Led Zeppelin - Newcastle 1971 & The Monkees !!

Greetings Worlds !!

Well, as I type - it's another Friday & I feel like total c**p !!  So - after what I will only call a "bad night" - if this all falls apart & I stop sharp-ish, please accept my apologies in advance !!

But... it is a Friday & the end (sort of) another week !!  "Wow".... where does all the time go, when you're having fun ?!  It will soon be Christmas & another New Year !!..........

Anyhoo.....

I'm here, along with J.... B & ME (who is on a day off) have gone off shopping & to deliver a birthday gift to ME's God Son.... he is 2 today (I think) so, she wanted to take his toy over......  Thinking about it, she is working thru' the weekend, so the birthday might be on a day she can't get to see him, so.....  Onwards !!

She (ME) is a little upset with work..... when she took the job, it was on the understanding she wouldn't do any night shifts.  As it's a 2 hour round trip - the last thing she wanted, was to work all night & then have to drive home tired !!

Well, anyways.... yesterday - when she looked at next weeks work rota - they had her down to work, not only next week, but the following week on nights !!  Bummer !!

As far as I know, she talked to her boss about it & he was going to look into it.... it's not right !!  She took the job on that understanding, so they really can't change things now !!  I've told her, not to do it - mainly, if she does it once, they will expect her to do it again !!  We'll see how things turn out - but, I know it's upset her !!

If all goes well, I hope, some Cd's should reach me today...... they were posted on Tuesday, so - even allowing for our rubbish postal service - something ought to get here today !!  As mentioned before - I'm expecting some more live Therion shows..... hopefully before the weekend !!  i will let you know how things go !!

In the meantime, today, I'm playing the first 5 albums that  The Monkees put out...... I know, I'm completely bonkers... but, when we went to Bristol, the other week, I picked up a box set collection & today, I decided to give them a little listen to !!

It's really sad... but, I seem to know most of the lyrics !!  Luckily, each Cd is really short - so, I won't take too long, going thru' them !!  It's sad - but, kind of fun - to play something "light hearted" sometimes !!

Right, as I don't know what I'm doing over the weekend - as far as writing is concerned... I've decided to jump ahead 2 days & list a Zeppelin show from November 11th 1971.  It was recorded in Newcastle & is on 2 Cd's.... The tracks are:

It's, unfortunately not a complete concert...... the 'Whole Lotta Love' medley is missing, but is still a good show.  By this time, the 4th album was out & most people were familiar with the "newer" tracks..... & looking at the shows I've been listing, from the 1969 tour... well, things are getting longer & louder !!

As always - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff first !!  That will include the 2007 concert, which is due out in a week or two...... it's not the best thing they've ever done - but, it's going to worth having in the collection !!  More next week.......

This weekend, if I'm well enough to go to Church, we have a meeting arranged with The Temple President.  It's all part of the build up to our proposed visit to The Temple, at some point... when ever that happens, if it happens !!

Anyhoo - the guy & his Wife, are coming down to our Church on Sunday & the plan is, for us to meet him & see what he thinks about our visit..... mainly... well, not so much, if we can go... more on what is going to happen when/if we get there !!

There are people, in The Church, who still seem to feel it's about them..... it's going to our day & I - hand on heart - want it to be special, with just B & I.... not a whole bundle of people, who want to go & be with us !!

If people can't just let us do, what we want to do, well...... I'll be quite happy to stay at home !!  Time will tell, I guess - but, I'm starting to get fed up with the whole thing !!  Why can't people just let us, be us & let it go at that ?!  Never mind.......

Last night - well, early evening - the 2 Elders came over & answered a few of our questions..... the same questions that, only a month ago, nobody would answer !!  How mad is that ? I'm really getting fed up with all of it !!

Right.... I'm getting tired, so I better be on my ways.......

In the next few days, I have to write a letter & that's going to be hard work....... not something I'm looking forward to do..... It's not something I really have to do, but - it needs doing.... all very weird !!  I'll let you know how it goes....
