Lots more music.... and a warm bed !!

Well Hello Worlds !!

It's another Friday, here in ye old homestead.... if I tell you it's a little after 2.30pm & I've just got out of a very nice warm bed - well, that might tell you what kind of day I'm having !!  No really... it's not been that bad...

As I type, B is upstairs, so is J & ME is out with her boyfriend..... I think she will be home soon, as M is going to the Silverstone race track, over the weekend & I think he leaves today...... anyhoo - that's the family.

The music of the moment is Jimi Hendrix's 'Axis Bold As Love' album.... not one of my favourites, but it's just a bit of background stuff, while I type !!

Yesterday, I had to go into town & meet up with a new guy.... about how things are at the moment, health wise, for me.  I was a little bit uneasy.... the way I always feel, when I see some body new.  But, after meeting with him & spending over an hour talking together, well - he put me at ease & hopefully, over the coming months, he'll be able to help me out a bit...... coming to terms with my situation and all that goes with it !!

He won't be able to help with the physical effect of my problems - but, he'll be there to advise me on how to deal with it all & stuff like that.... I will let you know how things develop over the coming
times !!

B has just come down stairs now - having a shower & a change of clothes !!  While I was asleep, she went over to the neighbour... the one she helps out... and got a little dirty, cleaning up some mess & stuff !!  As she said, she feels "cleaner" now !!

The neighbour is a little poorly & B goes over to help as much as she can... today, well - she got a little dirty in the progress !!  Never mind..... she is only helping.....

Yesterday, while I was in the place - seeing the new guy... B went & picked me up some more Cd's to listen to !!  She knows the way to my heart !!  Anyways... this Hendrix Cd, the one I mentioned above + his first album 'Are You Experienced'.....also, 2 Talking Head Cd's - which I have on cassette, 'Speaking In Tongues' & 'Naked'......  another Hendrix 2 Cd set... 'Live At The Fillmore East'... which, I don't think I had ever heard before ?!  Ah - so much music & sooooo few brain cells to listen to it all with !!

Plus - with all of that... a question !!  When is a bootleg, not a
bootleg ?!  To explain.....

When the last Peter Gabriel DVD came out - I, as I often do - recorded the soundtrack, from the DVD over to Cd.... strictly for my own ease & enjoyment !!  I find it a lot easier, to listen to Cd's, rather than playing the DVD over & over.... it's the way I am...

Anyhoo - one of the Cd's B picked up yesterday, is the official 2 Cd set of the same show.... It's called 'Live Blood' and it's really good !!  My question is this tho'...... why is it almost identical to the 2 Cd set that I recorded off the DVD !!  It really is !!  It has the pre-amble at the beginning & the studio track, at the very end..... it's all very weird !!

I tell you honestly - Mr Gabriel..... it's exactly like my Cd's !!  So - when is a bootleg, not a bootleg ?!  I guess, when the artist releases it officially...... shame it wasn't just a little different from my copy.... But, never mind - it's good to have the "proper version" of the show !!  Thank you Peter G for putting it out !!

J has just gone out, to take Murphy (see earlier posts) for a walk....... B usually does it, but having just had a shower & stuff, she has let J do the honours...... I don't think he minds too much + it gets him out of the house !!

Ok - as it's September 14th... I can only write about one Zeppelin concert, from this day !!   It was recording in Berkeley California, on the 2nd night of 2 in 1971..... and it was out on a 2 Lp bootleg, famously called 'Going To California'.... it was brilliant & the Cd versions of the shows are well good !!  The tracks are:

5) Dazed & Confused

CD 2

1) Stairway To Heaven
2) That's The Way
3) Going To California
4) Whole Lotta Love

It's not the complete concert - being a straight copy of the 2 Lp set.... but, for an old idiot like me, it's really good to have !!  It replaces the Lp version very nicely, thank you !!

As always, don't buy bootlegs - just buy the official stuff !!  Talking of which.....

....the 2007 re-union concert is coming out very soon !!  You will be able to find it in some film centres & in November, on DVD & (hopefully) on Cd as well.  If it's been worth the wait.... the live tapes, of the show, came out so quickly, I'm surprised they haven't released it before !!  We'll have to wait & see if it's worth it..... only a month & a bit too go folks !!

Right.... all I've talked about today has seemed to have been music !!  The family has taken a bit of a back seat at the moment !!

B is still say here, cutting out some craft stuff - for the Christmas cards she'll make..... the table is covered in cut out Reindeer !!  Oh well..... our life goes on & on !!

For now tho'.... I really must be on my ways !!  I'm still feeling slightly out of it, from my sleep earlier...... never mind... I'll catch up
