More Fort Worth loudness !!

Greetings Everyone !!

It's a cold & dismal Thursday, here in England - it's bright enough, out thru' the window... but, everything is wet & not nice, if you follow my meaning ?! Oh well...

I'm up bright & early, this fine day !! I'm supposed to have a parcel, at some point, during the day - but, as I have no exact time of delivery & B is out, well - I'm up early, just incase it gets here. Had I stayed in bed - I would of no doubt, gone back to sleep..... that would not of been good !! Nevermind...

I suspect, that the parcel will get here, sometime this afternoon - just my luck really !! Oh well.... By that time, B will be on her ways home..... time will tell !!

Anyhoo - with B out of the house, the music is blasting out really loud !! More of that later..... first 'Game Of Thrones' and how they have changed the plot line !! !!

I know !! I've said I would give up thinking too much, about how the TV seasons differ from the books - but....  Season 5 has really given me a curve ball !! I refer to the whole Ramsey Bolton & Sansa Stark getting married twist !!

If you read the books - you will all know, that the Bolton bastard married a girl, who was pretending to be Sansa's younger Sister - Arya. The thing being, that the North would re-unite, if a Stark was on the board, at Winterfell. So what do the writers do - they forget the whole plot........ and have Sansa go to Winterfell, to marry Ramsey !!

Ok - I know, we're only on episode 3 of the season - but !! If you're like me & have read the books, well - I was waiting to see how the TV series would deal with that whole plot. Now - they've given me something different to watch.... all very strange !!

Nevermind.... my dumb life will go on, I guess.... but.... it was something I was surprised to see. Hopefully, the writers will not change much more..... I was looking forward, to the bit where Tyrion was captured by the slavers !! Oh well.......

Right..moving on.....

The music of the moment, is the mighty Led Zeppelin & their 1977 concert from Fort Worth, Texas. I was given a copy, quite a while ago now.... but, it's still worth a listen, if you get the chance. I've listed the tracks, a while back - but, they are:

CD 1

1) The Song Remains The Same
2) Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
6) No Quarter

CD 2

1) Ten Years Gone
2) The Battle Of Evermore
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman
5) Bron-Y- Aur Stomp
6) White Summer/Black Mountain Side
7) Kashmir

CD 3

1) Moby Dick
2) Guitar Solo
3) Achilles Last Stand
4) Stairway To Heaven
5) Whole Lotta Love/Rock & Roll
6) It'll Be Me

One of Bad Co. join the band, on the last track..... Mick Ralphs .... I have a lot of the 1977 shows, probably too many, but playing this one concert, has really made me realise just how good the band were on stage !! I'm the first to agree - some of the stuff they played... well, they were a little "over the top" - but... !!

As always - don't buy bootlegs !! Buy all of the official stuff - by any band - first..... give the live shows a listen, if you get chance - but, don't pay money for them !!

The music has come to an - sooooo.... I'm now playing Cream's 'Wheels Of Fire' album. That is to say, the live second disc, which was recorded at "The Fillmore" on March 7th. 8th. and 10th 1968. The tracks are:

1) Crossroads
2) Spoonful
3) Traintime
4) Toad

This was another of those must have albums.... and, of course, I had a copy on Lp !! Now - well, I've sold that copy (for a nice profit) and have the Cd version of the thing. Why not - the vinyl stuff was only taking up space & over the years, I've replaced the load of them, on Cd !!

When I was at college - I went really late in life - I did a talk (as you have to) about Led Zeppelin bootleg Cd's. My whole point, of the talk, really was how, over the years Lp bootlegs had been replaced by Cd versions.... and how those Cd's allowed the much longer tracks to be released, without the need to edit them over 2 sides of vinyl, as they often were.

It's the same, with official live Cd's - for example Rainbow's 'On Stage' album. Ok - the longer tracks were on one side, of the old Lp version.... but, with the re-release of that album, it was expanded, with extra tracks, that were not on the original Lp !!

Cd's had that effect, on bootlegs - the longer tracks were released, as one long track... for a collector, that had to be good. There was nothing worse, than having to turn a Lp over, half way thru' a track !! Oh well....

My tutor - well.... he made the point that Cream had released long tracks, on Lp.... which is true. The 'Wheels Of Fire' album had 2 long tracks on it - neither of which lasted much beyond the 15+ minute mark. But - bootleg Cd's - and some newer official Cd's - have allowed for much longer tracks.

Oh well - enough of music....

I must be on my ways.... I hope the parcel will be here sooner, rather than later !! I think it's probably going to be my "Box" from the Allman's site 'Hittin' The Note'. I hope so - I've the Cd's for a while now.... so, the box to put them in, would be good !!

I do get a bit pissed off tho' - mainly as I've had to pay another $40 give or take, just to have them brought thru' Customs !! It's a real pain in the butt, when you order something - pay the going price, then get hit with an extra "tax" on top... just to have it in your hands !! Never mind...

I must away...

I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words.... I really do enjoy seeing, who has logged in, from Italy, Germany & the rest of the World. Again, I thank you..... until next time..

Iced Earth 'Alive In Athens'

Greetings World's !!

It's a very bright & breezy Tuesday, here in England's South-West corner....... I looked out of the bedroom window, an hour or two back & the beach was looking really warm. Either that, or I had the heating up too high !! No really - it was of those day, where I could look right across to South Wales. It's a shame it is only April & not the middle of Summer. Never mind !!

Ok... I'm home alone this afternoon. B has taken a neighbour, into Taunton, to the hospital. I'm not really sure what for - but, her children were not in a position to drive her in, sooooo B is doing the honours. The two of us don't mind helping her out, mainly as she has always been one of our nicest neighbours. She has always been good to us - so, it's nice to be able to help her out, once in a while.

Plus, she was getting herself all worked up, about where to go - once at the hospital - so, B was more than happy to take her to the right department !! I've nearly been in all of them, over the last few years or so.... which means, B will be able to take her right to the exact spot !!

I'm not sure when they will be home - but, I doubt if it will be for an hour or so. Time will tell on that one, I guess... I'll see both of them, when they get back.

If you've looked for my words, yesterday - well.... I'm sorry to say I spent the biggest part of the day, in bed & pretty zonked out of it. It was a bit of a bummer really !! I hadn't felt too good, as last week, went into the weekend - but, by Sunday night... well, I was more or less out of it.... nevermind.

I spent the biggest part of the day asleep - apart from a quick visit down to the local surgery, to have my dressings changed. As always - that's something that I could do with-out.... but, I'm told the wound is getting smaller - well, it couldn't get much bloody bigger, could it !!

I still have this insane hope, that it will be all done and dusted, by May 28th !! That's one month from today !! I didn't realise what the date was... oh well !! Anyhoo - if it is all healed up, by the 28th - that would be really good..... I can always hope - what is life, with-out hope ?!

Heck, compared to the last couple of years, another month will be no big deal - I'm sure it will all come together, at some point or another. If I was a gambling man, I would watch this space !!

As for the rest of the family - well, our Daughter is home, playing chase the cat & our Son, well, I've no idea where he is, at the moment !! If either of them want anything, they know we will only be too happy, to do what we can, for the pair of them !!

As for the music of the moment...

Well, I'm playing Iced Earth's 3 Cd 'Alive In Athens'.... I had the album, for a few years now, but I never seem to play it very often - it's well good, but !! Anyways - the tracks are:

CD 1

  1) Burning Years
  2) Vengeance Is Mine
  3) Pure Evil
  4) My Own Savior
  5) Melancholy (Holy Martyr)
  6) Dante's Inferno
  7) The Hunter
  8) Travel In Stygian
  9) Slave To The Dark
10) A Question Of Heaven

CD 2

  1) Dark Saga
  2) The Last Laugh
  3) Last December
  4) Watching Over Me
  5) Angels Holocaust
  6) Stormrider
  7) The Path I Choose
  8) I Died For You
  9) Prophecy
10) Birth Of The Wicket
11) The Coming Curse
12) Iced Earth
13) Colours

CD 3

1) Stand Alone
2) Cast In Stone
3) Desert Rain
4) Brainwashed
5) Disciples Of The Lie
6) When The Night Falls
7) Diary
8) Blessed Are You
9) Violate

I guess part of the reason, that I don't play it very often, has to be down to it's over all length !! I've never really thought too much about it before - but... it's really long. It's not the sort of thing, that I'm likely to play end to end, especially in the car, if B & I are going any where. I can't imagine My Wife & Dearest Friend putting up with 3 hours of heavy rock, while we're going into town, or anywhere for that matter !!

Talking of going places...

This coming Saturday, there is a record fair - down in Exeter. I hope, if all goes well, that we will make the journey down...... if nothing else, to meet up with a few people. As always, there are a few (more than a few) things I'm interesting in finding.... but, nothing that can't wait !!

I would like to pick up the latest Gov't Mule releases & there is a friend, who normally has some of their stuff - so I might be lucky !! Plus - there is a new Joe Bonamassa live set, which I only found out about, when I was going thru' an old magazine, last night.... sooooo many things & as always, too few brain cells to listen to them all with... ho-hum !!

It would be good, just to go out for the day - to go to Exeter & not have to go to the hospital !! Oh well... I'll see how things pan out, I guess.....

Right - my plans for today...

With B out of the house, for a while longer, I want to go thru' a bunch of DVD's & try to work out what they each contain. I kid you not - I really do get myself into a muddle, when I forget to list things as I go !! Not just DVD's - but Cd's & magazines as well.....

So - that's a plan..... well, it is a kind of plan !! I know there are about 15 'Andromeda' episodes, mixed in with all of the discs - sooooo, I must try & find them, at some point & put them in the right order.

I'm lucky enough, to have a printed out list, in which order they were originally broadcast - so I can work my ways thru' that & tick the boxes as I go along. It won't take too long.... but, at least I can get them sorted out - just a bit at least !!

So, for now, I will be on my ways.... thank you all, for taking the time to log in & read my words.. until next time...

'Yessongs' and a never completed list !!

Greetings !!

I hope you're all doing well, in your parts of the various Universes you live in ?! It's a Sunday, here in England.... it looks kind of manky, outside - not really raining & not really Sunny either !! Oh well...

As I type, My Wife & Dearest Friend - B - is upstairs, using her sewing machine.... every now & again, I hear the motor turn over. I think she is working on some kind of bag.... she was here, a short while ago, cutting around a pattern, that she marked onto some cloth. It all looks too complicated, for my old brain, at least !!

Now then - being a Sunday, I should be at Church... but, after what I can call a very dismal night, I decided to stay at home, for this week at least & try to get my head back together with the rest of my body !!

Sometimes, I can't get myself together & I just regret feeling like crap.... but, as B keeps telling me "you've been sick !!" sooooo - I have to accept my various limitations & take one day at a time !! Sooner or later, things will sort themselves out - just not today tho' !!

Today - as I type, that is... The Hobbit 'Battle Of The 5 Armies' is playing quietly, over on the TV. I must buy the official release, this coming week. I will also pick up the extended version - whenever that hits the shops - I'm guessing that won't be for quite a few months yet
 - oh well !!

As for the music of the moment & the main reason for switching the computer on & writing this ol' blog of mine today... well, that's 'Yessongs' by Yes. If you've not heard of it - it's an old 3 Lp set, that came out in 1973. It was, for "Prog-Rock" fans, one of those must have albums !! The tracks are:

  1) Opening - 'The Fire Bird Suite'
  2) Siberian Khatru
  3) Heart Of The Sunrise
  4) Perpetual Change
  5) And You & I
  6) Mood For A day
  7) Keyboard Solo
  8) Roundabout
  9) I've Seen All Good People
10) Long Distance Runaround
11) Close To The Edge
12) Yours Is No Disgrace
13) Starship Trooper

Ok - I missed out all of the various sub-titles.... plus, I'm playing the 2 Cd version - but, it's still a good listen !! I didn't actually plan to put it anywhere near the Cd players - but, I found it & decided "why not" and decided to give it a good play thru' !! Great stuff !!

Right - my plans for the rest of the day... none at all !!

I do intend to sort thru' a bundle of Cd's - I've even made a bit of space for them !! I guess I'll try & start with the latter "A" groups & work thru' from there onwards.

Luckily, a few years back, I started to list everything.... but, as with most things, over the last few years, my body gave up on me & the list never got anywhere near being complete !!

Plus, of course, I've added to the collection... sooooo - I'll have to start over I guess. Never mind, it will all come together in the end - I hope !!

For now, I will be on my ways... as always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words... until next time...

A lot of memories.... mostly good !!

So - Greetings World's !!

I always feel, that the day after St. George's Day, is a bit of an anti-climax !! For me, I have sooooo many, many memories of this day (April 24th) over the years, it's hard to remember which order they come in !! There is one day, that I will always remember - that April in 1986........ 29 years ago.

I had been up, for the whole night of April 23rd, not knowing what was going to happen next........ I had many choices. I could stay at home, maybe to get some sleep. I could go into town & book a ticket on an airplane. I could try & kill myself. But, I chose to get myself together & go to work. I chose the latter.... it seemed the right thing to do.

So, I drove the 12 miles to the farm & waited for everyone to leave our little communal area, where we all met up, before starting work...... I waited until all, but one, had left, my immediate boss. I had 'phoned him, the night before - when I had got home & found the situation I was in. I wanted to let him know that I, just maybe, might not be into work, the following day.

He was surprised & pleased that I made the effort & hadn't stayed home....... he knew my state of mind. As it was - I told him, that I hadn't heard anything & I went on & started work..... my mind wasn't on it, but.... it was the right thing to do.

I told one of the ladies - about the night before - and I knew she would tell the rest of the ladies..... so, in that respect, it was easier.... rather than having to tell each one - one at a time !! Bit by bit, as they heard the news & came up to me, to say sorry & giving me the odd hug. It was really nice to hear their words & feel their warmth.

Then, about 10am - my boss came running in & told me there was a 'phone call, so - I went to the office, to see what was going to happen.

It was my Wife...... well, my ex-Wife now. She was in Bermuda - and she told me, what I already knew - she wasn't coming home and - well, it was the end of our relationship. It was short conversation - there wasn't much to say really...... for some reason, her Mum told me that she was very "bitter", over what had happened, all very strange !!

My Ex had left our home, minutes after my leaving for work. She had then, with her Bastard Father's* help, gone up to Heathrow & had boarded a plane to Bermuda. All of this had happened, before I had left work - coming home, to an empty house & home.

From that day - April 23rd 1986 - until this day, I have never seen my ex-Wife again. I have spoken to her, only once more, 2 days after that first 'phone call - there wasn't much point in speaking to her again. At the time, it hurt like hell, but - over the years, I have forgiven her... but, as these words must point out, to all of you reading, I have never forgotten.

Of course - the one thing I've not written about... the fact, that she took with her, our 10 month old Son. From that day - in 1986, until over 20 years later, I never saw my Son again.... that's what really hurts, even to this day !! Our Marriage was over - but, taking our Son, with-out giving me the chance, to say "goodbye" - that hurt has never left me.....

Life has gone on & all of these years later, I have met My Wife & Dearest Friend - B - and we have two children - J our Son & ME our Daughter. I love them all so very much, I cannot truly put it all into words. My life has gone on & thru' all of the last 29 years, I have had my ups & downs..... but, I'm still here..... and no matter what has happened in the past, my life has gone on. I have a lot of memories, mostly good ones, I'm pleased to say !!

I have also made friends with some great people over the years & they have all helped, in one way or another, get me thru' all of the stuff that has gone on, in this old life of mine !! Most have dropped by the wayside, but at least one has stayed the course with me. So my thanks, to my "Little Sister" - for still hanging in there.... !!

"So, here I am once more"

It's a Friday & I'm home alone. B has gone into town, for a get together - some kind of carer's group thingy - then, if all goes well, she is going around to see ME. A bit later on, I have to go down to have my dressings changed..... but, that's not for a while !!

Going back two days - to Wednesday - I had to go down, to see the plastic surgeon, in the Exeter hospital. I'm pleased to say, from his stand point, I will not - at this stage - need anymore operations !! I'm well pleased about that - after 10 surgeries, in under 2 years - well.... I've had enough !!

I guess, if things go wrong & the whole wound thing gets infected again, things might need looking at, but, I'm hoping that won't happen.... I've really had enough with hospitals !!

So - after seeing one of my Consultant's last week & this Consultant, this week... things are really starting to look up !! I cannot tell you just how happy I feel about all of that !! Life is starting to get better... it really is !! I just need to get myself back to fighting fitness & we can start to enjoy our self's again !!

As for the music of the moment.... well, I'm listening to Within Temptation's Antwerp concert, from their 'Let It Burn' box set. The tracks are:

  1) Intro
  2) Iron
  3) In The Middle Of The Night
  4) Faster
  5) Fire & Ice
  6) Our Solemn Hour
  7) Stand My Ground
  8) Angels
  9) Sanctuary Intro
10) The Last Dance
11) Say My Name
12) Candles
13) Sinead
14) The Promise
15) Mother Earth
16) Ice Queen
17) Stairway To The Stars

It's funny - but, thinking about the last 29 years - I have come across sooooo much music, it's kind of un-real !! It's true - "Music helps the World go around" !! I'm not sure where that phrase came from - but, it has certainly helped my World, over all these years !!

Right - my plans for today.....

Well - I'm going to watch the 2nd part of Season 5 of 'Game Of Thrones'. I've kind of given up, with the whole "that didn't happen in the book" type of thing !! It's just a bit of fun, great TV - so, what the heck ? If it doesn't follow the books.... they are just as good, but.... Forget the exactness of the TV show, there are too many things, in the books, to transfer over to the small screen. Nevermind, I must away !!

I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words... from Australia, right thru' Asia, America, Europe & of course those of you in England. I find it very rewarding, to know you guys are "out there".... so,

With a quick - * He hated being reminded of this fact, but after he did what he did, I don't really give a shit !! He died in 2012 - but, he turned out to be a nasty piece of work !!

I must go... until next time....

Bye Bye

April 23rd..... thank's for every thing !!

'Independence Day' by Bruce Springsteen.

Well Papa go to bed now it is getting late
Nothing we can say is gonna change anything now
I'll be leaving in the morning from St. Mary's Gate
We wouldn't change a thing even if we could somehow
Cause the darkness of house has got the best of us
There is a darkness in this town that's got us too

But they can't touch me now
And you can't touch me now
They ain't gonna do to me
What I watched them do to you

So say goodbye it's Independence Day
It's Independence Day
All down the line
Just say goodbye it's Independence Day
It's Independence Day this time

Now I don't know what it always was with us
We chose the words & we drew the lines
There just was no way this house could hold the two of us
I guess that we were just too much of the same kind

Well say goodbye it's Independence Day
It's Independence Day all boys must run away
So say goodbye it's Independence Day
All men must make their way come
Independence Day

Now the rooms are all empty down at Frankie's joint
And the highway is deserted clear down to Breaker's Point
There is a lot of people leaving town now
         leaving their friends, their homes
All night they walk that dark & dusty highway all alone

Well Papa go to bed now, it's getting late
Nothing we can say can change anything now
Because there's just different people
coming down here now & they see things in different ways
And soon everything we've known will just be swept away

So say goodbye it's Independence Day
Papa now I know the things you wanted that you cannot say
But won't you just say goodbye it's Independence day
I swear I never meant to take those things away.

Happy St. George's Day !!

Nightwish 'Waken' festival... Ho-hum !!

Greetings !!

It's a bright & breezing Tuesday, here in England's South-West corner.... as I look out of our window, I cannot see the sea - it's covered by a layer of mist, nevermind. B is out front, cutting down the top of our hedge.....

....... There was a time, that it was sooooo high, J used to sit on the top & cut it down, from upon high !! Now - since getting a guy to cut it right back, B can reach it from the lawn & can cut it from there !! It's much better !!

Mind you - I did have to re-wire her hedge cutters !! At some point, she cut right thru' the mains wire & after trying to join them back up - well... she gave herself a nasty electric shock !! Poor mite, even burnt her fingers, as the shock went thru' her !! Bummer.... !!

Anyways - I've re-wired the clippers & they seem to be working Ok..... they certainly have cut the hedge back, so that's Ok !! I think B is going to attack the lawns next...... the grass ain't that long, but... B wants to do them, so - I'm keeping well out of it !!

Staying with the family - our Daughter (ME) has been here this morning, for a couple of hours. She really is a great ball of energy !! Bless her - she is working, later this evening, so she left us a while ago, to go shopping & to sort herself out.

As for J - the other member of our Clan - well.... he is in "quiet" mode !! By that - apart from a couple of one line texts, to B... well, he is keeping himself, to himself. Nevermind..... if I live long enough, I might get to meet up with him again - tell will certainly tell, on that one at least !!

As for the music of the moment - well....

I was listening to a bit of Mike Oldfield's 'Ommadawn'.... but, as that finished, I went & dug out 'Showtime, Storytime' by Nightwish..... the DVD version of the concert. It's now playing very loudly - just to blow off some of the cobwebs !!

The tracks are:

  1) Dark Chest Of Wonder
  2) Wish I Had An Angel
  3) She Is My Sin
  4) Ghost River
  5) Ever Dream
  6) Storytime
  7) I Want My Tears Back
  8) Nemo
  9) Last Of The Wilds
10) Bless The Child
11) Romanticide
12) Amaranth
13) Ghost Love Score
14) Song Of Myself
15) Last Ride Of The Day
16) Outro: Imaginaerum

I don't play this concert hardly enough..... It was recorded at the Wacken festival, I'm thinking in 2013...... and, for me, it was the first time I had seen & heard the vocals of Floor Jansen !! Well good !!

Since then, of course, I've picked up their latest album 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' - and if you have some spare cash, go out & treat yourself to a copy !! I repeat - well good !! Hopefully their long time drummer Jukka Nevalainen will be fight fit soon & will re-join the band !! Good luck mate !!

Ok - my plans for today - well.... I must get my self together & really sort out the bundles of Cd's & stuff, which are littering my computer desk !! It's starting to look like a dump.... it really is !!

One thing, about feeling like crap - things just get left behind & - hence - the mess on my table, just seems to keep growing & growing !! Oh - I forgot..... !!

Tomorrow, I have to head down to Exeter, to see the Consultant, who has down the last 3 plastic surgeries on my back !! How could I forget that ?!

I think I have to be there, about 12 noon - so, we have a bit of time, to get down there.... there will be no massive rush on our hands !! Ok - it's 50 miles away - but... I think the car could drive itself down to the place - it's been there enough times, over the last 18 months or so !!

Anyhoo - that's tomorrow.... so, with Nightwish blasting their ways thru' the 5.1 system - I will be on my ways, with my usual thanks, to all of you who have taken the time, to log on & read my words.... if intentionally or by accident... until next time...

Bye Bye

Grateful Dead... Ho-hum... !!

Hi Everybody !!

How is your universe treating you, this fine Sunny day ?! It looks pretty good - outside - but, as I've spent the biggest part of the day, asleep in my bed.... well, it's now pushing towards 4.30pm & I decided I better do a few things, before the whole day went AWOL !!

I actually did go out, earlier on - but, only as far as our local Dr's surgery. It was that time - again - for my dressings to be change & so, B took me down & I had my few minutes of pain, while the nurse did what she had to do !! It's not very nice, but.... bit by little bit... the wound is healing itself & life, in that respect, is petty good !!

On Wednesday, I have to go back to see the plastic surgeon who did the last 3 surgeries....... hopefully, he will not think it (the wound) needs another operation !! Time will tell on that one.... but, as I said to him, back a couple of months back, I've had 10 operations now..... I don't really want any more !! I'll see what he says.... hopefully he will let things go on, the way they are & let thing heal up naturally, with-out another surgery !!

Ok - that's in a couple of days - as for this day & this very moment.... B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is upstairs, trying to find something, in her Craft Cave. She wants to find some stamps, or cutters... or something, to do the notice board, down at the Dr's surgery. She looks after a part of it & likes to put various things on it, to make it stand out..... oh well !!

As for the rest of the family.... well, those of us who are still talking to each other !!

Our Daughter - ME - is likely to be over, tomorrow. I know she is working today - but, I think she is having tomorrow off & might be over to see us, at some point. That would be good.... I love my whirlwind of a Daughter... she is really brilliant !!

As for our Son - J - well..... he is in his own little Universe, at the moment. He did tell me, that he was moving.... but, apart from that, I have no idea as to when - I think he said he starts the next part of his Uni course, in June.... but....!! Oh well..... my life will go on, for a while, at least - it's up to him, if he wants to come back this way.... he still has a room here & a bed to sleep on... so..... !!

As for the music of the moment... well, I'm playing Cd 4 of the Grateful Dead's 'The Closing Of The Winterland' concert, from December 31st 1978.... it's just a feel good bit of music !! The tracks are:

CD 1

  1) Sugar Magnolia
  2) Scarlet Begonias
  3) Fire On The Mountain
  4) Me & My Uncle
  5) Big River
  6) Friend Of The Devil
  7) It's All Over Now
  8) Stagger Lee
  9) From The Heart Of Me
10) Sunshine Daydream

CD 2

1) Samson & Delilah
2) Ramble On Rose
3) I Need A Miracle
4) Terrapin Station
5) Playing In The Band

CD 3

1) Rhythm Devils
2) Not fade Away
3) Around & Around

CD 4

1) Dark Star
2) The Other One
3) Dark Star reprise
4) Wharf Rat
5) St Stephen
6) Good Loving
7) Casey Jones
8) Johnny B. Goode
9) We Bid You Goodnight

I've not played much, in the way of Grateful Dead music, over the last few weeks or so. I did play this whole concert, while I was stuck in the hospital. Mind you - I had lots of time to kill, sooooo why not !! Oh well... now I've found the shelf again, where all of the Dead's Cd's are collecting dust... well, I might give some other stuff a listen !!

Right - my plans for the rest of the night... none at all !!

I have to sit & let this current bug, or whatever it is, that has made me feel unwell today, take it's own good time, to leave my system & then, I can sort out a few things.... mainly the boxes of stuff, that are taking up a lot of space, up in J's room !! It's Ok my collecting all of these various things... but, at some point, I have to put them all away & up in the loft space !! Not today tho' !!

For today - I will thank you all, for taking the time to log in & read my words... from England, over to Germany & onwards around the World.... until next time...

Bye Bye

Nazareth 'Homecoming - Live In Glasgow'

Hi World's !!

How is your Universe treating you this fine Saturday - or whatever you might call this time period, on your home World ?! No - I'm only joking..... but, wherever you might be - I hope you all all well !!

It's about 2.30pm.... here in England & it's quite warm & bright outside. We went into Taunton earlier, but more of that later - first, the family !!

As I type - My Wife & Dearest Friend... B... is upstairs, doing a bit of housework. I did ask if I could do anything - but, as always, she said "no"..... so, I will probably do the dishes for her, a bit later !! I find that easy enough - I have a little "tilt stool" & I can sit on that and wash stuff up as I do so !! Life is good & it enjoy helping out, as much as I can - it might not be much.... but !!

Yesterday, in the afternoon, our Daughter came over, for a little while...... she always brightens up my day !! Bless her !! We love both of our children..... it's just hard - trying to mend bridges - with our Son !! As long term readers will know, he is over in Wales, doing a Uni. course. It would be nice, if his hatred for me, didn't mean he took it out on B !! Our well... life goes on !!

While I typing, I have the DVD of 'Prometheus' - the Sci-fi movie that Ridley Scott directed & released in 2012. It was only £5, in the supermarket.... so, I went for it !! I know J has a copy, but that's with him, over in Wales - or wherever he might be !!

I see that one of the actress's is from 'Game Of Thrones'. She plays the mad Auntie, who gets pushed thru' the 'Moon door' by Little Finger !! If you haven't watched any 'Game Of Thrones' - you will have no clue, as to what I'm going on about.... but, nevermind !!

I've seen episode one, of season 5... it's well good !! Hopefully, this time around, they will release the official DVD's a little bit quicker, than before. I enjoy all of the extra's, that go along with each DVD.... some of the stuff - especially the "blooper reels" are brilliant !! In the meantime - I make do with the TV broadcasts... my thank's to M !!

Right - I mentioned going into Taunton..... it is 'Record Store Day' and I wanted to go & visit 'Blackcat Records' - one of the few good, independent music stores around !! As it's a special day - with shops opening all around the country, I thought it would be worth a little look, especially as there was a 20% discount on everything bought !!

We went into the shop, a couple of days ago - and we spoke to the guy who runs it.... I don't think he thought it was going to be much good - he was completely wrong !! The place was crawling with people... some of who were spending lots & lots of money !!

I didn't really want anything... but, B did find a live Nazareth Cd/DVD collection !! Sooooo - for £8 - I got a bit of a bargain.... it looks really good, from the little bit I watched, before sitting here..... really good !!

I do like Nazareth - I had a bundle of their Lp's.... now, I just have a few 'Best Of' sets + their last 3 or 4 studio albums.... the tracks, on today's live set are:

  1) Light Comes Down
  2) Razamanaz
  3) Mrs Misery
  4) Holiday
  5) Dream On
  6) Simple Solution
  7) My White Bicycle
  8) Walk By Yourself
  9) Bad Bad Boy
10) Hearts Grown Cold
11) Broken Down Angel
12) Whiskey Drinkin' Woman
13) Hair Of The Dog
14) This Flight Tonight
15) Beggar's Day
16) Love Hurts

As I said above - the package contains a DVD & Cd.... I'm guessing they are both the same - mainly as they both have the same track listing. I'll give it a good play, at some point & see what it's like !! I still have too many Cd's & too few brain cells to listen to them all... ho-hum !!

Just saw a bit of 'Prometheus' - ME would really love this... it brings a whole new meaning to the term "blow job" !! Now now - I must change the subject !! Sooooo - moving on !!

I had an e-mail, from the company that I've bought 'Dub Side Of The Mule' - the latest Gov't Mule live set. They are going to send me another copy..... that's very good of them !! It's not often you get people who will do that !! At some point - I will give you all a track listing.... whenever I get the chance to listen to it !!

I know, that the Mule's latest set is coming out soon...... so, I will no doubt buy a copy of that !! I have no idea what it's going to be like, but - I do like the band's live sets !!

That reminds me - the last bit of The Hobbit' movie's is coming out on Monday !! I know I pre-ordered it, from a company on 'Play.com'..... but, I must check to see if it's actually been sent yet !! Time will tell, I guess - if it will get here on the day of release ?! I will let you all know !!

Ok - my plans for today...

Well - in a short while, the qualifying, for tomorrow's F1 is on.... I think it starts about 3.30. So - I want to watch that, in the hope that Jensen Button does better this week !! He's our "local" driver - so, we kind of support him !!

I also have to look at a bit of electrical stuff, for B. She cut thru' her hedge cutter, a while back & I've promised I will try & re-wire the thing. Hopefully, it won't be burnt up, inside - that could mean a new cutter & throwing the old one away !! That would be a bit of a bummer.... nevermind - I'll have a look at it, after the qualifying !!

For now tho' - I will be on my ways.... As always, I thank you for your time - for logging in & reading my words.... until next time...

Bye Bye

Taste - 'Live At The Isle Of Wight'

Greeting's !!

It's another Friday !! I didn't get to writing anything yesterday - mainly as we had a really lazy morning, followed by a very hectic afternoon.... so... today is Friday & I hope I can be forgiven for missing Thursday ?!

As I type, I'm home alone...

B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - is in town, doing some kind of carer's course, at one of the Dr's surgeries . I'm not really sure what time she will be home.... but, I'm guessing it will be in about an hour or so.

Going back, to yesterday.....

I woke up, really in the middle of the night !! So, B & I watched a bit of TV & had a bite to eat..... that was way early, sooooo - we went back to sleep & woke up about 10 or 11am !! As I say - a real lazy morning !! The afternoon - well...

I had to go into the hospital, for 4.45pm - so we made a trip of it & went around Taunton, doing a bit of shopping. I'm not really that keen, on doing the whole shopping thing, with people everywhere - but.... we had some fun & B was able to find some cloth she wanted ( to make stuff with) and I had some fun in HMV - buying some Cd's !!

We even had a KFC for lunch !! Heck - we really pushed the boat out !! As for the Cd's.... they are just a couple of old things, that caught my eye, as I wheeled myself around the shelves !!

First up was 'Live At The Isle Of Wight' by Taste. I knew there was a copy - of the concert, but this was the first time I had actually found it anywhere. The tracks are:

1) What's Going On
2) Sugar Mama
3) Morning Sun
4) Sinner Boy
5) I Feel So Good
6) Catfish

Ok - I know it's a really old concert, from the 1970 festival - but... !! It's a must have kind of Cd, well good !! The other set, that I picked up.....

Well - that's a 3 disc set, by Mike Oldfield...... and contains various re-workings of my favourite album (by him) 'Ommadawn'. The album first came out, in 1975 & I fell in love with it, right away !! It's one of those few albums - well.... I have it on Lp - tape cassette - and Cd !! Plus, now I have these re-worked versions.... including a 'Surround Sound' DVD of the thing !! It can't be all bad, maybe some of it..... but, I'm willing to give it a try !!

Following our trip, around the town - as I said above - I had to go back to the hospital - to see the Consultant, who actually did the first batch of surgeries, on me, in 2013...... a really great guy !!

He was pleased with my progress - altho' kind of upset about all of the last few infections I've had.... especially the last one, where I stopped breathing & shit like that. Nevermind - it's all behind me now !!

he has - thankfully - put me on a long term course of pills.... so, I might avoid having any more episodes, where I get really sick again !! I don't like going to bed, at home - and then waking up, in the hospital !! Not nice !!

Plus - he gave me a print out, of my MRI scan !! I wanted to see what it all looked like & he kindly had a couple of the images printed up for me - to add to my collection of stuff, pictures & posters etc etc that I have here !! I'm just a sick-o... who likes to see, what has happened inside of me !!

One of the images is pretty fantastic - with a clear shot of all of the metal work, that is holding me all together now !! Great stuff !! Oh well.... I best be on my ways....

I'm surprised, that I didn't get any fall out, from my last post.... nevermind, life goes on & so must I !! I have a dressings change, due in under an hour - so I must move !!

I thank you all, for taking the time to log in & read my words... I thank you all... until next time..

Bye Bye

F**king Family !!

Hi World's !!

It's a warm & bright Wednesday, here in England - it's a bit after 4pm & I have to go to the local surgery, in less than an hour... so, I might make this a shorter post than normal, I see how the time goes !!

As I type, B is up in her craft cave, sorting out some bits & bobs.... ribbons, I think. That just leaves me, down here, listening to music. At the moment, it's the old (1996) Lynyrd Skynyrd Cd 'Freebird - The Movie'

The tracks are:

  1) Working For MCA
  2) I Ain't The One
  3) Saturday Night Special
  4) Whiskey Rock-A-Roller
  5) Travellin' Man
  6) Searching
  7) What's Your Name
  8) That Smell
  9) Gimme Three Steps
10) Call Me The Breeze
11) T For Texas (Blue Yodel No.1)
12) Sweet Home Alabama
13) Free Bird
14) Dixie

It's from the movie - and is well worth your cash, if you can find a copy someplace.....

As I've probably written before - I saw the band 3 times, before their fateful plane crash, in 1977. I also had the chance, to speak with some of the band, as they took a smoke, outside of the Bristol venue, many years ago now !! Great guys.... they really were !!

So - why the 'F**king Family' header ?!

Simple really - I have a Sister - who is a real lying cow & will do anything, just to find our my private business !! By that - I mean, she hasn't spoken to me, for over 25 years - yet, at the slightest bit of news, from me & my family.... she tries to find out more !!

This time around - she is trying to get B & ME to accept her on Facebook !! Come off it you bitch... get a life & leave my family alone !!

Trying to "tag" a picture that ME posted - well, it's nothing to do with you... I repeat, leave my family alone !! You've not needed us, for all of these years, so butt out now !!

Go & speak to your "Sister-In-Law"... oh, I forgot - she ain't your "Sister-In-Law".... mainly as we divorced in 1987.... just in time for that bitch to marry her boyfriend & accuse me of a bundle of stuff !!

I remember !! I didn't know listening to music, with head phones on, was a reason for a divorce !! Of course - in Bermuda, it's a crime, to let your Cousin be molested by her Father & not have that man put in jail... yet, it's Ok to divorce me, for having health problems & listening to music, with head phones on !! F**king family !!

I'm sorry folks - the Queen Bitch - aka my Sister has once again overstep the line... so, I'm really pissed off about the whole thing !!

So - with Lynyrd Skynyrd playing loudly - without head phones, in the background - I will away !! My Wife & Dearest Friend & my Sister's real Sister-In-Law of over 27 years, is upstairs & not moaning one bit about my music..... mainly as we are Husband & Wife.... and her Father had no reason to get his Daughter & Grand Son, away from me.... ain't life f**king great ?!

I look forward to receiving all of your complaints.... why not ?! I enjoy reading your comments... even the nasty ones !! I thank you all, for taking the time, to log in & read my words - I will try not to stop breathing overnight..... so... until next time..

Bye Bye

The "Pass-Word" is 'Please' !!

Greetings World's !!

I hope your Universe is treating you well, this fine & Sunny Tuesday ?! Out thru' our living room windows, it's bright - with blue sky & an old cat (Smudge) hoping we'll let him in !! He has only just gone out - sooooo, I guess he has done, whatever he had to do & now he wants back in !!

B has just gone upstairs - and the cat watched her go thru' the living room ... then turned his head, to see if she would open the door. She didn't.... so - I've taken pity on him & I've opened the door for him !! He is a pain in the butt, most times - but, I've fallen victim to the "evil eye" he gave us !!

Our cats, will sit on the window ledge & just stare in - hoping is they look long enough (the 'Evil Eye') they will get us to feel sorry for them & open the door !! Oh well.... it comes of having 4 cats I guess !!

Right - it's a Tuesday & I'm now home alone. B has just gone down to the local shop - being it's a Tuesday, she picks up the TV paper & a bar of chocolate !! It's a routine, that we've gotten into - on this day of the week - I always get chocolate... it helps me, when I'm a bit out of it, to remind me exactly what day it is !!

Even on days, like this, when I'm not - sort of with it - we always get the TV paper....... I like to look thru' it & eat the chocolate !! Ho-hum....

I must admit - I am not really "with it" today.....

For some reason, I didn't really wake up, until after 1pm !! I was dead to the World !! I don't know why - I just slept & slept !! Hopefully, it's just a one off & the start of something I can't control !! Time will tell on that one, I guess !!

As for the music of the moment....

Well, I'm playing the track 'Ritual' from the '£5th Anniversary Concert' by Yes........ It happened to be, in the Cd player - sooooo, why not ?! It's a track, that has grown on me, over the last few years. I don't know why - I kind of - "hated" the 'Topographic Oceans' album, when it first came out...... but now, all these years later, it has grown on me a bit.

I was also playing a few tracks by The Temperance Movement..... those tracks are:

  1) Only Friend
  2) Ain't No Telling
  3) Pride
  4) Be Lucky
  5) Midnight Black
  6) Chinese Lantern
  7) Know For Sure
  8) Morning Riders
  9) Lovers & Fighters
10) Take It Back
11) Smouldering
12) Serenity

I know next to nothing about the band - but, it goes to show, how my Cd buying habits, take me from one disc to another. To try & explain..

I bought the 2 Cd live set, recorded at Jon Lord tribute concert. One of the singers, at that concert was one Phil Campbell..... and he is the singer with The Temperance Movement.... so, I've gone from listening to someone, that I didn't know, to listening to him sing on the TM's
Cd !! It's strange how things go, I guess !!

M has a couple Cd's by the band.... so, I'm going to listen to those as well - and maybe, go out & buy myself a copy of the album !! I like what I've heard so far, sooooo why not !!

I'm still waiting for the blooming Gov't Mule Cd to reach me !! Come on guys - it was supposedly posted a week ago - where the hell is it !! It's the only draw back, of buying from the internet - you have no control over how long things take to reach you !! A bit of a bummer really !!

Right - my plans for today....

I'm going to eat some chocolate & read the TV paper... try & highlight some of the better films, that might be on, next week. I have no clue, what might be there.... but !!

As always - I thank you all for logging in & reading my words..... until next time...

Bye Bye

Manowar - 'Hell On Stage Live'

Greetings World's !!

It's a very warm & Sunny Monday, here in England.... I've just come home, after getting my dressings changed & it really is good outside........ makes a change, from our usual wet & windy days !!

As I type, I'm home alone - B has just gone over to the M & M's house, to help with some stuff... I'm not really sure what - but, I don't mind. I'm sat here with the music turned down to deafening & a Sci-fi film playing silently over on the TV to my left.

The music of the moment is the final concert, from the Allman Brothers 2014 tour - their last concert ever, as they have decided to retire the band !! I've played this concert, over & over... especially while I was laid up in the hospital(s). With very little else to do - I could play it right thru' & close me eyes & kind of drift off !!

Having followed the band for many a Moon - it's a really great concert, to listen to & to finish their careers together with... in a word, brilliant !! I won't bother you all, with a track listing, mainly as I've already typed it, at some point, a while back.... check out one of my earlier posts !!

The postman has just been - I had really hoped, that he would bring the latest Gov't Mule release - which should of been here, on the day of release, last Monday.... but, being as we had the long Easter weekend, I'm guessing things have been held up !!

I really hope it gets here, this coming week - I really want to listen to it !!

I did get another box of Star Trek models.... which, if you are a long time reader, will know, I've been collection over the past few months or so.

For those of you who know their Star Trek stuff, today's models are from 'Star Trek Enterprise' - The Intrepid & and the 2nd one is from 'Star Trek Voyager' & that's a Malon Export Vessel. Make of that, as you wish - I'll put them, upstairs, with all of the rest of the models & at some point, put them away someplace, for a future generation to have !!

I know - it's kind of dumb, collecting this sort of stuff.... trains, planes & spaceships - but, what the heck... I just hope, that somebody - a few years from now, will enjoy them !! I expect, that I will be long dead, before any Grand-kids come along.... but, one day, they might have some fun with the things !!

I mentioned, being in hospital & listening to the Allmans album.... well, another Cd that I really enjoyed, was by the mighty Manowar !! It's a 2 Cd live set called 'Hell On Stage Live'. The tracks are:

CD 1

1) Metal Daze
2) Dark Avenger
3) March For Revenge
4) Hatred
5) Gates Of Valhalla
6) Bridge Of Death
7) William's Tale
8) Guyana (Cult Of The Damned)

CD 2

1) The Warrior's Prayer
2) Blood Of The Kings
3) Sting Of The Bumble Bee
4) Heart Of Steel
5) Master Of The Wind
6) Outlaw
7) The Power
8) The Crown & The Ring

I bought this set, quite a while ago now.... before that, I had only one Cd by the band - 'Hail To England' - which, is pretty good !! So, I bought the live set, just to see how good or bad it was... and, to be honest, I'm well happy with it !! It certainly blasted the cob-webs out of my brain !! Great stuff !!

I mentioned a film... well, B bought it for me, just before the weekend. It's called 'Interstella' & stars Mathew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway & Michael Caine. As the name suggest - it's a bit of a Sc-fi yarn.... lasting about 160+ minutes.... I've enjoyed it - but, I think My Wife & Dearest Friend struggled a bit with the whole "time travelling" (sort of) plot line. Nevermind.... it's given me something to watch !!

Back to music...

I saw a poster, in the Taunton library - which said, that as of April 1st - they were no longer buying any new Cd's !! That's a bit of a bummer... mainly as I use the library, to listen to Cd's - and, if I like them, go out & buy myself a copy !! Now - well... I don't know if this is going to be a short term thing, but !! If it's going to be a very long term thingy - well, I guess I'll be buying Cd's.... without having had the luxury of hearing them first !! As I say - a real bummer !!

I only really go into the blooming library, to check out Cd's... sooooo, I guess there will be little point in going there. Time will tell, I guess, but !! I might e-mail the library service & see what is going on..... Oh well...

I might of mentioned this before - but.....

One of our neighbours has a Son - who must be about 30+ - and he was going to the hospital, to have an injection, in his back. It's a fairly common thing... over the years, I've had 3 of the things.... I think my Father-in-Law has had it done a couple of times as well - as I say, it's a common thing, to help with back pain.

For some reason, his Mum... well, because I've had this major back surgery, she seems to think that her "little boy" is going to have the same thing - with all the complications that I've had. I know for a fact - he is not... mainly as my surgery, well - it was really a bit of a one off !!

I spoke with her yesterday & told her, that I've warmed up enough beds, for her Son - it's his turn now !! To which she said, "I'm not letting him have it done" - by which, I guess, she means his injection, into his back ?!

Honestly - it really pisses me off !! He is having nothing like I've had done... but, she really is trying to make out that her "boy" is going to go thru' all of what I've had to live with !! If his back, was that bad, he would be climbing over people, to get it fixed !! Oh well.... her "little boy" is about 250 pounds & really is a bit of a jerk !! Honestly... "I'm not letting him have it done" !! Shit woman.... it's only an injection !!

B knows it gets to me - to think that her Son is going to have it all done, to go thru' the same surgery as myself - when I know full well, from my experiences, that he is not.... as I say, a bit of a jerk !!

I'll know, if she reads this post - she will fly off the handle & never speak to me again - that's no big deal, I can live without her giving me grief !! Moving on....

I have to finish soon, as I have a bundle of washing up to do, before B gets home, from ME's place. I'm not really sure, what time I have - so, I best be on my ways.

As always - I thank you all, for taking the time, to log in & read my words.... until next time...

Bye Bye

Nightwish - 'Elan' 10 inch vinyl !!

Well "Hi" World's !!

It's a bright, but chilly Saturday, here in England's South-West corner. It's heading towards 1pm - and, to be perfectly honest, I've only been out of bed - maybe - for about 30 minutes. I've not been lazy, B & I woke up late & we then watched a TV programme about Britain's native woodlands. It might sound kind of boring - but, we do like that type of thing.... having been studied, by the 2 of us, at college. Oh well.....

At 1pm... well, it's F1 qualifying on the BBC.... I know Hamilton is on Pole - but, I'm interested to see how the rest of the grid lines up.... especially England's Jenson Button !! I was in hospital, at the time of the last GP - so, I was lucky enough to see the end of it, on the TV's that are around the beds.

I refuse - on principle - to pay the inflated prices they charge, to watch the TV's at different times of the day.... but, they do allow 4 stations, to be shown, for free, during the mornings. Ok - I'm not a massive "day-time" TV viewer - but, as the GP was on, I lay there & watched it !!

Right - it's a Saturday & B (My Wife & Dearest Friend) is here with me. She is going to do a bit of ironing, while the TV is on..... so, we're both here, in the living room. On the window ledge - I can see Smudge, looking in at us....

Scrub all of that - B has decided to head back to bed. She hasn't felt well, since getting up - sooooo, she has decided to head back to bed & sleep it off. I don't blame her !! For me, it's a good idea & I do the same myself..... I'll check on her shortly.

If you logged in yesterday... well, I didn't post anything. I'm sorry about that !! As it was - B & I headed into Taunton, to have a look around some of the shops. We didn't really go, with the intention of buying anything - but.... B bought a couple of magazines & I landed up, with a copy of the re-issue of 'Relayer' by Yes. The tracks are:

1) The Gates Of Delirium
2) Sound Chaser
3) To Be Over
4) Soon - Single Edit
5) Sound Chaser - Single Edit
6) The Gates Of Delirium - Studio Run-Through

It is one of the Yes albums, that I didn't have on Cd...... this one was marked down to £2.99 so, it was begging to be bought !! I'll give it a bit of a play thru' - maybe after the qualifying ?! Time will tell on that front.....

I had the first 3 tracks, on the old Lp... so, the last 3 tracks are all bonuses to me !! Great stuff !! If I look carefully, at the various compilations, that I have by yes, it will probably turn out, that I have some of the tracks already.... but, for £2.99 - what the heck !!

Also, staying with music - the 10 inch Nightwish (green vinyl) album/single has reached me !! That was a great surprise - considering I ordered it, from a German language site !! I was sure I missed some of the instructions, as my German is pretty much non-existent..... but, it's come - so I must of done something right !!

The few tracks are:

Side A.

1) Elan
2) Sagan - Non album bonus track

Side B

1) Elan - Alternate version
2) Elan - Radio edit

Ok - I have the album & this cost about 20 euro's - but, I just fell for the whole 10 inch green vinyl thing !! AKA - I just had to have it.... nevermind.... I'll play it later.

I'm a busy puppy today.... as I'm trying to copy some 'Andromeda' episodes, from the hard drive, over to DVD. I missed 5 episodes, while I was stuck in the hospital, before Easter.... so, I'm trying to sort them out.

Luckily, altho' I didn't record them, as they were broadcast, onto DVD - I still had them recorded to the hard drive of the DVD player/recorder. So - it's just a case of doing the transfer... it won't take too long..... I hope !!

Jenson Button has just been knocked out of the qualifying - sooooo - it's music time.... and I'm playing the Nightwish 10 inch, as I type.

It's the fact, that it's a vinyl & green, that has it's attractions to me. Plus, of course, there are a couple of extra tracks, that I don't have, on the thing !! Oh well......

Thankfully, I have a really good turntable, to still play old records. I know a lot of people gave up & chucked their tables away - not me, I just bought a better one !! I still play Lp's - so why not ?!

Right - my plans for today...

Well, with B in bed, I will keep the noise levels down a bit & maybe do the dishes, that I noticed in the kitchen.... I'm sure that will help !! There are only a few, so it won't take long. It's not much of a plan - but, it's something to work on !!

Sooooo - as always, I thank you all for logging in & reading my words. If ever you want to let me know, what you're listening to, I would be interested in reading your comments !! For now tho' I will be on my ways... until next time...

No Mule... but some Brothers instead !!

Greetings World's !!

My thank's to all of you who have logged in & sent "greetings" - it's really great to know you all care !!

Ok - it's another Thursday, here in England & from what I can see, looking out thru' the window, it's pretty bright & Sunny outside. As yet, I've not ventured too far from our living room.... but, it looks warm out there.

As I type - B is upstairs, doing a bit of housework..... not 100% sure what, but it sounds like she is busy !! As for the rest of the family, well - ME is probably working & J is.... well, I'm guessing he's over in Wales... but, we're not really sure about that !! Nevermind... life goes on & he knows where we are if he wants anything !!

I had hoped today, to be listening to the latest Gov't Mule live Cd.... but, as yet, it has not reached me !! That's really becoming a bit of a bummer !! As mentioned before - I pre-ordered it... in the hope of getting it on the day of release.... but, so far nothing !!

I hope it will get here, by Saturday - I could of gone into Taunton & picked it up from HMV, on the day, had I known it was going to take this long !! I repeat - a bit of a bummer !!

I did get a big model of a Klingon 'Bird Of Prey' - which I wasn't expecting, so that was a bit of a surprise !! It has a 6 inch wing span & looks really good........ hopefully, one day, somebody will get some fun out of it !! I will put it in the boxes, with the other Star Trek models. Hopefully, one day - I don't know when - somebody down the line will get them & enjoy them.

Anyhoo - the music of the moment...

With the non-arrival of Gov't Mule.... I'm playing the Allman Brothers 1973 Winterland concert. It came with their re-issue of 'Brothers & Sisters'. The tracks are:

CD 1

  1) Intro by Bill Graham
  2) Wasted Words
  3) Done Somebody Wrong
  4) One Way Out
  5) Stormy Monday
  6) Midnight Rider
  7) Ramblin' Man
  8) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed
  9) Statesboro' Blues
10) Come & Go Blues

CD 2

1) Southbound
2) Jessica
3) You Don't Love Me
4) Les Brers In A Minor
5) Blue Sky
6) Trouble No More
7) Whipping Post

It's one of those concerts that has been bootlegged sooooo many times - so it was great to get an official version of the concert !!

I first heard part of it, on the old Fluff Freeman Saturday afternoon show..... bless him. I spoke with him & he was really a great, very nice man...... why do all the good guys have to die ?! Oh well..... that's probably why I'm still kicking - I've not been "good enough" !! Nevermind.....

My plans for today....

Well, I'm going to sit in front of the DVD player & sort out these 'Andromeda' discs, that are all floating around the place...... it won't take too long, but it's not going to be a great lot of fun !! I have to get to it - the longer I put it off, the more DVD's there are going to be, to sort
out !!

So - this is going to be kind of a short post today - I will be on my ways.... thank you all again, for logging in & reading my words... until next time....

'Endless Forms Most Beautiful'

Hi again World's !!

How is your bit of the Universe treating you this fine day ?! It's been a very warm & bright Wednesday morning, here in England's South-West corner - but, since about lunch time, it's clouded over. Oh well - it's only April... so I guess, we can expect a few more cloudy days, as the month moves along !!

As I type, My Wife & Dearest Friend, is outside trying to give the lawns their first cut of the year. It's still a little wet, but she is doing her best, to hack thru' the grass. I just poked my head out, thru' the front door & she is really doing well !! Bless her....

Ok - as mentioned - it's another Wednesday.... and, for probably the first time, since my last stay in hospital, I went with B, into town & we had a look around. Up until now, I've not felt like going very far, but....

Ok, I know I'm knackered now - but, with the Sun out & being quite warm, I enjoyed looking around. I didn't get very much... but..... !!

I did come home, with a couple of Cd's...

The latest AC/DC album 'Rock Or Bust' + a couple of compilations...... nothing too exciting. The tracks on the AC/DC Cd are:

  1) Rock or Bust
  2) Play Ball
  3) Rock The Blues Away
  4) Miss Adventure
  5) Dogs Of War
  6) Got Some Rock & Roll Thunder
  7) Hard Times
  8) Baptism Of Fire
  9) Rock The House
10) Sweet Candy
11) Emission Control

I'm not really sure what is happening with the band. I saw their long time drummer was in court, on some kind of charge (I don't know the details) and the guitarist, so I was told has dementia.... sooooo, I have no idea who is in the band anymore !! Nevermind... I'll give it a good listen & see how things go !!

The music of the moment...

Well, it's the mighty Nightwish & their 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' album, which came when I was in hospital. I've only played it a couple of times, but... !! It's well good & worth your money, if you get chance of buying a copy !! The tracks are:

  1) Shudder Before The Beautiful
  2) Weak Fantasy
  3) Elan
  4) Yours Is An Empty Hope
  5) Our Decades In The Sun
  6) My Walden
  7) Endless Forms Most Beautiful
  8) Edema Ruh
  9) Alpenglow
10) The Eyes Of Sharbat Gula
11) The Greatest Show On Earth

The last track - well it's over 23 minutes in length & even by Nightwish's high standards, this track is head & shoulders above anything else they have done !! It's nothing more than brilliant, it really is - well good !!

At some point, I'm expecting a copy of their single 'Elan' (I think) on a 10 inch green vinyl !! I saw it for sale, at the Nuclear Blast web site & thought "Why not" !! Hopefully it will come later this week. I've had some 10 inch things before - but, not recently.

On the 18th of April there is a national record shop day... and I will be heading towards Taunton, to see what is on offer. They hold these every year, but each year, things get better - with more & more to look at !! Great stuff...

Just staying with music - the latest Gov't Mule album should be here soon. It was released yesterday & I was disappointed it didn't arise on the day.... mainly as I pre-ordered it & (usually) things arrive on the date of release, if the seller has enough time to get things together. Maybe it was because of the Easter, that things have become delayed, I don't know - but, hopefully it will get here this week !! Time will tell, I guess.....

At some point, I have to go thru' a shed load of DVD's.... each of which contain episodes of 'Andromeda' - the old Sc-fi show, from a number of years back. I've been recording them, a few at a time & now I'm left with a bundle of discs, with-out really knowing which order they should go in !!

Luckily, I have made a list of the dates I recorded which episode.... now all I have to do, is go thru' them all & try & mark them up, in some kind of order !! It's going to take a while - but, it will give me something to
do !!

Talking of things to do - I have to go into the hospital - again - next Thursday, to see one of my Consultants. I was hoping to see him, while I was in the hospital, but.... and I quote "he's in one of his patients"... or he was at the time, that my Dr, (the legendary) Bruce tried to get him over to see me !!

I don't mind... the Consultant 'phoned me, a few nights back, to say he was sorry he missed me. He's one of these guys, who quite honestly I trust with my life..... he is that good !! Ok - I know things have gone wrong, but it's nobody's fault - it just happened that way !!

I'll see him next week & see how things are..... I'm hoping to get some good pictures of my last CT & MRI scans !! I know - it's kind of sick, wanting pictures of stuff, but !! I'm that kind of person..... I like to know what is going on, with-in my body as well as with-out !!

Ok - it's April....... it's just past the 150 anniversary of Lincoln's assassination and it's coming up to the 29th anniversary of - what I consider now - my 'Independence Day'.... it's a long story, best kept for another day, but, on St, Georges Day, it will be 29 years !! "Wow" !! Life has certainly moved one since that first 'Day' - I've come a very long way indeed !! Ho-hum.......

Right, my plans for the rest of the day...

Having mentioned the 'Andromeda' DVD's - I might try & make a start on them. I'll print off some info, from the web & see how far I've managed to go, with the episodes I've already got.... plus, it'll give me some idea of just how many more shows there are !!

Nevermind.... it's going to give me something to do & that's a fact !!

For now tho' - I will be on my ways...... As always, I thank you for logging in & reading my words. It feels good, to be back writing this ol' blog of mine !! Thank's for your time.... I do appreciate it... until next time...

Tipping point...

Hi World's !!

It's another Tuesday, here in the wilds of England's South-West corner & I'm back !! If you've not realised, that I've been gone - for over 2 weeks... well, not to worry about it, I will not get too upset about it all !!

First off "The Family" !!

As I type - B is out in the side garden, hanging some washing out to dry. It's really bright & Sunny outside today - so, B is taking the best of it, to get stuff dry !! It was very windy, a few days back - and, luckily, it didn't rain - so, the washing dried really quickly... oh well...

As for the rest of the family....

Our Daughter ME is at home, but is coming over a little later.... not 100& sure what time, but when ever she is here, my little bit of the Universe brightens up !! That just leaves our Son... J.

At the moment, he is preparing for a move... I guess ?! I e-mailed him, to see how he was doing & to ask, if he wanted to come home, for the Summer. To which, I had a one line reply, about his starting a full time "placement" (I guess) in Newbury...... sooooo - I guess he has no plans on seeing his Mum anytime soon ?!

B has suggested that we dismantle J's bed & move it into the smaller room.... it's a good idea, but (there is always a "but") I want to give J every opportunity, to visit home & not feel that he no longer has a space here. If he decides, that he is never returning... well, that's a different thing all together, that will be his choice - and one I will respect... but, for now, it's still his room !!

Just because you hate my guts Son, there is no need to take it out on your Mum !! That's just incase you're reading my words, of course.... nevermind - each to their own !!

The music of the moment - well, I'm listening to the old album, by Yes simply called 'Fragile'. The tracks are:

1) Roundabout
2) Cans & Brahms
3) We Have Heaven
4) South Side Of The Sky
5) Five Per Cent For Nothing
6) Long Distance Runaround
7) The Fish
8) Mood For A Day
7) Heart Of The Sunrise

I had the Lp of this, from the day it first came out... a very many Moons ago !! Having really liked the 'Yes Album'... well, it was a no way type of Lp... I had to get a copy, followed by 'Close To The Edge' !! Ah - the glory days of 'Prog Rock' !!

Heck - I forgot to wish you all had a happy Easter !! I'm sorry about that - I've had things to deal with & life has been pretty hectic around here.... to explain....

As a lot of you know, I'm not the healthiest puppy around. I've been a bit poorly, for the last 14 years, but... these last 2 years have kind of rammed it all home !!

A couple of 3 weeks ago, I started to feel poorly & bit, by little bit, I went down hill.... until on Tuesday 24th March, I reach a kind of "tipping point" - where my body just gave up. I kid you not...

I went to bed early, because I wasn't feeling too good & when B came to bed, I was unconscious & she couldn't wake me. A couple of ambulances came over to the house & I was driven to the hospital, in Taunton. It seems like I missed quite a ride !!

With 2 medics working on me, in the back of one of the ambulances, B was torn between worrying about me & also the speeds of up to 95 mph, at which another medic was driving !! At some point, during the ride, I stopped breathing.... sooooo - I missed quite a bit !!

I - sort of - remember a bit of Wednesday afternoon..... with B & ME visiting me, but it was really the Thursday, that I really started to put things together. It was about that time, I started to realise, that I wasn't really too well - the stuff that I could normally do, well..... I couldn't !!

After spending a couple of very uncomfortable days & nights, in the ward, I started to get things together & - thankfully, I started to feel a bit better !!

I really wanted to leave the hospital, on the Saturday - but My Wife & Dearest Friend wanted me to stay in, so try & get better.... sooooo, I stayed & let things take their course. It took a while.... but, I thankfully had my little Mini Egg with me & I was able to play loads of music !!

To see the look, on the guys (nurses & Dr's) faces, when they would ask me what I'm listening to & I would say "Nine Inch Nails" or something !! One Dr. (Bruce) was facilitated by my Egg (iPod) and what was on it........ a great guy !!

I kept on his case... to try & get him to discharge me, from the hospital - but, it took to the Monday, before they decided I was well enough. My blood infection levels were down to normal-ish ( from 279 - when I first went in, to below 20 on the Monday) and with my blood pressure behaving itself, I was set free.... once more, to come home & relax, in my own surroundings.

As I said to Bruce - I was just laying there, listening to music, nearly all the time.... sooooo, I was going to be happier at home !! Eventually, his boss agreed & I was home by Monday evening... it felt really good, to look out of my own bedroom window, rather than the small windows, in the hospital !!

It's the sickest I've been, in a couple of years... but, bit by bit - with my families help & The Lord above, I am gradually getting myself together again !! It's going to take a while, this time, but life is good, so I'm taking each day at a time & letting things take their time. Life is good....

The music of the moment... I've changed it to an Allman Brothers concert, that came while I was away. It was recorded at the Beacon Theater in New York, on March 7th 2014... the tracks are:

CD 1

  1) Old Friend
  2) No One To Run With
  3) Trouble No More
  4) Leave My Blues At Home
  5) Worried Down With The Blues
  6) True Gravity
  7) Midnight Rider
  8) You Don't Love Me
  9) Dusk Til' Dawn
10) Ain't Wastin' Time No More

CD 2

1) Melissa
2) I Walk On Gilded Splinters
3) Dreams
4) In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed

CD 3

1) The Sky Is Crying
2) Revival
3) Whipping Post

So far, I'm only on CD 1 - but.... it's well good !! As is the last concert.... from the band. It was (I written all this before) recorded at the Beacon Theater - and the 4 Cd set is well good !! Being stuck, in the hospital - I was able to listen to all 4 discs, one after another - a great final concert !!

Ok - I ought to think about signing off...

It's April 7th today... I started off this year, knowing I was having to have, at least one more surgery & one stay in hospital. So far, I've had 3 stays in hospital & one surgery...... We knew, at some point, that my body would gradually give up, but it was a bit of a shock - for all of us - that we got to this point, as quickly as we have.

Whatever happens, I will fight all of this, for as long as I can...... I must away...

I started this "Blog" on March 31st 2010.... all of 5 years ago - it's been great to know, that sooooo many of you have taken the time to log in, over the years & have taken the time, to read my words.... I thank you all... until next time...
