Greetings World's !!
It's been 3 whole days, since I last posted anything - I'm very sorry about that.... one thing has pushed out another & life has just flown by !! I will try & fill in the gaps, as & when I can.... some of the past few days have been a bit weird... some of it, has been down right stupid !!
First tho' - the family...
ME - our Daughter - has taken B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - up to someplace, in Bristol, to collect a bag. It was meant to be, in the shop, in Exeter... so, the plan, when we last went there, was to pick one up.... but, you know all about plans - they come, they go.... but, from time to time... they just fall apart !!
This one fell apart.... the bag wasn't in Exeter... so, for some reason (beyond me) B ordered it from a shop, in Bristol !! So - the ladies have headed that ways, today & hopefully, the bag will be there, when they arrive !! It's too complicated, for my brain, at least !! Oh well...
It does mean, however, that - I have the house, all to myself again.... sooooo the music is turned right up, past 11 & onto about 15 !! Especially, as I'm playing things thru' my headphones - the trusty Sennheiser set, that I was given, as a gift, quite a while ago now.... they work fine tho' - mainly as I hardly ever use them !!
The music of the moment, is Grateful Dead's 'Without A Net' album. The tracks are:
Side A
1) Feel Like A Stranger
2) Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo
3) Walkin' Blues
4) Althea
Side B
1) Cassidy
2) Bird Song
3) Let It Grow
Side C
1) China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider
2) Looks Like Rain
3) Eyes Of The World
Side D
1) Victim Of Crime
2) Help On The way/Slipknot/Franklin's Tower
3) One More Saturday Night
4) Dear Mr. Fantasy
Why 4 sides ? Well - for my sins, I'm playing the 2 tape cassette version - mainly because, as yet, I've not found a copy of the Cd version !! Well - that's a lie.... I have found a copy - but, the seller wants over £30 for it & - as much as I like the album - I don't see paying that much for a Cd of the thing, while the tapes play perfectly fine !!
Plus - I must admit - today, I'm making a transfer of the tapes, over to Cd.... until I can actually find the thing, on an official Cd !! It's not going to be perfect - but, it will do, until I can buy a copy, hopefully, cheaper than £30 !! That's a little too much for my taste !!
I will use it, until such a time, that things work out, money wise...... which brings me, onto one of the more "stupid" things, of the last couple of days....
As mentioned, before someplace.... I am "officially" broke. With being sick, most of the last year, in one hospital or another - it was only a matter of time, before somebody, someplace said "give us your money" !!
Anyhoo - I had this insurance thingy... which covered me, incase I had problems - in one way, or another, money wise. Being "officially" broke fell into that range of problems, so... the insurance paid out !!
Much to my surprise - I had a letter & cheque for over £4000 come in the post - which, we thought, would be a fantastic help, in this time of need.... boy, we were wrong, on that part !!
Follow closely - you might, one day, be the same position as
ourselves !!
I had this bank account, which the insurance was placed with - the bank, not the account. Anyhoo - because we went "officially" broke.... that bank account was closed.....
Unfortunately - the bank (bless them) being as we had an account with them, decided that - for reasons I still don't understand - that we can't have the cash.... because it's an asset, above a certain amount, & therefore, above the limit we can have & still be classed as "officially" broke !!
So - because we had this insurance, in place, to help us - incase we needed it.... we can't make use of it & it will all go towards paying other things !!
Just when we thought, we were starting to get things going & sorting ourselves out.... I have £4000 in one hand - which the other hand, has to lose, or else !! Sooooo - instead of being "officially" (I just love that word) broke - I will be made "officially" bankrupt.... and, have to deal with all the crap, that goes along with that !!
Here is something, kind of, dumb.....
To be classed as "officially" insolvent... you have to pay £90 - money, which if you think about it, you don't have... or else you wouldn't be classed as insolvent !! However - to be classed as bankrupt - you have to pay £700 !! How mad is that.....
Up until this £4000 cheque came... I didn't have £700.... now that I do, I have to pay it out, to do something, I don't have any choice in !! It all seems like a bit of a con-act to me.... oh well, I will no doubt let you know how things go, over the coming weeks !!
Moving away from the above....
I e-mailed our Son - J - to see if he would consider, for his Mum's sake, coming home, for just a short while..... but, as he hasn't got back to me... I'm guessing that's a big "No" !! It's Ok.... I know he hates me & every bit of a life, that I have still going in me.... but - to take his hate for me, out on his Mum... well, that's a bit too much !!
So... I will just leave things as they are & hope, that should I die, he will consider his Mum & hopefully let his hate for me, just rest at the bottom of the sea.... if not, well - it's your life Son !! Oh well....
I really must think about shutting this off soon.... I have a few things to do & I really want to get on with them !! Oh I forgot...
As I type, our 20 year old car is having it's yearly MOT test...... I really hope it gets thru' everything Ok !! It would be the final straw, if the car has to go off the road, at the same time as I have a £4000 cheque I can't make use of.... that would be kind of ironic.... it really would be !! Nevermind...
I must go... the cassettes are coming to an end & I want to see how well they have come out, on the Cd's..... hopefully good enough... for my ears, at least - that's all I need really..... 'Dear Mr Fantasy' is playing, right now - it's a great song !!
I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words.... I thank you for your time, drop me a line - any time... it would be good to hear from you.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Allman Brothers - 'Hollywood Bowl 1972'
Greetings World's !!
Wherever you might be, in what ever Universe - or whatever planet....... if you are reading my words "Hello !!"
It's a Sunday - here in the hot & humid South-West of England.... the sky is blue, with small puffy white clouds, drifting across. Over, towards the sea, it looks really blue & inviting..... not for me tho' !! No way...
Ok - so why am I posting, on The Lords Day.... better known as a Sunday !! To explain.......
For some dumb reason, I've not been able to get myself together, over the last few months. B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has put it down, to the fact that I've been poorly now, for over a year.... since May of last year, particularly, since the first back surgery.....
No matter what I try & do - my heart is really not in it & I usually give up & move on to something else !!
For example - I normally send my friends, some Cd's from time to time - but, getting things together & posting them off.... it hasn't really be happening !!
So - today... even if it is a Sunday & I should be at Church.... I'm home alone & I've decided to give myself, a kick in the pants... to make sure I get things done & not just forgotten about, until another day !!
Sooooo with all of that, in mind.... I've set myself, a small task & I'm determined to get it done - with out me giving up, part ways thru' !! I'm only going to clear my computer table off & put stuff away - it might not sound too big a deal.... but, believe me... it needs doing & that's a fact !!
As mentioned - I'm home alone.... B has gone into town, to get some emergency supplies & take in a visit, to the M & M's home - just to see if they're at home.... she'll be back, in about an hour, I guess....
So - as I'm here..... the music of the moment is my latest Allman Brothers Cd - which I picked up, in Exeter, on Wednesday..... the tracks are:
1) Statesboro' Blues
2) Done Somebody Wrong
3) One Way Out
4) Stormy Monday
5) You Don't Love Me
6) Trouble No More
7) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
8) Whipping Post
9) Johnny B Goode
10) Dust My Broom
It was recorded in 1972, at the Hollywood Bowl.... and, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure if it's a bootleg ?! I bought it, in HMV - in Exeter... but, it doesn't sound too good, to have been an official release. I'll have to look into it, a bit more !!
Two things of note - it's the 5 piece band.... recorded after Duane Allman's death - but, before the death of bass player Berry Oakley !! It's a real bit of music history !!
Add to the above.. Johnny Winter joins in, on the last 2 tracks - so..... it pretty good & certainly worth having in the collection & that's for sure !! Well good !!
Ok - I must away... I only switched the computer on, to do an e-mail.... so, I best think about that & move on. As always - I thank you for logging in & reading my words...until next time..

A 2 day post & Jefferson Airplane Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
It's a very warm & humid Friday afternoon, here in England's South-West...... cooler than it has been - but, still very warm !! Nevermind - it's been a fantastic couple of days... so.....
First off tho' - the family.
For the last couple of hours, ME - our Daughter - has been here...... mainly as she is off work, this past week & - I think - she wanted to get out of her & partner M's house, just for a short while. As I type - B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - and her have gone down the village.
Murphy is on his own, again, this afternoon - so... the ladies have decided to take him down the park, for a walk & a little play around. Plus - I've packaged up a parcel, for my friend in Bristol & B is going to post that off, for me !!
I have really been "out of it" - as far as sending Cd's off to people - over the last few months. I haven't been able to concentrate on that, as well as trying to sort out the wound, in my back !! "What wound ?!" I hear you say.... check out, any post, from May 2013 onwards, for that small detail - it's just taken over our lives, it really has.... but - we have had some good news, on that subject !!
As you may have read, in my last couple of posts... on Wednesday... a couple of days ago... I had another meeting, with the plastic surgeon - based down, in the Exeter hospital. If all goes to plan - in early September (maybe later) - he is going to do the operation, that we all know, he should of done, last May 12th !!
He has admitted, that he got it wrong... and should have not gone for the straight "skin graft" surgery, .... and gone right to the bigger surgery, of moving things around & plugging the wound, that way !! We tried to tell you this Sir, but.... you wouldn't listen !! Oh well......
Ok - I know he thought he was doing the right thing.... but, B & I have lived with this, for the last year & a bit - so, we kind of know my body, just a little bit better, than he gave us credit for !!
He has warned us, that things can still go wrong - "yeah, no shit !!" - but,. he thinks it will be worth the try... so, here's hoping things will gradually come to some sort of conclusion - now - & we can move
on !!
Life is still good...... but, it could be better !!
This morning, one of the district nurses came over & redressed things.... and, they will continue to do that, until it's all - kind of - behind us...... time will tell, on when that is going to be, exactly - but, at least things are moving on !! As I say - "life is good" !!
As she was off work... ME came with us, to Exeter and we made a......
..... got to take a break !!
Saturday....... 24 hours later !!
Hi again...
That was a longer break, than I expected !!
The Elders made an un-announced visit & my day sort of went South, from then on.... hence, I didn't get around to writing anything else - sorry about that !!
I really don't mind the guys coming over - but, I wish they would consider giving me a 'phone call first, before descending on me !! I wasn't exactly very healthy, yesterday... so, I could of done with-out a visit.... nevermind !!
Back to Wednesday !!
As mentioned, the 3 of us went down to Exeter.... B & ME + your's truly. We had a great day - hospital aside, that is !! The Sun was out & we managed to get around all of the shops, that we wanted... plus, we had lunch together.... something we haven't done, on a shopping trip for a very long time !!
I managed to make my Daughter's day - I'm pleased to say !!
There is this one shop, that both the ladies, of the house, really love.... so, while I was left to my own thoughts, in HMV - the ladies went walk-a-bout. They came back to me.... and told me, of this bag, that ME had seen... one she had wanted for a very long time.
So - I thought... "Why not ?!" and bought it for her.... she loved it !! I love my Children sooooo very much - I'm pleased I was able to make her smile !! I don't think I've seen her that happy, in a very long time !! Bless her.......
I bought B a couple of small things - also, she has ordered another bag... which should be coming soon. I think they are going up to Bristol, to pick that one up - maybe on Wednesday, I don't really know exactly !!
As for me....
Well - being let loose in a HMV is very, very dumb.... but, in the end, I olnly picked up a couple or 3 things. They were..
Allman Brothers Band - 'Hollywood Bowl 1972
Grateful Dead - 'Blues For Allah
Plus, the music of the moment -
Jefferson - 'Flight Box'
It's a 3 Cd set.... featuring a Cd - which I have already 'At Golden Gate Park' May 7th 1969 and a 2 Cd set, from their last concert, at the 'Winterland Arena' San Francisco on September 22nd 1972.
I'm not sure, exactly, if it's their very last concert, as the Airplane... or, just their last concert, at the venue - it's listed as 'Last Flight' - but, the booklet is a bit vague on the details !! The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Introduction - Bill Graham
2) Somebody To Love
3) Twilight Double Leader
4) Wooden Ships
5) Milk Train
6) Blind John
7) Come back baby
8) The Son Of Jesus
9) Long John Silver
10) When The Earth Moves Again
11) Papa John's Down Home Blues
12) Eat Starch Mom
CD 2
1) John's Other
2) Trial By Fire
3) Lax Man
4) Have You Ever Seen The Saucers ?
5) Aerie (Gang Of Eagles)
6) Crown Of Creation
7) Walking The Tou Tou
8) Diana/Volunteers
By the time, that this was recorded... well, it wasn't the original Jefferson Airplane line up.... but, heck - it's all music folks and I'm not complaining !! Great stuff...
I had an e-mail from Lady V - over the Allman's 'Hittin' The Note' web site - the multi cd set, containing the bands 'Fillmore East' live shows is on it's way to me !! That is something I really am looking forward to hearing !! I have several parts, of the set, already - but not the complete thing... so, I really am going to enjoy listening to that !!
I'll no doubt list the other stuff, at some point - but, not today. I need to be on my ways & do a couple of things..... nothing special.... but, I must away !! I'm kind of knackered at the moment....
I thank you all, for taking the time to log in & read my words - I see I've had a reader, over in Turkey - "Hi" - it's good to know you are there.....until next time....

The night before the tomorrow.... !!
Greetings World's...
Tomorrow is the big day !! Once more, into the hospital.... to see what wonders, the Consultant will decide to try this time around !! Sooner - or later - something will work !! I bloody hope so - I am really fed up with life, at the moment.... it's not funny anymore....
Ok - so, tomorrow, I will not be posting.... mainly as we have to do the whole 100 mile round trip, down to Exeter - that is enough, to wipe me out, let alone all the hospital stuff, that will go along with
it !!
So.... as she has the week, off of work, ME is coming along, for the ride. She loves going into the City centre & doing all of the shops !! Bless her !!
Right - the music of the moment, are the bonus Cd's - that came out with the new Led Zeppelin album releases. I've decided to give them, to a friend - they are sooooo very bad, he may as well have them !! I'm guessing he'll make some money, by selling them... but, that's up to him !!
Must away - things to do & stuff...until next time...

'Murder In The Skies' by Gary Moore....
Greetings World's !!
It's a very bright & warm Monday - here in England. Looking out of the window, all I can see is blue sky & big white clouds !! It's really quite nice - to look over to the sea... blue, in the distance.....
As I type - B is loading up the car. She is taking some stuff over to the M & M's place. I'm not 100% sure how she is going to fit the 3 piece ladder into the car..... We have a 20 year old banger - not really built for hauling anything too long !! However, My Wife & Dearest Friend, is trying her best...... looking out of the window, it looks as if it's all going to go..... I'm not sure how - but..... what do I know ?!
"B has now left the building" Somehow - and I still don't really know how - the ladder, all 3 parts of it + a spare length of wood.... to be used as a banister rail..... have all gone into the car & B is now heading towards town !! Quite incredible - really incredible !!
Ok - where was I.. ?!
Oh.... I didn't post anything, over the weekend, sorry about that. I wasn't feeling too well.... plus, I'm not that keen on doing anything, computer wise, on a Sunday. To me, it's still the Lord's Day.... sooooo I try & avoid the old computer !!
I know, we don't attend Church services, as often as we used to - see earlier posts, for the reason why, but - I still try & keep the Sunday's a bit special, if we can.
Anyhoo - Saturday & yesterday, I wasn't feeling too well...... my health problems still keep me low, I'm sorry to say !! On Wednesday, this week, we are heading back down to the hospital, in Exeter, to see the Consultant..... hopefully, he will give me some clues, as to where all of this, is heading !!
I'm not convinced that I will need another surgery - but, I'm only working on what the nurses tell me !! They still come out, 3 times a week..... today's visit was a couple of hours ago.
They - all of the nurses - have their own way of doing the dressings. The nurse, who comes on Mondays, is a bit of a "patter". By that - I mean, she "pats" the dressings down, into place....... which, to be honest, I could do with-out. Every time she "pats" the dressing, a pain shoots thru' my spine !! Never mind... thankfully, she only comes once a week !!
Last Friday.. as I may have already posted... I actually asked the nurse to stop what she was doing !! She was talking to B & - unfortunately - she seem to forget how much she was hurting me !! So - I asked her to stop, just for a few seconds, to give me a break, to give the pain a chance to go away !!
She was ever so sorry & apologized..... bless her !! She is one of the 2 nurses that I love coming.... they really are the best, at getting the dressing just right !! Oh well.....
Ok - I guess everybody has seen the news, about the plane, which was shot down, over the Eastern Ukraine !! I - obviously - know very little about what happened..... but, if Mr Puck-tin's band of ass holes are responsible, they ought to be made to pay !!
It's not the first time, that someone in Russia has done this.... Those of us, of a certain age, will remember the plane, that was shot down, on it's way to Korea !! 'Murder In The Skies' Gary Moore called it, in his song, from the 'Victims Of The Future' album.... he was so right !! If it turns out that Mr Puck-tin's jerks are behind this...... well - you all know my views on him !!
Those people, on that plane, were innocent victims, of a war... which - lets be honest - Mr Puck-tin is supporting. Honestly - whoever gave the order, to shoot the plane down, needs to be made to look at the bodies, of those that were killed !! Once again - it's the innocent who pay the price !!

I had all of the albums, on Lp... so, to replace them on Cd.. well, that was a bonus - even tho' I already had 2 of the Cd's already..... heck, it was my birthday & it's all music !! Give the 'Flowers Of Evil' album a listen, if you get a chance... well good, well good !!
Right... my plans for today ?! I really need to catch up on a few things - stuff that I've put off doing, really (because) I've just not got around to doing it !! Just lazy, I guess....
I must be away... as always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words.... from wherever you might be living... until next time...
Bye Bye

Ten Years After & I new project !! Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's !!
I hope your bit of the Universe is treating you well ?! It's a very bright & Sunny day, here in the part of England, that I call home !! It is also, very warm & humid - which is Ok... as long as the air is moving..... hence I have a fan, blowing away, behind me !! If nothing else..... even if the temperature doesn't come down, I can imagine it is !!
The good part.... it's meant to be getting warmer - followed by some thunderstorms !! That will be Ok... I like to see the flashes of lightning, in the dark sky of night. Where we live, you can quite literally see for miles...... so, it's really good - especially, if the storms head up thru' the coast !! Oh well......
Ok - the family......
B is upstairs, in her craft stash... doing various cards, for birthdays & Christmas. Now that she has her own craft room - hopefully she won't get too far behind. Most years, come December, she is frantically trying to catch up..... !! Nevermind.....
With the M & M's having their own place & J not coming home - B & I are going to have our own little Xmas dinner, just the 2 of us, plus - of course - the 4 cats !! They will, no doubt, get plenty of turkey, or chicken.... depending on what we're going to have this year !!
I know - most years, no matter what cat(s) we've had...... they have all done very well, for leftovers !! It'll be Archie's 2nd Christmas.... bless him !! Oh well..... more about the cats - in future posts !!
Right - going back to Wednesday......
If you read that post - you will know, that, I was waiting for a nurse to show up. B & I were going into town, to see ME.... along with my first visit, to see Bruce - the M & M's kitten !! Unfortunately.... by 2pm, the nurse had failed to show... so, B went into town, by
herself !! I wasn't too happy about that... I was looking forward, to seeing Bruce, I really was !!
As it turned out - the nurse never showed !! When B came home.... I was sooooo fed up with it all, that I had gone back to the bedroom & had crashed out, on the bed !! Honestly - I was really "low" about it all...... so much so, that B really let rip !!
The lady that she (B) spoke to, on the 'phone claimed nobody was due to come out..... which was just rubbish + some other crap - all of which just made it worse, really. As it turned out - a nurse, eventually, showed up about 8pm !! I had waited all thru' the day.... and, when she did get here - for the 2nd time, in as many days, she didn't bring the right dressings !! B was fuming !!
The plan then, was for another nurse, to come out on Thursday.... to sort the Vac-pump dressing out - once again, nobody showed up !! Well - that was, until one of the "bosses" showed up & took full responsibility, for everything that went wrong !! Bless her..... she was brilliant.
So - the plan, today - is for a bundle of dressings to come right here.... followed by a nurse. Well - the dressings are here.... just got to wait for the nurse to arrive !! Oh well...... if nothing else, I will take all of the bloody dressings off, myself, tonight.... and have a long soak, in a warm bath !!
By "bloody" - I'm not using that, as a swear word.... the dressings are truly blood red !! As for the long soak.... that is something I've not been able to do, since last year !! It's hard to soak in a bath - especially when I'm all trussed up, in these dressings !! Maybe one day soon - not today tho' !!
Hopefully, the nurse will be back - sometime this afternoon..... they certainly messed up our day, on Wednesday !!
Not only was I un-able to go into town, with B.... but, in the evening - we had a fantastic visit from one of the Missionaries !! He is coming to the end of his 2 years, so he came around, with his Spanish parents, to say "thank you" for all we did for him, while he was in our area.
It was fun - we do not speak Spanish & they did not speak English !! So - the Elder was translating between us..... until the nurse came & spoilt our evening together !! We said they could stay - but, because the nurse was here, they felt better.... felt that they should leave. So - Wednesday was really messed up !!
I should mention the music of the moment !! I've been listening to an old Robert Plant live set, from 22-6-2002. It was broadcast on the BBC... and, to be honest, I forgot I had it !! I was having a bit of a tidy & I found it mixed up, with some Grateful Dead Cd's !! Anyhoo - the tracks are:
1) Celebration Day
2) Darkness Darkness
3) Funny In My Mind
4) Morning Dew
5) Tall Cool One
6) Song For The Siren
It's a good set of tunes.... with a bit of talk, in between !! I'm glad I found it - I'll see what else is mixed up, on that Dead shelf !!
I've now moved over to one of the Cd's, that I got for my birthday.... 'The Best of....' by Ten Years After. Those tracks are:
1) Rock & Roll Music To The World
2) I'd Love To Change The World
3) I'm Going Home
4) Choo Choo Mama
5) Tomorrow, I'll Be Out Of Town
6) I Woke Up This Morning
7) Me & My Baby
8) Good Morning Little School Girl
9) Goin' Back To Birmingham
10) 50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain
11) Sweet Little Sixteen
12) I'm Coming On
13) Love Like A Man
14) Baby Won't You Let Let Me Rock 'n' Roll You
For some reason... the track listing, on the Cd.... well, it goes from track 10.... straight to track 12 !! Very weird...... but, I can only see 14 tracks, on the Cd - so.......... unless, of course, there is some hidden gem, in there, someplace !!
Readers - well, some of you - will know, that from time to time.... I set myself little "projects". In the past - these have mostly revolved around music..... either trying to do a complete listing, of all of our Cd's.... or tapes. My last attempt, well - it fizzed out completely !! I started off well - but, one thing or another came along & it all got pushed to one side !!
In my own defense - the last time I started a list... I think.... I landed up, back in the hospital & I simply lost the plot !! The whole listing was going well - but..... it just never happened to get finished !!
Anyways...... I decided, yesterday.... or sometime earlier, I forget. Well, I have decided that - rather than just typing these words, I'm going to print them all up. I know, it sounds like a dumb idea - but, to be honest - I'm a dumb type of person !!
So - going back to yesterday....
B drove me, into town & I picked out a couple of folders, 500 pages of half decent paper..... some of those plastic, see-thru' thingy's - to put the pages in & probably some other stuff, that I've
forgotten about !!
But - I'm determined to do the whole lot..... starting with post #1. I have no clue how long it's going to take me, but - it's a project & I'm going to need it, to get me thru' the crap that, no doubt, I will have to go thru'..... over the coming months or years !!
Life will go on & I'm going to enjoy doing the whole printing up & putting the thing together !! Besides - I will still get to play some music, while I'm doing it - so, it's a win win type of project !! Great stuff... well, I think so, at least !!
Right - my plans for the rest of the day..... well, that depends on when the nurse lady gets here, I guess. But - I will no doubt play some more music & have a bit of fun, while I'm doing it !! For now tho' - I must be on my ways...
As always, I thank you for your time & for logging in to read my words.... until next time...

A nurse, the Grateful Dead & a bank account !!
Greetings World's !!
How is your bit of the Universe treating you - this fine day day ?! I'm doing relatively Ok, at this end of the keyboard..... just a little pissed off, nothing too serious. No !! That's a lie - it is serious... to explain.
Today is a Wednesday... the middle of the week..... and, for the last 5-6 hours, I've been waiting for the nurse to show up. It's time for another dressings change !! If that wasn't bad enough - B & I were going to go, into town - to do a bit of shopping & to visit ME.... I wanted to see Bruce - the M & M's new kitten !!
Unfortunately, because the nurse has yet to make an appearance, B has had to go on, alone - in order to catch the bank, before it closes.... I could of waited here, maybe for another 30 minutes or so, but - even after that, there is no guarantee, that the nurse would be here !! Sooooo B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has left me here..... hopefully, the nurse will get here soon - I'm really fed up of waiting around !!
At least, by leaving now.... B should have time to get things done, with-out having to rush !! I don't always like going out - especially into town.... but, today, I was really looking forward to the trip & seeing the kitten !! There will be other days - I just wanted to go today.... that's all !!
Anyhoo..... it's not such a big deal - but, I am fed up of waiting around..... I have no idea, when the nurse will eventually get here, it could be a hour or so yet !! Time will tell, I guess....
I am not looking forward, to this dressing change.... the old wound has been hurting bad & - from what B has told me - it's a bloody
mess !! So - I'm guessing, it's really going to hurt, when it actually comes to taking the old stuff off !! Oh well - ain't life grand ?!
Earlier - around 11am - we had a guy come over, to do a survey..... nothing too exciting. He had to check for old asbestos type material, in the houses construction. As I said to him - we have lived here, since 1998 - and so far, none of us have keeled over from living with the stuff !!
Give him some credit tho' - he was really good at his job !! He must have taken about 30 samples, to have tested. He said there was nothing too major.... nothing to worry about, as far as he could see, but.... he took the samples, just incase !!
At least, he was on time.... he was here, more or less, at 11am.... give or take a couple of minutes. I was hoping the nurse would be here, around the same time... nevermind - I'll get over it.... maybe !!
As for the rest of the family.
ME - our Daughter - is at her house, waiting for B to arrive. Her partner - M - is working, so I'm guessing he will be home a bit later. That just leaves our Son - J - who, as far as we know, is over in Wales..... I'll leave it at that !!
So - with the house, to myself, I'm playing another Grateful Dead concert....
This one is from August 13th 1975, at 'The Great American Music Hall'. I have no idea where that might be - but, I'm sure one of you, my readers, will let me know !! Anyhoo - the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Introduction - Help On The Way
2) Franklin's Tower
3) The Music Never Stopped
4) It Must Have Been The Roses
5) Eyes Of The World/Drums
6) King Solomon's Marbles
7) Around & Around
CD 2
1) Sugaree
2) Big River
3) Crazy Fingers/Drums
4) The Other One
5) Sage & Spirit
6) Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad
7) U.S. Blues
8) Blues For Allah
Ok - as far as I know, this has to be a bootleg... or, at the very best, an official live recording. I really know very little about the thing !! Anyways - don't buy bootlegs, buy the official stuff instead !!
Actually - looking at the cover artwork - it says it's on "Grateful Dead Records".... so, it might be official - I really don't know !! It's a good recording tho'.... worth having in the collection !!
Today is a very special day.....
It was on July 16th - many, many Moons ago - that B & I first met !! I'm not going to embarrass B, by putting in just how long ago, it actually was, but, with many hills behind us - we are still together !! I know it's not really what some people would want..... but, we are hanging in there !!
So - to mark this day, in history...... I got up quite early, put the kettle on & made B pot of her (pretty disgusting) tea..... I gave it to her, on a tray - with a newly cut sprig of roses, which I cut myself, from out in the garden !! I'm really pleased.... mainly as B also remembered what day it was.... so, that kind of made it all, a little bit more
special !!
I can still remember that day - even if it was a goodly number of years ago !! It's something you never really forget - one of those "Hallmark" moments..... oh well !!
Later on, this evening, one of the Missionaries is coming around, to say a "goodbye" - he has come to the end of his 2 years, as a Missionary & will be heading back to Spain, in the next few days - I guess, I don't really know !!
He wants to stop by... and introduce us, to his Mum & Dad, who are over here to, sort of, collect him & help him with his journey home !! It's hard to believe, that we haven't seen him - well, for at least 18 months.... so, it will be very special to see him again !!
Sooooo very much has happened, since he was last here.... I hope he won't be in too much of a hurry, to leave. I want to know how he has got on, over the last year & a half !! Bless him...... he & the other Missionaries, all work very, very hard.... it is not easy for them !! It will be good to see him & to wish him well !!
Complete change of subject.... the NFH !!
The NFH.... or, if you're new to my posts (where have you been ?!) the "Neighbour From Hell" has just come home.... I won't say that she is loud - but, I can hear her, over the top of the music... which is almost turned up to 11 !! Honestly !!
Ok - I do have the doors & windows open.... but, there is no need to be that loud !! I don't know what she is moaning about today - probably having another shouting match, with her Husband !! Actually - that is wrong.... she shouts at him.... he just stands there & lets her get on with it !! There is no "match" part to it.... she just shouts & shouts !! maybe I should turn the music up a bit louder..... then, of course, I won't hear the nurse.... who, I hope, will be here soon !!
I know I don't type very fast - but, it's now been an hour, since B left.... so, I'm glad she didn't hang around !! We wouldn't of made it to the bank.... talking of which !!
Being officially "broke"... B & I opened 2 new bank accounts. The idea being, to build up a bit of cash, just to help us out - as & when we needed it. Well, today - despite being told how wonderful, these new accounts are.... well, in a nut-shell, they're kind of crap !!
I tried to do a bit of "telephone banking" - only to be told, the thing - that I wanted to do - couldn't be done, with the accounts we had !! In other words - having gone to the bank & wasted a goodly bit of our time, sorting these things out.... we can't do the stuff we thought we had signed up for !!
I just love banks - I really do....... They were more than happy, when B put £500 into her account - but, today, when we wanted to move things about - we were told "No - sorry, you need another type of account !!" Nevermind.... I can't win them all - but, just once in a while, I would like to be a close 2nd !!
Right - my plans for today.... none at all, really !! I can't do very much, because - until the nurse actually gets here - I really am stuck !! I just love it really.... the one day, that I needed her to be early, she hasn't shown up..... oh well !!
I must away.....
I thank you all for logging in & taking the time to read my words...... until next time...
Bye Bye
Neil Young 'A Letter Home' & other stuff..
Greetings !!
It's a Tuesday afternoon.... here in the wilds of England's South West. The Sun is out - bright & warm - there are a few clouds, but... over in the distance, I can see the sea, bright & blue. It looks pretty good, out there...
I have to be honest - I feel like crap, today.... which is very disappointing !! Mainly as, yesterday, I felt really great !! I was outside - helping B, do the new washing line & walking around the place, only using my sticks, now & again. Today, however - well, I feel like crap !! Oh well !!
As for the family...
My Wife & Dearest Friend... B... she is upstairs, doing some housework. She helped put an extra dressing, on my back, a short while ago..... best explain !
Yesterday, a new nurse came, to change my dressing. Unfortunately, she didn't have all of the stuff needed !! So - for a couple of days, it was decided, I could go with-out my Vac-pump thingy. I didn't mind - the chance to go with-out my companion, well - it is great, not to have to carry "Hawking" around with me, everywhere I go !!
Unfortunately - the nurse, bless her, didn't do a very good job of covering things.... so, I asked B to put some extra stuff over the top. Unfortunately - it appears, I have a small problem.... some "red stuff" is showing thru' the white dressings.... Bummer !! As much as I could do with-out "Hawking" around my neck.... if he was still attached, I guess, the "red stuff" would not be showing.... oh well....
At least, I now know why my back is feeling sooooo sore today !! Nevermind - Hopefully - tomorrow - a nurse will come & fix things back together !! Time will tell, on that at least !!
B has just gone by, with a pile of bed linen !! It's amazing how much we get thru.... oh well !!
As for the music of the moment....
I'm listening to the Grateful Dead's 'Europe '72 Vol. 2' 2 Cd set... the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Bertha
2) Me & My Uncle
3) China Town Shuffle
4) Sugaree
5) Beat It Down The Line
6) Loser
7) Next Time You See Me
8) Black-Throated Wind
9) Dire Wolf
10) Greatest Story Ever Told
11) Deal
12) Good Lovin'
13) Playing In The Band
CD 2
1) Dark Star
2) Drums
3) The Other One
4) Sing Me Back Home
5) Note Fade Away
6) Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad
7) Not Fade Away
I'm pretty certain, that I've listed these tracks before - because I went on about how Cd 2 has some long tracks on it !! Oh well - give it a listen... it's really good !!
I also, earlier, gave Neil Young's 'A Letter Home' a listen.... those tracks are:
1) Changes
2) Girl From The North Country
3) Needle Or Death
4) Early Morning Rain
5) Crazy
6) Reason To Believe
7) On The Road Again
8) If You Could Read My Mind
9) Since I Met You Baby
10) My Hometown
11) Wonder If I Care Too Much
Neil Young, with the very helpful Jack White do a number of old songs, back to acetate & then onto Cd !! All very strange - but, also - all really good !! Give it a listen.... make up your own mind, as to "why ?" - heck if I know.... it's just a bit of Neil Young, being Neil Young.... I guess !!
Right - my plans for today.... none at all !!
I must e-mail a couple of people, but that won't be, for a little while. I need to get my back to stop hurting first !! Then, maybe - just maybe... I will catch up on 'Game Of Thrones'. B & I are watching the first 3 seasons, in the hope that season 4 will be in the shops, by the time we finish !! As yet.... well - I'm still looking out for it !!
Right - I must away.... I thank you for your time.... until next time...

'CSNY 1974' & other thoughts... Ho-hum !!
Greetings World's.....
How is your bit of the Universe treating you, this very fine & bright day ?! Life here - well.... more of that, later...
When I was in the hospital, last Summer - one of my fellow bed mates, well...... he had had a bike crash. He & his wife were heading towards North Devon & somehow, somebody had taken them off the road.
Now - we live in an area, where - apart from the French.... more of that later, as well...... a lot of motorcyclists come off &, unfortunately, land up dead. It happened to one guy, while I was in the hospital..... he crashed, at the bottom end of the village. There are some lovely flowers, always, put where he died.
Anyhoo - most of the bikers do come off, thru' travelling too fast. But - when the guy, in the hospital told us, about the crash.... he said "It wasn't my fault !" and - for once, I believed him !! After all, his Wife was on the bike - and she was un-injured..... so, I sort of gave him the benefit, of the doubt. I believed him......
But - well, last night (I think) we had a so called "Super Moon".... and I was looking at the various pictures, on various web pages, before writing these words. What has all of this, got to do with the biker, that I met in the hospital ?!
Well - seeing the pictures of the Moon.... it reminded me, of a conversation the two of us had, about the Apollo Moon landings. He was of the firm belief that no one, nobody at all, had landed on the Moon & the whole American space programme was fictitious !! I am the first one to defend the American's on this..... having grown up, watching the early space flights & seeing those old TV images.
I stayed up - all thru' the night & watched the first images of the 'Apollo 11' guys, actually walk on the Lunar surface..... nothing, anybody can say to me - unless, of course, it's one of the surviving Apollo astronauts - will ever convince me otherwise !! Man has been to the Moon.... and that's about it !!
So - the biker & I came to an agreement.... we agreed, to disagree on the subject !! After a few week, of sharing our thoughts - and several very interesting conversations, he was transferred back to the hospital, in Birmingham. I hope he did Ok - I fancy, altho' I was in the hospital for sooooo many months - he had the worst of it. I only had a bad back.... he had a broken arm & leg, to get repaired & back into use. Oh well.....
Ok - back to the now.......
I've been up a few hours..... and, I'm quite pleased to say, I was able to help B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - put up a double washing line !! Last week, she managed to break one of them, by cutting thru' it with some hedge cutters...... she also did a bit of damaged to the second one, at the same time !!
So - one of my jobs, this morning, was to "Mr Helpful" - and try to put up a new line. In the night, I spent quite a bit of my waking time, trying to think thru' what I was going to do..... As it turned out, I just had to take the old line(s) down & stick the new one up, to replace them !! I was well happy with myself !!
Please remember, I still struggle to walk, unaided - so.... to put a new washing line, altho' it might not seem like much, it meant the World to me !! To be able to do a few odd jobs, around the house - well, it feels good !!
As I type - B has just taken Murphy, back to his house. He had been, in the back garden with the 2 of us + Archie !! He - Archie - is the only one of our cats, who goes anywhere near the Smurf Monster !! Mind you - he is only 12 months old.... so, he has grown up, with Murphy around the place...... It's not unusual, to have the pair of them, here together !!
As for the rest of the family...
Well, B is going into town later... and will take in a visit, to see the M & M's new kitten. I think he is still being called Bruce - which as far as names go, is a pretty good one !! There is a meeting - that B is going to, so... she will do the whole banking & stuff, while she is in town. Me - I'll just stay here & listen to some of my latest Cd's.... which, even for me, are really excessive !!
The only thing, that I will say - in my defense (not that I need one !!) is that, all of the discs that have come my way, over the last week, have been birthday pressy related !! Not even in my wildest dreams, would I have gone into HMV & bought all of these, for myself !! Life has it's ups & downs.......
The "down" part - well.... that would be the lack of any "Happy Birthday" type greetings, from one very important person & one - not quite so important person !! Nevermind....... my life will go on - no matter what !! Having said that - I'll probably die in a few minutes, just to teach me a lesson !! Ho-hum...
At the moment, I'm playing the live set, that I have mentioned before, by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young... simply called 'CSNY 1974'.
It contains 3 live Cd's & a DVD.... the latter is a bit of something & nothing.... only containing 8 tracks. The Cd's - on the other hand - well, it's really a fantastic "Greatest Hits" live !! I think I'm right in saying, it contains 40 tracks.... and.... apart from the massive price.... it's a pretty good collection !!
The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Love The One You're With
2) Wooden Ships
3) Immigration Man
4) Helpless
5) Carry On
6) Johnny's Garden
7) Traces
8) Grave Concern
9) On The Beach
10) Black Queen
11) Almost Cut My Hair
CD 2
1) Change Partners
2) The Lee Shore
3) Only Love Can Break Your Heart
4) Our House
5) Fieldworker
6) Guinevere
7) Time After Time
8) Prison Song
9) Long May You Run
10) Goodbye Dick
11) Mellow My Mind
12) Old Man
13) Word Game
14) Myth Of Sisyphus
15) Blackbird
16) Love Art Blues
17) Hawaiian Sunrise
18) Teach Your Children
19) Suite: Judy Blue Eyes
CD 3
1) Deja Vu
2) My Angel
3) Pre-Road Downs
4) Don't Be Denied
5) Revolution Blues
6) Military Madness
7) Long Time Gone
8) Pushed It Over The End
9) Chicago
10) Ohio
As I say - it's an expensive bunch of stuff - but, if you have any idea, over the guy's back catalog, well... you have some pretty great tunes, all collected into one package !! Ok - some of them, well - if you don't want to pay£60 for this set... there is a single Cd version.... but, that really is a very edited & slightly watered down version, of the above !! You pays your cash & takes your choice.... I'm happy with it tho' !!
What else do I have in front of me....
Well, B bought me a 5 Cd set, of 5 Lp's by Mountain........ one of my real old time favourite bands !! The Lp's are:
'Climbing'
'Nantucket Slieghride'
'Flowers Of Evil'
'Twin Peaks'
'Avalanche'
I already have 2 of the above, on Cd - but.... to get the first 2, on their own, would of been a good buy... to get all 5... heck, that's just a big bonus !! There is a great version of 'Satisfaction' on the last Cd... worth paying for, just to have that one track !!
Also, in front of me.... I have 'Man & Myth' by Roy Harper..... & 'A Letter Home' by Neil Young. Add all of those, to the ones, that I had at the Exeter record fair + at the beginning of the week..... I'm in "Hog Heaven" !! All I have to do now, is find time to give them all a good listen !! That will take a while - I think the CSN & Y Cd's are about 3 hours long..... so, it's going to take a while !!
Right - my plans for today......
Well, hopefully soon.... the nurse will be here, to change my dressings. I'm not looking forward to the deed, but - it would be good, if the nurse could get here, before B has to go out !! It gives me, a little bit of support, to have her here, while the damage is
done !! Oh well..... I'll see how things go, on that, I guess.
I also have to stack a pile of cassette tapes away !! I took some up - last week, but.... as yet, I've not got around to putting them, onto the shelves. I'm glad I decided to do a few 100 at a time !! Otherwise, B would have had tapes all over the place & it would, most certainly, have been my fault, for leaving them, in her way !!
For my sins - and because I'm just sad - I want to do some labels, for the latest Zeppelin Cd's. I know - they come, already labeled....... but, I want to put them all, in one or two cases & leave them, like that. Heck - I know it's sad.... but, it will keep me occupied, for a few minutes !!
Oh - I mentioned, about the French... way up, at the start of this..... "What did I mean ?" I hear you asking...
Well, we do have a nasty habit, of having French motorist, coming towards us, on the wrong side of the road !! It doesn't happen very often - but, too often for my liking !! Please remember..... in England - we drive on the left hand side of the road !! Nevermind..... Happy motoring.....
I must be on my ways..... things to do & stuff like that....
Before I go tho'...
I telephoned a friend, earlier - it's exactly 4 years, to the day, that we attended Sister Meg's funeral..... so, I 'phoned her Husband, a little earlier - to let him know, that we haven't forgotten him, or his fantastic Wife !! A lovely lady & a sad loss, to us all....
Must go... I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words...... until next time...
Bye Bye

Bye Bye

J. Geils Band, Kevin Smith & other stuff !!
Greetings World's !!
I really hope your part of the Universe is treating you well !! It's a very bright & Sunny Friday, here in England.... B is sat a little to my left, drinking a cup of Red Bush tea. I can't stand tea in any form - this stuff looks pretty vile..... oh well..... each to their own I guess.
As mentioned - it's another Friday. I still think of it, as the end of the week. Even tho' I have not worked, in far too many years.... Friday still feels like the end of the "working week" !! Mind you - working as I did - weekends were never really a time for much else, than work...... Nevermind - life has moved on, a very long ways since then !!
Right - having said that B was here - she has gone down to the Dr's surgery, to pick up some of my meds. I will have to put the music up to "11" to make up for being on my own !!
At the moment, I'm listening to the - so called - new version of 'Led Zeppelin 3'. I guess it's alright... tho' I still feel it's a real rip off, especially if you pay top price for it.... in HMV, or someplace like it !! It's only music..... but !!
I should mention the rest of the family.....
I've heard nothing from our Son J....... not that I was expecting to really !! After all, it was only my birthday & stuff !! It's Ok... it really is. I know the reasons, so..... my life will go on, no matter what !!
As for our Daughter & her partner - the M & M's have had a special week !! They now have a new member of their family.... a little black & white kitten, called Bruce !! I've not had the chance, to meet the "little one"....... but, from the pictures, he looks full of fun. I hope he live a ripe old life & ME will have the cat she has always wanted !! Good luck guys.......
Long time readers ("Hi guys") will know, that I've not written anything, since Monday. I'm sorry about that - but, once again - things have got on top of me & I've just not been able to sit & type anything !! Sorry !!
To be fair - I did start a post, on Wednesday (I think) - but, just as I started, the Missionaries arrived & I had to be the polite host, sort of, and give up on the whole typing thing !! I don't mind the guys coming around - but sometimes, I just wish, they would let us know that they are coming by !!
It's Ok - I don't really mind.
I must admit tho'.... I have felt pretty much like crap, for the biggest part of the week & having visitors was not high on my list of things to do !! Sometimes, they - the Missionary guys - don't seem to realise how poorly I feel.... so, the last thing I want, is visitors !! Oh well.... as I wrote above... my life will go on !!
The main reason, for feeling like crap, again... well, that has to be my back wound. It just hasn't been a very good couple of weeks for the thing !!
On Monday, the dressings were changed and, again, on Wednesday. I don't know what the nurse did, on the second day - but, by the evening..... well, I really was hurting !!
As it was, the nurses 'phoned up, to check on me... as they knew I hadn't been too good. B explained I was in a lot of pain & another nurse came out & took the dressing off, to give me some bit of relief, from the Vac pump !!
It really helped & I think, I probably had my first good nights sleep, in over a week !! It was that good.......
Anyhoo - on Thursday, I got in to see my local Dr. - really to get some advice, on what to do. I'm supposed to have this Vac pump dressing on... but, if I can't put up with the pain - what is the point ?!
As it was - we agreed, between us, that I would try to continue with it... and later on, a nurse came out & put the Vac pump dressing back on. That was about 24 hours ago - it feels really good !! I don't know what went wrong, on Wednesday, but heck.... it's been sorted now, thankfully !!
B & I, kind of, think the nurse, on Wednesday, was in too much of a rush... and, because of it, the dressing wasn't put on properly..... hence it hurt sooooo much. It's Ok tho' - if all goes well, I will not need another dressings change, until Monday - time will tell, I guess !!
Going back to music.... I was thinking about how I used to play Zeppelin's albums, thru' a stack of speakers, topped off with a 100 watt amp !! If you put all of that together, with a small - or even a big -room.... well, it really was the way to hurt your ears !!
I used to have a really good pair of Sony headphones..... putting a 100 watt amp, thru' those & it was even better !! I now have a pair of Sennheiser 'phones & they really are the best set I've ever had !! Just right for blasting the dust out the old eardrums !!
B has just come back - complete with 2 bottles of my old pain killing specials.... morphine. Don't mess with medications guys, but... this morphine really does help !! I will, hopefully, come off it, at some point. I no longer take the morphine pills, as well as the liquid..... so, that's pretty good !!
Going back to music - I have had a fantastic week, for new albums..... for pressy's - as it was my birthday & stuff.....
I can't remember all of them, but one of the best has to be another live Grateful Dead album !! This time, it's 'Europe '72 Vol. 2'. As the name would suggest - it's a follow up to their first live album, of (almost) the same name. The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Bertha
2) Me & My Uncle
3) Chinatown Shuffle
4) Sugaree
5) Beat It On Down The Line
6) Loser
7) Next Time You See Me
8) Black-Throated Wind
9) Dire Wolf
10) Greatest Story Ever Told
11) Deal
12) Good Lovin'
13) Playing In The Band
CD 2
1) Dark Star
2) Drums
3) The Other One
4) Sing Me Back Home
5) Not Fade Away
6) Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad
7) Not Fade Away
To be very honest - I've only played the 2nd disc.... it has a 19+ minute 'Dark Star'.... then, the 'The Other One' is 30+ minutes...... so, given that I love playing long, live tracks - those 2 tracks tick all the boxes !!
Add to the above... I had 'The Best Of Jefferson Airplane' - 'The Very Best...' by The Grateful Dead - 'The Best Of...' by Ten Years After - 'Live Chicago 1978' by Talking Heads and - one I've been waiting for.... 'Rock & Roll Telephone' by the fantastic Nazareth !! The latter is a great follow up, to their 'Big Dogz' album, that came out a while back. The version I've got here, has a 7 track bonus Cd... something a bit special !!
I probably had some other stuff, as well.... Oh - I forgot, I also had a Lp. It's simply called 'The J. Geils Band'... and it came out in 1971. I found it in the 2nd hand store, in town - so, that was a bonus, as I had never heard it before. The tracks are:
Side A
1) Wait
2) Ice Breaker (For The Big "M")
3) Cruisin' For A Love
4) Hard Drivin' Man
5) Serves You Right To Suffer
Side B
1) Homework
2) First I Look At The Purse
3) What's Your Hurry
4) On Borrowed Time
5) Pack fair & Square
6) Sno-cone
Altho' I've never heard the studio tracks before - I know most of them from the 3 live albums, that I have been collecting for years !! So - to get this studio album, well - that was great !!
I am very tempted, to get a live package, by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. It's a 3 Cd live set + DVD & a book... but, it's about £60 !! It looks good tho' - so, I might treat myself to it - the next time we find it. I know it's available, on Amazon & probably Play.com.... but, apart from that, I've seen it in HMV. It looks good & has a great selection of tracks... so, I might get a copy..... I'll see how things go !!
Tonight - I'm going to start reading a book, that the M & M's gave me. 'Tough Sh*t - Life & Advice From A Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good' by Kevin Smith. If you have no clue who Kevin Smith is - check him out, he has done some of the best films of the last 20 years, I guess - well, I think so !!
Right - I better be on my ways.... I think I've written enough for today, my fingers are starting to ache, no - not really !! But - I am coming to the end of the current Cd - which has been Led Zeppelin's first album. At the moment, their version of 'Black Mountain Side' is playing. I think the original is slightly better - but, what do I know ?!
I must go.... nothing to do & all night not to do it in !! Such is life - my thank's to Mr Kelly.... I thank you all, for taking the time, to log in & read my words..... until next time...
Bye Bye

"Happy Birthday....." !! Ho-hum..
Hi again Everybody !!
It's a wet & sticky Monday - here in Old England !! I've got to be honest - I wasn't going to write anything today - mainly as I have felt like crap.... since Saturday night really. I spent Saturday, doing this, that & the other... and, by the evening - I started to feel poorly, followed by a very restless night.
That went on... into Sunday - and, I didn't get out of bed once... thru' out the whole day !! I must have got up, at some point, at least once, I'm not super human..... but, it wasn't until today, that I have felt well enough, to come down stairs & try & get on with things !! Oh well....
A little earlier, the nurse came, to do my dressings. That wasn't a lot of fun - one of the worse sessions I've had, in a very long while !! Nevermind - after she had finished.... I crashed out, for a couple of hours, and now - it's 3pm & I'm here writing things down - oh well !!
Ok - as I type - B is upstairs, making my Sister-In-Law a birthday card...... I've only met the lady once, as far as I know..... and that was at B's Mum's funeral. I don't have a lot of time, for B's Brother..... maybe that's for the best.
Anyhoo - B's making a card..... and so, that just leaves me, surrounded with my own cards - playing a Led Zeppelin bootleg, very - very loudly !! Why the cards - it's my birthday !! Yep... "happy birthday to me" !!
We were going to go, into Taunton, today... mainly so I could go into HMV & treat myself to some music. But - feeling like crap... plus, it's really raining hard - well, I hope, we can go in, tomorrow. I will see how things go....
I have to go, into the Dr's - in the morning... so, if it stays dry & I feel Ok - I will see about making the trip then. It's only 10 miles, over the hills..... so, I feel like making the journey, as long as everything goes Ok !!
As for the music of the moment... well, that's the bootleg, I wrote a little about.
It was recorded on February 15th 1975... and, as best as I can remember, it's a complete soundboard tape, of the show. It from New York's Madison Square Garden & the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Sick Again
3) Over The Hills & Far Away
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) The Song Remains The Same
6) The Rain Song
7) Kashmir
CD 2
1) No Quarter
2) Trampled Underfoot
3) Moby Dick
CD 3
1) Dazed & Confused
2) Stairway To Heaven
3) Whole Lotta Love
4) Black Dog
5) Heartbreaker
It's a great concert - only spoilt, for me at least, by the fact - well, it's the basic 1975 concert set least !! So - if you've heard one show - you have pretty much - with a couple of differences, from show to show, heard the lot of them !!
As long time readers will know - I prefer the 1977 set list & the concerts that went along with it !! They were sooooo over the top, great concerts !!
Tomorrow, if all goes well - I will pick up the new version of Zeppelin's second album.... with the extra tracks, on a so called "bonus" disc. If it's anything like the other 2, that I have here, well.... I will wait & see & hope that I enjoy it !!
Right - my plans for today.... none at all really. I'm going to sit back & enjoy what's left of the day & just chill out, hopefully.... by tomorrow, I will feel a shed load better & life will carry on..... time will tell, on that one !!
Even tho' it's my birthday - I don't really feel like celebrating. It's no biggy - just don't feel too much like being the "birthday boy" !! Nevermind....
I thank you all for taking the time to log in & read my words.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Old Play Stations mags... Ho-hum !!
Hi again...
It's a really hot & humid day here.... we went into town, a while ago & it really was too "sticky" for any kind of enjoyment !! Oh well....
It's a Saturday.... and, as I type - B is upstairs, asleep in bed. She hasn't felt too well, for the last few days - so, she is just trying to sleep thru' it. I did try & I laid on the bed, for about 15 minutes - but.....
.... I've had things to do !!
Unfortunately - J has not decided to get in contact - with B..... as I've written before !! He hates my guts - that I can understand, but - to take his anger, for me, out on B... via text messages - well, that's just too much !!
So - this last hour or so, I've been in his old bedroom..... putting stuff in boxes !! I didn't realise just how much there was up there !! So - I've just come down - to have a break & to get a drink of water. After going thru' his stuff - I needed to get away from it, for a few minutes, at least !!
Luckily, with have a few boxes - still here, from when the M & M's moved into their house... so, at least I can put them to good use !! From there - I guess.... I will have to go to the dump, or some place - maybe a charity shop..... I'll have to wait & see !! I mean - who wants 60+ discs, that came with the old 'Play Station' magazines...... which, I'm guessing we bought, for him, over the years.
One of them, had a sales ticket from 2006 !! I'm guessing he didn't use that one !! Nevermind...... it will all make room, for some other stuff. I'm certain B will spread her craft stash over a wider area, given half the chance !!
Because B is asleep - I'm not playing any music, at the moment..... it didn't seem fair, to keep her awake !! Bless her......
Right - I must away, back into the trash !!..... I'm not going to do much more, today.... my back is really hurting now !! Which reminds me....
I wrote about the dressing & how it had come "undone" - or whatever. Well - the nurse said she would come out, on Wednesday night..... really late, which I didn't think it was worth bothering them, not at Midnight, or whatever it would of been.
Anyhoo - I waited here, on Thursday...... & - in the end, the nurse came back to me, about 6 or 7pm, on Thursday night !! That was a real bummer !! It had really started to hurt, by the time they actually changed it !! Oh well - it was done... and, another nurse came out, yesterday..... !! I don't think it helped the wound too much - waiting all day.... but, it's all done now, sooooo - my life goes on !!
I thank you all, for taking the time, to log in & read my words - when I have more time, I'll get some music playing & tell you all what it is !! So - I'm away.... until next time...

Little Steven & loads of other stuff !!
Hi again everybody !!
It's a bout 9am - here in England.... a very bright & Sunny day... almost a "glorious" day really !! One of those days, that just want to make you smile !! Ok - if you have had a late night & an equally early morning - you might not want to smile - but, I'm full of happiness today.... so, unless something "orrid" happens - I intend on staying happy !!
Before anybody moans at me... about being sooooo happy this morning - I've done all of my share, of getting up early, in the morning & going off to work !! My longest ever shift was 42 hours !! I do know what it's like to so tired - you don't know what to do with yourself.... I've been there, I really have. Today tho' - I'm just upbeat & happy with life !!
As I type - I'm home alone....
B has gone into town, to meet with a long time... well, a friend. I'm not really sure how long they have know each other.... but, they are meeting up for a drink & a good gossip, no doubt !!
She has only just left home... leaving me here - typing these words & listening to some old Rush !! I'm actually playing the first Rush Lp !! I dug out my surviving Lp's & I'm giving a few of them a play thru'.... a kind of "vinyl only" morning !! The tracks are:
Side A
1) Finding My Way
2) Need Some Love
3) take A Friend
4) Here Again
Side B
1) What You're Doing
2) In The Mood
3) Before & After
4) Working Man
'Here Again' is playing.... at 7 min. 30 sec. long - for me, it's one of the bands most underrated tracks !! I haven't played it, in probably years - but, it's bringing back all of the memories of a very low spot, in my life !! Nevermind..... check out the lyrics.... fantastic !!
I wish I had gone out, with B... but - I have to stay home & wait for a nurse to come.... bummer !! The dressing that was put on, yesterday... well, late last night, it came apart - another bummer !! We did call for advice - bless them, they were quite happy to come out, about Midnight & work on it, there & then !!
As it was - I didn't want to have to put them out.... even if they do work a 24 hour shift system !! So - B put a temporary dressing over the top & today... at some point... a nurse is coming out, to fix it properly !! Oh well.... it just means, that I'm stuck here, for now at least.....
Just changed the Lp... I'm now playing the old "import" Lp of Deep Purple's 'Last Concert In Japan'. I paid a bit of money, for this album, when I first saw it...... now, of course, I've got the 2 Cd version !!
The tracks on the Lp are:
Side A
1) Burn
2) Love Child
3) You Keep Me Moving
4) Wild Dogs
Side B
1) Lady Luck
2) Smoke On The Water
3) Soldier Of Fortune
4) Woman From Tokyo
5) Highway Star
As long time readers will know - I do enjoy a bit of the Purp's from time to time !! Heck - I have a 2 Cd set - from the fair, last weekend.... I should get around to playing that, at some point !! This Lp is a bit of fun tho'....
It has Tommy Bolin, on guitar.... and features his solo piece 'Wild Dogs' - from his brilliant 'Teaser' album. If you buy - or somehow, get hold of the 'Deluxe' version of the album... there is an extended 'Wild Dogs', which clocks in at nearly 14 minutes - well good !!
Going back, to what I was saying about staying home, today...
B has also told me, that the Missionaries might be here, at some point.... !! It seems that they came around, while I was sick - in bed - earlier in the week, so.. today they are coming back to see me !!
I don't mind.... maybe they should help the nurse, change the dressings !! Now... that would be a bit of fun. No - really... I wouldn't put them thru' that !! They put up with a lot - changing dressings is a little too much !!
Talking of a little too much...
Last night, quite late... there was a TV programme, about Samantha Lewthwaite. Her husband was one of the guys, who bombed London.
Now then... let me say, off the bat - I'm totally against, what those guys did & I personally would of been one of the first people, to grab them and put them up against a wall, for what they did.... but, I did find the TV programme interesting !! I don't know why... I just did !!
It was a very interesting bit of television - which, in the Michael Moore style, begs the question.... "what were our police doing" !! She seems to have done various things - so, why did n't somebody, somewhere, keep tabs on her ?! Oh well.... "Hats off" to the BBC tho' - a good bit of television & that's for sure !!
'Wild Dogs' is playing now.... a great track.... I've always loved it, ever since I first heard this version !! Go & buy his albums... Tommy Bolin, a great guitarist..... Oh well.
I might have mentioned - I gave some books, to the M & M's to put on e-bay. Well, ME came around yesterday & took 2 of them, with her. They made a bit of cash for them - not much, but just a little extra !! We all know, what it's like - starting out... so, I wish I could help them more !!
Anyways - back to the books.... one of them didn't sell. No big deal, but, B found something interesting. The earliest know mention of a "hedge" in this country, is from AD 816.... and it just happens to be, in the very village, where B grew up, as a little one !! Ok - she still is only just over 5ft tall.... but, you get my meaning !!
I find that kind of spooky... for us, at least... it's a bit weird !!
Just going back to music - for a little while.....
I've probably written this before - but, unless you are a real "die hard" Led Zeppelin fan, avoid the re-issues of the bands Cd's !! They have done the first 3 - so far, with a bonus disc of stuff. I'm a bit Zep fan - but, these Cd's are a real rip off.... totally a missed opportunity, by the guys to have put something "new" out for sale !!
The "super deluxe" versions, of the things, are on sale - at HMV - for £99 !! Come on guys - that's just a joke.... unless, as I say - you are a serious collector of their stuff !! It's crazy..... why pay that much, just to get a few bonus tracks, and some heavy duty vinyl Lp's ?! Crazy... off the wall crazy !!
I've got the first & third albums, so far... and, even for me... they really do stink of trying to get cash, out of people !! Stay away from them - unless you have deep pockets & no brain, to tell you other wise !!
Going back - to Saturday... I picked up a copy of a Rush album called 'Spirit Of The Airwaves'. It's a live concert thingy - from a 1980 USA radio broadcast.... it's far better than the one, that came out, from a 1974 concert. The first 6 tracks are '2112'.... so, starting from track 7:
7) By-Tor & The Snow Dog
8) Xanadu
9) The Spirit Of Radio
10) Natural Science
11) Beneath, Between. Behind
12) Working Man
13) Finding My Way
14) Anthem
15) Bastille Day
16) In The Mood
17) Drum Solo
18) La Villa Strangiato
Ok - a lot of the tracks, well - they are only part of a medley of stuff... but, it's pretty good !! Give it a listen !! I've just changed the music over to a bit of Little Steven.... his 'Freedom - No Compromise' Lp !! The tracks are:
Side A
1) Freedom
2) Trail Of Broken Treaties
3) Pretoria
4) Bitter Fruit
Side B
1) No More Parties
2) Can't You Feel The Fire
3) Native American
4) Statuary
There is nothing like a bit of Little Steven, at 9.30am - just to brake the dust off things !! I loved his DVD - featuring 2 of his concerts at 'Rockpalast' in 1982 & 1984..... especially the latter one....
It's really good - even if, by his own admission, he had to trim the band back, between the 2 concerts, thru' lack of cash !! I know that feeling !! If you get chance - check out his other solo albums.... I only have 3, but they are all worth your money...
I'm still amazed at Metallica's Pilton concert..... an inspired headline act & that's for sure !! I enjoyed Robert Plant's one hour BBC show, as well..... I really must give it another listen, I enjoyed it first time thru'..... all a bit of fun & you could tell, the guys (in the band) were having a great gig as well !!
I just a second or two, away from the keyboard - to put some more washing, into the machine.... I get quite domesticated at times !! Living alone - for 18 months, before I met B - well, that kind of brings out the "Inner Man" in us guys !!
Ok - that was a long time ago - but, I got by... !!
It's a pity, that a nurse is coming out, to do my dressings again.... it's not too painful, at the moment & - I know - as soon as the lady, or man, get their hands on me... well, listen out for the screams !! I like a bit of fun, with them - as they change things over..... it helps, to have a bit humour, or else I would just give up......
..... as I nearly did yesterday !!
There are times, when the pain gets too bad & I can't help but dwell on things. When that happens, I get very down in the dumps.... kind of low !! It's hard to be "happy" all of the time..... and - after over a year of having a hole in my back.... well, I'm really fed up with that !!
B had a few texts, from our Son - J..... He is very pissed off with us at the moment !! I know he hates my guts - but, I wish he wouldn't take it out on his Mum !! All she has done wrong, is to basically stay with me.... well, that's about it really. I guess, he would rather that he had grown up, in a single parent home, instead of with the 2 of us ?!
I don't know what else to say about him really.... I hope he is going to be happy. Just blame me, for everything my Son. "Live long & prosper" as you said, at your little talk, when you left Primary School !!
I might not have the greatest memory going - but, you.... both of you, my children, have made me proud !! If I should die, before seeing you again... remember, I am proud of you.
That was a little deep.... sorry about that. "said the Dalek - as he climbed off the dustbin - anyone can make a mistake" !! My thank's to Roy.... for that bit of wisdom !! May your shorts ever protect you in cold weather..... but, £10 for a kilo of Lego - "No way" !! I'll let it gather some more dust - for a while at least.... along with my
models !!
Which reminds me - I've not had any, for a little while.... I'll check to see what is on it's way to me !! What the heck, my decedents - if any - will make of all of the things, that I have collected, over the years.... well, I have no idea !! But - hopefully, this old fart will make some one happy, at some point !!
Right - my plans - for today...
I started clearing up the computer table, yesterday... so, I should continue with that, I guess. Now that I have a bundle of cases - I have no real excuse, for having Cd's all over the place !! Better get onto it...
I must away....
As always.... my thank's for your time & for logging in, to read my words... until next time...
Bye Bye

Bye Bye

Page & Plant.. Japan 1996.
Greetings World's !!
This is the first post of July !! For some reason, I completely forgot to write anything yesterday.... I'll put it down to old age & failing brain cells !! Actually, I'm just going to put it down to the failing brain cells. Never admit to getting old - you always remain young.... it's just your body that gets a bit bigger, nothing else....
Right - it's a really bright day, here in the South-West of England..... there are some big puffy clouds, out there.... but, it's not too bad a of a day !!
B has just gone out - with Murphy - our neighbour's dog. She was going to walk down to the local surgery - to put in a repeat prescription request - and decided to take the Bear, that is known as Murphy, along for the walk !!
Ok - I know, I shouldn't be such an old misery guts..... but, it's not our dog !! The guys Wife left him ages ago ..... he should be getting things sorted out, by now !! I was all for helping him - when the Wife left....... but, I didn't realise just how much, or how long he expected us - mainly B - to do all of this !!
Nevermind....
Our Daughter, ME, is coming over later on...... She is not working, today - so, I suspect B & her will have a long talk, about this, that, J - our Son - and your's truly !!
I have all but given up.... I really have...... there is only sooooo much I can put up with & I'm fast approaching my bloody limit !! Oh well...... my life goes on & on !!
As for the music of the moment...
I'm listening to a 4 Cd set, by Page & Plant, recorded during their 1996 tour of Japan. It's a bit of a compilation & it more or less contains all of the different tracks, that they played during the 10 nights, of the tour...... all except one... 'Celebration Day' !! The remaining tracks are:
CD 1
1) Wanton Song
2) Bring It On Home
3) Heartbreaker
4) Ramble On
5) Thank You
6) Custard Pie
7) Black Dog
8) Tangerine
9) The Rain Song
10) No Quarter
CD 2
1) When The Levee Breaks
2) Gallows Pole
3) Wonderful One
4) Going To California
5) Ten Years Gone
6) That's The Way
7) Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You
CD 3
1) Nobody's Fault But Mine
2) The Song Remains The Same
3) Since I've Been Loving You
4) Whole Lotta Love
5) Tea For One
6) Friends
CD 4
1) Dancing Days
2) Yallah
3) Four Sticks
4) In The Evening
5) Kashmir
6) What It & What Should Never Be
7) Rock & Roll
I'm just listening to it - for the first time, in ages.... trying to see if it will fit onto 3 Cd's - rather than 4 "short-ish" ones. Why ? - well.... it will give me something to do - should I need to kill a little time !! Life goes on.... but, sometimes, I need to take my mind off of things !!
The postman has just been... with a package of Cd cases, which some how didn't get into the package, that I ordered & collected, last Saturday !! Bless R's little short legs - he can talk for England, he really can.... but, I wish he had sorted out the cases, on the day !! Nevermind.....
I might have written this, before - but, I'm also missing one Cd - from a 3 Cd set, by the Grateful Dead !! I only spotted that, once we were home..... bit of a bummer, but it will get sorted, further down the road !!
If you heard screaming - this morning - it was only me !! The nurse came over, to change my dressings again. It seems to be getting better, so that's a good thing !! Maybe, just maybe, I won't need the next surgery, after all..... that would be a bonus !! It will depend on what the Consultant says, on the 23rd - when I see him again. Time will tell, on that one......
June has been a very strange month !!
For the first time, in a goodly many years, I am in contact with my elder Brother & - my "Little Sister" from America !! I don't have any contact with them, in ages & now... well, it's a weird life & that's for sure !! Lets hope things continue..... I hope so, I really do !!
Ok - I must be on my ways.....
I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words. I really do thank you for your time - one day, I just might write something worth reading !! Ho-hum..... until next time...
