Iron Maiden - Green Day & A Mess....

Greetings Worlds !!

'Tis another Friday here in England.... another week has almost gone & it's still cold & wet outside !!  never mind - after a few hours out this morning, I'm staying warm & dry in the house.... well, for the rest of the day at least !!

For some reason, my computer is very slow today... so, hopefully it won't pack up on me.

Right... the family.  ME is at work, J is upstairs & B... My Wife & Dearest Friend... has just gone across the road.  As you may have read before - from time to time - she helps one of our neighbours, who is having a few problems at the moment....... it only takes a couple of hours, once every few weeks - so, it's no big deal !! I know where she is, if I need anything.

I've been out & about this morning.... once more into the breach dear friends...... well, actually, once more into the hospital, for another check up !!  The great news is - it should be my last visit of the year... the bad news is, 2013 is just around the corner & I can guarantee I'll be back there at some point then !!

No - it all went pretty well & the Dr I saw today has decided - for now - that he doesn't need to see me for a while, unless I have the need to see him !!  It's fine by me.... if I have problems, I can give him a ring (I guess) and go back & see him.... it's better than knowing I have another visit in a few months !!

After that trip - we headed back into town & picked up a few bits we needed....... I think B will be going in, again, tomorrow.... probably early, as it's carnival night & the streets will be crazy from about lunchtime onwards !!

There are already vans & stuff parked up... along the procession route.... to get the best places !!  One of the super markets has allowed people to park their mobile homes along the car park... so, they get a good view !!  How mad is that - they've been there for a few days now & the carnival doesn't happen until tomorrow night !!

I'm not a big carnival fan......... I do remember going to them, as a young kid... I also remember being freezing cold & tired !!  Maybe that put me off !!

For those of you who have been reading for a while... it's going to be a year tomorrow that there was a massive car crash on the motorway, which killed quite a few people.  It's worth remembering that.... !!

Ok - the music of the moment is Iron Maiden's concert, from Castle Donington on August 22 1992.... I've just realised it's over 20 years old !!  How crazy is that !!  I only found it because I was trying, unsuccessfully to sort out the shelves... making more room for the Cd's !!  Oh well.... I knew I had a copy.... just didn't know where it was !!

It's been a great week for music..... I've picked up some more David Bowie Cd's.... 'The Man who Sold The World'..... 'Young Americans'... 'Scary Monsters'... & 'Low'...... plus, this morning, I've got myself a copy of Green Day's 'Uno' Cd.  I played that one thru' earlier and I liked what I heard.. so, with the Therion Cd's & WASP's album... well, it's been a great week for new music in the homestead !!

Plus - I have another Zeppelin concert !!  So, from November 2nd 1969, recorded in Toronto, the tracks are:

I don't think it's a complete concert, but - given it's age - it's a great recording of the band !!  As always, don't buy bootlegs !!  More another time......

We had a bit of bad news this week.... because of the storms in America, our friends from Utah have cancelled their trip to the UK..... bummer !!  We were really looking forward to seeing them both - 5 years is far too long !!  Never mind - given what has happened, a cancelled trip is the least of a problem.  We'll see you soon guys....... just not as soon as we had hoped !!

But... last night, we had all of the Missionaries around !!  It's great to have all 4 of them in the house.  Last night B cooked them up a roast & they seemed to enjoy it...especially the cakes - which seemed to go down well !!  They left with 2 plates full... if they lasted until they got home... well, I'm sure they will be back again !!

As it was, we had a great evening... meeting our new Missionary Elder.  Our young Spanish Elder has now moved to the London area, so.... we have a new lad in our area.  They're all great fun !!

Right, my plans for today..... well, I need to do a bit of a tidy up - my desk looks like a bomb has hit it !!  Plus - well, I had a box set of season 5 of 'Star Trek Voyager'... which I know is not everybody's kettle of fish, but I like it.  This morning I watched a very funny episode called 'Bride of Chaotica' & it was brilliant !! I guess it was the funniest 'Voyager' I've ever seen..... lot's of laughs !!  So - I'll probably watch another bit of the box set..... I know - it makes me kind of a idiot, but - it's all fun !!
