Greetings Worlds...... another Tuesday !!

Greetings Worlds - How have you been spinning today ?!

Well, here I am once more..... sat here on my own, the music turned down to deafening & the TV on mute in the corner - there was a cat here just now, but I think it's gone upstairs to bed !!  Ho-hum.......

It's another Tuesday night here in England & it's blooming cold outside !!  They forecast for it to remain cold over the next few days... so with a bit of luck, it will stay dry & bright - I don't go much on it being cold & wet !!  We'll see what happens I guess......

I've been here all day today.... B did go into town earlier, but only to the gym, sooooo I stayed here in the warm.  She has gone out to weight watchers tonight, so all being well, she will be home in an hour or two.  J & ME are upstairs as I type......... they were here with me, but after their favourite TV show (of the moment)

'Pointless' finished, I put the music on & they went up to their rooms.  J is no doubt on his computer & ME is either watching TV or doing some Uni course work.  It's kind of hard for her to concentrate with my music blasting out !!

The music of the moment is Emerson, Lake & Palmer's 'Royal Albert Hall' show from 1992.......  I recorded it from the radio broadcast, at the time & transferred it to Cd a year or two back.  I also have the official release here abouts someplace...... not really sure where tho' !!

For most of the day, I was recording some more of our friends Lp's over to Cd, for them.  It's been a bit hard work really !!  the Lp's I'm doing are from a 1960 box set & are really in a bad condition !!  I've had to clean them up & listen to all the crackles that go with a 50 year old recording !!  I've enjoyed the music tho' - a great deal of it is - well, "popular classics" would be the right name for it..... lots of stuff by different people & orchestras, all a bit of fun, tho'....... as I say, kind of hard work - especially on the ears !!  I know Cd's can be scratched, but I don't miss the clicks & pops of old vinyl !!

As it's been cold, I'll probably stay in the house (again) tomorrow...... I'm not sure if we need anything in town - but, I need to avoid getting a chill at the moment !!  I'm still not 100%, so I want to avoid adding to the problems !!  I have to go in on Friday - to see a Consultant - so, if I need anything, I can sort it out then !!

I had a phone call, today, from my friend in Bristol.  He just phoned to have a little chat & ask how things were going.  That's a true friend - one who calls, just to see how you are !!  It was great of him to call & lifted my spirits up no end !!

He did wonder how we kept going - with my health getting worse - and he was well happy that we're supported by the Church & our faith in The Lord.... he didn't take us for being Mormons - as I've said before, we're not your everyday Latter-Day Saints.  We are what we are & that's a fact...... nothing will change that !!

Just back onto music - I had a look for some Led Zeppelin, from January 31st & found concerts from 1969 & 1975.  As the '75 show is one of my favourites, I've settled for that one - so, on this day in 1975, the band were in Detroit:

I really like this show - tho' I think I've got the tracks mixed up a bit !!  With-out playing the Cd's, I'm not going to be able to check - but, never mind !!  It's a good show tho'...... The 1969 concert is on one Cd - also as part of a two Cd set.... but, I settled for this show !!

I've had this Cd (set) for a goodly number of years now - I got it way back when !!  In the days when their were still Led Zeppelin concerts to collect !!  As my friend in Bristol said today - everything is just being re-packaged & produced !!  There are only sooooo many show out there & - sometimes - something 'new' comes to the front - but, not very often !!  As always - don't buy bootlegs !!

I hope soon to have the Allman Brothers Cd's from 'Hittin' The Note'.... I had a lovely e-mail from Lady V & I know I've not been forgotten..... just waiting on stock at the moment !!  I'll just have to work my way thru' the Beacon box set again !!  B will not be pleased !!

ME did give me a great set of 'Sennheiser' headphones for Christmas & I ought to use them a bit more.... but, I enjoy listening to stuff thru' the speakers..... so...... !!  I guess I could lose myself in the 'phones, but.. !!

I just had a nice surprise..... I went upstairs, to speak to ME & found both of them in J's room together.  He is helping her with some pictures that she can't get off a disc or something.....  it's great to know that they don't kill each other every night !!

I only went up to tell her the protesters have been moved from College Green in Bristol, where she goes to Uni..... they have been there 3 months & the council moved in this morning to clear them out - well, the few tents & stuff that was there.  Everybody should have the right to protest - but..... they have left a heck of a mess there !!  I'm not against the protesters - I'm not for them either.... I'm just a person in the middle.  each to their own !!

Right, that's about it for tonight - I think !!  I could go on & on about how good this ELP concert (the one I'm listening to) is...... but...... So for now I will away - I've no plans for tomorrow - just to stay in the warm, so I might be back 24 hours from now... give or take a minute or two !!  Until next time.....

Monday, Monday - Yet Another Monday !!

Hello Everybody - How are you all doing this fine Monday lunch time ?

Yep - it's Monday, a little after 12 noon & it's really nice & warm here in the house !!  Outside - well, we've had our first proper snow of the Winter........ by which I mean, we have had about an inch of the stuff & it's not staying at all !!

Last night, we had a severe weather warning for our area....... unless something majors happen in the next few hours - well, once again, the weather man got it wrong !!  Am I surprised ?  No - it's normal for us !!  They say one thing & the Lord sends us something totally different !!  Nevermind.... my life goes on !!

Right - as I type, B is out, in town, ME is upstairs & J is behind me getting some lunch.  I was going to go with B - but, as it's not too nice outside & I'm not 100% - well, we decided I would be better off staying at home.  She'll be home sometime after 2pm (I guess) - mainly after she has done the shopping & stuff, she'll kill a bit of time in the gym..... she was going to make a separate trip, going in later... but, to save fuel & what have you, she's going to do it all this 'morning'.

As mentioned - I'm not 100%.  I started to feel low on Friday night & that was about it, for the rest of the weekend !!  I rested up on Saturday & really was completely out of it Sunday !!  So, for another week, we were not at Church !!  Tho' we had a lovely e-mail from the Bishop - telling me not to worry & he knows why we're not there... well, I would of loved to have been able to go.  As it was, B had to give me a sleeping tablet, mainly as I was up my limit on pain medication & I slept like a baby for more hours than I really should have !!  I didn't wake up until after lunch - honestly, I slept & slept !!

I had to get up early this morning tho' - it was time for a check up with my local GP.  We explained how things have been & he assures me, things will get better - I just have to hang in there a while !!  Well, it's been over 10 years now - so, I guess I've hung in there this long - I can try & flap my arms a little longer !!  He has left my pills & potions alone, for now - but, on Friday, I'm seeing another Consultant.... so, maybe she will change things around.  Time will tell.........

I also had my hair cut this morning !!  Now there is some "big news" - but.... with the new hairdresser in the village (they have been open 6 months now) - it's easier for me to get there with B's help of course !!  Anyhoooooo, I've had another hair cut........ I've had more hair cuts in the last 6 months, then I probably had in the previous 2 years !!  If nothing else - it's tidy.... that's about all really !!  I used to have really long hair - the pony tail, the lot !!  Oh well - at least I still have my hair........ onwards !!

I was reading a blog this morning - it's 10 years since the Oklahoma ice storm hit !!  I really do remember that, seeing it on the news & everything.  To read a blog, by someone who was in the middle of it - well, it sounds like it was really bad !!  I've seen trees hanging with ice - like it has been spayed on, but not as bad as they were back then.  We're lucky with our weather here - we do get some snow, but - as we're soooo close to the sea, it rarely hits too hard.... well, I don't think so, at least !!

The snow is still falling, outside - but... it has a long way to go, to even start pitching on the roads & what have you !!

The music of the moment is (again) the wonderful Allman Brothers.  I'm listening to the DVD, that came out in 2003 (I think) from their Beacon shows in New York, that year.  I can't be bothered to watch the pictures, so I'm just playing it & watching the news on the BBC........ good old Aunt Beeb !!  It's good music - it must be - one of the cats is on his back, paws up in the air, completely "zonked" !!  See, even the pets enjoy my musical taste !!

I wasn't thinking too hard about posting today - so, I had a quick glance at the Zeppelin concerts & I found one !!  From January 30th 1973.  The band were on a British tour & today (January 30th) they did a show in Preston, Lancashire.  I have a 2Cd set:

I was just thinking about getting myself something to "eat" - by that, I mean one of my "yummy" drink things I have to live with......... so, I am now looking at a wonderful summer fruits flavoured drink & thinking maybe I should skip it - but, I need something to keep me going & I don't fancy anything else !!  So............. !!

Ok - my plans for today !!  I have to change the washing in the machine (put in a new load) & that's about it really...... I'm going to have to head back to bed, for a while or else I'm going to fall asleep where I sit & that would be bad !!  It's a comfy computer chair thingy - but, not too good to sleep on !!  Maybe I should do the whole cat thing ?  Lay on my back, put my hands & feet into the air.... I somehow don't think that would be too good either !!

If You Didn't Laugh.........

Hello Worlds Of Internet Space.... how are you all doing this fine day ?

It looks really good outside, blue skies & a really nice view out to the sea..... it's a little cold, but !! I'm not going too far at all today - just back to my bed, when I've finished this.....

To explain.  Last night was a right disaster here in the household !!  B & ME went to a gym class - they go together from time to time - but, this time, ME put her knee 'out' - which she, again, does from time to time.  So when they got home, poor little ME could hardly walk on that leg !!  Bummer !!

The upshot of all of that is, that - this morning - she couldn't drive her car !!  So, B has driven her up to Bristol so that she can go to her Friday Uni classes ....... I've just phoned B - she is sat in ME's car, doing some cross stitching, to pass the time - a little lonely, but safe all the same !!  I'm not sure what time they will be heading back this way - but, I'm guessing it will several hours yet !!

So - that was ME....... the other person to have a bad night, was..... drum roll..... yours truly !!  For some stupid reason, I couldn't get to sleep - the pain was really dumb !!  No matter what I took to ease it, nothing seem to work !!  In the end - about 2 am - I was sooooo tired, I just fell asleep.... pain or no pain !!  So, that was our disaster night in the homestead !!  You have to laugh or else we would cry !!

ME's plans - well, apart from getting home - I'm not sure what she plans on doing... but, B will drive her home & she'll have to decide from there what she does.  My plans - well, I need a drink of water, so.. I'll watch a bit of TV & (as I feel like junk) I'll head back to bed !!  I really do need my beauty sleep today !!

Oh well - I'm guessing that's about it for today !!  J has just gone down the village for me... yep, he has got out of bed !!  I needed some stuff returned to the library & as it's unlikely B will be home early enough to do it, J has gone "walkabout" to help me out !!

Another Wet Night In England !!

Well Hello Again Worlds - How are your computers treating you this evening ?!

It's a Thursday here in England - yep, just checked & it's a Thursday !!  B & ME have just gone out to a gym class & it's really wet outside again !!  So - as I like the warmth, I'm staying here in the house tonight - mind you, I do that most evenings, sooooooo, nothing too different there folks !!

As I type, J is behind me doing the supper dishes.... so, with the ladies out, that just leaves me here - no cats, just me & the keyboard !!  I think the ladies will be home in a couple of hours - so.... it will quiet tonight.....

By quiet, I of course do not include the music !!  At the moment it's Dio's 'Donington' show from 1987 - I picked it up last year (I think ?) & it's blasting away quite nicely, thank you !!  I've said this before - but, I saw the band 3 times in total.... from their very show in 1983 onwards.  They were a bit special & that's for sure !!

Earlier today, B & I headed into town for a few minutes or so...... it took us longer to get there & back, as we only stayed a very short while.  We had to pay some bills & pick up some food - so, it really was a quick trip !!

I wasn't thinking about going - but, as it was (at the time) nice & dry, I went along for the ride....... plus to look at some Cd's in ASDA !!  There is very little I want from there - mainly as they only sell chart stuff & the (very) occasional 'Best Of' sets...... but, I always have a look, just in case I see something 'new'.  I did see another UFO set - but, I didn't buy it, as I'm pretty sure I've got most of the tracks anyways !!  Oh well.......

 Just staying a bit with music - the Led Zeppelin "Cd of the day" as one of my readers calls it, is from 1969.  On January 26th that year, the band played a famous 4+hour show in Boston.... luckily, about 90 minutes or so has come out on bootleg, the tracks I have are:

It's a really great show & maybe, one day, the whole thing will get 'released' as it were - there is a rumour that the complete tape exists...... but, I've never seen or heard it.  Maybe one day..... as always, don't buy bootlegs !!  More another day......  Mind you, just because I've never heard it - well... there are lots of tapes out there, so... I'm bound to have missed a few over the years !!

I've just changed the music - I'm now listening to one of the tapes I (think) mentioned yesterday.  As I type, it's the wonderful Roy Harper filling the room.......  This guy's lyrics are brilliant, they really are !!  Onwards...

I had a lovely - well 2 - e-mails from Lady V today........ we have never met, but B & I enjoy hearing from her.  It's amazing to read about another set of New York shows coming soon, by the Allmans.  I'm still getting used to playing the 2011 set !!  Oh well - maybe B will let me have the 2012 shows as well !!  I doubt that very much, but it would be nice to think about them.... Hee-hee........

Onto other things - I did think I had to see my GP tomorrow, for my weekly check up.... but, it seems I'm going to see him on Monday of next week instead.  It won't make much difference, one way or another..... I go in, we talk about how I'm doing, have a laugh about it all & then I come home !!  It's all a bit of a waste of our time really - but, he has to check up on me.... so - that's the way it has to be !!

It does mean tho' - I get a bit of time to stay in bed, in the morning... "Yippee" !!  I'm usually awake early - but, it's nice not to have to rush around too much.... well, not for 10 minutes or so in a Dr's office !!  I don't mind really - but, if I have a bad night... I don't feel like rushing around that much, if you follow my meaning ?!  Maybe he'll have some more news on my next hospital visit - tho' I usually hear about it before he does........ oh well........

Right - one thing I must do, tomorrow, is have tidy around !!  My desk, here in front of me, has stacks of junk on it - mostly Cd's, but also scraps of paper, books & - for some reason - a wooden box !!  It's only about 6 inches square, but.... why it's on the table, I have no real idea !!  It seems to be full of paper & stereo wires & plugs - so, there has to be a reason for it - but, I'm at a loss what that reason is !!  I'll ask B about it, maybe she can fill in the blanks on the subject... we'll see !!

I've just let one of the cats out.... he was fine, wanting to go.... that was until the door was open & he saw the rain pouring down !!  Bless him, I guess the call of nature was stronger than his wish to stay in the warm !!

All of our (3) cats are really good - they go to the door, when they need to go outside & we very rarely have any problems with them, how shall I put it - having 'accidents' in the house.  But, when it's raining - well, like me - they want to stay in the warm & who can blame them !!

I've just had B's Dad on the phone - he's had a visit to the hospital for a check up.  He seems Ok & has asked me to get B to call him, when she gets home later.  He has been given a couple of poetry books, by a local guy - well, local to where he lives - and one of the poems is about him & my late Mother-in law, B's Mum.  I'm not sure how keen B will be to phone him tonight, but - I'll pass the message on & I'll leave to her to sort out !!

Right - I better away for this evening.......it's not toooooo late, but..... I need my beauty sleep !!  So with a happy heart & the Who blasting out of the speakers, I will be on my way - until next time....

Hello & Greetings Worlds - How are you all doing tonight !?!

Well, as usual, I checked the stats - before I started writing - and I'm surprised to see soooooo many of you have logged on today !!  Unless of course, you're one same person & you're flying all around the World - just to confuse me ?!  Thank you, one & all - for taking the time to read my words.....

It's a Wednesday  night here in England.... B has just gone out a gym class & it's pouring down out there !!  I waved her off, from the front door & it's really wet & horrid - I'm just going to stay here in the house & listen to the music.... nothing different there then !!  Welcome to my life folks !!

Actually, B helped me, earlier, to find the 'music of the moment'.  I have a box thing, with the best part of a 1000 tapes in it & I was looking for 10 tapes, that I recorded almost 21 years ago.  They were quite easy to find - being as they were all in bright yellow cases.... and the reason for finding them ?  Well, that's simple really !!  When B was in hospital - having had ME - I would come home to the farm (where we were at the time) & record a tape or two to pass the night away !!  These are the tapes I'm playing - as I type, the Who's 'Baba O'Riley is blasting away thru' the house !!  As ME is 21 next month - actually a month today - I wanted to play the tapes again !!

Like all these tapes - there are various things on them.... stuff I was playing at the time & what have you.  A sort of small project of mine, to keep me 'sane' while I was on my own, all those years ago !!  Oh well... it made sense at the time & it was better than going down to the pub !!  Now,  I don't drink at all - so, that's a far better deal all around really !! 

It's mazing how much The Lord can help you, when you're low in spirit. I'm sooooo very grateful that He is our lives, thank you T for bringing his words to the both of us !! Read Proverbs 3:5-6..... my friends, if you need an up-lift at anytime....!!

Oh, the Blues Brothers are playing now.... it's a real mish mash of stuff !!  'Sweet Home Chicago' !!  Great !!

Anyhooooo - I mentioned B... she'll be home about 8.30 or so.  J has just gone upstairs, having put away the supper dishes.... that ME had washed a few minutes earlier.  She has gone upstairs as well - so, I'm here, on my own some - no family, no cats - just loud music..... it's a great way to live, it really is !!

It's been a very quiet day - for me.....  I watched a bit of TV, tried to record some more Lp's (for our friends in Church) but, I couldn't concentrate on that, so... I gave up & sat with B, watching a show (recorded last night) about first year doctors & their very first week on the wards.  To quote what one of them said "We're crap!" I would not disagree with that & now I'm wondering how they will get on next week !?!  I must remember to set the recorder to catch it again !!

As not to spoil things - as my day has been quiet, the night will stay the same way !!  I'm on a roll here, so why spoil it !!  I've to finish this & head to bed a little later on.... such a hectic evening - I better turn the music up to 12, just in case I fall asleep !!  Hee-hee.......

When I first picked up a copy of this - it was in a fancy case & listed as being from Rotterdam 11-3-73.  As the band were not there in March, it just took a bit of listening to - to pick up it was from the Aberdeen concert.... It's a good set tho' - with 'Dancing Days' from the (then) un-released 5th album. Oh well - as always, do not buy bootlegs, if you can get it for free, that's, sort of fine - but, don't pay for it !!  There are some good official Cd's out there that are well worth your money !!  More another night !!

I see my reader from Germany logged in again today.... a big "Hello" to you.  I hope you're well & happy !!

Hopefully the weather will brighten up a bit tomorrow.... we're meant to be going into town at some point.  The usual stuff, pay some bills, by some food & so on & so on !!  If it's too wet, I'll go with B & sit in the car, except for the supermarket shopping.... that's going to be in the dry, so it ain't tooooooo bad.  Going around town tho' - in the rain - is not a lot of fun !!  I do "zoom" about in my old wheelchair - but, getting wet is not a great way to spend the day !!  We'll have to wait & see how things go.... B has a meeting in the morning, in the village, but that won't take very long..... we'll see how it goes.

B is probably going to phone the hospital, for me, in a day or two.....  I'm waiting to go back & see the Consultant again - the one behind the 'faulty' implant..... well, that's not true.  The implant isn't faulty, it's just not working as the wires are in the wrong place !!  As yet, I've not had a date to see him again, so B will chase it up for me.

I'm not looking forward to have a 'corrective' surgery on that !!  Like my GP has said - it means "digging" thru' my back - to remove the 'old' wires & then placing the new ones in the right place...... great stuff !!  He hasn't spared anything - going into detail, about how it'll be harder this time - as everything will of 'healed' in place - great, just what I need.... another surgery & more stitches.  If you've read my pages before - you will know how much I 'love' having stitches !!

Hey, here's a thought - maybe they could give me a new scar & then I could play "join the dots" with a pen !! I guess that would be fun - better than those blooming stitches ahhhhchhhhaccchh !!!!  Oh well - time will tell.

Maybe I could refuse the surgery & let them worry about the fact they spent £10,000 on me & it doesn't work.... after all, it's not my fault !!  I did my bit - went in, let them knock me out etc etc...... why should I worry about it ?!  Well - I would like it to work - I've been very, ("sob-sob") very low about the whole thing !!  Luckily for me, B has looked well after me.... so, for that I'm happy !!

Right - I better think about being on my way, for tonight...... there is a slow Scorpions' track on the tape, as I type, & I think it's sending me to sleep - it's very, very slow !!  "More speed Scotty"..... until next time, thank you all for reading !!

Pointless.... Ho-hum !!

Greetings again Worlds - I'm back again !!

Well, I'm still having a 'quiet' day - tho', for the next 45 minutes the music will be turned off.... mainly as the 'kids' are watching one of their favourite TV quiz shows.  It's called 'Pointless' & it's all a bit of fun - well, we think so....

It's still a cold & wet day here in England.... B has gone out to her weight-watchers meeting, so that leaves me here with the younger members of the household - it's a good life - well, it's what I've got.... so !!  Onwards.....

It's been a good day for music.... I've been playing stuff all afternoon & most of the morning as well, come to think about it !!  The highlights have been Seasick Steve & Velvet Revolver...... B actually brought home the 'Libertad' Cd - by the latter, so I've given that a good play thru' !!  I'm glad the neighbours (well, the nice ones, that is) are deaf........ that sounds bad !!  I mean they are hard of hearing, which kind of helps - especially when the music is up loud !!

Anyhoooo - deaf neighbours or not.... once the TV is switched off, the music will be an Allman Brothers concert from Jones Beach, NY in August 2004 - one of my favourites !!  Especially disc 3, mainly as it only has 3 tracks on it.... 3 great tracks !!  I really love these Allman Brothers shows - you can buy them from their 'Hittin' The Note' web site & they are well worth it !!  That's a "free" plug there for Lady V........ hee-hee !!

My thanks to those of you - from the USA, thru' Germany to India - who have logged in today.... I've not posted anything for 4 days.... so, I thank you for your time.  As I've said before - keep reading, I might write something interesting one day !!

Last night - feeling a little bit under the weather (well poorly) I went to bed early & watched a strange film... well, I thought so, at least.... it's called 'Cowboys & Aliens' & if you want a bit of fun.... it's worth a watch.  I'm not sure if it was meant to serious or not.... but, I thought it was great fun !!  If you have an odd (very odd) two hours to kill - check it out on DVD - there aren't too many 'extras'.... but, it lifted my spirits quite a bit.  I did fall asleep before the end - but, what I saw was good fun.......

Well - the TV has been turned down & the music has been turned way, way up...... so, as I type 'Mountain Jam' is blasting thru' the Bose & I'm a happy puppy !!  If you ever want to upset B - start the vocals (by Donovan) of "..first there is a mountain..." - I can testify, B will shout at you to stop singing !!  Once she has the song/tune in her head - it sticks there, bless her !!

I've not checked out the tracks on the new Allman Brothers Cd's - that B has ordered for me - so, maybe it'll be on those as well !!  I'll let you know just how good there are, when I get them...... hopefully not toooooo far into the future !!  Once they get here, I'll try & order up some more - but, not for a day or two I guess.... only when B feels sorry for me & thinks I could use cheering up a bit !!

My plans for tonight - well..... I'm still fee;ling a little 'low' & I'm guessing I'll be hitting bed early again tonight. I will have to see how things go..... maybe I'll watch the rest of the film - the bit I missed last night, when I nodded off !!  I'm not sure what else to do - just sit back & take it easy for a few hours or so..... until B gets home, at least !!

As for tomorrow - it's going to be a stay at home day..... well, that's my plan at least.  I think B will have a gym class tomorrow night -  but, I'll just stay here for the day.  It'll give me chance to read the rest of 'Skydog'.... which I have yet to complete.  It's been a good read & even tho' I'm an Allman Brothers fan, I've found out a lot of things I didn't know before - which is good.... I guess !!  It's always good to find out something 'new' !!

For those of you, who like my Led Zeppelin collection - I don't have one for today.  That is to say, I have nothing from this date - at all, no mater what year - so, I'm going to miss that for tonight.  Never mind - there will be other dates to list, as we get into the summer tours of America & what have you.  That's for another night tho'.........

For tonight tho' - I best away & sort out a few things... ME's boyfriend is on his way over & there is some live football on the box..... so, I'm guessing he would like to watch that - not toooooo easy with me blasting the music thru' the house !!  So, until next time....

Hi-de-hi !!

"Hi-de-hi !!"  How are your Worlds spinning today ?!

I'm having a quiet - music turned down to deafening - sort of day......  It's wet & cold outside, soooooo I'm staying here in the warm !!  It's really not nice outside - tho', I can see the beach out in the distance, so it can't be that bad !!

Ok - as I type, the music of the moment is the 'solo' Cd that Slash brought out in 2010.  After getting his 2 Cd set 'Made In Stoke' I decided I would like to hear more of his studio stuff & this is the first one..... it will be followed by Velvet Revolver's 'Contraband' Cd....... apart from some Guns & Roses stuff, that's all I have by the man.......  Oh well - so far so good......

As for my family - B is out at a gym class & the two 'kids'... J & ME... are upstairs someplace.  I've seen both of them this morning - mainly as they came down for food & stuff......

Actually - ME has just come & asked to use the printer... so, for now I'll away - I'll be back later tonight !!

A Friday Night In England.

Greeeeeeeetings !!  How are your Worlds doing tonight ?!

Here is something funny for you - the 'neighbour from hell' is always moaning about how people park in the close & how she can never get out.  Well, B has just gone to a gym class & guess what - there is a big van thing parked right outside of our little patch, with the owners in next door. !!  B, however can drive & got out with no problems at all - but, it just goes to show - one rule for her & the rest of us can go s***w ourselves !!  Oh well - I thought it was funny.... anyhooooo, onwards....

Right, it's a Friday night here in England, a little after 6pm...... ME & her boyfriend are here, upstairs at the moment & J is behind me, finishing up the dishes.  B, as mentioned has just gone out - leaving me typing these words to you all........ so, "Hello everybody" !!

I wasn't really thinking about writing tonight.... I really thought I would be doing other things, but - here I am !! It's been a slow day, we've not been out - putting our trip to town off, until tomorrow.

I did go down to see my GP this morning & - much to my surprise - he agrees with the guy I saw in the hospital, on Wednesday.... the mouth problems are all related to my illness & he kicked himself for not putting 2 & 2 together before !!  Me, I'm not convinced, but - I bow to their superior knowledge !!  I know it can attack my whole digestive system, but...... I just didn't expect it to be the case this time around !!  We'll see how things develop - who knows, they might decide to remove my throat this time !!  Hee-hee....

After the Dr's - we came home & B did some housework & I did next to nothing..... no, I wasn't being lazy, I was just keeping out of the way !!  I help where I can, but - sometimes - it's best to keep a low profile & let B get on with it !!

To be honest, I didn't sleep toooooo well last night, so just sitting here was, for me, the best option !!  I'm glad we didn't go into town, I wasn't really up for the trip - even if it is only 16 or so miles, there & back !! If we have to go in tomorrow - well, I'll see how I am in the morning.  There is a record fair on in Taunton, but ...... I'm not sure if I want to go.  That's a first - me not wanting to go to a record fair !!  I've said that before - I must be sick !!

Talking of music - at the moment I'm listening to 'Strangers In The Night' by UFO... it's the last of the 5 Cd set I've been working thru' all week.  It has taken a while, but there is a lot of music to listen to, over each of the discs !!  With everyone doing something else, it's given me time to give it a listen !!  Oh well - so much music.........

On the Led Zeppelin front... on January 20th (1975) they played a show in Chicago - I think it was the 2nd date of their USA tour that year.  The Cd's I have contain the following tracks:

Ok - now I'm getting a complex..... every one has gone upstairs !!  Was it something I said, or didn't say ?! So, I really am here on my own now..... I've not even got one of the cats for company !!  I'll just have to turn the music up a bit louder, to ease my hurt feelings !!

As always, I don't have any plans for the evening or the weekend for that matter !!  I hope we'll get to Church on Sunday - but, we'll have to see how I get on tomorrow night first !!  I'm pretty sure we won't be going too far tomorrow. I really don't think the record fair will be a good idea & I'm not 100% sure if we need too much in the way of shopping, so - it will probably be a quiet day again !!  If we have to go into town, well - I'll cross that bridge when we get to it !!  Hopefully, I can just stay here & lay low all day.....

I have to, at some point, take a load of books to one of the charity shops in town..... there is a pile of them sat here, some I've read, others I'll never read !!  A few of them were given to me by a couple in Church, just before they went 'home' to America..... as they said, they couldn't take everything with them, so they left a load for me to look thru'.  One or two I'll keep - they really are tooooo good to just "thro' out"... even if it is for a good cause.  I have one, which is a history of boats, thru' the years - now that one I will keep - who knows, one day I might have Grand kids (not yet guys !!) & they might like that sort of thing !!  Hee-hee again !!

Here's a little bit of trivia for you - today, CBS Action (I think) showed 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' episode 133, 'Rascals'.  That means, for the last 6 months, I've been watching re-runs of all the seasons up to today !!  How sad is that !!  Not only do I know it's episode 133, but - as they show 5 episodes per week - I've been watching it for 6 (count them) months !!  I really do need to get my drugs reduced, or at least turn the TV off from time to time !!

Oh yes... talking of drugs... my blessed GP has increased my daily intake !!  I'm not sure how many extra it will mean over 24 hours, but at 4pm, I used to take 3 pills - now, I'm up to 5 !!  So, if we take that over the whole day - well, I can't do the sums..... but, you can see where this is going, can't you !!  I was hoping to reduce my tablets this year & here we are, in January, & I'm taking more of the blooming things !!  I'm sure I must "rattle" as I go along !!  Who knows, one day I might just get off of all of them - but, as the old saying goes.... "when hell freezes over" - we'll see........ !!  Time & temperature !!

Right - the Cd is fast coming to an end, so I better be on my ways for this evening !!  I'm not sure when I'll be back, but - as always - I thank you all for reading.  Until next time.......

... the excitement is toooooo much.......

Hi & Hello Worlds - Are you spinning nicely ?!

When I started this blog - back many moons ago, I just thought it was a way to write about my family & the music I play, from day to day....... I never dreamt I would be seeing it on Google, or that I would have readers from around the World !!  It's been very humbling to see how many of you log in... I thank you !!

So - it's another Thursday night here in England.  The ladies of the house have just gone out to a gym class & it's really wet and horrid outside !!  I'm surprised ME went as well - but, it's a bit of company for B... so, why not I say !!  With the ladies out of the house & J upstairs in his room - that leaves me here - alone again - typing these words to you all..... it's such an exciting life I lead, I really find it hard to fit everything in !!

I'm still feeling a little 'low'... but, as each day goes by, I feel a little better & that's the main thing, I guess !! I really wish the whole implant thing was behind me, but..... it's not been the case, so I will have to live with it & hope - after the next surgery - it will be better !!  I'm not looking forward to the pain & stitches (again) &  yet another trip to theatre, but.... I don't really have much of a choice in the matter - so, I have to try & put up with it all !!  We'll see how things turn out & hopefully in a few months it will be all behind us - again !!

I actually spent a bit of the day in bed - nothing new there, I guess - but, I felt soooooo out of it, that B put me back under the covers for a couple of hours.... I must of needed the sleep, as I seemed to nod off as soon as my head hit the pillow !!

Anyhoooo - the music of the moment is the 'new' (to me) 2 Cd live set from Slash - 'Made In Stoke' - which came in the post today !!  I'm well enjoying it.... tho' I don't know too many of the tracks, just the Guns & Roses stuff.  I'm going to pick up his solo Cd tomorrow (I think) - so, that might fill in some of the blanks for me !!

I still have the UFO Cd's to listen to, but - as this looked good - I thought I would play this tonight...... so far, so good.  I'm not a big G & R's fan.... but - I do enjoy Slash's guitar work, so why not !!  It's all music folks - so... whats not to enjoy ?!

I have no Led Zeppelin shows from January 19th to write about - so, I'll skip that tonight..... if I post tomorrow, I do have some from their 1975 USA tour in my collection, so... maybe I'll write about that !!  I'll see what happens tomorrow......

....... I have to see my GP in the morning, so - if we go into town afterwards - I might not get around to the computer at all tomorrow, we'll see how time goes !!  I'm not 100% sure what we have to do in town, but, I'm guessing it'll be back to a supermarket to keep the kids & cats in food !!  I'm sometimes glad that I don't eat solids toooo often, at least I don't add to the food bill every week !!

I do have some liquid stuff from the Dr's that keeps me going.... so, in case you're wondering what I live off - it's just liquid with all I need to.  It's not brilliant, but.... it's better than nothing !!  Oh well.......

I see I have a constant reader from Russia - maybe more than one of you - anyhooo, thank you for reading, I sometimes wonder who you are & what you listen to... never mind !!  I did have a Russian pen-pal once, but - after he separated from his wife, I lost contact with him..... as with many of my pen-pals, over the years !! I'm still in contact with some of them - but, as time has gone on, we've, more or less, gone our different ways.  Some friends have gone & along the way, we've made new friends... that's life I guess ?!

I've just gone out to the kitchen - it's blooming cold out there !!  It's the one room the central heating doesn't cover - our thought, at the time it was put in, was it gets warm enough out there, while the cooker is on.... but, of course, the cooker isn't always on, hence tonight at least, it's cold out there !!  I could leave the door open - but.... I'm sat here & I don't want a cold breeze up my rear end !!

As for this evening - again, I have no real plans to do anything exciting...... listen to more music, I guess & head towards bed !!  B & ME won't be home until around 8.30, so.... I've another hour to blast stuff thru' the speakers !!

Hopefully soon, I'll have the next lot of Allman Brothers shows to listen too... then B & ME will be going out to the gym, just to get away from the place !!  No really - they don't mind most of my music - so.... I shouldn't moan tooooo much !!  I mustn't moan anyways - I always have more than enough music to listen to... B really does spoil me !!  Anyhooooo - I'll finish this Slash Cd & then watch a bit of TV.... hold me back - the excitement is tooooooo much !!  Until next time........

"Hi" Everyone In Internet Land - How are your Worlds treating you tonight ?

It's been a cold & wet day today, really not nice at all..... I don't mind cold, as long as it's dry-ish !!  Never mind - it's been a bit of "mish mash" of a day for me.... I will explain, as best I can !!

For the 2nd time in 7 days, I had to go back to the hospital - this time to have a Consultant check my mouth.  I don't mean my mouth so much, just.... well, it was a 'Ears, Nose & Throat' clinic - so.....  Anyhooo, the guy took a look & - much to my surprise - he thinks the problems I'm having, at the moment, are all linked with this dumb disease I have !!  I honestly thought it was going to be un-related, but.... I was wrong - so, that's a bummer !!

I know - from experience - that it can attack all of my digestive system.... but, it's still a pain when something 'new' comes along & whacks me sideways !!  He has made a note of my visit & has suggested - if it flares up tooooo badly, I should go back & see someone else.... probably, someone with more knowledge of my condition.  Oh well..... at least we know what's wrong, even if the guy I saw today can't really do much about it !!

So - that's why my day has been a bit of a 'mish mash'..... We made the trip to the hospital, saw a guy - who can't really do anything to help me - came home, knowing more or less as much as we did when we went in & now I'm here typing these words to you - not a bad day, just not a very good one !!  I'm surprised that it's connected to my health problems - I didn't expect that one, at all..... but.... it's better to know, rather than not know & have it "worry" along for a while.  It's just something 'new', that's all......

I'll see my GP on Friday (again) - so we'll see what he suggest I do from here..... I'm guessing not much - but, we'll see how it turns out.  Hopefully it won't mean anymore pills or potions !!  That would be bad !!

Right - I'm here alone at the moment...... ME & J are upstairs & B, my much better half, has just gone out to the gym - this time for a 'Step' class, tho' I have no idea what that means !!  As long as she is happy !!

As for the 'music of the moment' - it's still the 5 Cd set, by UFO, I was trying to play thru' last night.  I'm up to disc 4 now & I'm enjoying this disc, better than the rest - mainly as I know most of the tracks !!  I'm guessing I had the LP at some point, tho' I'm not really sure about that !!

I had an e-mail today... asking why I didn't do a Led Zeppelin show, yesterday..... well, mainly as I didn't have one from January 17th !!  But I do have one for today.... so, on this day - January 18th (1973) the band played at the St Georges Hall, in Bradford (UK).  The Cd's I have of the show have the following tracks on them:

My plans for tonight are really non-existent !!  There is a TV programme about the Crusades & - as I like "history stuff" - I'll try & stick a disc in for that.  It's on over 3 nights, so I'll record it & watch it back, when I'm more with it, at the moment.... well, it's been a long day !!  I think tomorrow is going to be a bit quieter, so I can rest up a bit & maybe - just maybe - get my self a little back together !!  I hate feeling low & I need to sort myself out a bit & try to pick my spirits up a bit !!  We'll see how things go I guess.....

Here is a little bit of 'strangeness' - UFO are playing 'Alone Again Or' (the old Love track) & it was on the hospital radio today, as we were waiting to be seen !! Oh well - I thought it was a little strange.... but, that's just me I guess & those of you, who know me, can testify - I really am a little strange !! Hee-hee !!

I've not been slacking off..........

Hello Again Worlds - I hope you're all doing well...... better than me at least !!

It's a Tuesday evening here in England, the weather is cold, but - for now - dry........  I only mention this as I've just waved My Wife & Dearest Friend off from the front door step - she is at a weight watchers meeting, followed by an hour at the gym.  From there she will go & collect ME (our Daughter) from her boyfriend's house....... she (ME) has been working today & as B drove her into work this morning, she has sorted out some sort of 'pick up' time with her - all very complicated really !!

So, that's two members of the family - our Son, J, has just gone upstairs to his 'Hobbit hole' of a bedroom & I won't see him again tonight - well, until it's feeding time, at least !!  That just leaves me, here in the 'rec room' typing these words to you, my dear readers !!

I have to say a "sorry" - I've not written anything for 4 days !!  I've not been slacking off or anything - I have, honestly, been a bit poorly.... B calls it "man flu" - I call it a pain in the butt !!  What little energy I had, seems to have gone 'walk-a-bout' & I've felt well under the weather !!

It all started after our trip - last Wednesday - to Weston...... I thought I was just tired, but... as the days went on, I felt more & more out of it !!  I felt low on Saturday, & on Sunday, we went to Church - but B had to bring me home after about half the service.... I think I was making her worried, sooooo she brought me home.  Never mind - we made the effort, had a word or two with Bishop... mainly to say "sorry" for not being there for a couple of weeks.... & he understood.  Mind you, looking like I did, he could probably see I wasn't firing on all cylinders !!  Oh well - we went, I got sick, we came home !!

I'm not sure what became of the rest of Sunday - or yesterday for that matter - but, I seem to remember we went into town for a quick bit of shopping, beyond that, it's all a bit of a blur !!  Welcome to my World !!

I do know one thing tho' - all being well - I have some more Allman Brothers shows on the ways to me.... "Yippppeeeeeee" !!  I only say that, as the order for the rest of their 2011 show has gone in (thank you B) & as Lady V hasn't told me they've sold out - I can only hope the Cd's are soon to be on their way to me !!

Plus - on the music front.... I've been very lucky so far this week - and it's only Tuesday !!   I'll try & fill in the blanks, as best as I can remember !!

As I type, I'm listening to a 5 Cd set by UFO.  It's a collection of stuff they did on the Chrysalis label - called 'The Chrysalis Years' (ho-hum)... I'm only up to disc 3, but so far so good - it's a lot of music to listen to !!  I'll be playing it for days at this rate !!  Also, I have a 'live' Cd from Bad Co. called 'Live At Wembley' - it's a little lame.... it's just a collection of their 'greatest hits', just live.... nothing toooo exciting tho' !!  Add to that, a single Cd by Yes called 'Fly From Here' - which as yet I've not played..........  If you put all of this with the Eric Clapton Cd's I (might of) mentioned last week, well - I've been well spoilt for stuff this past few days or so.... it's a shame I've not been up to listening to much - but, I'll give them all a good play this coming week or so !!  Lots of music - so few brain cells to listen to it all with !!  Oh yes - there was also a free Cd of Joe Bonamassa stuff with 'Classic Rock' this month...... again, I've not played it yet, but..... it's all music folks !!

With all of that going on in my life - I have to say a prayer for those people, still missing, in the Italian liner sinking.... our hopes are with the families + the families of the men who drowned off the Irish trawler, that also sank over the weekend........ something that was almost forgotten, because it was only a small boat !!

So, here I am - I've been away for 4 days & I have very little to write about !!  It really has been a very very bad weekend !!  I can't really write about being stuck in bed for several days, well - I could, but it would be just a page of ZZZZzzzzzzzzz's !!  Hardly exciting reading !!

I do have to get myself together this week tho'..... there is another record fair this coming Saturday - now, that will give me something to look forward to !!  It's only our local one - but, if I can, I'll meet up with some friends.... tho'... having said that, it's going to be upstairs & I'm not sure if there is an elevator !!  I sort that out on the day I guess !!

Thinking about it - I might be able to check it out (the elevator) tomorrow..... I have to go back to the hospital in the afternoon & if I have time afterwards (or before) I could look at the venue & see how easy (or not) it's going to be, to get into the place !!  I'll try & remember & check things out.

The hospital is just a 'check up'  - it's all going to be a bit of a waste of time - but, the Dr's want to see me - so, I more or less have to go..... we'll see what the good medic's have to say this time around !!  I'm in their hands really - I just get fed up of having to keep going back to the blooming hospital all the time !!

Being told last week, that the implant wasn't fitted correctly - well, that was a very low point..... but, I'll try & keep smiling, if nothing else !!  B is very supportive - she really is - & without her, I would have fallen apart years ago !!  I'm still falling apart - B is just there to pick up the bits, as I hit the ground !!  Oh well......

I've just started playing the Yes album - mentioned above....... it's Ok, so far - but, to me, they should of stayed with Jon Anderson on vocals !!  I'm always available if they need someone to fill in - who knows !!  I guess not........

Right, my plans for tonight are simple....... play some music, play some more music, get myself ready for bed (if I can) & then play some more music - now, that's a plan I can live with !!  Until next time.......

How Have Your Days Been ?

Greetings Worlds - How have your days been ?!

It's a Friday evening here in England - someone on the radio, earlier, reminded us all, that today is Friday the 13th !!  No biggy - it's been a good day & it reminded me that, in 9 months, it will be B's birthday !!  I don't think she would like to be reminded of that tho' - another year going under her belt !!

Talking of my better half - she & ME have just gone out to a Friday gym class.... I was surprised that little 'un went... but she has been home all day, so it's given her something to do.  The other quarter of the family, J, is upstairs - so, I'm down here in the rec room, playing music as loud as I dare & typing these words to you !!

It's been a "so-so" kind of day..... I'm still feeling down in the dumps about yesterday & the news from my Consultant - I actually saw my GP this morning, my weekly check up, and he wasn't toooooo impressed by the news !!  Never mind.... it'll sort itself out I guess, but I'm just very fed up about the whole thing really !!

After seeing him (my GP) B & I went into town to to get some stuff we forgot about yesterday....... the usual, pay some bills & get some food stuff !!  I enjoyed my trip out - tho' I was still a little out of it, mainly from our trip to Weston on Wednesday.... but, it was a good day, all the same !!  Especially for music !!

We went into the library & I came out with 2 Eric Clapton Cd's.... the 1973 Rainbow concert & his Madison Square Garden concert with Steve Winwood - I think the latter was from about 2009 or 2010, I'm not really sure, without checking.  Plus - in the post today, I had Seasick Steve & The Level Devil's 'Cheap' Cd and 2 Cd's by ,the now departed, Gary Moore..... 'Victims Of The Future' & the live album 'We Want Moore'.. I had both on Lp, many moons ago, so it's great to get the Cd's !!  It's given my spirits a great lift, to just be able to listen to them, without tooooo many clicks & scratches !!  I'm playing the latter Cd as I type - it's a good listen, well good !!

I also picked up an 'unauthorised' DVD about Pink Floyds 'Atom Heart Mother' album...... it was in the library, so I thought "why not ?" - I'll play that over the weekend I guess !!  Oh yes - I also managed to pick up a photo frame for my 'Pale Blue Dot' picture of the Earth... it's now sitting beside me as I type - I'm not sure where it will land up, but.. it's a great picture, so I couldn't resist the frame for it !!  It's amazing to see the Earth from sooooooo very far away !!

I was looking to see what Led Zeppelin concerts I had, from January 13th - but, I'm surprised to say, I couldn't find one !!  I will not look beyond today - I'll see what I have next time I post !!  For me, it's been fun - looking at the old Cd's & seeing what is there - as B is keen to remind me, they will make a nice funeral pyre !!  Bless her - I don't really mind what she does with them, after I'm gone - as long as she makes some use of them, I really don't care tooooo much !!  I do know some good friends who will be banging on the door, in the hope she will give them away.... me, I'm "passed caring" at the moment !!  No really - what ever she decides to do, would be fine by me !!

My plans for the weekend are just to rest up a bit - kick back & let my body try & catch up with the rest of the World !!  It's been a very hectic week & I need to ease back a wee bit....... I'm not sure if we'll be at Church on Sunday - it really will depend on how my body copes over the next 24 hours or so......

One thing I am going to do tho' - that's check out which Allman Brothers shows I want & try to put my order in....... I keep meaning to do it, but - with my brain - I keep putting it off !!  B said, today, I could have up to £250 worth of concerts & asked if that would be enough ?!!  Maybe, after the 24 years we've been together, she knows me better than I do !!  No, really - as much as I love the band - I don't think I want another £200+ worth of albums by them......... tho', you never know !!  I will really have to have a good look & see what takes my fancy........ if only I had an office, then they could be sent there - that seems like a better idea, what do you think ?!  Onwards....... before a build a scaffold, from which to hang myself !!

Oh I forgot - I also got a 3 Cd set today of (so called) 'Rock Anthems'.... it has all the usual suspects on it + a few odd ones.  Maybe it's me, but I'm not 100% sure that Ocean Colour Scene have ever done a 'rock anthem' - I'll play it later & see what happens.........  Maybe I'll use the new headphones, that ME gave me for Christmas - I've not given them a good "work out" yet !!  Oh well.............

Magic In The Air

Hi Everybody - I hope you're doing better than yours truly !!

Today was the day - the day I had to go back & see my Consultant...... if nothing else, to try & stop my back hurting sooooooo bad &, if I was lucky, to try & get the implant working !!  It's not been a very good day at all.......

B took me in - we parked & after a short wait, we saw Mr V...... so far so good !!  After a little examination, he decided I should have an X-ray... great stuff - we now know why the implant is not working !!  The blooming wires are in the wrong place !!  Brilliant !!

It seems that one of the wires (at least one) should be in my actual spine - it ain't !!  So, that explains why it hasn't worked & gives a little clue, as to why I've been in so much pain over the last month & a bit !!  I looked at the X-ray & sure enough - there was my spine & there was the wire... nowhere near each other !!

I was really upset - not angry, just upset......  I had hoped to start 2012 with everything going well, but - here we are in January & I'm looking at another spinal surgery !!  I actually had tears in my eyes as we left - I was soooooooo low, really down in the dumps !!  Never mind..... I'll just keep flapping my arms a bit longer I guess, tho' - at this very moment in time - I feel just like giving up & letting nature do it's worst !!

Anyhoooooo - the plan now, is to go back in another month, see how things are & then - if it's still the same - have surgery to correct the problem........  Working on the assumption, that the wire will not magically put itself into my spine, I'm guessing I will be back into hospital at some point soon... bummer !!

I would like to say - I can see the funny side of it all..... after all, only I could have a £10,000 bit of bionics put into my body & have it not work !!  Oh well....... we'll see how things go I guess... but, at the moment, I'm passed caring really !!  Onwards......... ever onwards !!

To add insult to injury - B (bless her) said we could go back up to Weston & she would buy me that Cd set - the one I wrote about yesterday - to cheer me up a bit.  So, when we got home - I phoned the shop, to ask them to put it back for me, until tomorrow morning.  Guess what ? - they sold it today & won't be having any replacements !!  So - I missed out on that as well !!  It really has not been my day folks !!  Oh well - again !!

I mentioned B - she has just gone out to the Thursday night gym class..... J is upstairs & ME has had to go back out.  She was at work, came home - realised she had forgotten something - so, after a quick 'food stop' has rushed back into town to see her boyfriend !!  I tell you, she is like a little hurricane, once she gets going !!  So - I'm here - on my own, no cats or anything - typing these words to you all, out there on your own Worlds !!

To give me something to do, I checked out January 12th, in my Led Zeppelin collection..... so, on this day, in 1975, the band played a 'warm up' concert in Brussels - it was a chance to try out some new stuff, before heading off for another American tour........... the tracks are:

This concert was a must for all Zeppelin collectors - not only is it a good recording, but some of the tracks were dropped for the tour & - although played a few times - they never really became part of the Zeppelin live shows.  I've had this set for years & I still play it from time to time........ it's a good one !!

So - what else has been happening today..... I honestly do not know - it's been the sort of day I just want to put somewhere, in a dark place & forget about !!  I really wish I could of stayed home & blasted music thru' the place & blown the day away !!

I did play The Who's 'Live At leeds' album this morning, but - the music of the moment is a 2 Cd set by Yes called 'Live From Lyon'... I think from 2009.  B bought it for me today - to try & cheer me up.... she really does go out of her way to make me happy, especially when I'm dragging my butt along the floor !!  It's not the best live set I have by Yes, but..... it's all music folks !!

Last night, after I had sorted myself out a bit - I wasn't as tired as I thought.... so, I looked in on the Allman's site, mainly to try & see what Cd's to order.  B has told me I can have the rest of the 20011 shows - but, there are few others I'm interested in.

The dumb part is - I was looking at shows & thinking "that looks good" & then realising I already had the show........ I had ordered them way back & forgot about exactly what I had !!  I'll have a better look soon & probably order up a few more than I should !!  So, Lady V - if you're reading.... as long as B doesn't kill me for it, expect an order very soon...... hee hee !!  If nothing else - I can plead insanity.. or the pain in my back confused me sooooo much, that I forgot how many sets I had ordered !!  I, some how, don't think that will work toooo well, do you ?!

Oh well - enough of my moaning.... I better away.  I've to sort out a DVD for a TV programme I want to record in about 30 minutes, so I must away.  I thank you for reading, until next time....... who knows, there might be some magic in the air & my spine will heal itself.... ho-hum !!

A Grand day Out..... in Weston ??????

Welcome Worlds.... I hope you are all doing Ok this evening ?!

It's a Wednesday night here in England & I'm completely bushed !!  B, J & myself spent most of the day - well, the early part, at least - in Weston..... it got to the point that my arms wouldn't work anymore & B had to push my chair for a while !!  Not something I'm toooooo keen on, but........ it was either that, or spend the night in the place !!

No - it wasn't that bad !!  I'm really glad to be home & in the house.... but, it was a good day !!  B had a good look at the various crafty places, well.... one we knew about & one we found by accident !!  In the end, she came home with some "good stuff" as she puts it - so, I couldn't wish for anything more !!  As long as she is happy, that is all I can wish for really !!

J had to go into town this morning - so, we waited for him to finish & then he came with us.  In a way, I'm glad he did - he knows his way around Weston better than we do !!  He has mates who live there & spends a bit of time with them, so.......

..... I thought, if we saw them, we could have some fun with the serving Elders - but, we didn't see anything of them.... which was a shame !!  We always love having fun with them - especially if it's a different area to ours !!  If you have no idea what I'm talking about..... well.... read my old posts !!  Never mind...

It was a great day out tho'..... it has been a very long time since we last went there, just to do some shopping & what have you.  We even went onto the new pier - the old one burnt down a few years back.  It's been re-built & looks Ok - tho' the main 'building' is a little crowded with stuff...... either that or, as B said, we're getting old !!

I did find the Cd shop that ME & her boyfriend told us about - but I broke one of my album buying "Cardinal Rules" !!  That is - if I see an album, that I want, I should buy it !!  Or, as was the case today - I saw one, thought it was toooooo expensive & left it on the shelf.... thinking Play.Com would be cheaper !!  Of course - I come home & 'Play' doesn't have it, at all - so I looked on 'Amazon' - only to find they wanted £50 for it - £36 more than the shop !!

I keep telling B & the guys - "if you see it, buy it" and I didn't.... so, I'm an idiot & that's a fact !!  Oh well !! I

guess, at some point, I'll find the Cd again - actually, it was a 4 Cd set - but, I could kick myself !!!!!!!!

Ok - that was our day... apart from coming back to ASDA & doing a weekly shop..... plus, before we went out, B had an e-mail to say the planning had gone thru' !!  So, our horrid neighbour will get to build her extension - well, that is to say, her Dad will.... it's his house after all !!  But - there is a chance it will get held up !!

The neighbour on the other side is refusing permission for them to use part of their land, to erect stuff, during the build !!  Unless they can do that, the build will have to be stopped & re-planned !!  We will see what happens I guess !!  I've never known a person - our neighbour - to be sooooo disliked by people !!  It's not just us - but, it seems a whole group of people, like us, who are "fed up" with the way she treats us, her neighbours !!

There are 2 ways of doing things - her way & the wrong way...... if you know what I mean !!

Never mind - the music of the moment is the Peter Gabriel concert, that the BBC put out in October 2011 - I do like it.... I'm pleased I've got a copy for myself - now, Mr Gabriel, please go & release it officially, so I can have an even better copy !!

Oh yes - a quick Led Zeppelin thing for you :  January 11th (1969) the band played (another) show in San Francisco - what is sooooooo special about this concert is that a few tracks have come out from the soundboard !!.... so, the tracks are....

Tomorrow is going to be a bit of a fun day for me - I'm heading back to the hospital, to see if the Consultant can do something about this implant of mine !!  Hopefully, if nothing else - he can stop the thing from hurting soooooo much !!  Usually I have back pain - but, this past month or so has been some of the worse I've had to put up with in many a year !!  Having 2 wires stuck into my spine has not been a lot of fun folks !!

If - and I say if - the actual implant was working & doing what it was supposed to do... well, that would be something... but, at the moment it's a double whammy !!  We'll see what he has to say tomorrow - maybe he can do something to help, maybe turn the 'pulse' up a bit, I'll let you know how it goes !!  Here's hoping !!

So that's tomorrow.... I forgot to mention about tonight !!  I'm here typing - with our oldest cat sitting beside me - B has gone to a gym class, J is in his room & ME & her boyfriend are upstairs, someplace - there is a Liverpool match on tonight, so I' guessing they - or at least he - will be down to watch that !!  Me - I'll have it on - but, if I watch it is another thing !!  I'm not a big football fan - sorry, that would be what we call football !!  Not grid-iron stuff......... oh well !!

I must away for now.... I really am tired out & I need to get myself together, ready for bed !!  It's only 7.10pm, but I am totally out of it !!  Until next time.......

"Such Is Life" Thank you Mr Kelly !!

Greetings Worlds - How are my favourite friends doing this fine evening ?!

It's a cold Tuesday night here in England - as I type, J is behind me doing the supper dishes, ME is (I think) heading towards her boyfriends & B, My Wife & Dearest Friend, is out at weight watchers - followed by an hour at the gym - she'll pick ME up on the way home, I hope !!

It's been a very quiet day - for me - I've done almost nothing & enjoyed every moment of it !!  I've played some Cd's - watched some DVD's & just sat around..... oh - I did watch a video of 'Grey's Anatomy' with B - that's kind of exciting, isn't it ?!  No ?! - I agree with you - it is kind of lame !!

For what ever reason - Channel 5 show the 'Grey's' TV show in the middle of the night !!  It was on at 4.15am this morning !!  How mad is that ?!  B & ME enjoy the show - so, as I have a load of spare tape - I usually record for them, to sit & watch at their own pace & time !!  Sooner or later we'll have a copy of the season on DVD.... but, for now, it's the old tapes that will get a bit of use !!  Oh well........

The music of the moment is an old live album by Deep Purple 'Live At The Olympia' from their 1996 tour.... this set (recorded in Paris) well, I seldom play it !!  In fact - I was just looking thru' the shelves & found it, more or less, by accident !!  I didn't plan on listening to it - but, he I am !!

I was actually playing some Richie Blackmore stuff earlier.... mostly from his newer albums - but... well, this is his old group....... which is kind of weird !!  Tomorrow we're hoping to go up to Weston & that's where Mr Blackmore was born, or lived, or whatever..... kind of strange !!  I didn't think about that, until this minute !!

We'll see what tomorrow brings - but we're both looking forward to going...... we've not been very far for nearly a month or more now, so it'll be a bit of a change !!  Plus, I want to go, to take my mind off going back to the hospital on Thursday !!  Hopefully it won't rain - but, we'll see how it goes !!

As mentioned, I'm hoping B will find some craft stuff..... I've printed out the names & locations of at least 5 'shops' - so, I hope she'll find something !!  There is a chance J will be coming with us - so, while B is looking at stuff, we 'men' (joke !!) can go off & look in some Cd shops... hee-hee !!  There is at least one store I want to find......

I was really pleased when I found this show - it was in the days (long gone now) when I could walk into a record fair & find something new.... well, new by Led Zeppelin, that is to say !!  I can still walk into fairs & spend lots of money - if B was to let me - on various things, but..... not much by Zeppelin !!  Oh well - more another time....... remember - don't buy bootlegs !!

Oh, if all goes well - I'll pick up a photo frame at some point, tomorrow.......  I found this picture called 'Pale Blue Dot' (or something like that) of planet Earth, taken from Voyager 1, at a distance of 6 billion kilometres !!  It's a beautiful photograph & just goes to show how unique we are - here on God's green & blue Earth... it's really a great picture !!  I'm glad I found it - I knew it existed, I just didn't know where.. now I have a copy !!  I want to put it in a frame, to try & keep it safe !!

Remember I mentioned the "neighbour from hell" & the fact they wanted to build a big extension onto their house ?  Well, today is decision day, as far as the planning part of it goes.... I was surprised to know that it's either going to be a "yes" or "no" on the say-so of one person !!  A lady in an office someplace, will look at the plans & give it the go ahead or not !!  No meetings, no consultations - just a single person, making a decision !!

To be honest - I think it will get the go ahead - I can't see what will stop it now..... after all, the local council (here in the village) said yes, even tho' the various neighbours objected !!  I felt, at the time, like B & I were let down, by the other neighbours - we were the only ones to go to the meeting & voice our objections - but, it's backfired on the ones who didn't go.... mainly, as they won't be able to appeal against the decision, if the building goes ahead !!  Oh well - "such is life"..... I love those 'last words' of Ned Kelly !!  Onwards !!

Ok - so.... my plans for tonight - well, no surprises, I don't really have any !!  I'm going to sort myself out & head to bed !!  B won't be home until after 9, so... that's too late for me & I will need my beauty sleep, if we go out - as we hope - tomorrow !!
