Rainbow & Ten Years After

Greetings World's !!

Ok - I know it's been more than a week - since I last sat here.... I'm really sorry about that !! However - I have been feeling pretty bad..... mainly with this continuing hole in my back..... more on that later.

First tho' - The Family !!

I'm actually home alone !! B - My Wife & Dearest Friend - has just gone into town, to meet up with one of her Cousins & she won't be back, for a couple of hours, at least...... sooooo, apart from a couple of the cats, I'm here all by my lonesome !! It's no biggy - it does mean, however, that I can have the music up to just below deafening !! Great stuff..... especially as I've had a bunch of new Cd's come in the post....

At the moment, I've put 3 Cd's - into the 5 disc multi-player - and I've got them on shuffle.... which is Ok by me !! At the moment, I'm listening to Rainbow's 'Anthology 1975-1984'.... mixed up with Ten Years After's first album.... simply called 'Ten Years After' !!

As I was typing the above - the postman has just put another Ten Years After Cd, thru' the letterbox !! This time it's a 2 Cd set, recorded live, way back in 1973..... I did have it on Lp - but... the Cd has 7 "bonus" tracks - so, that's fine by me !! It's actually called 'Recorded Live' & the tracks are:

Sooooo - why all the Rainbow & Ten Years After stuff ? ! Good question....... !!

The Ten Years After stuff - including the 5 Cd "multi-pack" that I picked up, a while back... well... that all goes back to a 2 Cd 'live' set, which I (might of) written about, a while back, by Al Kooper. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it, a few weeks back - if not... let me know !!

Anyhoo - that live set, had Mr Kooper's 'I Can't Keep From Crying' on it...... which, at the time, reminded me of the old TYA albums, that I used to have here on vinyl - now on tape.

They always did a great cover version, of that one track.... sooooo - I went & got myself the albums, on Cd !! Heck - I might be broke.... but, the sound of music does help to keep me "sane" !!

The Rainbow Cd's... well, I picked up a copy of their live 'Black Masquerade' 2 Cd set... again, a few weeks back & I decided to check out this set + another 2 Cd 'Best Of'... which, hopefully, will get here next week... time will tell....

Moving on & back to the reasons I've not posted anything.... for just over a week. It all comes back to the hole, that I've had in my back, for a little over 16 months !! It really has been playing up - pain wise & I've just not felt "well enough" to sit & write anything.... sorry about that !!

Last Wednesday, I had my 5th 'Vac Pump' dressing put over the wound..... which we have called Colin !! You will have to read my old posts, to understand the whole "name" thingy, concerning my various pumps !! Anyways....

.... The nurse fitted the pump, as I say, on Wednesday... & - since then - the pain has been, just a shade, below screaming level - I kid you not. It really has knocked me sideways - so much so, that this morning, I had to see my local Dr. - who has put me on a higher dose of morphine. Hopefully - it will help me.... if nothing else, to get a good night's sleep !! Oh well.... it hurts, that's why I've not written anything.... sorry about that !! I will try & do better in the future !!

Right - I must away.... I have set up my "dish washing chair"... in the kitchen & I hope I will get the place cleaned up, before B comes home !! That should be fun....
