Ok - it's June 1st 2011 & on this day in 1987 I was playing 'Sgt Pepper' !! I only know that as I wrote it down, all those moons ago...... strange really, as I don't actually own the album !! If I remember rightly, I was given a cassette of the album, at the time - which means I must still have someplace - "sad but true".
Today, however, I've been playing all sorts from Lynyrd Skynyrd thru' to Neil Young....... for my sins tho', I'm now playing Jedward !!!!!!!!!!! I'm just waiting for the men in white coats to come & take me away !! Quickly please - hurry !!
In my defence, ME is here with me (cleaning out the hamster) & she is really having fun listening to it - why ? I don't know..... maybe she thinks the same about my taste in music !! Oh well..... I don't see the men in white coats yet, so to continue.......
Right, it's a Wednesday & I've been playing all sorts today while painting ME's bedroom - which, I'm pleased to say, I have now finished - yippeeeeee !! The smell, from the gloss paint has completely messed me up today - my head is going around & around........ how pro' painter & decorators use the stuff all the time is beyond me !! Never mind - it's a life I guess....... tomorrow her new bed should be here, so the room is finished in time for that. I do have to paint the roof bit, but I intend doing that at the same time as the hall/landing & J's room !! Got to buy some paint first & it's not that cheap.... tho' having said that, I might already - I'll have to check it out, I can't remember what I've got - I struggle with the days of the week !!
I've given up on Jedward - ME has gone upstairs - so I'm back onto Skynyrd. A bootleg from 2003.... quite good, some of the newer songs are even better 'live' than on the album. Mind you, I always like 'live' albums the most anyhooooo !!
The painting has given me chance to play older stuff & it's been a lot of fun...... music while I work, sort of !! The Neil Young was brilliant & with the windows open, the whole area could hear it - our neighbour looked up & said "Hi" on her way out......that was nice of her !! Most of the closer neighbours know I'm have a good spell of health at the moment, so they are happy for me !!
Some of the others are probably thinking, "he can't be that sick if he's painting a bedroom"..... screw them !! I take upwards of 40 tablets a day, just to help me thru' the day + the morphine, for when the pain is too great....... maybe, they would like to change body's & see how they like it !! Never mind......
They didn't see me yesterday afternoon collapsed in bed for most of the afternoon/evening - but that was just a "blip"'... I ran out of steam & needed to recharge !! If my body gives out again tomorrow - well, at least her room is done + the new bed is coming & she is well happy with that !!
No really, I went to bed really early last night - I felt so poorly !! But I put that down to just having a funny five minutes & also feel really tired. Tonight, tho' is NCIS & I enjoy watching that - so I'll get me P/Js on & get ready to watch that at 9pm !!
Oh yes - I mentioned the guys, ME & J - who are both upstairs now.... but, I forgot to mention B - who has gone out for a walk, with her keep fit class !! The building they use, is closed this week - so the group are out on a mad walk around some place...... crazy I call it !!
Look out for a film called, "The Long Walk Home"........ it's a little old now, but it's well worth a look - Peter Gabriel did the music for it.... give it a try. It's worth it !! For now........
