Clifford T Ward - More "Home Thoughts..."

Hi Everybody !!

It's a very warm, early Friday - here in England's South-West corner........ I've just come back, from the surgery & now I'm home alone, as B has taken a neighbour into Taunton, to attend a MRI appointment. I'm all for helping people out - when they're stuck - but.... the lady has relatives, quite close..... why, I ask, can they not do the to-ing & fro-ing ?! Oh well.....

The surgery appointment - well.... if you heard the screams, it was me having my dressings changed again !! Thankfully, it's the end of the week & that's all 3 visits taken care of !! Today's nurse is my favourite - bless her.... she has gradually got used to my sense of humour !!

Oops !!

I forgot to say a "sorry" for not writing since last Saturday...... apart from the usual feeling like crap, it's been a busy - very busy - week. It was my annual birthday bash !! Yep - another year, another get together with those I love the most..... plus, I get to risk eating all kinds of junk !!

The M & M's came over... and brought cake - sooooo, that was really great - lot's of chocolate and feelings of I'm really going to regret eating this !! It was nice tho' !! There were lot's of pressy's and - much to my surprise, a card from our Son, the elusive J ......... the first time I've personally had a greeting from him, since 2012 !!

Unfortunately, J went & really did his usual crap..... to explain....

As it made my day, to have a card from him, I asked B to text him, to tell him so. Anyhoo - he came back with something about me being sarcastic - which I wasn't..... then, after B got back to him.... he came out with ".......only trying to keep the piece" !! Thank's Son..... if that's the only reason to send your old man a birthday card - well, save your cash next time !! Honestly !!

As for the pressy's..... as I said above, lots of chocolate + a fantastic book from the M & M's. It's called 'Firefly - A Collection' and it's really, really great !! Lots of background stuff, about the show - photo's & stuff..... and, all the scripts to each episode !! It's brilliant & will take me a while to get thru' - that's for sure !!

If that wasn't a big enough treat - I was also given a Jenson Button T-shirt !! M was meant to be going, up to the British Grand Prix - but, called off, after a week of being poorly. However, he did get his Brother (I believe) to pick up the T-shirt for me.... well good !!

I wore it out, yesterday, for the first time.... very comfy & kind of cool, hurtling around, in my wheelchair, wearing a JB F1 T-shirt !! Brilliant... really brilliant.... thank you guys !!

As for B.... My Wife & Dearest Friend gave me another poster, to go with the big "Wow !!" poster, that I had for Christmas...... this one is not sooooo gory, but still good !!

The last time I saw the spinal Consultant, I asked for a couple pictures of my last MRI. - the poster is from one of them, well good !!

I might be the only person, in this Universe of ours, who wants posters, of his insides - but..... I find them fascinating, I really do !! They will probably never get put up, on a wall anywhere - but, that's not really the point. I just wanted a large poster & now I have two !!

As I say - this new one - is not so gory... just being a large picture of the metal work, in my back & how it's attached to my back bones. I might put it up, some place - time will tell on that one. I don't want to freak M (ME's partner) out, tho' - it would be fun !! Only joking M !!

Taking of M...

I'm playing a 3 Cd set, that he has loaned me, by Genesis..... it's called 'R-Kive' and, altho' I've not really worked out the meaning of the whole 'R-Kive' thingy... it's a collection of Genesis tracks, plus some solo pieces, from various members of the band.

There are 37 tracks, in total - sooooo, I'm not going to list all of them, but.... there are some classic early tracks on the thing - including the complete 'Supper's Ready' from the 'Foxtrot' album !! All in all - the tracks range, from 1970... right thru' to 2012. Quite a selection......

As for the music of the moment - I'm working my ways thru' the 'Live - Tokyo Dome' 2 Cd set, that I picked up the other week. I've already done a track listing for that set, a few posts back - sooooo, check that out, if you feel the need !!

I must of mentioned, that Lionel Ritchie was the surprise star, at Pilton a weekend or two back.... well, I've put the set on the Mini Egg, so B could play it, as she drives around. Unfortunately, yesterday - despite being on the Egg, we couldn't find it !!

Even when ME made a surprise visit, yesterday afternoon, she couldn't find Lionel Ritchie anywhere's on the thing !! We know it's there - because, eventually, I found it listed as 'Pilton 2015'.... but, neither of us, could find Mr R under his name.... all very weird !! It didn't really matter - mainly as B hasn't taken the Egg this morning anyways !!

She worked out, that our neighbour would talk all the ways to Taunton & all the ways back..... so, there was no point in taking the iPod with her. Oh well....

Just before I get way from music - I was playing Clifford T Ward's 'Home Thoughts From Abroad' Cd, yesterday, I think. Anyhoo - it's one of those albums, that I wanted to get on disc - to replace the old Lp. I was really surprised, considering it came out in 1973 (?) how well it's held up !! The tracks are:

I had to 'phone a girl, many Moons ago - to give her a very important message. Anyways - she was a big Clifford T Ward fan & was going by the name of Gaye..... no problem with that. However, I called the only number I had & I knew, that the girl who answered was Gaye - but, each time I 'phone (about 3 or 4 times - it was a very important message) she said I had a wrong number, or there was no one by the name of Gaye there !! All very frustrating...... !!

In the end - I explained who I was & what the message was.... and that I wouldn't call again. A few hours later - my 'phone rang & it was the girl, who I had spoken to, a bit earlier..... She apologized for her rudeness & thanked me, for the message & for not getting too pissed at her !! "There's nowt as queer as folk" as the old saying goes.....

Anyhoo - Gaye.... if you're still out there someplace & you're still a Clifford T Ward fan, I hope you're doing Ok. I know Clifford died a few years back now - but, I hope you're doing Ok !!

As some of you will know, the Government did their budget this week. Honestly - it's all summed up, by the programme, that was on TV last night - featuring a Government MP. It was called 'Who Do You Think You Are ?' - that's about right !! Oh well.....

Right - my plans for today.....

Well, very few actually !! Somehow, I've either banged my ribs, or pulled a muscle (more likely) & each time I move, well - it sends a reminder, right thru' that part of my body !! It's no big deal - but, I could live with-out the blooming extra pain & that's for sure.... oh well.

I think ME might be over again, later. M is having some work done, at home & she's coming here, to get of the ways. That, as always, will brighten my day.... I know all Fathers say, they have the best Daughter in the World - but, they're all telling fibs, I have the best Daughter in the World, sooooo I hope they can adjust !!

In the meantime - I might try & tidy up a bit, for B..... it won't be much - but, it might help. Sooooo - that & watching some more of 'Game Of Thrones' (I'm up to season 3 now - as I work thru' them again) is the plan, for now at least.
