Ok - it's another Monday here in good o' England & the sun is bright, the sky is blue, but.... well - it's kind of cold out there !! Come to think about it - it's cold in here as well.... never mind, life goes on & on !!
Right, I've been 'away' for a few days (miss me ?)........ by 'away', well - I've still been here, but not exactly 'with it' here !! With feeling a wee bit under the weather + doing some painting..... time has just gone by & I've just not got around to writing a new post..... sorry about that !!
It's been a good few days tho'. On Friday night B & I went to see the brilliant Otway & Barrett on their '40 ODD Years 1971-2011' tour & it was a great night !! It's the second time we've seen them & they are well worth the trip out..... trip out, well..... the 20 mile round trip into town & back !! If you've never seen or heard of these guys, you must look them up on the net - they are great fun !!
Not only did we get a good nights fun, we came home with 3 new Cd's & I got myself a freebie T shirt !! When we went in, I mentioned that I didn't get a shirt last time around, so they gave me one !! How good is that ? I'm well pleased !! The Cd's are brilliant as well..... Not only did we get a compilation of stuff to celebrate the tour, but also a bootleg of the guys (sold by the guys - don't buy bootlegs !!) from 1977 + a Cd containing both of their 'Way & Bar' and 'The Wimp & The Wild' albums on one disc....... 3 discs for about £10 - can't be bad !! I'm really pleased to have got the 'Way & Bar' album, as it's the only one left to get on Cd, that I used to have on vinyl - so, that ticks off a box !!
So, the music of the moment is the compilation album mentioned above - a nice change from some of the stuff I play.... good stuff !! As for the family, B & ME have gone back out to the gym (ME's idea - I don't think B was overly keen, but went anyways).... as for J, he is (again) upstairs in his room, on his computer - no big surprise there !! Still - I know he's there if I need help !!
I mentioned doing some painting - well, I should of said 'sanding'...... I spent the best part of a day cleaning the old paint off the bathroom door !! It had 3 different layers on it + once I got thru' the paint, I found a nasty hole that somebody had filled in at some point.... it's going to take a bit of sorting out, but at least the 'hard' part has been done - all I have to do now is paint the thing.... not looking forward to that, but never mind !!
I was expecting a visit from my Brother over the weekend - but nobody showed....... I was feeling pretty poorly on Sunday, didn't really wake up until 12 noon (missed Church)... so.... well, we were here if he wanted to call in. Never mind........ life goes on & on.
I fully intended to go to Church when I went to bed on Saturday, but I was feeling quite poorly overnight & in many ways, it was better that we stayed home - hopefully this weekend coming will be better - it's 'Father's Day' on Sunday, so I would like to go for that !!
Oh talking of Church our hearts & thanks go out to T for the lovely gift of the DVD's that came a few days ago + the Cd that was with them !! One of B's favourite tracks was on there & it really made her day to listen to it over & over........ it's the Billy Joel track 'Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel)' & done by a full male choir.... it's really good - nice one T !!
Talking of DVD's - my Father's Day gift came today.... 'Paul' - it's really funny !! I know it's not the actual day, but B let me watch it early - that is to say, she didn't say I couldn't !! A great film & worth a watch..... BUT, there has to be a price to be paid for such fun - our DVD/VCR machine seems to have gone wrong, so it's going into the shop tomorrow to be looked at - it's under warranty, so that's not so bad - but I'm a little fed up with the thing !! It's - with the music in my life - a big deal to me to be able to watch things over & over... hopefully, it'll be sorted out tomorrow, tho' I doubt it !!
Ok - the music of the moment is now a Cd I did from an old tape.... the tape was called 'One World, One Voice' & when I've tried (not very hard) to find it it on disc - well - I just moved it from tape to Cd..... it's a good listen. Maybe one day I'll find it on Cd, but...... we'll see.......
Right - it's 7pm, so I best be on my ways........ got pills to take & "sleep to sleep, before another day starts"... so I must away. It's C's birthday tomorrow - 26 years old, "Wow !!"
