Well - "Greetings" Worlds !!

I'm back for Pt. 2 of today's posts....... and, to be honest, I've no idea what I'm going to write about !! No matter - I'm sure something will come to mind - even if it's more rubbish to add to my ever growing pile !!

It's a little after 5.30 - here in a wet & windy England. The ladies of the house have just gone out, again, to go late night Christmas shopping in Taunton....... you can check it out, by logging onto anything with Taunton in the address & subtracting any location, outside of England !!

ME did ask if I wanted to go - but, to be honest... I'm not in the Christmas mood. It's been a pretty crap kind of year & it's going to take a bit of effort (on my part - and others) to get me overly excited this year !! Nevermind.... it'll going to all come together, in about a week - so, I'll see how things go.

I mentioned, earlier, about wanting to go into town, while B went out to her meal thingy... well, as it turns out, the meal was way out of town - so, I would of been waiting quite a while for her to return !! So - in the end, I'm glad I didn't go with her.... well, as far as town at least !!

Given the weather, at the moment - I would of been soaked thru'.... so, I'm glad I didn't go !! That's part of the reason that I didn't want to go tonight... it's really wet & horrid outside !! I would of been wet thru'.... !!

So - as |I'm "home alone" again... I'm going to have a quiet night & sort myself out.... ready to get an early night. I'm always tired, at the moment... really nasty tired !! No matter what I do, I run out of
steam !! Oh well... it will pass...... well, it better - as I said above.... it's been a crap kind of year, I don't want 2014 to be anything like the last 12 months !! Oh well......

I meant to have said earlier... but, yesterday, I had a great visit from an old college tutor of mine. He often pops in, to see how I'm doing - so, to see him again was pretty good really.

I've not had chance, to speak with him, since before all the hospital - & other stuff - happened. I showed him the "nasty" picture, that I have of my back.... he couldn't believe it !! Mind you - nearly everyone who sees it, finds it hard to grasp exactly how bad it was !! Oh well - we had a great talk together & - fo once - he didn't try to convert me to being a Jehovah's Witness !! He is very devout - but, yesterday... well, it was just two "friends" having a talk !! It was pretty good really.....

In the New Year, hopefully, I'm getting hooked up with a Social Worker of my very own - "Wow" !! No really... I have no one, outside of the family, who I can go to - in times of really bad "need" & so, I looked into who I could have, on my side of the fence.... and, today, a guy 'phoned up, to arrange a meeting on January 6th. I'm not really sure what he can do for me - beyond what is being done already - but, you never know.... he might be able to help me & some ways or another !! Time will tell, on that subject - but...... as I say, time will tell !!

The music of the moment - well, it's a 2 Cd set, that I recorded myself.... many Moons ago, from the radio, onto cassette - then, when I got my first Cd recorder, onto Cd. It's 1978 concert, by Yes... recorded at the Wembley Arena & - much to my amazement - it still plays & is very listenable !!

As for the actual tracks - I have no idea !! It's one of those recordings, that I've had for sooooo long, but I've never done the track listing for it !! The track of the moment is 'Perpetual Change'..... but, as for the rest of it - I really have no clue !! I must get around to listing it, at some point.... but, not tonight !!

Oh, something else.... that happened today..... As many of you will know - I have a sad habit of transferring films, over to Cd. Just to listen to - it's something that has helped me no end, especially when I've been stuck in hospital for weeks on end ! My most recent "effort" has been the whole of the 'Apocalypse Now - Redux' soundtrack.... which fitted really well, onto 4 Cd's....

Anyhoo - as I say, I've been doing this for years.... and, on TV today, was the thing that kicked it all off !! To explain...

Back when I first started work... the Son (of the people I worked for) suggested it would be interesting to record a TV show - just to listen to, as a kind of experiment really. Well - that first "experiment" was an episode of 'Star Trek' and that very episode was on TV this morning !! I don't know what it's called exactly - but, it's the same one.... that, really & truly, kicked the whole recording thingy off !!

I don't know really why it sort of stuck with me - but, I really do enjoy listening to some of them back... as I say, when I'm in hospital & what have you.

One of my favourites of all time, has to be the complete soundtrack, to a film starring Johnny Depp, called 'Dead Man' !! It's brilliant - especially with Neil Young's guitar work - it's fantastic to listen to, thru' the headphones !!

Before any of you tell me off, for 'bootlegging' or 'pirating' the films..... they are for my entertainment only + - and it's a big plus - whenever possible, I buy the official stuff, that goes along with the films !! So - I have the official s/t to 'Dead Man' + the DVD and what have you... As B will testify - I also have the official Cd's to 'Apocalypse Now' as well...... and the various DVD's etc etc !!

Oh well - it all helps pass the time... and keeps me off the streets !!

Right - my plans for tonight... Well, apart from playing music, I'm going to get myself a hot bath, sort myself out for bed & that's about it really !!

Since having the dressings removed, from where the skin graft was taken - well, it means I can have the water a bit deeper than before.... all very interesting, I'm sure you're thinking.... but, believe me - it feels sooooo good, to have a "deep" bath, after weeks of "shallow" ones !! Hopefully things will heal up a bit now..... but, for me, the "jury" is out on that one !!
