Another week end & a little too much pain..

Greetings World's !!

It's another Friday - here in the wilds of England... down in the South-West tip, incase you're wondering !! B took me done, to the local Dr's surgery - about an hour ago - and, altho' it's not too cold... it's not that warm either !! Nevermind... more on that, in a short while...

As I say, it's a Friday.... the end of another week - well, it feels like that, at least !! B & I are the only ones home, at the moment.... ME is at work & J - as you might have read before - is over in Wales, at Uni.... It's been a quiet day... so far, with very little happening !!

I did - at last - get the 'Apocalypse Now' 2 Cd set, in the post........ I've played a good part of it & it's a little disappointing really !!

To try & explain.... The original Cd that came, was purely the music soundtrack (or the biggest part of it) to the film & - I hoped - the 2 Cd version would be an expanded version of that. But - it's that "but" word again - this 2 Cd set has a shed load of talking in it - which kind of blots out the music !!

If you've read my words before - you will know, that I did a 4 Cd version of the film's soundtrack - for my own use - and..... well, that has the spoken words & music on it - so, I didn't really want this 2 Cd set !!

It's Ok tho' - I'm quite happy to have the Cd's - it all adds to the collection !! I've just e-mailed the company back... to ask if they still have the single Cd, which I mailed back to them. If they have - I will buy it & add that one to the collection as well !! I may as well have both versions of the soundtracks !!

Of course - I could have made a copy, of the single Cd.... and saved myself some money - but, I would much rather have the official Cd's - instead of any copy, that I could make for myself - so, I'll see if they have it & if so, I'll buy it over !! Least ways, I'll get the soundtrack "music" separate to the talking !! Oh well...... it's all good fun !!

Anyhoo - the music of the moment is the above mentioned 2 Cd set, it's quite long, so it will take me a while to get thru' the thing !!

I'm really on an 'Apocalypse Now' kick, at the moment. As well as all of the Cd's.... I had the 4 disc DVD set, reach me yesterday (I think ?) - as yet, I've not had too many spare moments, to give it a
good look !! I will tho' - at some point !!

It's been a busy - kind of painful week, really - so, I'm a little behind with everything at the moment !! To explain & to fill in, what has been happening since Tuesday, when (I think) I last posted anything.

As mentioned before - I had to go back down, to Exeter, to have my 7 day follow up appointment, at the hospital - to check on how my skin graft had taken & everything. Well.... B drove me down & - to be honest - I'm a little disappointed about it really !!

As usual, B took a picture, of the wound... so I could see for myself, how things were going. Because of where the wound site, actually is, I can not see it for myself - my head just won't turn that far around !! Unfortunately, from what I could see of the it all, the wound looks a mess !! The skin graft might have taken - but, to me, it looks like it's just hanging off... it really does !!

The one thing I could have done with-out.... and that was the bloody pain, that went along with removing the dressings !! It's been a few months since I've felt as much as that !! Oh well - the dressings were done & with-in the hour, we were on our ways home...... It wasn't a lot of fun - but, it had to be done, so.... that's all there was to it
really !!

I was surprised by how bad it looked - I don't know quite what I was expecting - but, it wasn't what I saw & that's a fact !! Never mind...... I was just glad to be in & out, of the hospital, as quick as we were. There was a sign up, on the notice board, saying the "clinic" was running 90 minutes late !! I was really pleased.... well, more than pleased... when i was called in, almost on time !!

A few people, in the waiting room, seemed a little pissed off, I'm guessing because we came after them & went in before them.... the usual moans & groans !! But - I think we were in a different queue than they were.... hence I was seen earlier than them !! Oh well.... again !!

Back to this morning - and my trip to the local Dr's surgery... it was time to get my dressings changed again !! I could do with-out the pain... but, I have to have them changed, every other day - so, there is very little I can do about it !!

The nurse, herself, couldn't quite see much of an improvement.... but.... that's life, I guess !! Life goes on...

Ok - my plans for today... well, I don't really have any !! I'm going to listen to some more music & probably watch a little TV - but, that's about it really...... I'm not 100% sure if we are going shopping today, or not.... I'll see what B says later.

Hopefully the weather will dry up a bit, over the weekend & we can get out & have a bit of a look around. I know B wants to do some shopping for Christmas... so, I want to make sure it's dry, when we go & do that !! It's not a lot of fun, sitting in my chair - with the rain coming down !! I don't get too wet - but, it's not a lot of fun !!

Oh - we had a surprise Christmas card this morning...... from my Brother. He lives in Leeds (I think - that's where he used to live anyways) and, to be honest.... we are not close at all. I've got a little too fed up of being told to f**K off sooooo many times !!

But - we had a card from him...... and it was signed from him & a female, who's name I don't honestly know !! His Wife died a few years back... so, if he has a new partner - well, I'm a little surprised, to say the least !! It might not be that... and I'm probably wrong, but - it was a surprise !! Not just getting a card - but, who is this female ?! I must admit - I am a little curious !! I will no doubt let you know more - if ever I find out !!

For now tho' - I really must be on my ways...... I'm getting too many aches & pains, to sit here at the computer much longer, poor old bugger  !! As always - I thank you for logging in & reading my words... until next time..
