... but, anyways. It seems, from what we're told... that as they moved the furniture, they got completely covered in fleas !! I kid you not.... they were not covered in scabies type bites & wounds - they were being bitten by fleas !! How bad is that ? It's really disgusting, in this day & age, that a house is so infested !!
It was only confirmed as fleas, when they both took showers (after that 'phoned) and the shower pan was covered in dead buggers !! Honestly - it really is bad..... how can someone let their house get that bad ?! It doesn't cost the Earth, if you think you have some kind of infestation, to buy a bug spray & try & kill them !!
Anyways... that's why the Elders called off their Thursday night visit.... &, to be honest, I'm glad they did !! In the end, they completely steamed their apartment & washed all of their clothes.... which, I'm guessing, took them most of Friday !!
Help a neighbour break.......
Hi again... I've just taken an hour out, as our neighbour needed some help. To explain....
It seems that a week or 2 back, there was an old photo of a local football team in the local newspaper & she wanted to know if we had a copy. Well, as it turned out - we don't actually have the paper - but, with J's help... we were able to find a copy of the picture, via Google & we printed that out for her !! She went away... sooooo happy, it was unreal - it's good to help some one at least once a
day !!
Bless her !! Why can't all our neighbours be as nice ?! Luckily, it's school holiday time, this week - so, the NFH has gone away with her brat of a daughter. Honestly - I shouldn't be so mean.... but, our little close is sooooo much quieter, when she is away !!
Onwards.... I mentioned J - who has now gone back to his Hobbit Hole, following his bit of help....... so, with ME at work - that just leaves B, who as I type, is at a meeting in the village. As I've said before - she is on a little panel, to do with the Dr's & patient thingy, here in the village. Well, about 2 hours ago, she went to the meeting & hopefully, she will be back soon...... I'm not sure exactly when !!
So - with everybody "out of the way" (I don't mean that in a nasty way) I'm playing a bit of Joe Bonamassa !! I've no clue where it's from.... as the guy who gave it to me didn't know !! But - it's a 2 Cd concert & well good..... I'm guessing it's from an older show.... mainly as I've had it here, in the collection, for a few years now !! It's pretty good tho'....... nice & loud !!
Tomorrow, I have a 1969 Zeppelin concert, from Boston... so, I will list that as I go along !! More tomorrow on that !!
If all goes well, I will have a live 2 Cd concert, from the American band W.A.S.P..... I asked for it a while ago, and as far as I know, it's been in the post, over the weekend, so I hope it might get here
today !! That would be good - something different to listen to !! It's always good to get more Cd's in the post !!
I forgot to mention... well, sort of mention.... As I said, the Elders came over on Saturday. Well, as we didn't get to Church yesterday, they came over to see us, again, last night. Not only did they give us the Sacrament, they brought us some very sad news.....
The Elder from Spain is leaving us, today, to move to another area !! That is kind of "gut wrenching" for us - we've got to know him so well, over the 12 weeks he has been here & we will really miss him !!
However - if all goes well & we are allowed to go to Temple, he has agreed to meet us there & come in with us...
As I keep saying, I'm not certain we will actually be allowed to go to The Temple... but, if we are - he has agreed to come along with the 2 of us & (if you like) "be there" for us..... that would be cool - he really is a nice lad !! We will miss him sooooo much !!
Anyhoo - the new Elder will be here - in our area - today & we have arranged to feed all 4 of the Missionaries on Saturday evening. The sisters are coming as well - so, if all goes well, we will have a great night with them all.......
We've grown so close to the 4 of them.... we will miss all of them, when it's their turn to move on !! Just like we've missed all of them, over the years..... but, hopefully, one of the best Sisters in the World, will be here in a week or 2..... and we get to meet R, her husband & tell him all the "gory details" of how we were brainwashed into The Church !! Ho-hum.... only joking guys !!
I've just been to the front door - to let 2 of our cats in...... the sea, in the distance, is really looking blue & calm today !! Better than the East coast of America, I guess !! Which is a big shame for all involved - especially our friends, who have gone to New York, this week, to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary !! It's one they are going to remember & that's a fact.... should of checked the weather forecast guys !! But - I hope they are having fun...... !!
Ok - my plans for today...... I have to kick back & rest - I want to clear my woes out of the way, rather than be poorly for the rest of the week !! It's not been a fun weekend - so, the quicker it settles down, the better !! So - with Joe B blasting away, in the background - I thank you all for logging in & taking the time to read my words.... until next time...

Rain & Loud Music - Breakfast of Champions !!
Greetings Worlds !!
How are you all doing this very, very wet morning ?! I think it's been raining all thru' the night - judging by how wet our oldest cat was, this morning... well, shall I just say - he was dripping all over the floor !! I think he's sooooo old now, he's forgotten how to stay under cover, especially in weather like this !!
The 2 young ones... well, they spent most of the night in the house, asleep on our bed !! I let them out in the wee hours - tho', when they saw the rain..... shall I say, their call of nature overpowered the rain that was falling !!
Staying with the moggies .... we found out why our bed was so popular yesterday. When I got up, I forgot to turn the electric blanket off !! So, the cats just stayed on the bed, soaking up the warm !! Who says animals are dumb !! Oh well...... onwards !!
The family..... B has gone out with a lady from Church - doing some home teaching visits. She should be home about lunch time, I think. The lady she has gone with, well - she doesn't drive, so B is the means to an end.
Plus - the lady likes going with B, mainly as her previous companion.... well, she would spend more time shopping, than she would teaching !! That used to p**s her off a bit - waiting around the shops, while the other lady just kept looking at things !!
As for the rest of us...... J is here, looking after me & ME is working..... her last day of 3 - which means, she has the weekend off. I think she is spending the night at M's & will be home tomorrow.
Talking of which... there is a record fair in Exeter, but I don't think we'll be going. I've been too washed out this passed few days..... I'll see what I'm like in the morning. We're taking J to the train station - so, maybe we'll go to Exeter from there.
J is going up to Bath... to see a girl he knows. She is here from Holland & tomorrow is the last time he'll get to see her, before she goes home. Onwards......
As for the music..... I'm still playing the 'Live Gothic' set, by Therion.... which reached me on Wednesday. As I din't know any of the tracks... I'm gradually getting my brain around it & really starting to enjoy what I'm hearing !! Even B is starting to rock along to it.... so, it must be Ok, if my Wife likes it !!
I found out that there is a 4 DVD + 2 Cd live set of theirs available... so, when cash permits, I'll order up a copy of that !! It's from various concerts, but it sounds good.... and besides, it's all music !!
Last night, we were meant to be having a visit from the Missionary Elders.... but, at the last minute, they phoned & cancelled. It seems that they have come into contact with somebody who has scabies !! How bad is that !! So - they have to get everything cleaned, before they can go on any other visits... incase they transfer it to anybody else !!
You got to feel sorry for them.... they are 2 of the cleanest living guys in the World & they might have scabies !! Bless them - I would like to know who gave it to them..... just so I can stay away from them !! I do not want anything like that in my life !! I hope they sort themselves out Ok...... !!
Right - my plans for today... none at all really. I'm certainly not going out in this weather !! So - it will be a quiet day, in the homestead, listing to music & watching TV - I guess. Live Gothic & Peter Gabriel
Greetings Worlds !!
How is your bit of the Internet Universe treating you today ?! I've only been out of bed, about an hour I guess - so, I'm just settling in..... the computer has warmed up, the music is turned down to deafening & all is good !!
I've not been outside, as yet, but it looks very misty out thru' the window..... B has gone into town, to her monthly carer's group meeting... as she left the close, she had to put her lights on - it was obviously too misty to drive with-out them today !!
Anyhoo.... as for the rest of the family. J is here looking after me & ME is at work again today. I sometimes get to say goodbye to her, in the mornings, as she leaves the house - but, i was too out of it today.... so, I'll see her later.
The reason, for the above, was simply down to having taken a pill, at about 4am this morning !! To explain....
I had to go to the clinic, yesterday... and all went quite well. the 'new' lady I'm seeing is really good - great infact.... but, at about 3 this morning, I woke up - thinking about the meeting - and I couldn't get back to sleep.... so, as I say, about 4-ish, I came down the stairs & took another pill.... that knocked me right out !!
As it was - I woke up about 7.30 & thought ME had overslept.... I was wrong, she was at work & it was me who had missed the "wake up" alarm at 6am !! Never mind......
I was tired out tho'..... not just the clinic yesterday, but from a visit from our friends from the Church, who came over last night. They were here until after 9pm & I was really washed out, by the time they left !!
Never mind - it was a great visit & we were told even more about the chances of our going to Temple..... which I still don't think will happen !! Why ?... Well - I don't know really - I just don't think it's going to happen..... One thing I don't like, about this whole thing.... nobody seems to be taking into account what we feel, or want for that matter !!
We're being told what is expected of us - before we're allowed to go to Temple..... but, not one person has asked us what we expect from the Church, before we make, if we're allowed, to The Temple !! It all seems very "one sided" at the moment.... and, hence, I don't think it will happen !!
Time will tell.... but, even now, I'm not holding my breath !!
Today - or tonight, the Missionaries are visiting... so, that will be fun.... they really are great guys !! It will be sad to say goodbye to them, when it's their turn to leave our little area. I'm not sure what time they are coming over... hopefully, not too late !!
Ok... over to the music of the moment... which is really loud !!
As I type, I'm playing a 2 Cd live set called 'Live Gothic' by a group called Therion and apart from what I'm listening to, I know absolutely nothing about the band !! I saw a video of them, on the net & decided to pick up this live set by them..... so far,,,, well - it's a bit different to what I usually play - but, being a fan of Nightwish & Within Temptation... it's not too far "off the wall" as far as my likes go !!
I need to give it more time, to get used to what I'm hearing... but, so far, I'm more than happy with it.... especially as it came with a DVD of the concert... so, I can watch it, as well as listen to the Cd's !! At some point, I'll try & find some of their studio recordings.... but, not for a day or two !!
The above came yesterday... along with the 25th anniversary 3 Cd set of Peter Gabriel's 'So' album... which I've been waiting quite a while for. Not only does it have the re-mastered version of the studio album, but... as I've written before.... a 2 Cd live set, recorded in Athens, in 1987. I've not played all of it, as yet, but it's pretty good..... and it replaces the old 'POV' video, so that's a bonus !!
Also, yesterday... I picked up another David Bowie Cd... this time it was his 'Heroes' album.... so, that's another tape replaced !! When I will get around to listening to all of this music, well.... one day, I guess !!
Right, my plans for today... none at all !!
B is going to meet up with a friend, after lunch... so, I'll more or less have the house to myself all of the afternoon... so, I'm guessing the music will be blasting for a few more hours !! I really need to put a few things into some kind of order... I seem to have Cd's all over the place again... not sooooo good really - especially as, at some point I'll wonder where everything is hiding !!
So - I guess, that's a kind of plan.... whatever I decide to do... I will away, for now at least... until next time..

I had to go to the clinic, yesterday... and all went quite well. the 'new' lady I'm seeing is really good - great infact.... but, at about 3 this morning, I woke up - thinking about the meeting - and I couldn't get back to sleep.... so, as I say, about 4-ish, I came down the stairs & took another pill.... that knocked me right out !!
As it was - I woke up about 7.30 & thought ME had overslept.... I was wrong, she was at work & it was me who had missed the "wake up" alarm at 6am !! Never mind......
I was tired out tho'..... not just the clinic yesterday, but from a visit from our friends from the Church, who came over last night. They were here until after 9pm & I was really washed out, by the time they left !!
Never mind - it was a great visit & we were told even more about the chances of our going to Temple..... which I still don't think will happen !! Why ?... Well - I don't know really - I just don't think it's going to happen..... One thing I don't like, about this whole thing.... nobody seems to be taking into account what we feel, or want for that matter !!
We're being told what is expected of us - before we're allowed to go to Temple..... but, not one person has asked us what we expect from the Church, before we make, if we're allowed, to The Temple !! It all seems very "one sided" at the moment.... and, hence, I don't think it will happen !!
Time will tell.... but, even now, I'm not holding my breath !!
Today - or tonight, the Missionaries are visiting... so, that will be fun.... they really are great guys !! It will be sad to say goodbye to them, when it's their turn to leave our little area. I'm not sure what time they are coming over... hopefully, not too late !!
Ok... over to the music of the moment... which is really loud !!
As I type, I'm playing a 2 Cd live set called 'Live Gothic' by a group called Therion and apart from what I'm listening to, I know absolutely nothing about the band !! I saw a video of them, on the net & decided to pick up this live set by them..... so far,,,, well - it's a bit different to what I usually play - but, being a fan of Nightwish & Within Temptation... it's not too far "off the wall" as far as my likes go !!
I need to give it more time, to get used to what I'm hearing... but, so far, I'm more than happy with it.... especially as it came with a DVD of the concert... so, I can watch it, as well as listen to the Cd's !! At some point, I'll try & find some of their studio recordings.... but, not for a day or two !!
The above came yesterday... along with the 25th anniversary 3 Cd set of Peter Gabriel's 'So' album... which I've been waiting quite a while for. Not only does it have the re-mastered version of the studio album, but... as I've written before.... a 2 Cd live set, recorded in Athens, in 1987. I've not played all of it, as yet, but it's pretty good..... and it replaces the old 'POV' video, so that's a bonus !!
Also, yesterday... I picked up another David Bowie Cd... this time it was his 'Heroes' album.... so, that's another tape replaced !! When I will get around to listening to all of this music, well.... one day, I guess !!
Right, my plans for today... none at all !!
B is going to meet up with a friend, after lunch... so, I'll more or less have the house to myself all of the afternoon... so, I'm guessing the music will be blasting for a few more hours !! I really need to put a few things into some kind of order... I seem to have Cd's all over the place again... not sooooo good really - especially as, at some point I'll wonder where everything is hiding !!
So - I guess, that's a kind of plan.... whatever I decide to do... I will away, for now at least... until next time..

Manowar & an old poem !!
Well "Hello" again Worlds !!
I wasn't thinking about posting anything else today... after this morning... but, something came to mind & I decided to share... well, in a minute or 2....
As I type, B & ME have both gone out... leaving J & my good self "home alone" !! B has gone to her weight-watchers meeting & ME has gone out, to have a meal with M... her boyfriend. So - that's the family...
The music of the moment is Manowar's 'Hell On Stage.. Live' 2 Cd set.. which I found earlier. To explain...
When I started going thru' the old video tapes, I made a lot of room... mainly to space the Cd's out a little bit - trying to put them into some kind of order. Well, what I didn't count on... was just how many tapes I was going to thro' away..... and because of this, I had some Cd's on a shelf, which - in a nutshell - I couldn't get to, very easily.
So - this afternoon, I spent a bit of time re-arranging things & putting the Cd's in a better place. By doing that - I found this & other Manowar Cd's... & as I hadn't played them, for a month or 6... I thought I would give them a little play tonight !! Just loud enough to wake up the village.... well, as everybody is - almost - out, why not ?!
Why not indeed..... !!
Anyhoo - to the thing I was going to write about.....
About 41 years ago.... honestly... I went on stage, at the Glastonbury festival & read a poem.... which, at the time, I knew by heart. It wasn't too bad - there were a few thousand people there, but... I had the chance, so I took it.
When sorting out the Cd's earlier - I found the poem... on the back of one of The Monkees Cd's & I thought I would share it with you all, tonight... so, here goes !!
Blue is blue & must be that
but yellow is none the worst for it:
hearing only with ears
seeing only with eyes
feeling only with fingertips
& this & that creeps away
never having been known by men
to whom it would not of mattered anyway.
Stand easy children for God is good
& speaks softly to all men.
It's kind of a sad thing... but, I remember saying it, over the PA system, at the festival and getting a big round of applause for doing so. At the time, I guess I was nervous, tho' - looking back at my life now - I've done other things, in front of fewer people & felt worse !!
Under the poem, it says "love Carlile Wheeling" (I think)... so, if that's who wrote it in the first place, I don't know..... but, it was good, finding it again, this afternoon !! Onwards.....
Ok - I have to head for bed soon.... mainly as I have a busy day tomorrow... going to the clinic & stuff. So... I will away to my bed.... as I say - I wasn't going to write again today - so, this is really kind of short & sweet !!

More David Bowie & no Peter Gabriel !!
Greetings Worlds !!
It's another wet & horrid day, here in England !! Not that it's going to bother me too much - I'm staying well inside the 4 walls of the homestead today... there is no way I'm going any further than the front door step in this weather !!
B has gone into town... to do a little bit of shopping & take in her lunch time gym class... she'll be home in a few hours I guess. Which leaves me here, with ME & J to keep an eye on me. I'm not going to give them any problems today... I'm too tired out !! To explain.....
We had a great day, last Friday.... and things were looking good on Saturday - well, until Sunday morning at least. Things went to pot again & if I tell you I was still asleep until gone lunch time yesterday, Monday - well.... you can guess what type of day I was having - and why I didn't post anything new !!
Never mind - I'm back again now... maybe not up to 100%... but, still going strong, so if this is a little short, I apologise...... with being asleep, I haven't done too much. Having said all of that... I actually went into town, with B, early yesterday morning.....
I had to go down to the village, to get a hair cut & as B was going shopping, I made the trip with her.... then, I went back to bed !!
I forgot that little bit of information.... again, me & my lack of memory !!
Anyhoo.... moving on slowly, just so I don't forget anything else....
As I type, I'm playing another David Bowie Cd...... as you will know, I'm replacing my old tapes. So - today's Cd is 'Aladdin Sane'...... not one of my favourites, but still worth having !! If I'm lucky, the latest offering from Peter Gabriel will be here, in the post, today. It actually came out yesterday, but - so far - my copy has yet to reach me !!
Having just written that - the postman has been & hasn't brought me anything at all !! Bummer... I hope it gets here soon.... I'm really looking forward to listening to the live stuff, that's on it !! I had some of it before - on the 'POV' video... but, I'm looking forward to having it replaced !! For an explanation, read an earlier post....

Oh - I forgot to mention... the Missionary Sisters 'phone a little earlier. They're based in Taunton & wanted to know if B could go with them, on a visit.... which, unfortunately - as it was short notice - she wasn't able to !! I think she would of loved to have gone, but.... it would of meant letting other people down.. so, she couldn't do it today. I think she is going to do something with them on Friday.
We actually have a big week, for us, this week.....
We have visitors on Wednesday & Thursday... plus, I have another trip to the clinic booked for tomorrow lunch time. B is going out to meet a lady, from Church - not sure which day - and she has 2 ladies coming here, as well !! It might not sound too exciting - but, it is a crowded week for us !!
I'm kind of looking forward, to my clinic visit tomorrow. Last week's was a little strange, for me.... never having met the lady before, but - after a while - I settled in & I felt quite at ease, being there & everything !!
All being well, things will improve - as time goes along..... I will no doubt let you know how things go !!
As for my plans, for today.... well, I'm not really sure what I'm going to be doing. I had hoped the new stuff would get here today & my plans revolved around that !! Never mind - I'm sure I'll find something else to do - even if it means another trip back to bed & some more sleep !! Now that sounds like a plan to me... so, until next time...

A Bunch Of Cd's + DVD's & No Brain !!
Greetings Worlds...
How are you all doing this fine day ?! I see, even given the early (for me) hour, people have been logging in already this morning.... so, greetings to you all. From France, thru' Europe & over to Russia - hi everybody !!
It's only 11am here in England & B & I have been to town, down our shopping and picked up a new dryer !! It's madness !! But - to explain....
We have 2 dryer's.... both of which are on the frizz - so, after probably years of putting it off, we finally went out & bought a new one. The reason for this madness ? Well, as mentioned - the old ones were well past their prime...... one keeps tripping the electric, every time it gets switched on & the other - well, it's held together with cable ties & hope !! So - last night, there was an advert on TV... saying Comet had a big sale on, with dryer's down £50... so, we went this morning to get one of those !!
As we went into the store, there were 4 of the things stacked by the door... so, I said to the lady serving - "I want one of those please" & that seem to make her day.... after all, they had only been open a little while, so her commission took off straight away !! Great stuff.......
ME's boyfriend spent the night here... they're just leaving as I type... and M helped J bring it in from the car. So, that saved a bit of a struggle !! It's now waiting for the old machines to get thrown out of their "nests" & it will all be sorted !! A good start to the day....
As mentioned - ME & boyfriend, M, have just left.... she want's to pick up some shoes, to go with a dress she bought yesterday....more of that in a moment. That leaves J & B here with me..... trying to get the house sorted a bit. I don't think it's too bad - but, I'm just a man, what do I know !!
Back to yesterday...
We all went up to Bristol, to look into the 'big' shopping mall there. ME drove, mainly as she knew the way - well, better than us, at least - and her car is newer than our old banger !! The plan was, to go to a craft shop, that B likes........ then over to 'Burger King', followed by a look around the shops. It all went really, really well !!
Both the ladies of the house found dresses for ME's graduation (hence the need for shoes, on today's shopping outing) & J & I had a look around the music shop....... much to my disgust, there was only one... but, I spent over an hour going around it !!
I did come home with a few 'new' Cd's tho'... so - it was an hour well spent !! I picked up, believe this or not, the first 5 albums by The Monkees (yep !). 'The Kid's Are Alright' by the Who.... I've been playing a copy of their 'By Numbers' Cd to death this past few days.. so, I thought, "why not". The last thing I picked up, was the 'Live At Loreley' 2 Cd set, by Marillion. I've seen the old video of this show... so, as this Cd set has a few un-released tracks, it was a bit of a bargain !!
So - with the various David Bowie Cd's I've had this week... it's been a good one for music !!
As I don't have any Zeppelin shows, from this time of the year - at the moment - today's concert is by David Bowie & was recorded on October 20th 1972 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium & was a show from his first American tour... well, that's what the sleeve notes say anyhow !! The tracks are:

3) Ziggy Stardust
4) Changes
5) The Supermen
6) Life On Mars ?
7) Five Years
8) Space Oddity
9) Andy Warhol
10) My Death
11) The Width Of A Circle
12) Queen Bitch

Lou Reed's 'Waiting For The Man' is the stand out track, for me at least !! It's hard to believe, this concert - which I'm playing as I type, is 40 years old !! How mad is that.... it's out officially, so... no need to look for a bootleg of the show !! More another day !!
Right - going back to Thursday night - the 2 Elders came over to see us again & we talked about Temple. I think I'm right, saying that people seem to think it's their day - not just ours !! As I explained to them - if we go & I'm still not convinced we will be going... well, it's a day for B & I to enjoy - for me, at least, I want to to keep it simple !! The fewer people, the better.......

They were in my favourites & I must of put them there at some point - tho' I've no real idea when !! I tell - you - if I had a brain & a memory, I would be dangerous !! Oh well.....
Ok - mu plans for today.... well, there is some MotoGP qualifying on the BBC.. so, I'll check that out.... I've got to have my fix of motor sport at least once a week !! Plus - yesterday, I had a box of DVD's come in the post... this time, 'Star Trek Voyager' (Season 4)... so, that will give me something to watch later !!
Add to all of that, the various Cd's I've had this week.... well, I won't get thru' of them today & that's for sure !! Such is life.... until next time...

More moans about temple !! Ho-hum....
Greetings Worlds...
Do any of you reading this hate answer phones & the whole "You are number 29 & your call will be answered shortly".... only to wait on the 'phone - for what seems like hours - & be told the person on the other end can't help you, because their computer is down !!
If their computers are "down" surely they could have a message, when you 'phone thru', that tells you this - so you don't waste half your life waiting !! As you can tell - that is today's pet peeve !! Onwards....
Hi... how are you all this fine & bright day ?! Well, it's bright here.... which is kind of good - as it's been raining for most of the night !! Hopefully it will stay dry for the rest of the day. I say this, mainly as B & ME have gone out, visiting B's Aunty...... so, if it's dry, it will be a better journey for them !!
They have only just left - so, they won't be home for quite a while yet........ tho', as ME has a rotten cold, they might come back sooner, rather than later - time will tell on that one !!
So - with the ladies of the house out... that leaves J here to keep an eye on me... to make sure I don't get into any trouble. "Me - in trouble ?" Very unlikely...... I'll probably land up back in bed, at some point... as I said above, it's been raining all night & as such, I didn't get too much sleep !! Never mind.....
There were some interesting things, happening in town yesterday...... We have this tidal river, running thru' the place & with the 'Spring tides' over the last couple of days, the water has come up, over the walls & flooded the park area . I don't think any houses were involved - but, the water left a mass of c**p on the grass...... oh well.....
I didn't get chance to post anything yesterday....... to explain.
I had an appointment, to go to a new clinic (well, new for me) & see a really nice lady. It was meant to be a short visit, but landed up being over an hour in length !! It was a good visit tho' & I have to go back again, next week.... at the same place & time. It's a little ways out of town, but.... if it help's, what the heck !!
In theory, I don't 'have' to go back - but, it will help... so, I'm happy to see the thing thru'... as best as I can, at least !!
Anyhoo - that took up a bit of the morning & afternoon... we then went back to town & met up with J. ME had come with us... which was good - as she looked in on some friends, while I was in the clinic thingy. She took B with her, so that ate up some of their time, while they waited for me !!
After we had been to the bank - paid some bills & done our shopping, the afternoon was all used up.... In the evening, we had a visit from one of the guys in Church, again, about a proposed visit to The Temple... and that was the day gone really !!
It wasn't the most hectic day, I've ever spent - but, the time went by too quickly & after the guy had gone, I was ready for my bed !! Too tired to do anything else !! Never mind... that was yesterday.....
Today - well, later this evening, we're having 2 more visitors. This time, the Missionaries are coming around - again, to talk & teach us about going to The Temple. I'm still not 100% convinced we'll be going....
... I said to the guy, last night, it would be good to know "now" - if we're going to be allowed to go - because, if after all these lessons & visits, it would be a big waste of everybody's time, if we're not going to be allowed !!
But - that's out of my hands & down to those above us........ but, I'm not convinced that we'll be going !!
I won't go on & on about this today... but, it seems like it's everybody else, who wants to have us there !! In fact, last night, when I told the guy, that I just wanted B & I to be there, on our own - with no one else, from our Congregation, he thought I was, or at least, it seemed to me, he thought I was joking !! I'm not - it's our day... I don't want to share it with loads of over people !!

The music of the moment is the brilliant new Cd from Heart !! It's called 'Fanatic' & it's well good.... It came in the post, yesterday, & I think I've played it 3 times already !! Well good & worth your money, if you see it about the place !!
Before this, I was playing the latest Cd, in my quest to replace my old David Bowie cassettes. This time around, it's 'Pinups' . To be honest - it ain't the longest Cd in the World... clocking in at about 33 minutes (I think) - so, it didn't take too much to listen to it all !!
I've actually just changed the music, back to the soundtrack of the film 'Iron Sky'. I watched the DVD again, last night... so - I thought I would give the music a go now !! Give the Heart Cd chance to cool down a bit !!
I still don't have any Zeppelin concerts..... well, not for a while at least. The band didn't do too many shows at this time of the year - well, none I've found on Cd as yet !! There are plenty at the end of this month & on thru' to the end of the year - so, I'll cover those, as the days come around !!
Ok - my plans for the rest of the day.... kick back & chill out a bit, I guess !! Hopefully, some new things will come in the post, so... I'll look forward to that. The Therion Cd's are on the ways to me - but, they won't get here until next week. Do any of you reading this hate answer phones & the whole "You are number 29 & your call will be answered shortly".... only to wait on the 'phone - for what seems like hours - & be told the person on the other end can't help you, because their computer is down !!
If their computers are "down" surely they could have a message, when you 'phone thru', that tells you this - so you don't waste half your life waiting !! As you can tell - that is today's pet peeve !! Onwards....
Hi... how are you all this fine & bright day ?! Well, it's bright here.... which is kind of good - as it's been raining for most of the night !! Hopefully it will stay dry for the rest of the day. I say this, mainly as B & ME have gone out, visiting B's Aunty...... so, if it's dry, it will be a better journey for them !!
They have only just left - so, they won't be home for quite a while yet........ tho', as ME has a rotten cold, they might come back sooner, rather than later - time will tell on that one !!
So - with the ladies of the house out... that leaves J here to keep an eye on me... to make sure I don't get into any trouble. "Me - in trouble ?" Very unlikely...... I'll probably land up back in bed, at some point... as I said above, it's been raining all night & as such, I didn't get too much sleep !! Never mind.....
There were some interesting things, happening in town yesterday...... We have this tidal river, running thru' the place & with the 'Spring tides' over the last couple of days, the water has come up, over the walls & flooded the park area . I don't think any houses were involved - but, the water left a mass of c**p on the grass...... oh well.....
I didn't get chance to post anything yesterday....... to explain.
I had an appointment, to go to a new clinic (well, new for me) & see a really nice lady. It was meant to be a short visit, but landed up being over an hour in length !! It was a good visit tho' & I have to go back again, next week.... at the same place & time. It's a little ways out of town, but.... if it help's, what the heck !!
In theory, I don't 'have' to go back - but, it will help... so, I'm happy to see the thing thru'... as best as I can, at least !!
Anyhoo - that took up a bit of the morning & afternoon... we then went back to town & met up with J. ME had come with us... which was good - as she looked in on some friends, while I was in the clinic thingy. She took B with her, so that ate up some of their time, while they waited for me !!
After we had been to the bank - paid some bills & done our shopping, the afternoon was all used up.... In the evening, we had a visit from one of the guys in Church, again, about a proposed visit to The Temple... and that was the day gone really !!
It wasn't the most hectic day, I've ever spent - but, the time went by too quickly & after the guy had gone, I was ready for my bed !! Too tired to do anything else !! Never mind... that was yesterday.....
Today - well, later this evening, we're having 2 more visitors. This time, the Missionaries are coming around - again, to talk & teach us about going to The Temple. I'm still not 100% convinced we'll be going....
... I said to the guy, last night, it would be good to know "now" - if we're going to be allowed to go - because, if after all these lessons & visits, it would be a big waste of everybody's time, if we're not going to be allowed !!
But - that's out of my hands & down to those above us........ but, I'm not convinced that we'll be going !!
I won't go on & on about this today... but, it seems like it's everybody else, who wants to have us there !! In fact, last night, when I told the guy, that I just wanted B & I to be there, on our own - with no one else, from our Congregation, he thought I was, or at least, it seemed to me, he thought I was joking !! I'm not - it's our day... I don't want to share it with loads of over people !!

The music of the moment is the brilliant new Cd from Heart !! It's called 'Fanatic' & it's well good.... It came in the post, yesterday, & I think I've played it 3 times already !! Well good & worth your money, if you see it about the place !!
Before this, I was playing the latest Cd, in my quest to replace my old David Bowie cassettes. This time around, it's 'Pinups' . To be honest - it ain't the longest Cd in the World... clocking in at about 33 minutes (I think) - so, it didn't take too much to listen to it all !!
I've actually just changed the music, back to the soundtrack of the film 'Iron Sky'. I watched the DVD again, last night... so - I thought I would give the music a go now !! Give the Heart Cd chance to cool down a bit !!
I still don't have any Zeppelin concerts..... well, not for a while at least. The band didn't do too many shows at this time of the year - well, none I've found on Cd as yet !! There are plenty at the end of this month & on thru' to the end of the year - so, I'll cover those, as the days come around !!
Ok - my plans for the rest of the day.... kick back & chill out a bit, I guess !! Hopefully, some new things will come in the post, so... I'll look forward to that. The Therion Cd's are on the ways to me - but, they won't get here until next week. Also, the special re-release of Peter Gabriel's 'So' album is due out on Monday - with 2 Cd's (I think) recorded live in Athens, in 1988. The latter bit came out on an old video - that some jerk stole from me, a few years back !! So - it will be good to get that again !!
By "stole"... well, I loaned it to the guy & he never brought it
back !! It's people like that - well, they are the reason I don't loan too many of my things out to anybody !! A few spoil it for the rest of us !!

Lot's of Church Things... Plus Jumping out Of A Balloon. Lots of fun....
Greetings Worlds !!
It's another bright & cheerful Tuesday, here in England..... the Sun is out, the sky is blue, tho'.. I can't make out the sea - it's just a little misty over in that direction. Never mind - I'm having a day, in the house, so... I don't really mind what the weather is doing too much !!
Ok - it's been a couple of days, since I last typed anything into this old blog of mine..... I think it was Saturday, tho' it might have been Friday !! I can't honestly remember !!
So - to go back a bit.... Saturday was B's birthday. I know I wrote about this - it's all coming back to me now.... Anyhoo - B had a great day, finished off with a visit from the Elder Missionaries, who brought a lady from Church with them. That was Saturday night...
On Sunday - as hoped, we went to Church & some thing quite amazing happened !! To explain...
We're Latter-Day Saint's... Mormons, to most people........ on the first Sunday, of each month, we have a special type of Church meeting, where members of the Congregation can go to the front & say how they feel - to tell of their Testimony of the Church & how The Lord is in our individual lives.
So - anyways... Bishop said something about giving those, who don't usually go to the front, the chance to do so..... usually, the "usual suspects" stand & what have you - but, Bishop asked for 10 minutes, to let others stand.
Well - I'm humbled to say, with-out any pushing from any one around her, My Wife & Dearest Friend, B stood & walked to the front & spoke about how she felt !! This is the very first time she has ever gone & spoke... in 5 years of attending Church... B has never done this !! It was amazing !! It was like nothing else in the World mattered - everyone in the room... well, B stood & talked & it was as if the whole room was stood with her, giving support..... it was brilliant !!
It meant sooooo much to everyone there - that this happened.... it was so brilliant !!
But - it did mean that the Elder from Spain, had to stand & give his Testimony.... he & B had a little bit of a "if you go, I'll go" type of bet on.... and as, B had stood - so... well, it was the first time he had stood & given his Testimony, in English !! Honestly - it was a day of firsts !!
In the end - I actually went to the front as well.... so, it was a real "family" affair, all around.... !!
It was brilliant.... but, for now, enough of Church.......
The music of the moment is by David Bowie. As mentioned before, I'm replacing my old tapes of his early albums, getting them on Cd. Today, it's the turn of his 'live' album 'Stage'. I think it was recorded on his 1978 World tour... and is possibly one of the last tapes I bought by the guy. As I don't have any Zeppelin concerts, from today, I thought I would list the tracks, on this Cd. They are:

I have some Cd's in the pipeline - on their ways to me. Heart's 'Fanatic' album.... which is their latest release & should be good... + a 2 Cd + DVD set by Therion. It's called 'Live Gothic' and I know very little about it - except the bits I've seen on Utube.
I know - I could of downloaded it, but... as I always say, buy the official stuff, it's got to be better !! I will let you know what they are like, when they get here.... which I hope will be later this week !!
I just realised, it's Tuesday..... and I missed out Monday !! No big deal - I slept thru' most of it !! Honestly - I didn't really come around, until mid afternoon... so, I had a lazy day really !! Mind you - after the previous few days, I probably needed the sleep !! Oh well.... onwards !!
Right, my plans for today...... none at all !! Well, nothing exciting..... tomorrow, but not today !!
I have to go to a new (to me) clinic in the afternoon..... to explain. I was seeing a guy, in town... but, he has decided that I should see another specialist. This is a lady, who I've not seen before - so, in the afternoon, B is going to drive me over & we're going to try & find her surgery. It's out of town, so that should be fun... but, I'm sure it will go well...... we'll have to wait & see !!
Then, in the evening, the two guys from Church are coming over to see us.... again, with a lesson about going to The Temple..... so, it will be good to see them again. That's followed on Thursday, by a visit from the Missionaries ...... Sooooo many Church things happening at the moment !! Maybe too many !!
But - it's not going to be a complete Church related week...... on Friday, hopefully, we're going up to Bristol, to check out the shops in the big shopping mall there. I've promised B she can "go mad" in the craft shops there - so, she'll enjoy that !! I know I'm going to enjoy myself, in the Cd shops that are there !! It should be good !!
Hopefully my body won't give up on me, between now & then - I'm really looking forward to going.... tho' I'm not sure how crowded it's going to be.... as you know, I'm not too keen on crowds !! Oh well - it's going to be an interesting week !! I'm sure I'll come home with more music... so, that won't be too bad !!
I must away - but, before I go... did any of you see the guy jump out of the balloon thingy ?! It was sooooo cool, it was well good !! Blow going to a Cd shop - I want to jump out of a balloon 23 miles up in the sky !! That sounds like a lot more fun !!

Short & Sweet.... B's Birthday Pt #2
Hi again Worlds !!
It has been another wonderful night. here in our little homestead !! The Elders showed up - complete with a lady, from the congregation. There was no real reason, for the visit - but, we made them welcome & all seemed to enjoy themselves !! That is what life should be like.....
It was good to see everybody - it really was !! Bless them for their time !! As it was B's birthday, it gave us quite a good day & the more the people came, the better the evening be came !!
Right - the music of the moment is Allman's 'The Fillmore Concerts'... so, that's rocking along nicely - far better than the David Bowie stuff I was playing earlier !! Well good !!
Ok - it's late at night & I need to sort myself out, ready for bed...... tomorrow, is Testimony Sunday & we have a bet on !! In we speak our Testimonies, one of the Elders is going to try & do his.... in English !! That will be a first - tomorrow, will be fun !!
Life is so good, at the moment...... I must go to bed, now - as I don't want to over sleep in the morning !!
So, with joy in my heart & laughter in my mind, plus a tear in every eye.... for tonight, I will be on my ways until next time..

B's birthday & more music.. Ho-hum !!
Greetings Worlds...
I hope your bit of the Universe is treating you well today !! It's been a great day, here in England... it's B's birthday !! So - a happy birthday to My Wife & Dearest Friend !! I won't tell you how old she is - that's probably a state secret or something..... needless to say, you never ask or give a Lady's age !!
As part of her gifts... I managed to track down the Cd soundtrack to 'E.R.'.... so, as well as all of the DVD's - which some of you will know, I've been buying all thru' the last 10 months - she now has the complete set !! It took a bit of doing, but... it was a plan & I love it when a plan comes together !!
Earlier, we - including ME - went to one of her favourite craft shops & she was able to track down some stuff she has been looking for... + a magazine, which seems to have been a bit hard to come by. So, that was good !!
Also - we went into the garden centre & picked up a nice orchid. I think it's become a little bit of a new passion, for B & she now has 4 quite nice ones, living in the landing window !!
As I type, she is behind me.... baking some stuff, for the family & the Missionaries. Since they have been coming over, she has taken "pity" on them & has been baking them odds & ends, to keep them fed !! Bless them - they need looking after !!
I know they enjoy their food... so, it's the least we - well, B - can do for them !!
So - B's behind me, in the kitchen, cooking.... J is upstairs, in his Hobbit Hole & ME is a few feet away from me, sat on the couch thingy, watching a film & 'playing' with her Ipad gizmo..... the film is one of my favourites, 'Bicentennial Man'. It's only a bit of fun.... & I've always liked the short stories it was based on.
I was listening to another David Bowie Cd.... As mentioned before... I'm trying to replace my old cassette tapes, by him & today's Cd of choice, has been 'Diamond Dogs'. It's a re-release & has a bonus disc - which I've not played yet, but looks quite interesting !!
Altho' I've had the tapes, for years & years... I've not played them for ages..... but, having said that, I have remembered most of the tracks !! I guess these older albums are pretty ingrained on my brain !!
Just took a short break... one of our friends came in with a card for B...... & there is going to be another new member of the family !!
But - I jump too far ahead....
I mentioned, a week or two back, that we had a gold fish..... well, Colin (the gold fish) passed away last night !! We only had him for a short while & it seemed like he enjoyed his bowl - but, last night, he gave the whole swim around the bowl life & died !!
A shame really.... but, the fish from the fair never last for very long.... which is a shame, but.....
Anyhoo - the lady who just visited, lives on a farm & has a bunch of kittens she is trying to find homes for. So, as it's B's birthday - I've agreed to let her have another one !! I'm not sure how our 3 will get along with the 'baby' - but, on Monday, B & ME are going down to the farm & pick one out !! Oh joy.... another mouth to feed..... ho-hum !!
I was just looking... I don't think I have any Zeppelin concerts from today, so.... there will be more.... next month I guess....
Oh - but, the new 2 Cd set has been ordered, so hopefully that will be here by the end of November !! I'm not too excited about it - but, it's got to be better than the boots that have been going around, over the last 5 years !! I'll let you know, when it gets here !!

David Bowie, Frank Zappa & Led Zeppelin....
Well "Hello" Worlds !!
How is your bit of Internet space treating you today ?! I'm on the up - or at least I think I am..... after several days of feeling like c**p - I seem to be getting a little better today !! That's good - just feeling down, well - it wasn't helping at all !!
I must admit - I could of used a better nights sleep, but that wasn't to be..... thankfully, I did manage to "nod off" eventually, but not until I had been loaded up with various pills & potions !! Which - in it's own way, was kind of funny !!
I needed to take just half of one of the pills.... so, I needed to use a knife to cut it down. No big deal - except, one part went onto the floor in one direction & the other seemed to fly off into Earth orbit !! So - I was down here, on hands & knees, looking for the 2 halves !!
I found one part quite quickly.... but, as the 3 cats were in, I had to find the second bit - just incase one of them found it & decided it looked tasty !! It - the pill - knocks me out... I don't think it would of done the cats any good at all !!
Anyhoo - after about 10 minutes, I found the missing bit.... about 5 feet from where it started from !! Oh well.... all ended well & I didn't drug any of the cats !!
B would not of been too happy with me... waking up this morning, to a "stoner" cat - or worse !!
Talking about My Wife & Dearest Friend...... she has gone out for a birthday lunch !! A lady, from Church, invited her out... so..... she 'll be home a while later I guess. So - that leaves J here to keep an eye on me... to make sure I don't get into any mischief !! That only leaves ME - who is at work today.... her last day for quite a while, as she has 9 days break now, until her next shift !! I know she is looking forward to the break !!
I think, just a couple of days off would of been good enough, but... 9 days... well, she won't know what to do with herself !!
At some point, all 4 of us are heading up towards Bristol, for a bit of a shopping trip.... to treat B... as it's her birthday & everything. They have a big craft shop, in the area we're heading to, so B can have fun..... & hopefully pick up something a little special. That's going to be next week some time !!

The music of the moment is a David Bowie concert. It's a 2 Cd set, recorded at the Nassau Coliseum, Uniondale USA on March 23rd 1976. It's an official set & came as part of a re-released box set of his 'Station To Station' Cd.

I have a lot of Bowie albums, from when they were released.... but, they are nearly all on cassette tape. So - I've made myself a little mission... I'm going to replace the tapes, with Cd's !! What has been a bonus tho' - quite a few of them - have been re-released with 'bonus' material. In this case, the 2 Cd concert !!
It's going to take a while to do replace them all.... and to be honest, I might never get around to doing them all, but it's a little plan & hopefully, I will manage to complete it !! Time will tell.....
Staying with music, a bit longer.... I have another 1969 concert by Zeppelin. This time, recorded at the Lyceum, in London. So, from October 12th 1969, the tracks are:
1) Good Times, Bad Times - Communication Breakdown
2) I Can't Quit You
3) Heartbreaker
4) You Shook Me
5) What Is & What Should Never Be
6) Dazed & Confused
7) How Many More Times
It's not the greatest recording in the World..... but, it's good to have in the collection !! As mentioned before - I have these notebooks, which I used to carry around the record fairs... so, I could check which concerts I had & to make sure I didn't get 2 the same !!
Well - I have 6 of these books.... and this Cd is listed on page 50 (out of 200) in book one - so, that will give you some clue, to how long I've had this Cd !! It's come out several times since - under different labels, but.... it's still the same tape !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff instead !! More another time....
The music of the moment has just changed to a Frank Zappa/The Mothers Cd.... 'Just Another Band From LA'. I've not played it in years - I'm not really sure why I'm playing it now !! Oh well... it's all music folks !!
Last night, 2 of the Missionaries came over to see us. They soon realised I wasn't 100% & didn't stay overly long. They gave me a Blessing & we talked about an exciting new project, that has been approved by The Bishop & others.... so, that will be good, if it gets going !!
I don't think some of the "older" members of The Congregation will like it - they are kind of set in their ways, but we will see how it
goes !! I will keep you posted, as best as I can.....
It was good to see them tho' - I was able to give them recordings of the General Conference session that we watched on Sunday evening. Hopefully, they will be able to give the Sisters their copies as well...... it will give them something to remember us by !!
I gave one of the Elders, on Sunday, a spare copy of the Allman Brothers 'Eat A Peach' Cd...... I had 2 - so, I gave him one, to play when his Mission comes to an end. I think he will enjoy it !!
Ok - my plans for today.... well, as B isn't going to be home for an hour or so - I might get a bit of extra sleep in !! To try & catch up on what I missed last night !! That sounds like a plan to me !!

How is your bit of Internet space treating you today ?! I'm on the up - or at least I think I am..... after several days of feeling like c**p - I seem to be getting a little better today !! That's good - just feeling down, well - it wasn't helping at all !!
I must admit - I could of used a better nights sleep, but that wasn't to be..... thankfully, I did manage to "nod off" eventually, but not until I had been loaded up with various pills & potions !! Which - in it's own way, was kind of funny !!

Another Day - Another Sleep !!
Hi Everybody !!
It's another wet & horrid day, here in England !! Looking out towards the sea... way off in the distance... all I can see is mist & rain, not nice at all !! Oh well - I'n not going outside, maybe back to bed, but certainly not outside !!
As I type, J is upstairs, ME is at work & B has gone into town.... plus a trip to the gym. She's been gone for a while, so I guess she'll be back in about an hour. By then, I will be tucked up warm, back in bed... to explain...
As some of you will know, on Saturday, I had a flu' jab.... I've written about this before (yesterday) & as expected, I've come down with a bit of a bug !! I slept most of yesterday & had an early night.... but, unfortunately, the bug is still doing it's worse... so, I'm off back to
bed !!
Not yet tho'.......
I wanted to mention a Zeppelin concert, from October 10th 1969. It's a bit special & worth 2 minutes of anybody's time !! The tracks are:

So - what's so special about it ?! Well, it was recorded in Paris, France, at the Olympia & was recorded professionally, for a radio broadcast. That broadcast didn't happen for a very long time - only coming on the air a year or 2 back. So, it's a brilliant recording + this tape, for me, marks my earliest version of 'Heartbreaker'. That's not too much of a big deal - because on the 12th of October, the band played a show in London & that tape has been around for many
years !! I'll cover that recording on Friday.... In the meantime, don't buy bootlegs, buy the official stuff instead !!
Tonight, we're suppose to have a visit by the Church members who have been for the last 2 weeks..... unfortunately, as I'm not feeling so good, B has phoned up the guys Wife & asked her to call off the visit. It won't be any good, if I'm still feeling like c**p... so, we'll re-arrange that one I guess !! Maybe for next week....
Oh, before I go..... we had a bit of interesting news this morning !! To explain.... when J was at school, one (or more) of the boys, who at that time, lived in the village, used to really bully him badly... really badly !! Well, we knew one of the families had moved out of the village.... this morning, we found out that they were now living "rough" in a caravan & that the boy behind the trouble, that J went thru', is now in prison !!
So there is some form of "justice" in the World....... it couldn't of happened to a nicer person !!
Before I get into trouble, from people who live in caravans..... please don't be offended by my comment above. Some of my family lived in 'vans & really had great homes......but, that doesn't include the family above !! Onwards....
Ok - my plans for today..... none at all, other than getting a few hours sleep into my system !! Now that sounds like a plan to me... so, I thank you for reading & logging in... until next time...

Conan, Music & A Quiet Day......
Greetings Worlds !!
How has your weekend been ? Our's - well.... it has been a little special, but more of that later.
Right - it's a very wet & horrid Tuesday here in old England....... and I'm home alone - so the music has been turned down to deafening & life is good !! At the moment, I'm listening to a 4 Cd set called 'Pure Guitar Legends'. I think the name is a bit off - some of the tracks hardly feature guitarist at all - but, it was only £1.20... so, the price was right !!
As for the family.... B has gone out to the gym - trying to work off some of the food she ate over the weekend & ME has taken J into town, to do a bit of shopping. On Saturday, it will be B's birthday... so, they have gone looking for extra gifts !! I know they have bought several things already, but..... they just wanted to see if there was anything else that took their fancy !!
So - that just leaves me here - along with one of the cats.... who seems to have worked out, it's better in here - rather than out in the rain !! he is our oldest, so.... I don't blame him really !! I think the other 2 are upstairs - probably on our bed !!
As for the weekend....
Well, as mentioned before - on Saturday, we went over to visit some friends in Taunton. We only stayed a couple of hours - but, I was really glad we didn't stay any longer !! By Sunday morning, I was completely tired out..... I know it was only a short trip out - but, as for my "body clock" - well, it couldn't handle it any more than that !!
But - having said that... in the late afternoon, early evening, all 4 of our Missionaries came over to sit with us & watch General Conference. I can not tell you what a brilliant experience it was for us !! To have 4 young people here, from 4 different countries.... laughing together, relaxing, talking, eating & just really enjoying the moment !! It was sooooo brilliant, I wish I could put into words how wonderful it was !!
As it was - I had prayed for a long time, that one day the Missionaries would be here, to enjoy the day & my prayer was answered in more ways than I could count.... it was really, really brilliant !!
They are under orders, to come back again & be with us.... to just relax & enjoy the moment. Hopefully, that can be arranged, before they go home... which one of the Sisters will be doing soon. I hope it will all come together......
...... besides, all the cake they left with, will be gone now - so, they have to re-stock !! Bless them !!
All being well, I will be able to attend Church, this coming Sunday, and (hopefully) be able to share with everybody, what a wonderful day it was.... onwards.... ever onwards.....

It always does - I have the vaccination & a couple of days later, I feel like c**p !! I actually felt poorly all night and it wasn't until B reminded me this morning, about the shot, that I put 2 & 2 together & worked out why I was feeling this way !! Bummer !!
In a day or two, it will pass & things should pick up a bit.... hope so !!

The band only did one more concert, in Japan.... that was on October 10th .. the following night to the above concert. I might list that one tomorrow - but, I'll see..... as I have another show, from the same date, just a different year !! I'll see how things go tomorrow !!
Just back to the here & now......
When the Missionaries got here, on Saturday, they were met by the NFH - who insisted they move their car..... it wasn't causing her any problems, she just seemed to make a point of making a big deal out of it all !! Why she can't understand that - it's her - that is causing all the upset, in our little Close !!
Oh well - B is determined to make the NFH's Dad move his van - as he always parks outside of our drive.... no matter what !! It seems there is one rule for them & as long as we live here, we have to "obey" her every wish !! Like that's going to happen !!
Also - the ongoing 'Saga of the Black Right Hand'... is ongoing !! The last couple of days have seen the swelling go down, but it's still black & horrid looking !! As long as the pain goes away, I'll be happy... but, for now..... well, it's letting me know it's still there !! Never mind.....
Judas Priest are on the Cd at the moment..... I think this is the track that they were taken to court over, a few years back, when those lads killed themselves in America. I'm not sure if they both died - but, I remember all the problems it caused !!
Ok - my plans for today...... I have a copy of 'Conan The Barbarian' here, so I'll probably watch that again. We sort of looked at it, last night, but I couldn't hear it all the ways thru'.... so, I'll give it another go later. Apart from that - it's going to be a quiet sort of day really !!

General Conference & a late night !!
Hi everybody !!
It's a late evening, here in England..... it's actually coming up to 10.30 pm & I'm sat here quietly, typing these words, while listening to General Conference. What I have heard so far has been really
good !!
Ok - it's been a very hectic day, for me at least !!
After a bit of a bad night, I was up & ready by 9 am....... mainly as my friend, from South America called in, about 10 am, to say a goodbye & to collect some Cd's I had put aside for him. He is flying home tomorrow & the Cd's & book, I gave him.... well, he can listen to them on the flight home !
He's great lad really & it was good to see him again. The month went by sooooo quickly !! As I say - it was great to see him & to get some new concerts from him !! I'll look forward, to give them all a great play thru' !!
As he was leaving our place - P (the guy who owns the dog) came over & had a quick drink with us.... and, from there, we had to go down to the local Dr's... it was "flu' jab' time again !! I can testify to the fact, that - instead of preventing my catching the flu' - I will, as usual, catch the blooming stuff !! I always do !!
I have to have the 'jab' - mainly as my body has given up on looking after me !! Oh well....
Ok - that was this morning. Just after 2.45 pm, we went over to visit our friends, about 10 miles away, in Taunton. It was great to see them... but, by about 6 pm... well, I was completely tired out !!
So, we headed for home...... & went food shopping as we came along the road. We only needed a very few things... but, we didn't see the point in going past the supermarket !! So we called in...... and came out £20 less in our bank a/c !!
Tomorrow - we hope, the Elders & the Sisters are going to visit us. All being well, they will be able to watch Conference with us. I spoke to them a couple of hours ago & everything seems to be in place, for their visit !! That - if it happens - will be a bit special !!
I don't have any Zeppelin concerts from today.... or, if I do - I can't remember anything about them !! However, I have ordered the new 2 Cd & 2 DVD set, which is out in November. Sure, the concert happened 5 years ago.... give or take.... but, it will be great to have a copy of
it !!
I did have a new DVD reach me, this morning...... It's by The Who & was filmed in Houston, Texas in 1975. I only saw a small bit of it, before we went out... but, it's really good !!
I'll give that a good playing over the coming week.... hopefully, there will be a Cd set, to go with it.... if not... I just have to make one for myself !!

It's a late evening, here in England..... it's actually coming up to 10.30 pm & I'm sat here quietly, typing these words, while listening to General Conference. What I have heard so far has been really
good !!
Ok - it's been a very hectic day, for me at least !!
After a bit of a bad night, I was up & ready by 9 am....... mainly as my friend, from South America called in, about 10 am, to say a goodbye & to collect some Cd's I had put aside for him. He is flying home tomorrow & the Cd's & book, I gave him.... well, he can listen to them on the flight home !
He's great lad really & it was good to see him again. The month went by sooooo quickly !! As I say - it was great to see him & to get some new concerts from him !! I'll look forward, to give them all a great play thru' !!
As he was leaving our place - P (the guy who owns the dog) came over & had a quick drink with us.... and, from there, we had to go down to the local Dr's... it was "flu' jab' time again !! I can testify to the fact, that - instead of preventing my catching the flu' - I will, as usual, catch the blooming stuff !! I always do !!
I have to have the 'jab' - mainly as my body has given up on looking after me !! Oh well....
Ok - that was this morning. Just after 2.45 pm, we went over to visit our friends, about 10 miles away, in Taunton. It was great to see them... but, by about 6 pm... well, I was completely tired out !!
So, we headed for home...... & went food shopping as we came along the road. We only needed a very few things... but, we didn't see the point in going past the supermarket !! So we called in...... and came out £20 less in our bank a/c !!

Blue Honey & A Death Metal Missionary !!
Well "Hello" Worlds !!
How is your bit of Internet space treating you today ?!! It's a cold & wet Friday, here in England.... we went down to the local garage a while ago - to pay a bill - and it wasn't very nice at all out there !!
Going down & handing over nearly £150 was bad enough... but, doing in the rain just - made things a little less positive !! Oh well.... at least we don't owe the guy any money - for the time being at least !! We have to have a new 'sump' fitted next week.... so, that will be another bill - just on Christmas (I guess) by the time he sends it out to us !!
Never mind - the old 'sump' is rusting badly - so, we have to have it done.... sooner, rather than later !! The car is 18 years old - so, it's to be expected I guess.... even if it runs really well, things are going to go bad on the thing !!
Right... as I type, B is here behind me, sorting out some washing to put in the machine. We'll have to use the dryer.. but... the stuff needs to be washed, rain or no rain !! She was going to the gym, this afternoon - but.... I think I talked her out of that !! There is always another day !!
J is also here - up in his Hobbit Hole of a room..... he pops out, now & again - usually for food...so... that just leaves ME. She is on the last of a 3 day week.... and has the whole weekend off. So - that will be good - means she can catch up a bit & have a rest !! As mentioned before - she basically does a 14 hour day... and it does catch up with her over a week !!
Soon, she has a 9 or 10 day break.... I know she is looking forward to that !! Bless her.... her Uni training is certainly paying off now !! She earns as much, in one day, as she used to earn in a week at her other job !! Amazing stuff !!
Ok - that's the family... the music of the moment is the Allman's 2011 Boston concert... well, one of them at least !! I think they did 3 shows... so, I've just put on one of them... well good !!
Which reminds me.... we had a surprise last night !!
As mentioned, yesterday, the Missionaries were came over. Well, one of them had never been here before & was really taken aback by the amount of Cd's in the living room. It turns out, he plays lots of instruments & used to be in a a Death Metal band !! How cool is
that !! From Death Metal to Mormon Missionary & still breathing to talk about it all.......
We thought we were the only hard rock Mormons in the World !! It's good to know we're not alone !!
What also surprised us - neither of the Missionaries have been in the Church longer than us !! I think they both joined in the last 2 years... so - as it turns out... we're not only older than the guys, but we've been here longer than them, by about 3 years or so !! Crazy stuff......
We have invited them to come around on Sunday, to watch General Conference, with us... so - they will let us know about if they are going to make it or not...... we will have to wait & see about that !! I think we'll extend the invite, to the 2 lady Missionaries as well - I don't want them to feel left out !!
Tomorrow, if all goes to plan... we're out to see our friends in Taunton....... we've not been there for quite a while, so.. it will be good to call around & see them. we've not been there, for a while - but that's been mainly due to my problems. But, at the moment, I'm feeling pretty good... so, we'll see how it goes !!
Yesterday, I met up with the guy, at the clinic... and, for my Sins, I'm being transferred to another clinic - which, the guy, thinks will be better suited to my needs & problems. I don't mind really... one place or person is as good as another to me !!
Tho' - there is one little problem.... The guy gave me one appointment & today, in the post, I've had a letter which has given me a completely different appointment !! So - I've dropped them an e-mail, to try & clarify which is correct..... it would be a bit of a bummer, to go one day & find it's the wrong one !!
Anyhoo - that's for next week - or the week after....

Many Moons ago, I picked up a copy of this show, on Cd.... it was in this fantastic package, really great to look at. Unfortunately, the actual sound on the Cd's was really, really bad !! So - between my friends & I the phrase "Remember Nagoya" became a mantra, as far as collecting stuff in really good packaging !! It might look great - but, that's not much good, if it sounds like c**p !!
Luckily, since then, a far better tape of the show has come my way & that is the one I've listed above.... and, as a soundboard recording, it really is much better on the old ears !! As always, don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff instead !!
Hopefully, if all goes well, I will meet up with my friend, who is visiting from South America - today or tomorrow. He returns to his 'home' on Sunday... so, all being well, we'll get together before he goes !! I have some more music to give him - so, even if I don't get to see him, we'll make sure he gets the Cd's !!
There was something on the BBC news, that made us smile. Some bee keepers, in France, were puzzled by the fact that, their bees were producing multi coloured honey !! It ranged from the normal yellow, thru' green, blue & red... all very weird. It turns out, that there is a factory nearby, that makes, or has something to do with the making of 'M & M's'... the sweets.
It seems, that the bees were able to pick up amounts of the colouring agents, used in the sweets & were taking it back to their hives !! I kid you not.... check it out on the BBC News web site..... it's not even April 1st !!
Ok - my plans for today... none at all really !! With our trip out tomorrow, I need to take a bit of "down time" this afternoon - to rest up, before we visit.... so, for now I will away. I thank you all for reading & logging in.... until next time...

Ok - I have a very hectic day ahead of me - so, I just wanted to do a quick post. mainly as I have another Zeppelin concert, from September 4th 1972... The tracks are:

I can't say too much about this concert... mainly because, altho' it's here in the collection... I can't remember what it sounds like !! It was recorded in Osaka... that's all I can't tell you about it !! Oh well... as always, don't buy bootlegs !!
The music of the moment is the fantastic Nightwish.... a collection of their singles. Which reminds me - it's 50 years ago now, that the first Beatles single - 'Love Me Do' was released. A little bit of trivia for you there !!
As I type - J is still in bed - B is upstairs tidying our room & ME is at work....... so, she 'll be home much later tonight. As for me... well - a little later, I have to go & see the guy at the clinic (again). I'm not sure how this is going to help - but, I'll stick with it !!
Then - later this afternoon..... the Missionaries are coming over. It's all part of our proposed trip to The Temple. Last night, quite late (for me) the 2 guys from Church came over & gave us a lesson. It was good to see them - tho' there are still questions I have, which - as yet - have gone un-answered !! I guess, in the end - well, those questions will be the "deal breaker" !! Time will tell !!
Right - I must be on my ways..... for once, I have things to do & not much time to do them in - bummer !! So... as always, I thank you all for your time, for logging in & reading my words... until next time...

Old videos & lots of music....
Greetings Worlds !!
Well - it's a Wednesday, here in England....... it's not overly warm outside, but... as I'm staying in the house, I'm not too worry about that !!
I'm home alone at the moment... all of the family have just left, for a quick trip into town. J has a meeting to attend and B was going to take him in.... but, ME (who is on a day off) decided she wanted her car cleaned, so she's driving & heading towards the car wash.
It's been a quiet day, so far... I've been watching old videos of music things, transferring them over to DVD. It's been fun - watching 'Monterey Pop'... the 1967 "festival". It was worth it - just for the few minutes that Canned Heat were on stage !! They all looked like extra's from 'Revenge of the Nerds' or something !! it was good to see the original drummer, Frank Cook, really going for it.... it's a shame that most, if not all of them, are dead now.
That was followed by 30 minutes of Neil Young, 'live' at the BBC in 1971 (I think)..... where are those people now ?! The ones in the audience, at the festival & the Neil Young concert ?! Oh well...
The music of the moment is Tom Petty's 4 Cd 'Anthology' live set.... I found I had 2 copies of it... so, I'm playing one of them now. Can't really think why I picked up 2 copies !! No brain, I guess !!
Later on, tonight... we're having visitors from The Church.... that should be interesting !! I'm not feeling 100% today - so, in some ways, I wish they were not coming over... but.... Tomorrow, the Missionaries are coming as well - so, we'll see where we go from there. It's all connected to our proposed visit to The Temple.... but... we'll see how that turns out !!

Found One - Lost One !!
Hi again Worlds !!
It's a really bright breezy day here in England...... and I have a had a fantastic night's sleep !! "Yippeeee !!"
What is so special about that ?! Well, as long time readers will know.... I don't sleep too well - but, last night & mainly thanks to modern medicines, I had a beauty !! Ok - I was a little tardy, getting out of bed this morning.... but, I was up by 10.30 am.... so, it wasn't too bad !!
Anyhoo.... that was last night...... today is another Tuesday, which means I get chocolate !! I won't go back over all of that... but, Tuesday is chocolate day !! To that end - B has gone into town, to take in a gym class & pick up some food & stuff.
So - with ME at work.... her 4th day in a row...., that just leaves J here to look after me, should I need it.... all is good in my little
World !!
It's not been the best few days.....
If you go back, over my old post, you will read about the "Saga of the Black Left Hand". Well, on Saturday morning, I woke with what felt like "pins & needles" in my right hand..... no biggy, just a bit of a pain. But, now - as I type - I have the "Saga of the Big Black Right
Hand" !! I kid you not - my right hand & arm have swollen to a small club & have both turned a nice shade of blue black !! Great stuff !!
I saw my local Dr yesterday & he has no real idea why it's turn out this way.... but, has given me some more pills to take - to fight off any infection that might be lurking...... it's all good...... even if I am finding it kind of hard to use my hand !! Being right handed, it's proving kind of hard work.... but, no big deal really !!

This was one of the first 10 Cd boots I ever had by Zeppelin.... it was one of those "must haves" from the early 1990's !! It is - like a lot of the tapes that came out of Japan - very well recorded & really good to listen to. But - as always, don't buy bootlegs.... buy the official stuff instead !!
Right - back to the weekend..... for a change, it was B who was poorly on Sunday & didn't really feel well enough to go very far. So - that meant we stayed at home...... it wasn't any good my driving the car - if I had done that, we wouldn't of made it anyways !! So - we stayed at home & had a quiet day.
As it was - B still felt poorly yesterday & today.... and I wish she had skipped going to the gym today.... but, she wanted to give it a try - to see how she got on. Hopefully, she won't over do anything !! Never mind - she knows her own limits, so.... I will have to leave it to her !!
Even tho' we were not at Church - on Sunday - as far as I know, we're still having visitors (from Church) on Wednesday & Thursday this week..... I can't exactly remember when... what time.... by, I seem to remember they're coming over !!
It's all to do with the possibility of B & I going up to Temple...... I'm not 100% sure how that is going to turn out.... mainly as no one will tell me what to expect when we get there !! That is a real problem for me !!
I cannot understand the fact, that - even tho' we might go to Temple - no one will tell me what to expect, when we get there !! It's my life and I feel I need that bit of information, before I make the trip !! After all - if I don't know what is going to happen - whose to say, I'll want it to happen !!
It would be a real bummer, to go all the way there - it's about a 200 mile round trip - and then, once I've made the effort, that I don't want to do what is expected of me !! Am I making sense ?!
Also - another problem, that people don't seem to take on board..... it's our trip to Temple !! The people who we talk with, all seem too keen to share the experience with us.... they want to be there with us.... !! It's going to be our time, not their's..... !! I am really having a problem with this whole thing.......oh well !!
It's been 4 years since we were first talked to, about going to The Temple..... the way things are going, I'm going to be dead before we get there....."such is life"..... I really wish some time it wasn't !!
Onto other things.....
Last night, I was looking for my old 'Dr Who' tapes.... I wanted to try & find the first episodes, that featured Matt Smith.... well, I didn't find it last night & honestly thought I had thrown it away, with the other old tapes. Well - this morning - more by chance, than anything, I found the video I was looking for...... unfortunately, it was on a tape that - I had hoped - contained earlier shows.......!!
So - altho' I have found the tape I was looking for..... it means I have lost another one !! So - I've found one & lost one.... all at the same time !! Bummer - tho' it's no big thing.... if I have thrown the earlier shows away, I will just have to live with it.... there is no way I'm going to buy the missing episodes !! Maybe the tape will show up... if not, well.... there is nothing I can do about it now......... unless the BBC repeat them at some later date !! Time will tell....
Ok - my plans for today..... as usual, I don't really have any !! I'll try & find the "missing" 'Dr Who' tape - but, as I don't hold out much hope of finding it... I probably won't look too hard !! Apart from that, and listening to some music... well, it's going to be a quiet day, here in the homestead !!
So - with Gov't Mule blasting away... I will be on my ways... until next time....

It's a really bright breezy day here in England...... and I have a had a fantastic night's sleep !! "Yippeeee !!"
What is so special about that ?! Well, as long time readers will know.... I don't sleep too well - but, last night & mainly thanks to modern medicines, I had a beauty !! Ok - I was a little tardy, getting out of bed this morning.... but, I was up by 10.30 am.... so, it wasn't too bad !!
Anyhoo.... that was last night...... today is another Tuesday, which means I get chocolate !! I won't go back over all of that... but, Tuesday is chocolate day !! To that end - B has gone into town, to take in a gym class & pick up some food & stuff.
So - with ME at work.... her 4th day in a row...., that just leaves J here to look after me, should I need it.... all is good in my little
World !!
It's not been the best few days.....
If you go back, over my old post, you will read about the "Saga of the Black Left Hand". Well, on Saturday morning, I woke with what felt like "pins & needles" in my right hand..... no biggy, just a bit of a pain. But, now - as I type - I have the "Saga of the Big Black Right
Hand" !! I kid you not - my right hand & arm have swollen to a small club & have both turned a nice shade of blue black !! Great stuff !!
I saw my local Dr yesterday & he has no real idea why it's turn out this way.... but, has given me some more pills to take - to fight off any infection that might be lurking...... it's all good...... even if I am finding it kind of hard to use my hand !! Being right handed, it's proving kind of hard work.... but, no big deal really !!
Ok - enough of the hand....
The music of the moment is a Gov't Mule concert Cd..... May 5th 2001. I know very little about this show, other than a friend gave it to me a while back. It was recorded in New Orleans and plays really well - so......
Staying with music, I have another Zeppelin concert from this day, October 2nd 1972. It was, again, in Japan - again from Tokyo, but...... this time it was the first night of the 1972 tour. The tracks are:
