I'm sat here - the 'kids' are here with me.... J in the kitchen washing up & ME sat at the table doing some 'homework' from Uni. My Dearest Friend & Wife - B - is out at a weight watchers meeting & then onto "palates" (?) or what ever it's called. My - or at least one of my consultants - suggested that I might try it, to see if it would help with my back 'problems'......... I won't tell you exactly what I said to him !!
So anyhooooo, B is out for the night & I'm sat here typing along to something I've waiting "years & years" for.. an official release of Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of The Moon' - live from Wembley in November 1974 !! B came home with a copy, for me, today & this is the first chance I've had to listen to it - so far, so good !!
I've had a copy of this for years - it was broadcast, on a Saturday afternoon, on BBC Radio 1....... via the Allan Freeman show, back in 1975. At the time, I recorded the broadcast of my old reel to reel tape deck at the fastest speed I could...... that tape went the way of many over the years, so it's really great to have this new copy. Now, if the guys would release the whole concert - that would be good, plus it would replace the audience taped bootleg that, like me, has been around for (what seems like) forever !! Ah - the joy of music.... brilliant stuff !!
That's me sorted for the night at least - I've not played too much music over the last few days...... the 'surgery' I had on my mouth last Wednesday - has been playing up a little bit & I've spent a lot of the last 3 days in bed, kind of, sleeping it 'away'. Never mind - it will get better, I just wish it would hurry up a bit !!
Last night, The Bishop 'phoned to make sure I was Ok. I explained that Friday's surgery was cancelled - he said that explained why I sounded so good !! Bless him - at least he called.... it's more than a lot (most of) the congregation do !!
Over the weekend, it was our General Conference... well, at least the half yearly one. It was really good to listen to the speeches & wise words. President M is a "gem" - he has such a way with him, the way he can talk to an audience of millions & still make it sound like he is talking to 'you' in person. A great man !! I'll be playing the DVD's back over & over.... that is for certain !!
My plans for tonight are pretty clear cut.... music, more music & then bed !! Yep, I have been asleep most of the day - but..... well, bed sounds like a nice way to finish the evening off !! This Floyd Cd is well good - try & hear it if you can - you will not be disappointed by it.... They should release the rest of the show - I'll just have to put up with the bootleg until they do !! Never mind........
I'm still fighting my thru' the Grateful Dead shows I was given on the weekend...... 'fighting' is the wrong word. let's say I'm still trying to play them. The 1978 show, for me, is the best of the 2 - but... well, I'm sure there are people who would prefer the 1991 set more. Each to their own I guess !! I just like long shows, with long tracks - so, as I say, the 1978 show has the edge, for me.
I was pleased to see that my "pages" were read more often, in September, than they were in August..... it's really nice to know that people are taking the time to read my words !! So, "hello" to you in Russia, in India, in America & Europe as well....... This 'blog' started as a little bit of 'fun' for me - now I know others are 'enjoying' my words as well !! It's also kind of weird to see myself come up on Yahoo - that is strange, but never mind - life goes on.
So must I - but, before I go. My thoughts are with Ms Knox this eveneing. Justice has been done & you're now free to be home with your family........ one day, I hope - we'll know who killed the girl - whoever that might be, I have nothing for you, other than disgust. Enjoy life, Ms Knox..... for now, I will away....
Bye Bye
