'An American Prayer' Ho-hum....

Well "Hi" again !!

I wasn't really expecting to write anything today.... but, as I'm home alone, at the moment... well, I thought why not !!

I'm here sat, on my ownsome... B & J have just gone into town... J has a meeting... and ME has gone off to work, for the rest of the afternoon. As yesterday - she is only doing a half day... so, she'll be home later. No - correction - she is going to M's place tonight... so, we'll see her tomorrow morning !!

Anyhoo - with everybody out... it means I can blast the music, just a bit louder than normal !! As I type, I'm listening to the Grateful Dead's 'Rocking The Cradle'... which features 2 Cd's of their Egypt concerts, in 1978. I wish it was a longer recording.... but, I can't have everything !!

There is a DVD - to go along with the music... but, I've not played that in ages !! I much prefer to listen to the Cd's instead !!

I'm also transferring some more albums, across to the Mini Egg...... I've spent a few hours, this morning, loading them onto the computer - now it's time to move them over !! I think I'm doing an old Dream Theater live set.... not exactly sure !!

The big news of the day... well, big to me... is the arrival of my brand new wheelchair !! As yet, I've not taken it out on the roads (so to speak).... but, it feels pretty comfortable !! It's going to be easier, for me to push around - plus, it has a little motor pack, which can be fitted (or not) to help B get me around & about !!

It's been a long time problem.... when I'm out & about.... trying to get up some of the steeper hills & mounds. This new thingy, well... with a push of a button, B can engage the little motor & away we
go !! No more struggling up pavements & everything.... great stuff !!

It feels a lot heavier, than my old chair.... but, I'm sure I will get used to it - given a bit of time. I had hoped that the control thing, was going to be down by my side... that ways, when I'm on my own, I could get myself around a little easier.... but, nope - it's back on the handles !! Never mind... it's all good !!

It took me a while, to get used to my old chair - so, as I say... given enough time... I will soon get used to this new one. First tho'... I have to give it a good name !! As it's a bit better, than the old one... I think I'll settle for "The Limo". That sounds good to me..... If I struggle with it - well, it will be called a few names, I'm sure - none of which I should mention here !!

I will be able to give it a "road test" tomorrow, when I go back to the hospital. If it's any good at all, I will soon know, going around the corridors & rooms there !! Time will tell, I guess !!

I've just changed the music... I'm now playing 'An American Prayer'... which, I think is a Jim Morrison & The Doors album - not a full on Doors album, as it came out after Jim's death. I can't really remember... I will have to check it out at some point !!

It's been a good day here... It is J's birthday !! I think he's had a good day, so far.... he seemed really pleased with the gifts he's been
given !! This included a mug - something ME says he will need, at Uni... as she was always missing something decent to drink from, while she studied !! Oh well.......

I just took a break.... mainly to fix myself a hot drink. It's not something I do very often - drink hot stuff - but, I've got of a bug at the moment & I'm hoping a hot "Lemsip" will clear my head a bit !! With going to the hospital, tomorrow - the last thing I want is a blooming head cold !!

I also checked, to see how the album transfer was going.... I think it's like a watched kettle, it always seems to take longer, when you watch it boil !! The tracks are flying across now - much faster than I expected !! Oh well......

As mentioned before - many times - we have taken a break, from going to Church, since just before Christmas. Well, I had a nice e-mail from one of The Church members, this morning.... As expected, now that I have explained to the Bishop, why we have not been to Church, the e-mail has explained that he (the guy who wrote) thought he had upset us & that was why we were staying at home !!

It is true - B was/is upset with some of The Church members... over the way she feels she treated, while I was in hospital (before Christmas)... but, that's only part of the reason why we've not gone !! We really do need a break - to spend time together, as a family. Things are moving along tho'... so, all is well with our little World !!

As I've said many times....... we love The Church & have no intentions on leaving, or anything like that !! It's all very complicated - so, enough about it for now !!

Our oldest cat has just jumped up, onto my lap !! It's very hard to type - with a ball of fur, purring away, in front of the keyboard !! As I'm the only one home - he has come looking for company... something he seems to do, when people go out of the house. he finds, who ever he can & sits with them !!

Right... my plans for today...... "None at all..." !! I will no doubt find some more music to play & just chillax, while I'm waiting for B to get home.... so, for now... I must away. I thank you all for logging in.... until next time...
