Lots of music... oh yes..... !!

Greetings Worlds !!

I must say a big "Hello" to my Russian reader again... you've been reading a big chunk of my words this week - so, I thank you & everybody else around the World, for your time & for logging in !!

Ok - it's another Thursday, here in old England.  I didn't post yesterday - in fact, I didn't do much of anything yesterday !!  B took J into town, to a job meeting thingy, and I went along for the ride....... and in the process, came home with some more music to listen to.  More of that later - as I picked up some more today !!

First - the family..... B has just gone out to a gym class..... only one tonight.  Last week, I think, she did 2 on the Thursday & paid the price, with aches & pains, for a few days afterwards !!  So tonight, she is only doing one class.... better safe than sorry !!

So - that's My Wife & Dearest Friend.... ME is sat here, a few feet away, doing some "e-learning"..... whatever that is !!  "When I was a boy..." we used paper & pens !!  Never mind - she was home a little earlier today...... but, she is working all night tomorrow !!  Bummer !!  I think it's a one off.... part of training course...

Oh well.... that just leaves J - who has just gone upstairs to his dungeon.... um, I mean bedroom... probably to play some kind of game on his computer.  I don't really know - so, if you're reading these words, J - come on down & tell me what is happening !! Never mind - apart from the 3 cats, that's the family taken care of....

J has just come into the room.... no, he wasn't reading my words... just offering a bag of sweets around !!

The music of the moment is by Nazareth....... and is a new 2 Cd set of their singles, from over the years.  That's one of the "new" recordings I've picked up over the last 2 days.  I've also got a new (to me) Jimi Hendrix 'Live At Winterland' Cd.... 3 Cd's of Iron Maiden's "best of" from 1980-2010.

The new (2012) Patti Smith album, 'Banga'....  I've been playing that Cd to death today !!  What else - the new Neil Young Cd.... 'American'.... which I think will grow on me over the coming months.  At first listen, it was a bit "strange"... to say the least !!  His version of 'God Save The Queen' is a bit off the wall, but.... it will grow on me, I'm sure !!

Plus - I picked up a copy of Pink Floyd's 'A Foot In The Door - The Best Of Pink Floyd' - why, I don't really know.... I have all of their Cd's + a couple or 3 'best of' sets already !!  Never mind - it's all music folks & it's better than nothing at all.... tho', after playing some of it, all day, B might disagree with me !!

I think that's all of the new stuff - tho'... I might have forgotten something or another !!

I was thinking of something earlier.... not music related.....

Many moons ago, I went up to Lancashire (with my ex) and we took our big owl with us..... to explain.  My old man used to work for this company, that - well part of it - used to make big stuffed toys.  The owl, which is called "Evod" weighs in at about 12 kg & stands about 2 feet tall.  He is really a big toy - but, anyhoo... "Evod" was sitting in the back of the car, as I was driving south, along one of the motorways...... and this other car went by.  A little girl was in the back seat, and had obviously seen the owl & was pointing at our car & telling her folks "loooooookkkkkkk !!" !!  I wonder what she is doing now ?!  Does she remember "Evod" ?!  Oh well.....

This all came to mind today, after the horrible events that have taken place in France.  A family were shot & the police found a 4 year old, unharmed, under her Mum's body !!  Her folks are dead, but her Sister is alive - well, she was the last I heard.  It is very bad & our prayers go out to them & their relatives..... It really is a sick World !!

There was a cyclist found dead at the same place - but, as yet, I've not heard why or what happened.

Ok - onto other things.... I see, from your e-mails, that my listing the Zeppelin boots is still popular.  What I'll do next year, well - I don't know..... I could keep going, but... as I don't really know what I've written about, this year, I'll more than likely mess it up !!

But, I do have another concert, again from 1970.... this time, part of a concert the band did in Honolulu, Hawaii.  I only have one Cd of part of the show - but, it's all good... the tracks are:

It's only short - but... worth having in the collection !!  It's got a bit of a weird thing on it - for some reason, 'Dazed & Confused' was played before 'Heartbreaker'..... it's a bit strange, as it changed the running order & that didn't happen too often.  Some writers claim it was a mistake - but, I don't go for that.... Page didn't make any attempt to play 'Heartbreaker'... leaving Jones to play the opening bass line of 'Dazed'... Ok - it's a sad fact, I have no life & I listen to far too much music..... heck, what else am I going to do ?!

I'll have more shows, another time, but for now - as always, don't buy bootlegs, buy the official stuff instead.

Oh - one last thing on music..... the family have decided, that for Christmas, I can have the complete 2012 Allman Brothers collection !!  How cool is that !!  It will be released in a box & will contain every show the band has done - or will do this year !!

When they were working out Christmas gifts, I said I would like the box set & - to my surprise - B said it was Ok & the guys are going to chip in & help pay for it !!  I'm over the Moon & if you're reading these words Lady V.... put my name on one of them...... hopefully B won't change her mind !!  That would be very sad & I might cry about it, if she did that !!  Only joking.... but it sure would be great to get the box set !!

But - with that in mind... I should be on my ways.  Oh - I forgot something.....

Last night, I fell over (again) and i woke up this morning with the makings of another "black left hand"... if you read earlier posts, you will see this has happened before..... tho' this time, it's not quite so big or painful !!  Great stuff - just when I thought I was getting away with any injuries, this goes & happens !!  Never mind !!

Right, I must be on my ways.... thank you for your time... until next time...
