Today was the day - the day I had to go back & see my Consultant...... if nothing else, to try & stop my back hurting sooooooo bad &, if I was lucky, to try & get the implant working !! It's not been a very good day at all.......
B took me in - we parked & after a short wait, we saw Mr V...... so far so good !! After a little examination, he decided I should have an X-ray... great stuff - we now know why the implant is not working !! The blooming wires are in the wrong place !! Brilliant !!
It seems that one of the wires (at least one) should be in my actual spine - it ain't !! So, that explains why it hasn't worked & gives a little clue, as to why I've been in so much pain over the last month & a bit !! I looked at the X-ray & sure enough - there was my spine & there was the wire... nowhere near each other !!
I was really upset - not angry, just upset...... I had hoped to start 2012 with everything going well, but - here we are in January & I'm looking at another spinal surgery !! I actually had tears in my eyes as we left - I was soooooooo low, really down in the dumps !! Never mind..... I'll just keep flapping my arms a bit longer I guess, tho' - at this very moment in time - I feel just like giving up & letting nature do it's worst !!
Anyhoooooo - the plan now, is to go back in another month, see how things are & then - if it's still the same - have surgery to correct the problem........ Working on the assumption, that the wire will not magically put itself into my spine, I'm guessing I will be back into hospital at some point soon... bummer !!
I would like to say - I can see the funny side of it all..... after all, only I could have a £10,000 bit of bionics put into my body & have it not work !! Oh well....... we'll see how things go I guess... but, at the moment, I'm passed caring really !! Onwards......... ever onwards !!
To add insult to injury - B (bless her) said we could go back up to Weston & she would buy me that Cd set - the one I wrote about yesterday - to cheer me up a bit. So, when we got home - I phoned the shop, to ask them to put it back for me, until tomorrow morning. Guess what ? - they sold it today & won't be having any replacements !! So - I missed out on that as well !! It really has not been my day folks !! Oh well - again !!
I mentioned B - she has just gone out to the Thursday night gym class..... J is upstairs & ME has had to go back out. She was at work, came home - realised she had forgotten something - so, after a quick 'food stop' has rushed back into town to see her boyfriend !! I tell you, she is like a little hurricane, once she gets going !! So - I'm here - on my own, no cats or anything - typing these words to you all, out there on your own Worlds !!
To give me something to do, I checked out January 12th, in my Led Zeppelin collection..... so, on this day, in 1975, the band played a 'warm up' concert in Brussels - it was a chance to try out some new stuff, before heading off for another American tour........... the tracks are:

This concert was a must for all Zeppelin collectors - not only is it a good recording, but some of the tracks were dropped for the tour & - although played a few times - they never really became part of the Zeppelin live shows. I've had this set for years & I still play it from time to time........ it's a good one !!
So - what else has been happening today..... I honestly do not know - it's been the sort of day I just want to put somewhere, in a dark place & forget about !! I really wish I could of stayed home & blasted music thru' the place & blown the day away !!
I did play The Who's 'Live At leeds' album this morning, but - the music of the moment is a 2 Cd set by Yes called 'Live From Lyon'... I think from 2009. B bought it for me today - to try & cheer me up.... she really does go out of her way to make me happy, especially when I'm dragging my butt along the floor !! It's not the best live set I have by Yes, but..... it's all music folks !!
Last night, after I had sorted myself out a bit - I wasn't as tired as I thought.... so, I looked in on the Allman's site, mainly to try & see what Cd's to order. B has told me I can have the rest of the 20011 shows - but, there are few others I'm interested in.
The dumb part is - I was looking at shows & thinking "that looks good" & then realising I already had the show........ I had ordered them way back & forgot about exactly what I had !! I'll have a better look soon & probably order up a few more than I should !! So, Lady V - if you're reading.... as long as B doesn't kill me for it, expect an order very soon...... hee hee !! If nothing else - I can plead insanity.. or the pain in my back confused me sooooo much, that I forgot how many sets I had ordered !! I, some how, don't think that will work toooo well, do you ?!
Oh well - enough of my moaning.... I better away. I've to sort out a DVD for a TV programme I want to record in about 30 minutes, so I must away. I thank you for reading, until next time....... who knows, there might be some magic in the air & my spine will heal itself.... ho-hum !!
