How Not To Give A Talk !!

Hi Everybody - How Are Your Worlds Treating You Today !!

It's a Tuesday here in old England - I'm sat here, J is upstairs, B has gone to a gym class & ME has gone into town for lunch.... something to do with her finishing her Uni placement this week, I'm really not sure to be honest !!

Anyhoooooo - is a bright, cold day here.... there is a lot of mist out over the coast, so the sea is hidden away at the moment - I can't see anything, but a fog bank rolling up the channel !!  Never mind, it's pretty warm here in the house, so I'm not toooooo worried !!

It's been a good weekend, B & I went to Church yesterday & I managed to stay for the whole service !!  I've not been able to do that for a long time..... mind you, B did slip me some pain killers, part way thru' - so that helped !!  It was our Remembrance Sunday service & I really wanted to go to that..... I even managed to stand for the two minutes silence - with a lot of help from B, who held onto me so I didn't fall over !!  I'm glad we went.........

....... if nothing else, to remember those who have died, to think of Our Lord & to listen to one of the most "off the wall" rambling talks, I think I have ever heard at Church !!  It started off fine, but after about 30 minutes or so, Bishop gave the speaker a note - we're guessing - telling him to sit down !!  It was one of those talks - well, to be honest, I don't really know what the subject was.... it just rambled along, with no real conclusion or anything else really !!  What made it even more "exciting" was the second speaker - who, well - just rambled along for another 10 or so minutes..... again, no subject - just a talk !!

I asked B if we had brought food, I could see the service going on for hours !!  As it was, it all finished off just 5 minutes late....... it was a service to remember & that was for sure !!  I'm glad we went !!  If nothing else, it was a lesson on how not to give a talk !!  I don't think we'll be going on Sunday, I'm supposed to rest up this weekend, but I'll see how things go........ I would like to go, if I'm able.......

It's one week today, then it'll be into the hospital for my next surgery - seven whole days & I hope it'll be done !!  I just want to get it over with now...... get it all behind me !!

Oh well...... life goes on....... the music of the moment is Jimi Hendrix's 'Electric Ladyland' album.  No real reason, I just found it on the shelf & decided to give it a play.....  some of it is pretty good, but I prefer his live stuff really......
