Greetings Everyone !!
It's a cold & dismal Thursday, here in England - it's bright enough, out thru' the window... but, everything is wet & not nice, if you follow my meaning ?! Oh well...
I'm up bright & early, this fine day !! I'm supposed to have a parcel, at some point, during the day - but, as I have no exact time of delivery & B is out, well - I'm up early, just incase it gets here. Had I stayed in bed - I would of no doubt, gone back to sleep..... that would not of been good !! Nevermind...
I suspect, that the parcel will get here, sometime this afternoon - just my luck really !! Oh well.... By that time, B will be on her ways home..... time will tell !!
Anyhoo - with B out of the house, the music is blasting out really loud !! More of that later..... first 'Game Of Thrones' and how they have changed the plot line !! !!
I know !! I've said I would give up thinking too much, about how the TV seasons differ from the books - but.... Season 5 has really given me a curve ball !! I refer to the whole Ramsey Bolton & Sansa Stark getting married twist !!
If you read the books - you will all know, that the Bolton bastard married a girl, who was pretending to be Sansa's younger Sister - Arya. The thing being, that the North would re-unite, if a Stark was on the board, at Winterfell. So what do the writers do - they forget the whole plot........ and have Sansa go to Winterfell, to marry Ramsey !!
Ok - I know, we're only on episode 3 of the season - but !! If you're like me & have read the books, well - I was waiting to see how the TV series would deal with that whole plot. Now - they've given me something different to watch.... all very strange !!
Nevermind.... my dumb life will go on, I guess.... but.... it was something I was surprised to see. Hopefully, the writers will not change much more..... I was looking forward, to the bit where Tyrion was captured by the slavers !! Oh well.......
Right..moving on.....
The music of the moment, is the mighty Led Zeppelin & their 1977 concert from Fort Worth, Texas. I was given a copy, quite a while ago now.... but, it's still worth a listen, if you get the chance. I've listed the tracks, a while back - but, they are:
CD 1
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
6) No Quarter
CD 2
1) Ten Years Gone
2) The Battle Of Evermore
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman
5) Bron-Y- Aur Stomp
6) White Summer/Black Mountain Side
7) Kashmir
CD 3
1) Moby Dick
2) Guitar Solo
3) Achilles Last Stand
4) Stairway To Heaven
5) Whole Lotta Love/Rock & Roll
6) It'll Be Me
One of Bad Co. join the band, on the last track..... Mick Ralphs .... I have a lot of the 1977 shows, probably too many, but playing this one concert, has really made me realise just how good the band were on stage !! I'm the first to agree - some of the stuff they played... well, they were a little "over the top" - but... !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs !! Buy all of the official stuff - by any band - first..... give the live shows a listen, if you get chance - but, don't pay money for them !!
The music has come to an - sooooo.... I'm now playing Cream's 'Wheels Of Fire' album. That is to say, the live second disc, which was recorded at "The Fillmore" on March 7th. 8th. and 10th 1968. The tracks are:
1) Crossroads
2) Spoonful
3) Traintime
4) Toad
This was another of those must have albums.... and, of course, I had a copy on Lp !! Now - well, I've sold that copy (for a nice profit) and have the Cd version of the thing. Why not - the vinyl stuff was only taking up space & over the years, I've replaced the load of them, on Cd !!
When I was at college - I went really late in life - I did a talk (as you have to) about Led Zeppelin bootleg Cd's. My whole point, of the talk, really was how, over the years Lp bootlegs had been replaced by Cd versions.... and how those Cd's allowed the much longer tracks to be released, without the need to edit them over 2 sides of vinyl, as they often were.
It's the same, with official live Cd's - for example Rainbow's 'On Stage' album. Ok - the longer tracks were on one side, of the old Lp version.... but, with the re-release of that album, it was expanded, with extra tracks, that were not on the original Lp !!
Cd's had that effect, on bootlegs - the longer tracks were released, as one long track... for a collector, that had to be good. There was nothing worse, than having to turn a Lp over, half way thru' a track !! Oh well....
My tutor - well.... he made the point that Cream had released long tracks, on Lp.... which is true. The 'Wheels Of Fire' album had 2 long tracks on it - neither of which lasted much beyond the 15+ minute mark. But - bootleg Cd's - and some newer official Cd's - have allowed for much longer tracks.
Oh well - enough of music....
I must be on my ways.... I hope the parcel will be here sooner, rather than later !! I think it's probably going to be my "Box" from the Allman's site 'Hittin' The Note'. I hope so - I've the Cd's for a while now.... so, the box to put them in, would be good !!
I do get a bit pissed off tho' - mainly as I've had to pay another $40 give or take, just to have them brought thru' Customs !! It's a real pain in the butt, when you order something - pay the going price, then get hit with an extra "tax" on top... just to have it in your hands !! Never mind...
I must away...
I thank you all, for logging in & reading my words.... I really do enjoy seeing, who has logged in, from Italy, Germany & the rest of the World. Again, I thank you..... until next time..
Bye Bye
