It's a Tuesday evening here in old England.... it's getting colder with each passing day - so, 'winter' is on the ways !! Last weekend, the clocks altered here - they went back an hour..... so everybody got an extra hour in bed - not that I would think it's made any difference !! We're all as tired as usual !!
Anyways.... the family are here abouts - B has just gone out to Weight Watchers, ME has just come home from Uni placement & J is beside me, watching an episode of Star Trek with the sound turned off !! I'm playing some music - so.....
B has been out already today - some kind of gym class - so, I've had a day indoors !! I was sooooo tired earlier, I went back to bed & slept for 2 or 3 hours. I didn't mean to - I just fell asleep & woke up hours later !! Never mind..... It did help tho' - my back was hurting like mad, before I lay down - now.... it's much better !!
That has been a main problem these past weeks - not being able to get the pain under control, in my back. Never mind... it'll sort itself out, somehow, along the ways !! But, it is a bit of a bu**er - like on Sunday, trying to get comfy, in my wheel chair, was just not going to happen !! Oh well...... it meant we left Church early, but......
I was checking my page views earlier - I was just 4 views off a new record for the month !! That was cool !!

I spent a lot of this morning (before going to bed) listening to the Peter Gabriel concert that was on the radio, last week - I think...... not sure now !! It was recorded on October 19th - so, it must of been a couple of weeks back.... anyhoooo - it was good to listen to it & work out if I can put it onto a Cd at some point. At the moment, it's on an audio DVD - so, I need to make the transfer, in order to play it easier & more often. It should fit Ok, I just have to sit down & work it out !! Compared to the DVD that came out a while back - it's different, so - that was good......
The music of the moment - well, it's a bit weird really........ It's one section of the 'Live Aid' show from 1985.
I have some Cd's of the day & the one playing at the moment features, mostly, the acts that performed in America. REO Speedwagon have just finished their set.... Crosby, Stills & Nash are just playing 'Teach The Children' as I type.
I remember on the day of the broadcast - I stayed in most of the day to watch whatever was on at the time. My ex-wife never did get over that !! Remember folks - in Bermuda, listening to music is grounds for a divorce !! I kid you not !! Each to there own I guess...... Judas Priest are just playing 'Green Manalishi' - quite apt when talking about your ex !! Oh well.......mustn't be mean - I'll leave that well alone.......
I was going to play Nazareth's 'Snaz' live album - but the 'Live Aid' disc sort of got in the way.... maybe later. I forgot just how good Judas Priest were at the time this was recorded.... It was a good day of music & raised a lot of money as well !! I must play it again soon.......
My plans for this week are to try & relax - try to sort myself out a bit. I know I've been let down on this before, but - it's 3 weeks today that I'm due in for surgery !! So - that's 21 days & counting.... and, believe me... I am counting !! I think I'll go spare if they cancel it again !! I know the Consultant didn't plan on going sick - but, this should of been behind me by now !! Here's hoping, by this time next month, it will be !!
I had an e-mail from a friend earlier... he asked if I would be at the next record fair in Exeter, on December 3rd. Now, that would be good - something to look forward to, but...... we'll see how things turn out !! I hope by then, to be out of hospital & well recovered, but... time will tell !! Pain is one thing, but handling the various bits & bods, after surgery are another !! We'll see - he is probably hoping I'll meet up with him, but I can't think that far ahead !!
Another friend phoned me yesterday & is sending some Cd's down to me to listen to - so, that'll be good. My friends are always doing this - they know how much music means to me & how much I enjoy listening to it !! At the moment, Eric Clapton has just launched into 'Layla' - I really must play these discs more often !!
Next on the list is Gillan's 'Live At The Rainbow' set from March 5th 1981 - I guess I can't get much further away from 'Live Aid' as that !! There is a bit, in the Book of Alma that goes something like: "The names of the righteous shall be written in the book of life". The Lord is here, with me at all times & I would like to think the music I play will be with me forever, in my book of life, somehow tho' - well..... I'm know the Lord will see me thru' everything !! Music does help tho'....... it takes my mind off the various things that are bothering me from day to day, but the Lord & my family are there for me all the time !! Oh well.........
It's getting on a bit now, so I must think about sorting myself out a bit...... so, for another night, I will say thanks for reading. Until next time....
