It's a Wednesday night & as I type, ME, my Daughter is sat beside me doing some computer work, I'm guessing to do with her Uni placement.... J, my Son, is upstairs... doing something on his computer for me & B, My Wife & Dearest Friend... well, she has just gone out to a gym class for an hour or so. I don't think she really wanted to go, but she went anyways !!
Tomorrow is her birthday, so we're all doing little things in our own ways, to give her a 'surprise' day ..... not sure what, but - that's what is soooo fun about surprises !! If you don't know what is going to happen, then it has to be good, in some way or another !! I'm not sure if that makes any sense at all, but I kind of know what I mean !!
Ok - I had a really s**t night, last night... I just couldn't get off to sleep !! In the end, I was down here watching DVD's of 'Star Gate Universe' into the small hours..... B gave me another sleeping tablet & I went off to sleep about 4am !! Crazy way to live, but that's how things are at times, for me at least !!
But, that was last night - this morning we had to go into town, to do some shopping & then we came home, I had a huge surprise waiting for me !! On the table, in a box... all the ways from the US of A was a 2 Cd set of Gegg Allman, live in concert !! I'm playing it now, as I type - it's brilliant !! For this treat, I have to thank a lady I've never met... the wonderful Lady V at the Allman's web site/merchandise office. It is really, really good & I can not thank Lady V enough. I have to get a box of goodies out to her at some point, to share with her husband !! If you read these words, Lady V - many, many thanks !!
So, that was my day.... it started off pretty bad & just got better & better !! To have a live show, like this, is soooo good, it's unreal to me - apart from a copy of the show itself - the one we saw - well, I'll settle for this any time !!
J is upstairs trying to track down another concert for me... not so much the concert, but some details of/or about it. It's a Gov't Mule show which they did in London a few weeks or so ago & I'm trying to find out what they played & so on. I understand it was a really good/special night, so I would like to know what was played & so on & so on......
I could more than likely find out for myself - but, when it comes to computers & the such like - well, I leave it to J, or ME's boyfriend.... who is studying computer "stuff" at his Uni. He has just got here, since I started typing - a great lad !!
My plans for tonight are - well, I don't really have any !! I'm going to play these Cd's thru' & then get myself ready for bed...... hopefully, I stay awake long enough, so that I'm here when B gets home !! I am very tired tho'.... I've not done very much all day, but the lack of sleep, from last night, is catching up on me !! So, I'm more than likely going to finish these words - have a read of my book & then head to bed !! Such fun !!
I'm really hoping I'll be able to get to the next record fair on the 22nd of the month. I'm all set up for it - got a few things to pick up from people (mostly empty cases - as I'm running low) & a couple of old albums I'm hoping to trade on to others. We often do an exchange of some sort - it's cheap, it's better for everyone, as no money changes hands & we all get something we want out of it !! Plus, it's good to meet up with old friends... many of who I only see once or twice a year.... usually at fairs !!
I might be lucky next week... I've always wanted a top of the range 'Atlas' - full of maps, full of detail & what have you. Well, one of our stores in town are selling some - which I'm guessing are slightly out of date - for a knocked down price. Instead of £75 each - they are going for £15 each.... & for that sort of money, I might just treat myself to one. That is unless they sell out in the mean time !! I can't really get one before next week - our cash will only go soooooo far, so I have to wait for a few days !! I hope it'll all work out - but time will tell, I guess.......
It will mean tho' - I'll have maps of the various countries where you guys are reading these words... so, who knows, I'll actually get to know where you all are !! Don't worry - I won't drop in with-out being invited !! Not this week at least..... for now tho'... I must away.. until next time !!
