Greetings World's !!
I hope you have all had a great weekend ?! It's another Monday - here in the wilds of England... so, I guess, if you live over in the far East, it's already Tuesday & if you live, over in the far West, it's just about Sunday night !! That's kind of weird. Not the times & stuff... but the phrase "far West" !! I often hear the "far East"...... but, I don't think I've ever really come across the "far West" before !!
Oh well....
First off... our prayers go out to all of you who have been hit by the tornado, in America. I have no clue what you are all going thru'..... Our prayers also, to all the families still waiting for news, about their love ones, involved in various events, around the World.
It's been a bad few months, really - for things going wrong. Airplane crashes & the ferry boat disaster !! Our thoughts are with you all.
Right - it's another Monday... the last one of April !! It's also the 28th !! For those of you knew to my writings.....
On May 28th, last year, I had surgery on my spine. It was meant to be a one off operation & afterwards, a spinal condition, that I have had since 1973, when I broke my back, would be over & done with !!
Well - I had the surgery.... all 11 hours of it.... and things just went down hill from there. So - instead of one surgery, I've now had 7 !! Yep - 7 of the lovely things - with number 8 due on May 12th !! Such fun.... you can read all about it, by checking out old posts, some of which I was able to do, in the hospital.... using my Wife's laptop. Beyond that.... well.... it's 11 months of my life I won't get back - but..... not to worry !!
Today, at some point, I'm expecting a nurse, to visit... to change my dressings. At the moment they are coming every day !! That's not a lot of fun, mainly as it hurts like hell, but.... !! By now, they should of finished with me - but, somebody got it wrong & they have to keep coming back !!
If I see my Consultant, on Wednesday and he decides not to do the surgery, because of the size of my wound, I will be really pissed !! He wanted a vac pump on me - to reduce the size of the wound - instead, it's got bigger !! I don't know what is going to happen !! He might decide to call of the surgery - or, he might decided to go ahead with it..... I'll see what he says, on Wednesday, when I see him, in the Exeter hospital !!
If it gets cancelled - it will be the local nurses fault..... I think they screwed up & didn't act quick enough to fix the problem !! Me - hell, I'm just the bloody patient, what do I know ?! Probably more than them, when it comes to my wound..... !! Oh well...
Because I'm waiting for the nurse - I've had to stay at home. B has gone out, into town.... to pay some bills & get her hair done. She won't be home, for a few hours - so.... I'm here on my tot !! ME is working & J is over in Wales..... nevermind !!
It does mean, however, that I can blast the music around the house !! The music of the moment.... well, it's from their 'Live' album & the group is the very brilliant Family !! I found the Cd. last night - when I was sorting thru' a shelf & decided to give it a play.... the tracks are:
1) Good News... Bad News
2) Spanish Tide
3) Part Of The Load
4) Drowned In Wine
5) Holding The Compass
6) Between Blue & Me
7) Children
8) In My Own Time
9) Take Your Partners
10) Weavers Answer
I had the chance to see Family, at least, twice.... the last time was probably back in the mid '70's - up in Leeds Town hall. They were really great, on the night...... The first time I saw them... well - they were played off stage by their support band... America !! Anybody remember America ?! They were a 3 piece & then went on to become a duo... of sorts. A great band tho' - I loved their early albums... !!
I gave Zeppelin's 'Celebration Day' album a bit of a play, yesterday. It's not that good - if you compare it to the various bootlegs of the same show !! The official version is too....... well !!
I've just change the music over to the DVD of the above.... something to listen to & not something I've played too often. I'll just listen to it..... can't be bothered to watch the thing !! I saw Zep a couple of times....and Page & Plant etc etc. I guess my favourite show has to be from Earls Court on May 24th 1975. Ok - I know it was a very long time ago, but... I was there & I'll always have a soft spot for that concert !!
I played Page & Plant's show, from St Austell 15-7-95 a while back... the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Whole Lotta Love
2) Bring It On Home
3) Ramble On
4) No Quarter
5) Gallows Pole
6) Hurdy Gurdy Solo
7) Yallah
8) Since I've Been Loving You
9) The Song Remains The Same
CD 2
1) Friends
2) Calling To You
3) Four Sticks
4) Kashmir
5) Blue Gene Baby
6) Black Dog
7) In The Evening
I always loved this show - mainly as I was backstage for a goodly part of it..... just a few feet from the band. To be that close some of my favourite "rock heroes" - well, it was a bit of a buzz !! Also - on the same night, I got to meet up with the guys from Big Country.
They were the support band, for part of the tour...... I was really upset, when I heard Stuart Adamson was dead !! To talk with him - all be it, for a very few minutes - well..... a really great night & a great bunch of guys !!
Ok - I've had a break.... the nurse has been !! I now have a brand new dressing on my back..... and life is good. I explained, to the lady that came today, that I would not be here, on Wednesday..... going down to the hospital & all.... so, one of the nurses is going to come over, tomorrow & skip a day, on Wednesday !!
If I will need them, to come here, after that - well..... I don't really know !! It will depend on what the Consultant decides to do..... and all of that is really in the "Lap of the Gods" as they say !!
Oh well.... I will be on my ways.... with Zeppelin playing 'Trampled Underfoot' on the DVD, I think I'm going up to the bed, lay down & read a bit more of 'A Game Of Thrones' or what ever it's called !! I've forgotten exactly which book I'm on, at the moment.... me & my lack of brain !! Nevermind....
I will away - I thank you all for taking the time to log in & read my words...... until next time....
Bye Bye

Goodbye Sagan... Ho-hum....
Greetings World's !!
I hope you are all doing well, this fine & Sunny afternoon ?! It's the best part of 3pm here, in the wilds of England.... it was meant to have rained today, but so far, nothing has come along..... maybe later.
It's not been a great couple of days.... but more of that, later on.... first the family !!
As I type - the 2 "Ladies of the House" are here with me..... both over to my left. They have started watching 'Lizard Lick Towing' & it's got a hook into them !! It is a bit of silliness - all fun & games !! I'm not really sure about it... a bit of fun, that's all it is really !!
As for J.... he is still over in Wales, doing his Uni thing - I'm not sure when he will be back in this area.... that's up to him. Time will tel on that one, I guess !!
As for me... well, as I say........ not too good !!
About a month or so ago, I went down to Exeter & saw this Consultant guy. He is all to do with plastic surgery & stuff... if all goes to plan, I'm suppose to go back to his hospital, on May 12th & have the wound in my back sorted. That's the plan - which, at the moment doesn't - for me - seem like it's going to come together......
He wanted me to have this Vac pump fitted... in the hope it would sort the wound out, just a little batter, to make his task a little easier. Well - as of today, the wound hasn't got any better, infact... it's got worse, if that is possible !!
In a nut shell... a nurse came over, yesterday, to change the dressings (again !!) and - it hasn't felt right, since she did it.... it's been hurting way too much. The Vac pump has been "alarming" all night - to the point, where I disconnected it & stuck the blooming thing in the kitchen - as far away, from the bedroom, as I could !!
Anyhoo - today... another nurse has come out - luckily, the same nurse, who saw the wound a couple of weeks ago. Guess what ? The bloody pump has done no good at all !! Infact - the wound is now twice as big as it was, about 3 weeks ago.... that is just crazy !! The pump was meant to help & it's got worse !!
I cannot see how the surgery will go ahead now, not with the wound going the way it is !! Time will tell - but, next Wednesday, I have to go back & see the Consultant... so, it will be his decision. It's really maddening... it's coming up to the 11 month mark, since the 1st surgery... and.... !!
At least I know, now, why it has been hurting more & more....... it's just getting bigger, hence the extra pain !! Bloody sickening really.... !!
So - instead of the nurses coming around every 72 hours - the nurse is having to come back every day to redress it, great stuff - just when I thought it was all coming to a great end... things have gone tits up !!
I shouldn't moan - I'm very fortunate, in as much I have a great family around me, for support & everything. I also know, there are people very much, in a worse state than me.... sooooo, I really need to look on the bright side of life.... and put my hands back in the hands of those, who know far much about medical things, than myself. If they can sort it out, that would be great - if not... it will just mean things are going to take a while longer !!
Enough moaning... goodbye Sagan.
I'm not on book - I don't know - in 'The Game Of Thrones' series. It's called 'a Feast For Crows' and.. it's really interesting !! One of the better reads I've had, in a long while. Maybe not so good as 'The Dig Tree' - but, that's a totally different type of thing really !!
As for the music of the moment..
I'm listening to Steve Wonder's 'Live 8' set... it's just playing away, in the background. I picked this Cd - mainly as it has The Who & Pink Floyd on it !! I'm glad I transferred it over to Cd, from the DVD's.... it will give me hours of fun, listening to it.... all 8 Cd's !! "Wow" !!.... I can't believe it took sooooo many docs ?! Nevermind.... it will be a bit of fun, just playing the stuff I like on them.
I'm hoping, next week, to treat myself to a couple of Cd's I've seen...
One is the latest Transatlantic set.... & the other is a thing, from an old Marillion band member, called 'Script Revisited'. The latter is a 2 Cd live set... the former... well, it's a 3 disc thingy. I could buy the cheaper - not by much - one disc version.... but, I want the disc of cover versions, that they do... !! I do like their stuff - a great collection of musicians, doing what they do best !!
Oh well.... I'm hurting, so I'm going for a lay back & read type of afternoon...... sounds like a great plan to me !!
As always - thank you for logging in... until next time..

"Independence Day" 23-4-2014
Hi...
Were you shaken by the thunder ? It will pass with the night
Don't you be frightened my child, rest your head here awhile
I must tell you about papa an the price that he paid
For speaking his heart out one day they came and took him away
Fighting here is all that remains for us now
We've stopped trying to hide
Our hatred inside
We're crying out loud
Baby we once were so proud
Jesus where are you now
Where have you gone desaparecido
I hope someone remembers your name
Where have you gone desaparecido
How can they turn their backs to our shame
Where have you gone desaparecido
I taste your blood in the roots of this land
Where have you gone desaparecido
Mi querido, only yesterday I held your hand
There's a dark road no one speaks of
But we must live with the truth
It runs from the Plaza De Mayo to the Rio Sumpul
They Say someday, when we die, we'll ride wild horses !
In a World without end - but what do we do until then
Standing here and staring straight into the lies
They Can Steal all that we have
But never can they steal the hope from our eyes
Baby our heart must survive; how many times must we die
Where have you gone desaparecido
I see your face in every grain of sand
Where have you gone desaparecido
Mi querido, only yesterday I held your hand.

'Keys To Ascension' and other stuff...
Greetings World's !!
I hope you are all well & happy, this fine Tuesday afternoon ?! It's actually a little after 6pm - so, that kind of makes it evening, I guess..... not really sure about that one !!
Anyhoo - as I type, B is over to my left, reading a TV magazine (I think) and - as the guys are at work, or Uni... that just leaves me, here typing these words to you !! It's been an interesting day really... to explain.
Our car... well, it's about 20 years old & coming to the end of it's life expectancy. I'm not sure just how long it will last, but - today - we went & looked at a replacement. I can take my pick of any car I like - but, as I've had 2 fantastic drives, in the past, with General Motor's.... I decided to call in & have a look at a new one.
It all looks very nice - comfy seats & stuff.... but, I want to look at some other brands along the ways. The salesman was really keen, to show us everything... but, I want to get my next surgery out of the ways - before I make a final decision !!
But - it was interesting to look at some thing new - as opposed to out trusted old Toyota !! Ok - the new one didn't have a tape deck... 8 track or cassette... but, I'm sure I can live with-out it !! I'm only joking - I'm not 100% sure that any car, in this day & age, has a tape deck !! Oh well.....
I'll check out some other makes - get the surgery over & done with & then decide !! Maybe I'll have it as a birthday pressy, to myself, in July.... that would be fun.... !!
I will let you know what I decided to get.... not yet tho', as I say, I have to get May 12th out of the way, first & take it from there. I can't see any point in getting another car, if things go belly up in the operating theater !! I don't have a great deal of faith, as it's been a very long year, as far as surgeries have gone !!
B did have to remind me, in the car salesman's office.... I said my next surgery was June 12th - as she pointed out - it's a month earlier !! Nevermind - it still gives me time to check out other makes.... !! Oh well....
As for the music of the moment - well, I'm still on a bit of a Yes kick. After writing about 'The Yes Album' a few days back, I dug out a couple of their other things. At the very moment, I'm playing 'America' off of the 'Live In Obispo' set, The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Siberian Khatru
2) The Revealing Science Of God
3) America
4) Onward
5) Awaken
CD 2
1) I've Seen All Good People
2) Going For The One
3) Time & A Word
4) Close To The Edge
5) Turn Of The Century
6) And You & I
CD 3
1) Roundabout
2) Starship Trooper
As you might know, I love 'live' albums - especially with long tracks on them.... this one ticks all the boxes. It has 3 tracks, pushing around the 20 minute mark - so..... I'm a happy puppy !!
I best point out - these 3 discs are part of a 4 Cd set... 'Keys To Ascension'. The rest of the discs are made up with 7 (I think) studio tracks & 2 of them clock in around the magic 20 minutes !!
In the car - coming home, from town, I was listening to a live in London set, by Stephen Stills. I'm not 100% sure what it's called - but, it's well good !! I like the way it covers the older stuff - 'Bluebird'... 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes' - 'For What It's Worth' and some newer tracks, in with it. A good bit of fun - I really liked it - oh well !!
Tomorrow - if all goes to plan, I have another visit from the nurse booked in.... it's dressings time again !! "Yippeeeee" !! That will give me something to look forward to !!
The last nurse... well, the last change of dressings was on Sunday, so it's not going to be a lot of fun, as the longer the stuff is on me, the more it hurts to take off !! Oh well - one nurse did come out, yesterday, to look at the thing, but.... she didn't touch the wound, in any ways. So, if you hear screaming... you will know it's me !!
As I say - it will give me something to look forward to.... not !! Nevermind.... that's really all I've got in the pipeline - as far as plans go.
Something I might have mentioned before - I've been looking around, for a different 'Internet Provider'.... I have been with this one, in various forms & names, sine we got the computer.... a very long time ago !!
So - I 'phoned them up (3 times in total) and asked if they would like to lower my fees.... and - in the end - I've landed up with £10 a month off + a free 3 month 'Sky Movies' package !! It payed to to keep on at them.... if they wanted to keep me, it had to be the right price & - to me - it seems to have payed off !!
If - in a year - if I'm not happy, I'll have another moan at them..... As you will know, I'm always moaning about something - so, I've got a bit of experience to back me up !!
I must away.... I thank you all for reading my words & taking the time to log in.... all comments are welcome, I would really like to know what you guys listen to..... until next time...
Bye Bye

Prince & Roger Waters Ho-hum..
Hi
I wish you all, a "Happy" Easter Weekend...
Let us remember Our Lord, Jesus Christ, on this day.... for his love & devotion.
I'm not going to prattle on, about how wonderful our lives are, all these years, after his gift to us..... you can all believe & read want you want.... it's up to the individual. Me - I'm a Latter-Day Saint... so, I'm very bias, on the subject... but, each to his own, this fine Sunny day !!
I wasn't really going to post anything, today.... but - something very strange has happened this morning. First tho' - the family !!
B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is upstairs, doing some house work....... she is about here, someplace, doing all the thing, that I wish I could help her more with !! I try.... but, I can only do sooooo much, I just wish it was more !!
As for our Daughter... the beautiful ME - yep, I'm bias there as well..... Most man say they have the best kids in the World, they are all liars... I have them, not those man !! As for ME - she is on a day off work (I think) today.... she went into town, early... but, I think she will be home later.
That just leaves our Son - J - who, as long tire readers will know, is over in Wales... doing his Uni course. I'm not sure when I'll see him again.
So - what is sooooo strange about this morning ?!
It's all to do with music really....
I found the 41st halftime Super Bowl show.... as played by Prince, a few years ago. I have found myself, playing it over & over again.... just listening to it !! I hardly ever play a whole album, in one sitting - but, these 12 minutes or so, have really got a hook into me !!
From 'All Along The Watchtower' to the climax of 'Purple Rain'.... it's a fantastic bit of music !! I'm not a huge Price fan.... I think I might have 2 of his albums here... but, this halftime show - just go onto the net & check it out !!
I've now moved onto the Roger Waters album, 'Amused To Death'. If nothing else, I do really play some weird & wonderful stuff here, in my little home !! That's about it really....
I thank you fort logging in...... until next time...
Bye Bye

'The Yes Album'..... Ho-hum...
Greetings Worlds !!
On the news, as I type, they have told the news of the death, of a high school teacher. It seems that, he - I think it was a man - was rescued from the Korean ferry..... but, sadly he felt the need to take his own life. My prayers go out to him, and his family......
It's Easter.... well, it's been Holy Week and today, it's Good Friday. So - for us, here in our little home, it's a very special time. Hopefully, this weekend, will pass - with out someone, somewhere feeling the need to cause suffering to others !!
As I type, both of the ladies of the house are here with me !! ME is going off to work, but not until later...... and B is meeting up with her Cousin, in town.... in about an hour from now. So, it will be a magic roundabout... with both of them going out & returning later. I don't mind - it means I can blast the music out thru' the Bose !!
At the moment, I'm listen to the Allman Brothers 'Play All Night - Live At The Beacon Theater 1992'. It came out some months ago now - but, as it was tucked into a bunch of other stuff - not Allman related, I kind of lost track of it for a while !! I must get my Cd's in a better order - they are starting to go everywhere !!
If.... and it's a big if... I had thought about it, before now, I could of done them all up, together & listed, in some kind of order..... before my birthday, in July !! It would been a ideal thing to have completed - I would of known, exactly, how many Cd's there are around the place & - more importantly - they would of been in the right order !!
Oh well.... I guess I could make a start on it.... but, I don't think I'm going to get it done before July !! Oh well.... I'll see how things go !!
I've done a track listing, for the Cd's above.... so..... I'll skip that today. But - I've been thinking about albums, that have had some kind of effect on my music buying "life" !! Today it has to be 'The Yes Album'.... by the almighty Yes, which came out - I think, in 1972.... or there about !!
I have it here, somewhere on Cd - but, it's one of those albums that I've actually kept on vinyl - it's kind of, that good !!
The tracks are:
1) Yours I No Disgrace
2) The Clap
3) Starship Trooper:
(a) Life Seeker
(b) Disillusion
(c) Wurm
4) I've Seen All Good People:
(a) Your Move
(b) All Good People
5) A Venture
6) Perpetual Change
I'm sorry about the wrong spelling on 'Wurm' - I just don't really know how to get the right letter in there...... I am not computer friendly & that's a fact !!
From the opening chord, right thru' to the end of 'Perpetual Change' - this is an album & a bit !! From buying it, I went on to buy 'Fragile' - 'Close To The Edge' - Relayer' - 'Going For The One' - 'Yessongs' - 'Yesshows' plus, at least 2 box sets.... "Why ?".... I don't know, it seemed the right thing to do at the time !!
I'm not 100% sure, what else is here - I know there are several live sets.... plus DVD's of the band on stage. I just kind of like the band - tho' I'm not really sure what the line up is, at the moment !! I know Jan Anderson was "dumped" by the band, a year or more ago.... I'm not sure who is singing with them now.
One other album, which is a must - if you like any kind of "Prog Rock" is 'Tales From Topographic Oceans'..... 4 tracks & each one a bit of something special. One album, which - quite honestly - I wish I had avoided is 'In The Present - Live From Lyon' !! Ok - I bought it "blind" - knowing nothing about the thing.... but, I really wish I had left it on the shelf !! Oh well.... you pays your money & takes your chances !!
...... That's enough about music, for now. I'm sure I'll find something else, the next time I put fingers to keyboard !!
Ok - my plans for today.... well, I'm just going to lay back, listen to some more music & read a bit more from book 4 of 'A Game Of Thrones'. I had just got to the bit, where King Joff' has choked to death, at his own wedding feast !! Great stuff.... hopefully the character will stay "dead" !! His bad guy, teenage rebellion bit was getting too much.... for me, at least !! Never mind....
So, I will be on my ways... thank you all, for taking the time to read my words, by accident or by design... it's good to know you are out there & Mr Puck-tin hasn't invaded your part of the World... until next time...
Bye Bye

Newton, Sagan & Jeff Buckley
Hi again...
How is your Universe treating you ? I hope - if everything looks good, you are feeling well & happy with your piece of the World - whichever one you happen to live on !! I am firmly of the believe, that our thoughts - either in the form of radio waves.... or in any other form, go way beyond the little "Blue Dot" we call Earth - so "Hi" everybody...... !!
It's a Thursday here in England.... and, apart from our kitten, Archie - I think I'm home alone. There might be more cats, here & about - but... not as far as I can see.
ME has just 'phoned - to ask if she left her mobile here someplace.... not as far as I can see, or hear. She was going to call it & if I heard it here, I'm to call her back - so far tho' - I can't here anything !! I might give it a call, just in case it's upstairs someplace.
Nope - it's not here... sorry little lady !!
Right, where was I ? Oh yes... it's a Thursday & I'm home alone-ish.
B has gone into town, mainly to get to the bank - more money going in, I'm sorry to say !! Because it's a very special weekend, it means that the bank is not going to be open - I think - until Tuesday.... so, we have to try & guess which cash is coming out & how much to put in, to cover it all !!
Nevermind..... we try to keep our heads above water - but, we (like everyone else) have a budget, that we try & stick to.... so, the cash has to go in !! That's got to be the first "Bummer" of the day !!
The other big "Bummer" has to be the Q & A that Mr Puck-tin gave.... I saw a bit of it - come on mate..... get a new ego !! How you can sit there & lie about what is happening on the ground,. in Ukraine... it beggar's belief, it really does !! Just remember - the whole World is watching & I, for one, am getting pretty pissed off, with the way you.... aka Russia, is involving yourself in a Country, which really and truly needs a lot of help - not tanks & troops on it's border, let alone any who might already be on the ground !!
How would the rest of the World react, if America suddenly shipped a load of it's massive troop capability, in the countryside, on the Ukrainian border, with Russia ?! Heck - I'm sure Mr Puck-tin would send his troops in to defend the Russian speakers of Ukraine, honestly guys - look in the mirror & give yourselves a reality check !!
Oh well - me moaning about it, will hardly end the situation..... but, at least I'm "free" enough to write what I feel on the subject !!
Back to the family - as I got sidetracked....
ME is working this afternoon/evening..... so, she will be home in a few hours or more !! As for J - my ever loving "hate your guts" Son... well, as far as I know, he is still in Wales. B has - or is going to send him a card, for Easter... with my love, attached, sooooo, i shouldn't really moan !!
It's kind of "sad"... I have 2 Sons.... neither of them, really, stay in contact with me - maybe it's them, hating my guts.... more than likely, it's me !! After all - 2 of them can't be wrong ?! Oh well..... my life goes on !!
As for the music of the moment.... I'm listening to a DVD of Jeff Buckley, 'Live In Chicago'.... it was recorded on May 13th 1995 & the tracks are:
1) Dream Brother
2) Love, You Shouldn't Of Come Over
3) Mojo Pin
4) So Real
5) Last Goodbye
6) Eternal Life
7) Kick Out The Jams
8) Lilac Wine
9) What Will You Say
10) Grace
11) Vancouver
12) Kanga Roo
13) Hallelujah
I went thru' a phase, of buying anything I could find, by Tim & Jeff Buckley... but, after a while, I found I was just buying the same stuff, just re-named & packaged !! Nevermind...
... I was really fortunate, in seeing Tim Buckley, live.... I think when he supported Pink Floyd, at Knebworth, in 1975. At the time - I didn't take on board, just how good he was... my loss. They were both great performers & songwriters.
One of the ironies, of the music business...... Tim Buckley was on The Monkees TV show once (maybe more) playing 'Song To The Siren'.... I have the tape of the show, here someplace !! How crazy is that...
Almost as the 'Prog Rock' magazine recently reviewing The Monkees 'Head' soundtrack Cd & movie !! Honestly - a band, who were Universally disliked, by all the so called "serious" music critics, getting praise for a film & album, that barely made a mark, here in England. Me - I was lucky... I bought the Lp & have loved it ever since !! Moving on.....
Newton....
Mr Newton came up with a theory, about an apple falling on his head & gravity & stuff.... well, today, I put his theory into practice !! I fell completely off the bed.... banging my head, somehow, on the way down.
I don't really know how I did it... one second, I was asleep - the next, I'm on the floor, with a bit of blood, coming out of a small cut on my head..... totally dumb !!
So - I know gravity works.... even for jerks like me !! As for the cut on my head... it's a scratch, which I'm guessing will hurt more tomorrow, as the bruising comes out... nevermind, I'm glad to have added my name, to Mr Newton's !!
Sagan.....
Carl Sagan, has to be up there, with some of the greatest scientists in the World. Unfortunately, he passed away, some years ago now. So - in his honour, I've Christened my new "Vac pump" Sagan..... in keeping with the other names, given - by me - to my other pumps, over the last 11 months, or whatever its been !!
The nurse - finally - came around, about lunch time and now, I'm re-connected & will be, for some days to come. That rates another "Bummer" really... but, as long as it does the trick & helps my back wound, I shouldn't complain too much !!
B gave her honest opinion & told me the wound has got worse, since she last saw it... saw, I guess the pump is a good idea, as long as it works !! The nurse - or one of them - will be back on Saturday, to change the dressing... so, I have that bit of pain to look forward too.... Ho-hum !!
Anyhoo - that's about it, for today....
Jeff Buckley has supplied the music, & the other guys have added their little bit, to my life.... ain't it grand !! Well, for me it is... My prayers go out to all of the families, who have lost someone, in the Korean sinking.
I really do thank you all, for logging in & reading my words.... until next time..
Bye Bye

The Hooters & Mr Puck-tin... Ho-hum !!
Hi again from the "wilds of England" !!
It's a very warm & bright Wednesday, here in our little part of the Universe..... I thought it was due to rain today - but, so far...
nothing !! Oh well...
It's actually mid-afternoon here & as I type, B is using the hoover thingy, to collect up today's heap of cat fur !! Honestly - considering how much they loose, it's a wonder the 4 of them are not completely bald !! I'm not sure which of the moggies are in.... but, I know the youngest "Archie" was here, filling his face !!
Nevermind.... as long as they're happy, what the heck !!
As I say - B is here, with me.... ME is out house hunting, with a friend & J, well, to the best of my knowledge is still over in Wales, doing his Uni thingy !! That just leaves me......
I've had a busy day - by my standards - with a trip into town + a visit to our local Dr's surgery... to explain !!
I'm very fortunate, in as much as I have a great "circle" of Consultants.... who, in their various ways, look out for my well being. I don't always appreciate everything they do for me, but..... !!
Anyhoo - today, I visited with one of my favourite Dr's & we had a lovely hour together !! I hope - from my meeting, this morning, she will put me back in the hands of another lady, who I saw for a number of months, in 2012/2013 !! It might seem a long winded way of seeing a person - but, I have to go "thru' channels" and so on .... The nice thing is, after this morning's visit - the Consultant has told me, to 'phone her direct, if I need to..... rather than going the long ways around !! That's really great...
As I wrote, in an earlier post.... I'm awaiting the placement of another "Vac pump" thingy. I've been a little messed around, with this person & that... so much so, that today, the local nurse has been 'phoning around, on my behave - trying to find out what is going on !!
As I type - there is a small chance, that the pump will be fitted tomorrow !! I'm not holding my breath - but, it would be great, to get the thing on & working !! The lady in charge, of fitting the thing, was in the village (this morning) but, as yet she doesn't actually have a pump, to give me !! "Bummer" !!
So - is she gets her hands, on one, she might call me up, later & we can go from there. I don't really care, anymore..... I keep getting different dates & times..... so, I'll just sit back & wait for the powers that be, to sort it all out !! At some point - who knows when - it will all come together & life will go on... and on !! Hopefully, by the time I head back, to Exeter... at the end of the month, it will be all done & dusted. Time will tell, I guess !!
On that front - going down to Exeter.. B found another appointment, for me. She was checking some things out & found it stuck inside an old envelope. The upshot is - I have to go down to the hospital, 3 times, all within a couple of weeks of each other !!
When you consider, it's a 100 mile round trip - that's not sooooo
good !! I 'phoned the hospital, in the hope of doing 2 of the 3 things, on the same day.... but, nope - it ain't as easy as that !! It seems that the plastic surgeons have clinics on one day - while the other place..... well, they're not open on that day !! So - we have to go down an extra day - which is not too good, but - it's out of my hands really !!
That's for later.... back to today, tho'..... I went in & had my dressings changed (again)..... so, you may have heard the screaming !! Actually - it's not that bad really !! Gone are the days of 90 minutes of pure pain !! The days of all but passing out, as the nurses did their best, to sort the wound out. At least, looking back at it all, I can, kind of, smile about it - how things used to hurt & everything. Nevermind - if I can get this next plastic surgery out of the way, things might be on the up & up !!
Oh well..... onto the music of the moment..
As I type, I'm playing the Allman Brothers 'The Fillmore Concerts'. It's dated 1992 - I didn't realise I had had it that long !! It's a great 2 Cd set....the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Statesboro' Blues
2) Trouble No More
3) Don't Keep Me Wondering
4) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
5) One Way Out
6) Done Somebody Wrong
7) Stormy Monday
8) You Don't Love Me
CD 2
1) Hot 'Lanta
2) Whipping Post
3) Mountain Jam
4) Drunken Hearted Boy
I dug it off the shelves, mainly as we had a surprise visitor, a couple of nights ago. One of the Missionaries popped in, with his girlfriend. He has finished his Mission & always promised he would come back & see us. As he lives in Germany, we really didn't expect to see him, so soon..... but, it was fantastic that he came around to see us !!
While he was here, on his Mission, I gave him a copy of 'Eat A Peach' - on the express instruction, to play it, after his Mission. Anyhoo - he loved it, especially 'Mountain Jam' - so, as a kind of memory of his visit, I dug this off the shelf !! It's really a great collection.....
Earlier - mainly as I hadn't heard it, in a while - I played The Who's live album 'Who's Last'. I used to have the 2 Lp set - but, with the Cd's coming out, it landed up on one disc. The tracks are:
1) My Generation
2) I Can't Explain
3) Substitute
4) Behind Blue Eyes
5) Baba O'Riley
6) Boris The Spider
7) Who Are You
8) Pinball Wizard
9) See Me, Feel Me
10) Love, Reign O'er Me
11) Long Live Rock
12) Live Rock - Reprise
13) Won't Get Fooled Again
14) Dr Jimmy
15) Magic Bus
16) Summertime Blues
17) Twist & Shout
I was thinking, as I type the above - I can't honestly remember if I ever saw The Who in concert ?! How dumb is that - I know I have a few live albums & most of their studio stuff - but, if I ever saw them, in the flesh... I don't remember !!
Oh well - it's a good little album... showing off Kenny Jones on drums. I did like the studio albums, that he did with the band. Oh well..... staying with music...
I was also playing The Hooters' 'Both Sides Live' Cd...... the tracks are:
1) I'm Alive
2) Time Stand Still
3) South Ferry Road
4) All You Zombies
5) The Boys Of Summer
6) Johnny B
7) Where The Wind May Blow
8) Karla With A K
9) 25 Hours A day
10) Satellite
11) And We Danced
12) Day By day
13) free Again
Ok - I know I've written a lot of tracks down, today - but... it's been a good day, for me & music... so, I wanted to share !!
The Hooters album - well, it's part of 4 Cd box set... 'The Hooters - 30th Anniversary Collection'. I bought it a while back & - if you have a chance, to hear it, go & have a bit of fun... it's a really fun collection of stuff !! That's enough of music for now...
On to sadder news.... our prayers go out, to all of those families involved in the ferry disaster, which happen earlier today. I've only seen bits of it - but..... !!
Plus - again, I ask all of you, to contact your local Russian embassies & voice your concerns, if you have any, about how Mr Puck-tin is fu**ing around in the Eastern part of Ukraine !! It really stinks, that a country can do whatever it feels like, to take control of it's neighbour !!
Also - if you want to see democracy in action, watch 'Russia Today - International'... I think that's what it's called. honestly, it's sooooo off the wall, as far as it's reporting, it's unbelievable !! Go on, give yourself a laugh & tune in, you will not be disappointed !!
Ok - my plans for today... well, I'm going to kick back & just relax a bit. The nurse did a great job, in fixing my dressing - but, I'm paying the price now. nevermind - I've still got a good ways to go, reading book 4 - or whatever it is - of 'The Game Of Thrones'... so.... I will get on with that !!
As always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words.... until next time....
Bye Bye

Grateful Dead & expecting to be shot... Ho-hum.
Hi Everybody !!
I hope you are well, in your bit of this Universe....... the one we call home. It's a very bright, Sunny day, here in the wilds of England. I've just waved B off, from the front door.... well, to be honest - from the living room window !! I could of stayed, by the door... but... !!
She - B - has gone into town, to do a bit of shopping & to pay some cash, into the bank. I'm guessing she will be home, in about an hour, maybe a little more. So - with the "kids" out... ME is working a late shift & J is over in Wales.... that just leaves me here, on my ownsome... playing some more Grateful Dead, so - life is good !!
Well - it would be.... if the news was a little better, concerning my back. To tray & explain !! As best as I can.....
As long time readers will know, I saw a plastic surgeon, in the hospital, down in Exeter. That was a while back now.... maybe 3 weeks or so ago. He - at that time, said he wanted me to have another "Vac-pump" fitted, to help with the healing process..... I know, I've written all about this before...... !!
Anyhoo - last week, I think I had a nurse come to visit me & she was going to ask her boss, what she thought was best - if I needed one or not. In a nut shell, they wanted me, to call the surgeon guy & ask him - myself - if he thought I should go back, on the pump !! That was one step too far, for me...
It's not my job, to call up Consultants, because the nurse doesn't want to !! I might be wrong - but, I think the nurses are running scared, mainly as the Consultant wanted a pump, put onto my back & they didn't get around to doing it !!
As far as I was told - they were coming today, to fit the pump. Nobody has confirmed any of that - I'm only working on what I was told, by another nurse..... about 10 days or so. Sooooo - that's why I've not gone with B, into town.... I'm working on what I've been told - that the pump was going to be fitted today !! It's now about 2.20pm & - so far - nobody has got here !!
On top of all of this.... I had to have my dressings changed, again this morning. The nurse there - in my local surgery told us, that as far as she knew - the pump nurses were coming here, on Wednesday - two days from now !! It's crazy - at this rate, my blooming back will have healed over, before the Consultant gets to operate on me..... if that's what he decides to do !!
Sooooo - I decided to work on what I've been told, to my face, by the nurses who have been to the house, to see me. If they decide, not to come today - well, at least I can honestly tell them "I was home...." !!
If they come on Wednesday... well, I probably won't be home. I have to go into town, to see another Consultant. As I've re-booked that appointment, once already - I'm not going to cancel it again !! I'll have to do what I can.... and today, I can only sit here & wait for them to get here !! Oh well.....
Back to music...
As I mentioned above, I'm listening to another Grateful Dead album. This is a 3 Cd set, recorded at the Fillmore East On April 28th 1971. It's called 'Typical Daydream' & - I'm guessing - it's probably a bootleg. The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Truckin'
2) Beat It Down The Line
3) Loser
4) El Paso
5) The Rub
6) Bird Song
7) Playin' In The Band
8) Cumberland Blues

10) Me & Bobby McGee
11) I'm A King Bee
12) Bertha
13) Casey Jones
CD 2

2) Alligator (medley)
3) China Cat Sunflower (medley)

Some of the tracks on CD 3 are from April 29th..... and, yep - it's a bootleg. As always - don't buy bootlegs, buy the official stuff, that bands put out !! This is a good set of Cd's tho' - when I last played it, I have no idea, I'm guessing it was some time ago !! Oh well.....
Before i sign off....
I see that Mr Puck-tin is having another go at the Eastern part of Ukraine !! How the guys, who stand there, facing the camera's on "Russia Today - International" can stand there & read the tripe they say. How it's the Western Countries, who are stirring up trouble & how the Ukrainian people are not doing any of the stuff, that we see on the TV stations !!
Come on Mr Puck-tin.... step back & take a good look in the mirror. If you think, that the person you see reflected there, is right & the rest of the (so called) "free" World is wrong.... well, you need to go see a Dr...... I'm certain they will find a nice padded cell for you, with one of those nice white jackets, the ones that lace up, at the back..... You and your ego will be quite happy there..... better there, rather than trying to delude the rest of the World, especially the Russian people !!
I must go - I think I've had enough for one day !! I can only slag off one dictator at at a time, before my fingers start to ache - time to turn the computer off & the music down to deafening !! Besides.... I'm expecting to get shot, sometime very soon !! Ho-hum...
I thank you all for logging in & reading my words..... from America, all the ways across the World.... and back again..... until next time..

I have become Comfortably Numb....
Hi again World's !!
It's a Friday afternoon, here in England.... and, apart from a couple of cats & some loud music, I'm home alone. It's no big deal - being on my own - B has taken ME out & about.... mainly to give my Daughter a bit of "chillaxe therapy" !!
With the house buying & the people who are selling dragging their feet, at what seems like every stage - our little ME needs to get out & go window shopping, or something.... just to.... well, no real reason, but as I say... it will give her a bit of "chillaxe therapy" !!
So - with J - our Son, over in Wales, doing his Uni course.... that just leaves me here..... with the cats !!
The last 24 hours have really been an "up & down" type of day !! To try & explain........
As I wrote, yesterday - I had a nurse visit me...... the second, within a week. Anyways - she came & looked at my back wound & redressed it. Her plan was, then, to go & speak to her boss, as to whether I really needed another 'Vac pump' thingy.
Add to all of the above, I also had 2 letters, from the Consultant, in Exeter - one for a check up & the second, an actual date for my next surgery. So - as far as I was concerned - things were moving along nicely & I hoped, after all these months, I could sense an "end game" to everything !!
But - later, after I finished posting & we were all here.... the 'phone rang & it was the nurse again. I still can't believe this next bit - but, the nurse actually wants me to 'phone the Consultant & ask him, myself, what he wants done !!
This guy - well, he is a Consultant.... meaning, as far as Dr's go - he is pretty far up the food chain, when it comes to plastic surgery. He wrote to the local area nurses & organised - for them - to do the "vac pump" dressing !! That was about 3 weeks ago - now, after all of these weeks have gone by - the local nurses - want me, to ask him if he still wants it done.... that's not my job !!
I feel, as it's been so long, since he ordered the dressing to be done & - so far - they've not got around to doing it..... well, they don't want to speak to him, themselves, incase he has a go at them, for not doing the bloody dressing as he wanted !!
This morning, I had to go back to the local Dr's surgery, to get a new dressing put on..... even tho' it was only done, yesterday - it wasn't right & had to be changed again.
Anyhoo - while I was there, we talked to the nurse, who normally does the dressing changes, thru' the week. Like me - she thought it was a bit weird - a patient doesn't 'phone a Consultant, to check what he wants doing next.... that's the nurses job !!
It really is a dumb situation to find myself in !! No matter - I have to go back to Exeter, in a week or so..... so, if the "vac pump" hasn't been fitted, it ain't going to be my problem !! Ok - I know it's my problem, in as much as it's my back - but, it's not my problem, that the nurses haven't fitted the thing, as requested !!
It will be interesting to see how things go, from here.... I will keep you up to date - especially if my back falls apart on me & I'm left like a lump of goo on the floor !! Oh well.....
As it's been a really warm & dry day, B helped me in the garage !! I really have been meaning to get out there, for months & months - but, as you will all know.... things have got on top of me, over the last year !!
But - today... well, we went out there & had a bit of a look around. I wanted, mainly, to get to the train track, that has been laying on the board out there, for over a year now. Thankfully, it wasn't in too bad a condition & I brought in most of it. I can now clean it off & decide where to go next, as far as building another layout....... you know us men.... we love our toy trains !!
I also took the opportunity, to empty my larger tool box. I have two, but the smaller of the two - well, it's in good order.... it is the larger one, that I really wanted to clear out !!
I would really love, to get a bass unit, for the larger box... to explain.
The box is one of these, that uses wheels, with drawers & stuff like that in it, they usually come in red - so, you probably know the type of thing I mean. There is a bass unit, with a drawer unit on top.... well, I only have the top bit - I've never got around to buying the bottom section !!
When I worked, especially in the early days, when I was staying in one place, I built up a large tool collection, so I had a box to match !! Then, well - I got promoted & I was always moving around.... therefore, I didn't need my tools so much & I never got around to buying the bass section !! Oh well....
I have seen a lovely box tho' - a top & bottom.... unfortunately, it's about £400 !! I don't think I will be buying one of those, anytime
soon !! Moving on... before I find an excuse for buying one !!
The music of the moment....
Well, I wanted something to relax to & I've been listening to Pink Floyd's 'Earls Court 20-10-94' set. It's basically the soundtrack to the DVD of the Earls Court show..... I put the music onto 2 Cd's - as I've said, sooooo many times before, so I can listening to it easier, rather than putting the DVD in !!
The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Shine On You Crazy Diamond
2) Learning To Fly
3) High Hopes
4) Take It Back
5) Coming Back To Life
6) Sorrow
7) Keep Talking
8) Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2
9) One Of These Days
CD 2
1) The Dark Side Of The Moon
2) Wish You Were Here
3) Comfortably Numb
4) Run Like Hell
Ok - I know that 'Dark Side...' is made up of lots of different tracks, but... as this is for my own listening, I couldn't be bothered to list all of them - so, it lands up as one track, lasting 46 minutes & 21 seconds. It still sound great tho' !!
As for Pink Floyd.... I've been thinking about, which of their albums, started my love for them. I guess I have to blame a guy called Phillip Alderman, who I went to school with. He loaned me 'Atom Heart Mother' - on condition that I used my machinery - which for the time, was really good quality - to record it onto a cassette for him.
I don't know why he wanted a tape of the album.... I think he had a girlfriend & he wanted to give it to her. Hey Phillip - how times have changed !! I don't normally write names - but, if you ever read these words, my old friend, I hope you are well.... wherever you are !!
From there - well, I had to buy 'Meddle' and more or less, everything that they released ever since !! I'm, not sure which I would say is my favourite album..... but, their live stuff - bootleg or official - has always been top of my list !!
Ok - I must think about being on my ways..... but, one thing I wanted to mention.
I've written about the Neighbour From Hell, who lives next door. Well, when we finished in the garage, this morning, I helped B put 2 lengths of wood, down our side of the boundary..... I wanted to get it out of the way, so...... Anyhoo - the NFH has come home & has taken a great interest in our wood !!
To be honest - I only put it there, to see what she would do !! It seems to have taken her eye !! Great stuff - but, I really must get a
life !!
I'm away.... thank you for logging in & reading my words... until next time...
Bye Bye
Grateful Dead & Hospital Dates !!
Greetings World's !!
I hope your bit of the Universe is treating you well, this fine & Sunny day ?! Here in England, I can look out, right over the beach & can see the sea coming ashore. It must be tide changing time - there are some white waves coming in.... it looks pretty good.
It's another Thursday.... a really strange day...... to explain.
I've been waiting a while, to hear about if I was going to have any more surgeries. In particular, I've been waiting for any kind of news, concerning a second skin graft. Well - today, things are moving right along !!
Not only has a nurse been, to see me, but - in the post - I've had 2 letters from the hospital, in Exeter. The first one, well.... that's from the Consultant, who wants to see me (again) on April 30th - I'm guessing to check me over & see how the back is doing. The second one is to actually give me a time & date, to have the next surgery - that's booked for May 12th !!
"Wow" - things are really coming along.... I wait for what seems like forever, to hear any news & suddenly, it all happens at once !! That can't be bad..... I hope now, that things will not get cancelled, that would be a real bummer !!
The nurse that came, wanted to check me out for another 'Vac pump'...... to see how & where it can be fitted. She seems to think I won't need one - or if I do, it will be an interesting "fit" - mainly as the hole in my back is sooooo much smaller than it was !! Oh well.......
If I do have one fitted, it will start next Monday - so, I will have to find a suitable name for it !! The first one was called "Rover" - as it had to go, everywhere I went... and the second was called "Curiosity" - as a sort of reference to the Mars rover. You know, the one that has been sending back fantastic images of the Martian surface. Oh well.... if it all happens, I'll find a name for it....
Moving on.... I forgot to mention the family !!
As I type, I'm here, on my own...... listening to the Grateful Dead, at just below deafening !! The ladies of the house, well - they waited until the nurse left (in case I needed help) and are now heading over to Taunton, to do some shopping. Our lovely Daughter wanted to go into a particular shop, so B went with her.
J - our Son - is over in Wales..... so, I'm home alone !! Looking around me, I can't see any of the cats, so - I really am here, on my own !! Better turn the music up, just a little louder.... !!
At the moment - and for some hours to come - I'm playing a 4 Cd set, from the Dead's April 1971 concerts, at New York's 'Fillmore East'. It's a great set of music - covering so many classic songs. The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Truckin'
2) Bertha
3) Next Time You See Me
4) Beat It On Down The Line
5) Bird Song

11) We Bid You Goodnight
Ok - so they repeat a couple of the songs - and you get 2 sets of drum solo's..... but, it's still a fantastic set !! Thankfully, since Cd's came out some 30 years ago... or when ever it was, sets like this, well - they come into their own !! On Lp's there never could be a collection, like this one. Not only would it of meant loads of discs - but, the whole "flow" of the music been missing, as you had to change the records !!
Yesterday, I played several albums, on vinyl - and, to be honest, it was fun - just to hear them again, crackles & all.... but, for convenience, I can't fault the multi play Cd decks !! Oh well....
I was thinking, about which Grateful Dead album it was, that got me started..... which one it was, that meant so much to me, that I bought more & more, afterwards.
There are 2 really.... I guess.
First off, I have to give a mention, to a 3 Lp set, that came out featuring several bands, that played at the 1971 Glastonbury Fayre, here in Somerset. It was a great few days...... anyhoo, on this 3 Lp set, there is a whole side, of vinyl, with the Dead playing 'Dark Star'..... or I think it does, it's been a while since I dug it out & played it !!
The Grateful Dead were not at the Fayre, but - it was one of those Lp's that sparked off a liking for them. As mentioned (many times) before.... I always liked 'live' albums & to have a 3 Lp set, with the Dead playing on a whole side... well that was great !!
From that first real taste of them live - I bought the 3 Lp set 'Europe '72'...... which had, for me, the defining track - the one that really got a hook into me - '(Walk Me Out In The) Morning Dew' !!
Ok - I know I have collected several versions of that song, over the years..... one by Blackfoot, live at Knebworth, in 1985 stands out - but, the Dead's version, on that album always brings home the memories !! The tracks on the 'Europe '72' album are:
1) Cumberland Blues
2) He's Gone
3) One More Saturday Night
4) Jack Straw
5) You Win Again
6) China Cat Sunflower
7) I Know You Rider
8) Brown-Eyed Woman
9) Hurts Me Too
10) Ramble On Rose
11) Sugar Magnolia
12) Mr Charlie
13) Tennessee Jed
14) Truckin'
15) Epilogue
16) Prelude
17) (Walk Me Out In The) Morning Dew
It's a great album - so, if you get chance - give it a listen !! Side 6, of the vinyl version, starts with 'Truckin' and just goes on it's merry way from there..... it's a fantastic bit of music & a fantastic piece of memory jerking for your's truly !!
Moving away, from music...
B bought me the latest installment of 'The Hobbit' on DVD !! I love it - tho' - I've got to be honest - I've not watched it all the ways thru' yet !! B has wanted to watch it, with me.... so, we are looking at it, in sections...... a bit frustrating, but I'm enjoying it !!
I've got the DVD version - when it comes out, or if it comes out, in a longer version - I'll get the "Blue Ray" then........ it seemed dumb to get both versions, on Blue Ray - especially as the DVD was only £8 !! A bit of a bargain really....... Oh well !!
Ok - my plans for the day ?
Well, now that the nurse has been & gone, I might go upstairs & read some more of the 'Game Of Thrones' book...... I need to crack on with it - just to try & get to the end, before I go into the hospital. I know that's not going to be - if at all - for a few weeks, but.... I want to get it finished !! It's a good read & I want to get to the end of it...... after all, I have the 5th book here, as well - so, I hope I will be on that one, if I land up staying in the hospital, for any length of time !!
If the surgery goes ahead - it will be almost one year, since the first one !! May 28th last year & May 12 this year !! I never thought I was letting myself in for all of this - it's Ok really.... I'm a little pissed, that it has taken sooooo long, but these things happen, I guess !!
Right, I must away - I have a book to read.....
As always, I thank you for taking the time, to log in & read my words....... until next time...
Bye Bye

Stand tall World... stand firm !!
Hi again World's !!
It's been a few days, since my last posting - apart from feeling like crap, well.... I just didn't have the get up & go, which I needed to write anything !! Sorry about that !! Not to worry, it's another Wednesday, here in the wilds of England.....
To kind of envision, just how far we are, out in the sticks - B has just got out, to do some work, on the side garden..... and has stumbled across a fair size rat !! Honestly, another day, another bit of livestock !! It could of been worse - at least the rat was dead & not running around the place !! Ho-hum.... !!
So - it's the middle of the week & it's been pretty good, so far. I'm not sure if I mentioned it, before..... but our washing machine packed up, last Thursday. It took, until yesterday, to get a guy out here, to fix the thing !! In many ways - that wasn't too back....
...... but - and you know, from reading my words before - there is always a but !! The guy came out, said he had fixed it and left the house...... within 30 minutes, the machine was dead, for the second time !! It was completely zonked & out of it !! "Bummer" !!
So - there we were, with 7 heaps of washing & no machine to wash it with !! I called up the help line - to see about getting the guy back out here and I got hold of another guy, guess what he told me "It won't be this week" !! I kid you not - it's a Tuesday & I can't get a guy out here, for another 6 days or more !! That's just crazy.... !!
I asked to speak to his boss, or at least the complaints dept. & I spoke to a great guy, called Adil. Who tried for 5 minutes, to get some help for me - but, he failed miserably !! I then asked to speak to his boss..... only to be told, that he (Adil) was only allowed to speak to one customer, for 5 minutes, before moving on to the next person in the queue !!
I pointed out to Adil - that I had been waiting, on the 'phone, for just about 45 minutes & I demanded to speak to his boss !! He told me, that - for some reason - he couldn't do that. When I asked if he actually ran the company, himself.... in other words, that he - Adil - was the "man in charge".... well, he laughed - I guess he saw the funny side of it..... oh well !!
He eventually put me thru' to a lady, whose name is Kath 27981 - strange names..... ?! I told the lady, the whole story & because of my illness, I had to have my washing machine working !! She then told me & I quote..." your health is not my problem" !!
This is true - but, from that moment onwards - I just knew I wasn't getting anywhere, so I hung up the 'phone, with just a mention that I would be writing to their head office, to see if it's company policy, to be sooooo bloody rude to people ?!
I bought this washing machine, because the store manager recommended it..... and I bought this machine, because - due to my illness, I needed something that would cope, with my washing needs. It is true, the fact that I am ill, has nothing to do, with the lady I spoke to...... but, her being sooooo bloody minded to me, on the 'phone, well.... I think the people - at the top of her particular tree of life - will soon be told about it.
As it was - last night, another lady called. to tell me that a man would be out, this morning, to fix the machine !! However - it's too late for that..... I fixed the bloody thing, myself, last night !! So, this morning, B called them back & told them not to bother to come around !! Ho-hum....
I know, by fixing it, myself, I have broken the repair agreement..... but, I needed a machine that works..... not a repairman, who might come around next week & and look at it then !! It was sooooo simple to fix - I don't know why he didn't spot the problem, in the first
place !! Nevermind.....
Back to My Wife & Dearest Friend.... B !! She is outside, in the garden, doing a bit of this & a bit of that. She had Murphy, out there, with her. That was earlier - I'm not sure if he is still there or not. He is a fantastic dog - it's a shame his owner spends so much time at work - poor old Murphy gets left "home alone" for far too much
time !! Not our problem, I'm sorry to say......
As for the rest of the family.... ME is working a morning shift & will be home, later in the afternoon. Later on, she is going over to M's place & is spending the night there. If all goes well, they with have some good news, on the house they are buying !! This last month or so - well, it hasn't be easy on the pair of them....... bless them both !!
J - our Son - is still over in West Wales, at Uni..... long time readers will know, he started his course there, last September (I think)..... as far as I know, he is doing Ok. I don't kept in his loop of people,
that he feels, need to be kept up to date, on what he is doing....... His choice - after all, he really hates my guts.... so, as I've accepted this state of affairs, there is very little more I can add to the situation !!
In the 'Game Of Thrones' novels - one of the catchphrases is "Winter Is Coming" - well, I have my own little 'phrase..... "May Is Coming" !! Ok - you don't have to worry about why I have that phrase - it's just something I have to look forward to...... and, as it's April 9th today..... well, I only have another 21+ days to go......!!
So - that's the washing machine & the family - now, the music !!
I'm having a vinyl only day, today...... I've taken the 2012 Allman Brothers box set, off of the top of the record deck..... and, for the last hour or so, I've been going thru' some old Lp's !! It's been a bit of fun, if nothing else........ mind you, as I have all of the various things on Cd - I don't know why I'm bothering ?!
So far, I've played Canned Heat's set - featuring Jon Lee Hooker 'Hooker 'n' Heat' - plus Deep Purple's 'Made In Europe' - plus Rush's 'Exit ... Stage Left' - plus a couple of other things. I've put some of the albums back, into their box thingy & I can't really remember which ones... ?! Oh well..... such is life !! As I say - it's been a bit of fun.....
I see, on the various news channels.... Mr Puck-tin has been asked for "help" from some of the people, in the East of Ukraine. Now - I might be wrong - but, is this not the same way that Russia took over The Crimea Region ?! Of course - if people need help - I'm sure there will be a massive outcry & all of the nations of the World, will get together, to help those who need it !!
But, it's funny - because, apart from the Russia Today news station, no one else is reading it this way !! There doesn't seem to be a massive need, for aid, or help... or anything, really, being asked for, from the Ukrainian people - infact, it's just the opposite !!
If Mr Puck-tin puts his fat, overpaid, generals, into the East of Ukraine..... I just hope, this time, the West will not sit idly by & let him get away with it ?! I know, nobody wants to go to war - but, for crying out loud, Puck-tin can not be allowed to do this, for a second time !! Stand firm, stand tall World.... stop Puck-tin & stop him
quickly !!
Right... I must away, I have to do a few things..... nothing fancy, just a bit of a tidy up really. It won't take me very long - but, it needs to be done, unfortunately !!
As always - I thank you for logging in & taking the time to read my words.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Warren Haynes 'Moody Theater'... Ho-hum..
Greetings World's !!
I've been laid up, for most of the last 5 days.... sooooo - I'm very sorry for not posting anything earlier than today, I hope you will all forgive me ?! I've either felt really poorly, or I've been rushing around.... nevermind.
The last time I pen finger to keyboard, it was March 31st - the 4th anniversary of my starting this blog of mine. When I started, I had no idea if anybody would read these words - so, when I logged in, this morning, I found a French reader had taken the time to read some posts - well, it was a kind of a "buzz" to know that !! I thank you all for your time.....
Ok - it's about 11.45 in the morning & I'm home alone..... and will be, for the biggest part of the day. To explain..
Today is my Father-in-Law's 80th birthday & everybody (except J) is heading off, up the road to some kind of afternoon "tea party" that he is putting on. B left a few minutes ago - with ME leaving an hour or so before that. I believe she is dragging her boyfriend (M) along for the ride !! Poor boy - he has met B's Dad at least once - but, nothing will have prepared him for a whole afternoon of his company !!
I could have gone - but, honestly.... I am not in the "party mood" !! Don't get me wrong - I would of liked to have gone.... but, not feeling like I do, at the moment. I wouldn't of been a great lot of fun.... and I didn't want to drag everybody down to my level !!
So - with our Son, over in Wales, doing his Uni computer course, that - as I said above... just leaves me here, alone with my music & my thoughts !! That sounds a bit "deep"... I didn't mean it to.....
I'm a bit conflicted, at the moment..... another "deep" word - where did that come from ?! But - to explain.........
As always - I have the music playing & the TV on, in the corner..... playing quietly to itself. This time, instead of the BBC News channel, I've got Season 3 of 'A Game Of Thrones' playing away to it's little self. Sooooo - the question is, do I listen to the TV - or, do I listen to the music ?! I'll probably flick between the 2 & have done with it.
I do like 'Game....' - more than I ever thought I would... It did help, being stuck in the bloody hospital, for those months, last year & the guys giving me the 1st book to read.... all 800 pages of it !! Followed, of course, with the 2nd book & it's 900 pages !! So - now, I'm on book 4...... the 3rd book, well - that's upstairs, under the bed & I've no real idea how many pages were in that.... nevermind, I'm enjoying reading it, so.... it stood to reason, that I would enjoy the TV show as well !!
I was talking to B - a while back, about the TV shows.... I think, concerning the shows, and that they might stop making them..... before they finish the whole set of books !! I know - they are horrendously expensive, to make..... but !! It would be like showing half of the story.... and, I'm guessing, not all of those, who watch the TV shows, will read the books, so, it would be a bit of a bummer !!
Oh well......
I mentioned, about how it's not been too special of a week, for me. I didn't spend the whole week in bed !! But - I've had some kind of bug & it's taken the "get up & go" out of me. However, on Wednesday, we did go down to Exeter....
By "we" - I mean the 2 ladies of the house (B & ME) and my good self. I wanted to try the journey out - including the shopping part - to see if I could actually handle it all. I really want to head down that way again, soon, for the next record fair. I have missed so many of them, over the last 12 months or so, thru' being poorly.... so, I really wanted to know, if I went down to a fair, if my body would be up to it all.
All in all, I think I passed my little test. I was well & truly knackered, by the time we got home..... but, it was a bit of fun, so.... But, how my Daughter (ME) manages to run around the shops. like she does, is beyond me !! She works all the hours, under the Sun - and then, on her day off, she goes shopping !! I couldn't keep up with her - she's like a "bunny" loaded up with 'Energizer' batteries !! Honestly.... I gave up & just sat, outside of the shops & waited for the ladies to come out to meet me !!
I did have one bit of a "bummer" moment.... I wanted to go in the HMV store. I got in Ok - but, being as I am in a wheelchair, I had to use the lift, to get upstairs, to the music section of the shop. So - 1st off, I had to open the lift door, against my chair & then, once I was in the lift - well, in simple terms - it didn't work, at all !! So, HMV lost out & I saved ourselves a bundle of money.... which, I'm sure, I would of spent on Cd's !! Oh well - chalk one up for HMV.... they really know how to spoil a guy's shopping trip !!
Staying with music....
As I've typed, I've been listening to the soundtrack of 'Live At The Moody Theater' by Warren Haynes & his band. I say "soundtrack" - as it's taken from the DVD version of the show. I've got the 2 Cd set - but, the DVD has extra tracks on it, so I transferred it, over to Cd, for my own use. I wouldn't play the DVD very much - but, I will listen to the s/t over & over. It's really good.... the tracks are:
1) Intro
2) Man In Motion
3) River's Gonna Rise
4) Sick Of My Shadow
5) A Friend To You
6) On A Real Lovely Night
7) Power & The Glory
8) Invisible
9) Take A Bullet
10) Hattiesburg Hustle
11) Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday
12) Frozen Fear
13) Dreaming The Same Dream
14) Pretzel Logic
15) Fire In The Kitchen
16) A Change Is Gonna Come
17) Spanish Castle Magic
18) WHB Intro -
19) Tear Me Down
20) Your Wildest Dreams
21) Soulshine
Ok - I know there are only a couple of extra tracks, on the DVD, compared to the Cd's.... but, it's something for me to listen to & - eventually - put on the Mini Egg. Buy the DVD of the concert - Mr Haynes is up there, with some of the all time greatest guitar players.... give him a listen !!
Back to the past 5 days. This whole week hasn't been a complete let down, health wise !! Yesterday, I had a surprise visit from one of the "District Nurses" !!
When I came out of the hospital, last August, they took it, in turns, to come to the house & change my dressings. At that time, I had a strange thing, called a "Vac Pump" - or something, which was helping the wound to heal.
Anyhoo - as a follow up, to seeing the Consultant, in Exeter.... about 6 weeks back.... the nurse came around, to have a look at the wound & to report back, to her TVN. Really, I guess, to see what the next move might be - and if I needed to go back, on another Vac Pump, as the Consultant wanted. He thought it would help again, so..... who am I to argue ?!
Anyhoo - the nurse came & reported back... and in their opinion, I don't need to go onto another pump !! That means, as far as I can see it, I might be heading back to Exeter, for another skin graft. As long term readers will know, the last graft didn't work - so..... here's hoping the 2nd one, if it happens, will !!
To be honest... I'm fed up with the whole thing !! I just want the wound to heal & have done with it all - it's taking it's toll on me & I'm really fed up with it..... there are only so many times I can smile to people & say "I'm fine" - when, in fact, I just want it all to be over.... oh well, we can't have everything we want, can we ?!
Right, my plans for the rest of the day.... I've not got any, really & truly - I'm just going to kick back & listen to the music !! That's a great plan, as far as I'm concerned, at least !!
I did buy some cheap Cd cases, in town, so I might get around to putting some discs away. I've done most of them, over the last week.... but, as I ran out of cases.... well, I still have some to label up. That won't take too long, but it needs to be done.
So, I will be on my ways....
As always, I thank you for taking the time, to log in & read my words....... either by intention, or by accident, I thank you all !! I must away.... until next time....
