Greetings World's !!
How is your bit of the Universe treating you this fine day ?! It's a warm Wednesday, here in ol' England...... the rain keeps blowing thru' - but, all in all, it's a great day !!
As I type, I'm the only one at home. The ladies of the house have gone into town. ME is having her hair cut & B has gone along for the ride & to keep her company. With our Son - J - still over in wales.... well, that just leaves me & Archie to "keep the home fires burning" !!
Actually - I didn't know Archie was in.... I went upstairs, to get a book & he was spread out, on our bed.... I said a quick "hello" to him.... to which he was happy to purr along to, for a while at least. Once he realised I wasn't going to smooth him, he just rolled over & went back to sleep !!
I didn't bother to post anything, yesterday.... I didn't really have the time & I wasn't feeling too great, sooooo I gave it a miss. I trust I can be forgiven ?
Thinking about it - I might have posted yesterday... I can't honestly remember !! If I had a couple more brain cells, not only would I be a happy man, I might have a better chance of remembering things !! Nevermind - life goes on.
As I've mentioned before - I've been playing some Led Zeppelin shows, bootlegs, over the last few days. As always, I do not recommend you buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff !!
Talking of which.... I had an 'Official Bootleg' by Deep Purple, come in the post today - I'm listening to it, as I type. The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Highway Star
2) Black Night
3) Talk About Love
4) A twist In The Tale
5) Perfect Strangers
6) Beethoven's 9th
7) Keyboard Solo
8) Knocking On Your Back Door
9) Anyone's Daughter
CD 2
1) Child In Time
2) Lazy/Drum Solo
3) Space Trucking
4) Woman From Tokyo
5) Paint It Black
6) Hush
7) Smoke On The Water
I don't normally buy 2nd hand Cd's - but, this one was only £5.99..... so, I took a chance it wasn't too messed up & gave it a go !! So far, so good........ after playing so much Zep, over the last few days - it's making a nice change !!
The last Zeppelin concert, that I fished playing, before this, was from 1980 & their last ever concert with John Bonham. It was recorded on July 7th - in Berlin - & the tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Train Kept A Rolling
2) Nobody's Fault But Mine
3) Black Dog
4) In The Evening
5) The Rain Song
6) Hot Dog
7) All My Love
8) Trampled Underfoot
9) Since I've Been Loving You
CD 2
1) White Summer
2) Black Mountainside
3) Kashmir
4) Stairway To Heaven
5) Rock & Roll
6) Whole Lotta Love
I'm not a great lover of the 1980's concerts....after the bomb blasting 1977 tour of America.... the European concerts, 2 years later seem a little too short - for me, at least !!
This one tho' - has 2 great things going for it. (A) it was recorded on my birthday & (B) it has - for me, one of the best recordings of 'Stairway To Heaven' going !!
I can't get my head around the fact, that after all these years - I can sit here & listen to concerts & still really enjoy what I'm hearing !! At the time, I only had a few bootlegs, by Zeppelin..... so, to be able to play all of these concerts, now... for me is brilliant !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs - by the official stuff !!
Ok.... this is going to be a short post. So - my plans for today...
Well..... I was thinking about moaning to Mr Puck-tin again.... telling him, to leave Ukrainians to sort themselves out !! If America went in - to "help out" - Russia would have a crap, about the whole thing.... so - keep to your own borders, Mr Puck-tin !!
Apart from all of that.... I'm going to sit back & read for an hour or so. My lovely back is hurting too much, to do much else !! Nevermind.... on Monday, hopefully, it will all be fixed & put behind me..... ho-hum...
I must away.... I thank you for taking the time, to log in & read my words..... this Deep Purple album is pretty good... until next time..
Bye Bye
