Apocalypse Now - Redux... Ho-hum

Greetings World's !!

It's a very wet & horrid Monday, here in England..... tho' - I'm staying in the warm for the day, I have no plans on going outside !! It's too wet & I don't really have any needs, outside of the house today !!

B & ME have just gone into town..... I'm not 100% sure why ME wanted to go - but, B had to get a few things from the supermarket & also put some cash into the bank.......... it seems like, no matter how much we put into the account, we never seem to break even !! Oh well - life is good, so what the heck !!

Earlier today, B went down to see my local Dr..... he says I'm taking too much of the morphine stuff. So be it - if he's not going to help me with my pain control - I'll bring it up, with the Consultant (who I'm seeing on Wednesday) and see what he has to say about it !! I still have a hole in my back.... which, as you can possibly imagine, hurts like hell..... so, the morphine has been my only way of controlling the pain !!

I don't have any time for my local GP anymore..... he lost any "goodwill" (shall we say) that I had for him, last May. If he wants to mess about with my pain management, well - that's up to him....... Bugger him !! I'll manage some other way - after all, he hasn't seen me, since the infection took hold - so, I don't think he can really decide what is needed & what is not !!

I'll see what the Consultant has to say.... if he says to cut back, that's what I will do !! The Consultant has been with me, thru' all of this & I'll take his advice above anyone else..... that's on Wednesday, so I'll let you know how things go !!

Tomorrow - Tuesday - I think, I have a dentist appointment...... I'm not really too sure about that ?! I know we have to go in & out of various places this week - tomorrow, I think, is the dentist !! It's not going to be a lot of fun - mainly as I'm not really sure how I'm going to get onto his couch thingy.... let alone lie down on the blooming thing, with the above mentioned hole !!

I was meat to go.....  several months back - but, I was stuck in the hospital...... so, I'm guessing he is going to find a few things wrong, once I actually get into his little surgery !! Time will tell - but, as I've written before - I don't mind going (to the dentist) so - I'll go with the flow & see what he has to say needs doing !!

Later in the week, B has a separate appointment, so, I know she won't enjoy that !! She hates going to the place, oh well !! It's a shame we couldn't get a joint visit, but.. that's how it goes some times.  I might go with her. to sort of "hold her hand"... but, I'll see how things go & what else she has to do, on the day.

Back to today - I'm expecting one of the nurses to come, to change my dressings. I really hope that - after my visit, to the Consultant, the whole dressing regime will get changed. I've had Rover with me now, for several months & it would be great, to just get rid of him & have a "regular" dressing on my back !!

Rover - if you'll reading my words for the first time - is a small black bag, which holds a vac pump thingy. It is on, constantly pulling at my wound.... without being too gross, "sucking" the nasty stuff out of it !!

I printed up a bunch of pictures, taken over the last couple of months, of the wound.... and it's quite incredible how much it has healed up !! I just wish it didn't hurt so much !! Nevermind - I'll try & get the nurse to take another picture, today, so I'll have a complete set, to give to the Consultant.

He hasn't seen it so often... so, the pictures might be of interest to him. If nothing else, he can keep them - to show others - how the pump really works, over a period of time.... helping to heal the wound.

Oh well......

Going back to yesterday.... B & I went to our first "Craft Fair" - it was totally crazy !! There were a couple of hundred women there and, honestly, it was like a feeding frenzy...... you know, like you see pictures on the news, when the big stores have a massive sale ?! They were pushing & shoving, like there was no tomorrow - or as if things were going to sell out, before they could get to them... really crazy !!

I started off, by following B around the stalls - but, I was getting pushed around so badly, I gave up. One woman actually moved me out of her way.... actually pushed my wheelchair, so she could get
by !! Honestly - in the end, I just waited back in the small spaces, around and about the stalls....... really crazy !!

I couldn't believe how rude, some the woman were...... I've never seen anything like it before !! Even when I've been to record fairs - I've not seen "madness" like that !! Oh well - B got what she wanted & we came home with quite a few "goodies" to add to her "craft stash" !! Next time we go to anything like that - I'll wear body amour or something !! Ho-hum.....

As for the music of the moment.... well, it's not really music. For the last 3 hours (nearly) I've been listening to the Cd's of 'Apocalypse Now - Redux'..... the movie. I know it's a bit dumb - putting movies onto Cd & stuff... but, I enjoy doing it & listening to them back, thru' the stereo system.

As long time readers will know - I had wanted to do this particular movie, for quite sometime.... & - at some point - before going into the hospital, in May, I must of sat down & actually recorded it all, putting the tracks in & everything.... it was a surprise to find it, when I came home.... I really didn't remember doing it.... at all !!

Today's plan, has been, to listen to the Cd's - making sure they have no glitches on them - and, if all goes well, a bit later, I'll transfer them over to the Mini Egg !! It - the Egg - is getting quite full now..... but, I'll make it fit..... somehow !!

If nothing else, I'll take some of the more "religious" albums off of the thing & make room, for it, that way. I have 4 or 5 Mormon choir Cd's on it & I rarely play them, since coming out of hospital - so, if need be, I'll lose them.... after all, I'll still have the Cd's here, on the shelf, so.... it's not like I'm not going to be able to play them !!

The film Cd's are just coming to an end - they have worked out at 3 hours and (about) 17 minutes in length.... that'll give me something to play back - as & when I need to !! "Wow" - I didn't realise it was going to be sooooo long !! Oh well.... it'll be interesting to transfer them over.... I'll see how that goes, after the nurses visit !!

The music of the moment now is..... well, I think it's the soundtrack music to 'Game Of Thrones - Season 3'. Yep - that's what it is..... I wasn't really sure what was in the machine !!

I've bought myself seasons 1 & 2 on DVD - but, as yet, I've not seen the 3rd season.... which, I don't think, has been released yet. Anyhoo - I'm part ways thru' the first part of book 3.... so, I've got plenty of time to find the DVD's !!

One of my Dr's - in the hospital - said that books 3 & 7 were the best.... so far, he has been right !! I enjoy a good read anyhow, so... what the heck, I'll probably read all of them at some point !! Tho' - to be honest, I'm not sure just how many books there are in total...... I think it's 8, tho' I'm not 100 sure about that !!
