"one last thought....." Ho-hum...

Greeting's !!

It's another Monday & it's not the best of days.... weather-wise. We went into town, a little earlier & it was a little mizzly. That's a cross between drizzling & muggy. Mind you - I stayed in the car - we only had to go into the bank, sooooo B did the honours !!

Anyhoo - we're both home now. Neither of us had a very good night, both feeling poorly, so we're having a quiet couple of hours. We plan on doing the grocery shop tomorrow, sometime. Not 100% sure exactly when - I guess that will depend on how well we feel in the morning !!

B is keep ing herself going, by doing a bit of housework.... me, I'm just sat here, at the computer & listening to music. More of that later. First - B's fortune at the craft fair !!

All seems to have gone well.... and she sold a goodly part of her stock...... so all of the long hours, making stuff, seems to have paid off - depending how you cost things out !!

As she was doing it all, mostly for the fun of doing it, well - she came home with quite a profit. If you take into account, the time she took to make things.... well, we won't go there !!

In the end... she was happy & there will be more cash, for another trip to the material shop, that we found a few weeks back + any other place she wants to go & buy some new stuff. It'll be down to where she wants to go really !! She did well..... and that's a fact !!

At the end of the day, ME joined her - at the hall - that was a little surprise !! She came here first & then went to the hall, when I explained where B was. It was a little company..... plus a bit of good luck.... to explain !!

Not only did B win the envelope prize - she (or ME - not sure which) won the raffle as well !! B would admit - she never wins anything, sooooo to win 2 prizes in one afternoon is really good !! Bless her - I'm glad she had a good time & sold some stuff !!

Yesterday, was a bit of a catch-up day...... some rest & a bit of a tidy up, after the madness that proceeded the craft fair. We did consider going to Church.... but, to be blunt, Saturday night was not the best one I've ever had, sooooo !! I was glad just to chillaxe at home, for a few hours.

Add Saturday night, to last night & things can only get better. Another night playing the Game Of Thrones will send me doo-alley !! I would just like a night, where I get a full 8 hours sleep, that would be nice !! Oh well.... life goes on & on....

Changing the subject... the NFH is still being a pain - but has given us something to smile/laugh about today. She has made complaint, after complaint, about how people drive in our little Close... yet....

On one occasion, she has driven into a parked car.... which we had a good smile about..... but, last night, despite all of her moaning, she made our day (night/day ?)..... She forgot, to put her parking brake on & her car crashed into her brand new garage door !! Not only did the door need to be fixed, but she has put a lovely dent in her posh car !!

I'm the first to say, I'm no Saint - but she has made me smile & that's a fact !! She should remember the old "let him throw stones" thingy.... it all comes back to bite you in the end !!

Right - 'The Music Of The Moment'...... I seem to have taken to giving it it's own title section - "why not ?" !! Why not indeed !!

It's an tape of mine - which I recorded years ago & simply goes by the name of 'Music tape 6'. As you can guess - there were 5 before it - only one of which survives (I think) to this day !! Anyhoo - the tracks are:

Side A

1) Fanfare For The Common Man - ELP
2) Tie Your Mother Down - Queen
3) Heart Of The Sunrise - Yes
4) Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who
5) Burn - Deep Purple
6) You Keep On Moving - Deep Purple
7) Come & Go Blues - Allman Brothers Band
8) Wild Dogs - Tommy Bolin

Side B

  1) Southern Man - Neil Young
  2) C'est Vie - ELP
  3) '39 Queen
  4) Long Distance Runaround - Yes
  5) I Know What I Like - Genesis
  6) Brighton Rock - Queen
  7) Can't Loose What You Never Had - Allman Brothers Band
  8) Sweet Dream - Jethro Tull
  9) Soldier Of Fortune - Deep Purple
10) Still You Turn Me On - ELP

I've put the above onto Cd & it came out really well... better than I expected really !! Heck - I've written about this before, but it was just an old tape, that I did for playing in the car - to put it onto Cd was just a bit of indulgence on my part.... fun tho' !!

Something else, that was a bit of an indulgence, was the following......

The battle rages on,
at the very threshold of my life,
I know that these few final hours,
have been dearly purchased.

Yet my resolve has not waned.

I can not hope to save myself,
but I can hope, that one last insight,
one last thought, before I die,
may prevent this happening to another.

Every time, that I have to have a big surgery - or a small one, for that matter - I write a few lines, for B to find...... these were the lines I wrote last time. Ok - a bit of an indulgence on my part, but.... !! I wrote them down, on the day of my surgery, at 5 minutes past midnight - it's all good !!

Right - I better be on my ways... episodes of 'Farscape' to watch & time to listen to some more music !! As always, I thank you all for logging in & reading my words.... what are you all listening to, as you read, I wonder ?! Let me know, I would be very interested to know !!

Best go - my thanks to my reader in Russia.... I'm glad to know you're logging in - what are you listening to ? Let me know - maybe we share the same taste in music.... until next time...

Bye Bye
