Greetings Worlds !!
It is me again - reporting in from the wilds of England.... for once, it's not raining !! It's just a little cooler. I think B said it was a bit frosty, when ME went off to work this morning..... I don't know, I was fast asleep at that time of the morning !!
So - how has your day been ? I hope my German readers & those of you who log in, from all around the World are doing fine !! It's going to be February soon..... and that's one month closer to the Summer months !! Hoping of course, that we actually get any Summer to
enjoy !!
As you well know - I spent most of the last Summer, stuck in the blooming hospital...... the closest thing I got to a Sun-tan, was the heat coming thru' the windows, beside my bed !! Hopefully, things will be better, this coming few months & we can have a little break, away from home...... I'm not holding my hopes too high, but it would be good - just to go away on a couple of trips !! We'll have to see how things go....
Back to the family.... ME, is at work this morning. She'll be home late afternoon-ish - but, I think she said she is having this weekend off... so, hopefully, she will get a bit of a rest !! Anyhoo - with the munchkin at work, that just leaves B & I, here at home.
We have been having "fun" putting up a frame thing, around my side of the bed. It came with "easy to fit" instructions - yep... easy for them to write maybe, certainly not that easy to read or use !! Nevermind - the frame has now been put in place..... so, it should stop me falling out of the bed !!
For some dumb reason, since coming out of the hospital, last August, I have fallen out of bed twice..... which has not been good for my back... or my general state of health !! It's not far to fall - but, being dead asleep... then woken by the sudden "thud" of hitting the floor - well, that ain't so good !!
It has given me a new party trick tho' - which I've mentioned before - I have no feeling, at all, in my lower right leg, so that's a bit of fun !! Oh well - back to the family....
Who really just leaves J - who is over in Wales still doing his Uni course. Hopefully he is doing Ok.... it's his birthday next week - so..... I'm sure the birthday gifts will be making their way to him !!
As form me.... well, I'm typing these words - listening to Queensryche's 'Anybody Listening' track, from (I think) their 'Empire album..... now, that I think about it - that's an old album !! Still good tho' !!
It's just another track on the tapes, that I've mentioned before. I'm really glad I started to play them first, rather than going straight ahead & recording them onto Cd !! So far, I have had only one track, that I've not found on Cd here, in our collection !! That was/is AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck'...... I thought I had it here, some place - but....
nope !! I'll get hold of a copy..... at some point in the future !!
ME helped me out, last night... by digging out Bon Jovi's 'Slippery When Wet' Cd...... to explain.......
I played the tapes, yesterday & the track 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' came on....... and, despite hunting high & low for it, I couldn't find a copy anywhere !! I knew I had bought the album, at some point - but - I couldn't find it.... then ME came home & said I had given it, to her !! So - that was that little problem solved & I now have the Cd here, beside me. The tracks are:
1) Let It Rock
2) You Give Love A Bad Name
3) Livin' On A Prayer
4) Social Disease
5) Wanted Dead Or Alive
6) Raise Your Hand
7) Without Love
8) I'd Die For You
9) Never Say Goodbye
10) Wild In The Streets
The Cd has an extra track on it... which is just an enhanced Cd video or something, of 'Wanted Dead Or Alive'..... not exactly anything Earth shattering !! I'm not exactly a Bon Jovi fan... which would explain why I gave the Cd away, in the first place !! Oh well.... nevermind !!
I'm not sure which album, if any, I'm going to write about, today...... nothing is coming to mind !! Maybe later... The tapes have moved on, past Queensryche & onto a couple of live tracks, by Ozzy Osbourne !! Now then, that's a bit of a surprise - I didn't expect this at all !!
The tracks are:
1) War Pigs
2) Crazy Train
3) Paranoid
I think they are from one of his Wembley shows, way back when.... great stuff !! I was playing Sabbath's 'Paranoid' 3 Cd set, last week... that was great fun - tho' (I'm guessing) not to everybody's taste !! This was definitely a nice surprise.......
I often wonder what you guys are listening to.... come on guys, send me an update !!
Back to the hospital....
As mentioned before, I saw a plastic surgeon Consultant, a week or two back, and we didn't get on very well, at all !! Anyhoo - in the post, yesterday & today, I've had letters come, for follow up appointments, with him. ?! What is the point of seeing each other again - he said he wasn't going to help, so why waste each others time !?!
One of the letter really p**s*d me off - because it was to see a dietitian !! That has really got me.... when I've seen two Consultant's, both of who are happy with my diet, why should I go back to seeing the girls from that department ?! It sucks - especially when I've seen them, almost daily, while I was in the hospital & they were happy with me !! Honestly.....
I will probably get into "trouble" - because I've cancelled both of the appointments..... my regular guy might not like that, but what the heck.... after 8 months of this crap, I don't want to be messed around any more !! Moving on.....
I'm just playing Zeppelin's 'Riverside Blues' - I seem to be playing a lot more Zeppelin, over the last week or so !! Not that that's a bad thing.... but, sometimes I go months with-out playing anything by them..... oh well, it's a good place to end on....
So - I thank you all for logging in & thank you for the time you take to read my words... until next time...
Bye Bye

RIP Mr Seeger
A bit of a mouth full... Ho-hum..
Greetings Worlds !!
I hope you are doing well & will forgive me for not writing earlier.... I have no real reason why, maybe just a little bit of "tardiness" on my part !! No- really... I was going to write something... but, time pushed me along & before I knew it, it was Tuesday & a whole 5 days had come & gone - Oh well..... !!
First... the family !!
At the moment, there are only 2 of us here. My little girl, ME is sat watching TV..... I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but she seems to be enjoying it & I'm (certainly) not sure if she will like me calling her "my little girl"..... but, no matter how old she gets, she will really always remain my little girl !! Onwards...
My Wife & Dearest Friend, B - well, she has gone off to town.... it's weight-watchers evening. I'm not sure she likes "sharing" her pounds with those who are there, but - at least she meets up with the "girls" & have a chat about this, that & the other !!
So - apart from the (4) cats... that just leaves J, our Son... who as you will all know, is over in Wales, doing his Uni course. B had a text from him & he's doing well..... I'm really proud of him !!
Right... back to last week & my last visit to the hospital - it would be great to think it was my last visit, but - I should be sooooo lucky !! As it was, there is a bit of light, at the end of this long journey - which, as B & I were talking about this morning - started, surgery wise, 8 months ago today !! A whole 8 blooming months !!
Yep - it was May 28th of last year, when I was last ask the question.... "Are you certain you want to do this ?" - or words to that effect !! Mind you - after 5 months of thinking about it... I wasn't turning back at that time.... on a bed, just outside of the operating theater !! Oh well.... back to last Thursday....
Once again, I met up with the guy, who did the very first operation..... and, to put it bluntly, he was not a happy bunny !! He thought the plastic surgeon was actually going to do something, when I saw him, the previous Friday !! The fact that he was just suggesting to leave it alone & see how it went, over the coming months !! Well - he was pretty pissed off about it all.....
I now have to wait, to see another guy - to get a second opinion about what is best to do. I will have to go back to the hospital, in Exeter (bummer) - but, hopefully I will get some kind of definite out-come to it all. If the new Consultant agrees with the guy I saw 11 days ago, well... I guess that's an end to it all !! I will have to let the wound heal on it's own & see how it turns out - I know that will take a couple of months or so... but, at least it'll be over & done with. As I'm found of saying... "time will tell" & that's a fact !!
I will no doubt moan about it all, over the next couple of posts - but, I'll soon get used to waiting..... onwards !!
The music of the moment is the fantastic Led Zeppelin !! Yep - the band who have given me hours & hours of listening enjoyment & B - well, not so much enjoyment - shall I say, she puts up with it & leave it at that !!
I'm actually playing an old tape... one I've mentioned before. It is one of 10, that I recorded when B was in hospital, after giving birth to my "little girl" !! You can read all about them, in an earlier post.... but.... it was something I did back then, to keep me occupied !!
The reason for playing them...? Well, I wanted to transfer them over to Cd.... but, as I have nearly all of the tracks, actually on Cd... it seemed a bit of a pointless exercise !! It would make some fine Cd's... but, what would be the point - other than giving myself something to do..... inbetween pain killers etc etc !! I'm just as well leaving them alone & playing the tapes, from time to time....
...... but, I wanted to hear what was actually on the old things, just incase there was something "rare" or missing from our collection !!
At the moment, I'm listening to Zep's 'The Rain Song'...... from their 'Houses Of The Holy' album. There was no real reason, for putting it on the tape - but, it's there & that's about it really !!
If, by chance, I come across something - well, I'll make a Cd up from that... what ever it might turn out to be !! I can't imagine it will be anything overly brilliant, or else I would of done something about it, before... but, I'll see how things go !!
Talking about how things go.... this brings me around, to my album "that has had an effect on me" !! Dramatic or what !!
way back when, I used to buy "live" albums - as I've mentioned before - so I could hear bands, as going to concerts was a bit of a "no no" !! Anyhoo - I bought this 3 Lp set called 'The First Great Rock Festivals Of The Seventies'.... a heck of a mouth full !!
But.... mouth full or not, it did contain 2 tracks by The Allman Brothers Band' - who, by then, I had never heard !! You can see where this is going, can't you !!
Well, from there I bought the bands 2 Lp set 'At Fillmore East' and the tracks on that album are:
Side 1
1) Statesboro' Blues
2) Done Somebody Wrong
3) Stormy Monday
Side 2
1) You Don't Love Me
Side 3
1) Hot 'Lanta
2) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
Side 4
1) Whipping Post
That was it really.... from then, until now... I buy Allman Brothers stuff !! I must sit down, at some point & count up just how many Cd's I have by the band ?! That will give me something to do - for the best part of the morning !! Oh well....
Ok... my plans for tonight..... "none at all" really !! It's pushing towards 7pm - so, I ought to think about sorting myself out for bed !! That will take me the best part of the evening, or at least, what's left of it !!
So - with that in mind - I will be on my ways !! As always, I thank you all for logging in & reading my words... until next time..
Bye Bye

A quick "Hi"... Ho-hum
Hi again World's...
Just a very short post.... because I'm heading out to the hospital, again, in a short while & I wanted to say "Hi" before leaving home !!
Three quarters of the family are here - only J is missing, as he is over in wales... as long time readers will know.
The music of the moment is Nightwish's 'Imaginaerum' album.... I just wanted something to blast the brain apart, before going out of the door !! Plus - it's going to go on the latest "project" & I needed to give it another listen, to see how it would fit in.
Apart from that - the hospital, family & music.... well, as I say... just a quick "Hi" post.... take care you all.... until next time.....

Dream Theater & other thoughts....
Greetings World's !!
Just a very quick post today... I'm too blooming knackered to write very much, sorry about that !! But - a big "Hello" to all of you, from Canada, South Korea & all around the World !! I still find it kind of cool, to see all of you guys are logging in, like you do - it's a pretty good feeling, to know you are out there !!
As for here - well, I'm on my own, for a while at least. B has just gone into town, to some kind of new gym class. I'm not sure, exactly when it started, but this is the first time B has gone to it..... As for the rest of the family.
ME is doing a late shift & won't be home for a while.... so, I'll probably be in bed & asleep, by the time she comes thru' the door !! She is still well happy, about getting their first house & stuff..... I'm really proud of my kids !! Not just ME - but, our Son as well, J.... who, as long time readers will know, is over in Wales, doing his Uni
course !! He could of taken the "easy" route & done the course, at our local college..... but, he went for the second option & the hardest one - by moving over to Wales and doing the whole Uni thing there !! He decided to move away.... hating my guts, probably helped in making that decision, but..... it was his choice !! As I say - no matter what any of my 3 kids think of me - I'm proud of them all !!
Onto music....
I've been playing lots of stuff, that will eventually land up on my newest project....... see yesterday's post, to find out what I'm going on about !!
Anyhoo - at the moment, I'm listening to the "bonus" disc, from Transatlantic's 'Whirlwind' album, that came out in 2009 - heck, I didn't know it was that old !! Nevermind.... the tracks are:
1) Spinning
2) Lenny Johnson
3) For Such A Time
4) Lending A Hand
5) The Return Of The Giant Hogweed
6) A Salty Dog
7) I Need You
8) Soul Sacrifice
I'm sure that you will have spotted, there are a few cover versions on the Cd..... at the moment, I'm playing 'The Return Of The Giant Hogweed' - which came out on Genesis's 'Nursery Cryme' album... way back in mists of time !! Whatever - I've played it, over & over, at the hospital, last Summer - so, it's going to go on the 'project' at some point or another !! It's just a bit of fun really.... gives my mind something to work on !!
I have been playing Dream Theater stuff, for probably most of the day - namely 'A Dramatic Turn Of Events' and the latest studio album, simply called 'Dream Theater'..... I've really enjoyed giving them a good going thru' - lots of fun !! After this Cd finishes, it'll be the turn of Within Temptation's 'The Unforgiving' - or whatever it's called.... I get a bit mixed up on that one & the things that Nightwish have released !! Oh well....
I don't really want to go into any old albums today... maybe tomorrow or Saturday !! Tho' - having said that, I'm in the blooming hospital again, tomorrow, so I might not have a bundle of time.... bummer !! I'll see how things go..... I'm not expecting much, from the Consultant, but.... time wise, I might be a bit short !!
For now tho' - I must away.. as I said above, just a short post today !! Sorry about that... until next time...

Oh no !! The bloody Dream Theater story again !!
Greetings World's !!
I hope you are all doing well - I'm getting over the disappointment of not having a "quick fix" surgery on my back.... but, it has brought me down, with a bump. Nevermind - on Thursday, I have to see the Consultant, who originally did my operation, sooooo we'll see what he has to suggest !! Hopefully it won't be as simple as just waiting for it to heal - that could & will take months..... given what I've had to put up with, over the last 13 months, I think I deserve more than that !! I'll let you know how all of that turns out.....
Anyhoo - this is just going to be a quick post, tonight, I've got a few things to do & I need to get on with those !! First tho' - the family !!
Tonight is B's weight-watchers evening... and, altho' she says she hasn't lost any weight... she has gone out to the meeting anyways. She will be home, somewhere about 7.30 or 8 tonight. ME - well, she is working a load of late shifts this week - so, I will be in bed, long before she gets home !! That just leaves my number one Son, J - who as you might already know, is over in Wales.... doing his Uni course.
So - that leaves me, home alone..... playing the music as load as my poor old eardrums will permit !! At the moment.... well, I'll try & explain - for new readers in particular.....
From time to time, I do little music "projects". By that, I will pick a "meaning" or maybe a date, or set of dates & do a music "project" around that.... a kind of "playlist" thing !! In days gone by - I would put together tapes..... sometimes over a whole year (check out any post, with Project 87 on it) and sometimes, as things have moved along, onto Cd's. I must admit, I've yet to do a solely iPod "project" - but, the last Cd thing, that I did a few years ago, landed up on the Mini Egg !!
What I'm doing now - well, it's going to turn out to be another Cd thing.... based around the stuff I listened to, during my 3 months in the hospital, last Summer. It's going to range from Dream Theater, to Rush, to Within Temptation & Nightwish....... plus a few things which are on my mind, but - as yet - I've not decided to include.
The last one I did, well.... that worked out at 18 Cd's in length.... I don't know just how long this one will be, probably shorter, it'll depend just how carried away I get !!
I must also... when I get chance, transfer some old tape "projects" over to Cd. There are several here, laying around, that I keep meaning to do, but - I just haven't got around to it all yet !! I will - just not yet tho' !!
This morning, for my sins - I went & saw my local Doctor, something I decided that I would never do (again) - but, I'm in trouble, with all that is going on, so he is my first port of call, when I desperately need something !! Anyways - he wasn't too happy, about what the plastic surgeon guy said, last Friday, but.... life will go on !! I just wanted to keep him, "in the loop" as it were, over what has gone on.
On Thursday - he wants me to 'phone him, when I get home from the hospital, after seeing my main Consultant. I don't know exactly what he can hope to do about anything.... I don't think he'll be in any kind of position to alter things !! Maybe he just wants me to avoid jumping off of any bridges..... that would be one way out - but, I would guess, slightly painful !! Oh well....
I'm back to the local surgery, tomorrow - as it's dressings time again !! Such a lovely thing - I will miss it, when it's all over & done with.... NOT !! If you hear screaming, off in the distance - that will be me...... take no heed, it will pass !!
I was thinking, about which album I was going to write about.... one that has changed my life, in one way or another.... But, as I was playing Dream Theater, I decided to write about a DVD..... which, I think I bought, when we were on holiday, in 2004. I will explain....
We spent 2 weeks, down in Cornwall.... and there was a pretty good music shop, in Penzance. Anyways - I picked up a DVD by Queensryche called 'The Art Of Live'.... which came out, as a follow up to their 'Tribe' Cd. I've liked the band since... well..... maybe that's for tomorrow night... but, I bought the DVD, to play in the place we had rented for the Summer weeks. The tracks are:
1) Tribe
2) Sign Of The Times
3) Open
4) Losing Myself

Anyhoo - I'm sure I've written about this before - the DVD was pretty good.... Queensryche were on top form.... and despite what has happened to them, in the last few years, the band really rocked !! But - it was the 2 encores, that got my attention !!
This group of guys just walked on stage, with the 'Ryche and tore the ass off of 2 of the greatest rock anthems in history.... and I didn't have a clue who they were !! After a bit of research - I found out, it was a band called dream Theater & - some how - I had missed their first bundle of albums.... not got !!
On our next trip, into Penzance, I picked up their 2003 album 'Train Of Thought' (the only Cd they had by them, in the store) and, from that moment onwards, I was completely hooked !! I've picked up all of their official albums & a couple of not so official things..... all worth having tho' !!
It was a weird way, to find out about a "new" group.... but, well worth it.... it's amazing what you can find, when you're not expecting it !! But - that's how I found out, about Dream Theater.... a happy experience, which I'm glad to say, has not past me by !! More another time....
Ok - my plans for tonight.... Well, I've a few dishes to wipe up... but, that's about it really !! Another quiet time in the homestead..... I must write an e-mail to Lady V + one to T & R out in Utah.... I've been a little tardy on the e-mail front lately...... slap my wrists - go on, you know you want to !!
But, for now.... I will be on my ways..... As always, I thank you all for logging in, wherever you are, around the World, it's great to know you're out there, reading my words.... I thank you all... until next time...
Bye Bye
5) Desert Dance
6) The Great Divide
7) Rhythm Of Hope
8) My Global Mind
9) Roads To Madness
10) Della Brown
11) Breaking The Silence
12) The Needle Lies
13) Best I Can
14) Comfortably Numb
15) Won't get Fooled Again

Saturday, 18 January 2014
A great end to the week....
Hi again everybody !!
It's another Saturday & it's still raining out side !! It's crazy.... it really is !! We live in a fairly "rural" area & the fields are completely saturated... you can honestly see the water flowing off of them !! Luckily - so far, we have never been flooded here, but I always look to the back of the house, just incase there is a puddle !!
Mind you - if we get flooded - well, the rest of the village would be underwater !! We live at the "top end" of the village... so, luckily we don't get many problems.... oh well - enough of the weather !!
As mentioned - it's another Saturday & the end of another week.... not one of the best ones I've ever had - but, more of that later..... first, the family !!
At the moment, B (my Wife & dearest friend) and I are the only two here. As I type, she is up in J's room, sorting out some of her crafty stuff..... she is having a "big" change around, in the hope that she will be able to find things easier. If it's anything like my Cd filing system, well.... good luck B !!
As for the rest of the family.... J (our Son) is in Wales, at Uni....... and ME (our Daughter) is out with her boyfriend (M) looking at houses & the such like. They hope to buy one soon - it's just a case of finding the right one !! They, more or less, have their mortgage - so... it's house hunting time !!
I think she will be home for tea - not sure if M's coming over as well..... I'll find out, as & when they come thru' the door !!
So - that just leaves me......
I'm sat here listening to another Gov't Mule concert.... this time one that's on You-Tube (or what ever it's called).... hopefully, this year, they will release some new concert Cd's. they seem to play a shed load of concerts, so it would be great to have another live set from them !!
Earlier, B & I went into town.... even tho' it was raining like heck, we still had to get some groceries, so... !! The supermarket wasn't too bad - I think the weather was keeping people in doors !! As long time readers will know - I hate crowds !! Oh well.... we also had to go to the hospital - to explain.
Yesterday afternoon, I had to go into Taunton, to meet up with the plastic surgeon guy - that was a complete waste of time & effort !! I'll explain why, in a minute - but.... Because they took my dressings off, to look at the wound, they had to re-dress it, afterwards. Honestly - it was really crap... the thing (dressing) was piratically falling off !! So - earlier - B took me to the local hospital, here in town. I say locally - it's about 10 miles away - but, it's a lot closer than Taunton..... to have it done over, by one of the clinic nurses there.
Anyways - she did a great job on it.... now, hopefully, it will last until Monday, when I go to the surgery, here in the village, to have it looked at again. I must of gone thru' hundreds of dressings, over the last 7 months or so !! Oh well.... back to yesterday.
I had to meet up with a semi-retired Consultant, so he could give the wound the once over... to see if another surgery would help. Well, after less than 2 minutes, he decided it wouldn't help - then, for the next 5 minutes, he & one of the other guys there started pulling & poking my back, discussing what they could do, if they did actually do anything !!
Honestly, talk about pain !! I know they are experts in their respective fields - but, for crying out loud, if you're not going to do anything, why put me thru' all the pulling & stuff !! It really did hurt !!
It seems that, I now have to wait 3 or 4 months, for the hole in my back, to heal on it's own !! That will mean, give or take, that it will about a year, since the first operation, for the whole thing to heal
over !!
I actually said to the guy, I was hoping for a quicker solution then that, but he said he was going to change his mind - so, that really did spoil my day !! Even worse, they left the room & sort of forgot about me..... we just sat there, waiting for someone to redress the stuff they took off, until a nurse came in & found me waiting there !!
Someone then came & botched up the re-dress... hence I had had to go to the clinic today, to have it done over.... not good really !!
I now have to wait until Thursday (I think) to see the Consultant, who actually did the surgery in the first place... really & truly to see what he might decide to do next, if anything !! He might not be too happy to see me.... given how much "pain" I've had to go thru' - following the failed skin graft, in December !! I've put up with a shed load of stuff, since last May...... but, things are getting beyond a bloody joke now !! To say I'm going to have a bloody moan at him.... well - we'll see what he has to say, he might have some magic fix, up his sleeve......... but, I doubt that very much !!
The thought of have this going on, for another 3 months or so..... well, I know there are people worse off than me, but..... I've had enough now - I want my ball back !! The kids can play with someone else's toys !!
Oh - while I was coming out of the hospital, a guy said "hello" to me. It took a while, for me to remember him - but, he was in hospital, for a while, last year, when I was there. It was nice of him to speak to me..... but, it was also very sad... it turned out his little girl had died, since I last saw him !! As I just said - there are people worse off....
Getting back to music...
I was going to write about a Lp & how it changed things for me - but, really & truly, it wasn't so much the Lp, just side one & the four tracks that are on it !! I'm talking about Led Zeppelin's first album & - to a slightly lesser extent, their second one as well.... the tracks are:
Led Zeppelin (1)
1) Good Times, Bad Times
2) Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You
3) You Shook Me
4) Dazed & Confused
5) Your Time Is Gonna Come
6) Black Mountain Side
7) Communication Breakdown
8) I Can't Quit You Baby
9) How Many More Times
Led Zeppelin (2)
1) Whole Lotta Love
2) What Is & What Should Never be
3) The Lemon Song
4) Thank You
5) Heartbreaker
6) Living Loving Maid (She's Just A Woman)
7) Ramble On
8) Moby Dick
9) Bring It On Home
Why am writing about two albums - well, quite simply because I bought both of them, on the same day & listened to them on that
day !! But, it was simply the first side of Lp one, that really did it for me. It had everything I liked about music... it really did.... From blues, thru' acoustic to down right rock !!
I had recorded a few of the bands radio slots, from earlier in the year & I knew several of the tracks, before I actually laid out the cash to buy them....... but, to blast the Lp thru' the stereo system, that was pretty good, for it's time - well, it blew me completely away, it really did !!
Since then, I've bought all of the bands official releases - sometime two or three times over - and, for my sins, loads & loads of the bootlegs that have come out over the years !! As always - don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff - but..... I just really enjoy listening to their live shows & how they (the band) changed over the years.
I was lucky to see the band twice & Robert Plant & Jimmy Page a few times... solo & together - all of them have been concerts to
remember !! You can read all of my ravings, about some of the concerts, in my earlier posts...... but, those albums certainly had one mother of an influence on my life !! You can almost smell the Zeppelin Cd's scattered around the house... I've lost count of how many I've now collected - but, nearly all of them are worth having !! Plus - thru' collecting their stuff - I've made friends with a load of people over the years..... it's been a lot of fun !!
ME has just come home, with some fantastic news.... they have found a house & have had an offer accepted !! They are going to be buying as soon as things get sorted out, bless them !! I'm very happy for both of them & I'm proud of both of my children !! They are both brilliant "kids" - even if they don't like their old man, from time to time....... I love them both !!
So - with that fantastic news.... I will be on my ways..... I don't think I can write much more - I'm sooooo happy at the moment, it's
fantastic !! A great end to the week....
I thank you all, for logging in & taking the time to read my words.... until next time....
Bye Bye

Another quiet day in England...
Greetings World's !!
B is behind me - in the kitchen - and between us, we have decided Archie (our youngest cat) is very, very strange !! As B is cleaning the floor, Archie is doing his best to investi-cat everything around him.... he really is a sweet "kitten" - but, he also has a mean streak in him !!
You can hold him, play with him... even smooth him, with-out any kind of trouble..... then, as if he has found a bit of evil in his cat brain - he will turn & try to give you a swipe with his paw !! He isn't sooooo bad - most times, he doesn't use his claws or anything, it's more of a "play" type of thing !! Oh well - that's today's update on Archie....
How are you all doing this fine & wet day ?! It has been raining now, for the best part of the last week - it's no wonder everything is getting flooded !! Oh well... maybe we will have a better Summer, to dry it all out - yeh, like that's going to happen !!
As I type - B is now sat beside me, drinking some kind of "tea".... I use the word, well - it's not like any tea I ever drank in my youth !! It's just a weak, none caffeine type of stuff, that a lot of Mormons (like ourselves) drink. Personally, I've never been much of a tea drinker...... I always proffered coffee !!
Then - about 7 years ago (now, come to think of it) a food lady, at the hospital, told me to cut back on how many gallons of the black stuff, that I went thru' each day.... so, I just stopped drinking it, from that day on !! I didn't see any point in cutting back - it made more sense to give up, all in way go & face the demon withdrawal symptoms all in one go !! Thinking back, on it - it was kind of hard.... I really did drink shed loads of the stuff..... nevermind... that was then & this is now !!
Back to the family..... as mentioned, B is here with me. ME is out working, until late (I think) - but, she is going straight to M's (her boyfriend) - so, I won't see her for a day or two. That just leaves J - who is working away, at Uni, in Aberystwith .... I'm guessing he is doing Ok - if you're reading this j, give your Mum a text, to let her know how you are getting on !! I know she will be glad to hear from you.....
So - that's the family.....
Well - apart from your's truly..... I'm doing Ok. I got up for a while, this morning, but needed to go back to bed for a short while - mainly, I think, because the pills & potions I took earlier, sort of knocked me sideways !! They do that, from time to time..... it's no big deal, just a bit of a bummer !! The "good" news is, really, that I have had two great nights sleep !! Now, that is a bonus for me.... some nights, well.......
..... We have a village clock tower & it's bells sounds the hours, every night....... so, some nights, I just lie there & listen to the bloody bell going off, hour after hour !! Now - that is a bummer !! Oh well....
I'm grateful for the sleep tho' - especially as later, I have to go back to the hospital to see the plastic surgery guys again. This time, as probably mentioned yesterday, I'm seeing another Consultant - who is, so I'm told, very high up on the surgeons "Top 100" of all time !! So - that should be a lot of fun...... but, I'll see what he has to say for himself !!
If he wants to give the skin graft another go, so be it... if he's not sure, well.... maybe, just maybe, I'll have a think about. I've had 8 operations, since December 2012 & - to be honest - I am really getting fed up of it all now !! If the guy (this afternoon) can give me a good reason for having another surgery - well, I'll have a think & decide about it later on...... I don't want to have another skin graft, just to have it fall off again - that's too much like hard work, for me !!
I'll see what happens, I guess......
As for the music of the moment...... well, it's a live Cd by Asia, which came out in 2010 (according to the box) and, to be honest, it's not that brilliant !! There are some stand out tracks, on the thing & those were the main reason for getting a copy. The tracks are:
1) Only Time Will Tell
2) Time Again
3) An Extraordinary Life
4) My Own Time
5) Open Your eyes
6) Fanfare For The Common Man
7) Here Comes The Feeling
8) Never Again
9) The Heat Goes On
10) Sole Survivor
11) Don't Cry
12) Heat Of The Moment
13) Midnight Sun
Tracks 1-6 & 12 are, really, the only reason for getting this disc...... there are some good tracks on the thing - but..... I'm a sucker for the old stuff !!
Talking of "old stuff" - I was playing Black Sabbath's last album (I think) '13'.... now that was good !! Too many tracks to pick as a good one, in particular - but, if you get chance to buy a copy, go for it !! I did like the very end of the last track - it merged into the opening of 'Black Sabbath' with the rain & bell tolling !! Well good...... !!
As I've not really been "with it" over the last couple of months... I thought I would give a quick list of the stuff, that I can remember buying recently.... so, in no order what so ever...
'Essentially' - Yes.... a 5 disc box set of some of their later albums.
'Paranoid' - Black Sabbath... the 3 disc set from 2009.
'Perfect Strangers' - Deep Purple.... a 2 Cd + DVD of their Australian tour in 1985.
'Maggot Brain' - Funkadelic.... I heard Gov't Mule do a cover of this - so, I wanted to hear the original.
'Q Music Sessions' - Within Temptation.... B's last & delayed Christmas pressy.
'The 30th Anniversary fan Collection' - The Hooters... a brilliant 4 Cd box set, brilliant !!
'High Hopes' - Bruce Springsteen..... as mentioned yesterday, pretty good collection.
'Apocalypse Now' - Various... two versions of the soundtrack to the film. Both good.
'Songs Of A Lifetime' - Greg Lake... sorry Greg, this one is really bad......
'The Hobbit' & 'The Lord Of The Rings'... a 56 disc box set of Rob Inglis reading the books, well good.
'Live At Bonnaroo' - Warren Haynes.... a great acoustic set, good & get a copy, it's really good !!
Add to those, the Asia & Black Sabbath albums mentioned above - plus all of the ones I've forgotten about & you have a idea of what I've been listening to, over the last month or so !!
Anyhoo - my plans, for the rest of the day...
Well, as mentioned, I have to head back to the hospital.... but, that's not until about 5pm this afternoon - so, it's going to be a long while, before we get home tonight !! Apart from that, I've got to pick up a couple of Cd's from town... and, that's about all !! Another quiet day, here in the wilds of England !!
So - for now, I will be on my ways.... I'm still trying to clear up the table & find a few things !! As always, I thank you for your time, logging in & stuff.... until next time...
Bye Bye
Both good.

A good day & a quiet night...
Hi again...
A big "Hello" to my Russian reader... I thank you for logging in & reading my words !! Well - you could read my words, if I actually wrote anything !! Anyhoo - to explain....
I've not written anything, mainly as I've felt like crap & - for my sins - I landed up, back in the bloody hospital again !! Honestly, I should have a season ticket to the place.... I even landed up in my old bed !!
Anyways - that was then... well, last week, for a few days. I was allowed home on Friday... but, feeling like crap, I just didn't feel like writing anything - sorry about that !!
But - it's now a Thursday & - for some reason - I feel World's better today... yesterday, all I wanted to do, was stay in bed & sleep - today... well, I feel sooooo much better, it's really weird !! Oh well....
First the family...
As I type, B is upstairs, trying to sort out the "mess" in J's room.... I went up a little earlier & she seems to be making headway !! As mentioned before - while J is at Uni (in Wales) - B is using the room, to do her crafty sort of stuff... so, she really wants to be able to get in there & do stuff....
J is over in Wales - as I say..... which just leaves ME... who is at work today. I'm not sure exactly what time she will be home, but.... I guess it might be later tonight. I don't really know what time she started !!
So - that's the family... as for me...
Well, I've been trying to catch up on things... e-mails & the such like. I had to 'phone a friend, as he sent me a brilliant DVD. Unfortunately, it came just as I went sick - so, I didn't get to call him !! That was very naughty of me - but, as I was in the hospital & stuff, I think he understood !!
The music of the moment... well, it was the latest Bruce Springsteen Cd 'High Hopes'..... but, as it's just finished, I'm now playing a Gov't Mule live set....... I'm not 100% sure which one it is - but, it was in the 5 disc player.. so, it's taken it's place & is now blasting away !!
To explain the set up, I have here.....
On the top, there is the Lp deck - which still gets played, even tho' I've sold most of my vinyl a long time back !! Below the deck - there is the amp... that's an old (but still good) Pioneer thing... the main reason for buying it, was because it has sooooo many inputs, in the back. I needed something that could take everything.... all of the stuff below + the computer, the DVD player & anything else that I wanted to
use !!
Below the amp, there are 3 Cd units. The top one is playing now and holds 5 discs & is a Sony deck..... below that, there is a 4 deck Pioneer Cd deck. The 3 decks on the left are just normal Cd players - the 4th deck, on the right is a recorder...... I've had that one a very long time now - but, it's still useful (in it's own little ways)
Just below that, I have another Sony 2 disc player... the 2nd disc is a recorder - so... that's very handy, when I record stuff, for myself, from different places.... like the DVD player, or the computer, or the TV.... or the 4 cassette decks, which are on the bottom shelf.
Why do I have 4 cassette decks... well, they all record independently - so, in the "old days" when I used tapes much more than I do now, well, they are still great to use, even if it's only from time to time now.
So - that's what I use, to play & record stuff.... and, the main reason I forget what is playing next !! With so many decks, I can't always remember what is in which deck & hence.... well, sometimes there is a nice surprise, like the Mule Cd that is playing now - I don't remember putting it in the deck... but, it's still fun !!
Oh - I forgot..... for the time being, I've put the 'iPod' thing, that B gave me for Christmas, is beside me..... I'm going to use it, when I eventually get out in the garage, which should be in a while or so.
Why am I going out to the garage... well.... I'll explain all of that, later in the year, when I'm a little better & feel like doing more things. Not yet tho'...... onwards, for today, at least !!
Just staying with music..... I've been writing about albums & how some of them have had an effect on my life. Well - I've been thinking a bit, about 'Live At Leeds' by the Who.... to explain...
While I was at school (many, many Moon ago) I had to go into the hospital, just for a small surgery. At the time, for me, it was a big deal - but, after all that has gone on, over the last few years, it really was a small thing... but, I was kind of worried about it - mainly as it was all "new" to me !!
Anyhoo - to "help" me, I was playing The Who's album... it was live & "raw"... and, it was the last thing I played, before going into the hospital. Since then, when I've known I've was going in for surgery - it has become a bit of a"thing" for me, to play the album.... just for "old times" sake !!
Since then, the Lp has been sold... and now I have the Cd's of the concert... two or three (I'm not really sure) but anyways, the tracks on the Cd are:
1) Heaven & Hell
2) I Can't Explain
3) Fortune Teller
4) Tattoo
5) Young Man Blues
6) Substitute
7) Happy Jack
8) I'm A Boy
9) A Quick One While He's Away
10) Summertime Blues
11) Shakin' All Over
12) My Generation
13) Magic Bus
Now - I'm being lazy... because there is a second Cd - which contains all of the live performance of 'Tommy'.... which, going back to the old Lp, wasn't anywhere to be seen !! Infact - hardly any of the above mentioned tracks were on the Lp !! But - to me, that didn't matter !! As I explained to Sir J & Lady V, when they visited in the summer... I used to buy live albums, because it was - at that time - my only way to hear bands perform !!
So anyways - before going into the hospital, I played 'My Generation' & 'Magic Bus' (or side two of the old Lp) as loud as I could & then went off, into the hospital....... Now, well - it's still a great album.... so, being in the hospital, last week, I played it thru' the Mini Egg and it just brought the whole Lp thing back to my mind... oh well...
I was going to mention... There are a shed load of bands, playing at a holiday camp, about 15 miles from here - one of which is the fantastic Molly Hatchet. Unfortunately, you have to buy a "weekend" ticket, to see all of the bands perform, not just a one day thingy.... so, as that's way too expensive, I'm going to skip that !!
Plus - much to my surprise... when I called the place, about a ticket, I mentioned I was in a wheelchair & I was going to need access to the hall & stuff... well, the lady I spoke to, couldn't guarantee that I would be able to get into the place !! How crap is that !! Ok - I'm not going to go - but surely in 2014, the place should have wheelchair access ?! It's kind of crap really.... it stinks, it really does !!
Oh well.... my plans for today.
None at all !!
I'm going to have a quiet night & just chillax & do very little !! I do feel a lot better than I did - but, I'm not going to do too much.... mainly as I'm going back to the hospital tomorrow afternoon & I want to be on my best form, I don't want to go there feeling like crap !! Oh well...
For now tho' - I think I will be on my ways..... I've got a bit of tidying to do.... mainly as I want to use the printer & it's buried under a pile of junk at the moment !! I know it's under there - I just have to
find it !!
So - I thank you all for logging in & reading my words... I thank you for your time, especially you, over there in Russia - I hope you have a great night's sleep..... until next time...

A Social Worker & a bit of music...
Well "Hello" World's...
I hope your bit of the Universe is treating you well ?! It's another wet & horrid day, here in England...... it has been pouring down for most of the morning - it really has !! Now - well, it seems to have blown thru' for a while - hopefully a long while... give the ground a chance to dry up a bit - not like that's going to happen overnight !! It's way too wet for that.....
Anyways... it's another Monday, here in the homestead... and, so far. it's been a weird sort of day !! But - first, the family !!
As I type - apart from some of the cats... I'm home alone. Not that I'm too worried about that.... the ladies have just gone out, for a few hours, to visit ME's old workplace. As far as I know, they are returning some things, that ME wore, while she worked there.....
As explained, in earlier posts, ME changed jobs a short while ago & so.... the stuff - the uniforms - she wore there, at the old place, are no good to her anymore - hence the need to return them !! The new place is completely different... so, the uniforms are no longer any good to her !!
As for B... well, we were going out... into town... this afternoon, to a meeting with someone to do with the water company. I'm not sure if I've got that right - but, anyways - our meeting was at 3pm... but, a while ago, the 'phone rang & the meeting was called off.... mainly, as I understand it, because the person we were meeting is off sick. Nevermind....
I can't say I was overly bothered about going to the meeting..... so, it's worked out quite well, as far as I'm concerned at least !! Back to the family.....
As mentioned - ME has gone back to her old workplace & - as we no longer needed to go to the meeting - B has gone with her for the ride & to do the odd bit of shopping on the way home. All pretty good really !!
So - that's the girls... or ladies.... that just leaves J, our Son, who is over in Aberystwith - where according to the news reports & the odd bit of contact we've had with him, it has been very, very wet indeed !! Oh well - if you read these words J - keep dry & safe !!
I've just spoken to B... it's dry in town.... just a few miles away from here - which is kind of weird really !! Here it's blowing a gale - yet, 8 miles down the road, it's dry !! Very strange !!
Anyhoo - that's the family....
As for me... I've had a "hectic" (by my standards) morning, so far !!
At 9.30 - I had to be at the Dr's... to have another dressings change and, altho' it hurt quite a bit - it was very funny. To explain.... as best I can....
Last Friday, I had to go to the hospital, to see the guys, about the failed skin graft...... and, today, my local Dr. wanted to know how things went. So - the nurse (who does the dressings) called him in & he had a look at the wound. No big problem.... he then asked if a "student" - I think - could come in, to see how things had gone..... which, to be honest, I didn't mind.
So - I'm sat there, facing one way - with the nurse, doctor & student, behind me, talking about how things had gone. It's funny.... well, to me, because - thru' out the entire conversation, I didn't see them
once !! I'm looking one way & they are all behind me.... so, they could have been butt naked, as far as I was concerned - I never got to look at them...... hence, I found it (kind of) funny !! Oh well....
Back to Friday & the hospital visit, mentioned above....
I'm not sure what time I actually went to see the guy.... but, it was mid afternoon & - unfortunately - it looks like I'm going to have another surgery..... bummer !! Well - that's not exactly true..... I had hoped for at least one more operation, to replace a bit of "stuff" that was removed, just over a year ago.... But, on top of that surgery - it seems that I'm going to have an unexpected one, with the plastic surgeons.
I'm not 100% sure what the plan is - but, the two guys I saw, are going to talk it over, with their boss (I think) and get back to me..... at some point, as to what they are going to do. I had hoped, by now, that I would be past seeing the "plastic" guys - but, as the last graft failed - for what ever reason - they're going to have another try !!
I hope, God willing, that it will be all done by the end of May..... I know that might sound a long ways off - but, it was May 28th of last year, that I had the first operation - so, it would be great to get it all over & done with, by the end of May this year !! Oh well - I'll see how things go, I guess...... life goes on !!
So - anyways - that's why the local doctor wanted to see me, this morning.... not that he can do very much about it - it's not really his area & - to be honest - I don't really care two figs about what he thinks !!
Right - that was early this morning... then, at 11, I had a meeting with a Social Worker.... yep, a Social Worker !! "Why" ? - good question really.... mainly as we didn't achieve very much, in our one hour talk together. But - I didn't know who else to call..... to try & explain ....
B is my carer... she helps me with my day to day living. If she has a problem - she can call on her "support worker".... so, I wanted to know who I could call on, if I actually felt that I had a problem, that B couldn't help me with. To that end - to help me find out who I could call on... I asked a social worker to come around & answer a few questions.
It turns out, in the end of it all... if I need any help, I can - or should - go to my local doctor & he should be able to help me, by putting me in touch with who ever, he thinks, is my best form of "help". If nothing else - I've met another music lover & we had a good talk about the old bands, as opposed to the so called new "bands" that are put together, mainly for TV shows etc etc !!
In a nut shell, I knew I didn't need a "Social Worker" - but.... at least I got some idea on who to 'phone, if need be !! Besides - it was good to talk about music.... Ho-hum !!
Staying with music... at the moment, I'm listening to 'The Poet & The Pendulum' from Nightwish's 'Dark Passion Play' album..... which came out in 2007 - heck, that's a long time back !! Since then, they've lost Anette on vocals & released the 'Imaginaerum' album.... oh, also the live set 'Showtime - Storytime' !! "Wow" - things have moved on... and it feels like I've missed out on most of them !! Nevermind.....
I was, or have been, writing about albums that have had an effect on me, in one way or another. Over the weekend, I found one.... which, in many ways has moved taken me on quite a "hay ride" musically !!
We went to a record fair, locally & I picked up a Cd which - at the time - I thought was by Nightwish..... the guy who sold it to me, well... he wasn't too much help - all he knew was he wanted to sell it & I was interested in buying it from him !!
Anyhoo - it was a bootleg.... and I know, I keep telling you "don't buy bootlegs"... but, I was young & foolish at the time - so, I bought it.... it didn't cost much... but.... it was called 'Paris La Logo' and when I got it home, I realised it wasn't by Nightwish at all... but, by a - to me - unknown band called Within Temptation !! The tracks are:
1) Deceiver Of Fools
2) Ice Queen
3) Caged
4) Restless
5) Enter
6) The Dance
7) The Promise
8) Dark Wings
9) Our Farewell
10) Mother Earth
11) Deep Within
12) The Other Half
13) Ice Queen (Encore)
The sound quality wasn't that brilliant - but, since that day... well, I've bought every Within Temptation Cd I could find - even going as far as pre-ordering the new one, which is due out in a month or so !! If ever there was an album, that had an effect on me - it has to be this one !!
Oh well..... enough of music.... but.... Last night, I listened to Cd one of 'The Hobbit/The Lord Of The Rings' set, that B bought me, for Christmas. It's basically the books, being read thru' by a guy called Rob Inglis & - to be honest - I was surprised just how good it was !!
He altered his voice, to do each character & - it really was a good listen !! Mind you - I think there are 56 Cd's in the box.... so, it's going to take me a little while to go thru' them all !! Oh well.... moving on....
My plans for today.... well, none at all really !! I will probably head up stairs, for a little sleep.... but, apart from that - I've nothing too hectic to worry about !! I didn't sleep too well, last night, so.... it will be good, to catch up a little bit !! Sounds like a plan to me.....
I will be on my ways.... I thank you all for logging in & reading my words.... until next time..
Bye Bye
It's another Friday - here in England....... and, it's going to be an interesting day !! More of that later... first, the family !!
I'm home alone, at the moment... save for the 3 cats. There might be a 4th one hiding some place, but... I've not seen her anyplace !! With J away - with his friends - before returning to Uni... well, that leaves me here..... as I said, on my own - playing a Gov't Mule album....... and, that's who I'm going to list, today. I mentioned that I was going to write about albums that had an effect on me, and an album by the Mule.... well, I'll try & explain !!
Long term readers will know, that I have a "love" for Allman Brothers albums - especially their 'Instant Live' sets........ well, I knew that Warren Haynes (of the Allman's) had a side project, another band - who he played with - called Gov't Mule.... but, I couldn't get my head around their Cd's.... no matter how hard I tried !!
Then one day, B took me to a record fair & I found a 3 disc set, by the Mule, for £4.99....... so, as the money was right, I went for it - to say the least, it hit all the right buttons with me & since then, I've bought s further 10 or more albums by them !!

I'll write about more albums... as the year goes on.... especially ones that changed my life, in one way or another !! Moving on......
Oh - just one more "musically related" thing....... In the post, this morning, B's last Christmas pressy got here !! Finally - I had all but give up on the thing.... it had taken so long to get here !! I'll let you know what she thinks about it, the next time I write....
I mentioned earlier, that today is going to be an interesting day. Well - in a few hours, I have to go back to the hospital, to see the guys who did the plastic surgery on my back !! I only want to know 2 things -
(1) Why did the skin graft fail & (2) What do they plan on doing next.... after all, I still have a hole in my back, which hurts like hell..... and - I think - I should get some answers to the above questions !!
I'll let you know how I get on..... it's going to be interesting & that's for sure !! For now tho' - I must be on my ways... things to do & stuff....... so...... until next time...

Boogie-ing with Canned Heat.. Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
How is your part of the Universe treating you this very fine, wet & windy day ?! The first day of a new year & it's started just as the old year finished !! Oh well - nevermind........ it's England & it's January - of course it's going to be raining !!
Ok... I'm home alone, at the moment. B has just gone out, to fetch her Dad.... he is coming down, to spend "New Years Day" with us...... altho' I do fall out with him, from time to time, he's not a bad old fart really !! She should be home again, in about 2 hours - give or take.... I think she is doing a bit of grocery shopping, while she is out - so, that will delay her a while.
As for the rest of the "Clan".... well, J is on holiday, with some of his friends, before heading back to Uni, over in Aberystwith, I'm not 100% sure exactly when his new term starts.... but, as long as he is happy, that is all I can ask really !!
That just leaves ME.... my special little girl !! I'm not sure if she will thank me, for calling her that... but, I love her & she is "little" - so anyways.... As far as I know - she is at work at the moment..... doing an early shift. I didn't really see her, before she went.... or, if I did, I don't remember it !!
Oh well.... apart from the 4 cats... who are all in the house, sheltering from the rain..... that's about it, as far as the family goes !!
As for my good self... well, I'm not doing anything at all, apart from writing these words to you guys & listening to one of the most important albums, in my old life !! To explain.... or try to. I know I've told this story before, but.... I'll run thru' it again - for any "new" readers !!
In 1967 - I went back to school - and most of my class mates (well, the ones who liked music) were going on & on, about how they had bought The Beatles 'Sgt Pepper' album.... and I - quietly - mentioned I had bought the first Canned Heat album !!
At the time, I didn't know it was their first album - I'm still not sure if it actually was - neither did I know, from buying that old Lp, that I would go on to buy another 30+ albums by The 'Heat !! As I've mentioned before - I'm still listening to this album.... I've wondered if any of my old class mates are still playing 'Sgt Pepper' and, if they are, if they are enjoying it as much as I am, playing this Cd today !!
For me - it was a very important album.... it pointed me towards so many other bands, as my Cd collection can testify !! So - because it means sooooo much to me, I've decided to try & list albums, this year.... albums that have been important to me, in so many different ways, not only when I bought them - but, have become..... have meant something to me, over the years !!
So - as it's January 1st - I'm starting with this one.... it wasn't the first ever Lp that I owned, but it certainly has meant a lot to me... the tracks are:
1) Rollin' & Tumblin'
2) Bullfrog Blues
3) Evil Is Going On
4) Goin' Down Slow
5) Catfish Blues
6) Dust My Broom
7) Help Me
8) Big Road Blues
9) The Story Of My Life
10) The Road Song
11) Rich Woman
I want to give you some more tracks:
1) Evil Woman
2) My Crime
3) On The Road Again
4) World In A Jug
5) Turpentine Moan
6) Whiskey Headed Woman No. 2
7) Amphetamine Annie
8) An Owl Song
9) Marie Laveau
10) Fried Hockey Boogie
Those tracks are from 'Boogie With....' - Canned Heats second album, which I'm playing now, as I type !! One thing about these early albums, they really were not very long !!
The first album was really an eye opener to me... this second album, well - it really was a fantastic piece of vinyl !! It has the bands first big "hit" single 'On The Road Again' also, for me - at that time - one of the longest tracks I had, by any group... the 11 minute 'Fried Hockey Boogie' !! Right - I know, by today's standards - 11 minutes is far from being a "long" track.... but, it was when I bought this !!
Something I also really liked on this album, was the few tracks that Allan Wilson took lead vocals on... his voice was so distinct, so different... it really is a fine album !!
When I got up, this morning, I didn't even think I was going to post anything... let alone write about two albums from the 1960's !! To actually play both albums, back to back - well... that was a completely off the wall thought...... something I didn't even dream of !!
Going back to yesterday.... I had to go back to my local Dr's surgery. The wound in my back is "killing me" as the phrase goes !! No really... I didn't know what to do with myself - I couldn't sit, stand or walk, without it hurting like crazy - so, I went back to the Dr's...... and then, we had the "told you so" moment !!
When I came out of hospital - back in August, I was taking a shed load of morphine, just to keep the pain in check..... At the time, my local Dr decided - against what my Consultant recommended - to reduce the morphine, by about one third. I wasn't happy about that - as I really am in shed loads of pain with whats going on......
Anyhoo - last evening, my blessed Dr decided that I should go back, on the full dose (of morphine) - just like I was, when I left the hospital......... hence the I "told you so" moment !! If he had left my med's alone - I probably would of taken more of the stuff, as my Consultant wanted, to keep the pain in check... but, at least, it wouldn't have hurt so much !! Oh well.....
Right - what else am I doing today....... bugger all really !! Apart from B's Dad coming to visit, I don't have any plans at all.... it's going to be a lazy kind of day really !! Infact - I'm going to be really "lazy" and head back towards the bed... then, I will be a little more "with it" when the Father-In-Law gets here !!
So - as always... I thank you all for logging in & reading my words, I do appreciate the time you take to read my words.....so ....... until next time
Bye Bye

I thank you all for logging in & reading my words, I do appreciate the time you take to read my words.....so ....... until next time
Bye Bye
