Mr Spock & a brilliant concert !!

Well "Greetings" World's !!

How are your Universes treating you, this fine March day?! It's not too bad here, in the South-West of England.... blooming cold, but bright & Sunny - so, that's a bonus !! I hate the cold, but when it's wet, as well !! It just eats it's way into my old bones !!

Right - onwards !!

It's a Wednesday & too be perfectly honest, I don't know where to start !! It's been a while, since I posted anything - well, anything "normal" !! Heck - what is normal, anyway ?! Sooooo, I'll give a quick catch-up & go from there !!

About 10 days ago, I wasn't feeling too special & after a couple of visits, to have my dressings changed - plus, a few concerned comments from various nurses & my local Dr'..... well, I landed up, back in hospital !!

Unfortunately - it was the hospital, down in Exeter.... so, that meant I was pretty much on my own. B did come down, a goodly number of times.... but, it wasn't like being in a hospital, close to home, where we could see each other, everyday !! Nevermind..... I had most of what I needed, so - apart from missing the family, it was, sort of, Ok.

The first few days, I wasn't really "firing on all thrusters" - so, those days went by kind of slowly. I wasn't able to do very much, as I had various drips & med's stuck into me.... but, I had the Mini Egg & I was able to really listen to some albums, that over the months, I've kind of missed.

It was kind of brilliant tho' - having to lay, on my bed - in my own private room - and just blast music thru' my headphones !! More than once, I would put something on... only to wake up, a few hours later, listening to something completely different !!

I went, into the hospital, on the Monday - by the Friday night, I had the news that I really wanted to hear. After a few tests, the Consultant gave me the "all clear" on not having cancer !! That was a relief !!

I knew, on the day, after going into the hospital, that they had decided to do a few tests, to check it all over again.... but, I decided to keep B in the dark, about it. It was one thing, that I didn't want her to have to worry about, on top of everything else !!

Talking of My Wife & Dearest Friend... she has gone into town, to meet up with ME & to do some shopping. I've decided - to avoid the town, until I'm feeling a little stronger (not the right word) in myself. I still feel a little knackered....

Tomorrow night, if all goes to plan - I've booked a table, at a local pub & the 4 of us are going out for a meal. It's our wedding anniversary & I'm so grateful, to be home again - and I wanted to give B & the M & M's a little "thank you".... for everything they have done, over the past few weeks, running to & fro' the hospitals !! Hopefully, things will work out !!

I called ME up & asked if she would be interested on coming along, with partner M.... once she said "yes" - I got on the 'phone, to the pub & booked it all up. The plan was to keep it all a secret - but, I knew B was going out, to visit her Dad & Aunt, tomorrow, so - I had to kind of tell her, just incase she got back late, or had a big lunch... well, anything really !!

Sooooo - that's been my week & a bit !!

The infection, that I was taken into hospital with, has all but gone.... I'm pleased to say & I'm looking ahead, to tomorrow night & the weekend !! It record fair time again folks !!

Ok - I know, it means another trip to Exeter !! This time, however, we can have a bit of fun & look around the shops & stuff, as well as meeting up with old friends !! I will not have any cash, to spend on personal goodies, but.... it will just be good, to get out & about the City, instead of looking out out of a hospital window & watching it from there !!

Staying with music......

I have often thought, that there can not be anything "out there" - that will get to me & make me go "Wow !!" Once again - I have been shown, that there is still great music to be had, even if it's by someone, or a band, that I've listened to, for more than a few years. Once more - the Allman Brothers have been there, to lift my spirits !!

Just before going into the hospital, the band's last concert, reached me from Lady V & Sir J over in America, at 'Hittin' The Note'. I didn't really listen to it, until I was stuck in bed.... but, was it ever worth the wait !!

It is one of those all time concerts, one that lifts you up & brings you back down again - leaving you in the knowledge, that what you have just heard was something more than a little special !!

It's from the band's farewell concert, at the Beacon Theatre in New York & was recorded on October 28th 2014. It really is a brilliant bit of history - well, if you're a music fan, that is !! Buy yourself a copy & you will no doubt, never regret that you did...... it's really special !!

I've probably listed all of the tracks before - when it came, in the post... but, as I say - this was the first time, that I really heard it, when I was just laying on the bed. Brilliant !!

Ok - one other thing... Mr Spock died !! As a token - I named my last vac pump after him....... I had to have one, while I was in the hospital, sooooo - it seemed really fitting !!

I must go...... if anybody gets to read these words, I thank you for your time & for logging in... until next time...

Bye Bye
