It's a Tuesday here in old England - a little after 12 noon - and the weather (outside) is cold & wet. The weather (inside) is warm & dry...... as yet I've not put the heating on, but it is quite warm, so there is really no point at the moment !!
So - why have I been since Saturday.... nowhere really, just trying to get myself in a better shape than I am !! I felt very poorly overnight on Saturday, so I'm sorry to say Church missed out again this past week - I was all set to go, but the body just let me down - again !! I keep wondering, if I could trade this old wreck of mine in for a new one !! Mind you - given my age & condition - I don't think I would get a very good part exchange deal !!
The main problem is still this implant of mine - it really hurts at times, like a pulling sensation in my back !! The problem is - I keep forgetting it - then I move & "ouch!!".... it reminds me that it's still in there !! As of this moment, it still isn't doing what it is meant to do - but..... it can be adjusted in January, so we'll see how things go !! never mind....
On Sunday afternoon - some friends from Church, called in to make sure we were Ok.... once she saw the "wound site" she realised why we were missing that morning..... I really hope that we can make it this weekend - I believe it's the "Carol Service" this week.... so, we all go & make idiots of ourselves, trying to sing along !! You're all welcome - so, fly over & join in folks !!
We tried to phone our friends in America, on Saturday - to wish them well, with the wedding..... we found a number, but couldn't get an answer from them - I hope it all went well for them !! We'll see you soon guys !!
Right - the family....... J is upstairs in his room. he had to go into town this morning, but B gave him a lift. It takes longer (about an hour each way) by bus, so it was easier to drive him in. B has now gone back into the gym, for a class. All being well she'll be home around 2pm. So, that leaves ME & she is at Uni today.... I'm not sure how long for - but.....
As for me, I'm here typing these words along to Gov't Mule's 'Deepest End' DVD soundtrack...... I just love what I've called disc 3 - the 'Voodoo Chile' bit onwards !! Really good - great stuff to type to !! Keeps' me smiling, every time I play it !!
Last night was the Parish Council meeting - concerning the neighbour from hell's building plans. I wasn't going to go, but..... I am really p***d about the whole thing !! Even tho' our other neighbours have written complaints about the build - not one of them showed up to object in person. So, that left B & myself "high & dry" as far as things were concerned & the plans were passed without any reservation from the council members !! It was obviously going to go thru' - especially as no one but us two idiots were there to object + one of the council members is the next door neighbour to the owner of the house !! We'll have to see what the District Council say now - but, without the Parish Council objecting, there will be no-one to back us up !!
Why the other neighbours missed the meeting.... well, our thoughts were aired, however - it makes us out to be complete jerks & the others will have to live with their own thoughts on the subject !! They can hardly moan & then not show up to put their own objections forward........... it's a life, but......... !!
It's going to be a hectic week.... B has to go to a couple of meetings & gym classes, as well as looking out that I'm Ok. I think we're going to try & go Christmas shopping on Friday - that should be fun, tho' I'm not looking forward to the crowds !! I'm sure it'll be Ok - but.......
Yesterday we posted off a few cards to our friends - I'm not sure that some of them will make it in time, but we'll see how things go !! They keep telling people, that the last postal dates for cards is this or that, but things still get thru' more often than not !!
So - as for my plans today - I don't really have any at the moment. I might do some more Lp's - just for something to do.... but I'm not really in the right mood, to listen to piano favourites or whatever it is left to do !!
I'm certainly not going out today - I'm happy enough staying in the house, so that's good enough for me !! I'll just play some Cd's & enjoy the moment...... there is always something new & old to listen to. So, until next time.....
