Well Hello There Worlds !!
It's a Friday here in England - the Sun is out, the sky is blue-ish & it's not too cold. It was a cold morning tho'... B had to get ME out of bed, for work this morning & she did not want to get up !! Oh well - ME has a couple of days off, from tomorrow - so, she can stay in bed, as long as she likes !!
As I type, B & J have gone into town, to dump a load of stuff... it's been sitting in our garage for what seems like forever & now it's on it's way to be recycled !!
"It" being old computer parts, a box of old videos & so many boxes, well - I've no idea where they all came from !! Someone will no doubt find a use for the stuff... most of it seems to find homes, once people go thru' what's there.... I guess that's the whole point of having a "recycling" centre !!
Anyhoo - with the family out of the house... I'm sat here like a plonker... with my headphones on, blasting Beethoven's 9th Symphony to death !! It's the one I wrote about, a week or 2 back.... Last night I put it over to Cd - from the DVD copy..... I prefer to play Cd's & so.... that's the music of the moment !! It seems to have come out pretty good..... more by luck than judgement on my part !!
I don't have any different Zeppelin concerts, to write about - having covered today's Cd's, yesterday. As we're coming into the Autumn, there will be plenty more.... so.....
I can't believe it's going to be September tomorrow !! Where has this year gone to ?! I'm not complaining - I'm just grateful to still be here typing these words to you all..... grateful that, once again, the Dr's have got it wrong & I'm able to smile about it !!
Sure - my day to day health has gone down hill over the last year.... but.... heck I'm still here !!
I think I wrote, yesterday, that B had gone to a carers meeting... Well, the lady, who is in charge, has suggested we get a ramp put in.... instead of the steps out front. That's a good idea - but, I'm not 100% sure that's what I want !!
The steps have become a problem, but..... rather than have a ramp put in, it would be easier to move to a different house altogether. As I'm not too keen on that solution, well.... I guess we'll leave things as they are, for now at least !!
Well, until the guys move out at least.... and I don't see that happening too soon, so we'll have to see how things go, over the coming months.
So - what else is new ?! I think Mitt Romney has been picked as the guy to fight President O'B later in the year.... good luck to all my American readers, with your election & everything !! My Romney was over here - in the country - a while back & I didn't see one thing about him on the news !! I would of thought - if he wanted press coverage, he would of stayed away... at least until the Olympics had finished !!
He upset a few people over on the mainland (the rest of Europe) by some of the things he said..... but, all politicians upset somebody at some point... and that's a fact !! Oh well...... good luck everybody !!
Last night, B baked a cake thingy..... nothing unusual in that, B is forever baking !! However, this cake has been "growing" over the last 10 days. It started off as a mixture, to which B added - or fed - more ingredients & as it got bigger & bigger, she separated it out & gave away 3 parts of it to friends - cooking what was left !!
If you know what an old English style bread pudding taste's like... it's like that, but with 2 apples in it, for extra flavour. all very strange, but - from the small bit I had - very, very good !!
Also - last night... I finally managed to "translate" all of the lyrics, from Mr Beet's 9th Symphony !! I'm pleased about that !! Having listened to the German version - the original - all of my life, to actually work out what the lyrics were.... well, pleased about that !!
Ok - so... I did look up some of them, but.... I'm still happy I managed to get them all... it only took me my entire life, I guess !! No - maybe not that long.... just a very long time !! Mrs Larkin, my old music teacher would be pleased with me.... to try & explain....
At school, our Religious Studies class, was above the music class... so, instead of learning about who said what & did unto who, in The Bible... I would be listening to the music coming up from below. In the end, Mr's L would let me have tapes of a load of the old Lp's she played. Not cassettes mind you - the old spool tapes !! Bless her - I never did finish her class - but, I did have a better understanding of classical music because of her !!
Just with The Bible.... "King of Kings" was on TV the other day & ME was, sort of, watching it. She seemed amazed that I knew the next bit of the film, or the words the actors were saying.... in the end I told her "I've read the book" and that seemed to make her smile !! I've probably said all of this before - if so.... sorry !!
As I wrote to Lady V, last night... if I had a brain, I would be dangerous... if I had a memory to go with that brain, they would lock me away !! Hi Lady V - I hope your day is going well !!
Right, my plans for today... as usual, none at all !! So - with nothing else to do & plenty of time to do it... I will be on my way. I thank you all for reading... until next time...

Led Zeppelin 3 - John Carter 1 Ho-hum...
Greetings Worlds !!
How has your bit of the Universe been treating you this past few
days ? I trust your World has been turning well & that the gravity has kept you where you wanted to be ?!
After a few days break, I'm back...... well, after a couple of days break, I'm back. I needed to rest up for a short while as my body seem to be giving up on me & I thought it best to hang back & let the Worlds go past me for a while !! Anyhoo - I'm here now.....
It's a Thursday morning - it's a little blowy outside, but the Sun is out & there is a blue sky above, so it ain't too bad really !! I won't be going anywhere today - so, the weather will pass me by I guess.
As I type, J is home here keeping an eye on me.... just incase I need any help, ME is working & won't be home until much later.... which leaves B... who has gone out to a carers meeting. A group of them get together once a month. They can have a talk & maybe a laugh about things..... luckily, it's held in one of the rooms, at the gym. So - if nobody shows up, B can go & do a bit of "gym stuff".
That just leaves me & the cats. I think at least 2 of them are upstairs asleep on our beds !! One - the oldest was there when I got up.... I didn't see him. until I pulled the sheets back & he was tucked in, cosy on the electric blanket !! They know are the best places to hide
away !!
Never mind.... the music of the moment is Within Temptation's 'The Unforgiven' Cd.... it came out last year & it has grown on me, more & more over the months !! I still like their 'live' albums - but, all being well - they will bring something out, from their latest tour. That would be good...... onwards !!
I've been thinking (very dangerous) about the e-mail.... which I think I mentioned before... that we had from our Bishop. In it, he asked our thoughts about the 2 of us going to Temple. Well - B & I had a talk & altho' we've not said a firm "No"... we did point out, that given we had been in the Church, as full members, for 5 years now, we had thought we would of gone (to Temple) 4 years ago !!
It's been something we had thought a great deal about, over the years - but, as we hadn't been allowed to go before, we thought we wouldn't be allowed to go now. It's all very complicated - but, in a sentence.... we think it's too late now. Oh well....... I'm sure, the next time we go to Church, something will be said, or sorted out. To use one of my favourite sayings "time will tell" !!
As it is - I would find it very hard to make the journey..... my health has gone downhill so much over the last year. it will all work out, I'm sure.... but, I think it's a little too late now !! I will let you know how things go.
Back to music.... I don't have any Zeppelin concerts, from August 30th.... but, I do have 3 from August 31st !! So - incase I don't get to post anything tomorrow - I've decided to list them today !! 3 concerts, from 3 different years - it shows how the set the list changed over the various American tours. Oh - I forgot !! Yesterday, I sat down & watched the movie 'John Carter' all the way thru'... it's not the World's greatest film & I think it "bombed" at the cinema, as far as ticket sales went... but, if you know the old Edgar Rice Burroughs' stories - well !!
It's billed - on the DVD - as "Star Wars For A New Generation".... I wouldn't go that far... but, if you want a bit of fun & have 2 hours to spare, check it out - it's a good laugh, if nothing else !!
I've just change the music - so, I've stayed with Within Temptation... but, gone back to their 'Black Symphony' live album. Now - that's a DVD you should go & watch !! Oh well....

400 & Murphy.... Ho-hum....
Greetings - For the 2nd time today !!
Why - you might ask - have I decided to post twice in one day ?! It's not the music of the moment - which happens to be Deep Purple's 'Machine Head' album - nor is it the fact that, as I sit here, Murphy is in our back garden playing imaginary fetch with J.
It's all to do with the fact that, for the first time - since I started this blog over 2 years ago - I have had over 400 pages read in one
month !! That is a record & I just wanted to share this historic occasion with you !!
When I started writing these pages, in March 2010... I would of been happy, just to have one reader... now, I'm up over 3000 !! It's amazing & I thank you all for your time & for logging in !! I thank
you !!
Ok - as for the family.... B is at her weight-watchers class, ME is working & then going over to her boyfriends for the night - as she has tomorrow off.... which, just leaves J.... who, as I said earlier, is outside, playing "fetch" with Murphy, our neighbours dog.
It's not really fetch... J is pretending to throw a ball & Murphy - who really does have fur for brains - runs up over the garden, trying to find what is not there !! The reason for this madness... well, someone has come over to view P's house & Murphy has been farmed out to us, during their visit.
P - our neighbour - is trying to sell the house & having a mad bear of a dog running around the place, might put any buyers off !! So - we've got him for a short while..... I don't mind - Murphy is a big bundle of madness & always welcome here !! Hopefully P will soon get a buyer - he wants to settle up - with his Wife & then move on with his life........ I don't blame him !!
Right... that's enough for tonight...... I thank you all for your time... until next time..

Peter Green & Deep Purple. 'Hold On' !!
Greetings Worlds !!
I'm back again !! After a few days feeling like death warmed up, I have decided it's time to start posting again. Ok - I know I wasn't away for very long, but.... as I usually write every day - having a couple days off, seems like a long time to me !!
As for what went wrong this time.... I don't really know. The Dr called on Friday & said I had caught some kind of infection & was giving me some more pills to take.... and that's about it really !! I spent the biggest part of the weekend, either in bed or very close to it.... never mind, life goes on !!
Hopefully the pills are starting to work now.... I am feeling a lot better, but still little poorly. But - I'll keep flapping my arms & head on until the next bug gets it's grip on me. Ho-hum !!
At the moment - I'm home alone !! ME is at work, J has taken Murphy for a walk & B has gone into town. As it's been a long, holiday weekend, we've sort of run out of food & stuff - so, she is heading into the bank, then over to the gym..... followed by a trip into a supermarket. She will be home in a few hours I guess - not sure when, exactly !!
As I'm on my own - the music is turned down to deafening....... at the moment, I'm playing an old Peter Green concert. It was recorded in Amsterdam, in 2009..... it's not too bad a recording really. I don't think I've ever played it before !! Oh well......
I have a Zeppelin concert, from August 28th 1970. It was recorded in Detroit & I would say it has to be one of the worse bootlegs I have in my collection !! It's only part of a show, but the tracks are:
1) Introduction
2) Immigrant Song
3) Heartbreaker
4) Dazed & Confused
5) Bring It On Home
5) That's The Way
That's all there is folks.... if there is a case of "don't buy bootlegs" - well, this Cd would be the best reason for it !! It's a really bad recording !! Oh well... more another time... but, as always - don't buy bootlegs !! Buy the official stuff instead !!
Because I was sick, over the weekend - we missed Church on Sunday..... I don't actually remember much about Sunday, I was well out of it !! ME had the day off, so she wanted to go shopping & B went with her, for the ride. I don't think they bought very much.... but, it was just a "girls ride out" type of thing !!
J has been away.... he got home last night & seems to have had a good time. It's good that he goes away now & again - rather than staying in his Hobbit Hole !! We fetched him from the train station, about 7ish last night.... there were no buses running at that time of night, so..... we couldn't make him walk home !!
Just changed the music - I'm now playing Deep Purple's 'Burn' & 'Stormbringer' albums on shuffle. I bought the 2 Cd's on one disc... so, I can put it in & let it shuffle it's way thru' the tracks !! Not too bad a listen !!
Just going back to Church..... we have to decide if we want to go to Temple. For people who know what I'm talking about, that might seem like a thing to even have to think about !! But - after 5 years of being in the Church, well - our Bishop has asked us if we would like to consider going.
In theory, we should of been allowed to go after the first year..... but, we weren't !! So - now, we have to think about it & decide if - after all this time - we want to make that jump to the next level !! I wish we could of gone earlier - when I was a lot healthier !! Now - I really am in a a bit of a quandary about the whole thing.
Sister T.... if you're reading this.... I sure could use your input !! Onwards.... B & I will have to work this thru' in our heads & see what we think afterwards. I'm sure The Lord will guide us..... onwards....
The Deep Purple Cd has just reached 'Hold On'..... I really love this track !! Back in 1976 - many moons ago - I put this track on a pack of 3 mix tapes I did..... and I've always remembered it for that reason !! It's not - by far - one of their best tracks..... but.... for me, it has a fond memory !!
Talking of "mix tapes" - 25 years ago, this very day, I recorded Colosseum's 'Lost Angeles' onto another tape..... yikes... it's scary the stuff I remember !! Mind you - it helps that - in 1987 - I made a list of what I was recording, at that time !! Oh well....... It was a musical diary & if you look thru' my old posts, you can read what I meant !!
The sad news of the weekend... well, there was a bunch of people killed in an accident, on a loch, up in Scotland.... young kids & adults. But - for people like me.... well, it was the death of Neil Armstrong that has grabbed the headlines.
Yep - I was one of those people who, as a youngster, stayed up all night, to watch the pictures of two blurs bouncing around on the Moon !!
I've talked over, this whole thing, with J before now..... I hope I can live long enough, to see them go back to the Moon. Not sooooo much, that I want to see 'man' go back there - but, mainly from the aspect of what type of craft they would use, to make the trip !! That would interest me.....
.... like going to Mars. Great, 'man' has gone to Mars... but, how will they get there & what sort of landing craft will they use ?! I don't think I will be here for that journey - but.... it would interest me.
Oh well.... I better be on my ways..... I forgot to get B to put my eye drops in this morning & now... well, the screen is definitely looking really weird !! So - I will go.... .... like going to Mars. Great, 'man' has gone to Mars... but, how will they get there & what sort of landing craft will they use ?! I don't think I will be here for that journey - but.... it would interest me.

Short & Sweet......
Greetings Worlds !!
Just a quick post today - I have had a really, really bad night & to be honest, I've got very little to write about today !!
B has just taken J to the train station, in town.... as I think I mentioned before, he is going away for the weekend. They left a bit late, so I hope he manages to get to his train on time !! ME is working again, today & won't be home until much later... tho' she is having tomorrow off, so she can catch up a bit then !!
Which leaves me here - on my own, listening to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band's 'Live' album of many moons ago. I actually forgot I had it - but, J has a copy of one of his tracks, upstairs & when I played that track, it reminded me about the album. It's always good to play "old stuff" now & again !!
I don't have any Zeppelin shows for today - so... I'll skip that bit !!
I don't really have any plans for today.... I did think about going into town with the guys - but, that wouldn't of been a great idea !! I need to head back to my bed I think - I have to get some more sleep !! Sorry this is sooooo short.... until next time...

Bye Bye + Bye Bye... oops !!
Greetings Worlds !!
How has your day been.... so far mine has been pretty good. B took me for a ride around earlier.... she needed some things in town & I went for the ride. The traffic was really bad - I'm guessing it was mostly holiday tourist.... either going home, after the school holidays... or maybe people who are just going this way for the long weekend. There were a lot of them tho'......
Talking of B - she has gone over the close, to the neighbour she helps out from time to time.... the neighbour is struggling at the moment, so B has gone over to help out, in any way she can. As for the rest of the family - ME is at work today, until 8pm & J is upstairs working on his computer.
Leaving me here, on my own, typing these words to you. The music of the moment is a cover album of the Rolling Stones 'Sticky fingers'. By cover album... it has all the tracks on it - just done by other people. It came free, with an old 'Mojo' magazine in January.... it's not too bad a listen.
I see on the news earlier, that Anders Breivik has been found guilty & sentenced to at least 21 years in jail. I am glad about that.... after shooting all those people in Norway, it's a wonder he didn't get a full life term !!
But - as I understand it - 21 years is the maximum sentence in Norway - but, I guess they might keep him in for longer....
I've just changed the music over... I'm now playing 'The Lord Of The Rings Symphony'. It's a live concert recording of a big portion of the film sound track..... I picked up a copy a while back & it's pretty good really. A bit of "easy listening" while I type these words......
I don't have any Zeppelin concerts from August 24th.... but, there will be more another time.
As it's a holiday weekend, J is heading off, on the train, to meet up with some of his old college mates. B is going to drive him in to the station - tomorrow morning - and I'm guessing, we'll pick him up on Monday, at some point. It's good that he keeps in contact with his old friends & meets up with them, every so often..... it gets him out of his 'hobbit Hole'.... if nothing else !!
I doubt if we'll be going too far, ourselves....... hopefully to Church on Sunday... but, beyond that, I don't think we have any other plans !!
I know B is baby sitting Murphy tomorrow.... P is going away for the day & we're just going to let him out a few times & give him his food etc etc. Murphy is a big bear of a dog... very friendly, but a big bundle of fur !!
It's a real shame.... now that P's Wife has left him... poor old Murphy gets left on his home, apart from the walks & stuff we give him, for most of the day. He is really the Wife's dog - but she has just dumped him & left P to pick up the bits !! I'm guessing Murphy misses the Wife - but.... there is only sooooo much we can do !!
I think P was hoping we would have the dog overnight.... but, I said "no" to that !! I'm not being mean - but, we don't mind looking after him, from day to day. But, it's not our problem really & if P wanted to go away, he should of thought about Murphy & arranged something... rather than relying on us to give him a bed for the
night !!
Oh well...... onwards...
Next Saturday is Exeter record fair - but, I know already, we wont be going down. It would be nice to go & meet up with some old friends, but I really don't think I'm going to be well enough to make the trip. This past few weeks have really been hard work... health wise & I would rather stay at home, then say I'm going down - that is, tell my friends I'll be there - and then not go there. This way, I won't be letting anybody down. maybe next time around.....
Ok - my plans for today...... I was going to have a little sleep... while B was out, but - as the lad is banging away on his drums, I'm not likely to get any joy there !! Fort Worth & the sound of distant drums !!
Greetings Worlds !!
It's wet Thursday evening here in England..... it's not too cold, just wet & miserable. Never mind - it's not been too bad a day..... B took me into town this morning & that was Ok - tho' I could of done with-out some of the crowds !! Oh well.... can't have everything !!
As for my Wife & dearest friend... she is in town, meeting up with ME - who is getting her hair cut. When they've finished, the 2 of them + M (ME's boyfriend) are all coming back here... with a take away - probably a KFC or something like that. I don't really mind what they get, as I won't be eating any of it !!
As for the other member of the family - J - he is upstairs.... as usual, keeping an eye on me, while B is out. It's no big deal - but, it is nice to know there is someone at home, if I need help. I'll try & keep out of mischief !!
As for me - I'm not having too bad a day. A few pains & aches - but, on the upside, I ordered some blank Cd's from a company.... that was yesterday morning... and they reached me at 10.45am this morning !! That's pretty good going !! They even sent me an e-mail, to say they would reach me between 10.40 & 11.40am this
morning !! So, the delivery guy was right on time.... can't be bad !!
Only a few years ago, I wouldn't of ordered anything thru' the internet... now, it just works out sooooo much cheaper, that I don't give it a second thought !! Oh well - even old idiots like me have to move with the times !!
The music of the moment is an old Marillion single....... I really seem to be playing their things a lot this week !! It must be just the ways things are, I guess - as I'm not seeking them out - they just seem to be playing when I post, at the moment !!
We were thinking about going into Taunton this morning.... but, we kind of gave up on that idea. ME went in & picked up a few things B needed, so that kind of saved us a trip..... I can live with-out going into the Cd shops - well, just for a little longer anyhow !!
I do have another Zeppelin concert, from August 23rd 1971....... I seem to have a lot of concerts from this '71 tour !! Anyhoo - this is part of a concert, recorded in Fort Worth, Texas... the tracks are:

The news has just come on the TV & they have found the body of the little boy, who went missing a few days ago. I'm glad they found him - it will, at least, give his Mum & Dad some form of closure. They are in our prayers.
Ok - my plans for tonight... probably sit back & watch a bit of TV with the family, when they all get back here from town..... I don't think I will be having too late a night. I tried to get a bit of sleep, this afternoon - I didn't have a brilliant night, last night - but, just as I started to "nod off"... the neighbour's Son ( a few doors away) started to bang on his drum kit.... so, that put an end to that !!
I actually don't mind it.... him practising on his drums... but, it is very interesting. The reason being, a year or 2 back, the neighbour made a big complaint, about the noise of their immediate neighbour - now, the shoe is on the other foot !! Never mind.... I honestly think it's good, that the kid is learning to play the drums.... but, it is a little ironic !! I suspect the sound of the drums can be heard quite a ways around the village - so, we'll have to see if there are any complaints made about it !! Time will tell !!

Walk Don't Run & other stuff.....
Well Hello There !!
It's another Wednesday, here in England & It's not been too bad a day - weather wise. As I type, the Sun is out & there are patches of blue sky, along side big puffy white clouds. I think it's heading towards rain tomorrow.... but, we will have to wait & see how it goes..
The music of the moment is the fantastic 'Refried Boogie' by Canned Heat..... it's on their 1968 'Living The Blues' album & it brings back a lot of old memories for me.
There was this old shop, in the town where I was (sort of) born..... it was run by this Husband & Wife - both of who seemed really old to me at the time !! Anyhoo - when I was a young teenager, I would go in there & order up singles & albums. In fact, it's fair to say - I spent nearly all of my money in that shop !!
I would go in there & order a Lp & the lady would let me put money aside, each week - until it was paid for. As she got to know me, more & more, she would let me bring the records home & I would go back each week & pay up what I owed !!
At the time, I guess, I was about 12 years old & had a part time job in a shop.... which was good, because it was right across the street from the record store !! So - I would work there, after school, in the week & on Saturdays...... when I got paid, I would go right over & pay off my debts !!
This album - 'Living The Blues' - was the first double Lp I ever bought..... and I remember, sitting in the shop, listening to it...... with a guy I vaguely new, but who like the same sort of music as me. After I had listened to it, she put it to one side & I paid for it over the following weeks !! That explains why I didn't have any money when I grew up - it all went into my record collection !! Ah - the memories !!

As for the family.... B is out at her gym class, ME is working until 8pm & will get home around 1 hour later, which leaves J here keeping an eye on me - to make sure I don't get into any trouble or problems.
J had to go into town earlier, so B drove him in & I went along for the ride. I didn't do anything - just stayed in the car, while they went off doing what they had to do !! No - I lie - I did go into one shop, as they had printer ink on offer & it was too good a chance to miss.
One thing of interest, from our trip..... while I was sat waiting for B, I got talking to another wheelchair user. He was getting back to his car & I asked him if he needed any help with his chair........ I'm not sure exactly what I could of done to help him, but... !!
We got talking & it was amazing how much we had in common. Both of us agreed how much people seem to misunderstand over our cash benefits - the ones we get from the state each week. Like myself, he gets really mad at people, who seem to think we get this fantastic amount of cash each week - or they think we get such a massive amount, that we're a bunch of scroungers !! By that, I mean - we get money for nothing.... As I said to him - we didn't choose to be this way, to get sick & need a wheelchair to get around.
Oh well.... it was good to meet someone I could talked to, who really is in the same position as myself !! I'll probably see him about, so at least I can say "Hi" the next time... maybe he'll remember me - if I'll remember him, well... me & my brain !!
I mentioned yesterday, about maybe going into Taunton... well, I think we'll be heading that way tomorrow. We didn't really have enough time today - so, I think tomorrow will be easier. B does have to be back here by mid-afternoon... but, that will still give us plenty of time to get in & have a look around !!
More than enough time to go & look in the couple of music shops - maybe see something of interest !! I will let you know what, if anything I come home with !! I shouldn't buy anything really !! Today, in the post, I had a 2 Cd set by Marillion arrive..... I seem to be playing a lot of their stuff over the last few days !! Anyhoo - the set that came today contained 2 of their albums..... 'Real to Reel' & 'Brief Encounter'. I had both of these before.. I actually still have the first one on a cassette.... and it was a way of replacing them on Cd.
I'll probably give the cassette to our friend.... he is a mad collector of all things by Marillion, so he might like it for his collection !! It's a pre-recorded thing.... so, as it still plays fine, he might enjoy having
it !!
So - the question must be... if it still plays, why replace it ?! Because I'm me & that's the only answer I've got !!

I was told that this was played, as a kind of tribute, to one of The Ventures band members, who (it seems) was spotted in the crowd. Not sure how true that story is - but, it makes for an interesting start to the concert !! As always, don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff !! More another time....
I've just seen a search & rescue helicopter..... it's out over the coast.... as yet, they still haven't found the body of the little boy. He got swept out to sea, from one of the local beaches & - I guess - they're still looking for his body. That kind of puts things into focus really......

It's great concert - starting off with the old Ventures tune 'Walk Don't Run'..... I was told that this was played, as a kind of tribute, to one of The Ventures band members, who (it seems) was spotted in the crowd. Not sure how true that story is - but, it makes for an interesting start to the concert !! As always, don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff !! More another time....
I've just seen a search & rescue helicopter..... it's out over the coast.... as yet, they still haven't found the body of the little boy. He got swept out to sea, from one of the local beaches & - I guess - they're still looking for his body. That kind of puts things into focus really......

Led Zeppelin + Wilfred & Marillion Again.
Greetings Worlds !!
It's another Tuesday here in old England - what ever that's meant to mean !! If this is "old" England - where is the new one ?! Never mind... life goes on & on......
As I type - B has gone into town.... to take in a gym class & do a little bit of shopping. Being a Tuesday, I get a little treat !! Every Tuesday, B buys the TV paper & a small bar of chocolate for yours truly.... it's something she started doing a while back & it's become a little bit of a tradition now. Plus - it means, if I get chocolate, it must be Tuesday !! It kind of helps me get a grip on which day of the week is really is !!
Oh well...... B is in town, J is here looking after me & ME has gone to work, after having a day off yesterday. I think she is working for 2 days now & then gets Thursday off - tho' I'm probably wrong !!
I mentioned yesterday, about a little boy who drowned.... well, up until a few minutes ago, they were still looking for the kids body !! The place where he fell into the sea, has a very strong under current & he was 'washed' out to sea, before anybody could get to him........ I really hope they find him soon. He was only 4 years old & on holiday in the area. Our prayers are with his family......
It kind of makes my day seem a little stupid really. Me sat here, typing these words to you & a family losing a Son.....
But - I will continue....
The music of the moment is by Marillion. They brought out some box sets a few years back - with all of their singles on them. So - rather than dig out all the Cd's... I think there are about 10 per box... I put them all together on a few Cd's. The reasoning being, that I've bought the box sets & it's easier for me to play 3 Cd's rather than 10... so, that's what I did. It's only for my own use really - so...... at the moment, I'm up to the various tracks that came out around the time of the 'Misplaced Childhood' album !!
I also found a Zeppelin concert, from August 21st...... I actually have 2 !! After not having any, for a while, I find 2 from the same date - just different years. So, what I'm going to do, is list both & then you - my readers - can see how they changes the set list, from one year to the next.
So, from August 21st 1970, I have a concert recorded in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The tracks are:

They're both great concerts - I guess the big difference between them, is the fact in 1970 they were playing tracks from their 3rd album & in 1971, they were using things from the 4th album.... it's all good & I'm glad to have them in my collection. I repeat what I say, every time, don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff instead !! More another time......
I was hoping the weather was going to brighten a bit this week.... it's still overcast, at the moment.... Tomorrow or Thursday, B & I might had off into Taunton. But, if it's raining - well, I don't want to get too wet, so we might leave it for a couple of days !! I actually don't want anything special - but, it would be "nice" to go & have a look around 2 of my favourite record stores !! I can always waste a bit of my time - especially if it's not too crowded - looking at Cd's & stuff !!
I know B needs a few things... so, we'll head out, if we can..... as I say, it depends on the weather & how I'm feeling on the day !! I was wondering why I was sooooo tired yesterday... then, I remembered, I had gone to Church on Sunday & that took a bit out of me !! Never mind - I'm glad we went.... it was a very "satisfying" trip !! Oh well.......
Onwards.... my plans for today...... well, as usual, none at all !! I might have a little sleep later, tho' - having thought about it, I'll probably find something to watch on TV & sit here, quietly watching that. That reminds me....
..... I'm not sure if I wrote about this, before... but, I've had season one of the brilliant 'Wilfred' reach me in the post !! If you have never seen this show - try & find a clip or something, on the net !! It really is one of the funniest shows I've seen in a long long time & to have the first season on DVD - well, that has to be a bonus !! Season 2 is being shown, on the BBC, at the moment... so, I can catch up with it.... but, I really love this show.... well good !! Tho' - with my memory, I've probably told you all this before....
So - with that little bit of excitement... I better be on my way, for today. I will be back another time, so I thank you for reading.... until next time..

Our "5th Birthday" & A Special Weekend
Greetings Worlds !!
It's another Monday, here in the wilds of England..... the sky is a little gloomy, overcast... but - it's quite warm outside. I had to go down the Dr's early this morning... hence, as I only had my jeans & t-shirt on, I can testify to the warmth today !!
My Dr - here in the village - was his usual tardy self with his surgery. My slot was 9am.... with one person before me, at 8.50am...... the Dr didn't even get there until after 9 !! So - he starts the day off late & just gets later & later as the morning goes on !! Oh well......
I have to 'phone in, at the end of the week.... to check up on the tests he ran this morning. It should be Ok - he has given me some more pills to take... extra to what I'm on anyways - so, things should get better. I'll see how things are....
As for the family.... B has gone into town, to do some shopping & take in a bit of gym time. J is upstairs - having just taken Murphy (the neighbour's dog) for a walk & ME is out with M (her boyfriend) & will be home some time later. She worked all weekend & is having today off.
So - that just leaves me... sat here typing these words & listening to a Marillion concert from London 1982. I don't think I've ever played it before... so far, so good !! It's an official release.... but, as I don't remember playing it before - I can't even remember when I got it !!
Never mind........ onwards !!
It's been a weird & wonderful weekend !! I've mentioned,
many times before, about being able to look out of the window & being able to see the beach in the distance. Well, as I wasn't feeling particularly brilliant on Friday night ( it might have been Saturday - I'm not sure)..... B drove me out to the beach, just to get some air.
However - the beach we went to.... well, it wasn't there any more !! The last time.... well... lets go back about 12 years or so.
When we first moved to this part of the World, we found this beach....... it was flat, windswept & had camels on it. Honestly - a guy used to give camel rides along the things, followed by a meal for the riders. Anyhoo - that was then...... Because of my being me - we didn't go out there for a while & after a couple of years, well - it became a bit of a mud flat..... not very nice at all. That was a few years back - now.... it's just a salt marsh !! The beach has gone & over the last 10 years, it has turned into a blooming mess !!
Ok - it's good for the wildlife.... but, it's such a shame..... I really liked that bit of the coast !! Now - we'll have to go some place else to enjoy the view..... it's a pity, but, give nature a chance & it will take over !! I couldn't believe how much it had changed !! Really weird !!
Anyhoo.... that was a day or 2 back...... yesterday, for the first time in a few weeks, I was well enough to go to Church. I was pleased about that - Ok, I know going to Church is not for everyone... but, for B & I... it has become a part of our lives, over the last few years.
Actually - it was 5 years ago, yesterday, that we were Confirmed as full members of the Church, so it was a very important Sunday to us.
I actually asked the Bishop, if I could stand & share my Testimony... and I'm glad to say, he said "Yes" !! Infact, he said I could have 45 minutes - I'm also glad to say, he was joking !!
After Sacrament, I was called forward & with B's help, I was able to stand by the mic & told of our journey. How, in 1986, I met 2 Missionaries & how 21 years later, we met up with Elder M - in town - and how he put us in touch with the Sisters. With their help & kindness, we eventually joined The Church & what it has meant to us......
I do moan about the Congregation.... but, at times like yesterday - well, it's all hard to put into words ?! I mentioned how glad I was to be there, for our "5th birthday" and how, some of the people who were baptised that year, no longer attend Church.... how we've lost Brother J & Sister M (M's Husband said a special thank you to me, for that)....also, how we had seen the little ones grow up & everything !! It was a very special time for, not just myself, but for B as well !! Tho' B had to help me, to get to the front & to stand..... she decided she wasn't going to say anything - leaving the words, from my mouth, to speak for both of us.
It was a moment I will treasure, for as long as The Lord decides to let me live...... Onwards !!
I've heard 2 bits of sad news this morning. ME - who has now come home - has told me a little boy has drowned, on another beach, near here. He was swept out to see & as yet, they've not found his body. I hope they will.... to give his parents an "ending", if nothing else !!
Also, on the news this morning, I saw that Tony Scott has killed himself !! For those who may not know of him, he is/was a really good film director (Brother of Ridley Scott) and I've always enjoyed his films. We have several DVD's by him here. My understanding is, that he jumped off a bridge..... our prayers & thoughts are with his family.
That's not the best news to start the week off with.....
I had hoped that sense would of prevailed in Russian & the ladies from Pussy Riot would of been given some sort of reduced
sentence !! Come on Mr P. - show a little kindness.... or, are you just going to be a jerk all of your life ?!
I thought Russia was getting better..... well, better than the time when I used to try & send Iron Maiden shirts out to my friend & had them returned, because Maiden were not "allowed" by the state !! Has Russia got better ?! Enquiring minds wish to know !!
As for Julian Assange & his little speech yesterday... or over the weekend.... I agree with the views he expressed - but if you have nothing to worry about, or if you're innocent - come on out & face the music !! Staying behind the doors of the embassy is not doing "the cause" any good at all.... whatever "the cause" might be !!
Ok - enough.... just free Pussy Riot.......... Ok ?!

Sorry it's short......
Greetings Worlds !!
How has day been so far ? Mine has been crap !! But, as it's Saturday & I've got all day to sleep, I decided to come down & write a few words.
As mentioned over the last couple of post, I've not been feeling too good & unfortunately, last night wasn't one of my best - so.... today I'm not firing on all cylinders !! Oh well..... hopefully this low spell will pass & I can get myself back on a proper course !!
As I type - J is here keeping an eye on me, ME has gone back to work, after her 3 days off & My Wife & Dearest Friend has gone into town to get some food & stuff. She was going to leave it today - but, she has to go out some times - she cannot spend her life in the
house !!
So - that's the family. The music of the moment is Saxon's old 'Denim & Leather' Cd... it came in the post this morning, re-mastered, with extra tracks & stuff......... sounds good so far !! Also - in the post - the first season of 'Wilfred' got here !! "Yippeeeeee" !! It's a great show & I'm really looking forward to seeing that !!
Either my computer is playing up - or I'm not able to do things right this morning... so, if this post is "messed up"... I'm sorry... it's must likely me, I can't focus to well today !!
Did you see, yesterday, that Pussy Riot have been locked up..!! Disgraceful !! So much for Russia's "New Era"........ Freedom of speech people.... come on, let them go !! Onwards !!

'Last Of A Dyin' Breed' & other stuff......
Hello Worlds !!
"So, here I am once more.... " Sorry - I couldn't resist !!
Short break later..... miss me ? No... !! To try & explain... as I started typing, I was playing Marillion's 'Clutching At Straws'... so, if you know anything of Marillion, the opening line ... well.... But, just after I started typing - the postman came & delivered the brand new Lynyrd Skynyrd Cd, 'Last Of A Dying Breed'.. so, I went & changed the music - in the short break - and now, it's Skynyrd's time to shake the house !!
So - anyhoo.... "Greetings" !! I hope your day is going well ? With the new arrival of this album, my day has really picked up !! I was feeling a little out of it... but, now... it's all good !!
So - that's the music of the moment... as for the family, J is upstairs & the ladies of the house have gone shopping.... not B's favourite thing in the Universe, but... ME wanted to go, so they went together. I've no idea when they will be back - but, as she went, B told me to take my 4pm pills if I needed them..... as it's now a little after 12 noon... well.... I'll see them when they get here !!
If my memory is correct, I didn't post yesterday. I can't really remember !! Over the last 3 nights (now) I have had a few problems..... and yesterday, I just sort of "gave up" and headed to bed really early... hence I didn't write anything last night !!
I had hoped last night would get things back on track - but, I was wrong. I've no real idea what is going wrong at the moment.... I know it's pain that is keeping me awake... but, it is not making much sense at the moment - why the pain is so bad & what have you !! Never mind..... I'm going down to see my Dr on Monday morning, so I can maybe get some answers then !! Usually, I have some clue as to what is going on - but, not this time !!

I made a comment, on another blog - about the band, a day or 2 back.... I didn't realise, at that time, I would be listening to the new album this week !! Ain't live grand !! The Cd came with a 131 page magazine - so, I'll be giving that a good read thru' later - Ok, I might only have one good eye now.... but, I can look at the pictures if nothing else !!
Ok... we had some great news yesterday. One of the kindest ladies in the World is coming over, in November (I think) from America, with her Husband. We can't wait to see you guys - so get here when you can & we can sit down & talk about the (nearly) 5 years, since we last met up !! Yesterday - the 16th - was a special day for us & to read that someone, who played such a big part in that time, is coming back - well, it's brilliant.... we really can't wait to see you
both !!
There was a strange "co-incidence" on TV this morning. I was watching the news, about Julian Assange being granted asylum & everything the UK Government is trying to do.... then I switched stations & there - on Star Trek Voyager - was the story about one of the Q wanting asylum !! Really weird - life & fiction all coming together..... very strange !! Oh well.... maybe I'm watching too much TV... or maybe the Government should realise what is going to happen, once JA reaches Sweden !! Never mind.....
Yesterday, the 'phone call I thought was coming on Wednesday, actually happened !! B got me up in plenty of time & I spent 45 minutes talking a very nice lady.... If all goes well, I will be getting another person to see me, to follow up from Dr L. I was quite "nervous" (wrong word) about seeing somebody else... but, the lady I spoke with yesterday, put my mind to rest on several things - so, I think it will all work out !! I will no doubt write about it later......
Right... I think that's about it for now..... Just a quick mention of a Zeppelin concert, that happened on August 17th 1969. I only have 2 tracks from it... but, they're pretty good. They are:
1) The Train Kept A Rollin'
2) I Can't Quit You
The concert was in Wallingford, Connecticut USA & it's been - well, these 2 tracks - have been out for a number of years now..... more another time - but, as I always say, don't buy bootlegs !!

Short break later..... miss me ? No... !! To try & explain... as I started typing, I was playing Marillion's 'Clutching At Straws'... so, if you know anything of Marillion, the opening line ... well.... But, just after I started typing - the postman came & delivered the brand new Lynyrd Skynyrd Cd, 'Last Of A Dying Breed'.. so, I went & changed the music - in the short break - and now, it's Skynyrd's time to shake the house !!
So - anyhoo.... "Greetings" !! I hope your day is going well ? With the new arrival of this album, my day has really picked up !! I was feeling a little out of it... but, now... it's all good !!
So - that's the music of the moment... as for the family, J is upstairs & the ladies of the house have gone shopping.... not B's favourite thing in the Universe, but... ME wanted to go, so they went together. I've no idea when they will be back - but, as she went, B told me to take my 4pm pills if I needed them..... as it's now a little after 12 noon... well.... I'll see them when they get here !!
If my memory is correct, I didn't post yesterday. I can't really remember !! Over the last 3 nights (now) I have had a few problems..... and yesterday, I just sort of "gave up" and headed to bed really early... hence I didn't write anything last night !!
I had hoped last night would get things back on track - but, I was wrong. I've no real idea what is going wrong at the moment.... I know it's pain that is keeping me awake... but, it is not making much sense at the moment - why the pain is so bad & what have you !! Never mind..... I'm going down to see my Dr on Monday morning, so I can maybe get some answers then !! Usually, I have some clue as to what is going on - but, not this time !!

Another Day... another mix up....
Hi Everybody !!
How is your bit of Internet space treating you ? After a really wet start, the day here has got better & warmer as it's gone along. I can just make out the beach in the distance - which looks nice & bright - but, I'll be staying here, in the house, for the rest of the night !!
B has just gone out to a gym class & will be home in just about 2 hours, give or take. J is home, to look after me, if need be & ME has had a day off from work & is over with M, at his folks place, in town. After several long days at work - she is really looking forward to this bit of down time.
Earlier - this morning - I went with B & J into town.... J had a meeting to attend & B had to go into the bank, so I went along for the ride. I didn't do very much really.... just rode along with her, as she did all that needed doing.
Long term readers will know, I'm not a great lover of "going out" - but, I didn't have much else to do today, so I went for the ride, more than anything !! Actually - to be honest - I got my days mixed up....
.... to explain. I knew I was having a 'phone call, at about 9.30 in the morning & - I thought - that was happening today !! So - I got up & came down stairs, all ready for the call - only to realise, I was a day early !!
I'm expecting a lady to call, as a follow up to my being "discharged" by Dr L... one of my Consultants. It wasn't until I was here, waiting for the call, that I read the letter again & realised my mistake !!
Oops !!
So - tomorrow, if all goes well... at about 9.30am... the 'phone should ring & I will be back on track again - well, as near to being "back on track" as I'm ever likely to be !!
Never mind - I did think it odd, that B wasn't here to get me up, in time for the call.... she was walking Murphy & had left me to sleep - mainly as I hadn't had a very good night !! Oh well, I'll get it right one day... just not today !!
I really needed to sleep in tho'.... I was having problems last night & I couldn't go to sleep !! I don't know really why - I just had a bad few hours.... which is Ok, except - as I haven't slept all day, today, I am really knackered now !! The "upside" is tho'... being so tired now, I should really sleep well later !! I will have to wait & see how things go, I guess.....
The music of the moment is a Dio concert - which I think was recorded in London, sometime during the '80's I don't know the exact date - but, it's really good. One for the collection & that's for sure !!
Talking of collections.... I have another Zeppelin concert, from August 15th 1970. It was recorded at the Yale Bowl, in New Haven, US of A & the tracks are:

Knebworth 11-8-79... 3 Days After.. Ho-hum.
Well Hello Worlds !!
It's another Tuesday here in England - thankfully, it's a little cooler today... the heat & humidity was getting to me a bit !! We did land up having a monster thunder storm... which cleared the air - but, it soon got back to it's heat & muggy ways.
Never mind... life has a way of going on.
As mentioned yesterday... I had to go back to the hospital. I more or less got away with-out too many problems. My Consultant has changed my pills a bit, which she hopes will help & - unfortunately - I have to go back in for a very small surgery type thing. That won't be for a month or two & I should be home the same day... so, no big deal really !! I've had worse done - so, this next thing won't be a problem !!
What I do like about this particular Consultant - she holds an evening clinic.... So, there is little or no waiting around. Like last night - my appointment was for 6pm & I was on my way home by 6.45 !! Well, good !!
Add to that - she is really really good !! Some of my Dr's over the years have been so "stuck up".. well, the ones I have now are really brilliant !! It probably helps I've seen them so often... we've got a good relationship going between us & that really helps.
Ok - that was last night.... as for today.
J is upstairs - keeping an eye on me..... I won't give him too many problems to deal with !! ME is out at work - another long day - but, on the upside, she - after today - gets 3 clear days off.... so, she can have a little recharge of the batteries !!
As for B - she has headed into the gym, for her lunchtime class. She will be home in a few hours... tho', I'm under strict instructions to 'phone her.. if I get sick or anything !! Bless her - even on a day out, she still makes sure I'm Ok !!
They - B & ME - were really tired after their trip to Bristol on Saturday.... having got home after midnight. So they really had a long - but very enjoyable day !! They didn't see any of the bigger balloons, because it was too windy - but, they enjoyed the "night glow" thing. So - that was good......
As I wrote yesterday - I was too sick to go to Church on Sunday... but, if all goes well, we'll be there on Sunday. It's going to be a very special day for the 2 of us - so, I hope we'll be able to go !!
Going back to Saturday... I missed a Zeppelin concert !! I was sooooo into moving all the tapes & Cd's about, that I forgot what day it was !! So - from August 11th 1979... 3 days late.... I have their last British concert. It was held at Knebworth & - altho' it was the same location as the previous week - I think it's a little... well, not so good as the previous week. The tracks are:

The Cd's I've taken the tracks from are all from a great soundboard recording.... but, there are several recordings out & about. One of which has the date as November 11th 1979 !! I tell, don't buy bootlegs - there are some really bad recordings on the market.... so, just buy the official stuff !! More another time...
Here in front of me - I have the letter from ASDA head office. It's very interesting, because, altho' they don't say the car park attendant swore at me, they obviously believe he did - by all the new codes they have introduced at the local store !!
At least, I've not been held up as the villain of the peace... so, that's good !! Mind you - we still won't be shopping at this ASDA again !! I want a written apology before that will happen !! As that will depend on the time & weather..... known as "when hell freezes over"... well - there are other stores we can use !!
If nothing else - by using the other stores in town... we're getting a different variety of stuff. So, that's a bit of a bonus !! Onwards....
The music of the moment... as I've been typing... have been the old Iron Maiden live album 'Live After Death'. I think that is what it's called anyhoo - I can't see the case at the moment, to actually check the thing !!
I saw the band on this tour, so it was a good record of the show they did...... I was really surprised how good they were in concert !! I expected a lot less & came home really surprised by the whole
thing !! Oh well....
My plans for today....
Well, I still have a bunch of Cd's to find a home for, after mucking about on Saturday.... so, I better try & do those as soon as I can..... B might not appreciate seeing them stuck all about the place - well, not for much longer at least !!

Little Red Rooster......... Ho-hum
Greetings Worlds...
A Big "Hello" to my reader in Russia, who is logged in as I write.... thank you for your time. I hope all of your World are treating you
well !!
I wasn't going to write this morning - after all, I have to go back to the hospital in a couple of hours... so.. I thought I would wait until then, but...
I had a letter from ASDA this morning, from their head office. At last - they have taken what I've told them & not treated me like the idiot I was classed as by the car park attendant !! Unfortunately - they can't do much, as the guy will not admit to his miss-deeds, but at least it's not been blamed on me !! Thank you ASDA - you do have a spark of goodness in you !!
Oh well... I will have to decide what to do next....
The second thing that has happened today.... well, I've revisited my past & been reminded of things that happened many years ago. The "downside" is - it's dragged up too many memories. The "upside" is - I've really appreciated everything I've got now !!
My family !!
J is upstairs, ME is at work & B has gone into town, to do a bit of shopping, take in a gym class & go to the bank. I've stayed home - mainly to get a little relaxed for the hospital...... I am not looking forward to going back in - but, it has to be done... so, what the

A very warm day & lots of old music !!
Greetings Worlds !!
How has your day been ? Mine has been a little hectic & - very - warm.... but, I'm having 30 minutes of "down time" now.. to try & catch by self, before I go completely mad !!
To explain.... or at least try to.... a while back, I bought this set of shelves - a sort of plastic thingy, with 3 big shelf units in it. The idea being, to try & put away a load of cassettes that were just collecting dust & not being used, played or what have you. Anyhoo - I used that set up & it worked really well - I think it held about 400 tapes in total...... so, I told B, at some point, I would get another one... another set.. and put away another load of tapes.
Well, this morning - just after 9 - we went into town, to do a bit of food shopping & while we were there, B bought another set for me. I wasn't really expecting to get one, well - not yet at least - but, now we have & I've spent the biggest part of the day sorting out tapes & re-arranging the Cd's. It has taken me several hours - I didn't realise what I was letting myself in for !!
Not only did I have to decide which tapes to put away, but... after all of that, I had to put the Cd's back into the space left vacant.... it seemed to take forever, it really did !!
What I didn't count on, was the fact that I had to move the Cd's around, before I could put the units in their final resting place.... the problem being, once the shelves were put back, I couldn't get around them, to put the Cd's in place !! If I had thought it thru'... before I started.. I probably wouldn't of tried to do it today - but, having no brain to talk of, I started & - therefore - I had to finish.... or, leave a great pile of Cd's all over the room !!
Oh well, it hasn't helped that it has been really hot today, mega
warm !! Never mind - I've sort of finished now. I've just got about 100 Cd's to find a home for & it will be done. At least, on the flip side of all of today's efforts... I have a load more space to stack the Cd's !! That's good - they were starting to get on top of each other !!
So - that's been my day really.....
As for the rest of the family... J is here cooking some supper & the ladies of the house are in Bristol, watching the balloon fiesta. I spoke to B a short while ago & they were heading back towards the car - to off load some bit & bobs.... after that, they were going to try & find something to eat !! Knowing my Daughter - she will find some chips or a burger... bless her !!
J & I have just gone outside, to take in the stuff on the washing lines... it's gone incredibly dark out side !! It might turn to rain, the clouds are rolling in.... we will have to see how things go, I guess.
As the ladies won't be home until about midnight, it's unlikely I'll see them until the morning. By "see them" - well, I'll know B is home... but if I'm awake enough to say "Hello" is another thing altogether !! As it is - I don't think we will be going to Church, tomorrow... well, not unless B wakes up early enough to get me ready & everything !!
I told her earlier, that I didn't expect to be going... so, she knows not to "worry" about getting up & what have you !! As long as we go next weekend... August 19th... I don't mind !!

At the moment, I'm listening to Deep Purple's Tokyo concert, from December 15th 1975.... it came out officially some years back & - to be honest - it's not one of my favourite shows by them. However - it does have Tommy Bolin's 'Wild Dogs' on the first disc.
If you don't know it, it's on his solo album 'Teaser'.... it's out on like a re-mastered Cd, as well as in it's original format. If you get chance, give it a listen - I've always liked it....

How has your day been ? Mine has been a little hectic & - very - warm.... but, I'm having 30 minutes of "down time" now.. to try & catch by self, before I go completely mad !!
To explain.... or at least try to.... a while back, I bought this set of shelves - a sort of plastic thingy, with 3 big shelf units in it. A Warm Day In England....
Well Hello There World's !!
How is your bit of Internet Space treating you today ? It's a very warm & bright summer day, here in our part of England..... as I type, B & J are outside in the garden, making the best of the dry weather. I don't blame them - by the start of next week, I suspect we'll be back into another wet season !!
Thinking about it - hard for me... thinking and what have you ... the Olympics have been very lucky, with the weather. Usually it's pouring down - but, this past week - it's not been so bad !!
Right - as mentioned, B & J are here... ME is at work, again, today... but she's getting the weekend off, so I'm sure she is looking forward to that. If all goes well - she is taking B up to Bristol, to see the balloon thingy. Once a year, they get a mad bunch of balloons together & do night glows (to music) & mass take off's - if the weather allows it !! Sometimes it's just too windy.... but, the forecast is pretty good for the weekend, so....
They've asked J if he wants to go... but, he's still thinking about it. I'll let you know hoe they get on !!
So - that's the family - the music of the moment is an old tape... which, as I type, is playing Jefferson Airplane. I'm not sure exactly why... as I wasn't expecting it... oh well, the joys of old tapes !!
I finished playing the Iron Maiden Cd... which I picked up yesterday. It's not one of their best 'live' albums - well, I don't think so... but, being an old fart, I prefer their earlier albums anyways !! It's worth having in the collection - so, I won't moan.
I forgot to mention - while we were in town yesterday, we went into the library. They often have old books & - some times - old Cd's for sale. Much to my surprise, B picked me up a copy of the BBC's 1967 'War Of The Worlds' radio play. I didn't know they did one - but, to find it on Cd... plus it only cost 50p - that's got to be well good !! I played a bit of it yesterday - but, it's going to take a while to go thru' it all - it seems to be at least 3 hours long !!
I have to say a big "Happy Birthday" to Sister T !! 21 years old

Right - I don't have any Zeppelin concerts, from today.... tho' I'm going to cheat a bit. The band played a one hour set, for the BBC in June of 1969... and on August 10th, it was re-broadcast... on John Peel's Top Gear show. The tracks were/are:
1) Communication Breakdown
2) I Can't Quit You
3) Dazed & Confused
4) White Summer - Black Mountain Side
5) You Shook Me
6) How Many More Times
Along with the BBC 1971 in concert, this recording has been bootlegged sooooo many times. Sometimes together - to give the appearance of a much longer/different recording. It's out on Lp - Cd... and officially on the Zeppelin 'Sessions' album... that came out quite a few years ago now. So, you don't need to buy the bootleg, you can buy the official release instead !! More another time.....
Ok - my plans for today..... I think I'm going to have a little tidy up & listen to more cassettes, plus - I think - there might be some BMX racing on, so... I'll probably see how the British pair do in that. So, until next time...

Another quiet day.... + Iron Maiden
Greetings !!
Here is a teaser for you !! What chance do I have of waking up the owner of a brand new Mercedes ? None at all, really - come on, be reasonable !!
But - today, I filled out an "on-line" question thingy, put out by the Mercedes F1 team.... and as I get their newsletter every month or so, I thought "Why not ?".... At the time - I thought it was just a bunch of hooey, but - after I had mailed it back - it seems I'm in the draw for a new Merc !! So - I'm thinking... will I get a new car out of this, or maybe one the "consolation prizes" of a new sports hat ? No - I'm like the rest of you - I will land up with zip & be happy for it !!
So - being happy with my lot.... I'm back again. It's been a very warm day, out-side & as I type, the Sun is still bright, altho' the sky is no longer blue.... just a mass of white clouds. It's still pretty warm tho'...
B took me into town earlier.... which is not something I really
enjoyed !! But - it made the Wife happy, to get me out of the house for a short while.
We did the usual stuff - pay bills, go into the supermarket (not ASDA) and that sort of stuff. I shouldn't moan too much, I did come home with 'En Vivo !' the latest in a (very) long line of Iron Maided 'live' albums !! That's the music of the moment - I'm only on track 2... so, at the moment, I'll with-hold any form of "good or bad" type of stuff....
So - that's the music..... as for the family... J is behind me, washing his supper dishes, ME is at work - until about 8pm - and B has gone back into town, to get some stuff from a hardware store & take in a gym class. She should be home in an hour or 2, I guess.
In the mean time - I'll blast the music out of the Bose & enjoy the quiet of the night.... Ho-hum !!
It's been a very quiet sort of day really.... After we got home from town, I stayed in the house & chilled out, watching some TV & B went out to the garden, to try & attack the weeds that have grown over the last couple of months, during our last rainy season !!
I did have to go down to the Dr's - about 5 ish, to have the latest bruises checked out. I think I mentioned that my left arm had gone all black - since my last blood test, a week ago. The good news is - the tests came back relatively well..... that is to say, as good as my blood is likely to get... the bad news is, we have no idea why the bruising is happening !! So - my Dr is contacting the blood guys, at the hospital, to see what they can suggest !! Me - I'll just go with the flow... at least I know I have some blood still left in me !!
So - that's been my day really... a quiet one, as I say.... so - until next time..

A Short Day In England....
Well "Hello" Worlds...
It's a Wednesday here in England, about 2pm & I've been awake around about 1 hour, give or take. After what I will describe as one heck of a night, I took some sort of sedative about 4am & B topped that off with another one about 8am...... hence, I've only just about woken up !!
Ain't life grand !!
Anyhoo - that was last night.... I'm here on my own, at the moment. J has a meeting in town, so B has driven him into that.... from there - if I heard right - B is meeting up with an old school friend. If all goes well, they will be back in a couple of hours or so. Who the friend is - well.... B did tell me, but I've forgotten the details !!
As for ME - she has gone off to work, at about 7 this morning & will be home much later in the day. She seems to be enjoying her new job - but, until she gets her official pin number come thru' (which basically says she is a qualified nurse) she has to do lower ranking jobs. It pays less - but, it's giving her chance to get stuck in & meet people, before going up to nurse grade.
So - that just leaves me here - typing these words & listening to Mike Oldfield's 'Ommadawn' - which has always been my favourite studio work by him...... not so much part 2 of it... but, the first part.
One of my happiest memories of this tune, was playing it - as I drove along the road into Darwen, Lancashire, in 1976....... that was a long time & another life ago !! It's funny how certain things stick in your mind.
Ok - as I've been asleep, for most of the day... I don't really have that much to write about !! But, I do have a Led Zeppelin concert, from San Bernardino USA in 1969. The Tracks are:
1) The Train Kept A Rollin'
2) I Can't Quit You
3) I Gotta Keep On Moving
4) Dazed & Confused
5) White Summer/Black Mountain Side
6) You Shook Me
7) How Many More Times
The 3rd track is a bit of a strange one. The guitar lost a string & the band just sort of filled in... a type of "Jam Session"... which sort of became 'I Got Keep On Moving'. Oh well - it's all music & worth having in my collection !! As always, don't buy bootlegs !!
I see that the Allman's are back on the road !! "Yippee"..... more music for me to try & collect - tho' - as I've been feeling lower & lower - I've not ordered anything lately, as I'm trying to save a little bit of money !!
But - I think - if I read it right... Lynyrd Skynyrd have been sharing the stage, to promote their new album.. so, I've stuck an order in for that one. I'm not sure when it's going to be released - but, I do like Skynyrd's studio - & live - stuff !!
In 1987, I made a long bunch of tapes...a musical diary of what was happening to me, each day of that year. On this day - August 8th... the music I chose was 'Out In The Fields' By Gary Moore. 25 years later - I can't remember why - but...... it's still a great track !!
Right - I must be on my ways.... I got a whole load of nothing to do, so I don't want to waste time, not doing it !! No really - I've no big plans for this afternoon.... tho' I will check what is on the Olympics - there might be some more bike stuff to enjoy !! So... until next time..

Don't Believe Everything You Read....
Greetings Again !!
Heck - 2 posts in one day... what is this World coming to ?! Oh well - I'm back....
I've just been reading a load of rubbish about Mormons & how our lives are "dictated" to, by people we never see or know, for that matter. As a Latter Day Saint - can I please ask people not to believe everything they read !!
There are many things in The Church that would take a lot of space to explain... so, go & ask a Latter Day Saint to explain it to you, in person.... but, please don't believe everything you read !!
Anyways.... it's now Tuesday evening here in old England...... B has gone out to her Weight-Watchers meeting, ME is upstairs, watching TV in her warm bed & J is behind me, in the kitchen, putting stuff away. They've had their supper, so... it's put stuff away time !!
The music of the moment is a few tracks from Thunder's first album... I can't quite remember the name of it - but, it came out a few years back now. They're still a great listen - but, their career seems to have imploded on them over the last few years !!
I had great plans to sort out my friend's Cd's this afternoon..... but, that went by the by !! I didn't even get to put them together - I need shooting, I really do !! Oh well - I can't post them until at least Thursday... so, I still have time to sort them out !!
The Olympics have been on - quietly in the corner - for most of the day.... our cyclist have had mixed fortunes, in the hunt for gold. Victoria Pendleton has missed out on gold... but, for me, the "star of the show" has to be Laura Trott !! She & her team mates... Danielle King & Joanna Rowsell..... have done so well, bless them !! Chris Hoy has just won another gold... as I type - so, that's a good result for him !!
B has told me, she hasn't seen me take so much interest, in sport, in all the time we've know each other !! It's not so much sport - just the cycling..... Oh well....
The Thunder Cd is called 'Back Street Symphony'.... I just dug it off the shelf, to check the names of some of the tracks. It's 12 years
old !! I knew it came out some time ago - but, I didn't think it was 12 years ago !!
I really need to get a brain transplant.... my memory is completely shot these days !! Never mind - as long as I can remember my name to sign the cheques, all will be well !! Life will go on.... & on...
Ok - my plans for tonight... well, I need to sort myself out, just a little bit, before "bedtime" !! Nothing too exciting... just the sort of junk things I put off, as the day goes on..... bit, by bit, they all pile up & I have to sort them out !! That includes my table - the thing in front of me, with the computer on - it's just got full of rubbish & I must try & clear some of it !!
Tho' it will get just as bad again in a couple of days.... so, my heart isn't really in it tonight....

Heck - 2 posts in one day... what is this World coming to ?! Oh well - I'm back....
I've just been reading a load of rubbish about Mormons & how our lives are "dictated" to, by people we never see or know, for that matter. As a Latter Day Saint - can I please ask people not to believe everything they read !!
There are many things in The Church that would take a lot of space to explain... so, go & ask a Latter Day Saint to explain it to you, in person.... but, please don't believe everything you read !!
Anyways.... it's now Tuesday evening here in old England...... B has gone out to her Weight-Watchers meeting, ME is upstairs, watching TV in her warm bed & J is behind me, in the kitchen, putting stuff away. They've had their supper, so... it's put stuff away time !!
The music of the moment is a few tracks from Thunder's first album... I can't quite remember the name of it - but, it came out a few years back now. They're still a great listen - but, their career seems to have imploded on them over the last few years !!
I had great plans to sort out my friend's Cd's this afternoon..... but, that went by the by !! I didn't even get to put them together - I need shooting, I really do !! Oh well - I can't post them until at least Thursday... so, I still have time to sort them out !!
The Olympics have been on - quietly in the corner - for most of the day.... our cyclist have had mixed fortunes, in the hunt for gold. Victoria Pendleton has missed out on gold... but, for me, the "star of the show" has to be Laura Trott !! She & her team mates... Danielle King & Joanna Rowsell..... have done so well, bless them !! Chris Hoy has just won another gold... as I type - so, that's a good result for him !!
B has told me, she hasn't seen me take so much interest, in sport, in all the time we've know each other !! It's not so much sport - just the cycling..... Oh well....
The Thunder Cd is called 'Back Street Symphony'.... I just dug it off the shelf, to check the names of some of the tracks. It's 12 years
old !! I knew it came out some time ago - but, I didn't think it was 12 years ago !!
I really need to get a brain transplant.... my memory is completely shot these days !! Never mind - as long as I can remember my name to sign the cheques, all will be well !! Life will go on.... & on...
Ok - my plans for tonight... well, I need to sort myself out, just a little bit, before "bedtime" !! Greetings !!
Welcome to my Tuesday...... it's not very nice outside - wet &
muggy !! Oh well.... I hope you are all doing well, I'm not so bad today - so, that's a bonus !!
I'm here on my own, as I type.... J is upstairs, in his "Hobbit Hole".... keeping an eye on me..... B has just gone into the gym.... she hasn't been for a little while, so she wants to make up for it a bit. She hasn't been lazy or anything - the bug she has had over the last couple of weeks has laid her a little low & not really in a "go to gym" mood !!
So - that just leaves ME.... she is on a day off today & will be home shortly (I think) after spending the night at M's place. He (M) is working today... so, when he goes off to work, that is when she will head for home.
The music of the moment is 'Bad' by U2. It's on one of the music tapes, as mentioned before.... so, I'm getting all kinds of things coming out of the speakers today !! Something else has just come on - by U2 - but, I'm not sure what it's called, so I will have to think about this one !!
That's the trouble I guess..... the reason why I'm trying to list all the tracks. If I can't remember what they're called - how is anybody else meant to know, when I eventually kick the bucket ?! Never mind - what ever that U2 track was called... Queensryche's 'Silent Lucidity' is playing now.... a great track !!
This whole "dying" thing has become a bit of a pain now. Not in the literal sense, tho' I do have to put up with the various pains & stuff - thank you Lord for your Spirit & the various pain med's I have to take - but, being told you're dying & then waiting for it to happen.... well, it gets a bit much at times !!
Oh well..... onto happier topics.... tho' I have to go back into hospital, next week.... so, we'll see what happens then I guess !! But - happier things !!

I really like this show... not only is it very well recorded, but - because of the size of the venue - it's a really "intimate" atmosphere. I do like the big venue shows, but this one has a certain something special about it. It was a sort of warm up concert, for the American tour, which I'll be listing in a week or two.
As always - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff instead !!
Staying with music.... there is another record fair, in Exeter, at the start of September... so, we will try & go to that one. when we went, to the last one... well, it seemed ages until the next one was going to happen, but all of a sudden.... it's in 3 weeks time !! Great stuff !!
It will great to go down & see my friends again..... and maybe, just maybe come home with some new recordings !! Time will tell I guess... but, it should be fun !!
Which reminds me... I have some old Cd's to send off to a friend, who I usually meet at the fair. I must do that - I've got them all here to post, I just have to sort them out & get them in the post. I'll get on with that a little later this morning, or early this afternoon !!
Going back a couple of days, or so...... I wrote about having another blood test. I think it was last Friday. Anyhoo - since then, my left arm has bruised up, all around the pin prick. It seems as if the curse of the "Black Left Hand" might be on it's way back !! It's weird - I never used to bruise.... maybe it's something to do with the newer drugs I'm on !! All very weird tho'........
It could be worse - it might be my face going black.... how we would explain that one, I have no idea !! It would be interesting tho'..... oh well.......
The music is just coming to an end.... Crosby, Stills & Nash's 'Cost Of Freedom' has just played.... a lovely little tune !! Anyways - as the tape is ending... I will be on my ways & sort out these Cd's for my friend. He lives down in Devon - which is a shame, as it's just a little too far, at the moment, to just go & drop them off - oh well, he should get them by the weekend. I've got to pack them first - so, I will be on my way & do that...... until next time...

Fire in the hole, well, a smoulder in the kitchen !!
Well "Greetings " Worlds !!
How is your day been going ?! It's very wet & horrid here, in our part of wild England. We went into town a while back - to do the usual, pay bills, put cash in the bank & buy the never ending food - and on the way home, it poured down !! So much so, that the lights went on & B slowed right down to compensate !!
Oh well - it wasn't a long journey.... on the way in was worse. There was a 3 way traffic light system on one of the junctions & it was the cause of a big tail back !! It took about 30 minutes to cover about a mile, crazy stuff.....
Anyhow, we're home now - I'm pleased to say !! Going "out" today was hard work - it was my first trip, into town for over a week & I can't say I enjoyed the crowds !!
We didn't go into ASDA - using another superstore instead - so, that wasn't too bad...... but, getting back into the house, once we got home, was harder work than I expected. I really struggled with the few steps outside.... but, nothing too bad. One day, I know, we will have to move house - if I want to get in & out of the place - but, not yet.
Mentioning ASDA - as yet, I've heard nothing from them...... no surprises there then !! If I do hear anything, I will let you know.... but, I suspect they will - again - it wasn't their fault... but... you never know !!
As for the family.... B is here, sat watching another episode of NCIS. I don't mind buying the DVD box sets - I know they will get watched, over & over !! So - that's B.... who hasn't had the best of days
really !!
When I woke up this morning - I thought I could smell bitumen... I think that's what it's called.... the stuff they put down on roofs to waterproof them. However, I was very wrong !! B had put a plastic basket & rubber gloves on the cooker.... not, realising it was hot !! The smell, well - it was melted plastic & rubber !! Bummer !!
She is going to have to scrap the residue off, at some point.... how I don't know, but.... so, that was B's bad start to the day !!
ME is out at work & J is upstairs on his computer..... so, apart from the cats, that's the family !!
I haven't got any music on at the moment - that will come later, after NCIS..... it will be some more of the old tapes - the one's I mentioned before. I'm still trying to list all of the tracks. I have 8 in front of me & 2 in the machine, ready to play... so, it's going to take time !!
Two things, I must mention.... Congrats to all at NASA, for landing on Mars with their new "toy". I hope it works as well as they hope !! I know it costs a shed load of cash to do this sort of thing - but....

Go GB - A Fantastic Race !!
Well "Hello" There World's !!
How is your bit of internet space keeping you this fine - wet - day ?!
Before I get too far - I'm having a problem with my computer & brain as I type.... so, if I make too many mistakes... well, I hope you will forgive me !!
Also... it's a Sunday. Now, being the Lord's day... I don't really like posting on Sundays, however - I think the Lord will forgive me.
I really wanted to post last night, but wasn't feeling well enough, so I left it until today. I just had to post about the 3 ladies & their amazing final last night !! Not only did they win their "bike race".... but, they hammered it !!
Add to that - in their last 6 races, they broke the World Record 6 times !! How good is that !! I love watching the bike races - from Tour Of France type 'long' races... right thru' the tracks & BMX stuff. I couldn't believe how good the ladies did last night - it was
brilliant !! Well done girls - you were out of this World !!
So - that was last night.... after a few good hours, I went down hill again....... I thought it was too good to be true !! Anyhoo - after a few hours of feeling like c**p... the drugs gradually kicked in & I was "granted" a few hours of much needed sleep !!
So - that's why we missed Church this morning. I wouldn't of been fit enough to have make the trip, let alone staying there for a hour or so...... but, hopefully, the Lord will forgive me !!
As I type - B is here, on the 2 seater, watching season 8 of NCIS. We both love the show & I always get the box sets of DVD's when they come out..... so, she is sat there enjoying it.
J is upstairs & ME is away at work..... she won't be home for a good few hours, as she is working until 8pm. If all goes well, she will get 3 days off, as the week goes on... so, that will be good. She will need the rest !!
I think she feels we're being mean at the moment !! After 5 years at "high" school, 2 years at college & now 3 years at Uni... we've started her off on paying "rent". This has not gone down too well, so...... we're being mean, I guess !! Oh well.....
So - anyways, as the TV is on, the music has been turned off for a while. I've had everything from classical, thru' Black Sabbath to Bryan Adams & Frank Zappa..... it's been a fun sort of morning
really !!
I've been playing the old "music tapes" I mentioned a day or two back.... they certainly contain a load of strange stuff !!
Never mind.... as I say, it's been a lot of fun.
Right... my plans for today - I don't have any !! So, nothing new there I guess !! I really must try & kick back a bit tho'... these "bad" nights are starting to get to me a bit.... never mind !!
Oh well - I must thank you all for logging in again... from America, to Russia & various places all over the World... it still amazes me that sooooo many of you take the time to read my words !!

Knebworth August 4th 1979
Greetings !!
It's a warm & bright Saturday morning, here in England - I can't quite see over to the beach, it's a little too misty out there for that... but, it has started off as a warm day !!
For once - I had a really good night... even B slept thru' most of it, so altho' I was awake & up and about, I obviously didn't wake her !! That's good.... I do feel guilty when I have a bad night, as I keep her awake as well !! Anyhoo - the night seems to have gone well !!
As for B - ME came home this morning & they have both gone out to do a bit of shopping. I don't think they will be back very quickly - as when ME gets going, there is very little to stop her !! Anyways - that's leaves J here at home, with me...... and the cats.
I mentioned ME's boyfriend M, had a job interview yesterday.... it doesn't seem to have gone very well. First off, M got there late & then had a bit of a "brain freeze" when it came to some of the questions !! Not good.... he also had to do a written test & felt he didn't do too well on that !!
All of the above came from ME - so, hopefully he did better than he thought & things will go his way.
Anyhoo - today is Saturday, August 4th & 33 years ago today, I was in a crowd of about 250,000 to watch Led Zeppelin's first Knebworth concert. The second one, happened the following Saturday.
Despite everything that has been written over the years.... about how rubbish the concert was, including a few comments from me, well - I still rate it as one of the top concerts I've been fortunate to attend !!

You probably won't find this version anywhere's - but, as always.... don't buy bootlegs. Some of this show is available on the official DVD, so buy that instead !! More another time....

Well, yesterday, I mentioned that I had started to do a track listing of my 'Music Tapes'. Well, it went well... until I realised my brain had lost it's memory chip - which basically means, that - altho' I knew the people who were singing, I couldn't remember what the tracks were called !! So - some of great efforts to list the tapes are going to be for nothing....!! Oh well.... I will try & continue.... I might get better at it, as I go along !!

I mentioned ME's boyfriend M, had a job interview yesterday.... it doesn't seem to have gone very well. First off, M got there late & then had a bit of a "brain freeze" when it came to some of the questions !! Not good.... he also had to do a written test & felt he didn't do too well on that !!
All of the above came from ME - so, hopefully he did better than he thought & things will go his way.
Anyhoo - today is Saturday, August 4th & 33 years ago today, I was in a crowd of about 250,000 to watch Led Zeppelin's first Knebworth concert. The second one, happened the following Saturday.
Despite everything that has been written over the years.... about how rubbish the concert was, including a few comments from me, well - I still rate it as one of the top concerts I've been fortunate to attend !!

This is my favourite version of the concert.... and believe me, when I say, there are lot's of versions out there !! Some are really good... & some are really bad - this one, the one I'm playing is from the soundboard & plays really well, over the 4 discs.
You probably won't find this version anywhere's - but, as always.... don't buy bootlegs. Some of this show is available on the official DVD, so buy that instead !! More another time....
I wrote a lot more about this concert - the day went & everything in previous posts... so, go back to August of last year & the year before to find out more..... it was a great day !!
Ok, my plans for today...
Well, yesterday, I mentioned that I had started to do a track listing of my 'Music Tapes'. Well, it went well... until I realised my brain had lost it's memory chip - which basically means, that - altho' I knew the people who were singing, I couldn't remember what the tracks were called !! So - some of great efforts to list the tapes are going to be for nothing....!! Oh well.... I will try & continue.... I might get better at it, as I go along !!
Right my plans for today...... well, I will probably have a quiet, kind of nothing day. Listen to some music, rest up & make the most out of had good night !! So, until next time...
