Grateful Dead & Yes... Ho-hum...
Hi again World's !!
Is you bit of the Universe treating you well ? I really hope so.... it's a warm & dark Tuesday evening, here in England !! I didn't realise, that it was heading towards 5pm, until I looked across, at the TV !! I'm not really sure, where today has gone !!
Ok - that's a bit of a white lie.... I spent most of the morning, actually in bed. As with yesterday, I'm still fighting off my pain demons & after another sleepless night, I used this morning to catch up a bit.
First tho' the family !!
B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is heading out, in a short while, to go to her weight-watchers group. But, as I type, she is over to my left, doing some fabric cutting out. I'm not really sure, just how to word it... she is on the floor, cutting out these various shapes.... so, fabric cutting out !!
On Saturday, she is going to a craft fair... so, she is busy working on her final items, to take with her. I still don't think she has enough stuff, but it's her first time - sooooo, we'll see how things go !!
As for the rest of the family... well, we saw ME a couple of days ago.... and, when I see her or her partner, M, again... well, I have another little gift for him !! Nothing too special, but he might like it.....
Oh, I forgot - going back to yesterday morning.....
As I wrote, B took me down to the Dr's surgery, for another dressings change, followed by a trip into town. Well, before leaving the village, we called in to the local Post Office. To be more precise - B went into the P.O. & I sat in the car.
Anyhoo - this woman came down the hill & - simply put - drove her car, into the side of a parked car. She just didn't leave enough room and "bang" she hit the car !! If that wasn't bad enough - she reversed up a bit, to go around the parked car, to give it a bit more room..... only, when she drove forward again - she hit the parked car, for a 2nd time !!
I am a very firm believer, in making the older members of our population, take a driving test - to prove they can actually drive.... without hitting anything !! Yesterday was a case in point.... to hit a parked car once, is bad enough.... but, to hit it again, just a few minutes later... well !!
On a happier not - no one was injured & a bit of karma came & bit her on the butt, in as much as her car took a big chunk of damage...... much more than the car she hit !! Great stuff, but not so good really !!
Again, going back to yesterday... the Government lost a big vote, in The House Of Lords. I'm glad they did - it's good, once in a while, for the Government, to actually get knocked back a bit.... it stops them being to dictatorial !! Nevermind....
As for the music of the moment, I'm listening to & have been, for most of the last 3 hours, to the 35th anniversary concert, by Yes. I didn't really plan on listening to it - it was put into the Cd player & I just kept it playing, while I was sat here, writing these words & some other stuff, while I was busy.
The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Intro - Firebird Suite
2) Going For The One
3) Sweet Dreams
4) I've Seen All Good People
5) Mind Drive Pts 1 & 2
6) South Side Of The Sky
7) Turn Of The Century
8) My Eyes
9) Mind Drive Pt 3
10) Your's Is No Disgrace
CD 2
1) The Meeting (Piano Solo)
2) Long Distance Runaround
3) Wonderous Stories
4) Time Is Time
5) Roundabout
6) Show Me
7) Owner Of A Lonely Heart
8) Second Initial (Guitar Solo)
9) Rhythm Of Love
CD 3
1) And You & I
2) Ritual
3) Every Little Thing
4) Starship Trooper
It's not the best Yes live album - but, it's all music, sooooo.... !! I've enjoyed listening to it, again.... tho' - I still think it sounds too much like a bootleg, either deliberately or other wise !!
It will finish, in a minute.... then I will listening to a bit of The Grateful Dead !! It's Cd 3 - from the 5 Cd 'Soundtrack' album. The tracks are:
1) Weather Report Suite
2) Jam
3) Dark Star
4) Morning Dew
5) Not Fade Away
6) Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad
Ok - it's way different than the Yes stuff, I've been playing - but, it's all good.... besides, with B out of the house, I can turn the sound, down to deafening & enjoy myself !!
I have to be a bit careful.... I need to listen out for the 'phone. I gave in to the pain, a little earlier & called the Consultant, in the hospital. This pain has gone on, for far tooooooo long & I'm hoping he can change a few things around, to hep get rid of it all. As I said to the nurse yesterday - there is only sooooo much morphine I can take...... I need some kind of change around, maybe with my antibiotics or something, to get on top of it all !!
I hope he will have time to call me back, tonight.... I don't want to go into hospital, but if it comes down to that, well.... I will go with the flow & take it a day at a time. Time will tell, I guess.....
B says she will take me in, tonight.... but.... !!
Right, I best be on my ways & sort out a few things - mainly to put into my "hospital" bag.... just in case I need it. It really comes to something, when I have a bag, especially for hospital stays !! Nevermind...
I thank you all, for logging & reading my words... until next time...

Too much pain.... !!
Hi again World's !!
It's a bright & cheerful Monday, here in England's South-West.... did you know, that England was called "Middle Earth" back between 1000 & 1500 AD ?! A useless bit of trivia for you all..... maybe that's why the Hobbit's in 'Lord Of The Rings' spoke, in the most part, with South-West accents !! Who know - or to that point, who really
cares ?!
It's a Monday & your's truly is sat here, with My Wife & Dearest Friend, to my left doing a bit of cleaning..... not 100% sure why today, but I'm not going to get in the ways !! B is on a mission & I'm here typing...... sounds like the safest thing to do !!
I'm sat here, in a shed load of pain.... again !! To explain....
My Consultant, in hospital, knows I'm poorly.... and has told me, if I feel "unwell" to 'phone up & arrange to go into hospital. Now, that's not going to happen.... I hate staying in hospital & I'm not going to voluntarily slide my butt, into any bed, in any hospital !!
Sooooo - today, I go down to the Dr's & I'm told my blood infection levels have gone up to 228, on Friday (last week) & my local Dr still seems un-willing to send me into the bloody hospital, with his blessing. Infact - all I got today was, "lets see what today's blood count is" !!
My Consultant wants me in the hospital, if my levels are above 50..... I've not been that low, for well over a week !! If the Dr's say "go into hospital" - I can live with that.... but, as I'm feeling like crap & I'm taking my pain & depression, out on those around me..... well, I wish the medics would make a decision !! Bugger them all, that's what I say !! I just wish people would consider how poorly I feel !!
Oh well.... life goes on & is pretty good really !!
Once we finished with the Dr's - we headed towards town & did our usual bank visit & then onto the supermarket. Here's a little story for you.
We have 4 big supermarkets, only 3 if you clip the Co-Op out of the equation. Anyhoo - we tend to stick to the same one, each week...... we know their prices & where stuff actually is. On principle, I will not use ASDA, after one of there staff called me a "f++king idiot" !! the very last time I went there.
Sooooo - if I'm poorly, too poorly to push myself around, in my wheelchair, B uses a disabled trolley, which attaches to my chair & we go around like that.
Anyhoo - over the last few weeks, we've struggled to find any trolley's...... only to find, when we asked about it, that the shop only has 6 anyways & 4... yes 4 of them were taken away to be serviced !! How dumb is that.... 6 in total & they remove over half of them to be looked at, in one go !! Crazy... totally crazy.... oh well....
Right - that was this morning... we got home just in time, to watch the re-run of the American F1 Grand Prix....... I'm not a huge Hamilton fan - more JB for me !! - but, even with him winning the race and winning his 3rd World title, it was still one of the best races this year !! Great race... shame it finished the way it did.... we could of used a bit more suspense, by going into the next race, in Mexico.... oh well...
I've been looking at the Cd's.... Bryan Adams & Adele have new album's out. I'll get both, for B.... hopefully the Bryan Adams one will be better than the last one - it wasn't one of his best !!
As for the music of the moment, I'm listening - once again - to 'Ex_Machina'..... the movie s/t. It still has a hook in me & drags me back, almost everyday !! I did a track listing, a day or two back - sooooo check that out, to see all of the details.
But, for now, I must be on my ways........ I've got very little to do, but sit on the couch & watch TV. Once my pain eases away, I might do the odd thing.... but, I don't see that happening too soon. Oh well....
I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words... until next time...

Mountain & great music... Ho-hum..
Hi again everybody.....
I was just looking at my 'Stats' page - and I see I have a reader over in Russia again !! If you're the same reader, who has logged in before - I thank you for coming back again....... of course, if you're a new reader, I thank you for finding my words & taking the time, to read them.
Right - it's another Friday, here in England..... I didn't think it was too warm, earlier, when B took me down to the Dr's surgery - but, as I type, she is outside, washing the car & hoovering out the inside !!
I really wish, that we had a drive in, big, garage..... not the small one, that we have now. It's only big enough for a small car........ if, a big if, we had a bigger garage, B could do all of the 'car cleaning' stuff, in the warm !! Oh well...
She is outside & I'm indoors, writing these words to you. To be honest, after coming back from the Dr's, I went straight back to bed. Not sooooo much because I was tired - but, mainly because of the pain problems !!
There is only so much morphine I can take..... so, by going back to sleep, that means I get a couple of hours sleep. Sleep is probably the best pain relief I can give to myself. It really means that I get thru' an hour or 2, with out going "ouch" !!
As it's a Friday, I had to go down to the local surgery, for another dressings changed. It still hurts, everytime the nurses do their thing.... but, as we said today - after 2 years & X number of months, I'm getting very used to it all...... possibly too used to it all !!
As the nurse said, today... after the next surgery, she hopes that will fix everything & stop my visits !! Bless her & the rest of them, they've really worked hard, to try & keep the wound up to standard, or whatever you want to call it ?! It's not been easy for them - but.... !!
B has now back in the house, eating a salad thingy for her lunch.... Me, I've decided to skip solid food... for a day or 2 at least. Hopefully, it might help - besides, I don't feel too hungry, at the moment.
Going over to the music of the moment... Well - I'm playing a copy of Mama's Boys Knebworth 1985 concert. The whole day was brilliant, even tho' I wasn't actually there. The BBC did the whole thing (almost) on the radio.... sooooo - I managed to record everything they broadcast !!
Mama's Boys 'One Last Chance' is playing as I type.... complete with extended guitar solo. I'm not sure if it has ever been released officially - if it has, try & find yourself a copy.
I mentioned, that the BBC 'almost' did the whole thing, on the radio.... well, for reasons best known to themselves, the Scorpions refused to let their set be broadcast - or so I believe. It was a shame really. The headliners, Deep Purple, did let most of their concert get broadcast.... except for one track, I think. Oh well - happy days... kind of !!
The Cr has moved along now - with the mighty Mountain, blasting away their opening number. I've always loved them... a great band, you have to check out their albums !! I have several of their 'Official Bootlegs' - they're all not of the greatest quality, recording wise...... but !!
The Woodstock set, is not the greatest thing, to listen to - but, it's Woodstock.... one of the concerts, that brought them to everybody's attention. It's really good - especially, if you put it alongside, the official stuff !!
The one I want to write the tracks to, is the 'Canadian Festival Express' concert, from Toronto on June 28th 1970. Those tracks are:
1) Blood Of The Sun
2) Silver Paper
3) Hellhound On My Train
4) Guitar Solo - Dreams Of Milk & Honey
5) Stormy Monday
6) Mississippi Queen
I was playing The Festival Express DVD yesterday - unfortunately, Mountain were not on, doing anything on stage .... but it's still a great film !! If nothing else - give a listen to their live version of 'Stormy Monday' which you can find on either 'Over The Top' 2 Cd best of... or apparently... on their 'The Road Goes Ever On' live set. Unfortunately, my copy doesn't have it !! I think mine is straight off the Lp. Nevermind - give it a listen, if you can !!
Right - I must go.... things to do & to listen to !! Lots of music & stuff like that..... sooooo - I must thank you all, for logging in & reading my words. It's good to know you're there.... until next time...

'Live On Blueberry Hill' & other stuff...
Hi again everybody !!
A big "Hello" to my readers in Russia & America..... it's good to know you are all out there, in Internet space. Hopefully - one day - I'll write something worth reading... in the meantime, I'll do my best & keep writing my usual stuff !!
It's another Wednesday, in England.... and - guess what - it's raining again !! I mustn't moan really - we've had several "dry" days of late, so one bit of rain won't hurt. Anyways - that's outside....
Inside, it's warm & dry !! I've got the heating on & my ol' bones are just toasty enough to be comfortable. As I type, B is over to my left - doing some craft stuff..... she has made 3 bears, so far this week..... not bad really, about one a day !!
She has sent images of the bears, off to the people who supply the fake fur.... so far they've loved them & have posted them on their own web site. How cool is that ?! My Wife makes brilliant animals & things - it's great to actually get a bit of recognition for what she
does !!
As I type - we're half watching/listening to the 2nd Hobbit movie.... 'The Desolation Of Smaug'. At some point, I want to put the complete soundtrack, onto Cd.... sooooo - I'm listening to the movie, to see where the joins are & to work out how best to make the recording !!
"Why ?" Well.... good question !! I enjoy doing sound tracks, purely for my own fun & games. I've done the complete 'Lord Of The Rings' movie s/t's.... all 3 of them !! It took 12 Cd's - but, when I've been stuck in the hospital, it's great to just lie back & listen to the things, on the Mini Egg.
With that in mind - The Hobbit movies are the next step along the same road.... it has similar music & characters, sooooo, why not !!
My favourite s/t - well, that has to be the whole 'Apocalypse Now' movie. That came out really well & it was great to listen to, especially when the pain has been too great. It's all a bit of fun !! Besides - from the sound of the things - I might have to treat myself to the Blue-ray versions.... the DVD copies have too many joins !!
I might have mentioned this before...
We were given the M & M's "old" hoover. It had blocked up & they couldn't fix it. Well, after a couple of days of messing around with it, B has managed to free up the pipes & now it's back to working order. Great stuff....
As for the music... well, I'm playing the DVD's - so no music of the moment. I should be playing the 'Back To The Future' Cd's.... but, even if it's a special 'BTF' day I can't be bothered to dig them out, to give them a listen. Instead - I've played the first Zeppelin bootleg, that I ever bought.... 'Live On Blueberry Hill' !!
A brief history....
There had been a programme, on TV, which had several groups moaning about bootleg Lp's. At the time - living in the sticks - I had never heard a thing about them !! However, thank's to the TV, I suddenly discovered a whole new World of music.......
So - with money in pocket, I went up to London.... a whole 100+ miles away & went upstairs, to the original 'Virgin Records' store. There, I simply asked for "the Led Zeppelin bootleg" & walked out the door !! That was my first ever bootleg Lp & it has stayed with me, in one way or another, ever since....
The tracks are:
Side A
1) Immigrant Song
2) Heartbreaker
3) Dazed In Confused
Side B
1) What Is & What Should Never Be
2) Moby Dick
3) Communication Breakdown
Side C
1) Since I've Been Loving You
2) Thank You
3) Out On The Tiles
4) Blueberry Hill
Side D
1) Bring It On Home
2) Whole Lotta Love
I've listed the tracks from memory... so, if I've made a mistake - well, I'm sorry about that. As always, never buy bootlegs - by a bands official stuff !! There are several Zeppelin live albums on the market, sooooo - go & buy one of them !!
Right, I must away.... things to do & stuff like that. So, as always - I thank you for your time & for reading my words... until next time...
Bye Bye

Leonard Cohen & Hawkwind.... Ho-hum
Greetings World's !!
It's a bright & pleasant Tuesday evening, here in England's South-West corner..... and for a couple of hours, I'm home alone. My Wife & Dearest Friend - B - has gone out to her weight watcher type thingy..... we always have a little joke, about how much weight she has lost. Today she thinks, after her birthday celebrations, a week ago, she has put on a couple of pounds.... me, I think she has broken even. Time will tell, I guess !!
Anyhoo.... I'm home alone & the music is loud-ish. I'm actually using my headphones, for a change - I usually just play stuff, thru' the Bose - but, tonight I fancied a change !! I don't like using the things, when B is about......
I've already had one divorce, which was - according to my ex - included, in her petition to the courts, my use of headphones !! Shit - in Bermuda, you can get away with all kinds of crap !! Nevermind..... life goes on & on.....
So, that's the family... well, B & I. The M & M's have the day off, together.... and I know they had to go to the hospital earlier, so - I'm guessing means, they won't be over tonight. Bless them - as long as everything is Ok..... which I'm sure it is.
Going back, to yesterday.... B & I had a short talk about J - our Son. I tried to point out, that he has really over stepped the line, in his insults & stuff, which he has aimed at me. I'm not 100% sure, that she understands how I feel about all of this, but.... well, in a nut shell - I have my feelings & I'm past caring how J feels about me !! I'm too old & ugly to care about too much these days..... I really am !!
Anyways - that was yesterday.......
...... Today is a bit of a milestone. It's 5 weeks, to the day, that I have my surgery !! I know, I've said this before - but, this really could be my last surgery & hopefully, the one that fixes everything up !! No more pain - yep, like that's going to happen - and no more infections !!
I have no regrets, about going into all of this - from the first surgery, thru' to this (last) one...... it's not been a lot of fun, but at least the Dr's have tried their best, for me & the family. I'll just make sure, that I get over this one & head off into the future !! Who knows - maybe J will have a change of heart & come to the hospital, to visit his old & ugly old man.... wouldn't that be nice, he thinks sarcastically !!
Right... the music of the moment !!
I'm listening to a 3 Cd set from Leonard Cohen 'Live In Dublin'. I first heard of Mr Cohen, way back in 1970.... either on the Isle Of Wight album, that came out, about then..... but more likely on the 2 Lp set, from CBS called 'Fill Your Head With Rock' - I can't remember which.
Anyhoo.... this is a long Cd & the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Dance Me To The End Of Love
2) The Future
3) Bird On The Wire
4) Everybody Knows
5) Who By Fire
6) The Gypsy's Wife
7) Darkness
8) Amen
9) Come Healing
10) Lover Lover Lover
11) Anthem
Cd 2
1) Tower Of Song
2) Suzanne
3) Chelsea Hotel
4) Waiting For The Miracle
5) The Partisan
6) In My Secret Life
7) Alexandra Leaving
8) I'm Your Man
9) Recitation
10) Hallelujah
11) Take This Waltz
CD 3
1) So Long Marianne
2) Going Home
3) First We Take Manhattan
4) Famous Blue Raincoat
5) If It Be Your Will
6) Closing Time
7) I Tried To Leave You
8) Save The Last Dance For Me
As I said above, it's a long Cd..... too long to sit & listen to, in one sitting - sooooo, I've decided to put a bit of Hawkwind on, instead !! It's their first album (I think ?) simply called 'Hawkwind' and the tracks are:
1) Hurry On Sundown
2) The Reason Is ?
3) Be Yourself
4) Paranoia #1
5) Paranoia #2
6) Seeing It As You Really Are
7) Mirror Of Illusion
8) Bring It On Home
9) Hurry On Sundown (Single Version)
10) Kiss Of The Velvet Whip
11) Cymbaline
Tracks 8-11 are bonus thingy's...... in as much as they were not on the original Lp version of the disc. I used to have a copy of the thing - autographed by each of the band members. I also used to have a friend, who borrowed the said Lp.... never to return it !! People wonder, why I don't loan out my Cd's & things... well, once beaten etc etc.....
Right - I must away, for today at least.... As always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words, wherever you might be..... thank's - I appreciate your looking in & everything... until next time...

1 Month & 1 Week to go... Ho-hum
It's weird how the World turns.... well, I think so at least !! More of that later - first tho' - it's another Saturday, here in England's South-West corner. As I type, B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is out the front, mowing the lawn......
When we first moved here, I said - jokingly "the gardens are yours"...... meaning I would look after the inside of the house & she could look after the outside. Well - all these years later, I'm sat here, just wishing I could do the outside bits & bobs !!
Of course, we didn't know how things were going to turn out - all those years ago - but, if I could just move, with-out falling over..... well, that would be a bonus !! As it is - I'm sat here, with 200mg of morphine swilling around my body and I still feel like I'm being kicked to pieces, everytime I move a muscle !!
Oh well...... can you imagine, just how stoned I would be, if I wasn't used to such high doses of the stuff ?! Life is good & I am grateful for every minute The Lord gives me......
Anyhoo - B is outside & I hope the rest of the family - the M & M's are doing Ok...... I saw ME yesterday, or maybe the day before, after B & her came back from shopping. Bless her..... she has all these pink & white baby clothes, all ready for when our Grand Daughter makes her first appearance, next year !! I never dreamed I would still be around, to see a Grandchild..... now I can not wait !!
As for the music of the moment......
Well, I have just received a copy of 'Ex_Machina' on Cd !! Well - the soundtrack to the film, I should say...... it's well good !! If I had to liken it, to anything... I think I would go for some early Tangerine Dream albums. Not that that's a bad thing, it's well good - it really is !!
Plus, much to my surprise, I've got a bonus Cd along with it !! I didn't expect that one..... that brings the cost down to about £4.50 per Cd.... well good !! The tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Turing Test
2) Watching
3) Ava
4) Falling
5) I Am Become Death
6) Hacking/Cutting
7) The Test Worked
8) Skin
9) Out
10) Bunsen Burner
CD 2
1) The Lab
2) Masks
3) Ava Undresses #1
4) Session 2
5) Mary Experiment
6) Ava Turns To CCTV
7) Climbing The Waterfall
8) Ava Undresses #2
9) Reversing The Test
10) A Beginning
I'm only part ways thru' Cd one.... but, so far at least, I can relate the music, to the film...... that's a bonus !! I hate sound track albums, that don't mix & match things from the actual movie. Ok - I can't name one..... but, if it's worth anything, I know what I mean.
Right....
B 'phoned the Elders yesterday, to let them know I was too poorly for a visit today. I know I'm out of bed, but.... I don't really want visitors today - I really don't feel well enough, even if they are great lads. They can visit next time & if I feel well enough, we will have a laugh & joke..... bless them.
It's one month & one week, until I have my next surgery !! I'm due in on November 24th.... sooooo - it's a while to go yet. Oh I forgot......
My blood test of a week ago, showed my CRP level at 203..... The one I had, 2 days later, showed it down to 40 !! Go figure...... I did joke with the Dr. - as he took the blood sample, if he got it wrong & had contaminated the sample !! He took it as I meant it.... as a bit of a joke..... sooooo - we wait & see, what Monday's sample comes in like !!
I best be going.... things to do & stuff like that. I must catch up on a couple of outstanding e-mails.... I'm way behind now, but I hope everybody understands ?! I know most of you do - it's just that odd person, who thinks I should do more.... sorry folks, I'm sick, give me a break !!
Thank's to all of you who keep reading my words... either by choice, or by fluke - it's good to know you're out there..... until next time....

David Gilmour 'Rattle The Lock' Ho-hum....
Greetings World's !!
I hope you're all doing well, this fine October day ?! It's a little overcast today..... which has made it a little warmer. The last few bright days have been bright & chilly, sooooo we can't have it all I guess.
B took me into town, a few hours back..... mainly as I wanted some shelf stuff, from a shop which is in the middle of it's closing down sale. I kind of messed up there...... in as much as I was too late, most of what I wanted was already sold out !!
It was kind of weird - because half the shop was being stripped bare.... the staff were in the middle of taking everything down. The other part of the shop was, well.... some of the shelves were mixed up - with bits of everything on them, while other shelves were almost empty..... all very surreal !!
Nevermind - I didn't get everything I wanted.... just some uprights, but that's enough for now. The actual shelf holders, I can get at other places. True - they will be more expensive, but.... that's life.
Right - I mentioned My Wife & Dearest Friend..... who, at the moment is in Taunton, shopping with our our Daughter ME. She came over, a short while ago & the pair of them have gone walkabout !! I don't know how long they will be - but..... I have to be at the Dr's in a few hours, sooooo - they should be home by then !! Hope so at least !!
So - that just leaves me home alone...... apart from whichever cats might be in the house. I know the oldest one, is over to my left, but I don't know about the others. If they have any sense, they will be up on the bed someplace, snuggled into the blankets !!
As for the music of the moment....
Well, it's an older Dream Theater live set.... which I've probably listed a few times before. Anyhow... it's the 'Chaos In Motion 2007-2008' box set & the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Intro - Also Sprach Zarathustra
2) Constant Motion
3) Panic Attack
4) Blind Faith
5) Surrounded
Cd 2
1) The Dark Eternal Night
2) Keyboard Solo - Jordan Rudess
3) Lines In The Sand
4) Scarred
5) Forsaken
6) The Ministry Of Lost Souls
CD 3
1) Take The Time
2) In The Presence Of Enemies
3) Schmedley Wilcox
The very last track is a medley of stuff & clocks in at around the 21 minute mark...... not the longest track, on the collection, that's 'In The Presence Of Enemies' - which clocks in at 26 minutes !! I do like my long live tracks !!
Yesterday, I picked up a copy of the latest David Gilmour studio album 'Rattle That Lock'...... the tracks on that are:
1) 5am
2) Rattle That Lock
3) Faces Of Stone
4) A Boat Lies Waiting
5) Dancing Right In Front Of Me
6) In Any Tongue
7) Beauty
8) The Girl In The Yellow Dress
9) Today
10) And Then......
I can't really offer an opinion about it, yet - mainly as I've not played it at all. Ok - I played a couple of tracks, but I wasn't really listening to them, too hard. When Dream Theater ends, I'll give it a little go thru'.
I saw Mr Gilmour on TV, about a week or so ago & he played a couple tracks, from the album..... but, once again, I wasn't really listening !! I still have the recording, so - if it's any good, I'll put it over to Cd, at some point.... time will tell on that....
Going back 24 hours....
B & I went up to a new material/craft shop - she loved it !! The old phrase "kid in a sweet shop" came to mind.... she didn't know where to look, especially as, it seemed, everything she saw, she wanted !! It was Ok - it was her birthday gift, from me - sooooo, I don't care how much it cost, she was happy !!
It was a bit further, than we thought.... about 25 miles...... but, now we know where it is, we are sure to go again & again, I guess !!
Right - I better think about closing off, for now at least. As I mentioned above - in a couple of hours or so, I have to visit the Dr's again...... too much pain & only so much morphine to kill it all !!
I intend just sitting down & letting things rest up for a while..... it might help, tho' - as always, time will tell I guess....
Sooooo as always - I thank you for logging in & reading my words. Hopefully,. I will be back before the weekend, I'll have to see how things go & what we're doing in the meantime.... thank's anyhoo... until next time...
Bye Bye

Bye Bye

'Once In A Live Time' Dream Theater...
Well "Greetings" World's !!
It's a very bright, breezy & cold Tuesday - here in England's South-West corner...... it's well cold outside !! Luckily, for me, I'm spending the day here, in the house - with the heating on & the music well above deafening. I would say, up around the 15 mark - who needs 11 ?!
I'm home alone, for a few hours.... B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has gone over to the M & M's house, to meet up with ME & have a day of pampering. It's my Wife's birthday & ME has arrange a bit of a surprise for her........ via a salon & a bit of make up type stuff. Bless her !!
I've known for a while - but, I've kept it as secret... well........ I think I've said a few things, but only in fun. As B left, I told her to enjoy her "dance" - mainly as I've kind of, told her she's going line dancing !! Hopefully she'll be happy with my little deception.... after all, it's her birthday !!
I did give her breakfast in bed & stuff like that.... sooooo....... !!
Anyhoo - that's what B & ME are up to. I think she'll be back in about 4 hours - so, as I said above, I've got the heating on & I'm sat here with the music blasting around the homestead. Nothing in particular, just stuff as it comes to mind.
A little earlier, I played Zeppelin's re-union concert, from 2007, then I moved onto a bit of Therion & now I'm playing Dream Theater's 'Once In A Live Time' set, from 1998...... the tracks are:

A Change Of Seasons VII - The Crimson Sunset
I really like this live album & the DVD that goes along with it.... makes me smile everytime I hear 'Take The Time' & the way they go off into the guitar solo - sort of - end bit of 'Free Bird' !! Great stuff....
Right - as you might have guessed, I've not written anything since last Friday...... sorry about that. As I mentioned then, I landed up back in hospital, last week - for a short stop over - and then, on Friday, I saw my nurse, to get me dressings changed. At that time, horror, upon horror, my local Dr. took some blood from me !! I tell you - the way he did it, well - he could have a future plying darts !!
Anyhoo - I knew I wasn't firing on all thrusters, but it wasn't until yesterday - when I found out the results - that I knew just how poorly I actually was. It turned out, that my blood infection levels were up 10 times as high as they should have been !! Great stuff - at least I knew why I felt like crap !!
To put it into some kind of focus.... I was taken into hospital, just after my birthday, when my levels reached the 170 mark..... Friday, I was up over 200 !! As I say, at least now, I know why I felt so bad.....
So - I had another blood test yesterday & my Dr. is going to inform the Consultant, to tell him what a "naughty boy" I've been & we have to see what words of wisdom he comes up with..... he might 'phone tonight, to check up on me - he usually tells me off, at least once a week..... usually on a Tuesday.
Oh well..... as bad as all of that might sound, we did have one really good bit of news, on Saturday. In as much as, I have been given a date, to work towards, for my next surgery......
It's likely to be going ahead on Tuesday, 24th November. Sooooo - at least we now know, just when I might be going back under the knife..... even if it means a bit of pain & a stay away from home again.
Ok - it's going to be a bloody painful experience - but, the good news is, all being well, this might be the very last surgery I need to have !! Of course - I said the same type of thing, after the first surgery.... and probably all of the rest of them - but, 11 has a nice ring to it, sooooo.... lets hope it's 11th time a charm & we can put all of this behind us !!
If you read my post, from December 2012..... well, I had just come out of hospital then & I was sooooo over the Moon, because a man - who I now trust with my life - said he could fix my back & for the first time, in many, many, many years, I might be able to walk unaided again !! To have that hope.... followed by 3 years of disappointment... well, "such is life", as Mr Kelly said.....
Nevermind - the metal work, implanted in 2013 is coming out & life will go on & on. I do not regret the decision, to go ahead with the first surgery.... nor do I blame anyone, for all of the complications that have gone with it !! It's been a roller coaster of a ride & now it might just be coming to a beautiful end, with me being a jelly fish...... but, once I put my demons back into their box, I will get over this & move happily into 2014.
Right - the music of the moment is from U2's Boston June 6th 2001 concert.... 'Where The Streets Have No Name'.... and I guess I better think about closing this off, for today at least !! No - not yet....
I found another Zeppelin Knebworth bootleg..... it's from the 2nd show, on August 11th 1979 & to be blunt, I didn't realise I had the thing !! It was loitering on one of the many shelves I have around me & I was well pleased to find it !! The tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) Celebration Day
3) Black Dog
4) Nobody's Fault But Mine
5) Over The Hills & Far Away
6) Misty Mountain Hop
7) Since I've Been Loving You
8) No Quarter
9) Hot Dog
10) The Rain Song
CD 2
1) White Summer
2) Black Mountain Side
3) Kashmir
4) Trampled Underfoot
5) Sick Again
6) Achilles Last Stand
7) Guitar Solo
8) In The Evening
CD 3
1) Stairway To Heaven
2) Rock & Roll
3) Whole Lotta Love
4) Communication Breakdown
I wasn't at this show - but, by all accounts, it was a cold affair...... but, it was Led Zeppelin, doing their last ever live show, in the UK !! Give the guys a break !! We've had some really hot August nights - so when this was decided upon, it probably seemed like a great idea..... shame it wasn't !!
The 2 shows were a week apart & there were a few changes to the tracks played.... 'Ten Years Gone' was dropped & 'Communication Breakdown' was added at the end - I guess replacing 'Heartbreaker'. It depends on how you look at it !!
I'll give the thing a play in a while..... but, I think it's another soundboard recording - not really sure..... time will tell, I guess !! It's all good - plus, as I say - I forgot I had the thing..... if only I had a brain that worked !!
Right - now I'm going. My thank's to you all, for logging in & reading my words. I'm hoping to get back to writing a bit more often now.... but, that will depend on a lot of things, I guess. Whatever... take it it easy out there in the Internet Universe, which ever World you might be on..... until next time...

"3 Days After"..... just a little fun...
Greetings World's !!
After 3 days, I'm back !! Ok - I know that's not very long.... one of the blogs I read, well.... the lady who writes it has been away for a couple of months !! If I get that tardy, please shoot me !! Only joking !!
I last wrote, on Tuesday.... with great plans to write again on Wednesday & so on & so on. Unfortunately, I've been poorly again & I've had another ambulance trip into hospital...... bit of a bummer really - but, I was only in there, for a few hours, before being released on good behavior !!
Today, I met up with my local Dr. & we did a quick run thru' of the various questions he has to ask.... including one about being "dead or alive" !! I'm doing Ok... it's just another infection flare up - I hope - and once the pain goes away, I'll be fine. Of course, for the time being, the pain is - well.... a bloody pain !! But life will go on.... until the next hospital visit, at least.....
As for the family...
Well, B is a few feet to my left, doing a bit of crafting type of stuff..... an Angel of some description, I think. It looks good anyhow. She has been my rock, again, these past couple of days - looking after me, when I thought I didn't need it..... "looking after" I mean.
She came back from town, took one look at me & called for an ambulance.... oh well - as I say "my rock" !! Bless her....
She has just been across the road, to show a nice neighbour, a new picture.... a very special picture & some !! The M & M's gave it to us.... while I was in the hospital - it cheered me up no end, it really did. Plus now, we have some special news......
We can now, look forward to the birth of our first Grandchild.... and with thanks to the picture - we now know, it's a little girl !! ME had a scan, yesterday, and it shows the baby, in all her glory...... she is beautiful, she really is !!
They gave us a copy of the scan, with a little pink bow, at the top - our beautiful Grand Daughter !! I look forward to the day, when B can hold her & give her a cuddle, for the pair of us.... great news, really great news !!
Anyhoo - that's the family & our bit of special news....... onto the music of the moment - another special bit of "news"... well, it was at the time !!
For most of the afternoon, I've been listening to Zeppelin's Knebworth August 4th 1979. It was, for me & many others, just one of those "special" concerts & - to be honest - I never thought, on the night, that all these years later, I would be listening to it, over & over, in my own living room !!

'Alien' & other stuff... ho-hum.
So...
Here I am, once more...... sorry - a weak Marillion opening there. It's me again - soooooo "Greetings" World's !! I hope your corner of the Universe is treating you well, this fine day ? To be honest - I've been asleep, for most of it..... it's now 5pm & I'm just waking up !! Oh well....
I had to get up early-ish - to head down to the Dr's...... I decided yesterday afternoon, that the various pains & aches were getting a little too much for me, so - I bothered the local Dr. I just wanted some of his wisdom, to try & get some answers. You know... life, the Universe & stuff like that !! After coming home... I went back to bed & the next thing I know - it's about 1pm !!
No really.... back to the Dr's....
My blood work keeps coming back, with these "high" infection levels & I'm starting to get a little pissed off with it all. One good thing - my Dr. agrees with me - that I'm better off, at home, rather than stuck in a hospital bed, 10 miles or so, away from here !!
True - if things get too bad, I will land up, back in my home from home...... but..... not for a while at least. It's Ok - for the Consultant to keep saying "if you feel sick, come straight into the hospital".... but, I feel sick nearly everyday of the week - there has to be a point, where I'm better off, in one place or another !! Nevermind... I saw my GP - we talked & tomorrow.... well, I go back in for another dressings change - life is good, if somewhat dull !!
Moving away from the whole "dull" thing... and onto the family !!
As I type, I'm home alone.... B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has just gone out, to her weight-watchers club meeting. She'll be home, in a few hours......
Each week, we have a little guessing game, about how much weight she has lost. I'm going for about 3 pounds this week - tho' B disagrees with me !! We will see, just how things work out...... as I keep saying, time will tell !! So far, she is losing a bit each week, soooooo - that can't be all bad.
As for the rest of the family - well.... we saw ME over the weekend - apart from that, it's been really quiet !! As long as they're all happy, what more can I wish for ?!
I mentioned, that the Elders, came over on Saturday..... bless them. They helped us move a chest of drawers upstairs - that was a big help, as it was too awkward, for the 2 of us to move, on our own.
They also had a great deal of fun, "playing" on my stairlift thingy. One of them rode up & down on the thing, while the other filmed him..... when it was played back, it was all sped up - making him fly down the stairs.... really funny !!
When they left, they took a bundle of fresh backed cake & stuff - we have to keep them fed, after all, they are a long ways from home.... and fresh baked food !! As I say "bless them" !!
It was a General Conference, over the weekend.... unfortunately, our dish wasn't picking up any signals.... that was a bummer !! Luckily, I can watch it on the computer, so all is not lost...... I'll watch it at some point.
Moving onto the music of the moment.....
I was listening to the Marillion live set - mentioned yesterday - 'A Sunday Night'. Anyhoo - since then, I've moved on to a live tape, from the Allman Brothers - which, as far as I can make out, was recorded on July 31st 1992 in Utah, someplace. I don't know exactly where.... I only found the tape, by accident - as I was putting some other tapes away - soooooo - it's a bit of a bonus find really !!
I've got to work out the track listing, at some point, not tonight tho' !!
Tonight, I'm working my ways thru' the 'Alien' movies. I watched 'Prometheus' yesterday & today, well.... I'm working my ways thru' the other 4 films...... I've watched the 1st one already, this afternoon - now I'm onto the 2nd one.... all good gory fun !!
However, on a sad note...... I discovered that Dan O'Bannon - the guy behind the idea, for the 'Alien' thing, has died (a few years back) from complications, in the disease, that we both shared !! I didn't know he was dead - that's a big shame & a bit of a shock !!
I know, that we were told years ago - back in 2001 - that this disease will kill you.... both, it kind of hits home, when someone actually dies of it. Oh well... here's to you Mr O'Bannon - thank you for the films, from 'Dark Star' onwards, I guess ?!
Right, I best be on my ways, for now..... I want to watch the movie & I need to rest my back up a bit more. It has different ways of hurting, with each day that goes by.... nevermind !! Life goes on & on...
As always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Bye Bye

'A Sunday Night' and other mad hatter stuff !!
Greetings World's !!
I hope your bit of this massive Universe of ours is treating you right ?! I'm doing Ok, here in England's South-West corner.... I must admit, I've been a little tardy, not putting finger to keyboard, for the best part of a week - sorry about that. One thing has pushed out another & before I knew it, it's been 6 days !!
Anyhoo - it's another week & a wet & breezy Monday is upon us, again. I think, last week, was really warm & dry - today tho'... well, it's not so nice outside.
As for the family... B is here, with me.... doing a bit of this, that & the other, in the kitchen.
A little earlier, she took me down to the local Dr's to have my dressings changed - again !! More on that later...... From there, we headed into town, to put some cash in the bank and to pick up some groceries. Even tho' there are only the 2 of us, living here, we still have to top the foodstuffs up, almost 3 times a week..... I've not really worked out why - it just happens that way. Nevermind.... life goes on & on....
We came home, about an hour ago - had a quick drink & watched the news..... nothing too exciting, well... around here, that is. I guess there are various things, happening around the World, that don't have an effect on me..... but, that's beyond me, I'm afraid.
Oh - one thing that does have a little bit of "something" in our lives.... that is Jenson Button is driving for his current team next year. Big "Yippeeeee" on that one !! His driving in F1 next year makes a big difference, to us at least - as it means we have someone to cheer on, next season !!
He has not had a very good run, with a crap car under his butt, for the last couple of years...... give him a good car, like an old Brawn for example, then he is unstoppable !! Oh well.... roll on 2016 !! But, back to the here & now.....
As mentioned, I had to go back down, to the Dr's this morning, to have my blooming dressings changed again...... where would my life be, with-out a hole in my back, that needs tending to, 2 or 3 times a a week ?!
Anyways, being a Monday, I had my blood taken again, to check my infection levels. As it has turned out - the last 2 tests - well, lets just say 170+ & 140+ is not not the sort of answers we've been looking for !!
Last Thursday evening, my Consultant 'phoned, from the hospital, to check up on me - as he had seen the results.
I've probably said this before - but, he's happy, if my levels stay around the (below) 50 mark..... so, to have 2 tests come back, at the 150, kind of, mark..... well, he's not too happy about that !! Oh well - he keeps telling me, to go back, into hospital - if I feel unwell.... but, I've been feeling this way, for most of the last 12 months - why should I tell him, that I want to go back, into hospital ?! Time will tell, I guess..... I'm seeing my local GP, tomorrow morning..... soooooo - I'll see what he has to say !!
As for the music of the moment...
Well - I wrote a while ago, about some old tapes I recorded, when the ex-wife (small 'w') took off. Well - as I had a load of spare Cd's, I decided to make some disc copies of those tapes. So far, I've recorded 5 & a bit (of the tapes) and that has worked out, at around 7 Cd's...... so, I have a ways to go yet.
At this very moment, I'm listening to a small section of the Lp, from the TV movie 'Sunshine'....... I'm not going into that whole thingy - but, as I'm recording the tapes, at random, this Lp has just come on !! It's weird how things go around & then come back to bite you on the butt.....
If you're interested - you can read the 'Sunshine' thingy in a couple of posts, that I wrote a while ago. It's no biggy - just the ways things work out.....
An album, that I picked up, last week, is from 2014 & is Marillion's 'A Sunday Night'...... it's another 'live' album.... but, it's great to listen to. The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Gaza
2) Waiting To Happen
3) Lucky Man
4) This Strange Engine
5) Pour My Love
6) Neverland
7) Invisible Ink
CD 2
1) Montreal
2) Power
3) Sounds That Can't Be Made
4) The King Of Sunset Town
5) The Sky Above The Rain
6) Garden Party
A goodly number of the tracks are from the band's 'Sounds That Can't Be Made' album.... which I picked up a while ago & is really good.... try & give them both a listen !!
Right, I better think about going....
I was going to tell you about the Elders, who came around on Saturday & helped us out a bit.... but, I'll save that, for another post. They're both mad as hatters, but... in a good way... !!
For now, I will be away - B wants to do a bit of printing, so she needs the computer. As always, I thank you for your time - for logging in & reading my words. I hope you are all doing Ok, out there in Internet space... until next time...
