Landover 30-5-77 & a long afternoon...

Hi again.....

How are your Worlds treating you today ?! Here - well, life is going along quietly.... except for the music & the sound of falling trees, in the background.

As I type... B & J are out, at the front of the house, cutting down some "trees" that are getting a bit silly, over the walkway area. By trees - I of course mean overgrown bushes. But - the guys have said "we're going out to cut the trees down" - so... I'm not going to argue with them !! It is quite funny - and I shouldn't laugh - but, really J has very little idea, when it comes to using a saw !! Bless him.... give him a computer & away he goes... but, give him a saw & .... well, let the laughter commence !!

Anyways - that's B & J... ME is working today - which I'm pretty certain I mentioned yesterday.... but, she will be home tonight. I think she is working tomorrow night & then has a few days to rest up. Oh well - bless her, she is really getting stuck in, as far as her job goes !!

So - that just leaves me.... and I'm here typing these few words to you & listening to the second of the two Zeppelin concerts, which reached me a week or more ago. I'm only up to track 4, disc 1... so, I'll give a track listing in a short while.

I'm also - kind of "multi-tasking"....... as I type & listen, I'm putting some more stuff onto the computer, ready to transfer over to the Mini Egg.

As for what the Mini Egg actually is.... well, for the lovely lady from Italy, who asked what I was writing about.... It's an 'iPod Classic' (I think) which the guys gave me, for my - hopefully - upcoming stay in hospital.

I called it "The Mini Egg"... mainly (a) as I need some kind of name, for the computer & (b) ME - my Daughter was on fine form & decided it was a great name for the thing. At the time - she was actually eating a chocolate mini egg..... so, the name stuck !! So - that's the Mini Egg.

At the moment, I think I've put about 11,000 tracks on the thing... but, I'm only part ways thru' filling it up - so, there is plenty of other things I can put on it !! Onwards.... but, I thank you for getting in contact !!

This morning - I was really tardy..... having stayed in bed to about 11am !! But - in my defence - I stayed up really late (for me) last night.... so, I was really kind of, knackered !!

ME - when she works a normal day shift, gets home about 9pm or there about. But - last night, she worked a little later & didn't get home until after 10. Most times, B stays up & waits for her - so she doesn't come home to an "empty" house, when we are all asleep, in bed. Last night, however, B was really tired out & went to bed early - hence, I stayed up late... to keep a welcome on hand, for ME, when she came home.

I think she appreciates the fact that all the lights are on & someone is here to say "Hello" to her, when she gets thru' the door.... so, to that end.. it's worth it !!

Anyhoo - that's why I was late getting out of bed......  When I did eventually surface... B & I went into town & did a bit of a grocery shop. We only needed a few things - but, it was a nice trip out & about.... even tho' I really hate crowds - or at least being in a shop, that's full of people !! Today - well, it wasn't so bad.... it didn't freak me out, at least...... so, from that point of view, it wasn't so bad !!

I'm just loading Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road'...... it's been years since I played this album !! Someplace, here on the shelves, I have a two hour tape, of one of his BBC concerts. I have no idea where it is - but, if I come across it, I'll give that a listen.

Back to the Zeppelin concert.... it's from Landover, in Maryland USA & was recorded on their 4th & last night at the place, in 1977. It's being sold as a soundboard recording.... but, I've just got as far as 'No Quarter' and it's gone back to a audience tape !! As always - don't buy bootlegs !! Buy the official stuff instead....... I do the track listing in a while.

As it's a weekend... I would like to think we would be going to Church tomorrow. B has mentioned it - over the last week - but.... I'm not sure where we are suppose to go now !! As mentioned before... the guy who visits us, came over (just before Christmas) that we are no longer in our old Taunton area.... so, whether we are now meant to go to some other place, or go to Taunton... well, I have no real
idea !!

I've just been outside.... it's at times like this - when I really want to go outside & try & do the things, that I was able to do - only a few years ago - now, with my health almost fading away from me... well, it kind of hurts !!  Not physically - but, mentally as as well !!

I was able, just a couple of years ago, to go outside & do the things I really wanted to do... now - well, I'm just not fit enough to do things & I really do feel that.... I know I can't turn the clock back - but, I sometimes wonder if this is it.... is it worth all the crap that goes with it !!  Never mind.......

As I've said many times before..... If you're falling a long way - you may as well try & fly. It's at times like today... well, I'm getting really fed up - trying my best to fly... when it's just not as easy as it once was !! Maybe I should just give up..... I certainly feel like it at the moment !!

As mentioned before... it was recorded on May 30th 1977 & was the last night of 4 in Landover. It's the standard 1977 set list... no major changes to get too brilliant about it..... It's mostly recorded form the soundboard - but, there are some bit's of audience tape in amongst it, to fill up the spaces I guess.

For me - it's one for the collection... but, not exactly Earth shattering !! As always - don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff instead !! I'm sure I will have more to boots, to write about in the future, but... that's it for today, at least !!

The tree  guys have just come indoors - so, for now.I best be on my ways... it is getting late now, I didn't realise how far the afternoon had gone along !! Oh well.... it's been a long afternoon !!
