"Two Days Before" Oakland 1970

Greetings !!

It's the first official day of Autumn, here in England.... and, having been awake for most of the night, I can certainly testify to the fact - it's getting colder !!  Never mind... it's a bright, warm day outside & apart from feeling pretty tired out.. it's not to bad !!

We were considering going down to Exeter, for the record fair, today..... but, due to my night's poor health, I decided I wouldn't bother.  Actually, it's a case of couldn't be bothered !! Seriously - after hearing the village clock strike, from 2am onwards... well, a day at home suits me just fine !!

But, the ladies of the house have gone out shopping... My Wife & Dearest Friend, B, needed to do a food shop & our Daughter ME, went with her - I think they will end up in Taunton or some other place... our little girl is a demon, when it comes to finding all the right shops to go into !!

So, that leaves our Son, J, at home with me - just incase I get into some kind of problems...... which, if that happens, well... I'll just head back to my bed & go to sleep !!  Sounds like a plan to me !!

Of course, long term readers, will know all the family members.... but, just incase you're new to this blog of mine, well - I thought I would fill in some the details !!  After all, it is called "My Family & The Music In My Life".... so, that's the family part !!  As for the music...

At the moment, I've put the first 5 Lynyrd Skynyrd albums in one of the Cd decks & I'm playing them on shuffle... it kinds of throws it around a bit, rather than just playing the tracks in order !!  I think it's the 3rd album playing as I type - I can't really remember !!

By "Cd decks" - I have 3..... a multi play 5 disc unit, a 2 disc unit & an old 4 disc thingy.... which, as it's the oldest one, I only use when everything else is filled up !!  The 2 & 4 disc units are Cd recorders - and that comes in handy from time to time.  But - their only to make my life easier........ and as I play music, pretty much, every day... they get a lot of use !!

Onwards......

As it's the weekend, I hope I'll be well enough to head over to the Church tomorrow..... if I have another night, like last night, it won't happen !! I want to meet up with the Bishop, about going to The Temple, it might pay to have a quiet day today & hopefully, be well enough to make the trip tomorrow !!  I'll have to wait & see how things go I guess !!

I'm not sure what is going to happen, about The Temple & going there...... we'll have to wait & see how it goes & what he has to say about it.  For me, it's about 4 years too late - we were ready to go, quite almost to the month, 4 years ago... but, it didn't happen !!  I don't know what else there is to do about it now.... oh well !!

I'm guessing, standing up & giving my little talk, 2 weeks ago, might have moved things along... but, I don't know !!  We're going to have to wait & see what happens about it !!  It's out of hands really....

Just back to music... I don't have any Zeppelin concerts from September 1st - but, as I'm not likely to be posting tomorrow, I've decided to jump ahead one day & take a show, recorded in Oakland, California, on September 2nd 1970.  The tracks are:

CD 1

1) Immigrant Song
2) Heartbreaker
3) Dazed & Confused
4) Bring It On Home
5) That's The way
6) Bron-Y-Aur
7) Since I've Been Loving You
8) Thank You

CD 2

1) What Is & What Should Never Be
2) Moby Dick
3) Whole Lotta Love
4) Communication Breakdown
5) The Train Kept A Rollin'
6) Blueberry Hill
7) Long Tall Sally

From the recordings I've got... the shows from this part of the American tour seem to get better & better !! They did 4 shows, in 4 nights & - apart from having really good recordings of them - they are really good "music wise" as well.... lots of fun to listen to, they really are !!

But - as I always say - don't buy bootlegs... buy the official stuff, they is lots of great live recordings by bands available, with out spending your cash on boots !!  More another time !!

As I have no clue, as to when the ladies will be home - I'm going to take the chance to sort out a bunch of old video tapes, that we no longer want.  They're old ones, recorded off the TV over the years - most of which have been replaced now, mainly on DVD's..... B took a bunch of stuff to the recycling centre, yesterday, and they are more than happy to take old video's.  It seems like they get sent off & re-used for some other things... makes sense to do that, rather than just dump them in a landfill site !!

Plus - it will free up a bunch of shelf space here in the "rec-room" !!  Some of the tapes haven't been played in years, so.... it would be good to let them go & get re-used !!  If I get more time, I'll try & find my computer table... at the moment, it's covered in rubbish, it really is !!  From scraps of paper, thru' to a glittery "Peace" sign, that Lady V sent me...... it, the peace sign, was on my computer, but it fell
off !!  Oh well....

Anyhoo - I will be on my ways.... if all goes well, I will be back in a couple of days, another "Monday Monday" type of post !!  Thank you for logging in.... until next time...

Bye Bye
