Live On Blueberry Hill & other stuff....

Well Greetings Worlds !!

How are you all today ?!  I'm doing pretty good.... I actually got, what for me, was a good nights sleep !!  Every time I woke up, I seem to get back to sleep pretty quickly, so that was a bonus !!

Anyhoo - a big "Hello" to my reader in Russia !!  I hope you are doing well today - is there any news on Pussy Riot ?  Our news services seem to have forgotten about them......  So, anyways - "Hello" to you & my other readers around the World !!

It's another Tuesday, here in England..... B just went out & it seemed to be quite warm outside.  The one bit of "bad news"... the NFH has returned from holiday !!  Bummer - it's been really quiet around here for the last few weeks - while she was on holiday..... now we'll have to put up with The Lord knows what again !!

Our other neighbour, P, is still trying to sell his house..... his wife walked out on him & wants her half of the value !!  I've been there - it's a strange law !!  The man walks out & the wife - more or less - gets to keep the house. The wife walks out & she is entitled to half of it !!  It's not so simple as that.... but it's a strange one !!

Another neighbour... well, her long term partner has had a heart attack !!  This is a crazy old part of the World & that's for sure !!

Oh yes - I think B is getting fit to bust over another neighbour !!  Their Son's have been given a drum kit, I guess for a birthday or something.... anyways - they are banging away at the thing, at all hours of the day & B is getting really fed up with it !!

I keep telling her, that there is nothing anybody can do about it.... it's not like they are banging away thru' the night or anything..... I don't mind too much, myself........ tho', sometimes, if I'm feeling poorly in the afternoon, it gets a bit much.

The "upside" of it all - if there is one.... the family cannot really complain about other people's noise, not while their Son's are hitting the drums all day long !!  Onwards..... that's enough of the neighbours !!

As mentioned, B has gone out.  She is taking in a couple of gym classes & doing a small shop....... getting a few things & what have you.  Being a Tuesday, I get a chocolate !!  It's just something B does - each Tuesday, she buys the TV mag & picks up a bar of chocolate for me... bless her !!

J is here, in his room - not sure what he's doing at the moment...... more than likely on his computer.  Which leaves ME, who is at work today...... after a very bad start !!  Too explain.....

She gets up, about 6am each morning, to get ready for work..... this morning tho' I was called in, to do my "spider killing act" !!  There was a big house spider, about an inch & a half across, sitting in the bath, waiting for ME to get her shower !!  So - I was woken up - and went got the thing for her....... I've been doing that for so long, ever since she was really small !!

ME has had a bad few days really.  Not only a spider this morning, but on Saturday, her car battery died !! So, we called out the repair man - at about 9pm & by 11pm she was sorted !!  Ok - I know it was late - but, we pay about £50 per month, to cover both our car & ME's for this sort of thing.

That might sound like a lot.... but, we are covered for breakdown & courtesy cars & everything - so, it's a good deal really !!  Last year, or maybe the year before.... ME was heading for Uni & her old car broke down.  Not only did she get brought home, she got a courtesy car for 4 days, until her's was fixed & she only had to pay £25 towards the cost of the repair !!  So - it's a good deal..... if you need help, it's there to be used !!

Mind you - we won't be paying it forever !!  When she eventually moves out - she will have to cover that sort of thing on her own..... not yet tho' !!

As for the music of the day.... at the moment, I'm playing a 4 Cd set from Bruce Springsteen's New York concerts, recorded in the summer of 2000 (I think).  I would have to check the exact date - but, it's from around that time.  I have the official 2 Cd set that came out, in 2001 (I think).... but - I prefer this version of the show(s) !!

When I was in hospital, for 7 weeks, in 2001 - I remember B bought the 2 Cd set for me, to listen to.  I had a compact disc player & would play Cd's all day & some the nights as well !!  I remember B bringing this in for me.... but, later I sorted out this 4 Cd set, for myself........ it's well good !!

I have a Led Zeppelin show, from this day, in 1970....... I've no doubt written about it before, but... it's the famous 'Live On Blueberry' set.  It was the first ever Zeppelin bootleg, I ever owned, apart from stuff I had recorded off the radio..... and it was the first boot, I think, apart from 'pb' (Mudslide) to actually go on sale !!

Looking back on it - it was sooooo easy to pick up a copy of this, when it first came out on Lp.  I actually had 2 copies, on different coloured vinyl....... my first one got a little marked up - so, I went & got a 2nd one !!

I now have it on various Cd's - so... I've picked one of those to list the tracks from:

It's been a while since I've played this concert.... at the time it came out, it was really a must have - now, there are so many concerts, which in my opinion are far better, that this one sort of pales in comparison !! We were just glad to have a live Zeppelin show... well.... more another time...

As always, don't buy bootlegs.... save your money for the official recordings that have come out - not just by Zeppelin - but, by any group you might like !!

I mentioned yesterday, my plan to sort out the DVD's.... now that most of the video's have gone to the recycling yard.  Well, I did that yesterday & it's sooooo much better !!  A shelf for music, a couple of shelves for Sci-fi (mostly 'Star gate') and - more importantly - 2 shelves for B, so she can find the DVD's that she likes !!

As I type, I've been making DVD copies of various video's that we still have & that I want to keep, in some form or another !!  Stuff from many years ago - that, for what ever reason, never seems to come on TV any more.... as I do them, the tape gets put back, ready for the next trip into the recycling yard..... I have got quite a few still to do, but at the end of the day, it's been worth it - just to tidy up, if nothing else !!

I actually found 2 X 4 hour tapes of AC/DC !!  What the heck is on them, I have no real idea.... but, I'll check them out later.  If they are any good - I'll transfer them to DVD... if not, I'll just dump them !! Onwards....

Right, my plans for today.... none at all really.  I'll just kick back & play music, while I'm doing the tapes.  That sounds like a plan to me.... so, again, I thank you for logging in... until next time...
