Well, it's another Saturday & it's really a beautiful day outside !! I can see right across to the sea & the sky is making it really blue today - a good start to all the summer holidays for the kids !! I'm guessing most of the local schools have broken up for the holidays now - not sure about other areas tho'....
First off - a big "sorry" to all of you in Norway - the news I've been seeing has been horrible..... my heart goes out to all of you over there. Why people do such things is beyond me - you're in my thoughts & prayers.
Ok, I'm home here in the rec (living) room & I'm more or less alone at the moment. J is upstairs on his computer, ME is out shopping with her boyfriend & my Dearest Friend & Wife is out on her bike !! I just made sure I had tightened the wheel up enough for her - I put a new tire & tube on since her last ride - & off she has gone. I think she is staying on the roads today - keeping off the tracks, just until she is 100% happy with the new set up !!
Anyhoo - I'm here - the music is playing just below deafening - & it's not too bad a day so far !! B & I went into town earlier to pick up some food & stuff... another quiet "day in the life" so to speak !! Nothing very exciting going on !!
The music of the moment is by Nazareth - an album called 'the newz' - it's not very good.... well, depending on your taste I guess ?! I got it out of the local library & I'm a little disappointed by it !! I think it came out a few years back - 2008 - and some of it rocks along nicely - but, as with most of their albums, there are too many 'pop' tracks on it for my liking.... they are a really good 'rock' band, I don't got a lot on their lighter stuff !!
So, I've just changed it to their 'live' album 'Snaz' - Ok, it's a lot older - but - for me at least - it really is one of their best !! I was over the moon to get the 2 Cd set, when we went up to Birmingham.... for once, a good album to play over & over !! I really like the way they cover some other tracks - especially 'Tush' & 'Shapes Of Things' - two great tracks !!
My plan, today, is get back upstairs & try & do a little more painting..... such an exciting subject !! But, the walls will not cover themselves, so - as I've already started - I better get on with it !! I seem to have done Ok with the rest of the house, so far...... everybody who has seen it, likes the way the hall & landing look, so that's a bonus !! It's been 'hard work' - but it's been a bit of fun !! As long as I'm not on a tight time limit, well - it's been fun to do !! Plus..... what else am I going to do ?
Ok, that's enough for now - got to get painting !!
