It's a very wet and horrid evening here in old England - it's been going from dry to wet all day.... now, I think, the weather is in for the night !! Thankfully, I'm indoors for the rest of the day !! Mind you, I've not been out at all today - so I shouldn't really complain !!
Today - well, from last night onwards - has not been the greatest for me. I've been in bed for most of the past 6 hours or so...... catching up on sleep I missed in the night !! If all goes well, things will be better tonight - it can't get much worse really...... never mind !!
B has sorted out 2 Doctor's for me to meet tomorrow - so, hopefully by lunchtime, I'll have some better idea of what is going on with this old body of mine !! The first one is early in the morning & the second, just before lunch time - so, we'll see how things go...... for the better I hope !!
Talking of B.... she has had a 'Royal' day !! She was invited to the gym, for a demonstration thingy & while she was there, the Queen's cousin - the Duke Of Kent came in, had a look at the place, a talk to various people (including B) & then moved on. So, bless her, B has been having fun !! She has gone back to the gym, this evening, for another class of some sort or another - she'll be home in just over an hour or so.....
As for the other members of the homestead - J is upstairs someplace & ME is here abouts with her boyfriend, who has just got 'home'.... so, that just leaves me here, typing these words to all of you !! Not sure where the cats are at the moment - but, they'll show up when it's feeding time !!
As for the music of the moment - well, it's loud & is Deep Purples 'Live At Knebworth' Cds from 1985. I could of gone to this show, but.... well, it took place a few days (a week) after my son C was born, so.... well - it would not of been right to have gone off for a concert, at that time.
For those of you who might wonder who C is - he is my son, from my first marriage....... He is somewhere in Canada - well, as far as I know - someplace & we're not at all close. In fact, I've only met him for a few hours over the last 25 years.... so, as I say, not close - and I repeat, it wasn't the right time to shoot off to a concert !! Never mind - I have all the sets, from that day (except one) on tape & Cd.... so, apart from the atmosphere, I didn't miss anything !!
Add to that - this show has one of the best 'Smoke On The Water' versions in our collection - tho'.... well, I think Gillan's version from the Reading Festival in 1981 is better. Both are good tho'........ & I'm thinking we have so many versions of it now, that it would be hard to sort one from the other !! Toooooo many Cd's & not enough time to play them all..........
I've spent most of the last couple of days - when I've been awake - playing 'The Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy' set.... all 13 Cd's of it !! I haven't played it too often, so it's been fun to listen to !! I had forgotten huge chunks of it... well, it came out a long time ago !!
I've just realised, this Deep Purple Cd... well, it's different to the original radio broadcast !! I wonder why they edited it ? Very strange..... it's nearly finished, so next up is Roky Erikson's 'Casting The Runes' - a great album & a nice change from the Purple set !!
As for my plans for tonight - well, I haven't got any.... probably, more music & then bed - as usual, I'm not sure in which order, but.... it's a little plan, one that will probably get changed as the night goes on !! I'll see......
.... and talking of seeing things - there is another record fair coming up this month, this time about 50 miles away, in Exeter. I really would like to be fit enough to go to that one - I've missed the last 2 or 3 down there this year & that's not good !! It's nice to go down & catch up with friends - and, maybe - spend some time getting them to give me Cd's.... usually, The Grateful Dead.... we'll see !! I think, the last time we went down, we stayed over night in a hotel... can't really do that this time - but, we'll see what happens !!
Oh well, I must away.... it's getting late & I'm still feeling a little tired out.... so, for now....
