The Hooters & Mr Puck-tin... Ho-hum !!

Hi again from the "wilds of England" !!

It's a very warm & bright Wednesday, here in our little part of the Universe..... I thought it was due to rain today - but, so far...
nothing !! Oh well...

It's actually mid-afternoon here & as I type, B is using the hoover thingy, to collect up today's heap of cat fur !! Honestly - considering how much they loose, it's a wonder the 4 of them are not completely bald !! I'm not sure which of the moggies are in.... but, I know the youngest "Archie" was here, filling his face !!

Nevermind.... as long as they're happy, what the heck !!

As I say - B is here, with me.... ME is out house hunting, with a friend & J, well, to the best of my knowledge is still over in Wales, doing his Uni thingy !! That just leaves me......

I've had a busy day - by my standards - with a trip into town + a visit to our local Dr's surgery... to explain !!

I'm very fortunate, in as much as I have a great "circle" of Consultants.... who, in their various ways, look out for my well being. I don't always appreciate everything they do for me, but..... !!

Anyhoo - today, I visited with one of my favourite Dr's & we had a lovely hour together !! I hope - from my meeting, this morning, she will put me back in the hands of another lady, who I saw for a number of months, in 2012/2013 !! It might seem a long winded way of seeing a person - but, I have to go "thru' channels" and so on .... The nice thing is, after this morning's visit - the Consultant has told me, to 'phone her direct, if I need to..... rather than going the long ways around !! That's really great...

As I wrote, in an earlier post.... I'm awaiting the placement of another "Vac pump" thingy. I've been a little messed around, with this person & that... so much so, that today, the local nurse has been 'phoning around, on my behave - trying to find out what is going on !!

As I type - there is a small chance, that the pump will be fitted tomorrow !! I'm not holding my breath - but, it would be great, to get the thing on & working !! The lady in charge, of fitting the thing, was in the village (this morning) but, as yet she doesn't actually have a pump, to give me !! "Bummer" !!

So - is she gets her hands, on one, she might call me up, later & we can go from there. I don't really care, anymore..... I keep getting different dates & times..... so, I'll just sit back & wait for the powers that be, to sort it all out !! At some point - who knows when - it will all come together & life will go on... and on !! Hopefully, by the time I head back, to Exeter... at the end of the month, it will be all done & dusted. Time will tell, I guess !!

On that front - going down to Exeter.. B found another appointment, for me. She was checking some things out & found it stuck inside an old envelope. The upshot is - I have to go down to the hospital, 3 times, all within a couple of weeks of each other !!

When you consider, it's a 100 mile round trip - that's not sooooo
good !! I 'phoned the hospital, in the hope of doing 2 of the 3 things, on the same day.... but, nope - it ain't as easy as that !! It seems that the plastic surgeons have clinics on one day - while the other place..... well, they're not open on that day !! So - we have to go down an extra day - which is not too good, but - it's out of my hands really !!

That's for later.... back to today, tho'..... I went in & had my dressings changed (again)..... so, you may have heard the screaming !! Actually - it's not that bad really !! Gone are the days of 90 minutes of pure pain !! The days of all but passing out, as the nurses did their best, to sort the wound out. At least, looking back at it all, I can, kind of, smile about it - how things used to hurt & everything. Nevermind - if I can get this next plastic surgery out of the way, things might be on the up & up !!

Oh well..... onto the music of the moment..

As I type, I'm playing the Allman Brothers 'The Fillmore Concerts'. It's dated 1992 - I didn't realise I had had it that long !! It's a great 2 Cd set....the tracks are:

CD 1

1) Statesboro' Blues
2) Trouble No More
3) Don't Keep Me Wondering
4) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
5) One Way Out
6) Done Somebody Wrong
7) Stormy Monday
8) You Don't Love Me

CD 2

1) Hot 'Lanta
2) Whipping Post
3) Mountain Jam
4) Drunken Hearted Boy

I dug it off the shelves, mainly as we had a surprise visitor, a couple of nights ago. One of the Missionaries popped in, with his girlfriend. He has finished his Mission & always promised he would come back & see us. As he lives in Germany, we really didn't expect to see him, so soon..... but, it was fantastic that he came around to see us !!

While he was here, on his Mission, I gave him a copy of 'Eat A Peach' - on the express instruction, to play it, after his Mission. Anyhoo - he loved it, especially 'Mountain Jam' - so, as a kind of memory of his visit, I dug this off the shelf !! It's really a great collection.....

Earlier - mainly as I hadn't heard it, in a while - I played The Who's live album 'Who's Last'. I used to have the 2 Lp set - but, with the Cd's coming out, it landed up on one disc. The tracks are:

  1) My Generation
  2) I Can't Explain
  3) Substitute
  4) Behind Blue Eyes
  5) Baba O'Riley
  6) Boris The Spider
  7) Who Are You
  8) Pinball Wizard
  9) See Me, Feel Me
10) Love, Reign O'er Me
11) Long Live Rock
12) Live Rock - Reprise
13) Won't Get Fooled Again
14) Dr Jimmy
15) Magic Bus
16) Summertime Blues
17) Twist & Shout

I was thinking, as I type the above - I can't honestly remember if I ever saw The Who in concert ?! How dumb is that - I know I have a few live albums & most of their studio stuff - but, if I ever saw them, in the flesh... I don't remember !!

Oh well - it's a good little album... showing off Kenny Jones on drums. I did like the studio albums, that he did with the band. Oh well..... staying with music...

I was also playing The Hooters' 'Both Sides Live' Cd...... the tracks are:

  1) I'm Alive
  2) Time Stand Still
  3) South Ferry Road
  4) All You Zombies
  5) The Boys Of Summer
  6) Johnny B
  7) Where The Wind May Blow
  8) Karla With A K
  9) 25 Hours A day
10) Satellite
11) And We Danced
12) Day By day
13) free Again

Ok - I know I've written a lot of tracks down, today - but... it's been a good day, for me & music... so, I wanted to share !!

The Hooters album - well, it's part of 4 Cd box set... 'The Hooters - 30th Anniversary Collection'. I bought it a while back & - if you have a chance, to hear it, go & have a bit of fun... it's a really fun collection of stuff !! That's enough of music for now...

On to sadder news.... our prayers go out, to all of those families involved in the ferry disaster, which happen earlier today. I've only seen bits of it - but..... !!

Plus - again, I ask all of you, to contact your local Russian embassies & voice your concerns, if you have any, about how Mr Puck-tin is fu**ing around in the Eastern part of Ukraine !! It really stinks, that a country can do whatever it feels like, to take control of it's neighbour !!

Also - if you want to see democracy in action, watch 'Russia Today - International'... I think that's what it's called. honestly, it's sooooo off the wall, as far as it's reporting, it's unbelievable !! Go on, give yourself a laugh & tune in, you will not be disappointed !!

Ok - my plans for today... well, I'm going to kick back & just relax a bit. The nurse did a great job, in fixing my dressing - but, I'm paying the price now. nevermind - I've still got a good ways to go, reading book 4 - or whatever it is - of 'The Game Of Thrones'... so.... I will get on with that !!

As always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words.... until next time....

Bye Bye
