Canned Heat - 'Live At Montreux' !!

Greetings World's...

I hope your bit of the Universe is treating you well, this fine - but cold Monday evening ?! I can't moan - about the cold... I'm home alone, with the heating going nice & toasty !! I know - I could put on an extra layer of clothing - but, when I feel the cold... it really is cold !!

I did put the heater on, mainly as My Wife & Dearest Friend - B - feels the cold.... she really does... so, I fired up the boiler & then she got a 'phone call. Once again - her Dad has been taken into hospital... !!

As I type, she (B) is heading towards town - where she will meet up with our Daughter (ME) and from there, the two of them will make the trip up to Bath.... where my Father-in-Law's hospital is !! As mentioned before - it's a good 60 mile journey, from here.... sooooo - ME has come to B's rescue !! Bless her... both of our children are brilliant - they will do anything to help B... especially in times like these !!

As it was - B & I had just come home, from town.... so, it was a quick turn-a-round, for her.... and now - well... I'm home alone !! I just hope everybody gets on Ok !! I do not get on, with my Father-in-Law... well, lets just say, we tolerate each other !! But - I don't want the guy to be too poorly !!

The reason, for our trip to town, was mainly as I had to go into the hospital - our local hospital - so I could have my dressings changed again !! They were only done, yesterday - but, overnight the bloody things packed up & it meant another trip !! It's really a pain in the butt - but....... life goes one !! I could of done, with-out the extra bit of pain.... but.....

I now have to wait, until Wednesday, when - as mentioned before - I have to return to the hospital, in Exeter, to see the plastic surgeon... the guy who has done the last two operations on me. I really hope he has some idea, as to what he's going to do next !!

It's 17 months ago, today, that I went into hospital.... on May 28th, last year (17 months ago, tomorrow) I had my first surgery - it's been a very, very long haul, to get to where I am now..... !! Thankfully - with the help of my family & The Lord above - I'm still here.... sooooo, enough of my complaining !!

The music of the moment.... it's a bit special, it really is !!

As I type - I'm (sort of) watching a DVD, featuring Canned Heat - live at the Montreux Festival, in 1973 !! It's really a bit special.... being filmed just a couple of years, after I saw them !! I'm told it's the only 'Official' concert footage of the band... I don't think that's exactly true - but, I'll settle for what I've got !! The tracks are:

4 of the tracks feature Clarence 'Gatemouth' Brown..... but, I won't hold that against them !! It's still a fantastic bit film & great music to go along with it !! At some point, I'll see if I can find it on Cd... hopefully it will be available !! Time will tell, on that one....

In front of me - all over my computer table, I have about 200 Cd's - which, somehow, have migrated from various shelves, to be with me !! I had great plans - to put them away, today... but.... I'll have to look at them, in the morning.... maybe !!

It shouldn't take too long... mainly as several of them are by one group or another. I can see most of Dream Theater's albums in front of me.... so... they will all go on one shelf, with-out having to fuddle around, looking for spaces to fit them !! I might try & put some of them away, in a minute or two.... after I finish writing these words !!

I must be on my ways..... if B comes back late, I want her to come home to a clean-ish home !! So, that's going to give me something to do, over the next hour - give or take !! No - really, it's not going to take that long... but, I must make a start on things & be on my ways....
