Greetings Worlds...
I hope you are all feeling good this morning.... it's a little after 10.30am, here in England & I'm feeling pretty fine !! It's a Thursday - the Sun is out & I think it's going to be another hot day in our part of England !!
I've had 2 bit's of good news & 1 not so good...... the bad news first. My trusted 5 disc Cd player is no longer in the house !! To refresh the plot..... It's been playing up for quite a while & yesterday, I just got fed up with it & telephoned the repair company. It was under an insurance, so I called them up first, to get repair approval, followed by a call to the 'Repair Guys' - I kid you not, that's their trade name - and one of them came out this morning to see if he could fix it. He couldn't, so my machine is now in the back of his van, on it's travels back to their workshop. Bummer..........
Never mind - I have a couple of other Cd players here, so... I'm using one of them at the moment to listen to music..... which at the moment is Pink Floyd's 'Echoes' 2 Cd set. having played sooooo much Led Zeppelin over the last few days - I wanted something different to listen to !!
Anyhoo - my deck should be back with me, in about 2 weeks or so - hopefully fit & ready for more action !! It will be missed - but, at £2 a month, for the insurance cover - it's been a worthwhile cost. It would of been a lot more than that, just to have it looked at, let alone
fixed !! Plus - if it can't be fixed, it's has to be replaced (under the insurance agreement) so, that's a "win-win" situation for me !! Hopefully it won't come to that - but, we will see how things go...... onwards !!
That's the bad news - the good news is Lady V has answered my e-mail & all of the package we set, did reach her "Ok" + my friend in South America is sending me a copy of the latest Zeppelin boot... another 1975 soundboard recording... it's all good !!
Ok - as I type, J is upstairs.... keeping an eye on me..... ME is at her Uni placement & B has gone to a Carers meeting, in town..... she will be home later. She wasn't a happy puppy, when she went out - I must point out, it was nothing I had done !!
I mentioned before, how our neighbours are separating... well, as part of that, they are selling their house. This morning, the lady came over & asked B to let a man in, to look at the place and he would be here at 9am. he didn't get here until after 10 !! In the meantime, B has gone out & J has just let the guy in & out to do his whatever he came to do !! B wasn't happy at having to wait for the guy to get here... oh well, it's done now !!
I mentioned ME was still on placement... she has officially passed her degree, but... there are a couple more weeks, or so, to go - then the placement will be done & the whole Uni thing will be completed !!
She is a mentor 3 new (1st year) students, and is looking forward to that.... they all live a ways away, but she is up for the task & that's the main thing !!
Her boyfriend M liked his birthday present, that B gave him last night...... it was a brand new £50 note, to use as he wishes. We did consider getting him something else, but we thought he could use the cash anyway he wanted !! He is a great lad - he really is.......
It really is warming up here - I've just opened the back door, to let some air blow in - tho' there is very little of that today. The air is just humid & horrid with it !! Oh well....... Floyd's 'Echoes' is playing as I type - a great track !!
Ok - I promised a concert, from 1973. So, on May 31st that year, the band did a show in Los Angeles. The resulting tape of the show, became one of the most famous Led Zeppelin bootlegs of all time. The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Celebration Day
3) Black Dog
4) Over The Hills & Far Away
5) Misty Mountain Hop
6) Since I've Been Loving You
7) No Quarter
CD 2
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) The Rain Song
3) Dazed & Confused
4) Stairway To Heaven
CD 3
1) Moby Dick
2) Heartbreaker
3) Whole Lotta Love
4) Communication Breakdown
5) The Ocean
That's just one of the Cd's that have come out of the show, which became World famous as 'Bonzo's Birthday Party'.... I first had a copy on 2 Lp's.... which I gave to my late Brother-In-Law, the first day I ever met him.... then, it came out on a single Cd, followed by the above 3 Cd. All of those were audience recordings... the same one that was used on the Lp's. But a few years back, everything but the last 2 tracks came out on a soundboard 2 Cd set. There are probably other versions, but those are the ones I know about.
The original Lp's had a really strange 'advert' on side 3 - for "Prunes of California" - so, if you have a Cd with that on, you can more or less assume it's a knock off of the Lp's.
It's a great set - but, as always - don't buy bootlegs.... as I've said before, the 1973 set is available out officially, so go & buy that instead !! More another day !!
Right, my plans for today.... none at all !! I'm just going to kick back & watch some TV... sounds great doesn't it !! I'll probably have to have a little bit of sleep as well - I didn't have the best of nights... so...
Anyhoo, for now - I will away.. until next time !!
Bye Bye

The Theme From Shaft & Cathedrals !!
Greetings Worlds !!
After a day of feeling pretty 'poorly', I'm back & fighting fit.... well, sort of !! I'm not sure what went wrong yesterday - but, having gone to bed about 6.30pm and having a decent night's sleep, I feel much better for it all !!
Ok - it's a Wednesday here in England.... I see my Russian reader has logged on today, so - "Hello" to you !! I hope you are well & I thank you for your time today !!
Talking of time... I've got our cat - the little lady - here beside me & she seems to think that, instead of writing these words - I should be making a fuss of her !! So - after a few minutes break, to play "catch the tail" - she has gone back outside. It is a great night outside tho'... so I don't blame her !! Oh well - back to the keyboard...
..... which is giving me a few problems tonight !! I got fed up with my old board & bought a new one today.... the problem I'm having is simple... it's a good 4 inches smaller than the old one - that means, I'm typing the wrong keys !! I'm used to where my old keys were & of course, everything is in a slightly different position !! I will get used to it - just going to take a bit of time..... !!
Anyhoo - we went into town earlier, mainly to pay a couple of bills & to pick up some odds & ends. This board was for sale (£5) in ASDA... so, I went for it. I didn't realise it was soooo much smaller than my old one, but it''s no big deal really !!
I've had a good day really - I've been careful & got a few things ordered, that I wanted from 'Play'... a couple of DVD's & a Cd.... I hope they will be here later this week, or at worse, towards the end of next week..... When I ordered them, I forgot - with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee events, over this weekend - there are going to be 2 national holidays next week... so, that will slow things down a little
bit !! Oh well - as long as they get here by the end of the coming week, I won't mind too much.
I also ordered up a new stylus for the record deck. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before - but, I had to stop recording our friends Lp's, mainly as (I think) the stylus has packed up. I won't know for certain, until the new one reaches me - but, I think the old one had had it's day !! The lady I spoke to - where I ordered it from - seemed very nice & says it might reach me before the weekend.... so, that will be good !! I'm looking forward to putting it in the thing & seeing what difference it makes to the sound system !!
Also - I've given up on my main Cd player.... there are times it won't play Cd's, while the other machine will.... so, as the main one is covered with an insurance policy, I 'phoned up today & arranged to get it looked at !! There is no point in having the thing, if it only plays Cd's when it wants to.... so, I hope it will get collected tomorrow & fixed for me !!
I hope it can be sorted - it's a brilliant machine - or, it would be, if it worked all the time !! I'll have to wait & see what happens tomorrow - that's when the guy is coming to look at it & see if it can be sorted !! here's hoping folks.... I do not want to go too many days with-out it.... I use the thing every day, so it will be missed !!
The Cd, I've ordered, is the latest by Joe Bonamassa... as is one of the DVD's.... the other one is another season of 'ER' for B - I've not bought one for her over the last couple of weeks, so if I'm to get them for her birthday, in October, I have to get a few more !! I've still got time... but, I don't want to wait too long !!
Talking of B... she has gone back into town, to meet up with ME & M + to go to a gym class. As I've said before - it was M's birthday on Monday & unfortunately, we were unable to get his gift in time. So, we got it today & B is going to give it to him tonight. I think he will like it...... I'll let you know - but, not just yet, incase he reads these words !!
So - B is out, ME is out & that leaves J - who is upstairs, on his computer..... We were going to take him to his weekend away, on Friday (I think) - but he has decided to catch the train, so we've given him some cash, to help with his fare.... it's the least we could do for him.
Ok - that's the family.... the music of the moment is another Zeppelin concert, which I won't write about just yet. I've spent quite a bit of time going thru' the collection - over the last couple of days and the one I'm playing... well, I hadn't played it for a while, so I thought "why not" ?! However, I do have a couple of concerts from May 30th... one from 1977 & an earlier one. I've mentioned a few 1977 shows recently, so for tonight, I'm going back to 1969 & a show from the Fillmore East, in New York. The tracks are:
1) Train Kept A Rollin'
2) I Can't Quit You
3) Dazed & Confused
4) You Shook Me
5) White Summer-Black Mountain side
6) How Many More Times
7) Communication Breakdown
It's funny really - how, in 1969.. an hour for a concert was acceptable, yet by the time 1977 came around, they were playing 3 times that & still we expected more !! It's a good concert tho' & I'm pleased somebody was able to keep a recording of it, for people like me to play many many years later !!
The 1977 concert, was the last night in Landover - the last of 4 concerts they did there, that year. I really like the '77 shows, but it's great to listen to the old ones from time to time !! As always - do not buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff !! More tomorrow....... from 1973......
Tomorrow is going to be a quiet day, for me at least !! B has to go back into town, in the morning, or early afternoon and while she is there, she is going over to her hairdresser's for her usual "trim around the edges" !! As we live 8 miles out of town, she wants to do all the 'jobs' in one trip.... pay bills, go to the bank & stuff. So, while she is out for a few hours, I'll be here, keeping myself amused.... playing Cd's & watching TV, no doubt !!
I'm still working my way thru' all of the "Babylon 5" box sets... so, that's keeping me happy & off the streets - for a while at least !! Not that I need much to keep me happy......... I'm easily pleased !!
Oh yes.... last night, by chance, I recorded a great programme about Queens Maltilda & Eleanor.. it was brilliant. If you've never heard of them, they were about 900 odd years ago. I enjoy history type programmes & that was right up my alley !! What I didn't know, at the time, was tonight there is a second programme.... this time about Queen Isabella of France & Margaret of Anjou... plus, there is a third programme tomorrow !! Ok - I know it's not to everybody's taste - but, I love these type of programmes !!
Let me go into any of our Cathedrals and I'm in my element !! Looking at the old & not so old tombs..... if you guys ever get to England, or if you live here already, go for it..... it's brilliant !!
We were in Cornwall, in about 2004, and we went into the Cathedral in Truro....... me, being me, I got talking to this member of the Clergy, who was just there & we talked for about 30 minutes, about the building, it's history and everything. What I didn't find out, until a couple of years ago - the guy I was talking to, was actually the Bishop of Cornwall !! How was I to know ?! It was only when we saw him, on TV, that we realised who it was we had been shown around the place by !! Real 'red carpet' treatment !! Oh well.........
Our Bishop wasn't too happy on Sunday, it seems that somebody had left the Church & not locked up behind them !! It was only when someone else went there, that they found the place all open !! Our building is not the sort of place you leave open.... !! Not good !! Slapped wrist for that one folks !!
Oh well.... my plans for tonight...... "none at all" !! Well, nothing too exciting anyways !! I still have another Cd to listen to & get myself, sort of, ready for bed.... B will help me with that, when she gets home... so, that's not for a little while.... plus, I have to go thru' what I've written - just to pick up the worst of my mistakes !! I know, I always miss a few, but.... with this new keyboard, I'm guessing there will be more than a few !! never mind.... I will away...... no, I won't...
...... why do I collect Led Zeppelin concerts ?.... well... the one I'm playing, is a good case in point. Not only did the whole thing go to pot, during 'Rock & Roll' - but, during 'Dazed & Confused' they did a bit of the 'Theme from Shaft' !! It's not the sort of thing you get on the official releases !! Oh well... until next time..
Bye Bye

Tyler Woolley RIP
Well "Hello" World's...
I hope you are well & happy this fine Monday morning ?! The Sun is out, here in England & it looks like it might be another hot day. Me - I'm staying in the house today - so, as long as it's cool.... that's where I will
be !!
A day or 2 back, we brought the electric fan down from the bedroom..... we each have one, for when it's too hot. So, our's is now down here in the living room. It's not doing very much - but, it does move the air around a little bit !!
Today is going to be a quiet one for me..... I had a really good night's sleep & now I'm just letting the day drift by - not wanting to spoil things !! B said I could of stayed in bed a bit longer, but... I needed to get up or else, I would probably slept all morning !!
B has gone into town, to put some money in the bank, pay some bills & do a bit of shopping. I think she is also go to have a go in the gym as well.... save time & petrol, by not going back in tonight. I guess she will be home in a couple of hours.
ME is on a training day.... she needs to get her 'hours' up on certain aspects of her Uni course, so.... today, she is helping at a home, just a few miles away. So leaves J & your's truly here on our own. He is upstairs - probably working on his computer... so, I'm here in the living room.....
........ The music of the moment is Bad Co.'s 'Merchants Of Cool' 2 Cd live set....... I wanted something a bit different to listen to & this fitted the bill !! It bop's along quite nicely, thank you !!
On Friday (I think) J is going away for the weekend... no big deal. But, it was going to cost him about £50 in train fare, so B has decided that we'll take him instead. It will only cost a fraction of that, to take him by car..... so, that's a plan. I'm not 100% sure where he is going, but B is convinced it's not too far - so, that will be a trip out.... hopefully !! If the weather is good - it will make for a nice trip.....
I mentioned the boat accident in Oklahoma...... well, they found Tyler Woolley's body on Friday (I think) - which was quite good, as it would of been his 20th birthday. I'm glad they found him - it must of been horrible for his folks, not knowing exactly where he was. Our thoughts & prayers go out to them.
It's 'funny' - never having known the guy - how I've followed the story, I'm really pleased they found him !!
As I type - my table is full of junk - mostly Cd's & (for some reason) 3 boxes of floppy discs !! I found them, by accident, last week..... what is on them, I have no idea - but, I'm guessing it's some of my old college stuff & maybe an early list or 2 of our collections. I haven't used them in years, so.... it will be interesting to see what they contain !!
I must tidy up a bit - but, most of the that comes from sorting out the Zeppelin collection. I have another box here to go thru'... hopefully, the more boxes I do, the better the mess on the table will get !!
I have a couple of concerts from May 28th - so, I've picked one from 1973.. the tracks are:
CD 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Celebration Day
3) Black Dog
4) Over The Hills & Far Away
5) Misty Mountain Hop
6) Since I've Been Loving You
7) No Quarter
8) The Song Remains The Same
9) The Rain Song
10) Dazed & Confused
CD 2
1) Moby Dick
2) Stairway To Heaven
3) Heartbreaker
4) Whole Lotta Love
5) The Ocean
It was recorded in San Diego & is a good one to have in the collection. By the time the band reached California, the set list had become standard - the only changes coming in the 'Whole Lotta Love' medleys. The following show, in Los Angeles, was cancelled.... which took them to May 31st & one of their most famous shows..... more another day.
As always - do not by bootlegs. The 1973 set is available officially, so... buy that instead..... it's on 'The Song Remains The Same' 2 cd set.... so, buy that instead !!
Ok - as mentioned.... I don't plan on going out today... so, my plans are to stay here & sort out the Cd's and the mess on the table in front of me !! Having said that - B might come home, with some other plan, but - until then.... I'm staying here !!
So - I will away for now.... until next time....
Bye Bye

CD 2

Amsterdam 27-5-72 - 'Running Bear' & Eurovision !!
Greetings Worlds !!
How is your Sunday going ?! It's a beautiful day here in the wilds of England - a bit cloudy, but... sooooo warm it's unreal !! B has gone out into the garden - the bit that is in the shade - leaving me here typing these words to you !!
I see from the log in data, my American & Russian readers have been reading this morning - which I guess means evening in Russia & dawn in America ?! Which ever, I thank you for your time !!
I don't usually post on Sunday's... but - it's been a really good day & I wanted to share......
We got up (early) and made it over to Church. I'm glad we did, as we have a new Elder... from California & he introduced himself to the congregation. He has only been in the country for a week &
two days !! I'm sure the Missionaries are getting younger &
younger !! I think this new guy is right out of junior school !! oh well....
It was a good service - which I won't bore you with all the details, but I'm really glad we went...... The lady I've been doing the Lp's for is going into hospital & having surgery on Friday - so, I'm glad we saw her Husband today & was able to offer any help we could - as well as handing over 15 Cd's for them to listen
to !!
I have only 4 more to do for them - but (there is always a but)... my deck is out of commission at the moment, I think I have damaged the stylus.... bummer !! I'll have to find a company on the net, to order a new one. There aren't that many shops in, our little area, that sell them. Anyhoo - I'll try & find one this week & see how much it's going to cost.... it might be cheap, but I'm not holding my heart beats over that one !!
I diverse - Church was good.... I'm glad we went.... it's not always possible, but today was a good day & I'm pleased to have been able to make it..... onwards, ever onwards !!
I mentioned B - out in the garden...... J is home, upstairs in his Hobbit hole. ME has gone up to Bristol, with M.... who I think wanted to show his car off to someone there. He has just got - a few weeks back - a Mini Cooper & he is well happy with it !!
Monday is his 21st birthday & yesterday B made him a birthday cake, with a bit Mini badge on it !! He was so happy with it, he really was !! He stayed over night & they went off early this morning.... I think ME wanted a bit of a longer stay in bed, but M got her up really early !! She should of learnt by now - if she wants a sleep, in the morning, she has to lock her door & keep herself on the other side of it - with M on our side !! Oh well....
The music of the moment is not very Sunday like..... it's the Doors 'In Concert' 2 Cd set that came out many moons ago...... I think it's a compilation of various live Lp's they had out, all edited onto the 2 discs. I've not played it in a long while, so it's been good to hear it again........
On the way to Church - B had Adele blasting out of the car...... it's great driving music, well - her second album is, at least.... I don't know the first one that well. It made a change from the usual stuff I put on, when we go out & about !!
Yesterday - I spent quite a bit of time sorting out Cd's - trying to tidy them away, mainly the Zeppelin collection...... which brings me around to today's concert. So from May 27th 1972 I've
picked this one... The tracks are:
CD 1
1) Immigrant Song
2) Heartbreaker
3) Black Dog
4) Since I've Been Loving You
5) Celebration Day
6) Stairway To Heaven
7) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
8) Dazed & Confused
CD 2
1) What Is & What Should Never Be
2) Moby Dick
3) Whole Lotta Love
4) Rock & Roll
5) Communication Breakdown
The concert was recorded in Amsterdam & it's been in our collection for a number of years. The copy I have is called 'Running Bear' - after the old single that came out, in either the 50's or 60's.... I don't know exactly when... but, during the 'Whole Lotta Love' rock & roll medley, the band do a little bit of it... hence the name of the Cd !! I don't usually bother with the bootleg's name, but I quite like
this one !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff !! More another time.....
There was a record fair, yesterday, in Taunton... but I couldn't make it..... I really wasn't feeling like making 2 trips to the place over the weekend, so.. I stayed at home !! There is one, in Exeter, at the end of June - so, I will go to that one instead. I know it's a lot further away - but, more of my friends will be there & I stand a better chance of getting something I want !!
Last night, we had our usual Eurovision party.... that is to say, we watch bits of it on TV & decided, from the start, that the UK doesn't have any chance of winning !! There was also an England football match on & we watched that instead !!
England did win - but, only 1-0.... but, it was quite apt really. They were playing Norway & Norway was the only country we beat in the song contest - well, I use the term 'song' very loosely - known as
Eurovision !! Once again - the powers that be - failed to get anywhere near what it's about !! The guy who sang 'our' tune did a great job - but, it wasn't even close to getting any votes !! Oh well.... maybe, just maybe, next year !!
Anyhoo.... I better be on my ways. we sometimes have a friend visit on Sunday afternoons, so I better get ready, just in case he pops in. I just saw B - she is well hot, out in the garden, so I will make a glass of something cold & take it out to her.... until next time, thank you for reading.....

Landover, Maryland & Russian Granny's
Greetings Worlds !!
How are you doing this fine, bright day.... ? It's a Friday here in England, the Sun is out, the clouds are white & all is well with the World - well, as far as I'm concerned at least !!
I mentioned, a day or two back, that our neighbour had come over to see us, all upset, as his wife was leaving him. Well, this morning, she came over to "give" us her side of events. Why ? I don't know !! Anyhoo - we've listened to her side of events & - altho' it's nothing to do with me - my sympathies are still with her husband !!
She has obviously thought this thru' - she has got a place to move into & also - which I thought a bit OTT, she has changed her e-mail address, back to her Maiden name !! You don't do things like that on the "spur of the moment".... which is the way her Husband seems to think she is doing !!
Oh well - nothing to do with me...... we can only be friends & do what ever we can for the both of them, at this, their time of need.......... Whatever happened to "till death us do part" ?!! Never mind ......
Ok - it's a Friday.... B has just gone into town, to get a few things & (I think) pop into the gym, for a class or a work-out....... ME is at a place, only a few miles away, doing a day of training & J is upstairs, having just come down for his lunch.... or as we like to put it, his "second breakfast" !!
A little 'tribute' there to 'The Lord Of The Rings'.... which, as I've never told you our Surname... well, you would get all the little jokes, if you knew !!
Talking of 'TLOTRs' - I picked up a copy of 'The Lord Of The Rings Symphony' from the town library yesterday morning. I'm playing it as I type & it's quite good. As best as I can see, it's a live concert, featuring a load of the music from the films. It's a little too "long" for me this morning, so.... the music will change soon !! I didn't know it existed & only saw it by chance...... I'll give it a good listen & see if I want to buy a copy - I need to check it out first !!
I've just changed it to some Led Zeppelin... so, no surprise there really !!
As mentioned - we went into town yesterday..... quite early really. I was due to have a visitor yesterday afternoon, but I had to go back to bed, so B cancelled his visit. Getting up early wasn't such a great idea as it seemed at the time !! Anyhoo - a couple of hours sleep worked well & I got up a little later & answered a couple of e-mails from friends.
I'm still getting over the 'bug' (or whatever it's called) from the other week.... so, I seem to be more & more knackered as each day goes along. Never mind - on the whole, life is good !!
We had one big bit of news yesterday.... ME passed part of her Uni degree, with a "First" !! "Yippppeeee" ..... we are so happy for her, she really worked hard to get this far !! She still has to wait for her "over-all" marks, but it does mean she will have her degree, with honours & that's brilliant !! Bless her heart !!
So congratulations to our 'little' girl.... she is only 4 feet 11 inches... so, little is the right word !! Brilliant !!
It's her boyfriends (M) 21st birthday on Monday.... so, he is coming around over the weekend & we're giving him a small party. They have been together 3 years now - when I first met him, he seem this shy little guy - now, he's 21 & has his own key to the door !! A great lad, he really is.....
Ok - the music of the moment is a 1972 Zeppelin concert.... which I might write about in a day or two..... but, from this day - May 25th... well, I'm spoilt for choice really !! There is one from 1977, which I'm keen on... so, the tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) The Rover - Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
6) No Quarter
CD 2
1) Ten Years Gone
2) The Battle Of Evermore
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman - Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
5) White Summer - Black Mountain Side
6) Kashmir
7) Out On The Tiles - Moby Dick
CD 3
1) Guitar Solo
2) Achilles Last Stand
3) Stairway To Heaven
4) Whole Lotta Love
5) Rock & Roll
This concert is from Landover, Maryland & was the first of 4 shows they did there about 6 days.... all of which - I'm happy to say - I have here in the collection. The one above, I've had for what seems years - so, it has a little place in my heart as being one of my earliest boot Cd's !! I never dreamed when I picked up my first Lp boot, in about 1971, that I would now have soooooooo many... complete madness on my part !!
The Earls Court show, from this day in 1975, was the last of their 5 nights there & the last concerts they played in England for over 4 years. As a little bit of trivia - to go along with it - it was the last time the band played 'Dazed In Confused'.... well, not counting the 2007 re-union concert, that is. Oh well....... As always - don't buy bootlegs !! By the official stuff - there is plenty of that to go around !!
......right- enough of music... for now at least..... !!
well, sort of.... If I'm well enough, they is a record fair on in Taunton tomorrow. It's a little awkward to get to... being above a pub, with no elevator, just a flight of stairs to get to the top !! We'll have to see how I am in the morning I guess. it would be good to go & meet up with a couple of my friends, but.. we will have to wait & see what tomorrow brings !!
We've just been enjoying the Russian entry to the "2012 Euro Vision" contest.... they were great fun, check out the video on U-tube.... it's a good laugh, it really is !!
Just back to the neighbour's break-up..... we're in a bit of a strange position. By both (Husband/Wife) of them telling us, that a no one else knows about it... and can we not say anything to anybody here in our little area. I guess - well.... I'm not going to lie, if asked directly... but, apart from that - I'm thinking - if we're asked, we "know nothing" !! Do any of you remember the episode of 'Fawlty Towers' ? If not - check it out.... "I know nothing" !!
When I logged in this morning, I saw my American & Russian readers had beat me to it !! I, again, thank you for your time. I'm not sure if I'll be writing over the weekend, so... if there is a gap, I'm sorry - but I will be back sometime !! It depends on how things go, I guess !!
Apart from hopefully making the trip tomorrow, we might be able to get to Church on Sunday... but, like everything else - I have to wait & see how things go. If it's a warm day, that helps - there is nothing worse than going out in the cold & rain !!
As for my plans today.... a quiet stay in the house & maybe a little bit of beauty sleep later. I still have a few Lp's to record for our friends.... but, I'm not sure if I'm going to do that today or not - I'll see how things go & what the plans are, when B gets home later !! I have such an exciting life - I don't know where I fit everything in.... not !! Until next time......
Bye Bye

Tyler Woolley & Our Neighbour P.
Well "Hi" everybody - how has your day gone ?!
My thoughts & prayers tonight, go to 2 people & their families.
First, to the family of Tyler Wooley, who - it seems - lost his life in the boating accident, in Oklahoma. I wrote a little about it yesterday (I think) and I've read a lot about him today...... at 19, it's such a pity he has lost his life.
Secondly - for our neighbour P..... he is one of the nicest people you could come across & today he was here, in the house with us, really upset. His wife of 5 years is leaving him, on Saturday. He is totally gutted by it !! He is not the NFH, but I thought he was coming to talk about them - but, he came over today, to tell us. We could tell things were not right...... so, he is in our thoughts & prayers.
Having been thru' a similar problem, myself (many moons ago)... well, I know what he is going thru' & we will help in anyway we can.... including looking after Murphy, their dog - who it seems might come out of all of this the worst !!
Anyways...... that has been my day - a bit of a bummer really, but not for reasons connected to us, just a feeling of "Why?" and everything that goes with it all !! So, our thoughts & prayers to all....
As for the family.... well, as I type ME is here beside me (watching TV) and eating chocolate...... she is going out to meet up with M (her boyfriend) in a little while J is upstairs, probably on his computer & My Wife & Dearest Friend, B has gone out to a gym class thingy. I'm not sure if it's a class, but she has gone out anyways, she says she needs to lose the weight, so...... it's up to her, as long as she is happy !!
I've spent quite a bit of the day recording Lp's for our friends, in Church. I e-mailed them, to ask which ones I had already given them & it turns out I had done more than I expected !! I only have 4 more to record !! That was a surprise, as I didn't realise I had done so many !! Oh well - I will try & do them by this weekend, in the hope we can go to Church on Sunday. If we do, I can give them the Cd's & Lp's while we're there !!
The music of the moment is 'Yessongs' by Yes...... their 1973 'live' album. when it came out - on 3 Lp's - I remember getting it & enjoying every second of it !! It still plays quite nicely, on the ears.... even tho' I now have it on Cd..... it's still a good listen !!
When it came out, there was a lot of comparison with the 'live' set ELP had released....... I think mainly as both were 3 Lp sets. I'm not sure which one I prefer - they both stand alone, on their own merits.... but..... for now, it's Yes that are winning !!
As for Led Zeppelin concerts, I only have the one & - in a way - I've covered that already, writing about the Earls Court concerts, the other night.... so, I won't bother giving a track listing - just read what I wrote then & go from there. It's all good & some of my favourite concerts are from the 5 nights they played, at Earls Court, in 1975. Oh well..... more another time !!
Ok - what's next.... well, I was expecting a phone call at 6pm. I mentioned the problems I had yesterday, from somebody telling me I owed them money & hadn't paid etc etc.... well, they were going to call me today, at 6pm, to go thru' it all again !! As they haven't called, I can only guess that they realise we were right, they were wrong & everything is Ok with their little World !! It's a shame they had to go & spoil my day yesterday.... everything was going so well, until they 'phoned !! Bu***r them all I say !! Onwards, ever onwards......
Oh yes - Earth shattering news... I had a new watch reach me today - only 5 months late !! B gave me a 'membership' to 'Time' magazine, at the end of last year - starting in January..... the cost was only £20 & it came with a free watch, so B went for it. Today, the watch reached me.... as I say, only 5 months late !! I've enjoyed the mag's... but, I won't be renewing them, it cost a lot more than £20 to keep the thing coming & that's money I'm not going to spend !! The watch is better than I expected tho'.... I thought it would be a cheap plastic thing, but... it's pretty good really - for a freebie, so I'm happy with it !!
I've also found a story about Gregg Allman... it seems he was on TV in America a little while ago (maybe today) & I must read up on that, when I get chance. As I wrote to Lady V ("HI") earlier, I hope his book sells well, he is such an interesting person & has had a very varied life, over his 60+ years !! Maybe I'll save my penny's & buy a copy when I see it in town, or where-ever.... tho' - "that does mean reading" !! Old family joke there folks - too old & long to go into tonight !!
Right, I better think about closing for tonight...... it's not late or anything, but - I need to get my beauty
sleep !! So for now, I will away - my thanks to all of you for reading.... until next time....
Bye Bye
Just One Thing...........
Hi Again Everybody...
How have your day been ? Mine was going quite well - until a little after 4pm. Then, a lady 'phoned, claiming I hadn't paid a bill on time.... bummer, or so I thought. Anyways - I thought about the problem & telephoned the automatic system, that tells you how much you owe & when your next payment is due.
Interestingly - that system told me that my next bill was due in June..... so, I tried to call the lady back. Some hope !! To start with, I got a very nice lady - who I'm guessing does not have English as a first language. I say this, not because I'm not a racist, but as I couldn't understand her & - quite bluntly - she couldn't understand me !!
If a company is going to use 'overseas' call rooms - they really need to up their game on who they employ !! Anyhoo - I gave up & called back & got a charming young man, who told me I owed them money. So - I mentioned, that according to their own automatic service, I didn't owe them anything !!
He then put me on hold - for what seemed like forever - and then told me (believe it or not) that their system was wrong & I did owe them some cash !! In the end I told him, politely - but firmly - that I wasn't going to make a payment today & not to call me again !! Honestly !!
How can I be wrong, when I'm just following their laid down instructions & paying my bills when they tell me to !! I was having a 'good' day - right up until that moment....... when, I was told I was wrong........ and so was their system !! Thanks for spoiling my day you idiots !! Onwards..... ever onwards !!
Ok - it's a Tuesday here in England..... the music of the moment is the Nightwish album 'From Wishes To Eternity - Live' which I think came out many many moon ago - I'm not sure of the exact date.... anyhoo - it's a good bit of madness & suits my mood this evening !!
My day is nothing really - 2 or 3 guys were involved in a boating accident in Oklahoma & the last I heard, one was still missing.... my day is nothing compared to the feelings those guys folks must be feeling !! It's all got to be put into context really !!
I've spent most of the day sat quiet...... recording the Lp's over to Cd's for our friends at Church. I've only got a few to do now - but, I need to find out which ones I've done, as I've got mixed up over the last few weeks & have forgotten which is what & so on....... I'll send them an e-mail & hopefully they can tell me the Cd's I've done for them !!
I don't know if anybody has been watching the Olympic torch relay, on the net today.... but... it's been in our little area, yesterday & last night..... going out of the area this afternoon. It was sort of fun, to see our fields going by - as the bus went from place to place. It didn't come thru' our little bit of the map - but, as I told 2 of my American friends - it's sort of where we live !!
My thanks to all of you who have logged in today........ I think, it's been the biggest 'log-in' day since I started posting, just over 2 years ago !! Either I'm writing something you guys want to read - or, you really need to get out more !! No really - I thank you for your time !!
I have another Led Zeppelin concert - again, from the 1977 American tour.... this time, a 3 Cd set from Fort Worth, Texas..... the tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
CD 2
1) No Quarter
2) Ten Years Gone
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman
5) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
6) White Summer - Black Mountain Side
7) Kashmir
CD 3
1) Moby Dick
2) Guitar Solo
3) Achilles Last Stand
4) Stairway To Heaven
5) Whole Lotta Love
6) It'll Be Me
The last track featured Mick Ralphs (I think that's how it's spelt) of Bad Co. in a little bit of a jam. I first had this concert on a single Lp (just the last part) and I was well glad when I got the 3 Cd set many moons ago !! The above is an audience recording - but is still worth a listen..... As always, don't buy bootlegs - get the official stuff !! More another time....... maybe from another year.....
Ok - my plans for tonight.... none at all !! It's still early, so... the night is young !!
I should tell you about the family - having mentioned the music !! B is out at Weight-Watchers & will be home in about an hour, I guess. I've not seen too much of her today - she has been out at the gym & in town. J is upstairs - I tried to get him to do something on this computer of mine, a little while ago..... it was like I was talking in tongues or something !! Ok - I'm "old".... but, I do not speak "computer-ese" !! Oh well..... ME is here beside me... she has been poorly today & has spent a lot of time in her bed. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow or the day after !!
So - that just leaves me & the 3 cats...... I've no idea where they are - but, I'm here typing these words to you & - for tonight - I will
away !!
I've still got a few things to do - like label up the Cd's I recorded earlier - so, for now I will away..... thank's again for reading folks.... until next time...

Greetings Worlds Of Internet Space !!
How are you all doing this fine morning ?! I'm not too bad here - I had a very restful weekend & that has paid off, as I feel a lot brighter in myself, than I did last week !! So - that's a bonus.... not feeling too much like c**p....... Thankfully, B also had a quiet couple of days, so she has had chance to unwind a bit - spending quite a bit of time, out in the garden planting up various things. She loves her garden - I just wish it was a little bigger for her !!
On Saturday, we went off into Taunton - well, the outskirts of the place - to one of the DIY & garden centres. B had about £75 to spend... so, she used it to buy plants & stuff. That might sound a bit of a waste - but, it was money we got back from our house & car insurance. The idea being, you get both policies from the same place & they 'give' you a £75 voucher, as a reward........ it was that which B used on the weekend.
I didn't do very much towards the trip - just went along for the ride really !! As you will know, I hate crowds & stuff - so, I just hung back & let B get on with it !! She knew - more or less - what she wanted, so, I let her get on with it !! As long as she is happy - I don't care !! She is my Wife & dearest friend... so, I'm just happy to see her happy really.
Talking of B - she has gone into town. To put some cash in the bank, go to the gym & then back to do a little bit of shopping - probably in ASDA. I hope I haven't made a mistake........ B asked if I wanted anything & I said "only some paper"..... but, I didn't want her to buy it today - I can get it any time really, but - it is the only thing I wanted. I'll see if she calls me later - I can then, maybe stop her buying the stuff !! I don't like calling her too often - especially if she is driving...... I don't want to put her off !!
The paper in question is some glossy stuff, that ASDA have on knock down. It works out at less than 6p a sheet & it's good quality stuff.... so, a bit of a bargain really !! I use it mostly for Cd's - the labels & what have you. White paper is Ok - but, the glossy stuff just give is a better finish !! Plus - the guys use it for photo's.... so, it's a bit of a bargain at the moment !!
Talking of the guys.... J is upstairs working on some computer stuff & ME is on Uni placement today.... she had a day off yesterday, which I'm glad of - as she did a 13 hour shift on Saturday !! Anyhoo - she spent the day with M (her boyfriend) and rested up a bit...... she does do a lot of driving each week + the hours as well, so she needed a break !!
So - that leaves me here.... the music of the moment is Gov't Mules' 'Deepest End' in concert..... well good. It's the soundtrack to the DVD, which I transferred over to Cd, for my own use !! So - please don't ask me for a copy - you ain't going to get one !! The same goes for my Led Zeppelin collection....
Talking of which.... on May 21st 1977, the band were in Houston, Texas..... I have a 3 Cd set of the show & the tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
6) No Quarter
CD 2
1) Ten Years Gone
2) The Battle Of Evermore
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman
5) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
6) White Summer - Black Mountain Side
7) Kashmir
CD 3
1) Moby Dick
2) Guitar Solo
3) Achilles Last Stand
4) Stairway To Heaven
5) Rock & Roll
6) Trampled Underfoot
This is a great concert & luckily, this is a soundboard recording of the show - capturing pretty much all of it !! I do like audience recordings - for the atmosphere - but, this one is well good !! As always - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff instead !! More another time.....
There is a record fair this weekend - in Taunton.... if I'll get to it, well, I don't know. I'll have to see how things go this week first !! I only saw the signs for it, on Saturday, when we went to get B's plants.
I took the Dr's advice & didn't go to the Stake Conference yesterday. We do try & go to the Sunday morning session.... but, my GP said I should rest & B thought the same - so... I decided not to argue !! It would of been nice to have gone - but, I have to consider things a bit more now, compared to a years or 2 back !! I'll probably get a few moans about it - when we go to Church next.... but.... !! We'll see how things go.......
Oh yes.... my thanks to my UK readers, for logging in today.... the last time I looked, you had read some 20 pages !! I thank you for your time & keep reading "I might write something worth reading one day" Ho-hum !! Onwards.....
The Olympic torch makes it way thru' out area today....... I won't be going to see it !! Wouldn't this be a great idea. The London Mayor, Boris..... goes out into the middle of the Olympic stadium, picks up a radio mic & says "It's open - lets get started". No big ceremony, no fuss.... no big waste of money - simplicity in itself !! I don't see that happening, do you ? Oh well.....
My plans for today.... I still have a box set of Lp's to record & will probably get on with that, when I close this..... It's a box of "elevator musac" but, I said I would do it - so I better keep to my word !!
Anyhoo - for now, I will away & get a glass of water, kick back & enjoy 8 Lp's of 'Soft Lights & Sweet Music'.... doesn't that sound like a lot of fun ?! Until next time....
Bye Bye

Led Zeppelin - Earls Court 1975.
Hello Again Worlds.... I'm back !!
It's going to be a quiet night, here in the 'homestead'.... not !! As I type, I'm sat here alone & the music of the moment is just turned down to deafening !! B has just gone down to the Dr's to pick up some more of my pills & potions..... from there, I think, she has gone into the gym, for another session of torture !!
I did say - as she had been working hard in the garden all afternoon - she should miss it tonight, but.... she wanted to go & I'm not going to stop her.
So - that's B... the guys are upstairs. I think ME is setting up to have along, deep bubble bath... so, I will see her in an hour or so, I guess !! No really - she wants a soak & that's all I can say about that
really !! J is upstairs as well - probably on his computer by now...... such is life !!
The main reason for posting again, tonight, is to cover Led Zeppelin's Earls Court concerts. They took place on the 17th/18th/23rd/24th & 25th of May in 1975.... 5 nights in front of about 85,000 people - one of who was me !! I went up on the 24th, with a guy I used to know way back then & who - like a lot of friends - I've lost contact with. Anyhoo...... I wrote about all of that, either last May, or the May before....
The concerts all featured the same basic set list:
1) Introduction
2) Rock & Roll
3) Sick Again
4) Over The Hills & Far Away
5) In My Time Of dying
6) The Song Remains The Same
7) The Rain Song
8) Kashmir
9) No Quarter
10) Tangerine
11) Going To California
12) That's The Way
13) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
14) Trampled Underfoot
15) Moby Dick
16) Dazed & Confused
17) Stairway To Heaven
18) Whole Lotta Love
19) Black Dog
To say there are bootlegs of these shows available... well, that would be an understatement, no matter how you described it !! There are sooooo many of them, it's really stupid !! I'm playing a copy of the show, from the 18th, as I type........ I had this particular concert (well, part of it) first on the Lp 'No Quarter' & then, as time went on, on Cd - it has come out several times...... under different names & what have you & in various lengths...... 1-2-3- & 4 Cd's .
There are 2 really well produced Lp's of the show, from the 24th.... the sound quality is not 100% - but, the cover design is well good. So good, in fact, that it was for sale in a record shop in Taunton.... mainly as the guy who owned it - for a short while - didn't know they were bootlegs !! I'm not sure how much these Lp's are fetching now - but, the last time I saw 'No Quarter', the guy wanted £150 for it !! As I've said before - don't buy bootlegs !! You can get some of the Earls Court show on the official DVD that came out a few years back.... so, buy that instead !!
The introductions to each show was done by a different DJ each night...... so, that's one way of telling which show you're listening too + altho' the tracks stayed more or less the same, for each show - the last night also featured 'Heartbreaker' and 'Communication Breakdown'..... so, that makes a bit of a difference, in a good sort of way.
I think a lot people say the show from May 24th was the best - but, it's the one that came out first - well, maybe not first.... but, it was the show that a lot of people heard first & so, a reputation for it being the best night kind of grew from that. I personally like the 24th - but, I can happily sit thru' any of the recordings & enjoy them..... they all have their own merits & good bits !!
There is no getting away from the fact - they were 5 of the best concerts the band ever played in the UK & the mythology surrounding them has grown (and grown) over the years. Worth a listen - but, again... don't buy bootlegs - buy the official stuff instead !!
There are several books available, which cover the bands concerts. Some are pretty crap... but, there are a few good ones. I would recommend 'The Concert File' by Simon Pallett & Dave Lewis for a starter.... plus any thing Luis Rey has written is always a good read - especially when it comes to the older Lp's that came out. There is also a good 'Collectors Guide' to Led Zeppelin's compact disc by Robert Godwin, which is a must for anybody looking for various Cd's & the shows they are from.......
The one thing I will say - in closing.... which I think I've written before.... just because somebody doesn't have a copy of show, it doesn't mean that show does not exist !! There are lots of tapes in the World, which have never made it to Cd's & what have you..... people aren't being tight, or mean, for not letting people have them, they just like listening to stuff & b****r what the rest of the World thinks !!
Ok - enough of Led Zeppelin for tonight......... and probably for a few days, unless I find another concert from another year !! But - for tonight, I'm away....... it's nearly 7pm & I need my beauty sleep, ho-hum !!
I will be back another time.... until then...
Bye Bye

Bye Bye

Well "Hello" Worlds.... !!
I hope you are all doing well today ?! It's a Friday here in England - overcast, but quite warm. As I type, My Wife & Dearest Friend, B is out doing the back lawn....... it's got too long to cut with the mower, so she bought a new strimmer bit & is attacking it with that !!
I just went out to see her & it's very wet (the grass) so.... it's taking a bit of time to hack thru' it !! We did have a lot of rain over the last few weeks.... so, it's not surprising really !! When she has finished, the mower will come out to pick up the grass & rubbish.
So - that's B & the garden.... J, our Son, is upstairs, having just got up an hour ago, & my Daughter, ME is up at Uni today. She goes up just once a week at the moment. She has done all her assignments & stuff, so it's just a "show your face" type of thing now. I'm not 100% sure when she will be home.... a bit later I guess.
So - that's the family..... leaving me here, with one of the cats - who, having written that, has just gone upstairs. Oh well, he does spend most of the day on our bed & - as he has been out all night - I guess that's where he has gone now !! It's a hard life....
The music of the moment is the Allman's live Cd 'Wipe The Windows, Check The Oil, Dollar Gas' - which I happen to really like, tho' I don't think it is universally !! I had the 2 Lp set & when I had chance to buy the Cd, well - I went for it !! The 'Elizabeth Reed' featured is one of my favourites, it really is. But, having said that - the newer ones, are just as good.... if not better !! I just have a spot for this version, in my memory banks !!
I've not written anything for a few days - sorry about that folks - but, I have been struggling this past week. Yesterday was probably the low point, I couldn't do diddly squat !! In the end - I sat down & recorded some more of our friends Lp's for them. It's not very hard, to just put a Cd in one machine, play the Lp & enter the tracks as they come along !! I still have one box set to record for them & a few single albums.... but, most of them are done now.
I had hoped to pass them on, to our friends, at Church on Sunday.... but, it's a Stake Conference this weekend & I'm not sure if they will be there - or for that matter, if I will be there either !! It's held in Bristol & B doesn't think I will be able to make the trip..... it's about 80 miles, there & back... so, not too far.... but we will see how I am, on Sunday.
I'm a little upset at the moment - one of my speakers keeps going dead !! Which probably means I have a dodgy connection in the back of the amp !! Bummer - that means a little bit of handy work - moving the whole unit(s) out & finding what is not in place !! It's my fault - I did a bit of cleaning yesterday & more than likely, dislodged one of the cables !! My bad - when it goes completely 'dead' I'll have a go at fixing it - for now, it's playing.... so I will leave it as it is !!
I had to see my local Dr this morning..... once again, I've had to go onto some more pills !! The thing I went to the hospital about last weekend, hasn't cleared up - in fact it's got worse - so, as my immune system can't cope with it, I have another set of things to take !! Over the weekend, the chemist is going to grow some cultures & we will see what the problem is, and how to treat it, from those. Great stuff........
.... in the meantime, I have to put up with the pain & feeling like s**t.... but, it's the way things are, so..... !! At least the morphine works !! Onwards, ever onwards !!
On the Zeppelin front - I have at least 3 concerts from May 18th !! One from Texas 1973, another from Earls Court in 1975 (which I will write about later) and the one I'm going for. It's a 3 Cd set, from Birmingham, Alabama USA and it's always been one of my favourites... the tracks are:
CD 1
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) Sick Again
3) Nobody's Fault But Mine
4) In My Time Of Dying
5) Since I've Been Loving You
6) No Quarter
CD 2
1) Ten Years Gone
2) The Battle Of evermore
3) Going To California
4) Black Country Woman
5) Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
6) White Summer/Black Mountain Side
7) Kashmir
8) Moby Dick
CD 3
1) Guitar Solo
2) Achilles Last Stand
3) Stairway To Heaven
4) Rock & Roll
I have 2 versions of this concert... one audience & - the better of the 2 - a great soundboard recording. The latter was given to me by a guitarist of note (I've mentioned before) who had it in his collection & thought/knew I would like it !! It's the standard 1977 set, but it - for me - is a great concert. As always, do not buy bootlegs... get the official stuff !! More another time.......
Ok - the plans for today.... well, as I feel like rubbish, I intend to sit back & probably record some more of the Lp's I have here. I'm not really sure on that - but, it's a plan & it's the only one I have at the moment, so..........
For now, I will away - I might be back later, I'll see how things go. My thanks to my English reader for logging in today...... until next time...

Simple Minds & I'm just me...
Well - Here I am once more......
Greetings Worlds, how are you all doing this fine day ?! It's been a very dry, sunny - but... windy day here in England. I've not been out all day, so I don't really know how warm it's been out there..... but, I'm quite happy to stay in the house !!
Earlier, a lady from Church came in for a little while, which was really nice, as we didn't get to see her on Sunday..... she left before we got there. Anyhoo - she stayed for a couple of hours & then went over to see someone else, here in the village. It's great to have someone visit, from time to time - especially when they don't expect anything in return.... that is, they take us as we are !! Oh well......
Right - as I type, J is behind me doing his dishes.... he made them dirty, so he can clean them !! No, really... B served up his supper & as he is here, he is clearing up, as he goes. ME is out with her boyfriend tonight & will be home later..... and B has gone out to 'Weight-Watchers', her Tuesday evening group. She was going to the gym, but.... never made it !!
So, that leaves me here typing these words..... for now, there isn't any music playing, as we've got 'Pointless' on the box. When that finishes, I will be blasting something out !! I' not sure quite what - but, I'm sure I'll find something !!
I've spent a great part of the day recording Lp's onto Cd - for another friend(s) at Church. The last "box set" I did... well, it was well scratched & hard work to transfer. Not only was it forever jamming, on tracks - but, it was also really dirty & kept bunging up the stylus !! The set I'm doing now, is much better..... I'm not convinced it's ever been played !! It's about 30 years old & doesn't have a mark on any of the
records !! That makes it much easier to transfer !! Plus - it fits really well onto the Cd's..... so, that is a bonus !! In a week, or 2, at this rate I will finish all of them.... but, I'll probably run out of blank Cd's !! Never mind - I'm sure I will work out some way of doing them !!
Right - 'Pointless' has just finished (as far as I'm concerned)..... so, it's music time !! I've just found a copy of Simple Minds 'Live' at Wembley.... which I think is probably the Nelson Mandela concert in 1988. I'm not sure exactly why I have a copy of this..... oh well, it's all music !!
I don't have any Led Zeppelin concerts from May 15th. - but, I found one from Houston, May 16th 1973. As I don't know if I'm going to do a posting tomorrow, I thought I would cover it now. It's on 3 Cd's & has the same tracks as most of the American 1973 concerts:
CD 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Celebration day
3) Black Dog
4) Over The Hills & Far Away
5) Misty Mountain Hop
6) Since I've Been Loving You
7) No Quarter
8) The Song Remains The Same
9) The Rain Song
CD 2
1) Dazed & Confused
2) Stairway To Heaven
3) Moby Dick
CD 3
1) Heartbreaker
2) Whole Lotta Love
3) Communication Breakdown
I have to be honest - I don't think I've ever played this concert !! I certainly don't remember it... but, with my brain & memory, that's not unusual !! Luis Rey claims that "No other concert from the 1973 American tour can be compared to the frenzy & nastiness of this one"....... I must try & give it a listen !! It sounds good to me !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs........ by the official stuff instead !! I must give the above a listen & see how good/bad it is... as I say, I don't remember it !! Oh well.....
I see that Francois Hollande has been sworn in as President of France today..... lets see how he gets on !! My "hello's" to my French reader & all the rest of you as well !! I thank you for your time today !!
I wrote about, the NFH & the planning application they had put in. Well, we had a letter come thru' the post... it seems they have changed the application a bit & altered the plans, for their extension. I'm still opposed to it - but, I don't think complaining did any good first time around, so I don't see wasting time moaning about it this time !!
I know one thing - I'm not wasting my time going down to the Parish meeting..... B & I did that last time & it was a joke !! This time, my other neighbours can go.... as we were the only ones to go last time, it's their turn this time around !! It's makes no difference - the planning will go thru' in some form or another !! It's the way of the World I'm sorry to say - they who shout the loudest get their way & the quiet ones just get walked over !! Ain't life great !! Oh well........
Ok - my plans fro tonight...... I didn't have a very good night, last night.... so, I need to get to bed a little earlier tonight & hopefully get a decent nights sleep !! I can only hope - but, it might work !! So - that's for tonight.... tomorrow, I think we are going into town again... I'm not really sure !!
J has to go in & usually B drives him in - so, I might go along for the ride. I'll see how things go.... it's only a small town, but sometimes it's worth it, just to look at the idiots walking around !! Well, they think I'm an idiot... so, I guess, I think the same about them !!
I kid you not - I've been called all sorts of names, while I've been trying to get around in my chair - but, to them I might be a pain, for getting in their way.... to me.... well, I'm just me !!
Until next time....

Iced Earth & The Dentist....
Well "Hello" !!
Wasn't that an exciting weekend ?! Well - I thought so, at least........ for me at least !!
There I was, minding my own business on Saturday afternoon - then about 6pm, I'm back in the hospital, being checked over by a very friendly Dr !! To explain....
I've not felt very good for a couple of weeks & on Saturday.... well, it got to the point where I couldn't take the 'pain' any more & B drove me into the hospital, to get me checked out. He - the Dr - thinks I've got some kind of 'bug' & he has put me on a course of pills. If it doesn't get better, I have to see my local guy & we will go from there...... great stuff !!
Anyhoo - after feeling like c**p all weekend, I'm back to fighting fitness (Ho-ho) now & here I am once more. I am going to see my Dr on Thursday... so, we can work out then what to do about it all !! As it was, I was just grateful, to not spend the night, back in hospital !! I'm much happier home here - even if I can't do very much....
Right - lets go back to Friday - we had a great visit from our friend. He didn't get here until 8pm... but, it was worth it, just to meet up & have a natter with each other. His eldest daughter is at Uni... about 1 year behind ME.... so, that's always a topic of conversation. She seems to be doing Ok - tho' staying away from home has not been easy for her.
Anyways.... he went home about 10 ish & we've arranged to meet up again, around at his place in a few weeks. So - that will give me something to work & look forward to !! It'll be good to go around their place for a while.
As mentioned, Saturday was a bit of a rush - my congratulations to Manchester City, by the way - but, as I say... I was glad to be home Saturday night !! Then, on Sunday - we went to Church.... for the first time, in quite a few weeks. It was a good service, with 6 little talks by some of the younger guys..... 2 of who, are going on Missions soon. One of them is going to Manchester & the other to Sierra Leone !! That will be a challenge for them - especially the latter !! Oh well.......
Talking - as I did - about B...... ME & her have gone out to the gym for a couple of hours. I'm not sure why - neither of them really wanted to go...... but, if they want to stay fit & keep the pounds off, they have to go & keep at it !! I'm sure by the time they get home, they will both regret going, but..... as long as they are happy, who am I to complain !!
Anyways... that leaves me here with J. He is upstairs at the moment, doing something or another on his computer, which means I have the living room to myself !! Great stuff - it means the music is turned just below deafening & I'm a happy puppy !!
The music of the moment is the 4 Cd soundtrack to the 'Woodstock' film. If you're reading this for the first time... a while back, I sat here & recorded the whole film soundtrack - from the DVD - onto 4 Cd's. I had wanted the music, from the film, ever since I first saw it & now I have. I know, I could listen to the soundtrack albums - all of which I have here - but, I wanted something more & these 4 Cd's are it !! It's all good.... and great to listen to as well !!
There is a new Led Zeppelin bootleg out & about..... from their March 20th 1975 Vancouver show. It's very expensive - or would be, if you bought it - but, I never advise anybody to buy bootlegs.... so, why waste your money !! It's a good show tho'... with a long 'Dazed & Confused' which is really good. I don't have the new recording as yet, but the old versions of the show are really good !! When I get the new one, I will let you know what it's like......
...... but, in the meantime. I have a concert from New Orleans on May 14th 1973, when Zeppelin were on their American tour. I've had several Cd's of this show for a long time - some of the earliest Zeppelin boot Cd's in my collection are from this show !! But, as often happens, new versions come out & it's one of those that I've taken the track listing from:
Cd 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Celebration Day
3) Black Dog
4) Over The Hills & Far Away
5) Misty Mountain Hop
6) Since I've Been Loving You
7) No Quarter
Cd 2
1) The Song Remains The Same
2) The Rain Song
3) Dazed & Confused
Cd 3
1) Stairway To Heaven
2) Moby Dick
3) Heartbreaker
4) Whole Lotta Love
5) Communication Breakdown
There are 2 recording of this show floating around..... the one above, is from a soundboard (recording) but there is also a very good audience recording as well. You can get both as a complete 6 Cd set - it cost a lot of money, but...... it's out there if you look for it !!
As always - don't buy bootlegs. In this case, there is a very good 1973 show available officially ('The Song Remains The Same') - so go & buy that instead !! More another time !!
Just staying with music - yesterday - B put a whole load of new Cd's on the 'iPod' that we have in the car. It's such a weird & wonderful collection now.... from AC/DC thru' J. Geils Band, Moley Hatchet, Jethro Tull & anything else you can imagine !! As B said - when I get fed up with that lot, she'll do me another set. I think that will take a while tho' !!
We went into town earlier - poor B had to have some work done at the dentist !! She was very brave tho' - she really hates going - and all was good in the end. we don't have to go back for another 6 months now - so, that's good. Brave as she might have been - she really hates going !! Oh well...... we did give Iced Earth a good blasting tho'.... it is one of the 'new' things on the 'iPod', so why not !!
Also, this afternoon - my old college tutor came around to see how I was doing. He came around last week & we were out - he was worried I was poorly, so he came back to check on me. That was nice of him !!
I see, also today, I have picked up a 'new' reader, here in England. "Greetings" to you & thank you - and everybody else - for logging in. It's always great to 'see' someone new !! Again, I thank you !!
Ok - my plans for tonight..... you've guessed it - none at all !! I'm going to play some more music, watch some TV & then - when B gets home, to help me - I'm off to bed !! I got up quite early, for me, today & now I'm feeling it......... oh well... I better away... until next time...
Bye Bye
A Quiet Day.....
Greetings Worlds !!
How are you all doing this fine day - is it as hot with you as it seems here !! Mind you - J & I have just moved the TV into a new position & that's taken it's toll on my 'old' body.....Hee-hee !!
No really, we had the chance of changing the table the TV sat on - so, for the last hour J & I have been trying to sort out the maze of cables, plugs & general debris that has collected behind the thing !! The 'new' table is a little smaller, but........ it seemed a shame not to use it, after J finished with it in his room. For one thing, it's a lot studier & that has to be a bonus !!
Ok - as I type, the music of the moment is Nazareth's 'Snaz' live Cd set.... which I picked up on our trip to Birmingham, last year. As I said at the time - I had the old Lp's of this... so, it was great to have it on Cd !! Even B enjoys there last album, we play it over & over in the car.... my thank's to Pete Agnew, of Nazareth, for helping me find the Cd - a nice one Pete !!
The family are all over the place today. As mentioned yesterday - B has gone up to visit her Aunt G & drop some flowers off at the cemetery, where her Mum is buried..... I thought it was their birthday today, but it's actually tomorrow. Never mind - B phoned a little while ago, to say she had got to G's.
ME is off, at the over side of the county, working today. She left home about 6.30am & made it in good time........ I'm not sure what time she will be home. I mentioned a while back - as she had been sick, she might of had to pay a 'fine', for not doing her shift. I thought that was a little over the top, especially as the fine was £50 !! Anyhoo.... she has not had to pay anything, as they took her at her word, that she was actually sick & not just trying to take a day off. I'm glad of that - if you can't have a sick, without being 'fined'.... well, that would stink !!
So, that's the ladies of the house..., J has gone back upstairs & in the window our oldest cat is trying to get my attention, so I will let him into the house - which I will do now !! Hopefully he will settle down !!
I've just spoken to B - G wasn't home & now she is at her dad's & he's out as well !! Anyhoo - she has had a look, for the Lp I wanted back & it's not there !! He has probably sold it.... he does that a lot !! Selling stuff on, which most of the time belongs to him...... but, just once in a while, he sells things that doesn't !!
He sold off a load of B's Mum's brass things - which actually should of been passed down the family !! Mum got it from her Mum & thus it was coming down to B.... well, it should of anyway !! Never mind...
Right, my plans today..... kick back & have another quiet one I guess !! I have a friend visiting today, well - tonight - so, I'm looking forward to that.... he won't be here until 7.30pm or so, but.... it will be nice to see him again.
In the meantime, I will be on my ways & watch TV for a while..... until next time..

"Hello" Worlds !!
Well "Hello" Worlds.... !!
I hope you're all doing well, this fine evening ? It's evening here in England - but to my USA reader, it's probably about lunch time & my Russian readers - well, I've no idea what time it is with you !! But I thank you all for logging in today !! Thank you for your time....
It's been a 'good' kind of day for me. I had to see one of my Consultants this morning & she is very happy with my progress !! She didn't really have an answer, as to why I've felt like c**p this past week.... but, that's not her department really... so, no problems there at least !!
I had hoped to come off some more of my pills & potions, but... well, she felt it best I stay as I am for anther month at least. it's a pity, but... they are the Dr's - so I will follow what they tell me. as best I can !! B went with me, as she always does, when I see one of my Dr's - if not, with my brain, I would forget what I'm
told !! Oh well.... B will let me know anything I've forgotten over the coming days..... life is good !!
Talking of B - she has gone out for her evening class, at the gym & will be home in a couple of hours (I guess)... so, that leaves me here with J, who is in his Hobbit hole of a room. ME is out with her boyfriend M & will be home much later. She has an early shift tomorrow, so I hope she will be home & get some
sleep !!
She has to drive across the County, to get where she is working in the morning..... so, I hope she will get some rest !! I don't feel so worried these days, since she got her new car !! There was always the chance her old car would pack up on her - this new one seems to be a lot better for her.... plus, of course, she likes driving it !!
The music of the moment is a concert by Yes.... from their 2001 Amsterdam 'orchestral' concert. The track I'm on at the moment is the 30 minute 'Ritual' - which has always been one of my favourites !! I also like their 'The Revealing Science Of God'.... it's another 20+ minute track & That's on next !! It's not from the same concert - but, what the heck - it's all music folks !!
B is not a great lover of Yes music.... that's not exactly true, she doesn't mind the music, she just doesn't like Jon Anderson's vocals !! Which is a shame really - for me, he almost makes the band !! It's a shame he & the band have fallen out.... again !! Never mind........ onwards !!
I was pleased that another part of B's birthday present came today... Season 12 of 'ER'...... she seems to be enjoying watching them thru'..... I'm just glad there are so many seasons - it gives me time, before October, to get all of them !! Plus - if I had bought a big box set, all of them in one go - she would of strung me up for spending so much in one go !! This way - they might cost me more, but.... I can spread the cost !! Ho-hum......
I'm a little spoilt for viewing at the moment. I'm watching all of the 'Babylon 5' DVD's + I'm part ways thru' 'The Pacific' TV mini series, which I have on DVD as well - M gave them to me back a while... so, I'm really TV overdosed at the moment !!
Never mind - 'The Pacific' is upstairs & I watch that, when I'm in bed (which I seemed to be a lot these days) & 'Babylon 5' I can watch, when B is busy doing something else, downstairs !! As I say - spoilt for choice at the moment !!
I remembered yesterday, that I still have a load of Lp's to record - for our friend in Church.... so, I sat down & worked my way thru' some more of them !! I've now done the biggest part of them, but still have quite a few to go..... unfortunately there is no 'quick' way of doing them !! If the Lp is an hour long, it takes an hour for me to record it !! oh well - I don't mind.... I like the guy & his wife, so it's all good !! It helps also, that I like some of the stuff I'm putting over to Cd for them.... that's a bonus really !!
J & I were talking earlier, about 'Fanfare For The Common Man' - by Aaron Copland. he didn't realise the original was so short !! Having heard me play the Emerson, Lake & Palmer version, over & over - he didn't realise it was only 2 minutes 47 seconds long...... well, the version I have is, anyway !!
I mention this in passing as I've given up on Yes & am now playing Copland's 'Appalachian Spring' - which I have loved for yeas & years, since I first heard of it at school !! It's a great piece of music...... & tomorrow, if I'm lucky, B will bring home a Lp I have of it, from her Dad's. He has had it on 'loan' for far too many years & I think it's time to get it back - if he still has it !! He does have a tendency to sell things..... hopefully, he hasn't sold the album !!
The reason I might get it back tomorrow, is because B is going up to see her Aunt & put some flowers on her Mum's grave. It's their birthday tomorrow & B wants to make the trip up, to say hello to G !! As you can guess - B's Mum & Aunt are twins........ so.... B is making the trip. Hopefully, she will pop in & see her Dad as well & pick up the Lp on her way !! I hope he still has it....... !! I will let you know !!
Right - my plans for tonight are to kick back & listen to some more music........ sounds like a plan to me. I still don't have any Zeppelin concerts for today - but, there are some more soon !! Especially from the Earls Court concerts, in 1975..... that's for another day
tho' !!
For now - I will away.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Nine Inch Nails & The Queen..... Ho-hum !!
Hi Worlds - How is your space doing today ?
It's a wet & cold day here in England.... I've not been out all week, so I do not expect to anywhere today !!
For some stupid reason - my health has gone down hill over the last week or so & it's not fun any more !! I'm getting really fed up with myself... not being able to do things & what have you !! Oh well, no big deal... I'll keep flapping my arms & thinking "good" thoughts !! If nothing else, I can go back to my bed, have a sleep & dream of better days....H-hum.......
At the moment, I'm sat here alone..... I've not even got any of the cats to keep me company !! J is upstairs, if I need anything, but I should be Ok - as for the ladies of the house, they have gone shopping in Bristol !! They left home about 30 minutes ago, so they should be almost there........ depending on how fast ME is driving !!
It was ME's idea to go today - I don't think B was bothered, one way or the other !! Anyhoo - ME wants to buy a dress for her "Graduation Ball".... which I think is only a couple of months away. She has bought 2 tickets, for her & M - so, she is really looking forward to going !! The tickets were £35 each, which I thought was a bit steep.... but, I'm told that includes a big meal as well.... so, I guess, that's not so bad !!
At the moment, she is all worked out - having done her last Uni work, pretty much every day for the last 3 years, she doesn't know what to do with herself !! I think she will get her final results soon - so, here's hoping they will be as good as she deserves !! She has worked hard to get to this point in her life, I hope she does well !!
Anyway - I'm here alone, typing this words & playing Nine Inch Nails as the music of the moment !! It's their 'live' Cd 'And All That Could Have Been' and I'm playing it - well, mainly as I wanted something loud, to blast the cob-webs out of my skull !! No really, feeling like s**t, I needed something loud to keep me going this morning !!
Yesterday, all I played was Led Zeppelin & I needed a change today !! Which, I guess, you might understand ?! Even tho' I really like Zeppelin, I needed to change the mood a bit today !!
Talking of Zeppelin - I'm in a bit of a void at the moment, with their concerts...... I know that they played a concert, on May 9th 1969 in Edmonton, Canada.... but, I don't have any tapes of the show.... which is kind of "sad" for me, but.... I do have some coming up, so I'll write about them, as & when I get to them !! Some of the 1973 shows, are amongst some of their most famous bootlegs.... but, that's later in the month !!
I did spend a bit of time, sorting thru' the bootleg list yesterday..... but, I need to come up with a better plan. At the moment, it's all a bit hit & miss !! I will have to make some space & put the ones I've listed to one side.... or else I will be picking thru' the collection at random !! I need to get it sorted tho' - everything is in a blooming mess at the moment, Cd's here, there & everywhere !! Oh well....
I see my American reader was logged in a few minutes ago... "Hi"... I hope you are well & smiling happily at my inane muses !! No, really.... "Hi there"..... I thank you & all of my readers for your time. I'm not sure how many readers I have at the moment - it went thru' the 2000 mark a few weeks or so back... which is kind of weird, when you consider I don't know hardly any of you !! I really am pleased so many of you take the time to log in.... especially as I didn't expect this amount of "readership" when I started, just over 2 years ago - I was over the moon, when I found my first reader had logged in - now... "Wow"... 2000 & counting.... I really do thank you all !!
As I type, the TV is on quiet in the corner of the room...... it's our State Opening' of Parliament today & The Queen has just reached the entrance, in her coach. Well, I think she has - they are showing pictures of the 1937 Crown that she is going to use to day. It's a replica of the one Queen Victoria used - but, this one was made in 1937 - I'm guessing for the Coronation of the Queen's Father ? I'm not really sure.... There is a lot of ceremony attached to all of the 'opening'..... if you don't know what I'm talking about - well, look it up some place.
It's a special year for our Queen...... it's the "Diamond Jubilee"... meaning she has been on the throne for 60 years. With the Olympics (which I'm already fed up hearing about) & the jubilee - well, it's a big year, here in the UK !!
Today, I'm expecting a man to come & service some of my aids. That's the stuff I need to help me here in the house. Outside - I have my wheelchair, but I also have odds & ends here in the home, to help me from day to day. I'm not sure when he will get here - but, as I'm not going out anywhere, he has all day to make an appearance !! It might be the same guy who serviced my chair, a few weeks back - I'm not sure.... time will tell !!
Oh yes, yesterday, B went into town & picked me up a book from the library. It "means reading" - but, it's the 'The Three Cities Of Bells - Oxford - Wells - Ely' by Elizabeth Goudge. Who, what, where.... you might ask, so I will try & explain.
When I was a lad (Ha-Ha) & at school, we had to read 'The Deans Watch' as part of our English class. As it was, I never actually finished the book - I don't know why, but it fell out of the teachings at some point. Anyhoo - I wanted to know what I missed, so B got me this book - which has 'The Deans Watch' as the 3rd part of the trilogy. The book was published in 1960 - which in itself, is a bit strange, as the 1st 2 parts of the trilogy were published in the 1930's !! I guess EG wanted to do another story & so here it is.
I love these old books from the library - they have a certain feels about them..... I also like to know/see when they were last taken off the shelves. This one hasn't been 'out' for over 2 years.... so, somebody must of wanted it back then !!
The Queen has just reached Parliament..... she looks good in her finery !! They have just raised the Royal Flag, over the building, to signify she is in attendance. It's all very ceremonial !!
The Nine Inch Nails Cd has just come to an end....... it's now time for some Mike Oldfield !! Not much of a change of pace there folks !! It's the 'live' version of 'Tubular Bells 3' - which I've had for a very long time now !!
When I was in hospital in 2002, I used to play this Cd last thing at night...... to fall asleep to. I had a Cd player & I would put this in & just "nod off" while it was playing !! It kind of has a special place in my memory for that reason !! I was in the hospital for just under 3 weeks at that time, so I got pretty used to hearing this, over & over !!
Right, my plans for today...... well, yesterday, I started watching the old 'Babylon 5' DVDs....Season 1. So, today - I will just watch some more of those. It's been a few years, since I watched them, so I'm catching up a bit !! Apart from that & the guy coming to do the servicing.... it's going to be a quiet day.. again !!
So, once again, I thank you for your time & for reading my words.... until next time...
Bye Bye

Live On Blueberry Hill, President Hollande & Mr Putin......
Greetings....
It's a cool & cloudy English evening & I'm sat here blasting a Led Zeppelin thru' the speakers.... the ladies of the house have just gone over to Taunton & so - while they are out - I'm giving the amp a bit of room to warm up !!
I've not been felling too special today & have spent most of it, so far, just watching TV.... but, for now - it's music time folks !!
ME was due to go into work today - but, in the night, she was taken ill & so called in sick........ she has been looking a little under the weather all day really !! Now, of course, she is worried !! She has just started this job a week or 2 back & this is the first time she has had a sick day. It seems - for some reason - if they don't go into work - (as she works for a nursing agency) - well, somewhere along the road, they dock their wages... like a little 'fine' for not going in. I can see the logic of the system - they don't want people throwing sick days & to help, they 'fine' the staff........ I hope, however, as ME phoned her boss & explained the situation - well, we will see how it goes I guess !!
I think it will be Ok - but, ME is just a little worried about it..... I can see why..... Onwards !!
Never mind - as I say... the ladies of the house are out. So that leaves J, who is upstairs, and my good self 'home alone'. I think it was a last minute decision, to go out.... but.... I'm happy playing my music, so all is good with the World.
I suppose the big news of the day is change of power, in France !! How that will alter things for us in England, I don't know - but... it has to be a wake up call to all our politicians, who probably think their jobs are safe !! How President Hollande will do things will be interesting.... but, as the phrase goes "you're only as good as your last record" - so in a few years, he might be out of a job as well !!
I see also, that Putin is back in the driving seat, in Russia.... like that was ever in doubt ?! Don't buy a used car from that man.... well, I wouldn't anyway !! A big "Hello" to my Russian readers... and my friends in America.... who have logged in today.... thank you for your time !! It's good to know you're there !!
I'm still not 100% happy with the way Google have changed the whole blog page thing..... being an old "Luddite" - well, it takes me a while to understand things !! I'm getting used to it, but why they had to change things, I don't know !!
I don't have any Led Zeppelin concerts from May 7th.... but - I do have some for later... so, I'll write about them, as & when I get to them !! The music of the moment is another concert by them - the 'Live On Blueberry Hill' bootleg. It's well good to listen to it again - it's been a few years since I last played it !! I'll write more about it, in early September.....
Last night, I watched the first 2 parts of 'The Pacific'.... it's a mini series that came out a year or 2 back. M (ME's boyfriend) gave it to me & it's taken me a while to actually sit down & take the time to look at it !! I will hold my views about it to myself, until I've watched some more at least !! So far, it seems quite good - but, I've still got a long ways to go....... I'll watch some more tonight (maybe) & see how it goes !!
So - that's one thing I've got a plan for..... apart from that, it's going to be a quiet time in the homestead !! I've got a lot of things, in my mind, that I want to do - but, feeling like c**p, well, it takes all the life of it for me, at the moment !! B is keen to get me back down to the Dr's - to try & get to the bottom of why I'm poorly.... me, I just want to stay warm & quiet !!
So - I'll turn the music up a bit & enjoy the rest of the evening.... thanks for reading - until next time...

Def Leppard & A Hedge Cutting !!
Well "Hello" Again Worlds !!
I hope you are all well & happy ?! It's a Sunday morning in England & I'm sat here alone. B & J are outside doing the lawns & the big hedge, at the front. B wasn't thinking about doing it - but, as it's dry outside - she thought she would give it a go !!
So - being a Sunday, why aren't we at Church... simple really, I've had a not so good few days & spent most of last night awake, so... I decided we could do without a trip to Taunton, especially as I feel well poorly !! The Lord is here in our hearts - so, He knows we love him !!
For a change today - I'm playing a bunch of classical Cd's...... I was looking for something to put thru' the speakers & found 3 sets of classics - they are now in the machine on shuffle & sound quite good for a change. I don't really know why I bothered with shuffle - I couldn't tell you what the next track is anyhoo !! Oh well...
I've just put my head out of the door & there is a digger thing, in the garden of the NFH.... seems to be doing some ground works of some sort. You always know when work is going on over there - the NFH goes out !! It seems like, rather than put up with the noise & stuff, she goes 'away' and comes back when it's all done !! I guess she doesn't like the noise that we all have to put up with !!
I've just change the Cd's - I couldn't put up with that today !! So.... I'm now playing an old concert by some of the guys who, at one time or another, were in Yes. It was recorded at one of my favourite venues... the NEC, just outside of Birmingham. Not only is it easy to get to, but on most nights I've been there, the sound quality is spot on !! Mind you - I've not seen anybody there for a goodly number of years now !! I think the last time I went, it was to see Def Leppard & they really were bad !!
Interestingly - the night we saw them, the sound was so loud, it was distorted. A while later, I spoke to a good friend, who had seen them the night before, at the same place.... on that night, the sound was so quiet, people were complaining !! There had to be a balance there some place - they just didn't find it !!
I don't have any Zeppelin concerts from May 6th - so, I'll skip that today. There are more - just not today.
Oh well - the plans for today are simple.... I've got to kick back & rest up a bit !! I need to get whatever is playing me up, out of my system !! I know I can go down & see my Dr, here in the village - but, I don't want to bother him - especially if I can sort it out myself !! A few days keeping warm will be be good, I'm sure........ I've not got much on this week - so... it's going to be a quiet one !!
Anyhoo - my thanks to you all who have logged in today..... I thank you for your time. Until next time...

Linkin' Park, Liverpool, Chelsea, Boris & Ken.. Ho-hum !!
Well"Hello" Everybody.....
You know, there are certain things I will probably always remember.... I expect I'm not alone in that. Something happens & from time to time, you are reminded of it. To explain - I'm listening to Linkin' Park's 'Live In Texas' Cd, as I type, - I remember, quite a few years back... playing this same Cd & ME "flying" down the stairs to ask who it was !!
It was probably the first time she had ever heard LP & I think she was not only surprised by good it was - but, she also couldn't get over the fact that her old Dad could have such a good Cd in his collection !! Mind you - now, a few years on - she has got quite used to what I play !! Ain't life grand ?
Well - it's a Saturday, here in England.... it's not been a good day !! I had really hoped to be well enough to go down to the Exeter record fair... but, as yesterday went on, I got worse & worse (health wise) and that meant today I couldn't go - I wasn't able to make the trip. Never mind - B would of taken me, had all gone well..... so I can work on getting to the next one.... at the end of June !! Ho-hum...... as it was - I didn't manage to get out of bed until about 1 or 2pm......... such a lazy so & so I am !!
Anyhoo - being a Saturday, B has just gone into town to do a bit of shopping. We would of gone earlier, but...... as it was, B & ME went down to the village May Fair. It doesn't appeal to me that much anyways, so I didn't miss anything, as far as I was concerned. I could hear a marching band going up & down the main street, which - when all I wanted to do was sleep - was a pain !! Oh well - at least it stayed dry !!
I can look right out across to the beach today & that's been covered in cloud & mist for most of the last week !! I think the tide must be out at the moment - the water isn't looking too bright.... which it does (from here) when the tide is in !! I can't imagine there are too many people down there today.... too cold !!
Tho' - it is a holiday weekend...... a 3 day break for May Day. The roads have been getting a little more hectic, as people head down this way, for a short break. We live here & love getting away from the place - why people want to head this way is beyond most of the locals !! It was a bit mad - on the roads yesterday.....
.... I had to go into the hospital. As mentioned on Thursday, I had to go & see the Consultant about going 'blind' (I don't know what else to call it) in my right eye. I have to go back in 6 months, to see how things have gone........ in the meantime, I have to keep putting drops in 4 times a day & some lotion, type stuff, in just before bed time. Great stuff !!
He - the Consultant - says my eyes are in good condition.... and there is little he can do, except give me the drops & lotion, mentioned above. He feels it's all connected with my health problems anyways. Which is kind of weird.... but, understandable, when put into context. Never mind - he says he can operate, on the eye..... but, it isn't worth doing until I'm completely blind (in that eye).... which kind of sucks !! It's just one more thing to add to the list of things that can go wrong & have gone wrong with this old body of mine !!
Today is 'FA Cup Final' day here in England.... Liverpool & Chelsea are at Wembley Stadium to fight for the honours !! I am not a big football fan - but, I do watch the 'final' when I get chance. This year, M's (ME's boyfriend) team are playing, so.... I hope they win !! Mind you - if Chelsea win, I can always rub it in a bit, when he's next here !! We will see how things go - it starts at 5.15pm..... time will tell, I guess !!
Talking of ME - she is working today, in town as it turns out - so, she had chance of an extra sleep this morning..... which she needed !! J is here some place, upstairs on his computer I guess. Having been in bed for most of the day, I've not seen too much of him. Oh well - with B out.... that leaves me here in the living room, all on my ownsome !! With Linkin' Park to keep me company !!
I have another Led Zeppelin concert.... recorded on May 5th 1973, very near the start of the American tour that year. The tacks are:
CD 1
1) Rock & Roll
2) Celebration Day
3) Black dog
4) Over The Hills & Far Away
5) Misty Mountain Hop
6) Since I've Been Loving You
7) No Quarter
8) The Song remains The Same
9) The Rain Song
CD 2
1) Dazed & Confused
2) Stairway To Heaven
3) Moby Dick
4) Whole Lotta Love
5) The Ocean
6) Communication Breakdown
If any of you were at the Zeppelin re-union concert, in 2007... well, they played a news report, about this concert, at the start of the show. I mentioned how the band broke the audience attendance record - at their 1977 Pontiac show. Well, this concert - 2 years earlier - broke the then attendance record, by getting some 56,800 people thru' the doors !! It's a good show... but, as always - don't buy bootlegs !! More another time...... onwards !!
Anyhoo, it's just coming up on 5pm - so, I best think about being on my way for today. I have nothing special to do tonight, but - I need my beauty sleep.... and to watch the football on TV... so I will away for today. Linkin' Park are still going strong in the background & Boris beat Ken in the London Mayor election..... life is good. Until next time... thanks for reading !!
Bye Bye

Bye Bye
