So, we're here again - B has just gone out leaving me & the guys 'home alone'...... it's a good day (again) so no moans on my part !! Besides, ME & J are doing the dishes, so what is there to moan about ?!! ME is awaiting her boyfriend (M) - but we're not sure what time he is going to get here.... never mind !!
The only 'down part' of the day has been the lack of post !! I'm waiting for an exact date for my next surgery & as yet it's failed to get here..... we've had a load of 'holidays' this past 2 weeks, so I expect (hope !) the letter is in the post - it better be !! I need to know when things are going to happen, so B & I can plan our time better. Oh well - it'll get here when it gets here.... we can work from there, tho' the pain is getting a bit of a problem !! There is only so many drugs I can take & then I get poorly from the drugs !! Life goes on....
I was watching a thing earlier, about the Battle Of Gettysburg..... I guess I'll never know exactly what it was like, but the 'bravery' of the soldiers was incredible !! On the 3rd day of the battle, when the last Southern 'attack' took place - the soldiers were retreating backwards (walking backwards) so they wouldn't be shot in the back. It was better to be shot in the body, from the front, rather than be killed in retreat !!
An amazing story - I hope soon to get copies of Shelby Foote's books, about the Civil War - but as yet they are still out of print over here in England !! Shame really, as I really enjoy reading about history & how it effects upon us now. I'm still reading 'The Fatal Shore' by Robert Hughes.... but I've had problems getting to it over the last week or so. I'll read it slowly but surely !!
On our TV this week, they're showing 5 minute programmes featuring members of The Church !! It's really unusual to see anything 'good' about The Church on TV - but these are 5 minute slots, where members of the Church talk to camera..... really good to watch !! I was wondering if any of The Church leaders were invited to the Royal Wedding - I doubt it...... I know I wasn't !! Anyhooo, the programmes are quite good......
ME was here earlier, looking at my blog 'stats' - she was amazed that people are reading these words around the World !! So, "hello" to all of you out there from my Daughter - it's great to know you're there !!
The music of the moment is the soundtrack to the 'Dr Who' TV show... the last season & the first with Matt Smith - it's really a good listen, I hope the neighbours agree - I have it a bit loud at the moment !! Play it loud & wake everybody up - where is the problem with that ? It helps that the people next door are slightly deaf........
Earlier I was playing some '68 Canned Heat - I love that band, even if most of them are dead now..... it was the 'Living The Blues' album, for those who know their music - great bit of boogie !! I played the Cd a lot when I was in hospital a few years back - means a lot to me that album !! Oh - I finally finished the Allman Brothers concert CDs I had a few weeks or more back !! The last 3 concerts were from 3 nights in Washington in 2010...... 3 concerts over 3 nights & not 1 track repeated !! That has to be good value for money & worth playing over & over !!
Tomorrow we have to go into town... pay some bills & do some shopping. I also have to buy some new paint for the hall area...... we have some blue stuff, but it's 'too' blue if that makes any sense ? We thought it was going to be lighter, but - we'll see what else we can find. I put a blob on the wall to check it out & we (B & I) aren't impressed - tho' M liked it as soon as she came in the door !! Maybe I'll get some white, with a blue tint or something.... see what we can find in our price range. It's quite expensive, for what it is - but we'll get by Ok !! I just hope what I pick up covers the blue on the wall - didn't think too far a head on that one !! It's only a small bit - but it could be a problem I guess.....
Ok, the music of the moment is a Rush bootleg from their 1980 tour & I must away...... 'tis getting late & I - as those who me know will testify - need my beauty sleep !!
