Allman Brothers - 'Hollywood Bowl 1972'

Greetings World's !!

Wherever you might be, in what ever Universe - or whatever planet....... if you are reading my words "Hello !!"

It's a Sunday - here in the hot & humid South-West of England.... the sky is blue, with small puffy white clouds, drifting across. Over, towards the sea, it looks really blue & inviting..... not for me tho' !! No way...

Ok - so why am I posting, on The Lords Day.... better known as a Sunday !! To explain.......

For some dumb reason, I've not been able to get myself together, over the last few months. B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has put it down, to the fact that I've been poorly now, for over a year.... since May of last year, particularly, since the first back surgery.....

No matter what I try & do - my heart is really not in it & I usually give up & move on to something else !!

For example - I normally send my friends, some Cd's from time to time - but, getting things together & posting them off.... it hasn't really be happening !!

So - today... even if it is a Sunday & I should be at Church.... I'm home alone & I've decided to give myself, a kick in the pants... to make sure I get things done & not just forgotten about, until another day !!

Sooooo with all of that, in mind.... I've set myself, a small task & I'm determined to get it done - with out me giving up, part ways thru' !! I'm only going to clear my computer table off & put stuff away - it might not sound too big a deal.... but, believe me... it needs doing & that's a fact !!

As mentioned - I'm home alone.... B has gone into town, to get some emergency supplies & take in a visit, to the M & M's home - just to see if they're at home.... she'll be back, in about an hour, I guess....

So - as I'm here..... the music of the moment is my latest Allman Brothers Cd - which I picked up, in Exeter, on Wednesday..... the tracks are:

  1) Statesboro' Blues
  2) Done Somebody Wrong
  3) One Way Out
  4) Stormy Monday
  5) You Don't Love Me
  6) Trouble No More
  7) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
  8) Whipping Post
  9) Johnny B Goode
10) Dust My Broom

It was recorded in 1972, at the Hollywood Bowl.... and, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure if it's a bootleg ?! I bought it, in HMV - in Exeter... but, it doesn't sound too good, to have been an official release. I'll have to look into it, a bit more !!

Two things of note - it's the 5 piece band....  recorded after Duane Allman's death - but, before the death of bass player Berry Oakley !! It's a real bit of music history !!

Add to the above.. Johnny Winter joins in, on the last 2 tracks - so..... it pretty good & certainly worth having in the collection & that's for sure !! Well good !!

Ok - I must away... I only switched the computer on, to do an e-mail.... so, I best think about that & move on. As always - I thank you for logging in & reading my words...until next time..

Bye Bye
